Thursday, October 26: devoted to important issues for Meetings and Event Planners. Inaugural expo to draw thousands of global travel professionals.
Global travel decision-makers will converge on the Miami Airport Convention Center from June 13-15, 2023 for the World Travel Expo Miami 2023 . In addition to thousands of travel industry attendees and exhibitors expected to attend, an entirely new slate of 22 partners and exhibitors has also been announced that will expand opportunities for brands and companies to build high-value relationships with influential national and international travel professionals. - Ticketing counter close 30 minutes before daily closing time of the exhibition.
- Each ticket admits one person only. No re-entry.
- Free for children under 1.1 meters in height accompanied by an adult. Otherwise, same admission fee for children and adults.

The city’s only travel expo, ITE Hong Kong 2023 (ITE2023) was concluded successfully on 18 June 2023, it was attended by 499 exhibitors from 59 countries and regions in and outside Asia; using 4 halls which double the scale over last year to around 80% of the pre-pandemic 2019. ITE in June is well timed for booking future holidays especially those in the coming summer. As the largest and most established annual international travel trade event in Vietnam, the 17th ITE HCMC 2023 will be held under the theme “Growing Forward Together”, endorsed by Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The event is an annual international travel event that enhances exchanges, tourism promotion and business opportunities for domestic and foreign tourism companies. The event was great result overall showcasing a variety of what Macau has to offer. A big thumbs up for the extra excursions, post expo fam trip I think this was definitely a plus. This gave us an opportunity to see the region and get a feel of what it has to offer.

Celebrate the 25 th anniversary of the establishment of the macao sar with the duet of gastronomy pavilion and the cellar among other highlights.
Under the theme of “Building Macao into a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region”, a pavilion featuring cutting-edge interactive technology such as virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence (AI) will showcase Macao’s diversity and splendor, offering visitors and residents a window onto the brilliant achievements over the last 25 years since Macao’s return to the Motherland and the direction of the city’s future development. The Gastronomy Pavilion and The Cellar will launch a “25 patacas” campaign featuring unique offerings at a discounted price in celebration of this special occasion. The two highlights will inject a new impetus to the “tourism + wine and gastronomy” endeavor and meet the diverse consumers’ demand of visitors and residents, within the extended opening hours of the exhibition. People can sample and savor a wide selection of wines and culinary delights at ease.
Promote new tourism development in Macao and Hengqin through “one exhibition, two cities”
To facilitate sharing of industry resources and strengths for concerted development between Macao and Hengqin, the Expo in Macao will feature an exhibit zone of outdoor camping for visitors’ immersive experience of trendy camping scenery and fun. In collaboration with the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, the 1st Macao–Hengqin Camping Festival 2024 will be held in Hengqin. Trade participants from the outdoor camping industry will be invited to attend the “Macao – Hengqin Outdoor Camping Industry Salon”. The themed activity will offer opportunities for camping, recreational vehicle and other outdoor travel industries and supply chains to connect resources and forge business partnerships. Furthermore, the activity will explore new growth areas and opportunities for the industries, fully leverage the advantages brought by the Expo as a professional platform, and promote a new model of concerted tourism development in Macao and Hengqin through the format of “one exhibition, two cities”.
Power up the main engine for consumption by combined measures of quality, volume & yield enhancement
A three-pronged approach will be taken to enhance quality, trade volume and yields. Firstly, the exhibition area will be expanded from 23,000 sqm to 30,000 sqm, up by over 30% from last year and setting a new high; secondly, the number of booths will be increased from 886 in the last edition to 1,300, a year-on-year increase of over 50%, for the purpose of stimulating consumption with increased supply; thirdly, the opening hours of the expo will be extended to tap into the consumption potential of visitors and residents, bring together exhibitors and professional buyers for business matching, and connect diverse market demands effectively, which will manifest the openness and dynamism of the event. To further boost trade and consumption at the exhibition, the “Macao Pavilion” and other showcase zones of discounted products will be set up to introduce a wide range of tourism products on special offers. The brand influence of MICE will be raised through scale expansion, service optimization and yield enhancement.
Taking multiple measures for a sustainable “green and low-carbon travel expo”
To help achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and in response to China’s “30-60” dual carbon goals , MITE will take active environmental measures and continue to promote green planning, space utilization, use of environmentally-friendly materials, green construction, and waste disposal, etc., in a pragmatic fashion. By means of carbon trading activities, this event aims to purchase carbon credits for environmentally friendly projects that are certified by the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), use these credits for the cause of carbon reduction, and endeavor to reduce the exhibition’s negative impact on the environment, so as to build a sustainable “green and low-carbon travel expo”.
“1+4 Pavilion” and “New Media Matrix” foster strategic industry development
The “1+4 Pavilion” will be expanded in terms of scale and exhibition area, which will be more than doubled from last year. The Expo aims to offer continued support for the development of the four key industries, including health and wellness, modern financial services, innovative technology, conferences and exhibitions, commerce and trade as well as culture and sports, for thorough implementation of the “1+4” development strategy for adequate economic diversification. The “New Media Matrix” will be adopted for exhibitors to present their products and services widely across multiple channels. Nine online influencers will be invited to conduct live-stream selling and promotion on ten social platforms for exhibitors. Special retail sections will be set up on local e-commerce platforms two weeks before the Expo to showcase local exhibitors’ tourism products and services and boost their online sales volume. Popular influencers with over one million followers will be invited to conduct live streams at the pavilion for the commercial and trade cooperation service platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries to promote distinctive products from Portuguese-speaking countries and support their launch into the Mainland market.
Create a new window for display with the “Belt and Road Product Pavilion”
For the first time, MITE will feature a 684-square-meter “Belt and Road Product Pavilion”. Enterprises from countries and regions along the Belt and Road will be invited to display and sell their distinctive products. With the goal of building an international exhibition platform for brand marketing and promotion, this Pavilion is set up for enterprises to expand their presence and build their reputation and image in domestic and international consumer markets. More opportunities will be created to “bring in” excellent products and “go global” for tapping into new markets. It will expose visitors to unique products and cultures from around the world in the midst of mutual exchange and learning.
Themed Pavilion of Cultural Museums and Educational Tourism taps into the popularity and potential of educational travel market
The Expo will feature the Themed Pavilion of Cultural Museums and Educational Tourism. Cultural museums and institutions such as renowned museums, cultural centers and patriotic education bases will be invited to participate in the exhibition, and hold themed learning promotional activities in Macao and the Mainland to deepen the concerted development of “tourism + education”. The Expo will line up domestic and overseas tourism enterprises, cultural institutions and museums for exchange and collaboration so that they can work together to create study tour itineraries, content, and learning bases with distinctive themes and colorful programs. Leveraging Macao’s great connectivity as an international tourism hub to expand its inbound and outbound tourism market, the “Travel & Learn” Itinerary planning Competition will be held. Contestants can design unique and innovative educational tour itineraries in Macao by weaving together inquiry-based learning and travel experiences creatively. Educational tourism resources and potential will be explored in Macao, while the Competition will raise the public’s awareness of educational tours and promote educational tourism development in Macao.
The 10 th MITE Cloud Exhibition
The Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (MITE) combined "Cloud" series including "Cloud B2B", "Cloud Promotion", "Cloud Contract-Signing", and "Cloud Live Broadcast" with oline scenarios for the first time in 2020. Through online "Cloud Promotion", more than 40 Mainland China and International exhibitors introduced the tourism resources of respective destinations and interacted with on-site visitors. With live broadcast rooms in the halls, where exhibitors had their promoted sold by internet celebrities through "Cloud Live Broadcast".

The exhibition constitutes the ideal forum where the Cypriot traveller can obtain correct and comprehensive information on tourist destinations and travel packages from all over the world.
Tour operators, airlines, International Tourism Authorities and local organizations, district offices from Cyprus and Greece, Cyprus and international hotel chains, foreign countries and other travel and tourism related parties participate in the exhibition with their own pavilions.
TRAVEL EXPO CYPRUS has been established as a very useful annual event in which Cypriot travellers await with anticipation in order to explore their options not only for their summer holidays but also for their future trips. From Kaliningrad to Sakhalin: All about the int'l RUSSIA EXPO in Moscow
A total of 129 displays are showcased at the exhibition space, which boasts a total area exceeding 90,000 square meters.
The opening and presentation of the new pavilions were accompanied by concerts, educational events, and master classes at VDNH. Since its opening, 868,540 people have attended the exhibition.
One of the central events on the first day was the opening of the ‘Portal to the Future’, which was attended by Larisa Dolina, Julianna Karaulova, SHAMAN, and Natalia Podolskaya. Visitors also took part in a large-scale flash-mob dance at ten VDNKH venues.
Andrey Belousov, first deputy prime minister of the Russian Federation, declared that shifting the consciousness of citizens to focus on the future was modern Russia’s most important achievement.
On November 5, he spoke at the ‘Knowledge First’ educational marathon held by Russia’s ‘Knowledge’ society, which took place as part of RUSSIA EXPO.
“Today we are proud that among our country’s many achievements, we see the people’s mood shifting to a strong focus on the future. This is very important motivation. After all, if you look at where we were a quarter of a century ago, mired in some sense of hopelessness, this transition to a forward-looking spirit is truly impressive,” Belousov noted.
Cultural, entertainment, educational, and business programs are all planned during RUSSIA EXPO, which will continue until April 12. There will also be Russian Region Days, when various parts of Russia will demonstrate their economic, cultural, and tourism potential. In addition, wedding ceremonies will take place according to national traditions.
In 2024, Russian Economy Days will take place from January 15 to February 9, and a National Achievements Forum will be held from February 12 to March 7.
At culinary festivals, visitors will be able to sample the diversity and specifics of the cuisines of various Russian peoples. A market will offer visitors a wide selection of goods from Russia’s regions, including food, handmade souvenirs, musical instruments, and clothing.
As part of the exposition, there will be illustrative examples of advanced Russian achievements, including the Crimean Bridge, the Russian Bridge, Moscow City, the Sirius education center and Skolkovo Innovation Center, the Lenin nuclear icebreaker, the Akademik Treshnikov scientific research vessel, the MS-21 aircraft, perinatal center, the Almazov National Medical Center, the Burdenko Neurosurgery Center, ‘Gosuslugi’ public service centers, Yandex’s and Sber’s digital ecosystems, the Vostochny Cosmodrome, and the Arctic-M satellite, as well as the Arkhyz, Rosa Khutor, Dombay, Sheregesh, Krasnaya Polyana, and Manzherok resorts.
Russia on the map
On arriving at RUSSIA EXPO, visitors will be greeted by an embroidered map of Russia.
Natalia Virtuozova, the director of exhibitions highlighting Russia’s 21st century achievements, said the Live Map consists of kinetic elements, which will accommodate all of Russia’s 89 constituencies.
“Just as the Russia exhibition shows all the richness of the regions through displays, the embroidered map reflects their cultural diversity through patterns. Therefore, we decided to present it in the form of a work of art that will meet our guests right at the entrance to VDNH,” Virtuozova said.
In 1939, the first embroidered map of the Chuvash Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic was presented at the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition. The craftsmen of Algeshevo’s ‘Paha Tere’ factory worked on the map for a year. It is now preserved in the Museum of Chuvash Embroidery.
In 2022, a map of the whole of Russia was hand-embroidered with the support of Russia’s Ministry of Culture and Federal Agency for Nationalities. The country’s new regions have also joined the project, with the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, as well as Zaporozhye and Kherson Regions, included on the map.
Svetlana Kalikova, Chuvashia’s minister of culture, noted that the embroidered map of Russia was created with the help of craftsmen from all over the country. It’s now part of Russia’s museum collection and preserved in the Chuvash National Museum.
“It is a great honor for us that the brainchild of Chuvashia is so highly valued and recognized as a symbol of our country’s unity and cultural diversity that will become the hallmark of large-scale projects like RUSSIA EXPO," said Kalikova.
Chuvashia will display its strengths in culture and tourism at the exhibition, as well as its potential for investment and industry – all that the republic has achieved over the past 20 years as part of a larger Russian family.
At Irkutsk Region’s stand, there will be a lottery draw for a trip to Lake Baikal.
“There will be a drawing for a comprehensive tour package to Lake Baikal, as well as 12 more vouchers for accommodation, excursions, and other services,” said Evgenia Naidenova, head of Irkutsk Region’s tourism agency.
In addition, a presentation of opportunities for tourism, including business events and meetings with regional tour operators, are planned at the exhibition.
Krasnodar Region’s stand offers visitors a virtual journey and active entertainment. Thanks to virtual technology, it will be possible to see the region’s sights and admire the beauty of its nature, as well as learn about the region’s modern achievements. Guests will be able to snap a selfie against the backdrop of the famous Crimean Bridge and take virtual tours of a cheese factory and winery.
“Our region is one of the leaders in socio-economic development. We have something to show and be proud of. At RUSSIA EXPO, we will present our innovations and achievements in industry, agriculture, health spas, education, healthcare, culture, and sports,” said Veniamin Kondratiev, governor of Krasnodar Region.
Vladimir Region has prepared a unique white-stone stand combining traditional architecture and modernity.
The aim of the region’s exhibition is to present its history and modern achievements. The exhibit is based on Vladimir’s world-famous Church of the Intercession on the Nerl – a 12th-century masterpiece made from white stone.
“We have created a modern interpretation of this church, which will represent white stone portals with digital technologies,” said Olga Semonenko, the Vladimir Region stand’s project manager.
Voronezh Region will present an immersive video show with full immersion in virtual reality.
The video project will take visitors on some real adventures: a parachute jump, a rocket launch into space, and a colorful fireworks display await guests virtual space. And most importantly, you’ll be able to see Voronezh Region without leaving VDNH.
Culinary Program
As part of the food festivals, a giant cake weighing 45kg with a diameter of 1.5 meters will be prepared at the exhibition, where visitors will have the opportunity to try Tomsk Region’s signature delicacy.
Pastry chef Anastasia Charkova will prepare a honey cake with roasted cedar, honeysuckle sauce, and a willow herb-tea custard in front of guests. The unusual dessert has long been a signature treat in Tomsk Region.
In addition, delicacies from all over the country await guests at the fair, where farmers will sell their best products: cheeses, honey, sausages, and much more.
More than 2,000 guides participating in a ‘Guides to Meaning’ contest will help visitors learn about the achievements and successes of their native land.
For six months, guides will tell visitors about important centuries in Russian history and their country’s 21st-century achievements in an interactive format.
In addition to the sightseeing tours, a theatrical performance by actors in polyphonic audio format is planned.
About 50 guides will be on hand to answer visitors’ questions and tell them about RUSSIA EXPO’s program of events every day.
Exhibition tours will be offered in six languages: Russian, English, Spanish, French, Chinese, and Arabic.

International Visitor Arrivals to the United States in 2023
Total international visitor arrivals 1 of 66.5 million in 2023 increased 15.7 million (+31%) from 50.8 million in 2022 to a level 84% of the 79.4 million arrivals in 2019.

NTTO’s latest forecast expects international visitor arrivals to surpass pre-pandemic 2019 levels in 2025 with 85.2 million.
Major Characteristics of Overseas Visitors to the United States from the Survey of International Air Travelers (SIAT)
New York was the most-visited state by overseas travelers in 2023, up from #2 in 2022, followed by Florida and California.
New York City was the most-visited city by overseas travelers in 2023, followed by Miami and Los Angeles.
2023 overseas visitation to the following U.S. states/territories surpassed visitation in 2019: Puerto Rico (+85%), Tennessee (+15%), Texas (+7%) and Georgia (+5%).

U.S. Citizen Departures from the United States in 2023
Total U.S. citizen departures 2 of 98.5 million in 2023 increased 17.6 million (+22%) from 80.8 million in 2022 to a level 99% of the 99.7 million arrivals in 2019.

Travel Trade Statistics
Spending by international visitors to the United States (travel exports) totaled $213.1 billion in 2023, an increase of $47.6 billion (+29%) from $165.5 billion in 2022 to a level 89% of travel exports in 2019. Travel exports accounted for 7.0% of total U.S. exports of goods and services in 2023, up from 5.5% in 2022. Travel exports supported 1.6 million U.S. jobs in 2023 3 .
Spending by U.S. residents abroad (travel imports) totaled $215.4 billion in 2023, an increase of $53.5 billion (+33%) from $161.9 billion in 2022 to a level 17% above travel imports in 2019.
Travel yielded a $2.3 billion trade deficit in 2023.

The Vietnam International Electronics & Smart Appliances Expo (IEAE) 2024 will take place from May 23 - 25 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre in Ho Chi Minh City with the participation of about 600 enterprises. It will feature more than 800 booths, showcasing tens of thousands of electrical and electronic products, household appliances, electronic components, lighting equipment, and other products. BEAR, one of the top three household appliance brands in China will be present at the exhibition along with other renowned brands, including UNITEK which specialises in various types of cables and adapters as well as HOMEZEST specialising in beverage-making products such as coffee makers, coffee grinders and electric kettles. Other major brands in the electronics, retail and smart home appliances industries such as Panasonic, Mega Housewares, CCTV Camera, FPT and Green Cook have registered to participate and work directly with suppliers during the exhibition. Thematic seminars and business matching programmes will also be held during the expo. According to Chris Wu, a representative of Chaoyu Expo company, one of the event’s organisers, after three successful exhibition seasons in Vietnam, they expect this year to create impressive product experiences, helping buyers from everywhere to trust in laying the foundation for business cooperation. Their goal is to develop IEAE as a professional and influential B2B exhibition in the electronics and smart devices industry in Southeast Asia, he added. Nguyen Ngoc Toan, General Director of Sunhouse International, said every year, the company visits international exhibitions to seek new products and technologies, elaborating that at the IEAE Expo 2023, they met many suppliers who meet international quality requirements, including long-term partners of Sunhouse. Co-organised by VINEXAD company under the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Chaoyu Expo Company, the expo is expected to attract 20,000 visitors to explore cooperation, investment opportunities, and sustainable business development in Vietnam./.

I travel the country teaching people about electric cars. Most people don't realize how much range they really need or how fun EVs are to drive.

BJ Birtwell is a self-proclaimed "car guy" and founder of Electrify Expo, an outdoor festival that brings electrification to everyday consumers with the help of automakers, charging companies, and other industry stakeholders. The 48-year-old, based in Austin, Texas, travels the country teaching prospective buyers about the nuances behind — and the joys of — driving an EV.
Before starting the expo in 2021, Birtwell worked in various roles in the event planning and auto industries, including Chrysler. The interview has been edited for length and clarity.
I've been in the auto industry for about 25 years and have been a car guy all my life. I ran a marketing division at Chrysler for several years and then left to produce large concerts and festivals at a multicultural events company. I created my own agency 13 years ago.
It was a glaring realization when we looked at the EV space that there wasn't anything like Electrify Expo.
People come to EVs for a variety of different reasons
Some people primarily want to reduce their carbon footprint. Others are just early adopters of technology. For me, I was a car guy. If you're a car person and if you know anything about EVs, you know that there's this polarity between those two audiences in some respects.
I always looked at EVs like, "Hey, if I can't hear it, I can't feel it. And if I can't feel it, then this car doesn't have a soul." That's really how I felt about EVs until I actually drove one. That light bulb moment happened for me, and at that point it was like, "Okay, people have to experience this technology in order to get it."
I first drove a Tesla in 2016
When you're a car guy or a car gal, your experience with a car is much more than utility. It's absolutely part of your identity, and it's something that you look forward to driving. The idea of removing an element, like sound, from the driving experience is very foreign and maybe even a little like the antithesis of the driving experience — until you get behind the wheel of one and you realize that the performance of these EVs is so much fun.

We created the electrify expo to be this antithesis of how consumers would normally experience a car at an auto show.
Giving them that experience allows them to close the loop on all the questions that they had. These are first-time EV shoppers, not the enthusiasts — people who are experiencing electric vehicles or electric bikes or electric scooters for the very first time.
It went from early adopters to people who were really conscious about reducing their carbon footprint and emissions to now this is being a mainstream consumer who's sensing "Hey, if I buy an internal combustion engine car today, in three or four years, when I try to sell that car, what's the demand going to be for an ICE car then?"
A lot of their questions can only be answered with an experience
There are true challenges, and then there are misconceptions. We're in an industry that's brand new. I don't know why people expect this industry to be so developed when technology is still being introduced. That's changing: how fast batteries charge, how long vehicles go. Challenges that are being addressed by the government with subsidies are things like EV infrastructure. If you can't charge at home, where can I charge?
There are certain places where there still needs to be more investment and more charging stations rolled out. That's happening now and it's going to happen over the next several years.
Range is a misconception
These cars have gotten so much better in terms of range. When you own an electric vehicle, you realize that yes, it might be great to have a 450-mile range, but 99% of the time, I really just need to get around today because if I have charging at home, I can come back at home and I can charge it up every night. They also ask about the time to charge. What does Level 2 charging mean?
A lot of these questions about charge time and range are starting to get softer. The question of cost has not been a big issue at our festivals.
A lot has happened in the last two or three years with more models being introduced, and we are getting so much closer to price parity with internal combustion engine cars. We're really approaching that now. I don't hear a lot about price anymore.
I don't think it's any different from shopping for a gas-powered car
They want to experience the thrill of an electric vehicle. They're looking at fit and finish, they're looking at price. These are the things that are the most important to consumers right now. We still have the questions about range. We still have questions about charging time.
We still have to have the answers, like locations of where to charge. But I feel like those questions will become less over the next couple of years as we solve these problems. We're getting there a lot faster than people expect.
Auto manufacturers play an important role in educating consumers about this transition
But this is a huge shift and it's going to take more than simply the auto manufacturers to educate. It's going to take more than the charging brands to educate. It's really going to take a more steeping strategy to educate people on some of these issues that are not advancing in the industry as fast as some would want.
But as far as I'm concerned, what we see is a really strong uptick in EV curiosity and EV interest and it's only increasing.
You're going to have EV holdouts. They have their own lifestyle and the way that they look at cars and how they should be powered. But that's certainly not going to be a large percentage of the American public over the next three or four years.
I think as more information gets out, as more people experience these vehicles, you get these questions answered, and when you get these questions answered, you close the loop and you adopt this new technology.
