  • Passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your stay.  For additional details about travel into and within Schengen countries, please see our  Schengen fact sheet .
  • You may enter  Denmark for up to  90 days for tourist purposes  without a visa.
  • Further useful information, in English and Danish, can be found on the  Danish Immigration Service website .
  • If you are a  student or prospective student , your student visa allows you to enter 30 days prior to the start of your program and remain for 14 days after the end of your program. More detailed information is available on the  Danish Immigration Service website .
  • Greenland and the Faroe Islands  are not party to the Schengen Agreement; however, you may travel to either location for 90 days for business or tourism purposes without a visa.
  • Residence and work permits issued exclusively for Greenland or the Faroe Islands are not valid for travel to Schengen countries.

Traveling Through Europe : If you are planning to visit or travel through European countries, you should be familiar with the requirements of the Schengen Agreement .

  • Your passport should be valid for  at least six months beyond the period of stay.  If you plan on transiting a Schengen country review our  U.S. Travelers in Europe page .
  • You will need s ufficient proof of funds  and a  return plane ticket .
  • For additional information about visas for the Schengen area, see the  Schengen Visa page.

HIV/AIDS Restrictions: The U.S. Department of State is unaware of any HIV/AIDS entry restrictions for visitors to or foreign residents of Denmark.

Find information on  dual nationality,   prevention of international child abduction  and  customs regulations  on our websites.

Safety and Security

Terrorism: Credible information indicates terrorist groups continue plotting possible attacks in Europe. European governments are taking action to guard against terrorist attacks; however, all European countries remain potentially vulnerable to attacks from transnational terrorist organizations.  Terrorists are increasingly using less sophisticated methods of attack - including knives, firearms, and vehicles – to more effectively target crowds. Frequently, their aim is unprotected or vulnerable targets, such as:

  • High-profile public events (sporting contests, political rallies, demonstrations, holiday events, celebratory gatherings, etc.)
  • Hotels, clubs, and restaurants frequented by tourists
  • Places of worship
  • Shopping malls and markets
  • Public transportation systems (including subways, buses, trains, and scheduled commercial flights)

For more information, see our  Terrorism  page.

Crime: Organized crime groups operate in Denmark, including in and around Copenhagen. Travelers should be aware of their surroundings and immediately leave the area if they feel threatened. In response to crime, police may establish “Search Zones” (“visitationszoner” in Danish) and stop and search individuals.

Pickpockets  and  purse-snatchers  operate aggressively in areas frequented by tourists, as well as on trains and buses, and at transit stations, including Copenhagen Central Station, Copenhagen Airport, and cruise ship quays. Do not place any bags containing valuables, such as your passport or credit cards, on the ground or on the back of a chair in public places, such as restaurants, bars, and cafes.  Watch your laptop and mobile devices, which are particularly desirable to thieves. U.S. citizens are encouraged to review the  OSAC Crime and Safety Report  for more information on crime in the Kingdom of Denmark.

When traveling or living in the Kingdom of Denmark, you should:

  • Be aware of the local security situation and take appropriate steps to bolster your personal security.
  • Monitor media and local information sources , and factor updated information into personal travel plans and activities.
  • Address specific safety concerns to Danish law enforcement authorities who have responsibility for the safety and security of all residents and visitors.
  • Exercise caution if in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.
  • If stopped by the police, cooperate and be prepared to present identification.

Freetown Christiania , located in the Christianshavn area of Copenhagen, is known for  illicit drug activity . Drug enforcement efforts have resulted in clashes between the police and Christiania residents.  Christiania residents have imposed a strict no-photography policy; tourists have been  assaulted  and  robbed  for taking pictures. Police and emergency services are limited in Christiania.

Demonstrations  occur regularly in Denmark. They may take place in response to political or economic issues, on holidays, or during international events.

  • Demonstrations can be unpredictable, avoid areas around protests and demonstrations.

Bear in mind that large public gatherings can affect transportation arteries in the city.

  • Monitor local media for updates and traffic advisories.

International Financial Scams: See the  Department of State  and the  FBI  pages for information on scams.

Victims of Crime:  Report crimes to the  local police  at  112  and contact the  U.S. Embassy  at  +45 3341-7100  or  +45 3341-7400  for after-hours assistance. For non-life threatening situations, individuals in the greater Copenhagen area may dial 1813 to reach an urgent medical helpline. Local authorities are responsible for investigating and prosecuting crimes.

See our webpage on  help for U.S. victims of crime overseas .

  • help you find appropriate medical care
  • assist you in reporting a crime to the police
  • contact relatives or friends with your written consent
  • explain the local criminal justice process in general terms
  • provide a list of local attorneys
  • provide our information on  victim’s compensation programs in the United States
  • provide an emergency loan for repatriation to the United States and/or limited medical support in cases of destitution
  • help you find accommodation and arrange flights home in cases of destitution
  • replace a stolen or lost passport

Victim Compensation Program: Denmark has a program to provide financial compensation to victims who suffer serious injuries due to crime.

  • A police report must be filed within 72 hours.
  • Local police or the  Danish Criminal Injuries Compensation Board  can provide the forms to file for compensation.
  • Processing time can vary from  one to three months  to receive compensation.
  • More information about compensation payments to victims of serious crime is available at the  Compensation Board’s website.
  • If you are victim of crime in Greenland or the Faroe Islands , please contact the Embassy at  +45 3341-7100  or  +45 3341-7400  (after hours) for further assistance.

Domestic Violence:  U.S. citizen victims of domestic violence may contact the Embassy for assistance. Domestic violence victims are also encouraged to file a police report with local law enforcement at 112.

Tourism:  The tourism industry is regulated and rules with regard to best practices and safety inspections are enforced. Hazardous areas/activities are identified with appropriate signage and professional staff is typically on hand in support of organized activities. In the event of an injury, appropriate medical treatment is widely available throughout the country. Outside of a major metropolitan center, it may take more time for first responders and medical professionals to stabilize a patient and provide life-saving assistance. This is especially true in Greenland – a semi-autonomous, self-governing part of the Kingdom of Denmark. Greenland is vast and remote, and the weather can be unpredictable, making it especially difficult for first responders to access areas. U.S. citizens are encouraged to purchase medical evacuation insurance .

Local Laws & Special Circumstances

Criminal Penalties:   You are subject to local laws . If you violate local laws, even unknowingly, you may be expelled, arrested, or imprisoned.

Furthermore,  some laws are also prosecutable in the U.S. , regardless of local law. For examples, see our website on  crimes against minors abroad  and the  Department of Justice  website.

Arrest Notification:  If you are arrested or detained, ask police or prison officials to notify the U.S. Embassy immediately. See our  webpage  for further information.

  • Penalties for possessing, using, or trafficking in illegal drugs are strict, and convicted offenders can expect long jail sentences and heavy fines.
  • Driving under the influence may lead to confiscation of your driver’s license and could land you immediately in jail.
  • Possession of dangerous weapons, including pocketknives, may result in criminal penalties.
  • Your U.S. passport won’t help you avoid arrest or prosecution if you break the law in the Kingdom of Denmark.

Danish Compulsory Military Service: All male citizens 18 years of age and resident in Denmark must participate in a military draft. Conscription periods vary from four to 12 months, according to specialization.

Greenland: Special Circumstances

Removal of Natural Resources:

  • Greenland has  strict laws  regarding removal of natural resources, including any precious and semi-precious metals, stones, and gemstones. Check with local authorities before attempting to extract or export any of these materials.

Cruise Ship Travel: If you are considering travel on cruise ships near Greenland, you should:

  • Be aware that search and rescue capabilities are restricted due to limited capacity and long distances between populated areas.
  • Check the operational records and the experience of captains and crews operating vessels in Arctic waters when selecting cruises off the shores of Greenland.

Greenland by Land: Greenland’s landscape is vast and remote. Periods of darkness, extreme temperatures, and fast-changing weather are common.

  • You should use experienced guides.
  • Official permission is required  for travel into the huge Northeast Greenland National Park or for treks across the central ice fields. Check with your tour operator to make sure that the company has received the necessary permission for such trips.
  • Persons unfamiliar with the area can become disoriented easily and risk long-term exposure to the elements.
  • Greenland mountains are of moderate altitude but are technically difficult. You should be familiar with ascent and descent routes.
  • Local authorities will rescue individuals in difficulty, but land search and rescue capabilities are limited and subject to weather restrictions.
  • You may be billed for the cost of rescue services.
  • For more information about traveling to Greenland please visit  Greenland Tourism .

See our  LGBTQI+ Travel Information  page and section six of our  Human Rights report  for further details.

Travelers Who Require Accessibility Assistance:  Danish law  prohibits discrimination  against persons with physical and mental disabilities in employment, education, and access to health care or other state services. In addition:

  • Danish law mandates access to buildings, education, information, and communications for persons with disabilities.
  • Public transportation can accommodate persons with disabilities, but many buildings and outdoor sites are not easily accessible for the disabled.
  • Accessibility information is available at  Visit Denmark .

Students:  See our  Students Abroad  page and  FBI travel tips .

Women Travelers:  See our travel tips for  Women Travelers .

Excellent medical facilities are widely available in Denmark. Hospitals are modern and fully equipped. Medical facilities in Greenland and the Faroe Islands are limited, and evacuation is required for serious illness or injury.

For emergency services in the Kingdom of Denmark, dial 112.

  • Emergency medical treatment may be free of charge; however, the patient is charged for follow-up care.
  • In Denmark, you must call in advance to be admitted to an emergency room for immediate treatment for nonlife-threatening emergencies. If you show up at an emergency room unannounced you may be turned away. Dial 1813 to speak to the national medical helpline, staffed by physicians and nurses, who will determine which emergency room or clinic you should go to for care and coordinate an appointment for you.
  • Ambulance services are widely available throughout Denmark but are limited in Greenland and the Faroe Islands.

We do not pay medical bills.   Be aware that U.S. Medicare does not apply overseas.

Medical Insurance:  Make sure your health insurance plan provides coverage overseas. Most care providers overseas only accept cash payments. See our webpage for more information on insurance coverage overseas. Visit the  U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention  for more information on type of insurance you should consider before you travel overseas.

We strongly recommend  supplemental insurance  to cover medical evacuation.

If traveling with  prescription medication , check with the  government of Denmark  to ensure the medication is legal in the Kingdom of Denmark. Always carry your prescription medication in original packaging, along with your doctor’s prescription.

Vaccinations:  Be up-to-date on all  vaccinations  recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

  • Many urban streets have traffic lanes reserved for public transport only.
  • Bicycles are widely used in Denmark, and bike lanes are very common.
  • Bicycles have the right-of-way.  Many accidents occur when pedestrians and vehicles fail to give the right-of-way to bicycles.

Greenland has no established road system between towns.  Most domestic travel is by foot, boat, or air.

The majority of the  Faroe Islands  are interconnected by roads and tunnels, and boats. On the large islands even small hamlets are generally accessible by road. Travel on the smaller islands is mostly done on foot.

  • Chickenpox (Varicella)
  • Diphtheria-Tetanus-Pertussis
  • Flu (influenza)
  • Measles-Mumps-Rubella (MMR)

Immunization schedules

All eligible travelers should be up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines. Please see  Your COVID-19 Vaccination  for more information.

COVID-19 vaccine

Hepatitis A

Consider hepatitis A vaccination for most travelers. It is recommended for travelers who will be doing higher risk activities, such as visiting smaller cities, villages, or rural areas where a traveler might get infected through food or water. It is recommended for travelers who plan on eating street food.

Hepatitis A - CDC Yellow Book

Cases of measles are on the rise worldwide. Travelers are at risk of measles if they have not been fully vaccinated at least two weeks prior to departure, or have not had measles in the past, and travel internationally to areas where measles is spreading.

All international travelers should be fully vaccinated against measles with the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine, including an early dose for infants 6–11 months, according to  CDC’s measles vaccination recommendations for international travel .

Measles (Rubeola) - CDC Yellow Book

Denmark is free of dog rabies. However, rabies may still be present in wildlife species, particularly bats. CDC recommends rabies vaccination before travel only for people working directly with wildlife. These people may include veterinarians, animal handlers, field biologists, or laboratory workers working with specimens from mammalian species.

Rabies - CDC Yellow Book

Tick-borne Encephalitis

For travelers moving or traveling to TBE-endemic areas

TBE vaccine is recommended for persons who will have extensive exposure to ticks based on their planned outdoor activities and itinerary.

TBE vaccine may be considered for persons who might engage in outdoor activities in areas ticks are likely to be found.

Avoid contaminated water

Leptospirosis

How most people get sick (most common modes of transmission)

  • Touching urine or other body fluids from an animal infected with leptospirosis
  • Swimming or wading in urine-contaminated fresh water, or contact with urine-contaminated mud
  • Drinking water or eating food contaminated with animal urine
  • Avoid contaminated water and soil

Clinical Guidance

Airborne & droplet.

  • Breathing in air or accidentally eating food contaminated with the urine, droppings, or saliva of infected rodents
  • Bite from an infected rodent
  • Less commonly, being around someone sick with hantavirus (only occurs with Andes virus)
  • Avoid rodents and areas where they live
  • Avoid sick people

Tuberculosis (TB)

  • Breathe in TB bacteria that is in the air from an infected and contagious person coughing, speaking, or singing.

Learn actions you can take to stay healthy and safe on your trip. Vaccines cannot protect you from many diseases in Denmark, so your behaviors are important.

Eat and drink safely

Food and water standards around the world vary based on the destination. Standards may also differ within a country and risk may change depending on activity type (e.g., hiking versus business trip). You can learn more about safe food and drink choices when traveling by accessing the resources below.

  • Choose Safe Food and Drinks When Traveling
  • Water Treatment Options When Hiking, Camping or Traveling
  • Global Water, Sanitation and Hygiene | Healthy Water
  • Avoid Contaminated Water During Travel

You can also visit the  Department of State Country Information Pages  for additional information about food and water safety.

Prevent bug bites

Although Denmark is an industrialized country, bug bites here can still spread diseases. Just as you would in the United States, try to avoid bug bites while spending time outside or in wooded areas.

What can I do to prevent bug bites?

  • Cover exposed skin by wearing long-sleeved shirts, long pants, and hats.
  • Use an appropriate insect repellent (see below).
  • Consider using permethrin-treated clothing and gear if spending a lot of time outside. Do not use permethrin directly on skin.

What type of insect repellent should I use?

  • FOR PROTECTION AGAINST TICKS AND MOSQUITOES: Use a repellent that contains 20% or more DEET for protection that lasts up to several hours.
  • Picaridin (also known as KBR 3023, Bayrepel, and icaridin)
  • Oil of lemon eucalyptus (OLE) or para-menthane-diol (PMD)
  • 2-undecanone
  • Always use insect repellent as directed.

What should I do if I am bitten by bugs?

  • Avoid scratching bug bites, and apply hydrocortisone cream or calamine lotion to reduce the itching.
  • Check your entire body for ticks after outdoor activity. Be sure to remove ticks properly.

What can I do to avoid bed bugs?

Although bed bugs do not carry disease, they are an annoyance. See our information page about avoiding bug bites for some easy tips to avoid them. For more information on bed bugs, see Bed Bugs .

For more detailed information on avoiding bug bites, see Avoid Bug Bites .

Stay safe outdoors

If your travel plans in Denmark include outdoor activities, take these steps to stay safe and healthy during your trip:

  • Stay alert to changing weather conditions and adjust your plans if conditions become unsafe.
  • Prepare for activities by wearing the right clothes and packing protective items, such as bug spray, sunscreen, and a basic first aid kit.
  • Consider learning basic first aid and CPR before travel. Bring a travel health kit with items appropriate for your activities.
  • If you are outside for many hours in the heat, eat salty snacks and drink water to stay hydrated and replace salt lost through sweating.
  • Protect yourself from UV radiation : use sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15, wear protective clothing, and seek shade during the hottest time of day (10 a.m.–4 p.m.).
  • Be especially careful during summer months and at high elevation. Because sunlight reflects off snow, sand, and water, sun exposure may be increased during activities like skiing, swimming, and sailing.
  • Very cold temperatures can be dangerous. Dress in layers and cover heads, hands, and feet properly if you are visiting a cold location.

Stay safe around water

  • Swim only in designated swimming areas. Obey lifeguards and warning flags on beaches.
  • Do not dive into shallow water.
  • Avoid swallowing water when swimming. Untreated water can carry germs that make you sick.
  • Practice safe boating—follow all boating safety laws, do not drink alcohol if you are driving a boat, and always wear a life jacket.

Keep away from animals

Most animals avoid people, but they may attack if they feel threatened, are protecting their young or territory, or if they are injured or ill. Animal bites and scratches can lead to serious diseases such as rabies.

Follow these tips to protect yourself:

  • Do not touch or feed any animals you do not know.
  • Do not allow animals to lick open wounds, and do not get animal saliva in your eyes or mouth.
  • Avoid rodents and their urine and feces.
  • Traveling pets should be supervised closely and not allowed to come in contact with local animals.
  • If you wake in a room with a bat, seek medical care immediately.  Bat bites may be hard to see.

All animals can pose a threat, but be extra careful around dogs, bats, monkeys, sea animals such as jellyfish, and snakes. If you are bitten or scratched by an animal, immediately:

  • Wash the wound with soap and clean water.
  • Go to a doctor right away.
  • Tell your doctor about your injury when you get back to the United States.

Reduce your exposure to germs

Follow these tips to avoid getting sick or spreading illness to others while traveling:

  • Wash your hands often, especially before eating.
  • If soap and water aren’t available, clean hands with hand sanitizer (containing at least 60% alcohol).
  • Don’t touch your eyes, nose, or mouth. If you need to touch your face, make sure your hands are clean.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when coughing or sneezing.
  • Try to avoid contact with people who are sick.
  • If you are sick, stay home or in your hotel room, unless you need medical care.

Avoid sharing body fluids

Diseases can be spread through body fluids, such as saliva, blood, vomit, and semen.

Protect yourself:

  • Use latex condoms correctly.
  • Do not inject drugs.
  • Limit alcohol consumption. People take more risks when intoxicated.
  • Do not share needles or any devices that can break the skin. That includes needles for tattoos, piercings, and acupuncture.
  • If you receive medical or dental care, make sure the equipment is disinfected or sanitized.

Know how to get medical care while traveling

Plan for how you will get health care during your trip, should the need arise:

  • Carry a list of local doctors and hospitals at your destination.
  • Review your health insurance plan to determine what medical services it would cover during your trip. Consider purchasing travel health and medical evacuation insurance for things your regular insurance will not cover.
  • Carry a card that identifies, in the local language, your blood type, chronic conditions or serious allergies, and the generic names of any medicines you take.
  • Bring copies of your prescriptions for medicine and for eye glasses and contact lenses.
  • Some prescription drugs may be illegal in other countries. Call Denmark’s embassy to verify that all of your prescription(s) are legal to bring with you.
  • Bring all the medicines (including over-the-counter medicines) you think you might need during your trip, including extra in case of travel delays. Ask your doctor to help you get prescriptions filled early if you need to.

Many foreign hospitals and clinics are accredited by the Joint Commission International. A list of accredited facilities is available at their website ( www.jointcommissioninternational.org ).

Select safe transportation

Motor vehicle crashes are the #1 killer of healthy US citizens in foreign countries.

Be smart when you are traveling on foot.

  • Use sidewalks and marked crosswalks.
  • Pay attention to the traffic around you, especially in crowded areas.
  • Remember, people on foot do not always have the right of way in other countries.

Riding/Driving

Choose a safe vehicle.

  • Choose official taxis or public transportation, such as trains and buses.
  • Make sure there are seatbelts.
  • Avoid overcrowded, overloaded, top-heavy buses and minivans.
  • Avoid riding on motorcycles or motorbikes, especially motorbike taxis. (Many crashes are caused by inexperienced motorbike drivers.)
  • Choose newer vehicles—they may have more safety features, such as airbags, and be more reliable.
  • Choose larger vehicles, which may provide more protection in crashes.

Think about the driver.

  • Do not drive after drinking alcohol or ride with someone who has been drinking.
  • Consider hiring a licensed, trained driver familiar with the area.
  • Arrange payment before departing.

Follow basic safety tips.

  • Wear a seatbelt at all times.
  • Sit in the back seat of cars and taxis.
  • When on motorbikes or bicycles, always wear a helmet. (Bring a helmet from home, if needed.)
  • Do not use a cell phone or text while driving (illegal in many countries).
  • Travel during daylight hours only, especially in rural areas.
  • If you choose to drive a vehicle in Denmark, learn the local traffic laws and have the proper paperwork.
  • Get any driving permits and insurance you may need. Get an International Driving Permit (IDP). Carry the IDP and a US-issued driver's license at all times.
  • Check with your auto insurance policy's international coverage, and get more coverage if needed. Make sure you have liability insurance.
  • Avoid using local, unscheduled aircraft.
  • If possible, fly on larger planes (more than 30 seats); larger airplanes are more likely to have regular safety inspections.
  • Try to schedule flights during daylight hours and in good weather.

Maintain personal security

Use the same common sense traveling overseas that you would at home, and always stay alert and aware of your surroundings.

Before you leave

  • Research your destination(s), including local laws, customs, and culture.
  • Monitor travel advisories and alerts and read travel tips from the US Department of State.
  • Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) .
  • Leave a copy of your itinerary, contact information, credit cards, and passport with someone at home.
  • Pack as light as possible, and leave at home any item you could not replace.

While at your destination(s)

  • Carry contact information for the nearest US embassy or consulate .
  • Carry a photocopy of your passport and entry stamp; leave the actual passport securely in your hotel.
  • Follow all local laws and social customs.
  • Do not wear expensive clothing or jewelry.
  • Always keep hotel doors locked, and store valuables in secure areas.
  • If possible, choose hotel rooms between the 2nd and 6th floors.

Healthy Travel Packing List

Use the Healthy Travel Packing List for Denmark for a list of health-related items to consider packing for your trip. Talk to your doctor about which items are most important for you.

Why does CDC recommend packing these health-related items?

It’s best to be prepared to prevent and treat common illnesses and injuries. Some supplies and medicines may be difficult to find at your destination, may have different names, or may have different ingredients than what you normally use.

If you are not feeling well after your trip, you may need to see a doctor. If you need help finding a travel medicine specialist, see Find a Clinic . Be sure to tell your doctor about your travel, including where you went and what you did on your trip. Also tell your doctor if you were bitten or scratched by an animal while traveling.

For more information on what to do if you are sick after your trip, see Getting Sick after Travel .

Good to know

Faqs - booking denmark flights, where should i fly to in denmark if i want to explore europe as well.

Located in southeastern Denmark, the city of Sonderborg is less than a 2h drive from Germany. The best deals on flights from LAX to the Sonderborg Airport (SGD) are often on several airlines making more than one stop, such as a ticket for a Norse Atlantic flight that leaves LAX and changes to a Scandinavian Airlines flight in Berlin, and then to an Alsie Express flight in Copenhagen.

Where can I fly to in Denmark that's centrally located?

The town of Billund is in central Denmark, which is roughly the center of the Jutland Peninsula. Flights on Lufthansa, KLM, Air France, and Delta tend to have one stop in Paris or Amsterdam. Two-stop flights on United, Lufthansa, and Air Canada often stop in San Francisco, Munich, Frankfurt, or New York.

What is the Copenhagen Airport like?

CPH has two terminals, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. All flights arrive at T3. There is a hotel connected to the airport, Day Use rooms, and executive lounges you can access by paying at the door. Family services include family restrooms, diaper-changing rooms, and nursing rooms. Among the shops and restaurants, you can find a spa. The Car Rental Center can be reached by an inter-terminal bus.

Where is the USO at LAX?

The Bob Hope Hollywood USO is not inside LAX, but across the street between Terminal 1 and 2. Active-duty US military personnel, US military retirees, and military families can enjoy the benefits of the USO free of charge. Some amenities include an internet cafe, a Disney family room, a comfortable TV lounge with a library full of movies, showers, a nap room, an outdoor patio, and much more.

What is KAYAK's "flexible dates" feature and why should I care when looking for a flight from Los Angeles to Denmark?

Sometimes travel dates aren't set in stone. If your preferred travel dates have some wiggle room, flexible dates will show you all the options when flying to Denmark from Los Angeles up to 3 days before/after your preferred dates. You can then pick the flights that suit you best.

Top tips for finding cheap flights to Denmark

  • On average*, there is no price difference when choosing to fly in the morning or the evening on this flight route.
  • The Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is just south of Los Angeles on the coast of the Pacific and serves Los Angeles County. Designed in the shape of a U, LAX has 9 terminals, including the Tom Bradley International Terminal. LAX is as a hub for American Airlines, United Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and Delta.
  • If you want to rent a car to explore Scandinavia, consider flying from LAX to the Copenhagen Kastrup Airport (CPH) in Denmark’s capital, Copenhagen. Located on the eastern edge of Denmark, Copenhagen is connected to Sweden by bridge, so Copenhagen makes a good starting point if you're going to rent a car and explore Scandinavia.
  • If you are traveling with children and you want them to exhaust themselves at LAX before your long cross-country and trans-Atlantic flight, take them to the indoor playground in the Tom Bradley International Terminal, located between terminals 4 and 5 at the apex of the airport’s U-shape.
  • The Danish city Aarhus is on the eastern coast of the Jutland peninsula, Denmark's largest land mass. From ancient Viking relics to world-renowned contemporary art, Aarhus has it all. The most affordable flights from LAX to the Aarhus Airport (AAR) tend to be on flights with two stops or more, such as an Air Canada flight with stops in Toronto and Copenhagen.
  • In order to fly to Denmark, you will need a valid passport and it is recommended that your passport remains valid for 6 months after your proposed date of departure from Denmark. You need one blank page in your passport per stamp. No visa is required for a stay in Denmark that lasts for under 90 days.

Top 5 airlines serving from Los Angeles to Denmark

I didn’t not like that I could not select my seat and ended up with the worse seat.

Great, on time departure, friendly and accommodating crew, great leg room, Smith flight

Honestly, I didn’t expect that I will experience this long time wait during the check in. There was only one person who was taking care of the passengers for the economy class and it took us to wait about one hour to do our check i. As a result we barely get to the airplane as the gate was at the end of the airport. That is totally not professional where one crue is working at the registration desk with economy and 3-4 crues are helping for the business class.

I guess they don’t serve drinks on planes anymore

Delta planes have the WORST seat comfort of any plane in history. It's the opposite of ergonomic, in every sense. They also recline minimally, are covered in a vinyl and have no feet rests. Then the disembarking process is chaotic and time consuming (because of the way they load the plane and deal with luggage). Overall, somewhat frustrating but we arrived safely :)

It was a very smooth ride. Not sure on a flight departing at midnight can be much better but it was late arriving and I had an early day so really just the logistics.

Really liked the choice of the 4 free snack options. Crew great. Good vibe on plane.

Very disappointed in the food selection. It was not good compared to other airlines.

Good breakfast granola bar good crew seamless flight and baggage transfer we’ll done!

Everything was great but the difference in paying for comfort + did not seem worth it.

TERRIBLE! Staff was unfriendly, rude, and demeaning. One flight attendant touched me to grab the complimentary blanket off my neck because I couldn't take it home, while a bunch of other people took theirs home. I have never been so ill treated. I am not happy at all. And flight was delayed, no information until short notice for everything. Lost an entire day at my destination. I expect a full refund for that experience. Never will fly with them EVER again

All was good. I think the back of the plane should be boarded first. It would be faster. Minimal waiting time behind passengers loading their carry on baggage.

My return flight has been changed to JFK from EWR without any notice or reason

I had economy plus and it’s definitely worth the price. The seats are so comfortable, so much space, great large TV screens, and you get fed often. Really decent food (although other fish was overcooked.) They do need better movie choices. The crew is the best. Super friendly and accommodating. So much better than most American run Airlines.

Flight was delayed 3 hours. Pilot cancelled flight under 4 people volunteered to change their seats to economy from business class.

I couldn’t make it to the airport for my original flight due to bad weather; roads were shut down, buses and trains were closed. Since the plane wasn’t cancelled, I still had to pay $720 to change my ticket.

Last minute cancelation, though a substitute flight was found I could not pick my meal or seat. The hotel offered didn't have working air control or shower.

My seat was not the one I paid for, the crew was very curt, and the cabin was extremely warm.

Old plane with terrible business class seats - good food and service. Boarding was a joke with business class boarding last.

Best airline to travel on a budget- really like their reasonably priced access to the SAS lounges where available.

Due to a strike taking place with the airline, it negatively impacted my flight in multiple ways. My flight was delayed over 2 hours and the food served was mediocre at best.

Cabin crew were great. Seats are criminal for tall people

Flight was delayed 1.5 hrs due to problem with a previous flight to mine; I was informed appropriately via Text & Email, however, website did not keep up with messages sent by nearly an hour. When checking-in warm & friendly reception at check-in desk until female Air Canada Rep noticed my flight number and instantly pivoted to a condescending & sarcastic comments about getting my bag checked in since I’m running so late; then tone instantly changed again few minutes later when she muttered, “Oh, they’ve delayed it” another sign systems & worse front line staff, not fully informed or simply not reading their flight status updates. Flight crew were very friendly & did a great job trying to make up lost time due to the delay.

The fact that I got to Toronto alive and well and safe is a huge plus. I thank the captain and crew for a safe flight The comfort of the aircraft leaves much to be desired. Human beings should not have to be that cramped and squashed on a flight that we pay a lot for and even have to pay for lousy food choices The cabin crew were pleasant and helpful Kudos to them as the flight was packed to capacity and there was a lot of work for them in a short space of time All in all a good experience, but too cramped

We had a good flight, service was good and lots of leg room. Service was good and the staff were friendly.

United force you to download their App to do the check-in.

Short flight, crew members were very nice, so much so I'll take the return flight next weekend

The trip was fine and uneventful. The seat in business class was very uncomfortable which was disappointing given the extra cost. It was spacious but it felt like I was sitting on metal bars. The food in business class wasn't very good. The flight was ahead of time, the staff was professional and courteous and our luggage arrived safely.

I love flying with AC. I love that they have power outlet and free messaging wifi for aeroplan members.

I didn't understand what "limited wifi" mean. Everything is money money money. I didn't have any other choice other than Air Canada since I couldn't find any other direct flight.

I always try to book flights that don’t charge for baggage. Yet I was charged $75 for this flight.

Used to love Lufthansa, but Rowe are too close together in Economy and passengers are allowed to recline their seats so far back it is impossible for those behind them to even reach for carry-on essentials during flight - except for meal service when flight attendants ask for seat backs to be raised, we can’t sleep on planes so this flight was most uncomfortable ever! Rod Rose

Horrible crowding on the seats, headphones provided did not fit or work in the entertainment center, seriously the most uncomfortable flight I have taken in a LONG time. The people in front of me were literally 5 inches from my face the entire flight. Did they change their seats recently? I remember it being tight but wow this was a whole new level. Also I am a 5'3" small woman so I can't even imagine a larger person dealing with that for 11 hrs.

Seat controls of lights were broken, and only 1 of the 2 seat TVs ever worked on the long flight. On the short flight there were no USB connections, on the long one they were difficult to access. Part of my meal was frozen, though the hot portion was good.

Lufthansa fails at mentioning no luggage when booking through points. We had to pay added fees to take checked bags to Europe for 2 weeks. The staff at check in were not helpful at all. told us "if we don't like it, then book another flight". Food was bad, they ran out of half the options. Vegetarian was terrible. The flight crew was nice, and tried to make it work ok.

The accommodations are top-notch. The only negative was that both our initial flights were delayed, which caused us to miss one and almost miss the other. The staff immediately handled the missed flight and compensated us for the inconvenience.

Food could be better quality - everything else was excellent , thanks Lufthansa team . GOD bless you!!!

Great except my luggage was. Lost my entire. Trip and I had. To go buy things and waste. Time trying to find. My luggage

Plane was old and the persons chair in front wasn’t easy to move up so he had it back most of the flight including during meals. The touchscreen was not working well and selections weren’t good. First time on a flight I really had a hard time finding something to watch. The crew was great and without them, it would have been a bust. Pilot got us there in record time.

Overall good experience, just the delay of 2.5 hrs was a bummer.

Starting with the flight Cairo to London the plain was so poor no entertainment at all uncomfortable seats although it’s 5 hours long, then an American airline plain took me from London to Miami it was a bad experience the crew most of flight time not available and they asked us to help our selves for any snacks if we need. From Miami to London actually was perfect flight with a huge plain and perfect crew but from London to Cairo was horrible plain with stiff fixed seats not movable no entertainment or wi fi very poor Menu which is unacceptable for a business class

I've done hundreds of flights in my life, and this flight was one of the best I've ever taken, From beginning to end, everything went smoothly, professionally, and with a smile and friendly attitude from all employees I interacted with. The food was delicious (and free), as were the drinks. There was just a genial and effective way in the way that British Airways organized the flight -that reminded of days in the 70's, 80's, and 90's, when flying was a fun, and exciting adventure. I enjoyed and had confidence in the abilities of the flight crew, I'll be flying British Airways several more times this summer. Thank you so much for the great experience! Cheryl Olso

My baggage did not arrived with me. Took 3 days to get it after so may calls and follow up

Terrible! I missed my flight to my final destination and British airlines and American Airlines keep pointing fingers on each other’s. Nobody wants to take responsibility

Terrible. Flight was 3 hours delayed and I missed my other flight to my final destination

Overall, terrific service, accommodations, and experience. Only reason comfort was rated lower was because it was difficult to keep a comfortable sleeping position for the overnight flight, but I also had an economy seat.

Not sure if the crew were experiencing something unknown to me,but the service of passing water was non-existent.In addition, please take consideration when providing yogurt as alternative for breakfast as some of us, could be lactose intolerant.. thanks

Very cramped seats in economy, difficult to get comfortable with your legs and feet and back. The seat width is ok but I’m average size. Food is HORRIBLE. Crew is friendly. Delays and very tight connections made it tough for navigating. We would have missed our connecting flight if it wasn’t delayed too. The terminal transit was slow and normally every 10 minutes before 8pm, after 8 pm is every 30 minutes!!!!! No free wine or drinks!! Below average attitude.

Leg room was better than expected. Lavatory’s were easy to access.crew was grea!

Horrible seat allocation. Boarding was slow. Food was average and so was entertainment. The TV terminal didn't work and so had to use remote.

25 Days in Scandinavia- Denmark itinerary help

We are traveling (2 adults and 9/11 yr olds) for a portion of August 2022 to Stockholm round trip from the USA. We plan to spend a week in the Stockholm area, a few days in Gotland, a night in Kalmar, and then a few nights getting over to Copenhagen (nothing booked after Kalmar yet). We will have a full week in Denmark, with a plan to take the overnight ferry to Oslo, and spending a few days there before the train back to Stockholm for departure. We are curious how we should break up Denmark (and any other suggestions in our itinerary). We’d like to avoid car rentals if possible but will plan on one for the day on Gotland. We are active and love nature, animals, food, and culture, but not interested in time inside many museums. Many thanks!

If you are looking for a few nights between Kalmar and Copenhagen, consider Karlskrona, Lund and/or Helsingborg.

For a week in Denmark, you might want to focus on Copenhagen and spend 4-5 days there. But in my opinion you should not overlook Jutland. Maybe a visit to Legoland will be of interest to the children? There are ferries from northern Jutland to Norway as well. Or maybe take the ferry from Jutland over to Sweden and spend a night or two in Gothenburg before going to Oslo?

Thanks so much Badger. We felt like we really wanted to visit Ero (apology for not having correct keyboard). We are having a hard time figuring out the route and I would appreciate any tips. We were thinking of one of the amusement parks in Copenhagen but also will consider Legoland. I wish we had an entire summer there to visit!

Ærø? That's easy, take the train to Svendborg, look up schedule and cost at www.dsb.dk , and then take the ferry to Ærø. Tivoli or Bakken can also be great options for the children, I guess it depends on what they are looking for. But don't disregard Jutland, it is an underrated part of Denmark in my opinion.

This is all very helpful so thank you! Is there a particular area in Jutland that you would recommend? If it works for our itinerary, we may try to leave Ero and go toward Billind and then north and eventually ferry to Oslo…

That sounds like fantastic trip. :

I recommend using https://www.rejseplanen.dk/webapp/?language=en_EN rather than https://www.dsb.dk/en/ for planning travel, since

  • It covers all forms of transport
  • It is easier to find the English version
  • There is also an app for your smart phone, so you can plan on the fly

In Copenhagen:

  • https://goboat.dk/en/

Personally I think Ærø is overrated. But it's your vacation.

If you want to skip Ærø, I recommend Samsø. Take the ferry from Kalundborg, but be sure to book accommodation in advance. Visit the worlds largest maze . Then take the ferry to Jutland. Either Hou - to take train to Billund - or Århus.

In Jutland: Visit https://www.legoland.dk/en/

Then go to Århus and visit https://www.dengamleby.dk/en/den-gamle-by/ . It's a museum, but it is outdoor with short visits to old houses and shops. I also recommend Ree Park . It is by far the best zoo/safari park I have visited. It is a bit away from Århus with no public transport I could find, so you would need to hire a car :-(

All over Denmark (and the rest of the world) you can visit the trolls: https://trollmap.com/ . Zoom in on Denmark and see if any troll looks interesting. If the directions are too complex (they are for me), most of the trolls are on Google map. You might even be able to visit a troll in your home country before you leave :-)

From Århus you can go by train to HIrtshals, from where there are several ferries to different places in Norway.

Thank you so much for all of this insight. We are familiar with most of your suggestions but learned of more options so I am very appreciative!

Frederikshavn Looks like an amazing port to leave out of also…

We are curious if it makes sense to leave Kalmar by train for Helsingborg, stay a night and explore and then continue to Helsingor. We would work our way down to Copenhagen and stop at both/either Frederiksborg slot and Fredensborg palace. Or if there are any better stops…

I agree that Ærø is a bit overrated, but it is certainly not a bad place to visit.

We are curious if it makes sense to leave Kalmar by train for Helsingborg, stay a night and explore and then continue to Helsingor.

If you want to go from Kalmar to Helsinborg, yes. It is an easy train trip. You need to change in Hässleholm but that is an easy change.

Between Denmark and Oslo I'd suggest that you make a stop in Gothenburg if you have the time, it is worth it in my opinion.

Badger, do you have any favorite areas/islands/Peninsulas in Jutland? Many thanks!

Does it make sense to leave Copenhagen and take the train down to Svendborg/Ero for a few days and then make our way to Sonderborg for another few? Where would the best place to pick up a car? We realize one may be necessary for this portion of the trip. We have 3 nights in Vejle after as a base to see central Jutland and then will make our way north to Fredrikshavn.

This is just to tell you that I am so jealous of your trip! Enjoy!!!!

Thank you! It’s exciting and a little crazy… Here is our updated itinerary:

7 nights in Stockholm with day trips 3 nights on Gotland/Faro 1 night in Kalmar 4 nights in Copenhagen 2 nights on Ero 1 night in Ribe 3 nights in Vejle 3 nights in Gothenburg and then back to Stockholm for flight out. 🤩

All in all it looks like a good plan. But maybe 3 nights in Vejle is a bit too much, I would spread them out a bit over Jutland. Two nights in Vejle for Legoland and maybe one night in northern Jutland, e.g. Ålborg or Fredrikshavn maybe? And perhaps add one night in Stockholm at the end before your flight home. As for your car rental question, it depends on where and how you want to travel by car. But for your trip I really don't see much of a need for car rental, apart from maybe for a day or two.

So then you just need to start booking what needs to be booked in advance!

Also, the name of the Danish island is Ærø. If your don't know how to type an Æ , you can replace it with AE . Replacing it with just an E is confusing and doesn't make any sense.

Thanks Badger! We don’t plan on actually visiting Legoland after all, and will use our Airbnb in Vejle (which is close to fjord and has horse back riding and mountain biking opportunities), as a base after exploring the coast by Ribe, to visit Arrhus, Ebeltoft and then make our way up to Fredrikshavn, hoping for a little northern coast time before the ferry over to Gothenburg.

We do have an airport hotel the day before we fly out of Stockholm, so we will journey back with plenty of time.

We’ve started booking our trains and ferries, and are very excited! Thank you for all the tips and please share any others you can think of along the way.

I apologize about my keyboard inadequacy and appreciate the information. In fact my husband just showed me how to change it to ÆrØ!!! 😊 I just need to figure out the capital letters now.

Also airport hotels tend to be rather boring. When is your flight home? Unless it is very early, another option is to spend the last night in Uppsala. A much nicer place and with frequent buses and trains to Arlanda.

And just so you don't end up on some expensive booking site:

  • Ferry to/from Gotland: Book at https://www.destinationgotland.se/en (you can book a transfer bus from central Stockholm to Nynäshamn, or you can take the commuter train).
  • Bus from Oskarshamn to Kalmar: Buy from the driver or using their (Kalmar Länstrafik) app. The app will save you a bit of money, but it is a fixed price so no need to buy in advance.
  • Train from Kalmar to Copenhagen: Fixed price, can be bought in advance or in a ticket machine before departure.
  • Trains in Denmark: www.dsb.dk is the national railway company. Trains north of Ålborg can be found at https://nj.dk . A good travel planner that includes all public transport in Denmark is https://www.rejseplanen.dk/
  • Ferry from Fredrikshavn to Gothenburg: https://www.stenalinetravel.com
  • Train from Gothenburg to Stockholm/Arlanda/Uppsala: www.sj.se

Thank you for all of these links! Luckily, we have researched and used the direct transportation sites.

That’s a great idea about Uppsala. Depending on the train travel from Gothenburg (tickets aren’t available yet), it may work to spend the night there instead of making a day trip out of Stockholm. Especially since we just found out we now won’t need to get covid tests the day before returning to the US.

Glad to hear that found the correct sites, I've seen too many tourists ending up on some booking site and paying twice as much for tickets as they actually cost. A small tip regarding the ferry to Gotland: Book a midday ferry and have lunch onboard. The onboard restaurant is not that bad, at least it wasn't before the pandemic.

Gothenburg to Uppsala is easy by train, although you have to change in Stockholm. Takes usually around 4 hours in total.

I think we will tag Uppsala to the end of the trip. Thanks Badger! How long do you think we’d need to connect from the high speed SJ train at Stockholm Central to the regional train to Uppsala? Can it be done in 7 minutes?

It can be done in 7 minutes, I've done it a few times in less time than that. But I would not recommend it with luggage, children and if you are not familiar with the station.

But, don't buy separate ticket! Visit www.sj.se and buy a ticket from Gothenburg to Uppsala and see what they suggest.

DK EYEWITNESS TRAVEL GUIDES: 8 REASONS TO USE A TRAVEL GUIDE

As you scroll through Instagram, look at pictures on your iPad or read something on your Kindle – do you ever get the overwhelming desire to hold something physical in your hands? A photograph, a book and sketch? Well I certainly do! My first real ‘exotic’ trip was to Egypt when I was 18, and then after University I went on a gap year travelling through Southeast Asia.

It was 2003, long before the days of iPhones and Snapchat, and you didn’t take a mobile phone with you. You might drop into an internet cafe once a month to let your Mum know you were alive and you certainly didn’t plan your trip by pinning must see Instagram spots! Instead, you looked at physical guide books, packed with all the information that you needed to go on your trip, booked a ticket and went on an adventure.

Despite the digital options available to us these days, I am not ready to let go of that way of travel yet and I still love planning my trip with a physical guide book, like my collection of DK Eyewitness Travel Guides . I wanted to share 8 reasons why I love using a travel guide and you should too!

1) THEY MAKE ME FEEL NOSTALGIC, IN A GOOD WAY!

I miss the way that I used to travel. I have so many stories of things that we did when I was backpacking that we probably would not have done had we had easy access to the internet to solve a travel problem. When I first travelled, we looked at our physical guidebook, read the bus times and trusted it. When we arrived in a new destination, we read the reviews of all the hostels and then walked around and found them. At dinner time, we would check the guide to discover the recommended places to eat. And for activities, of course we planned almost everything based on what was listed as the top things to do in the city or town we were in. It was simple way to travel, less choices and more adventures!

A few things I did because a guide book told me to:

  • Travelled about an hour across town in Phnom Penh, Cambodia to find what was detailed as the best banana cake in town. It was!
  • Trusted that a bus would arrive mid way between Vientiane and Phonsavan, Laos at a specific time (in the middle of nowhere) and whilst waiting joined a local wedding in a random tiny village we got dropped off at. Surprisingly, the bus did come at the time the book said!
  • Ate the best pizza in Florence, but had to wait a very long time to get my hands on it – because it truly was the best pizza and the place was packed.

2) YOU CAN FIND ALL THE INFORMATION YOU NEED IN ONE PLACE

Tired of scouring several websites, blogs and magazines to plan your trip? Yep, me too! Using a guide book gives you all the information that you need in one place. The DK Eyewitness Travel Guides contain information to inspire whilst you are thinking about booking your trip, details such as best time to visit to plan your trip, in depth knowledge of the country and city to help you discover the very best it has to offer and finally all of the on the ground information you need to fully experience the destination. With the DK Eyewitness Travel Guides you will find maps, suggested itineraries, history, facts, best places to stay, eat and drink, top activities and so much more. Guaranteed you will only need one book to plan your itinerary, but if you need more of course they have you covered and have the official websites for their recommendations included in each book.

3) GET BITE SIZE PIECES OF INFORMATION ABOUT EACH PLACE

I like to research a place before I visit, but often I get overwhelmed by the information and history available. In a guide book, you get a few sentences introducing a town, what it’s famous for and the must do activities. In the DK Eyewitness Travel Guides throughout the books you get little snippets of history or facts that you might otherwise not discover. I really enjoy having smaller bits of key information instead of getting lost for 3 hours on Wikipedia somehow learning about the different grain techniques used to make bread. The guidebooks give you what you need so you can go on and enjoy your trip!

4) IT’S EASY TO PLAN YOUR TRIP AND HIGHLIGHT THINGS YOU WANT TO DO

Each DK Travel Guide contains perfectly laid out itineraries for the entire country, including must see stops and restaurants. With the amount of information on the Internet today it’s easy to get overwhelmed and try to cram too many stops or activities into a trip. Using the guidebook, you can lookup a great itinerary based on how much time you have to spend in the country. There’s also a year long calendar of events in each guide so you can plan for those unique seasonal experiences!

5) YOU DON’T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT GETTING ACCESS TO WIFI TO LOOK SOMETHING UP

Ever got lost in a city, pulled out your phone and realised you don’t have WiFi to quickly access a map or search for a nearby spot to have lunch? I am pretty sure the answer is yes. This has happened to me on countless occasions and frustratedly leads you to pick whatever place is closest and probably not the best to eat. Having a guide book eliminates this need for WiFi, and the side benefit is you will be able to fully immerse yourself in the destination that you are visiting by not checking your phone every 4 minutes.

6) YOU CAN WRITE NOTES IN THE BOOKS

I like to highlight the things I want to see, and write notes before, during and after a trip in the book. I make sure to fold down the pages of specific activities, sights or restaurants I want to go to and then I note them all down on the map. I am a big fan of creating my own walking tour in a city, by jotting down all the locations on the map and then planning an optimal route to see everything. This is much easier in a physical book, and really helps to feel like you are making memories about the destination you are in.

7) REAL EXPERTS HAVE WRITTEN THEM

Whilst blogs (like this one!) and online guides are a great way to plan your trip, they are typically from one person’s point of view. The blog author may have some great recommendations, but chances are they were only in that place for a few days and tried a handful of activities, restaurants and maybe just one hotel.

A DK Eyewitness Travel Guides gives you so much more than that. Each of the books is created by a full team of travel experts who have spent time in the country and have worked hard to curate the best travel tips and advice for the area. Carrying the book with you is like having your own personal tour guide wherever you go!

8) I HAVE SOMETHING TO LOOK BACK AT LATER

I used to keep journals when I travelled and collected ticket stubs, postcards and other paper items to stick into the journal. I love to have something to look back at to remind me of a destination that I visited and what I saw when I was there. I no longer keep a journal, but I do keep all of my travel guides! They are great if I go back to the same destination or if someone asks me about a specific spot I visited or restaurant I loved, so I can quickly look back at the guide book and remind myself. Plus I like to have a collection of travel books on my bookshelf or to loan out to friends!

WHY DO I LOVE DK EYEWITNESS TRAVEL GUIDES SO MUCH?

I have given you my personal reasons for favouring using a traditional guide book, but why do I love the DK Eyewitness Travel Guides so much? Well, first of all they are from England and being British I do love to support some home grown companies! But seriously, I love these books for a few reasons. The Eyewitness Guides are packed with information, but also a manageable size, unlike some other guidebooks which are just too big to carry around with you for the day. Each city guide comes with a handy map at the back which you can pull out and mark up your walking route, which is especially great in cities. The guides are in colour, with photos and sketches. As an artist myself, I work visually and I like to easily be able to pick out my top things to do in a destination by seeing an inspiring photo in a book. Finally, I’ve found all the tips in the guides to be perfectly aligned with what I want to see and do, and there are recommendations for every type of traveller.

In today’s modern world it’s easy to get caught up in moving as fast as possible, but I can’t begin to tell you how nice it feels to slow down with a physical guide book and a good cup of tea while planning my next trip!

We hope that this article has inspired you buy some travel guides to plan your next vacation. If you have any questions about the destination or have your own travel tips to share please leave these in the comments below.

The DK Eyewitness Guides are my favourite travel guides too! I have so many on my shelves and don’t travel without them (assuming there’s one for the area I’m in of course!) can’t beat them in comparison to any other guide. I am an artist too, so probably like them for the same reasons you do – they are so visual and eye catching! Love their layout!
