Have visited the Plassey a number of times in our caravan and have just upgraded to a motorhome so wanted to try it out and make sure everything worked. We have always enjoyed our stay and this time was no different. Weather was a bit iffy (storm Dennis) but that cannot be helped. Staff were very helpful. Pitch was fully serviced which was nice. Did feel toilet blocks are very dated compared to other sites we have visited in the past 12 months. Did miss treetops and don’t think that Haybank has quite the same atmosphere. If you are a golfer it is perfect. Had a quick walk around and glamping area looked nice although some of the hot tubs seemed overlooked by the road. Overall good trip but feel for the price there are similar sites in the area with equal or more updated/modern facilities.

Upon arrival... We planned to take our Dogs but due to the weather we made alternative plans and therefore arrived without the dogs. We were not allowed a refund for the “dogs stay” as we hadn’t taken the insurance out when booking them in online. Surely it was just a case of “No problem Sir, we will take them off your bill” We were then shown to the pitches, very tight to reverse vans on to the pitch (as we were told we couldn’t drive even one tyre on the grass in the tow vehicle) I would suggest this is impossible even for the best drivers! During our stay: 1- Showers - Heating wasn’t on in the morning, we had an early tee off at a local Golf Club so the 7am Shower trip was freezing cold!!! 2 - Told to wait in a busy queue (for new arrivals) in order to re-enter the park when we had already been guests for a number of days (We and had just gone out for the day) 3 - Restrictions on time you can re-enter the park and conflicting information for “Evening Return”. Literature said 11pm, Signage said 10pm and we were told 10:30pm (or something like that) If you are not back in time you have to park outside the gate and a long way from your pitch. 4 - “Retail Village” is advertised as being on-site, “Retail Village” is defiantly a stretch! Around 4 shops of maybe 10 were open and very obscure eg Equestrian Shop, Picture Frames and other “Services” (no more than a 10 minute trip and very disappointing) 5 - We walked down to the indoor swimming pool one afternoon and it was all covered over and shut up. We just gave up on that idea with the unhelpful communications already experienced from reception upon arrival and coming in and out of the park. (As previously mentioned) 6 - The Barrier in to the park drove us mad with constantly having to get out The car to enter the code when arriving (acceptable) and LEAVING (not acceptable)! No number plate recognition or “Easy Out” system here! So on to the positive points: 1 - Toilets and Showers clean 2 - On site restaurant was very good indeed 3 - Hardstanding Pitches in good order That’s my honest summary - We wouldn’t return based on the customer service and facilities.

So this was our first time away with our tourer caravan... we had a lot to learn, the weather was awful the wind put us back a day - but Margaret saved my bacon by adding a day on to the end of the holiday, Steven was totally brilliant couldn't be more helpful in setting us up - pointing out some rookie errors! The kids absolutely loved the indoor swimming pool - not the warmest but clean and plenty of space for us, and absolute essential with the weather being so bad ! Everyone was kind and generous with their time. The Golf club bar was quite but again friendly (we where out of season - our half term was a week earlier than most schools) and the kids loved the pizzas, shame we couldn't go on the golf course -just too wet. The Shippon restaurant was fantastic for lunch and dinner and the little retail park was a real bonus. We went to two exercise (boot camp) groups run by Gary totally body work out hard core but worth the pain ! ( very accommodating let our two kids sit in so we could both take part) Only negatives would be the communal hairdryers are awfully slow! I wonder if there would be questions in peak season? So take your own ! days out - NT Erddig near by very nice, and the science park Techniquest Glyndwr was amazing for our two aged 6 and 10. both have super people to chat about their parks.

• Sleep Quality

We stayed in one of the luxury lodges with a hot tub, and it really was a relaxing four day break. The facilities, restaurants and shops on site are excellent and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Will recommend to friends and would go back again.

I never leave reviews but this stay was incredible! Myself and my boyfriend stayed in one of the lodges, which I absolutely could not recommend more. Everything about it was luxury, from the wooden exterior to the hot tub and even a dyson hairdryer. I knew it would be great from the pictures but it honestly exceeded by expectations. I would advice stocking up on food and drink if you’re there for a few nights (and don’t want to keep going to the restaurant) as the shop on site can be closed sometimes early hours.

This wasn’t our first time here but the first since lockdown.Although not all the amenities were open the Haybank cafe and ice cream shop provided a excellent service.The site was in superb condition and the staff all worked so hard and were very helpful and friendly,our twin grandsons visited on Tuesday and had a wonderful time at the play ground then had a lovely lunch at the Haybank.we are back in a few weeks time so see you all soon

You cannot fault the beautiful Studio Lodges @ Plassey. Modern design, clean, spacious and a real home from home. My partner & I couldn’t be happier with the service received and amenities on offer. Very helpful & friendly staff. Super comfy beds & brilliant hot tub which is serviced 3 times a day. Great 9 hole golf course which my partner enjoyed playing as he is an avid golfer. I’ve already recommended to most of my family & friends! We will be back! :)

Great park and plenty to do for children. Facilities and toilets outstanding. Everything kept immaculately clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The children's play area is very good, there is really no need to leave the park.

Luxury Glamping​

Rackery Retreat is a  luxury Glamping site located on the  North Wales border near the picturesque village of Burton and only 7 miles from the Roman city of Chester. Rackery Retreat is home to three fully equipped safari tents with built in kitchens, bathrooms and luxury private hot tubs. 

Two of the luxury tents accommodate 4 people and one accommodates six, they are perfect for families , couples or groups looking for a luxury escape to the country.  

When trying to locate us please follow the postcode LL12 0AD and look for the white sign and stone sign on the entrance to Rackery Farm and follow directions into Rackery Retreat. 

We operate a two night minimum stay in all of our tents, check in is from 3:30pm onwards in all tents and check out is 10am. 

We do welcome your furry friends to stay with you during your stay however there is a small cleaning fee to cover this payable at the time of booking.

This Texas Glamping Property Near Austin Has Safari Tents With Wrap-around Decks and Is Next to a State Park

Outdoorsy Hill Country is tucked in the rolling Texas hills near the state's iconic wine trail.

If you need another reason to visit the Texas Hill Country , consider this: the rolling landscape is now home to a luxury glamping retreat with safari tents surrounded by wrap-around decks and a spring-fed lake. The new property, Outdoorsy Hill Country , is both the latest addition to the Texas Hill Country and the newest property in the Outdoorsy portfolio, an RV rental marketplace that is making a name for itself for its glamping-style retreats. 

Outdoorsy Hill Country is nestled in Stonewall, Texas, between Austin and Fredericksburg on 32 acres. The property is expansive, with a spring-fed lake, walking trails, and a grove of live oaks. The day starts and ends with one of Texas’ spectacular sunrises and sunsets — best viewed from the wrap-around deck enveloping each of the property’s 22 safari tents. 

“Our vision was to create an iconic destination that fuses rustic charm, immersive outdoor experiences, and refined Hill Country hospitality for thoughtful travelers from Texas and beyond,” Jeff Cavins, Outdoorsy's CEO, said in a press release shared with Travel + Leisure .

Jen Young, the co-founder and CMO of Outdoorsy, added, "We fell in love with Hill Country when we built a glamping tent for ourselves … we couldn't be more delighted to share this space with guests who are seeking out the restoration that time in nature provides.”

While nature may be the focus of a stay at Outdoorsy Hill Country, the highlight is the lodging. Each all-season glamping tent is surrounded by a panoramic deck and private fire pit.

Inside, there’s a king-size bed and a twin and trundle bed to sleep two to four people and full temperature control, with both heat and air-conditioning on tap. Rounding out the offerings are a fully equipped kitchenette and a private ensuite bathroom with a rainshower and plush robes.

Beyond the privacy of your secluded hideaway, you’ll find a handful of on-property offerings, including a cafe and bar with outdoor seating overlooking the neighboring Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and a menu that features juices, smoothies, and grab-and-go breakfast options in the morning and craft cocktails and local wines at night.

The live oaks provide shelter for the outdoor live music venue, while the country store sells everything you need to grill or assemble an afternoon picnic.

Further afield, guests can explore the Texas Wine Trail , which is on the doorstep of Outdoorsy Hill Country. (Plus, the Crown Hill Winery is right next door).
