Camping im Serengeti-Park: So geht Safari in Deutschland

Alter der Kinder bei Abreise:

Wenn du ein echtes Safari-Abenteuer erleben willst, musst du nicht zwangsläufig nach Afrika fahren. Auch im Serengeti-Park in Niedersachsen kannst du Löwen, Nashörner, Giraffen und viele andere Wildtiere in freier Wildbahn bestaunen. Und das Beste: Der Ausflug lässt sich perfekt mit einem schönen Camping-Trip verbinden. Alle Infos dazu bekommst du in diesem Artikel.

Die Lüneburger Heide verbinden die meisten Leute wohl eher mit den berühmten Heidschnucke-Schafen. Nicht unbedingt mit Löwen, Tigern und Nashörnern. Aber genau das erwartet dich im Serengeti-Park. Der größte Safaripark Europas am Rand der Lüneburger Heide bietet über 1.500 exotischen Wildtieren ein Zuhause – und bei einem Besuch kannst du diese aus nächster Nähe beobachten!

Besonders schön ist aber: Der Park ist nicht bloß für Tagesbesucher geeignet, die abends wieder nach Hause fahren. Neben Safari-Lodges gibt es im Park auch Stellplätze für Wohnmobil-Besitzer. Wenn du schon immer mal neben afrikanischen Wildtieren campen wolltest – hier bekommst du die Gelegenheit dazu! Außerdem gibt es im näheren Umkreis einige sehr schöne Campingplätze.

Serengeti-Park: Das erwartet dich bei einer Safari-Tour

Hauptattraktion des Serengeti-Parks sind die geführten Touren im Safari-Bus. Genau wie bei einer „echten“ Safari fährst du mit den Rangern in den Park und siehst Löwen, Geparden, Nashörner, Giraffen und viele andere Wildtiere in freier Wildbahn. Einige der Anlagen kannst du sogar zu Fuß betreten, z.B. das Dschungel-Areal, in dem 200 Affen leben oder die Gehege mit Kängurus, Alpakas und Eseln. In diesen Teilen des Parks gibt es keine Zäune zwischen dir und den Tieren – ein tolles Erlebnis!

Auch neben den spannenden Einblicken in die Tierwelt gibt es viel zu erleben. Im Monster-Truck beschleunigst du auf über 250 PS und begibst dich auf einen spannenden Hindernis-Parcours. Bei der Splash-Safari düst du im Jetboat mit Highspeed über den „Viktoria-See“ im Park. Über 40 weitere actionreiche Fahrgeschäfte wie Achterbahn, Scooter und Wildwasser-Fahrten bieten Freizeitspaß für die ganze Familie.

Übernachten im Serengeti-Park

Ein besonders schönes Erlebnis sind Übernachtungen im Park. Dazu gibt es eine Reihe von Lodges und Zelt-Lodges, in denen du in nächster Nähe der Tiere den Tag ausklingen lassen kannst. Oder du fährst mit dem umgebauten Doppeldecker-Bus mitten in die Wildnis und verbringst die Nacht zwischen Zebras, Straußen und Antilopen. Mehr Afrika in Deutschland geht nicht!

Besonders praktisch: Du kannst sogar mit deinem eigenen Wohnmobil in den Park fahren. In der Nähe des Masai-Mara-Areals finden sich schöne Rasen-Stellplätze mit Strom direkt an der Parzelle. Sanitäreinrichtungen und Wassertank für Ver- und Entsorgung sind ebenfalls vorhanden. Die Stellplätze kannst du mieten, wenn du mindestens einen Tag Eintritt in den Park bezahlst.

Campingplätze in der Nähe des Serengeti-Parks

Lust einen Besuch des Serengeti-Parks mit einem längeren Camping-Trip zu verbinden? Dann empfehlen wir dir die folgenden drei Campingplätze, die sich im näheren Umkreis des Parks befinden. Von den Plätzen aus erreichst du den Park in maximal einer halben Stunde mit dem Auto. Und natürlich gibt es auch sonst noch viel zu entdecken, beispielsweise die wunderschöne Lüneburger Heide.

Südsee-Camp

Unser Top-Tipp für einen Campingurlaub in der Nähe des Serengeti-Parks! Der besonders kinderfreundliche und als ADAC Superplatz ausgezeichnete Campingplatz im wunderschönen Wald- und Heidegebiet zählt zu den beliebtesten Campingplätzen in Niedersachsen überhaupt. Und was gäbe es Schöneres als deine Safari in Afrika mit einem anschließenden Ausflug in die Südsee zu verbinden?

Highlight des Platzes sind die vielen fantasievoll gestalteten Freizeit-Areale: Eine echte Tropenlandschaft mit Wildwasserkanal, das Piratenschiff im Kinderparadies und das riesige Spaßhallenbad mit Wellenbecken. Dazu gibt’s einen Hochseil-Klettergarten, einen Reiterhof mit Pferde-Pension, eine Minigolf-Anlage und vieles mehr. Langweilig wird es hier also ganz bestimmt nicht!

Campingplatz Ahlden

Fast schon in fußläufiger Entfernung zum Serengeti-Park befindet sich der gemütliche Campingplatz Ahlden. Der Platz liegt an einem kleinen Flüsschen und hat einen eigenen Sandstrand. Außerdem kannst du Paddelboote ausleihen und eine Runde auf dem Wasser drehen. Die ruhige, freundliche Atmosphäre macht diesen Platz zu einer tollen Adresse, um ein paar entspannte Tage im Grünen zu verbringen.

Campingpark Hüttensee

Ein Stückchen im Süden liegt unsere letzte Empfehlung: Der beliebte Campingpark Hüttensee am Rande der Seenlandschaft Lüneburger Heide. Das parkähnliche Areal grenzt direkt an den Hüttensee an. An dem ausgedehnten Sandstrand kannst du hervorragend relaxen und einen Sprung ins kühle Nass wagen. Kinderspielplatz, Imbiss und das hervorragende Restaurant runden das Angebot ab. Ein schöner Platz für eine noch schönere Zeit am See!

Serengeti Safari Park, Hodenhagen

Visitors to the 220-hectare Serengeti Safari Park in Hodenhagen can experience the African animal kingdom up close and admire a great many species thanks to the Petting, Jungle and Serengeti Safaris.

The Serengeti Safari allows visitors to see lion prides, bison, giraffes, tigers and zebras roaming free from the comfort and safety of their own car or the safari bus. There are no vehicles allowed for the Jungle Safari, though, as visitors explore the space in which 200 monkey species and the newly added Bennett's tree-kangaroos live. The Petting Safari is visitors' chance to feed and cuddle alpacas, donkeys and goats. The Safari Park is recognised as a zoo and is one of the leading breeding facilities for elephants and white rhinoceroses in Europe.

Boasting more than 40 rides and all kinds of shows, the Adventure Safari provides ample opportunity for animal-inspired fun of a different kind.

Die Serengeti-Safari

Unser als Zoo­lo­gi­scher Gar­ten aner­kann­ter Park bie­tet über 1.500 Wild­tie­ren ein natur­na­hes Zuhause. In den zahl­rei­chen großz­ü­g­i­gen und befahr­ba­ren Land­schafts­an­la­gen der Serengeti-Safari leben viele Arten teilweise miteinander vergesellschaftet - genau wie in freier Wildbahn. Hier kannst Du ihr Mit­ein­an­der und ein Stück Natur bewusst erle­ben. Du kannst diesen Teil des Parks nur in einem Fahrzeug erkunden. Am Rande der Abenteuer-Safari, in der Masai-Mara und in der Dschungel-Safari gibt es viele Bereiche, in denen Du Tiere auch zu Fuß entdecken kannst. In den Streichel-Safaris und den begehbaren Gehegen der Dschungel-Safari erlebst Du einige sogar hautnah!

Exklusiv und hautnah auf VIP-Safari

Mit unseren Rangern kannst Du exklusive Blicke hinter die Kulissen erhaschen und den Tieren einmalig nah kommen! Füttere selbst Giraffen, Elefanten und viele mehr. Spüre den Atem mächtiger Raubkatzen die Dir bei der Fütterung aus dem vergitterten Expeditionsfahrzeug heraus beeindruckend nah kommen! In offenen Jeeps, Unimogs, Monsterstrucks, vergitterten Quads und mehr geht es zum Teil querfeldein durch die Serengeti.

Mit dem Doppeldecker-Bus

Unter der Regie unserer erfahrenen Ranger erlebst Du eine geführte Safari mit viel Unterhaltung und spannenden Informationen zu unseren Tieren. Die Serengeti-Bus-Safari findet mehrfach täglich und bei jedem Wetter statt. Sie dauert eine Stunde und kostet 6,50 Euro pro Person (Kinder unter 3 Jahren sind kostenfrei). Die letzte Serengeti-Bustour startet jeweils um 15:30 Uhr. Tagesaktuelle Abfahrtzeiten findest Du im Park an der Busabfahrt.

Mit dem eigenen Auto

Du kannst die 10 Kilometer lange Reise durch die Serengeti-Safari mit dem eigenen Auto antreten. Die Durchfahrt ist im Parkeintritt enthalten, erfolgt aber auf eigene Gefahr. Wir übernehmen keine Haftung für eventuelle Schäden an Deinem Fahrzeug. Der Groß­teil unse­rer Tiere kann sich inn­er­halb der abge­sch­los­se­nen Areale frei bewe­gen, bitte füttere sie nicht! Falsches oder zu viel Futter kann tödlich sein. Das Aussteigen aus dem Fahrzeug ist nur im Elfenbeintal erlaubt.

Beautiful! In beautiful, clean enclosures you will learn a lot about the animals and their habitat. Throughout the park, the attention to detail. Especially the very attractively designed bird of prey show is a highlight here. Otherwise we have spotted wolves, bears, prairie dogs, otters, snow leopards, tigers, raccoons and moose. There is also a petting zoo, where lively goats wrestle for every fingering hand of the visitors ... Open all year, free and guaranteed a lot of fun. You can visit red deer, deer, mouflon and wild boar at home. A special feature is the fallow deer outdoor enclosure, where the game can be experienced and fed close up.

Güstrow Nature and Environment Park

In August I visited the nature and environmental park with my parents. Despite the discount, this adventure park is certainly one of the expensive ones. Nevertheless, you also get a lot on offer. Puzzles to participate in, active learning games and well-explained information boards are lovingly provided. The whole thing has a museum-educational effect and allows some of the rusty knowledge from school to be refreshed. The snack stand next to the playground invites you to grab a little refreshment. Would love to come here again at any time. Landpark Lauenbrück

In the Landpark Lauenbrück, surrounded by a very idyllic landscape, you can see various animal species from close up. Especially in the outdoor enclosure the deer and deer do not seem to be afraid. If the animals have already become enough, they can also spend their time in the tasty restaurant, on one of the children's playgrounds or on the adventure path directly on the lake. During my 5-hour stay I especially noticed the cleanliness of the park and the scrupulousness of the animals. Overall, a very nice facility! Opening hours: All year round also on public holidays. My absolute favorite game park. Highlights here are the wolves and brown bears, some of which look very photogenic into the camera. Especially recommended are the feeding rounds. Here you can really see all the animals up close. The feeding tour lasts about 2.5 hours and takes place twice a day. In the winter time there is even a Christmas market. Opening hours: From 7 November 2016 until 17 March 2017 only open on all Saturdays / Sundays and public holidays from 10:30 am until dusk, last admission: 4:00 pm wildtierpark.de

Wildpark Schorfheide

The Wildpark Schorfheide is completely located in the Schorfheide-Chorin Nature Park. Here you can discover native wild animals and old domestic breeds. The wildlife park is open every day from 9am to 7pm throughout the year. Last admission is on weekdays at 17 o'clock and at the weekend at 18 o'clock. Adults pay 7 euros and children 4.50 euros admission.

Wildpark & Waldbad Dünnwald

If you spend most of your time in the center of Cologne, you will hardly notice that Cologne has 15 percent forest area. You can easily reach the thin forest in the east of the city via the wildlife park of the same name, past well-known forest animals to the forest pool. Wildpark Bilsteintal in Warstein

The wildlife park invites you to take a walk at any time of the year or day. Numerous hiking trails lead to the wildlife park. Here you can find red deer, sika deer, raccoons, lynx, wild boar and foxes. Admission is free. In the wildlife park there is a stalactite cave that can be visited during a guided tour. There is an inn attached to the wildlife park.

In the enclosures wild boars, fallow deer and red deer can be observed up close. At a vending machine you can buy special animal feed for feeding.

Wildpark Pforzheim

The Wildpark Pforzheim is beautifully situated in the middle of the forest. Admission is compensated by redeeming a parking ticket, which costs only 3 euros. You can see: goats, otters, fallow deer, "farm animals", bison, wild boar, foxes, lynx, ... The animals have relatively large retreats and are at first glance healthy and well maintained. For little money you get a lot here.

Wildpark Leipzig

Mountain Biking Highlight

One of the most attractive recreational areas in Leipzig is the Wildpark Leipzig in the southern floodplain forest. On the approx. 46 ha large area about 25 animal species with approx. 250 animals are kept. As a result, the wildlife park Connewitz complements the animal species composition with other livestock facilities in the city of Leipzig such as the Zoo Leipzig, which shows superficially exotic animals, or the pet zoo of the company Bauersfeld, where visitors can see different domestic breeds. The game park understands itself (also) as a "PR agency" for native animals and nature. It is his goal to promote species and habitat protection. The wildlife park is also an information center for the local wildlife, offers the opportunity to conduct research and is of course an attractive recreational space for visitors.

The Fasanerie is in summer as well as in winter a great destination! Ample free parking, moderate prices, friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. Pure nature to walk and relax. Here you can observe mainly domestic game in a large enclosure. My tip: Take your time, as it is often helpful to sit down and just wait. Quiet, like a hunter on the high stand, we have thus made the best observations. Shh, everybody keep quiet! Can you hear that rustling? Hearing like a lynx is an advantage in the Harz National Park. For a few years now, these shy cats of prey have been living wild in the park’s forests.

And there’s a very good chance of meet them at the lynx show enclosure at Rabenklippe near Bad Harzburg. Four lynxes live here in 10,000m² area of woodland and can be observed by visitors from a viewing platform. Every Wednesday and Saturday the lynxes are fed by the rangers; a great opportunity to experience these elegant wild animals and to learn a lot of interesting facts about them from the rangers. In the Neanderthal Valley , it’s the ice age in the game reserve. Animals from the past such as aurochs, bison and tarpan are on show for visitors here. Aurochs and tarpan (a species of European wild horse) have been considered extinct in Europe for hundreds of years, but “copies” of the primeval species have been bred at the Ice Age game reserve since 1935. Today’s domestic cattle and horses carry the genetic material of their extinct ancestors, so that by crossing original breeds, even oxen and tarpan can be bred which are very similar to their ancestors.

But the Neanderthal Valley is worth a trip for plenty of other reasons. The Neanderthal Museum introduces visitors to the original inhabitants of the Neanderthal Valley. It’s even possible to visit the location where remains of the region’s original inhabitants have been found. And the “Stone Age” playground is the perfect place to let young and older kids have a good run around. Entrance fee: € 11 for adults. Children (6-16 years) pay € 6.50.

The idyllically situated Campingpark Heidewald near Sassenberg in Münsterland was founded in the early 1960s by Heinz Austermann. Adventure Camping Mehamn is located on a small peninsula by the harbour of the the northernmost fishing village of the European Continent – Mehamn.

Choose your dream meal from our King Crab Restaurant “Kongekrabben” in advance and book your table with view of the sea and enjoy the tasty King Crab, caught in the Fjords of the Barents Sea just outside the Harbour

We offer you 29 camping lots and 5 fishermen cottages by the harbour in a quiet an relaxing maritime atmosphere, with view of the village, harbour, the fjord and the midnight sun.

• In our main building we offer 5 rooms with a shared kitchenette, showers /wc.

Service building with 6 separate bathrooms, option to rent a private bathroom, shared equipped kitchen with dish washing machines, laundry room rental, sauna.

We also offer boat rentals, filleting houses and fishing equipment rentals, kayak rentals.

Facilities for outdoor wilderness adventures all year around in a relaxing atmosphere with a panoramic view of the village of Mehamn and the Barents Sea.

KING CRAB RESTAURANT

Welcome for a dinner and relax in our Seafood restaurant. Enjoy short traveled, day fresh seafood from the Barents sea just outside of the harbour.

Taste the King Crab, Wild salmon and fresh cod – mmmm Delicious memories.

On sunny days we serve cold drinks on the outside pier of the service house and restaurant. * Main Menu applies only between May-August. The new menu will be updated May 15, 2024.

Microsoft really wants you to start using its Edge web browser

• Microsoft is adding an AI feature to its Edge web browser in an apparent bid to win more users.
• Rival web browsers Chrome and Safari are far more popular than Edge, StatCounter data shows. 
• Google added AI features for its browser in January, and Apple is rumored to roll some out too. 

Microsoft might be the most valuable listed company, but it's failed to get very many people to abandon Chrome or Safari in favor of its own web browser.

However, Edge may become a little more enticing with the addition of a new AI feature.

Microsoft plans to launch an "AI theme generator" next month that will let users create their own browser themes by using a text prompter to create images.

"Applying the theme includes setting the generated image on the Edge new tab page, and applying the image's dominant color to the browser frame," according to an update to its 365 road map.

Microsoft Edge launched in 2015 to rival web browsers Google Chrome and Apple's Safari. It was intended to replace Internet Explorer, which was retired in 2022 .

Chrome is the web browser for most internet users. Data from StatCounter shows the Google offering had a global market share of more than 65% in April. Safari had more than 18%, with Edge lagging behind on about 5%.

In January, Google announced three new generative AI features for Chrome. They include a browser theme generator, a tab organizer that suggests and creates tab groups based on a user's open tabs, and a tool called "Help Me Write" to assist users in writing pieces such as reviews.

According to Apple Insider, Apple is gearing up to launch an AI browser assistant called "Intelligent Search" that can automatically generate summaries of web pages by identifying subjects and key phrases. It's expected to be announced with the rollout of its latest iOS 18 update at its Worldwide Developers Conference next month.

Microsoft didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider, made outside normal working hours.
