She is near the Woodland Stable in Eldin Canyon, and once you talk to her, she will mark the locations of the other Fairies for you. However, each Fairy has a separate instrument she wants to hear before she comes out of her flower. Depending on your exploration of Hyrule, you might have bumped into one of the other three Fairies before Tera, but as far as we can tell, you can’t do anything about them before releasing the first one. As for how you unlock access to Great Fairy Tera, it all begins with a visit to Woodland Stable.

Where is Woodland Stable Location with Musicians in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

The musicians you need to find in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom or TOTK are in Woodland Stable. That’s at these coordinates: 1047,1144, 0022 .In terms of landmarks, the stable is near Pico Lake in the north of Eldin Canyon. What you’re looking for is a small stage with a few troupe members to the left of the entrance. You absolutely need them to come with you to the Great Fairy in Zelda TOTK. Unfortunately, they won’t really talk to you. What they will do is mention the Clover Gazette newspaper and hint that it’s in Hebra. The musicians are such divas that they will only talk to a journalist from the Gazette, so that’s our next stop.

Where to Find Lucky Clover Gazette Newspaper in Hebra Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

The Lucky Clover Gazette newspaper in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom or TOTK, our next step in unlocking access to the Great Fairy in TOTK, is in the northeast corner of Tabantha Frontier. It’s coordinates are -3232, 1781, 0119. Once again, take a gander at the pictures below to see where exactly it is. Once you reach the Gazette, head into the building and talk to the two NPC inside, Penn and Traysi. This begins a whole new side quest called “Potential Princess Sightings,” but that’s of no concern to us right now. What’s important is that you’re now officially a journalist of the Lucky Clover Gazette. In other words, the musicians will talk to you now.

Serenade to a Great Fairy Tera Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

The last part of unlocking the Great Fairy in Zelda TOTK or Tears of the Kingdom is to serenade her. Go back to Woodland Stables and talk to the musicians. You’ll learn that their cart is busted. So, use Ultrahand to attach the nearby wheels to their proper places on the cart and move the whole thing off the rock. Next, talk to the stable owner at the window and ask for one of your registered horses. When prompted, ask for a harness and attach it to the front of the cart with Ultrahand. Talk to the musicians and they’ll get into the cart. So, all that’s left is to drive them up the hill and to the Fairy’s flower.

A cutscene will play, in which you finally meet Great Fairy Tera in this Zelda game. Among other things, she will give you the locations of the other three Fairies. Mija is near the stables in Hebra, Kaysa near the stables in Hyrule Field, and Cotera near the stables in West Necluda.

It wouldn't be a great Zelda game without the Great Fairies, and even less so when we revisit the same land of Hyrule a few years later. In the magnificent Tears of the Kingdom The dear, large and lovable Great Fairies are back, but you won't find their Fairy Fountains where you used to visit them in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. So where are they? Join us on the journey to discover them in the most musical quest of the game...

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Guide: All the Fountains of the Great Fairy and how to bring them out of their cocoons

The Great Fairies in Tears of the Kingdom are very easy to spot in the distance from the Hyrule Sky, especially if you launch yourself from the Sky Islands, because their cocoons emit a very characteristic colourful smoke. You will soon see that they have moved to new places and that, although they are still very capricious, this time they don't want your rupees, but they need to please their music-loving tastes instead.

The four main Great Fairies are hiding in their cocoons waiting to hear their favorite instrument played by members of the traveling troupe of musicians from The Troubadours , led by the maestro Batulio . The other Fairy, Malanya, goes her own way, but she takes on a special prominence this time. This is how you can complete this nice musical side mission:

1. Where is the Great Fairy Muarenn and how to get her out of her cocoon?

Muarenn's cocoon will probably be the first one you will encounter because the game "invites" you to start from the Orni Village, and therefore you will be passing between Tabanta and Hebra. Her cocoon is located north of the Orosium shrine, between the north and south Tabanta steppes, next to the Steppe Post. Beware, a Glacial Griock awaits you just in front of it.

From her closed cocoon, the Great Fairy speaks to you and activates the side quest. Serenade for Muarenn , where she tells you that she wants to hear Trompatt's horn , from the Troubadours. Upon inquiry, they tell you they have heard something like a horn past the Great Tabanta Bridge. If you ride south along the canyon, you will hear the horn playing the Lon-Lon Ranch song before you reach the bridge and find the fallen musician in a sinkhole between the Ghissa and Droalna hills.

Trompatt has his own side quest, The Dramatic Escape of the Instrumentalist , with which you have to get him out of trouble. Inside the sinkhole, it's up to you to fix his cart and make do with the available Zonai devices (or the few you have on you) to get him off the ground and out of the hole. When it is ready you ask him to get on (it is likely that you will not get the safest vehicle). Use Zonai energy spheres if it does not hold the battery and once saved Trompatt will reward you with vigor honey for your help.

Next, back at the Steppe Post, you will see that the cart must be roofed so that the snow does not spoil the Troubadours on the way to Muarenn's cocoon, so make sure there are no gaps. Once Muarenn comes out of the cocoon when you hear the beautiful performance you get a silver rupee. The following fairies, except Malanya, follow a similar structure with their quests:

2. Where is the Great Satten Fairy and how to get her out of her cocoon?

The Satten cocoon is located in the Hyrule Knights' Training Ground, slightly northeast of the floating Hyrule Castle, near the Forest Inn. The Great Fairy had hidden in it after a woman calling herself Zelda frightened her.

Your fellow journalist Orni Penn, from the "Lucky Clover Gazette" newspaper, entrusts you with a side quest Serenade for the Great Fairy , in which you have to make the music of her favourite instrument to get her to come out of the cocoon, in this case you'll need Vionela's violin .

To take the company on this occasion it will be up to you to arrange the trotter for transporting musicians and instruments. Your favor will be reflected in the magazine and you will be given the fabric of the gazette as a gift.

3. Where is the Great Fairy Seddha and how to bring her out of her cocoon?

The cocoon of the youngest sister of the Great Fairies is near a post in the western part of Necluda, in the eastern foothills of the Twin Peaks.

By activating the secondary quest Serenade for Seddha you will know that the Great Fairy wants to hear the drum of Perkuss . Apparently, the percussionist's drums were heard near Kakariko Village, around a bend on the way out of the Bonooru mountain range. You will hear it, and find him, near the bend of Lake Ciela, under a rock.

Perkuss wants three portions of vigor honey and with the side quest Sweet as Honey he suggests you get them near "a hole" in Kakariko, but it's easy to find them everywhere and you probably already have one from the trumpeter (which you can use with the Sensor if you already have it to find more).

When you return to the Twin Peaks Post by the river, you'll see that it's time to cross it with the whole company, so turn the cart into a motor raft and scare the troupe to death along the way.

4. Where is the Great Fairy Laniah and how to get her out of her cocoon?

Laniah is older than her sister Seddah but younger than her other sister Satten. Her cocoon is near the Plains Post, under the Manhala Bridge, on the east bank of the Celestial River that borders Gerudo to the west.

For the quest Serenade for Laniah you will know that the Great Fairy wants to hear the pleasant sound of the flute.. from the flutist Flauryn who is linked to Haite, Yanae's sister, and they are often seen at the Farone Post to the southeast.

Travel there and inside Zoeh will tell you that she has heard the flute through some trees to the north as well as a strange animal in a forest to the east. The trees are attached to the pole and Flauryn is on a branch. Starting the side quest The Piper's Wish tells you about the fire in the flower field that he unwittingly started because his beloved Haite wanted to see a glowing tree. Get 10 stealth fireflies and he will give her the precious gift without killing trees. You can go to the forest north at night to hunt the insects.

Once the lovebirds are reunited, Flauryn is encouraged to return with the band and you can return to the Plains Post. There's already the troupe of The Troubadours playing in full! All that's left is to convert the cart into a gnarly buggie to climb up to the cocoon and delight Laniah with the nice concert.

New in BotW and much more 'creepy' than her relatives, the Great Horse Deity also returns in Tears of the Kingdom, of course, and now with new capabilities, like so many other things in the game. Like the Four Great Fairies, Malanya has moved to another place and you will no longer find her at the Lake of the Equines (where another equestrian surprise awaits you), but you will be much more in contact with her and, in addition, she offers a fantastic service.

First of all, before finding the Malanya cocoon, you will know about it when you decide to rest at any inn in a Malanya bed instead of a normal cot. As announced to you by the inn's regents, this accommodation has the bonus that you receive a Malanya oracle in your dreams. Among other things, it tells you where to find her and also where to find good specimens of horses, apart from the special horses in the game.

The equestrian fairy is waiting for you next to the Akkala post to the northeast. You must follow the path after the post at Akkala East and you will arrive at Roux Lake, north of the post. Instead of giving her music, as a steed Malanya is conquered by the stomach, in particular by giving her a spirited carrot .

When she comes out of the cocoon, she reveals that, apart from bringing back the horses that have left this world (she already resurrected your fallen mounts in BotW), she can enhance their attributes . However, if you wish to use her powers, you must compensate her with food.

In Tears of the Kingdom, the Great Fairy upgrades the defence power of Link’s clothing .

If you trade her rare items, which are usually drops from enemies, she will increase the number of defence points a piece of clothing has. This reduces the amount of damage received when Link takes a hit, allowing him to take on more difficult foes in tougher areas around the map.

There are four Great Fairies to find in Hyrule, at four different stable locations across the map .

They are found at Woodland Stable in the northeast, Snowfield Stable in the northwest, Dueling Peaks Stable in the southeast and Outskirt Stable in the southwest of Central Hyrule.

To coax each one out of their hidey-hole, you need to play them the music of a specific musical instrument. With each Great Fairy unlocked, they can increase the power of your clothing even further, up to the maximum of four stages.

Here’s where to find each one.

How to get a Violin and unlock Great Fairy Tera in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

To find a Violin for the Great Fairy Tera near Woodland Stable, you need to visit the Lucky Clover Gazette newspaper next to Rito Village.

Offer to look for stories for the newspaper, then return to Woodland Stable and speak to Penn. This starts the Serenade of the Great Fairy quest . All you need to do is put two wheels back on the cart, attach a towing bar to your horse, then ferry the musicians to the Great Fairy Tera's pond.

Following a cutscene you can ask the Great Fairy to upgrade the strength of your equipment.

This quest must be completed first to allow the musicians to travel to other places!

How to get a Flute and unlock Great Fairy Kaysa in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

To get a flute and unlock Great Fairy Kaysa in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, go over to Outskirt Stable. Speak to the musicians at the stable, and they will mention their flautist has taken residence at the Highland Stable in the far south.

Go down there and give them some Sunset Fireflies to complete their dream gesture. You can get some from the forest to the north if you need more.

Return to Outskirt Stable with them and ride the carriage up to the Great Fairy to tick them off the list.

To get a drum and unlock Great Fairy Cotera in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, head over to Dueling Peaks stable and speak to the musicians.

They will mention that their drummer is nearby, in the vicinity of Kakariko Village . To get the drummer back in the troupe you need to give him some courser honey, which can be found in the trees around East Hill if you don’t have any.

How to get a Horn and unlock Great Fairy Mija in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

To get a horn and unlock Great Fairy Mija in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, make your way to Snowfield Stable near Hebra. Talk to the musicians there, and they will give you a quest marker for where their horn player went missing.

Ride down, then rescue the horn player from the big hole by attaching materials to their cart. Return to the Snowfield Stable, then pilot the cart up to Great Fairy Mija’s pond.

Zelda Moving on from Tears of the Kingdom Features is a Double-Edged Sword

Tears of the kingdom sets the zelda series up for one tone shift, aloft is zelda: tears of the kingdom meets stardew valley, quick links, the hornist's dramatic escape quest location, hornist's dramatic escape quest walkthrough, rewards for completing the hornists' dramatic escape.

There is a plethora of side content for players to enjoy in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom , so much so that many players don't even touch the main quest until hours in. Each side quest feels unique, and offers Link a new way to test his know-how of Tears of the Kingdom 's new physics interactions.

There is a series of side quests spread throughout Hyrule that involve Link gathering members of a traveling musical troupe back together. The group meets at the Woodland Stable, but only two of the characters are there when Link arrives for the first time. One of the musicians, the Horn player Eustus , fell down a hole by the side of the road, and it's up to Link to bring him back to safety and get him back to the Stable Trotters.

The Hornist's Dramatic Escape quest is found on the way to Rito Village from the Tabantha Bridge stable. As Link heads northwest on the road from Tabantha Bridge , there will be a sudden sharp turn eastward in the middle of a mountainous area – on the map, this is just east of Piper Ridge and just below the text that reads "Tabantha Frontier" when zoomed out.

The Hornist's Dramatic Escape begins at the bottom of a pit just to the west of this curve, where players will stumble upon a man whose wagon crashed into the pit. As Link gets close, the sound of a horn can faintly be heard and will get louder as he gets closer.

The Hornists Dramatic Escape location coordinates are (-3644, 0768, 0117) , in case players don't want to take the main road to reach this quest start. After talking to the source of the music at the bottom of the pit, a hornist named Eustus, Link is tasked to lift him and his wagon safely out of the hole and return him to the road.

This Tears of the Kingdom quest isn't as simple as just lifting Eustus and his wagon above the threshold of the pit. Players actually have to make sure he makes it to land, all while he remains a passenger.

There are two main methods for completing The Hornist's Dramatic Escape: the intended method, which uses nearby Zonai devices , or the cheese method, which uses a combination of Recall and Ultrahand.

Whatever method players choose, it's important to avoid tipping Eustus and his wagon or dropping him from a height. If Link doesn't keep the wagon upright and afloat, the camera comically zooms in on Eustus' face as he yells that it's too dangerous.

Construct A Device To Lift Him Out Of The Pit...

There are a handful of nearby Zonai devices and construction materials that can make this quest much easier, provided players don't burn the whole thing up. The wagon is flammable , but the simplest way to complete this task is to use the nearby Flame Emitters on Balloons attached to the wagon.

One approach players can use is to attach two Balloons to the side of a platform, attach this to the top of the carriage, then use a Flame Emitter aimed upward at the Balloons to keep them inflated with hot air. Attach a fan to the back of the wagon so that it propels forward and lands on the ground when the Zonai devices are deactivated. Use Autobuild on this structure to keep it saved in case things go awry.

Remember to tell Eustus to get in before activating the Zonai devices, or the quest won't count as complete. And, be careful to avoid making the flame spewed from the Flame Emitter touch the wagon's wood, as it will combust and cause the quest to reset.

...Or Use Recall And Ultrahand To Cheese The Quest

The Recall and Ultrahand abilities in Tears of the Kingdom are some of its most game-breaking, especially when used with one another. The pit Eustus fell into is deep, but not so deep that it can't be cheesed.

First, grab the wagon with Ultrahand and lift it as high as it will go, as close to the wall of the pit as possible. Hold it at this height for a few seconds, then gently return it to the ground. Climb back to the rim of the pit and use Recall on the wagon . This will bring it back to the point Link dragged it to before, which should be just high enough to reach with Ultrahand from the top .

When the wagon is Recalled back to this point, quickly swap to Ultrahand and activate it as soon as the menu disappears so that it doesn't have time to fall.

If done correctly, Link should be able to simply lift the wagon to the ground, and if Eustus is inside, the quest will be complete. Players who can't get the wagon to float onto the ground normally can also stand on the rim and use Ultrahand as it floats upward, eliminating the need to attach a Fan to its rear.

The Hornist's Dramatic Escape is part of a series of quests found across Hyrule that involve getting a wandering band – the Stable Trotters – back together. Link can find a variety of musicians all across Hyrule, who eventually meet up at the Woodland Stable just east of Lookout Landing in Eldin.

As for the quest rewards specifically, Eustus doesn't have much to offer , as most of his supplies went bad after he got trapped on the way to Rito Village. But, as a reward for Link's help, Eustus will give him three Courser Bee Honey , which can be used in cooking to improve Stamina recovery or as a Fused item that summons a swarm of bees on hit.

The Stable Trotters are an odd bunch of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom . This batch of musicians all have very... distinct personalities and also view themselves as a little more important than they probably should.

But that doesn't mean they don't have their uses, as they help you bring the Great Fairies out of hiding with their playing. There are a handful of quests that will have you help them to do this, such as Serenade to Mija.

You can start this quest by going to the Snowfield Stable, up in the northern part of the map. The Stable is just southeast of the Hebra Mountains , right next to the Orochium Shrine .

There, you will find the Stable Trotters playing their music right outside , near where you will find Penn if you are doing the Potential Princess Sightings! quest . Speak with the conductor to get the quest going.

It wouldn't be a quest with the Stable Trotters if you didn't have to help them with some wagon trouble, which is exactly what you will have to deal with first. They are in need of a roof on their wagon to help them travel in the snowy weather. Luckily, there's a construction site right by the wagon where you can use a piece of wood from.

Use Ultrahand to pick up a piece of wood and attach it to the two poles on the wagon so that it covers the entire seating area of the wagon.

Once you have done that, you can head back to the troupe and speak to the conductor to get the whole band in the wagon. And, of course, they need you to drive them over with your horse. You will have to use a harness , which you can earn by earning Pony Points through the Stables. When you have the harness on your horse, bring it over to the wagon, then attach it with Ultrahand .

Now, all you need to do is steer them over to the Great Fairy's Fountain , where you will have a map marker to help lead you there. You can also make out the lighting from it. Just be careful of some enemies in the area, and be sure not to take too sharp of a turn and knock the wagon over .

Eventually, you will make it and trigger a cutscene that shows the band bringing out the Great Fairy with their music. After that, the quest is over. Don't forget to enhance any armor you have with the Great Fairy.

How to wake the final Great Fairy and max-out your armor upgrades in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

If you’ve come this far that means you only have one Great Fairy left to unlock in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom , and with this guide you can do just that. The final Great Fairy you need is named Cotera, and she resides in her bulb near Dueling Peaks Stable. Only, her bulb is totally water-locked, meaning the Stable Trotters can’t simply ride in on their wagon. Or can they?

In this guide we’re getting the full band of Stable Trotters across the river to visit Great Fairy Cotera – make sure you’ve completed the Honey, Bee Mine quest before undertaking this task so Beetz the drum player is back with the Stable Trotters.

Serenade to Cotera, waking the Dueling Peaks Stable Great Fairy – Zelda TOTK

So you’ll need to make your way over to Dueling Peaks Stable – with our all Stable locations guide, of course – and then chat with the full troupe of Stable Trotters, or the Stable Gallopers, as they now call themselves. Mastro will once again be leading the charge, and with you there, he’ll run at the river with the rest of the musicians.

Meet them at the river, and it’s now time to make their wagon Breezer aquatic. Or, semi-aquatic, at least. Use the Hyrule Restoration Materials nearby and place Breezer on top of one of the large wooden panels. 

There are other materials nearby too, including Fans, a Sail, and even a Steering Stick.

With everything in place, tell Mastro to hop in and then place the whole thing in the water – hopefully you’ve done enough to make it just about float. 

As long as the Stable Trotters don’t get wet, it should be fine.

Once you arrive at Great Fairy Cotera you’ll be able to witness the final Stable Trotters performance for a Great Fairy, and also upgrade your armor to the max level. At long last!

The Legend of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom is the twentieth main installment in The Legend of Zelda series . It was released for the Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023.

An unknown period of time after the events of Breath of the Wild , Link and Zelda are exploring a secret passage hidden beneath Hyrule Castle . Although King Rhoam had warned Zelda in the past that not even the royal family was to go there, she believes that what lies beneath is connected to the strange phenomena spreading throughout Hyrule , referred to as " Gloom ". As they travel, they find ancient ruins that Zelda identifies as being of Zonai origin. They eventually find a mural depicting a great war against a being usually referred to as "The Demon King" , the stories of which had been passed down by the royal family. Another mural shows the Zonai descending towards Hyrule, which causes Zelda to realize that the "gods" that descended from the heavens to found the royal family must have been the Zonai.

In the deepest chamber , Link and Zelda find a mummified Ganondorf emanating Gloom, bound by a disembodied arm. As they enter, the arm falls off and drops a teardrop-shaped gem. As Zelda picks it up, Ganondorf comes to life and strikes with a surge of Gloom. Link blocks the attack with the Master Sword , but Ganondorf's dark power decays the blade , saps Link's strength, and leaves his right arm blackened and weakened. Ganondorf reveals that he knows Link and Zelda and mocks the former's inability to harm him, mentioning that someone called "Rauru" had entrusted him.

Ganondorf sends a surge of Gloom that causes Hyrule Castle to rise into the sky before falling deep underground. Zelda falls into a chasm, as Link drops the used-to-be Master Sword and attempts to catch Zelda, only for to her disappear into a flash of light. Link nearly falls in as well, but is grabbed by the disembodied arm and teleported away. When he reawakens, he finds that the arm has replaced his own. A voice says that Zelda had told him about Link, and that Link's arm had to be replaced to ensure that he did not die from his injuries. Recovering the Decayed Master Sword , he leaves the chamber he woke up in to find himself on an island floating in the sky . He descends to another island, meeting a Steward Construct who gives him Zelda's Purah Pad at her request. It directs Link to the Temple of Time , but upon reaching it, Link finds that he cannot enter. He then meets a ghostly figure identifying himself as Rauru, who informs Link that the arm he now possesses was once his own and that its power might be restored if Link visits three of the shrines on the island and gains their sacred light. After opening the gate, Link finds a larger teardrop-shaped gem that changes into an apparition of Zelda, granting him the Recall power before vanishing. Link's path is then blocked by a second sealed door, which he lacks the vitality to open. Rauru advises Link to visit the island's last shrine and offer it to their Goddess Statue , which will restore some of the vitality he lost to the Gloom. After doing so, Link is able to open the door. Rauru advises Link to continue visiting shrines to recover his strength before passing on, telling Link that it will be up to him to aid Zelda.

At the highest point of the Temple, Link finds a glowing light that reacts with the Master Sword. Placing it into the light, the Sword vanishes and is received by Zelda at an unknown location. Link spots a dragon , which parts the clouds beneath the island to reveal the kingdom of Hyrule beneath it. He receives a telepathic message from "Zelda" asking him to find her, beginning his quest to save Hyrule once again.

Link returns to Hyrule, learning that the earlier events, called the " Upheaval ", has caused chaos across Hyrule. Link then goes to investigate the mysterious reports of disturbances and Zelda's appearance throughout Hyrule. In the process, Link defeats four monsters occupying ancient Zonai temples with the aid of four acquaintances – Tulin of the avian Rito tribe where they climb to the Stormwind Ark and beat the monster Colgera , Sidon of the aquatic Zora tribe who, with Link, beats the sludge octopus Mucktorok , Riju of the desert-dwelling Gerudo tribe, where Link helps beat the monstrous Queen Gibdo inside the Lightning Temple , and Yunobo of the mountain-dwelling Goron tribe where Marbled Gohma nests in a volcano near the lost city of Gordonia. With each defeated monster, Link finds Secret Stones , Zonai artifacts that increase the innate power of their users. Spiritual forms of ancient sages appear to Link and his companions, appointing Link's companions as new sages and passing down the Stones. After handling the monsters, Link tracks down "Zelda" to Hyrule Castle. At the castle, "Zelda" reveals itself to be an impostor in Ganondorf's service before being defeated by Link and his companions. Link further encounters Mineru , an ancient sage utilizing spiritual projection to stay in the physical world, and provides her with an artificially constructed mechanical body.

Through Mineru, the sages' spirits, and a number of dragon tears scattered throughout Hyrule, Link learns of Zelda's fate. The mysterious artifact which vanished with Zelda was a Secret Stone, and she was transported through time through the distant past. There, she met Rauru, who was revealed to be the first king of Hyrule. In the past, Ganondorf murdered Rauru's wife, Queen Sonia , and acquired her Secret Stone, turning himself into the "Demon King". Rauru sacrifices himself to seal away Ganondorf. Zelda then receives the Master Sword, and in order to restore it, she transformed into a dragon by consuming her Secret Stone. Prior to her transformation, she tasked the past sages to provide aid to Link in the future. In the present, Link retrieves the Master Sword from Zelda's dragon form, and heads to Ganondorf's location far beneath the castle. There, Link fights Ganondorf's army with the aid of the Sages' successors and Mineru before engaging in combat with Ganondorf himself. Nearing defeat, Ganondorf transforms himself into a demonic dragon in an attempt to beat Link and Zelda. Zelda's draconic form assists Link in defeating Ganondorf. With the help of Rauru and Sonia's spirits, Zelda regains her true physical appearance, and Link regains his right arm, and the two fall onto the surface of Hyrule via a pond.

Some time later, on the Sky Island where Link had awakened, Mineru bids goodbye to Zelda and Link before her spirit disperses, while the Sages' successors vow to protect Hyrule.

The gameplay of Tears of the Kingdom is similar to its predecessor. Additions include rail grinding and mechanical transport that Link can build using the Ultrahand ability, including a car, mech, boats, and numerous other things. Link can use the Fuse ability to fuse weapons with objects to make them stronger, he can also fuse things with his shield and arrows . In the March 28, 2023 gameplay, Eiji Aonuma showed off four new runes: Recall , Fuse, Ultrahand, and Ascend . [1]

Development of the twentieth game in The Legend of Zelda series began in 2017 after the production for Breath of the Wild concluded. [2] During the E3 2019 Nintendo Direct , it was announced that it would be a sequel to Breath of the Wild . [3] [4] The idea of creating a direct sequel came from the fact that Eiji Aonuma , producer of Breath of the Wild , wanted to revisit the same Hyrule while incorporating a new story and gameplay mechanics. [5] Initially, new ideas were thought of for DLC but evolved into a new game when too many were gathered. [6]

During the announcement of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity on September 8, 2020, Eiji Aonuma said that Nintendo was still working on the game and that the fans would have to wait before getting any news. Later, in a December interview, Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser added that the contents of the game would be shown when they felt they had enough to show. [7]

The second trailer and first gameplay showcase aired on June 15th, 2021, during the E3 2021 Nintendo Direct . [8] A portion of gameplay was shown, featuring a number of abilities and the new world of Hyrule . An estimated release date for the game was also announced to be sometime during 2022.

On March 29, 2022, Nintendo released a video where Eiji Aonuma announced that development time had been extended, with the game being set to release in the spring of 2023. A short gameplay clip was premiered that showcased Link 's new outfit and a heavily damaged Master Sword . [9]

The third trailer for the game was shown in the September 13, 2022 Nintendo Direct, where the title, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom , and release date, May 12, 2023, were revealed. [10] However, Nintendo UK did not livestream the Nintendo Direct as a mark of respect during the national period of mourning for Queen Elizabeth II. [11] Nintendo UK later acknowledged the announcement in a Twitter post on October 3rd. [12]

Development on the game was confirmed to be complete on March 28, 2023.

Timeline Placement [ ]

Tears of the Kingdom is the sequel to Breath of the Wild , featuring the same Link. When asked about the two games place in comparison to the rest of the series Fujibayashi and Aonuma commented on it but did not confirm anything. [13] It is possible that the Hyrule that Rauru founded is either a "re-founding" from after all of the other games or if it occurs around the era Skyward Sword , however neither possibility is confirmed to be absolutely true. The events of Ganondorf's rise to power in the past are not a loose retelling of Ocarina of Time . [14]

Reception [ ]

The announcement of Tears of the Kingdom under the name " Breath of the Wild 2" which Nintendo Called at the time "The Sequel to Breath of the Wild" was celebrated by fans across the world as Breath of the Wild was one of the most popular games on the Nintendo Switch and was known throughout the gaming community, especially after winning the Game of the Year award at the 2017 Japan Game Awards. [15] Many fans speculated about whether Princess Zelda would be a playable character or if multiplayer would be added, but when asked, Aonuma declined to answer. [16]

When the title of Tears of the Kingdom was revealed during the September 13, 2022 Nintendo Direct , many fans were unsure whether the name referred to tears as in crying, or tears as in rips. [17] Nintendo cleared up the confusion a few days later and confirmed that the name refers to tears as in crying. [18]

According to the review aggregators Metacritic (96/100) and OpenCritic (97%), Tears of the Kingdom received "universal acclaim". [19] [20]

• Cannon - A Zonai device that fires shots in intervals. The shot it explodes when hitting the target. It's a powerful device, but it can be tricky to get the firing angle just right.0
• Steering Stick - A Zonai device that can control direction when attached to a conveyance. It'll activate all connected Zonai devices at once.
• Balloon - A Zonai device that rises when filled with hot air. The hotter the air, the quicker it rises.
• Big Wheel - A powered Zonai device that wants to move! Its a big, mean wheel that excels at tearing through environments that might challenge smaller wheels. It can handle shallow water.
• Battery - A Zonai device that holds concentrated Zonai charge energy. Use it to provide temporary power for other Zonai devices.
• Big Battery - A battery with an improved compression rate. Though disposable, it holds multiple times as much energy as a normal battery.
• Stabilizer - A perfectly balanced Zonai device that stands upright when activated. It was used to secure footholds in unstable places, such as sky islands.
• Hydrant - A Zonai device that gushes water when struck. According to legend, sky islands saw water shortages long ago but became lush and fertile thanks to this technology.
• Cart - A Zonai device built to move efficiently over flat surfaces. Apply force to get it moving, so long as it has a power source.

Link loses a lot right at the beginning of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom — almost all of his hearts, all of his abilities, his clothes, an arm, and, apparently, the ability to fast travel. Over the course of the introduction on the Great Sky Island , you’ll get a few new abilities, but you still won’t be able to fast travel just yet.

How to unlock fast travel in Tears of the Kingdom

If you’re anything like us, you probably expected Link to be able to fast travel right from the start of Tears of the Kingdom (and then got super confused when you couldn’t).

As you make your way around the Great Sky Island and complete the Shrines of Light for Rauru , you’ll pick up new abilities . After you complete the three shrines on the Great Sky Island — Ukouh Shrine , In-Isa Shrine , and Gutanbac Shrine — you’ll head to the Temple of Time to (try to) push open some doors.

Rauru will appear and explain that Link won’t be able to open the doors without visiting one more shrine. And it’s at that point that Rauru will unlock fast travel for you, allowing you to teleport to any shrine you’ve visited and, later, any Skyview Tower .

For even more flexibility with where you can fast travel, make sure to head to the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab to unlock the Travel Medallion .

You'll need a lot of Zonai Devices to make these bad boys, so be sure to stock up at one of several Zonai Dispensers before building!

8 The Self-Launching Plane

Best for: sky (and land) traversal.

Zonai Devices Required:

• One Minecart.
• One Steering Stick.

It's especially so before you're comfortable with the physics of the game, but making a successful plane in TOTK can be a challenge. Thankfully, if you opt to attach a Minecart beneath your plane , you'll have essentially made yourself a portable runway.

Not only can you use this to take off from a great height, but you can also use it as a car once you land to continue navigating the land with comfortable ease.

7 The Skateboard

Best for: making shield surfing better.

The Skateboard is essentially the most fun way to traverse around Hyrule, and it’s not even a proper vehicle! You probably have a bunch of Sleds on hand, and you can attach those to a shield and effectively turn it into a Skateboard. This makes your Shield Surfing ability much more viable, especially on flat terrain.

This thing goes fast if you have enough momentum going, and it can actually take you around the map at an exhilarating pace. Not to mention, it doesn’t require many resources. All it needs is a simple shield and a Minecart that you can find almost anywhere if you go looking for it.

You can make a Skateboard with a Minecart instead of a Sled, too, if you see one lying around and want to save yourself the Zonai device.

6 The Stealth Bomber

• ​​​​​​​One Steering Stick.
• Four Stakes.
• Eight Fans.

This is a hard vehicle to make, and it’s got a lot of moving parts. Once you get this plane going (which we recommend doing off the edge of a cliff for the height), there is nothing that can stop it. You can destroy enemies, and they won’t even be able to see you.

Fly this bad boy over a Bokoblin camp and watch them get annihilated. It’s not even funny how simple this can be to use, but the movement is a bit tricky to understand, and it's heavy on the battery drain . However, once you get the hang of it, it’s an amazing vehicle to have.

If you don't have access to the construction gear we used in our image above, you can also make this work using Minecarts or Sleds for the rectangular planks, and extra Stakes for the longer ones if needed.

5 The Speeder Bike

Best for: optimum land speed.

• ​​​​​​​One Small Wheel.
• One Stablizer.

The Speeder is an absolute masterpiece. This vehicle is great for traveling both Hyrule and the Depths, because it only needs three parts to make and it barely drains any battery. It’s such an efficient long-distance vehicle that you won’t ever need to grind for the golden horse .

It’s a bit awkward to get on it, but you can use Recall to make it stand straight again, so that you can get a better hold of the Steering Stick.

A small wheel, a stabilizer, and a steering stick are all you need — stack them on top of each other and get moving. It can be used very well in the Depths; all you need to do is attach a Brightbloom Seed to it and you have a Speeder with a Headlight as bright as the sun. You may never need your horses again!

4 Construction Trucks

Best for: hauling resources.

• Four Big Wheels.
• Four Springs (optional).

This truck is for those journeys where you want to carry something, but you don’t want to Ultra-Hand carry it for hours. Or, maybe there are a bunch of things you need to carry all at once. In any case, this vehicle will serve you well! Additionally, if you add springs , you can pretty successfully make it an all-terrain vehicle , too.

You can put anything you want in the back and carry stuff around; it can be logs, Zonai Devices, or even a few Koroks . In any case, if you've got a delivery to make someplace in Hyrule, no matter the size, this is the truck for you.

3 Mech, The Destroyer Of Bokoblin Camps

Best for: outright destruction.

• Two Big Wheels.
• Two Stakes.
• Three Minecarts.
• As many Canons as your heart desires (and your Energy Cell can support).

Okay, we know this one has a ton of parts to it, and you probably won't be using this until you've expanded your batteries a bit, but hear us out - why sneak into an enemy encampment out in Hyrule and carefully execute your attack when you could instead build this massive mech and storm the gates without apology?

It's not very good at closing distances, but if you assemble this bad boy outside of an enemy camp and then crash through the gates with the device active, all those Canons you affixed to the arms of this behemoth will begin firing and taking out all those enemies with ease.

Attach some extra Batteries to this mega-mech for prolonged destruction!

2 King Of The Jets

Best for: long flights.

• ​​​​​​​One Steering Stick .
• As many Batteries as you need for your journey.

This jet is better than any other long-range flying device in-game, simply by adding several Batteries to a pretty standard flying device. You can control this plane with a Steering Stick and determine your path, and it can be very simple to make with very creative custom builds.

You can make this vehicle your own with even more adjustments. For example, you can add a Balloon to it or even Brightblooms or Lights to make it a more suitable device for the Depths.

1 The Hover Bike

Best for: making every other traversal method obsolete.

• ​​​​​​​Two Fans.

The Hover Bike is the natural evolution of the Speeder Bike. It’s a completely different vehicle of course, but it's similar in the sense that it drains very little battery and it has some of the easiest handling in the game. All you need are two fans and a steering stick — attach them all together and have the time of your life.

This vehicle is phenomenal for exploration essentially anywhere, from the surface of Hyrule to the Depths and even the Sky Islands. It works so well on the Sky Islands that you’d never want to touch the ground . It can essentially make traversal completely easier for you, and that too in a fun way.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom takes place across thousands of years due to a bit of unintentional time travel. But because time travel easily causes strange events to happen later, TOTK poses more questions than it answers. However, the implications of Zelda's adventure through time open up new possibilities for interesting plots that could appear in future games set between the first king of Hyrule's reign and when Link faces Calamity Ganon. If this timeline is going to be the primary one used in future games, then there's the opportunity to use paradoxes in new plots.

Time travel is a tricky and convoluted feature to include in games, or any type of medium, because it almost always leads to the creation of paradoxes. In the case of TOTK , Zelda going back in time would result in two Zeldas technically existing at the same time at multiple points in history. Additionally, the ability to travel through time being canon opens up the chance to include more time-travel shenanigans in the future, and that could even lead to another co-op game like Four Swords . It could even open up the chance to use a Dark Souls style of co-op, summoning Links from parallel timelines for help.

Tears of the Kingdom takes Legend of Zelda into mostly familiar ground, but it remains an excellent, must-play title with plenty of innovation.

The Existence Of Multiple Master Swords In Zelda's Timeline

A co-op opportunity.

Although Zelda travels back in time by herself first, Link sends the broken Master Sword back in time to Zelda when he arrives at a certain point and finds what seems to be some sort of time rift. This means that there would be the broken Master Sword being kept by Zelda as the Light Dragon and the whole Master Sword – presumably in Korok Forest – existing at the same time for most of Hyrule's history. Considering that the developers have confirmed that there won't be a third game following TOTK to make a trilogy, it's possible that the next game may be placed somewhere else in this new timeline .

It's not an adventure without the Master Sword and Tears of the Kingdom is no exception. Here is exactly how to get Link's classic sword.

Between the time travel paradox of two Zeldas and two Master Swords and time travel being a real possibility that has been seen in the Zelda universe, the next game could use these paradoxes to create fun plots that could include multiples of the same characters. A new game could use these paradoxes as a foundation for a co-op experience using multiple versions of Link, like Four Swords , or having Link and Zelda work together. The potential is truly endless, and there's already a precedent in the Zelda universe for new timelines branching off from the existing main timeline.

Zelda Is In The Perfect Position To Become A Soulslike Title

A new level of difficulty.

BOTW and TOTK have already taken a different direction compared to past games, featuring an open-world map, crafting systems, and a new style that uses shrines instead of classic dungeons. If Nintendo wanted to capitalize on the use of time travel paradoxes, the possibility of limited co-op features, and the popularity of Soulslike games, then it would use the next Zelda game to commit to that transition. The timing is perfect, since the next game won't be tied to BOTW or TOTK directly, and the franchise is a perfect fit for the extra difficulty that comes with Soulslike titles.

It's been one year since the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which was critically praised. Why don't we talk about it like BotW?

Many games in the franchise already have tones that are reminiscent of Dark Souls games. Link is almost always the sole protagonist, filling the role of the chosen one who's the only hope for the land's problems to be solved , and facing the villain and winning. However, the core story formula of Zelda doesn't need to change for it to be considered Soulslike. The games already have, and have had for a while now, a lot of the main elements that make games Soulslike. Now, there's an opportunity to take it further and include the ability to summon other Links for co-op, using the idea of paradoxes or parallel timelines as an excuse.

As a franchise, Zelda has never been afraid of using time travel and other story elements that create paradoxes. While it might be sad that the next game won't continue the story that's been built in BOTW and TOTK , starting a fresh story that isn't tied to other titles is the best decision in this situation, and it brings more opportunities for the developers to be creative without restraints. This lack of constraints combined with time travel paradoxes leaves open a lot of potential for the game that will eventually follow up The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom .

Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower Location in Zelda: TotK

Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower is in the West Necluda region. It is to the North of Mable Ridge and South of Sahasra Slope. You can glide South from  Morok Shrine  to reach the Tower.

The exact coordinates for the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are ( 1351, -1154, 0160 ).

How to Activate the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower

Upon reaching the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom , you will meet a Rito named Billson. Apparently, she is there to fix the Skyview Tower’s console, but he can’t get in. The sliding door that leads to the tower won’t budge at all.

Billson will tell you that he is tired of all the exertion, and she will only attempt to open the gate again if Link finds him some tasty mushrooms from the cave nearby. Strangely, no matter how often you talk to her, she won’t take any mushrooms from your inventory.

1 . Turn back from the main door and drop down to the lower hill leading east of the Skyview Tower. You will notice a glowing  Bubbul Rabbit  in the area.

2 . Follow it to discover Sahasra Slope Cave ( 1328, -1157, 0138 ), your gateway to the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom .

3 . Sahasra Slope Cave is full of Blue Horriblins and breakable boulders. Use your fire arrows (apply fuse on fire plant) to bring down those irritating foes. One critical piece of advice. Don’t waste your Bomb Flowers. They are very costly ( 12 Poes each ) and extremely rare to come by.

You can use Yunobo’s Charge ability to clear the cave of breakable boulders.

4 . The cave has a lot of Rusty Claymores. Take them and fuse them with stones . Destroy the boulders by hitting them with your fused rock sword.

5 . There is a hidden small room on the right side of the cave. Enter it, and you will find a Bubbul Toad hanging from the roof. Kill it to obtain a Bubbul Gem . No matter how much you explore this cave, you won’t find a tasty mushroom you can offer Billson.

6 . From the area where you found the Bubbul Gem ( 1343, -1178, 0131 ), use the Ascend ability . Make sure that you are directly below the tower. This will allow you to enter the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom .

7 . Talk to Billson and she will be surprised by your arrival time and ask you to look for anything stopping the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower door from opening.

8 . Remove wooden sticks stuck at both sides of the door. This will allow Billson to enter the Skyview Tower and fix its console.

9 . Use the console to activate the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower and use its launchpad to get airborne. While you are  gliding back down , scan the area to unlock the map of West Necluda and find another Dragon Tear location in the surrounding area while being airborne.

10 . Now, you can fast-travel to the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower anytime in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and use it to reach the West Necluda Sky Archipelago.
