1. “You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.” ~ Rumi

In other words, you are crafted with the intelligence of the entire Universe. Quantum physicists have said that if you take one photon of light and send it through a black hole, that single photon of light would carry with it all the information of the Universe. We are all holographic beings.

2. “Out beyond the ideas of wrong doing and right doing, there is a field. I will meet you there.” ~ Rumi

Beyond the realm of thought, there is a spaciousness: a massive field from where we all come from.. This spaciousness which we may experience when we feel beyond the limits of our physical body is the beginning of experiencing the Soul energetic intelligence.

3. “Gratitude is the wine for the soul. Go on. Get drunk.” ~ Rumi

The emotion of gratitude has so much energy that people get uplifted when we express it. Gratitude gets us drunk with a different texture of love that makes us realize (real eyes) the beauty and marvel of life.

4. “My religion is love. Every heart is my temple.” ~ Rumi

We are all interconnected. We are so much more connected to all beings and life forms on this planet than we can mentally understand. Genetically, the most distant person to us in the planet is our 50th cousin. When we look at it as a parabola, the average person may have five first cousins and five 50th cousins. The rest of the seven billion plus living people fall within the fifteenth to the 35th cousin range. We may have at least a billion family members from the first to the fifteenth cousin/uncle/aunt/nephew/niece range.

5. “Set your life on fire. Seek those who fan your flames.” ~ Rumi

Live passionately. Live boldly in the direction of the dreams that are calling you. When you live passionately, you will be called to other souls and they to you to support your personal and collective evolution. Connect together and light up the world.

6. “Love is the whole thing. We are only pieces.” ~ Rumi

We’re all made of love. We’re all one. We’re all loved. This is truly a beautiful quote.

7. “The soul has been given its own ears to hear things the mind does not understand.” ~ Rumi

The soul is a post-rational intelligence. Its a higher tier of intelligence beyond the mental intelligence. The soul has intuition, can sense the truth and just know in the moment where the mind seeks rational logic, facts, thoughts and reasoning. The soul recognizes the serendipity and synchronicity in the moment. The soul can pick up messages that come from a realm beyond words.

8. “When the world pushes you to your knees, you’re in the perfect position to pray.” ~ Rumi

When we can be with suffering, we can surrender to grace. Even the deepest suffering has to turn to joy with pure awareness, acknowledgement and acceptance .

9. “Submit to love without thinking.” ~ Rumi

Pleasure is in the body, happiness in the mind and joy and love is in the spirit. Love exists at a realm beyond the mind, beyond rules and conditioning. All love is unconditional, anything else is something with the label of love but its really about control. Give up to love, its who you are and what matters most.

10. “My soul is my guide.” ~ Rumi

This is the cornerstone of living the soulfully optimized life. Its living the life you’re called to live moment to moment. We get the calling from post-rational intelligences that orchestrate all of life. There’s a calling in every moment and it gets “texted” to our soul when we know who we’re called to connect with, what we’re called to do, give, receive. When we live life trusting our soul as our guide, live becomes a high-definition experience.

11. “Let yourself become living poetry.” ~ Rumi

We become living poetry when we let our soul become our guide for our life and we act on our intuition. By the way, intuition does not scream, it whispers…are you listening?

12. “You have to keep breaking your heart until it opens.” ~ Rumi

Your heart was not broken, your heart was broken open to feeling what truly matters: love. In fact, I did this 10 day vipassana meditation retreat and on the final meditation I had an insight that changed everything. I was the last one in the room, voraciously questioning what the purpose of life was. I got an answer that felt like a gong of truth: to love and be loved. Tears dropped as i acknowledged what mattered most. After all, love is what we all want, most of us just set up too many crazy rules for how to get love. Some people believe they need to be perfect, some people believe they need to become a billionaire, some people believe they need to have big enough problems, and some people believe they need to contribute to the lives of others. All of them are looking to fulfill needs, and love is one of the most important ones.

Your heart is the pinnacle of life; its what jump starts your life and when it shuts down, its the end of your life. Our heart is what connects us to all other souls and the mothership of life. And its ever so easy to love; they key is to let the heart be in charge, not the mind. One simple way you can do that is just to put your hands over your heart and breathe in your nose and out your mouth…focusing on the energy of your heart as you expand your chests with the inhale and contract with the exhale.

13. “I want to sing like the birds sing, not worrying who listens or what they think.” ~ Rumi

Give yourself the permission to be authentic and live the life you love. Create your art and give your gifts freely.

14. “Know then that the body is merely a garment. Go seek the wearer, not the cloak.” ~ Rumi

See someone for their soul. When you see someone for their soul, everything changes. There’s a calling for why you are both together now and when you can see them for their soul, you click with the purpose of the gifts you’re here to exchange.

15. “Stop acting so small. You are the entire universe in ecstatic motion.” ~ Rumi

Dream big. Don’t limit yourself on what you can do, what you can become and the life you can live. Its a dream, it doesn’t need to be “realistic”. Just giving yourself the opportunity to dream big will open you up to new possibilities that you refused to see before.

The main reason I see most people dreaming smaller than they can or deserve to is out of fear of being rejected if they fail. Here’s the truth, you are loved in every moment. The universe has unconditional love for all beings. you have gifts and talents unique to you, and they are valuable…beyond a price tag. The essence that animates you comes from a timeless essence that is pure love.

So dream big. Go beyond your biggest dreams you can imagine. The world deserves to see you at your best, so start by letting yourself dream at your best.

16. “All doubt, despair and fear become insignificant when the intention of life becomes love.” ~ Rumi

Choose love, be love. Ultimately we have the choice to choose love or fear in any moment. Love is where we come from and where go, and what we’re called to bring in this experience of life. It requires our focus, intention and energy, and its a lot more effortless than we know.

17. “I crave a love so deep the ocean would be jealous.” ~ Rumi

Wow. All i suggest is being with this quote.

18. “Do not feel lonely. The entire universe is inside you.” ~ Rumi

This is a great reminder for anybody who feels lonely! Lonesomeness exists in the illusion of separation. ITS AN ILLUSION!

19. “The wound is the place where the Light enters you.” ~ Rumi

When we are wounded in life, we feel like something was withheld from us, we feel like something was taken away from us, the protective barrier that we create known as the “ego”, or the separate sense of self, is fractured and broken open. What exists beyond the ego is God. An acronym for “ego” is “Edging God Out”. When we can be with our pains and wounds, our losses and failures, we gain humility, compassion, and surrender to the energies of creation. Then, we can be a bringer of the light for others, since we ourselves know what it’s like to have been deprived of light, love, joy, gratitude, resources, compassion, kindness, visibility, dignity,  etc.

20. “When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy.” ~ Rumi

When you’re living Soulfully, you’re connected with not just the river within you but the river of life. its joy, Its bliss. Joseph Campbell talks about following your bliss, this is what he means.

21. “Travel brings power and love back into your life.” ~ Rumi

For those who have traveled, especially solo-backpacked, its amazing how enriching life becomes. You get to experience the magic of mystery, adventure and exploration. serendipity and synchronicity feels like its on hyperdrive.

22. “They say there is a doorway from heart to heart, but what is the use of a door when there are no walls?” ~ Rumi

And there you have it! 22 inspirational quotes by Rumi and interpretations of their meanings by me.

I love Rumi and I believe the #1 is not Rumi’s quote, but a Rumi’s misquote. Some people (on reddit, etc.) have discussed whether the #1 is actually Rumi’s, turns out it was misquoted from his poem A Garden Beyond Paradise. If the quote is supposed to be the shortened version of some last lines of that poem, it should be “You are not JUST a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop, too.”

Thank you for sharing, Rona. I’m not entirely sure on which is the exact translation from the way it was written in Farsi, but fortunately, they both carry the same meaning. That meaning is that the entire Universe/Cosmos/God is within us.

“The soul has been given its own ears to hear things the mind does not understand.”

This, for me, is very profound and too beautiful

It’s one of my favorites as well, Eesha. Thank you for sharing! If you haven’t seen this before, check out Facebook.com/RumiQuotesOfficial. There’s hundreds of quotes and poems on that page.

“The cure for pain is in the pain”. (Rumi) Someone please eloborate meaning of this quote.

Pain is information. The purpose of pain is to interrupt our life. When we can be with the pain, we can receive the information, and in that, we find a new cure for our lives…guiding us in a more wholesome direction.

Hi All Great Quotes from Rumi. I like all of them but I really need reference for the quote “Set your life on fire, seek those who fan your flames”

' src=

Please explain me; This place is a dream only dreamers consider it real

This world of material is but one dimension of reality. People get caught up with material reality as the only reality, or even as the primary reality. However, all things come from no-thing, different dimensions of reality that are formless, spacious, infinite, and free-flowing, wave-form energy and information. We can observe the primary state of all material as energy and information. Energy organizes information. Energy is light and information is sound/frequency/acoustic waves/vibration. The structures of our bodymind, life, relationships, business, everything organizes depending on how much energy we choose to focus on coherently in relation to that. Only dreamers believe in this material reality as a reality, but in reality, everything we see around us that appears so solid is transient and can transform, change form, based on how we observe it. We don’t see the world around us as it is, we see the world around us as we are. Mastering our inner world of perception is how we ultimately change the world around us. With that perspective, life is indeed dreamlike and we have the gift of being able to dream new possibilities into existence from the timeless void of pure silence. The actual translation says sleepers, not dreamers, and what Rumi means by that is people who are sleepwalking through life, living in the fantasy of this material reality, eyes-wide-shut to the true nature of reality. The quote continues to say: “Then death comes like dawn, and you wake up laughing at what you thought was your grief”. This has multiple meanings.

In one case, it’s talking about how death is not the end, but a new beginning. When you once thought you were at the end of your life, you wake up to a new dimension, returning to the primary reality where all is love, light, energy, consciousness. A different meaning it also suggests is the death of the ego. People spend their whole lives living to prove themselves, to prove others wrong, to become a somebody, to fortify the independence of “I”, to protect their sense of self…and when we’re ripped apart by love, the light of truth, we wake up laughing from the illusions of the mind as the “I” dissolves into the “We”. The full poem goes on and the theme of what Rumi is stating is that there is a primary reality that is infinite consciousness, that’s infinitely aware, and that is always guiding the evolution of us, all we must do is be silent and listen to this innate guidance.

' src=

I was wondering about ego death a few days ago; thank you for the enlightening explanation here.

' src=

What is the meaning of : You think because you understand ‘ONE’ you must also understand ‘TWO’ because ‘one and one’ make ‘two’. But you must also understand ‘and’ “RUMI”

“And” represents the field between all things that unifies us together. Call it love, if you may.

' src=

Light is made of sound. Illusion is a vibration and so is truth. Loved all the interpretations. much Love

' src=

Thank you so much for collecting such a precious Rumi quotes. Allah bless you

rumi-quotes

Rumi’s quotes have the power to inspire and uplift individuals, as they offer a glimpse into the essence of life and the human experience. When we read deep and meaningful quotes of Rumi, we get astonished for a while for the reason that he could touch the basics of human existence and put it in so simple words for us to understand!

Although, most of us are aware about who Rumi was, here’s a short glance about him.

Jalaluddin Rumi, widely known as Rumi was a 13th-century Persian poet, jurist, Islamic scholar, theologian, and Sufi mystic. He was born in Balkh, which is now in Afghanistan, but spent most of his life in Konya, Turkey. Rumi’s poetry, which is written in Persian, has been translated into English and many other languages and has gained widespread popularity throughout the world. He is considered to be one of the greatest poets of all time and his works continue to inspire millions of people.

Rumi’s poetry is characterized by its themes of love, spirituality, and the search for meaning. His writings often reflect his Sufi beliefs, which emphasize the importance of spiritual experiences over religious doctrine. Rumi’s work is known for its passionate and emotional tone, which is often expressed through metaphor and allegory. His poems are timeless and offer deep insights into the human condition, making them relevant to people of all cultures and backgrounds.

Before we dwell into his quotes, let us read one of the most popular poems by Rumi, The Guest House .

The Guest House Jalaluddin Rumi

This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still, treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.

150 Captivating Rumi Quotes to Help You Enjoy Life

Yiannis Kalliantas Quotes inspirational , philosophy , poets , quotes by a single personality

It’s not a coincidence that the poetry and quotes of the great mystic, poet and philosopher from the 13th century Persia is still widely read and studied by scholars and common people alike. The simplicity of his poems combined with his accuracy on expressing the true nature of the human soul make him accessible to everyone, making him one of the great masters of global culture .

Rumi proposes a way of life based on truth and not on the conventions of everyday life which are regarded to be a kind of prison that most people spend their lives in. Love is a reoccurring topic in his poems, presented as a path to wisdom and a destination at the same time. His concept that everything is a part of a greater whole is a rather modern idea, explored even by scientists nowadays. This concept of Sufi teachings has become a tool for modern societies to understand the link which connects humans and nature to the great power that moves the universe.

Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rūmī, widely known by the name Rumi, was a renowned Persian poet, Sufi mystic and Islamic scholar born in 1207 in either Balkh (a town in present-day Afghanistan) or Wakhsh (in present-day Tajikistan). Rumi’s lineage was filled with seasoned Islamic jurists, mystics, and theologians, including his own father, who was a well-known theologian and Hanafi jurist. Throughout his life, Rumi was inspired greatly by his father as well as the famous Persian poets Sanai and Attar. Around 1220, to escape the invasion of the Mongols, Rumi’s father Baha’ ud-Din safely led his entire family and a group of followers thousands of miles west, passing through a number of cities before finally settling in the city of Karaman and, some years later, in Konya (both located in present-day Turkey). Turkey was a country in which he not only spent the majority of his adult life but also wrote most of his poetry. In Konya, Rumi’s father was made a teacher and the head of one of the city’s many madrassas (religious school for the study of Islam). Upon his father’s death, Rumi took over his father’s position at the madrassa, became a prominent Islamic Jurist and began issuing Islamic religious rulings and moving from one mosque to another to preach. The loss of a dear friend and instructor inspired Rumi to write one of his most famous masterpieces known in English as The Works of Shams of Tabriz , followed by Masnavi , It Is What It Is , The Letters , and Seven Sessions . Following his demise in 1273, most of his major works were taught and made famous in the West by the renowned American scholar Shahram Shiva. Today, in the western world, Rumi’s teachings are much accepted as a foundation to the beliefs of Sufism. Despite his death several centuries ago, today Rumi is one of the most widely read poets in many parts of the world, including in the United States, where he is considered the best selling poet in the country. His poems have also served as a foundation for classical music from several countries and have even appeared on top of the U.S. music charts on a number of occasions.

travel quote rumi

10 Quotes from Rumi which inspires to think out of the box

Rumi, the 13th-century popular Sufi poet, still holds relevance, even in the 20th century.

Rumi’s quotes on love, life, soul, beauty, and more are among the internet’s favorite content.

Be it a college-going graduate or a philosopher, both of them can share a waah s and wows , admiring the words of Rumi.

But, here’s an interesting twist to the 13th-century poet’s work, Rumi’s poetry can give you the inspiration to work, build brands and also curate content for your company

So, let’s inspect 10 Rumi quotes that inspire us to think out of the box.

1. “Be with those who help your being.”

Rumi preaches to surround ourselves with people who help us grow.

Isn’t this true? Not just for humans but for all creatures of the universe. We flourish and bloom when we are cared for, nurtured and loved.

With kindness and a positive atmosphere, we can move mountains by just holding on to happiness and hope.

This should also be made the golden rule for companies too. Any entrepreneur building a workforce must work with people who help them grow.

On the contrary, you can also witness the negative effect if you work with people who don’t mean well to you.

In the Solomon Islands, people take down trees by just cursing them.

When people want a tree out of their way on Solomon Island, they don’t cut it. The people of the island just gather around the tree for 30 days and curse the tree.

The negative energy and the lack of affection puts the tree down naturally.

Taking from this story and Rumi, we should acknowledge the power of having positive people around.

Be with people who would celebrate and grow with you.

2. “It is your light that lights the world.”

If Rumi would have written this quote in 2022, this quote would be categorized under the genre of self-love.

Perhaps, readers need a poet in every era to remind them to not be so harsh on themselves.

We must remember that each of us is building the world’s present and future.

This quote reminds us about how we uniquely add to the world.

A living instance of this is how we as a united world fought COVID.

Each of us illuminates joy, love and passion around you, in your world.

3. “Let the beauty of what you love be what you do.”

Be it in your life or career, follow your heart.

To do what you love is like visiting your favorite holiday destination every day.

If we fall in love with what we do, we look at work with passion, and the beauty of it will show.

Be it reading a book, traveling, or cracking a complex code, show your love for it and look at the ecstasy you will experience.

A fun fact about successful brands too is that they hold on to consistency. They work towards perfection every day, making it the secret of their success.

4. “The garden of the world has no limits, except in your mind.”

Frame this quote on your wall.

If you are aspiring to build brands, be an entrepreneur or are an artist, print this up on a mug and place it by your office desk.

As humans, we set our own boundaries and limit our imagination.

Rumi reminds us of our own limitations, self reservations and barriers we build for ourselves.

Reminding us to look beyond our own minds.

Don’t you agree?

To challenge yourself, you can take it up as a regular activity to untrain your mind and set it free. Free to imagine, free to live and discover its own ways.

By challenging your thoughts, you can come up with amazing ideas for your work and creatively exercise your mind.

5. “Everything in the universe is within you. Ask all from yourself.”

This is an ask to look out for fulfillment and holiness within oneself, an empowering declaration of independent living.

Rumi’s inspiring us to look at ourselves as a whole.

Serving for our own needs, independently, wholly and completely catering to ourselves as we are capable of doing so.

Learning from Rumi, everything you need from the universe, allow yourself to give it to yourself. Be it empathy, care, love, support or even motivation.

Inspire yourself to be a better version of yourself from yesterday.

6. “If all you can do is crawl, start crawling”

Taking inspiration from Rumi’s quote, let’s take that. To travel a long way, taking a small step every day is better than taking a strained jump at once.

As learners we should start doing as much as we can with how much we know, the rest will come along.

Begin. Do. Rather than wait.

If you are aspiring to own a business or start a new hobby, you should go ahead and start.

Rumi pushes you to pursue your dreams.

Be it building a brand or owning a business, it might just be the key to your future success.

Crawl, for now, you can hold a grip and start walking later.

7. “Don’t make yourself miserable with what is to come or not to come.”

So many books, movies, quotes and what not remind us to live in the present. But, Rumi said it best.

Stating the action and its hard-hitting consequences in a remarkable way, Rumi reminds us that we fail to live our present.

Engrossed in the ‘what ifs’, we cause our own misery for things that might or might not happen in the future.

Tame your mind to challenge your thoughts, to live in the present and let the worries of tomorrow fade away.

8. “Inside you is an artist you don’t know about.”

Just like Rumi inspired us to look with and unleash the barriers we draw for ourselves. He urges us to look within to find the artist that resides in us.

Some of us might be visual thinkers, creative thinkers, or even artistic mathematicians.

Be it the craftsmanship of words, color or numbers, each of us is capable of artistic skill.

Look out for your skill, work on your kind of art. Especially in the 20th century, brands help and promote talented artists.

So, if you feel you have an artist in you, you should go for it and explore your unexplored hidden talents. Because each of us is gifted with a uniqueness waiting to be discovered.

Exploring a new skill or talent might just surprise you with ultimate joy.

9. “Sell your cleverness and buy bewilderment. Cleverness is mere opinion. Bewilderment brings intuitive knowledge.”

Reading Rumi’s quotes fuels the fire in one’s life.

He inspires and motivates us to be excited, to feel, to passionately seek surprises.

In yet another inspiring quote he states that cleverness is an opinion while bewilderment brings knowledge.

Allowing you to be curious, wild and perplexed by wonder, you are open to experiences and lessons, isn’t that marvelously true?

Most times our smartness holds us back from re-discovering what it feels like to taste the first batch of seasonal fruit, just because we assume it will make us ill.

Perhaps if you are seeking inspiration, you can start by wandering with bewilderment.

10. “You have to keep breaking your heart until it opens.”

Out of Rumi’s treasure box, this one is my personal favorite. This quote is an ode to the journey of success and struggles.

Those who keep moving forward with perseverance despite the difficulties uncover the best of what life has to offer.

Anyone working with a creative, advertising, or branding agency might connect with this the most, as branding experts work towards perfection and face struggles until they have a million-dollar idea.

To not repeat the same errors, you have to make them first.

So, it’s as true as it gets, you will break until life brings out the best of you.

Ed Dwight is Finally Going to Space, 60 Years Later

Back in the sixties, an American named Ed Dwight thought he would be the first Black astronaut in space. He never made it, but years later, the 90-year-old is preparing for his inaugural flight.

A Hopeful Mission

View of Earth and satellite

In 1961, President John. F. Kennedy selected Air Force member Ed Dwight to enter a training program that would pave the way to NASA’s Astronaut Corps, reports CBS News . It was an opportunity that meant Dwight would become the first Black astronaut.

“I thought these dudes were crazy,” he recalled. Still, he went through the training and completed the program two years later. The Air Force recommended that he join the corps, but surprisingly, he wasn’t selected.

“So, all these white folks that I'm dealing with, I mean, my peers, the other guys that were astronaut candidates, and the leadership was just horrified at the idea of my coming down to Edwards and the president appointing me to the position,” Dwight said.

When Kennedy was assassinated, so was Dwight's journey to space. He left the Air Force in 1966 to pursue art and spent the next 60 years creating sculptures of iconic figures in Black history. According to CBS , more than 130 of Dwight’s pieces have been shown in public spaces and museums.

Meanwhile, it wasn’t until 1983 that the first Black astronaut, Guion Bluford, actually reached space.

A Second Chance

Dwight is now 90 years old, but he never gave up his dream of going to space. Sixties years later, it’s finally happening. The man is one of six civilians who will board the upcoming June Blue Origin flight to the edge of space.

The company, which was founded by Jeff Bezos, has already completed 22 successful space missions. Many of those flights have included celebrities, like Michael Strahan and William Shatner.

When Shatner flew into space in 2021, he became the oldest man to do so at 90 years old. Now, Dwight will tie that record with his $250,000 ticket, which is sponsored by Space for Humanity .

Sometimes a dream may seem too far-fetched to ever become a reality. Or perhaps you were on the road to realizing a dream, but something came up, and it just didn’t happen. This story proves that sometimes a dream might not happen the way you thought it would, but that doesn’t mean it can’t still come true.

Dwight's upcoming journey into the atmosphere, where he’ll experience weightlessness and a spectacular view of space and Earth, isn’t what he initially thought his journey to space would be like. Yet he’s still going, and in that way, his dream is coming true.

The takeaway for all of us is that we should never be afraid to dream, and to dream big. Sure, the dream might not come true, but by giving up you’re ensuring that it won’t. Dreams give us a sense of purpose and meaning, and the more we invest in them, the more complete we can be.

Sometimes it may take a whole lifetime, but as Edwards proves, dreams do come true.

USPS Worker Hand Delivers Lost World War 2 Letters to Woman

There's something special about a letter; just ask Alvin Gauthier. As a U.S. postal worker for the past 20 years, he's seen his fair share.

So when he stumbled across some long-lost letters postmarked 1942, Gauthier delivered. Literally.

He hopped in his car and drove TEN HOURS round-trip — on his day off and at his own expense — to ensure they finally reached their destination...82 years later.

Better Late Than Never

Alvin Gauthier, a USPS carrier from Grande Prairie, Texas, hand-delivered WW-II era long lost letters to soldier's family.

Gauthier, a mail carrier in Grande Prairie, Texas, discovered the cache of WWII-era letters when they inexplicably landed in his mailbag one day.

"I was getting ready for my route and found some letters that were dated back to 1942, so World War II," Gauthier told NBC affiliate KXAS-TV .

"My main thought was I have to find this family." Alvin Gauthier via KXAS-TV

The letters, some typed and some hand-written, were obviously from a soldier to his parents, "Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lamb."

As a military veteran himself, Gauthier recognized the historical value and sentimental importance of his find. He understands the impact letters have on boosting a soldier's morale, having written and received letters from his own parents during his tour in Iraq.

He made it his mission to get the letters home.

Simply addressed to Jacksonville, Alabama and without a physical address, he didn't have much to go by. But this was one mystery he was determined to solve.

Using the clues he did have, a military return address and the recipients' names, Gauthier enlisted the help of local media in Little Rock, Arkansas.

They delivered. After running the story, Gauthier received several emails and phone calls from people from all over. He was able to track down JoAnn Smith, the soldier's sister.

WWII soldier Marion W. Lamb

Rather than putting the letters back in the mail, Gauthier decided to hand-deliver the precious correspondence. On his first day off, he hopped in the car and drove 5 hours across state lines to reunite JoAnn with her brother's legacy.

"I could have stuck them in the mail, but it's kinda like sometimes you have to go above and beyond," he said.

"Just go the extra mile … or 379 miles.”

When the veteran arrived at Smith's door with the letters, she was shocked...and thrilled.

“I’m very excited and very tearful,” a crying Smith told Fox affiliate KLRT-TV about the moment. “For me, it’s a connection to my family.”

Smith was only two years old when her older brother, Marion Lamb, went off to fight in WWII. He served in the South Pacific with the 96th Infantry Division, his unit earning the Philippine Republic Presidential Citation Badge for their bravery. He passed away in 2010, at the age of 89.

Smith is the last remaining sibling out of six kids. The letters mean the world to her.

The Importance of Connection

JoAnn Smith is reunited with letters written by her older brother, Marion, during WWII

After more than eight decades, these long-lost letters finally came home.

Gauthier didn't just deliver letters, he delivered priceless memories. For Smith, they are so much more than mere words on the page, they are a tangible link to her brother and the past. It's a gift she'll never forget.

“I just appreciate Alvin,” Smith told KLRT-TV. “He has really gone out of his way and people connect on different levels and I feel as connected to Alvin as I do my family.”

Speaker Mike Johnson of Shreveport calls Trump hush money trial a sham on courthouse steps

travel quote rumi

Republican U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson of Shreveport was on site Tuesday at Donald Trump's hush money trial in New York to defend the former president, calling the proceedings a "sham."

"This is the fifth week that President Trump has been in court for this sham of a trial," Johnson said outside the courthouse. "They are doing this intentionally to keep him here and keep him off of the campaign trail. And I think everybody in the country can see that for what it is.

"I am disgusted by what is happening here, what is being done here to our entire system of justice overall. The people are losing faith, right now, in this country, in our institutions. They're losing faith in our system of justice. And the reason for that is because they see it being abused as it is being done here in New York."

Trump has already secured the Republican nomination for president for his fall rematch with Democratic President Joe Biden.

The former president is accused of paying hush money to keep porn star Stormy Daniels quiet before the 2016 election about her claim of a sexual episode with Trump while he was married, which Trump has denied.

Johnson has long been a supporter of Trump and was part of the former president's inner circle during his second impeachment trial.

"The crime that they are accusing President Trump of is falsification of business records, but I think everybody knows he is not the bookkeeper for his company," Johnson said. "President Trump is innocent of these charges, and again, anyone with common sense can understand what is happening here. In the midst of all this nonsense and corruption, they have placed a ridiculous and unprecedented gag order on President Trump. They are overriding his constitutional right to defend himself from political smears from his harshest critics at the most important time."

"These are politically motivated trials, and they are a disgrace. It is election interference, and they show how desperate the opposition that President Trump has and how desperate they truly are."

Live life as if its rigged in your favor.

A woman is a mystery to guide a wise and open man.

In Silence there is eloquence.

Always remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think and twice as beautiful as you'd ever imagined. Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself

Till man destroys "self" he is no true friend of God.

The Inspiration You Seek Is Already Within You. Be Silent And Listen.

Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because for those who love with heart and soul there is no such thing as separation.

It's your road & yours alone. Others may walk it with you, but no one can walk it for you

In this life many demolitions are actually renovations.

Do you pay regular visits to yourself? Start now.

A Candle never Loses any of its Light while Lighting up another candle.

When I run after what I think I want, my days are a furnace of stress and anxiety; if I sit in my own place of patience, what I need flows to me, and without pain. From this I understand that what I want also wants me, is looking for me and attracting me. There is a great secret here for anyone who can grasp it.

Whenever you are alone, remind yourself that God has sent everyone else away so that there is only you and Him.

Do not grieve over any joy that has gone forever, for it will return to you in another form, know that for sure.

Stop learning. Start knowing

You are not just the drop in the ocean. You are the mighty ocean in the drop.

As you start to walk on the way, the way appears.

We carry inside us the wonders we seek outside us.

Raise your words, not voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder.

To love is human. To feel pain is human. Yet to still love despite the pain is pure angel.

What you are seeking is also seeking you.

Listen with ears of tolerance! See through the eyes of compassion! Speak with the language of love

The quieter we become, the more we can hear.

Many of the faults you see in others, dear reader, are your own nature reflected in them.
