Patch 2.7.7 Notes

Season 31 is the Season of the Forbidden Archives. Many adventurers have come to learn the power that dwells within the ancient nephalem artifact, Kanai’s Cube. However, none understands this power better than the equally celebrated and reviled Horadrim, Zoltun Kulle. Kulle was able to unlock and harness the power of the Cube like none before, leveraging its power to siphon and archive the energies of powerful items. With Season 31, we explore the power Kulle might lend to your fingertips if his experiments went unchecked.

For the duration of Season 31, the slots in Kanai’s Cube that allow you to equip three additional Legendary powers will not be restricted to their usual categories. While normally a player can equip one power each from the Weapon, Armor, and Jewelry categories, Season 31 players can mix and match between all three! This might allow you to run two Weapon powers with one Armor power. Or perhaps you might choose to run three Amulet powers instead. The choice is yours, and we’re as eager as you are to experiment with the new build opportunities this creates!

Season 31 Cosmetic Rewards

Beginning with Season 17, we began re-introducing previous Seasonal rewards to make them available to players who may have missed them the first time around. For Season 31, this means awards originally available from Season 7 are returning to the Season Journey.

journey tracker diablo 3

However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve participated in previous Seasons. We’re bringing back End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with not one, but two new cosmetic rewards for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Feast your eyes upon the Valor Portrait Frame and Angelic Treasure Goblin pet !

In addition to the Helm and Shoulders slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, you’ll be able to earn a series of portrait frames that embody the snowy, foreboding aura of the Eternal Woods. If you need a warm little pal to keep you cozy through your cold journeys, the Dream of Piers fiery nature should do the trick—when he’s not instilling night terrors in the local fauna.

If you’ve been diligently slaying demons for the past few Seasons and reached Conqueror in the Season Journey each time, you’ve surely accrued a few extra stash tabs. You’ll earn one additional tab each Season by finishing the Conqueror tier, up to a maximum of five :

  • Guardian of Sanctuary: Finish a level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII within five minutes.
  • Gem of My Life: Level three Legendary Gems to level 55.
  • All I Do IS Win: Complete two Conquests this Season.
  • Kill You: Kill Ghom at level 70 in under 30 seconds on Torment XIII difficulty.
  • Money Ain’t A Thang: Slay Greed on Torment XIII difficulty.
  • Take U There: Reach Greater Rift level 60 Solo.
  • Power Amplification: Use Kanai’s Cube to augment an Ancient Legendary item with a level 50+ gem.
  • Cubic Reconfiguration: Use Kanai’s Cube to reforge a Legendary item.

Want to prepare your Conquest plan for Season 31? Here are the challenges you’ll face! Returning for Season 31 is Sprinter/Speed Racer , where you’re challenged to complete the entire Diablo III campaign from Act I to Act V at level 70 in under 1 hour! Next is Avarice/Avaritia , where all that glitters is gold—that is, if you can complete a 50 million gold streak outside of The Vault or its Inner Sanctum. On a Good Day/I Can’t Stop encourages you to upgrade your Legendary Gems; level three Legendary Gems to 65 to complete this challenge! Push your way to Greater Rift level 75 to complete Divinity/Lionhearted. Lastly, a fan-favorite for those who enjoy unconventional builds, The Thrill/Superhuman requires completion of a Greater Rift level 45—solo and without any Set items equipped.

Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works:

Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. Each Gift contains a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely!

The set you receive depends on the class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character.

Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 31:

  • Barbarian – Wrath of the Wastes
  • Crusader – Roland’s Legacy
  • Demon Hunter – Unhallowed Essence
  • Monk – Raiment of a Thousand Storms
  • Necromancer – Bones of Rathma
  • Witch Doctor – Helltooth Harness
  • Wizard – Tal Rasha’s Elements

Overview of Season Journey in Diablo 3

The Season Journey is a set of tasks and objectives for players to complete that helps to guide and frame the flow of seasonal play for new and returning players alike.

  • 1. Seasons in Diablo 3
  • 2. The Season Journey for Season 28
  • 3. The Final Chapter Rewards

Seasons in Diablo 3

Seasons in Diablo last approximately 3 months and allow players to progress through the grind of the game with a fresh start; all gold, items, and characters from the non-seasonal side of the game are not carried over and players must level a new character from Level 1.

The Season Journey for Season 28

The Season Journey allows players to complete a set number of tasks to obtain rewards for that season, including cosmetic rewards (such as pets, portraits, and wings) and practical rewards (additional storage space and full sets for the season).

It can be one of the fastest ways for a player to gear up at the start of the season and grants players with a guaranteed full set of gear, according to the designated set for that season.

There are 4 main chapters that can be completed, which will grant the set pieces, followed by additional extra sets of objectives that will "upgrade" the visual of that season's portrait frame and grant extra rewards.

The sets for Season 27 are as follows:

  • Barbarian Horde of the Ninety Savages fresh 70 starter build
  • Crusader Aegis of Valor fresh 70 starter build
  • Demon Hunter Gears of Dreadlands fresh 70 starter build
  • Monk Patterns of Justice fresh 70 starter build
  • Necromancer Masquerade of the Burning Carnival fresh 70 starter build
  • Witch Doctor Mundunugu's Regalia fresh 70 starter build
  • Wizard Typhon's Veil fresh 70 starter build

Completing the Season Journey

To complete the main 4 chapters, there is a fastest route that you can follow every season with very minor adjustments depending on your group and the season.

To get your class set as fast as possible in Season 27, you should follow the list below:

  • Level to 70, following the steps that we outline in our Season Start guide. This will make sure that you obtain Kanai's Cube and the materials necessary.
  • Once you are at Level 70, create a game for your group on Master difficulty and do a full clear of the bounties in Acts I to V. Save the boss bounties for last so that you can group up to do them, as it may be somewhat challenging for some classes to do solo.
  • Once you have completed and collected all of the bounty caches from Tyrael, you will need to check and ensure that you have killed the bosses required for the journey. If the named bounties in your game did not include the required bosses, go to them directly and kill them.
  • Once you have done this, complete the other objectives remaining in each chapter, such as equipping your followers and crafting gear. You should be able to complete all the objectives in Chapters 1, 2, and 3 without leaving town. If you need a follower token to gear your follower fully, simply craft one at the Blacksmith.
  • Once you have all completed these chapters and have your 4-set bonuses from the gear rewards, put the game at Torment IV difficulty and kill the Keywardens in each act. There is one in each of the first 4 acts.
  • Once this is done, go together to the two named bosses in the journey and kill them both.
  • The final thing to do as a group is clear a Nephalim Rift on Torment IV. This will give each of you the Greater Rift Keystone that you need for the next step, as well as unlock Greater Rift Level 20.
  • Split up and complete a Greater Rift Level 20 solo and, once complete, you should be able to finish the chapter in town and get the final pieces of your set.

Extended Seasonal Journey

Once you have completed the main 4 chapters, you will be able to "enlist" in the extended journey by navigating to the Season Journey page in-game.

The majority of it is much of the same as we completed in the first chapters, but there are some notable new additions that are worth highlighting.

Set Dungeons

The Slayer chapter will ask you to complete a "Set Dungeon". These are dungeons that are designed for players to complete using a certain set for their class, with special objectives.

For this chapter, you will simply have to complete the set dungeon, rather than mastering it, which is required in the following chapter, Champion. The difference is that, to complete a set dungeon, you only have to complete the main objectives, while mastering it requires you to complete the bonus objectives and clear the dungeon of all mobs.

You can find links to all of our set dungeon guides in the class menus at the top of the page.

Conquests are specific tasks that rotate between seasons for players to complete, with a varying focus on different styles of play: some require speed, while others focus more on skill, and even the occasional drop of luck.

Each season, a certain set of conquests is available for players to complete. The conquests for Season 27 are as follows, along with links to our guides for each:

  • Sprinter/Speed Racer
  • Avarice/Avaritia
  • Boss Mode/Worlds Apart
  • The Thrill/Superhuman
  • Masters of the Universe/Masters of Sets

The Destroyer chapter requires you to complete 1 conquest for one of the objectives, while Conqueror requires 2, and Guardian requires 3.

The Final Chapter Rewards

The final chapter, Guardian, rewards players with a unique pet and portrait frame, as shown below.

Diablo Tavern

Welcome, Nephalem! On this site you will find many guides and resource pages to help you on your journey. This includes tips for leveling your characters quickly , farming gems , farming legendaries & sets , details on Diablo 3 Classes , best builds and gear you can use for each, and much more.

If you are new to Diablo 3, below are the answers to some of the most common questions asked by the beginners. If this is the case, we suggest reading through these before navigating to the other pages to see if there is any topic you would like to learn in particular.

Which Class Should I Pick?

The short answer is: whichever Class looks the most appealing to you! None of the Classes are overly complicated to learn, and they’re all more than viable for leveling up and reaching endgame content.

Look at each Class and see which one would match your playstyle the most. Do you like charging into the middle of enemy hoards and taking them all down with raw strength? Check out a Barbarian. Would you rather stay back and take out the forces of evil with powerful elemental magic? You’ll probably like the Wizard best.

Below is a quick breakdown of each Class and their playstyles:

  • Specializes in brutal melee combat.
  • Has many Skills and Passives that can make them hard to kill.
  • A very straightforward Class to learn.
  • Has access to Shouts that have a variety of effects, from buffing your party, to making enemies run in fear.
  • A melee fighter that specializes in defense.
  • The only Class in the game that can equip a 2-Handed weapon and Shield at the same time.
  • While specializing in melee, they can also attack from a distance with Holy and Lightning attacks.
  • Can proclaim various Laws to boost offense or defense.
  • The only dedicated ranged attacker that does not use magic.
  • The only Class in the game that uses two resources to use their Skills.
  • Can take advantage of various traps to keep enemies at a distance.
  • They have many evasive Skills to get them out of tight situations when needed.
  • A melee attacker that specializes in high mobility.
  • Can use combos to make attacks stronger, and add additional effects to take enemies out quickly.
  • Has a large variety of tools for both offense and defense.
  • Can create Chakras that boost the party either offensively or defensively.
  • A ranged attacker that specializes in raising and commanding the undead.
  • Can use the corpses of enemies to either unleash various attacks, or create an ally.
  • Various Curses and their minions allow them to keep enemies crippled and ready to be killed.
  • Can cause chain attacks with their Skills to take out groups of enemies quickly.
  • A ranged attacker that can summon a wide variety of creatures to help them in combat.
  • Uses destructive magic for various attacks such as clouds of acid, and can sacrifice their pets to do extra damage.
  • Has access to Curses and Hexes to slowly kill off enemies.
  • The large amount of pets they can have with them allow them to stay safe from enemies.
  • A ranged attacker that specializes in Fire, Lightning, Ice, and Arcane magic.
  • They can choose to focus on one of these elements, or use multiple for devastating effects.
  • Their resources regenerates faster than the other Classes, allowing them to use their Skills more consistently.
  • They have many defensive Skills that can make them much more durable than you would expect from a caster.

Something to keep in mind, however, is that all melee Classes (Barbarian, Crusader, and Monk) take 30% less damage compared to the other Classes. This means that playing a melee Class will be a little more forgiving when it comes to keeping yourself alive.

We have a dedicated resource pages for each Class where we will be going into more detail on what makes each of them unique, as well as exploring their gear and playstyle.

What Difficulty Should I Play On?

The answer to this will change depending on what stage you’re at on your journey. You might notice that Diablo 3 comes with a long list of them: from Normal, all the way to Torment I – XVI (1-16), with the latter set designed for the endgame.

When you make your first character, your best bet is to start on a Normal or Hard difficulty. As you begin to find better equipment and the enemies start to feel too easy, try bumping up the difficulty and see if it’s still comfortable. If, after you gain a few levels, the enemies start nearly one-shotting you, take the difficulty down until you can get better gear. Each increase in difficulty will give you more experience, and a better chance at getting higher quality gear.

Once you hit level 70, you will want to go to the Torment difficulties as quickly as possible — there are a few materials for endgame content that only drop in Torment I or higher. The ultimate goal is to eventually be able to play on Torment XVI comfortably, so you can start tackling the hardest and most rewarding content.

If you want a full breakdown of the increases for each difficulty, you can check out an overview of all of them here .

Should I Make a Normal or Seasonal Character?

This will mostly come down to preference. Seasonal characters will essentially involve playing a ‘newer’ version of the game compared to Normal ones, usually having an exclusive gimmick unique to each Season to further boost your characters, as well as exclusive cosmetic rewards that all of your characters can use once unlocked. However, at the end of every Season, any Seasonal characters you have will be converted to Normal ones, meaning that if you want to participate in the new season, you will have to make a brand new character that will start from scratch. This makes your Normal characters much more consistent. Keep in mind that the character will not lose anything when being converted, however.

If you’re making your very first character, we suggest making a Normal character, so you can go through the story and get used to everything in the game at your own pace. Once you’re more familiar with the game and know how to level your characters up quickly , start making Seasonal characters to see how your Class can be at its best, as well as enjoy some fun gimmicks.

Keep in mind that Normal and Seasonal characters do not share anything with each other, meaning you cannot have a Normal character help boost a Seasonal one, and vice versa.

How Do I Craft in the Game?

All item crafting in the game is done through two of the three Artisans : the Blacksmith and Jeweler. However, you can also enhance your gear through the Mystic (the third Artisan), and Kanai’s Cube (which also has a lot of other great uses). All crafting and enhancements will cost you Gold and materials.

How do I Get More Materials and Gold?

For the most part, you can get Gold and materials needed for crafting and enhancing by simply playing the game and Salvaging unneeded gear at the Blacksmith . However, there are some materials that will require more specific methods to obtain.

We have a dedicated resource page to getting all the crafting materials you’ll need efficiently, as well as a resource page for getting Gold quickly .

How do I get the best Gear?

The most straightforward way to get the best gear in Diablo 3 is to simply do Greater Rifts , where the vast majority of Legendary and Set pieces can drop. However, there are many ways you can acquire this gear faster, such as taking advantage of Kanai’s Cube .

We have a dedicated resource page for the different methods you can use to farm Legendary and Set equipment that you can check out for more details!

Diablo III [ ]

Season Journey is an enhanced Achievement tracker that is only available to Seasonal players and is shared account-wide. This feature was added in Patch 2.3 during Season four . [1]

Background [ ]

The Season Journey was added as a means of tracking player progress. It acts as a guide on how players should progress throughout the Season. The Journey is divided into chapters, which include major milestones that are achievable by most players, and tiers, which are designed for advanced players.

Completing chapters unlocks new portrait frame rewards, and the final chapter includes challenges which will take effort to achieve for even the most powerful characters. [1] A new chapter is unlocked after the completion of all previous chapters. Chapter quests are designed to be immediately accessible, so completing a task before actually unlocking it does count towards its completion once the chapter is finally available. [2]

Each chapter is progressively more difficult, featuring tasks from no-brainers such as leveling artisans , socketing items, and reaching certain character level , to challenges such as beating a Nephalem Rift on Torment IX difficulty in under 4 minutes, beating solo Greater Rift rank 60, killing Greed on T10, or extracting 100 legendary powers via Kanai's Cube . There are a total of 9 chapters (Season 5), each giving progressively better rewards, including non-combat pet, full class set, and an additional stash tab (for Chapter VIII). Beginning with Season 5, players receive Haedrig's Gift as a reward for completing Chapter IV of the Season Journey.

Chapter Rewards [ ]

There are a total of nine chapters in the Season Journey. Each successive chapter is more difficult than the previous ones. After completing chapter IV, the player will receive the cosmetic rewards for the Season.

The Season Journey is divided into a number of chapters, with players earning limited-time rewards of each chapter of the journey that's completed. The last chapter is the hardest.

The Season Journey is free for all players. Completing Season Journey objectives also grants progress toward the Season Pass . [3]

Sometimes, especially in computer shared by multiple users, the issue may be caused by file permission. Run the game as Administrator Role may solve the issue. Steps:

Method 4: Anti-virus and Firewall Settings

Anti-virus and firewall settings may also cause the issue. Temporarily turn off anti-virus and firewall to verify. Note that some routers have built-in firewall; you may need to turn off them too.

After you prove that the problem is at anti-virus/firewall, then you need to fix them.

How to configure router/firewall:

Other Methods

Some other players had solved the issue with their own ways:

set up DNS: Edit: (Links removed because of retirement of old forum.) No detail steps here because the original posters didn’t given any. You may try using Google DNS or other public DNS.

reinstalling the game. See the Advanced Troubleshooting section of this article for uninstalling game cleanly:

Extra Remark

If the screen is still error after trying above methods, try completing some achievements/objectives. It may help to trigger data update to your client. For seasonal objectives, you may reference this website: Diablo 3: Season 27 Journey Tracker (Reference: see conversation in this thread.)

Good Luck !!!

:grinning:

None of these worked for me. Uninstalled battle.net completely, deleted all blizzard folders, reinstalled everything and on the European server I still cannot see the season journey achivements, only can see those on the USA server.

Sorry to hear that.

I’d recommend you to enter a ticket to contact support as this is actually a technical issue.

If you find a solution, you are welcome to get back. I’ll add your solution to the topic.

I’m having the same issue, also tried everything without a solution, and whenever I try to open a ticket, it just tells me to come to the forums.

When entering a ticket, rather than inputting the text box, Click: I would rather categorize the issue > In-Game Issues > Technical Issue > Crashes > Contact Us

Then choose a communication channel, and fill in the form.

Or, use this link: https://us.battle.net/support/en/help/contact/1396/ticket (You may be prompted to login.)

I have created a ticket as well as a forum discussion. Thank you very much Maskraider!

I have the same problem, write if you help.

Which methods have you tried? If one method doesn’t work, you may need to try other methods. Mind that you can change the language at the bottom of those support articles.

All tried, nothing helps.

I’m facing the same issue. Already tried everything that is explained in this thread without success. Actually, on America Server everthing’s fine, only on the European Server I’m facing this issues since some days. Is anyone from Blizz still investigating this issue?

Thank you very much!

That’s exactly what happens to me. I’m an EU player, and in the EU server it basically blows up no matter what I try to fix it. Jump to another server and boom, everything runs as intended.

My five cents. Below there is a screenshot that illustrates this bug. In fact, this is a compilation of two screenshots: at the top it was made from my side, at the bottom - by another player who has this bug.

https://i.imgur.com/v8SvDeB.jpg

You can see that we are in the season in a group. At the same time, I have a button for viewing the seasonal journey, but the other player does not have it. And if he press shift + J , then an empty window is opened without quests of the seasonal journey.

As mvp of eu/ru technical support, I already know several people with this bug. The tips at the beginning of this topic do not help. Please fix this bug or give us an information on how to fix it ourselfs.

Adding Link to the Not a bug thread to this thread.

@bigblack The missing button at top right seems something is broken to me. I’ve never seen this before.

I’d suggest running Scan and Repair tool first. And then go through the methods above. If it doesn’t help, I suggest you to create a new topic because the title of this thread contains the word “[Solution]”; I’m afraid Blizzard will skip reading this thread.

Hi, I’m also facing the same issue since few days. Already tried everything that is explained in this thread without success. Problem occurs when connected on European Server. On America server (same device, same acount) it works fine. I’ve also opened a ticket to support, but did not get any solution so far. I hope support will investigate deeper, as it is very anoying not to be able to complete this season journey…

I got the same issue, the Window stays blank and i already did everything suggested in here; Problem occurs on the European Server, on the Asian one is works

After running a ticket with Tech Support where sadly (and even though they tried diligently) they couldn’t fix it for me, I’m stating my case: Season Journey blank on EU, tried all the steps listed here, opened a ticket, ran their connection troubleshooting aswell as deleting again cached folders, then tried the new fix they told me: new admin account to run the game and checking the HOST file for issues, but still persisted even repeating the connection troubleshooting guidelines a second time. They made a second manual trial, but it seems to be a technical issue on EU. They told me to post this here and that the devs are on it, so I’m hoping to hear from them soon.

“Run as admin” is Method 3 . Does it mean that you haven’t tried all methods? If so, try Method 4 and Other Methods (DNS settings, delete game manually and reinstall)

For DNS settings, I don’t have any detail steps because the original poster didn’t mention. I think you can use Google DNS or other public DNS.

Quote from AragornE » Do you have information about class specific sets for Season 7 from Haedrig gift?
Quote from Cyberdoc » Nice job! Have the conquests been confirmed? I thought I read the 3x Leg gems to 65 was a conquest, not Guardian? I do not have PTR loaded so cannot check too easily
Quote from neo-data » Hey thx for the Tracker but i got a bug @ higher resolution (4K) I added a screenshot to show it http://imgur.com/Y0ennv2
Quote from udomsa33 » Nice! Thank you very much For completeness sake you can also add the Conquests? Not really necessary though, but just in case you wanna cover everything.
Quote from ol_baid » Maybe adding the actual conquests when clicking the Conquests highlight would be a nice feature. Like an additional row appearing next to Guardian or similar, also with this click-to-mark-as-solved feature. If the full text is too long, display only full text if hovering over a single conquest "cell". Great work, great overview.
Quote from bay_Dimcho » First of all - bravo. The good work done deserves admiration If you want some tips for improving the code, here they are: is enough for a HTML5-page and it save time ( w3c ) avoid using tags for layout ( w3c ), define some bottom/top-margin CSS-classes instead Avoid qualifying ID and class names with type selectors ( google ) indentation make the code prettier (you always put "stop looking at my ugly code"), use it p.s. making the page responsive (different resolutions) shouldn't be much of a hustle (great articles on this topic here ) Cheers

Two more suggestions:

  • clicking on <th> toggles all checks below - select/deselect
  • ordering/listing for the Haedrig's Gift bags - <ul> will do the trick
Quote from bay_Dimcho » The code looks better now Nice touch with the "current" indicator. Two more suggestions: clicking on <th> toggles all checks below - select/deselect ordering/listing for the Haedrig's Gift bags - <ul> will do the trick Cheers

Update: Implemented the <th> toggle. Also completely re-coded the dependency, should work much better now.

They are T10 and Malthael und Urzael are T10, too. The T10 rift is needed to be finish within 6 minutes.

I'm super super salty, just wanted to get the seasonal journey done but it appears this list is incomplete.

Guardian - Level 3 gems to level 70. I thought I'd be smart and just get the 65 that was required and then just augment to finish it all off. Turns out there was another step that wasnt listed and now I have to relevel 2 gems all the way back up.

Wow... this sucks. See below:

Quote from Tobs_tv » Guardian doesn't require 3 lvl 65+ augments as well, it's only level 50+ Also the Torment XIII Greed kill is missing in your list

Got the Greed thing, but what about the gems? Freezy says you need actually 3 gems to 70. I'm very much annoyed as well that so many things got changed post-PTR and didn't get noticed in a bluepost. Note that all this data is straight taken from blueposts... Does anyone have screenshots of the *complete* Conqueror+Guardian lists, from in-game Season 7? I have most of the requirements done but obviously (like so many others) wanted to finish everything and then augment my 3 main gems once I'm done with everything. Therefore, I can't see past Destroyer currently.

I think we are all pretty pissed off about the post-ptr unannounced changes across the board. SO much so that I among many have debated shutting the game down until at least we get some sort of announcement at Gamescom or Blizzcon.

If this announcement does not come, safe to say we can keep the life support unplugged and enjoy other wonders, because the last thing I will deal with when playing a game is an unresponsive dev team makes changes "because".

Damn. Okay, everything is fixed now and I added a disclaimer to the top of the site... though it might be too late.

Hello Bagstone!

I have found a little bug which is most likely due to post PTR Changes. If you check the Level 3 gems to 65 Conquest it automatically checks the "Level 3 gems to 70" from Guardian, which obviously should not :).

Not a huge bug, but still confused me a bit at first I was like eh I have not leveled 3 gems to 70 yet, I'm sure I haven't clicked that button.

Thanks for tool I like it!

Returning Veteran's Guide to Diablo 4 - Season 4

Boss ladder, target farming, season 4 updates to boss ladder.

  • The Echo of Andarial joins the ladder for Season 4 and brings the same Uber Unique drop rate as her brother, Duriel!
  • Tormented Echoes become part of the ladder as level 200 versions of all bosses. They are summoned with the traditional material required for each specific boss alongside a new material, Stygian Stone , which comes from the newest endgame activity, the Pit. All items that drop from Tormented Echo Bosses are item level 925. Players who defeat their first Tormented Echo Boss will receive one Resplendent Spark as a first-time reward.
  • Patch 1.4.0 will give all Ladder Bosses a 0.5% chance at dropping an Uber Unique .

Itemization Changes

Affix pool reduction.

  • The number of affixes per item type have been reduced, e.g., Legendary items now have 3 affixes, and Rare items now have 2 affixes.
  • Sacred items now only appear in World Tier 3, and Ancestral items now only appear in World Tier 4.
  • The size of the pool of available affixes has been reduced, leaving affixes to be both more relevant and stronger. Those include: Basic Skill Ranks, Core Skill Ranks, Resource per Second, Resouce on Kill, Lucky Hit: Apply Vulnerable, and Life per Hit.

Vendor Updates

  • The Alchemist's refinement system for herbs has been replaced with Bundled Herbs , i.e., different herbs still exist throughout Sanctuary as nodes, but each node now exclusively drops Bundled Herbs . This means players no longer have to farm nor use specific herb types when crafting potion upgrades or elixirs. Also, the previously used hierarchy for elixir strength has been replaced with Basic and Advanced elixir categories, e.g., Elixir of Cold Resistance versus the Advanced counterpart of Elixir of Cold Resistance II . This translates to a reduction of 70 or so elixirs spread across 5 different levels of strength to 22 elixirs spread across two levels of strength, So, no more elixir juggling!
  • Like Blacksmith Upgrades for armor and weapons, the Jeweler's Upgrade Jewelry system will also be replaced with Tempering, Masterworking, and Greater Affixes Crafting Systems. The rules and processes of those systems apply similarly to Jewelry. Beyond that, the Jeweler's biggest change involves gems now providing primary stats. This update falls in line with developers' intent to reduce number of affixes overall. For example, using Royal Amethyst in the Armor slot now provides Strength, as opposed to Damage Over Time.

New Crafting Systems

Masterworking, greater affixes, seasonal content, season journey.

  • Playing the game completes Season Journey Objectives .
  • Season Journey Objectives award Favor .
  • Favor advances the Battle Pass .
  • The Battle Pass awards Smoldering Ash and cosmetics.
  • Smoldering Ash allows you to get powerful buffs through the Season Blessings .
  • Powerful buffs from Season Blessings help you play the game .

Battle Pass

Newest leveling method, helltide quality-of-life changes.

  • Helltides are now available for players in World Tiers 1 & 2, allowing those who are leveling characters the valuable monster density in more sustainable way.
  • Roaming mini-bosses and ambient meteors have been removed.
  • Compared to World Tiers 3 & 4, monster density is less overall to ensure beginners find the event approachable.
  • More interactables and events are being added to increase the diversity of things to do during the Helltide.
  • Lastly, there are huge, demonic worms that burst forth from the ground and vomit up hordes of demons varying times — what's not to love about that.

Newest Endgame Activity
