  1. Can you fly between systems without hyperspace jump?

Jan 16, 2015. #6. No you can't. I've seen the video on YouTube where a guy tried to fly in SC 0,5 LY to the nearest star system. The marker shows somewhere to space, you may reach it, but there would be no other star system.

  2. Traveling from the Bubble to SagA*...without Hyperspace ...

Of course I'll still be hyperspace jumping to get there, but what I'm going to do before each jump is select SagA* and align to it, and take a screenshot. Then, I will string all these screenshots together in a high-fps slideshow. The result will be getting to see what it looks like to fly through the galaxy without hyperspace!

  6. Elite Dangerous Mythbusters: Is it possible to travel to ...

However, in Beta 2, when you point at a relatively nearby star system in Super Cruise and start travelling, the 'time to destination' clock starts decreasing. So does that mean the game has changed and you can now travel between star systems without using hyper drive? No it hasn't and no, you can't - here is why:

  8. Supercruise

Supercruise is a method of faster-than-light (FTL) travel within star systems. A ship that is in supercruise can use the Frame Shift Drive to travel at speeds between 29.9 kilometers-per-second to 2001c superluminal (faster-than-light) speeds. It allows a ship to cross entire systems in a relatively short amount of time. Supercruise uses the ship's Frame Shift Drive to compress space in front ...

  9. Hyperspace

Hyperspace, colloquially known as Witch-space, is a higher-dimensional region through which ships can travel between star systems at superluminal speeds. Only ships fitted with a hyperdrive are able to initiate hyperspace jumps on their own. In the 34th century, the most prevalent hyperdrive design in use among human civilisation is the Frame Shift Drive (FSD). Hyperspace jumps rely on the ...

In terms of operation, the Type 2 and 2b drives take both travel from point to point through hyperspace. While in hyperspace, the ship is not exceeding the speed of light but is still traveling much faster than light relative to real space. The big disadvantage is hyperspace is not being compressed. 16. Hyperspace without locked destinations : r/EliteDangerous

Yeah this is true. Elite as a franchise was before B5, and it's also very likely that MJS was inspired by things like Elite when making B5, but Elite Dangerous has a few concepts that may have crossed back and forth. I think Thargoid technology was more traditional than the biomechanical creatures they are now.

  17. Hyperspace Jump To Stations

Mcleansc. M. May 11, 2020. #1. I don't get huge amounts of time to play this game, but I feel 1-2 hours should be enough time to do something productive. My 2 hours play time today were spent travelling between Fujin and Broo Tarquin. Needed 50 units of Fujin Tea, only 23 available each time so it meant 3 round trips.

  19. Hyperspace Travel time :: Elite Dangerous General Discussions

Recently the Hyperspace travel time has increased (for me) to an average of 25 seconds. I know Elite is a fantastic and rewarding game but I am now considering a move to another game as the 'Grinding' time when exploring is now ridiculously time wasting. When on an average session I may jump 100 times, which equates to almost 42 minutes of twiddling my thumbs .... This, in a game, or anything ...
