AAA is a loosely associated group of clubs that each cover a small geographical area, usually a single state or portion of a state. Different clubs have different offers, so it’s worth checking both your own AAA state club and the Southern California AAA club websites. To check your own state club, just go to AAA.com and you will be redirected (usually) to your local club. If you haven’t yet set up your online access, you’ll sometimes need to do that to see your local club’s discounts.

To check the Southern California site, use this link and enter zip code 92112. Once you get to the club home page, select the “Discounts & Rewards” tab and then select “Theme parks & attractions.” If a particular discount on the Southern California site involves booking online through the club site, you will usually need to be a Southern California member. Discounts that involve showing your card at the gate are available to any AAA member. If you can get to a Southern California AAA club office, you can usually take advantage of offers that must be bought in person, even if you’re a member of a different AAA club.

AAA members get 10% off a 1-Day Pass, and sometimes discounts on other things such as food or merchandise.

Costco.com sometimes offers a very good discount on San Diego Zoo tickets and you don’t have to be a Costco member to buy through their site. (Non-members pay a 5% surcharge, however.) There is a shipping charge when ordering from Costco.com.

Seniors (65 and older) get 15% off a 1-Day Pass. Available at the ticket booth only (not in advance).

Airline / Cruise Line Employee Ticket Discounts

Airline and cruise line employees presenting a company-picture identification badge or CLIA at the ticket windows receive a 10% discount off the 1-Day Pass.

Active duty military personnel with valid military ID card receive FREE regular admission. Spouses and dependents receive 10% discount on 1-Day Pass only. Valid military ID required. Available at the ticket booth only (not in advance).

Children ages 3-11 receive FREE regular admission to the Zoo during the entire month of October (must be accompanied by a paying adult). The Zoo’s Guided Bus Tour is not included with Kids’ Free entrance and must be purchased separately at the Zoo.

Discounts on Multi-Attraction Passes that include the San Diego Zoo

We’ve scouted out some of the best discounts you can find from reputable companies and describe them here. For more details and pricing, just select the pass name.

Go City San Diego All-Inclusive Pass

Balboa park multi-day explorer pass.

Go City San Diego Pass : If you want to fit in as much as you can in 1 to 7-days using one simple pass for one price, consider this all-inclusive pass. This pass includes the San Diego Zoo and the Safari Park , Legoland California ,  SeaWorld San Diego on 3+ day cards,  Knott’s Berry Farm , plus multiple other attractions in the San Diego area. Looking for a place to stay near the San Diego Zoo ? Choices are plentiful in the San Diego area near the San Diego Zoo, and getting around San Diego is fairly easy by car. If you don’t have a place in mind, we suggest checking out the hotels below. Our recommendations are not the cheapest places you can find– there are plenty of those out there– but we feel they offer a very good value for your dollar. As with our Preferred Hotels for Walt Disney World (Florida) , we suggest accommodations that will enhance your stay while not breaking the bank. That said, if you are used to Orlando area pricing, you will be in for some sticker shock. Low rates for decent but average hotels start at around $80-$120/night, mid-range hotels start at around $120 and can run upwards to $275/night or higher in peak seasons.

The San Diego Zoo is located at 2920 Zoo Drive in Balboa Park, just north of downtown San Diego. Zip code is 92101.

If you don’t know where to start, we suggest checking out:

  • Courtyard by Marriott San Diego Downtown – 1.2 miles from the Zoo, 15 minute walk to USS Midway Museum; historic hotel with contemporary amenities.
  • Hilton Garden Inn Downtown – easy walking distance to the Zoo and one block from the bay, new property with interior courtyards and heated rooftop pool. Note: self parking is not available – valet only.
  • Best Western Cabrillo Garden Inn – Good value option if you are on a tight budget. Great location, exterior corridor style hotel, includes free continental breakfast.

Hotel Websites

Sometimes the best offers are directly through the hotels’ own websites, and if you are a member of a specific loyalty program, you probably want to search across all of that hotel company’s brands. For example, Hilton owns DoubleTree, Embassy Suites, Waldorf Astoria, etc. Here are links to the overall parent company websites where you can search their whole portfolio– use Balboa Park, San Diego, California to find hotels closest to the San Diego Zoo:

  • Hilton Hotels (DoubleTree, Embassy Suites, Hampton, Homewood Suites)
  • Marriott Hotels (Westin, Sheraton, Four Points by Sheraton, Courtyard, Fairfield, Residence Inn, SpringHill Suites, TownePlace Suites)
  • Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG)  (Candlewood Suites, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Staybridge Suites)
  • Choice Hotels (Clarion, Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites)
  • Wyndham Hotel Group (Howard Johnson, Ramada, Super 8, Travelodge)

But did you also know you can use this website to book hotels and rental cars, too?

In this post, we’ll go over what you need to know to use Undercover Tourist to find the best prices on amusement park tickets, hotels, and rental cars. Plus, we’ll go over some of the popular features of the site like the Crowd Calendar.

Undercover Tourist is a website that that’s been around since 2000 and is known for offering discounted tickets to theme parks across the U.S. The site is an authorized seller of tickets for all the major theme parks you know and love:

  • Walt Disney World Resort in Florida
  • Disneyland in California
  • Universal Orlando Resort
  • Universal Studios Hollywood
  • SeaWorld Orlando
  • SeaWorld San Diego
  • LEGOLAND Florida Resort
  • LEGOLAND California Resort

Undercover Tourist also has discounted tickets to non-theme park attractions like Ripley’s Believe It or Not, ski resorts, zoos, movie theaters, and lots more! Plus, it acts as an online travel agency for hotels and car rentals.

While Undercover Tourist offers a ton of ticket, hotel, and car options, the site is limited in the number of destinations it covers. You’ll only find options in the following cities:

  • Breckenridge, CO
  • Chicago, IL
  • Los Angeles, CA
  • New York City, NY
  • Orlando, FL
  • Park City, Utah
  • San Antonio, Texas
  • San Diego, CA
  • San Francisco, CA
  • Washington, D.C.

Options in Seattle, London, and Paris are coming soon.

Bottom Line: Undercover Tourist is a resource for discounted tickets to theme parks and other attractions in select cities across the U.S. It’s best known for offering discounted tickets to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios theme parks.  The site also acts as an online travel agency for hotel reservations and car rentals in these select cities.

Let’s review the steps to using Undercover Tourist to purchase discounted tickets.

You can start your search for discounted tickets from many different places on the home page. Click on Discount Tickets in the top menu bar, click on a logo underneath the menu bar, or click on any of the featured tickets in the middle of your screen to start your search.

Finding discounted tickets on Undercover Tourist

After choosing your destination, you’ll be able to see lots of information about your chosen theme park, including maps, hotels, tips, and more. Scroll down a bit to find the availability calendar and ticket options.

Disney tickets through Undercover Tourist

The tickets you buy through Undercover Tourist are exactly the same as if you purchased them directly from the park, except you’ll probably save some money.

After choosing the type and number of tickets you need, you’ll be able to see your final price and choose your travel dates. The price you see is what you’ll pay — taxes are included and shipping is free!

Paper Tickets vs. E-Tickets

You may be inclined to have your tickets emailed to you, but there are some risks. E-tickets are non-refundable, and you’ll need to stop at Will Call at the gate to pick up your physical tickets. For Disney tickets, if you have a MagicBand, you can add the e-tickets to your account and proceed directly to the gate, but they’ll still be non-refundable.

Instead, it may be a better idea to have the physical tickets mailed to you. This option is also free and the tickets will be eligible for a refund. Plus, you’ll be able to go straight to the gate at the park which can be a huge timesaver.

Paper vs emailed tickets from Undercover Tourist

Refundable Tickets

Many tickets sold on Undercover Tourist are refundable within 90 days of purchase. To get a refundable ticket, you’ll need to have tickets mailed to you vs. opting for email delivery. Refundable tickets will be clearly marked. Be sure to confirm the return policy for your specific tickets before completing your purchase.

If you need to return tickets that you purchased, you’ll be charged a 5% fee to cover the return.

Hot Tip: E-tickets are non-refundable. To get a ticket that is eligible for a refund, you’ll need to select the Mailed To Your Door  option.

Travel Insurance

Before finalizing your purchase, you’ll be prompted to add travel insurance. Before choosing whether or not to add insurance to your purchase, you’ll want to learn about all of your options.

Undercover Tourist offers insurance through Allianz Global Assistance , a popular travel insurance company. However, the policy offered by Undercover Tourist covers lots of areas that may already be covered through your credit card including trip cancellation and interruption , lost or delayed baggage, and travel accident insurance, so it may not be needed.

If you purchase tickets that are eligible for a refund, insurance is probably not necessary. If you’re also booking a hotel or rental car, take a minute to determine if you have a credit card with rental car insurance  before purchasing a separate policy.

Undercover Tourist Crowd Calendar

The Undercover Tourist Crowd Calendar is a popular feature on the site that helps you identify the least and most crowded times to visit a specific park.

To access the Crowd Calendar, just click on Crowd Calendar in the top menu bar of the website.

How to find the Crowd Calendar on Undercover Tourist

You’ll be able to look at specifics for a handful of the most popular destinations:

  • Discovery Cove
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • Magic Kingdom Park
  • Universal’s Islands of Adventure
  • Universal Studios Florida
  • Universal’s Volcano Bay

Undercover Tourist Crowd Calendar

Hot Tip: The Undercover Tourist Crowd Calendar is a color-coded chart that helps you predict which parks will be more or less crowded on a specific day.

Undercover Tourist mobile app

If you’re headed to Orlando, be sure to download the Undercover Tourist Orlando Planning App, free for iOS . This handy app will take the stress out of trying to navigate the parks on your own with features like an interactive map, up-to-date park information, park plans, and estimated wait times.

The app covers Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld Orlando.

The Frog Guarantee and Frog Family Promise

The Frog Guarantee and Frog Family Promise are not price guarantees, rather they’re guarantees of quality and customer service.

The Frog Guarantee

When purchasing amusement park tickets through Undercover Tourist you’ll always receive:

  • Authentic tickets from an authorized seller
  • Free standard shipping
  • No hidden fees
  • 90-day refund/return policy (not applicable to e-tickets)
  • RFID enabled and Genie+ eligible Disney tickets
  • Next-day pickup or delivery availability

Price Comparisons

So, let’s answer the question you really want to know, “Can Undercover Tourist save me money?”

To do this, we priced out some ticket options for 1 adult on Undercover Tourist and compared those to what we could get directly from the park’s website.

In every single example we priced out, Undercover Tourist was the cheapest option! If you’re looking for discounted tickets to Walt Disney World and other popular theme parks, you’ll probably save money by using Undercover Tourist.

Hot Tip: You can NOT use Disney gift cards to pay for tickets through Undercover Tourist. So, if you’ve been collecting gift cards from stores with high points bonuses (like grocery stores ), you’ll need to purchase your tickets directly through the park.

Purchasing tickets to an amusement park can be expensive. So, of course, you’ll want to make sure you’re earning as many points as possible on your purchase.

Amusement park tickets usually code as “entertainment,” so if you’re purchasing them directly, you’ll want to use a credit card that offers bonus categories on entertainment purchases . The Citi Premier ® Card earns 2 points per dollar spent on entertainment purchases, including tickets to amusement parks.

However, purchases from Undercover Tourist code as “travel” which opens up the door to earn points on a variety of different credit cards. These credit cards all earn bonus points on the travel category, which will include amusement park tickets purchased from Undercover Tourist.

Earn 3x points on travel purchases with these credit cards:

  • Ink Business Preferred ® Credit Card
  • Chase Sapphire Reserve ®
  • Citi Premier card

Earn 2x points on travel purchases with these credit cards:

  • Chase Sapphire Preferred ® card
  • Capital One ® Venture ® Rewards card

Hot Tip: If you have an American Express card, check to see if Amex Offers has any current money-back offers from Undercover Tourist.

While Undercover Tourist is known as the place to buy theme park tickets, the site also acts as an online travel agency for booking hotels.

To get started, click on Hotels in the top menu bar. Then select your destination from the drop-down box and enter the number of travelers and your travel dates.

Your search results will be displayed in a format similar to other hotel booking websites that you may be familiar with (like Expedia , Priceline , Hotels.com , etc). Filtering options will be available on the left side of your screen and sorting options are located on the upper right-hand side, above the results.

Undercover Tourist Hotels filtering and sorting

Unlike with tickets on Undercover Tourist, the prices you see initially don’t include tax. You’ll have to click through to the payment page to see the full price with taxes and fees included.

Cancellation policies will vary by the hotel but will be clearly displayed once you add an item to your cart.

Undercover Tourist Hotel cancellation policy

Hot Tip: If you’re traveling to Florida to enjoy the theme parks, check out these places to stay in Orlando for your Disney vacation!

Let’s take a look at a couple of examples to see if booking a hotel through Undercover Tourist can save you money. For both of these examples, we priced out a week-long stay for 2 adults and 1 child. Prices include taxes and fees and are for the hotel stay only (tickets are not included).

The results are typical of most price comparisons we do — they aren’t consistent! Undercover Tourist had the best price for the first option, but Trivago came out with the best price in the second example. The bottom line is that you can definitely save money by using Undercover Tourist for your hotel stay, but not always.

The car rental search functionality on the Undercover Tourist website is pretty limited. You’ll only be able to search for car rentals at Orlando International Airport (MCO) from only 5 car rental companies — Alamo, Avis , Budget , Enterprise , and National .

Undercover Tourist Car Rental

We did a couple of searches to find out if booking your Orlando car rental through Undercover Tourist could save you money. We searched for the cheapest price for a week-long rental on 2 different dates.

In both of these examples, Undercover Tourist came out as the second most expensive option. Interestingly, Momondo  had the lowest price and Priceline had the highest price in both examples.

Undercover Tourist may be a great place to purchase theme park tickets, but it’s not a great option when you’re searching for a rental car.

Undercover Tourist is a popular website for purchasing theme park tickets on the cheap. It also acts as an online travel agency for hotels and car rentals, but only in select cities.

It’s a great site to use to save some money on theme park tickets, but the savings on hotels and cars aren’t as consistent.

Before you head to Disney, check out some of our helpful guides including re-opening plans , packing lists , and even how to visit virtually .

The information regarding the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card was independently collected by Upgraded Points and not provided nor reviewed by the issuer. The information regarding the Citi Premier ® Card has expired and the card is no longer open to applicants.

Where to Get Discount SeaWorld San Diego Tickets – Our Guide to getting Cheap SeaWorld Tickets

SeaWorld the once Jewel in the West Coast Theme Park Crown has become somewhat maligned in recent years, but the part is undergoing something of a resurgence of late and visitors are heading back to the park in their droves, fuelled by post-pandemic (well mid pandemic) pent up demand. We still love the Park, its ever-growing line-up of roller coasters and thrill rides, amazing animal shows, and fantastic aquatic aquarium exhibit the park holds a special place in our hearts despite the slightly guilty feeling we get from knowing keeping Orca CAptice is quite wrong in today’s climate.

We go into great detail about our feeling on this in our SeaWorld San Diego Review here, and we take an in-depth look at all of the park’s current and upcoming Rides here . But We are assuming if you have found your way to this page you have already decided you want to visit the park and are looking for ways to reduce the cost. We have you covered and will show you exactly Where to Get Discount SeaWorld San Diego Tickets. We look at buying direct, investigate the best Online Ticket Resellers, Point out where to avoid, and give you our Number-One tip on saving hundreds of $dollars when visiting SeaWorld along with dozens of other San Diego Attractions!

Our Guide to Getting Cheap SeaWorld San Diego Tickets could save you hundreds per family on your San Diego Adventure!

How Much Does SeaWorld San Diego Cost?

First up let’s take a look at the basic costs, right now the park is really great value! Prices start from $59.99 for weekday Tickets and $75.99 for Weekend Tickets. When you compare this with other SoCal Themeparks it’s a really low entry price.

Weekday Ticket – $95.99 Gate – $59.99 Online

Weekend Ticket – $95.99 Gate – $75.99 Online

Two-Day Ticket – $191.98 – $89.99 Online

Front Of The Line Pass – From $15

Obviously, you can see it pays to book in advance! Gate prices are silly really when you can save so much just by booking online first. We are sure some people still do this but as you have found this page, we are sure at the very least you will make use of the online booking option.

Currently, you need to purchase tickets for the actual day you intend to visit. This is due to restricted numbers due to Covid, and may ever back to the simpler two-tier system of just weekday and weekend pricing.

Naturally, Visitors from out of town can often make use of the much cheaper weekday prices with the added bonus of the park being much quieter.

SeaWorld San Diego Annual Passes

SeaWorld Anual Passes also off seriously good value for people wanting to visit regularly. Naturally, these are usually locals (and some of the passes are restricted to Socal Residents) However an annual Pass can be only a little more than a 1-day ticket and come with quite a list of Perks!

2022 Funcard – $99.99

Valid for the rest of the year and right through 2022 the SeaWorld Fun Card gives you unlimited visits to the park, any day of the week with only fairly limited blackout dates. It is great value but does not come with the same Perks as the slightly more expensive Annual Passes. These come in 4 Tiers:

SoCal – $108

  • 50% Off General Parking

For residents only and the cheapest option but with limited perks and no free guest passes there is little value to be had here. General Parking is $25 or $12.50 with the SoCal Pass, we assume you want to come twice if you are buying a pass so just the parking benefit makes the Silver better value, plus the Free Guest Passes, in-park discounts, AND free SkyRide and SkyTower !

Silver – $126

● Free General Parking ● 2 Free Guest Tickets ● Up to 20% Discount on In-Park Offerings

A great value Pass with a host of benefits, it’s not hard to make this pass Pay for itself many times over if you live nearby the park!

Gold – $156

● Free Up-Close Parking ● 4 Free Guest Tickets ● Up to 30% Discount on In-Park Offerings

The Gold pass is only a little bit more expensive and comes with a host of nice perks, but really they are probably not worth the extra $30, unless you can use the Free Guest Passes. If you can use up these then they easily make the extra cost worth it!

Platinum – $237

● Free Up-Close Parking ● 6 Free Guest Tickets ● Up to 50% Discount on In-Park Offerings

The Platinum Pass is even more expensive and while the perks go up another level they nowhere near compensate for the huge price hike! However, the Platinum Pass not only gets you into SeaWorld San Diego but also into all 11 SeaWorld Parks across the country!

  • San Diego – SeaWorld
  • Orlando, FL – SeaWorld
  • San Antonio, TX – SeaWorld
  • Tampa Bay, FL – Busch Gardens
  • Williamsburg, VA – Busch Gardens
  • San Diego – Aquatica
  • Orlando, FL – Aquatica
  • San Antonio, TX – Aquatica
  • Philidelphia, PA – Sesame Place
  • Tampa Bay, FL – Adventure Island
  • Williamsburg, VA – Water Country USA

So it’s incredible value but only if you are planning on getting about to quite a few parks!

Where to Buy SeaWorld Tickets?

So Far we have looked only at Direct Prices from SeaWorld themselves. Often this can simply be the best option. Booking Direct cuts out any middlemen and often gets you the best prices. We often find Ticket Resellers often advertise cheaper prices but when you Drill-down the actual prices are often more expensive, they also sometimes do not keep up with the latest prices and discounts.

This can mean booking direct is often the easiest and simplest way of going around things. It is certainly the case with certain tickets that are simply only available direct such as some Multi-Day Tickets and some Annual Passes. You can also set up monthly payments for Annual Passes which helps spread the cost.

<<< Book SeaWorld Direct Now >>>

There are however some really good resellers out there, and these can not only offer better prices but as much, and sometimes more, customer support than Booking Direct.

Best Ticket Resellers USA

Undercover tourist.

Undercover Tourist are the Titans of ticket Resellers and are really our go-to site for booking. They do not offer staggering discounts but are always cheaper than going direct and often as cheap as anywhere else. They also have incredible Buying power and can often resolve issues that SeaWorld themselves are unwilling to sort.

Discounts are not always huge, but every little helps and there is very little reason to not book through Undercover Tourist. They also never add hidden fees and the price you see is what you pay. SeaWorld adds a sneaky $9.99 booking fee on top, not so with Undercover Tourist.

Overall as far as Resellers go Undercover Tourist is the top of the tree. It couldn’t be more reliable or respected and really is the go-to site. The only downside is the n;y slight savings available and the more limited options than going direct.

Note – The Pandemic has like for so many of us, has caused us to have many trips canceled. This has been not only a terrible disappointment but also an incredible headache. Canceling trips arranging and chasing Refunds and everything that goes with canceled trips.

We had a number of Park tickets booked through Undercover Tourist and when it came to refunds they came through in glorious fashion. They first offered to extend tickets, which would work for many but was no good for us. When we told them this was not an option for us, they simply arranged a swift and full refund. Of all the companies we dealt with recently to get refunds for cancelations, Undercover Tourist we one of the best!

Where to get the Absolute Cheapest SeaWorld Tickets?

Let’s start with a Caveat First. This is only the best option if you want to visit other San Diego Attractions. If you JUST want to Visit SeaWorld then either buying Direct or using Undercover Tourist. However many visitors to San Diego and the Socal Region, in general, are looking to visit quite a few different attractions.

If this sounds like you then an Attraction Pass could save you hundreds of Dollars off entry fees. Our Favorite Pass for the San Diego Area is the Go San Diego Pass. This Pass feature a host of top San Diego Attractions such as SeaWorld , San Diego Zoo , LEGOLAND California, Harbor Crises , USS Midway , Knotts Berry Farm, and Belmont Park.

On top of these, there are a ton of smaller attractions such as Museums , Whale Watching, Paddle Boarding, Kayaking, and Bike Rentals. You can even Take a Speedboat tour! It’s an incredible offering and only costs between $91 – $295 depending on how many days you purchase. This can easily save 50-60% on attractions, which racks up to several Hundred Dollars per person.

It’s a big outlay so we suggest you take a look at our full review to see if the Pass is a good idea for you, but on the whole, we find They not only save us money but also really open up the City and allows us to see far more than we would have otherwise, which is a bit of a holy grail for Travel

Read our Full Review here

And if you want to save EVEN more then we have discount codes for the Pass here!

Just Visiting San Diego Zoo, Sea World, and Legoland more than covers the Pass cost and anything else is technically free! It really can be a great way to visit San Diego and Save.

Where NOT to get SeaWorld Tickets from?

So we have covered where to get tickets from but you may have a different idea or have seen some really cheap Tickets Elsewhere. There can be some big problems with Buying from certain places.

Other Ticket Resellers

There are a lot of Ticket Resellers on the Internet. And some may seem to offer even better prices than Undercover Tourist or Direct. However often they have hidden fees and by the time you get to the Checkout, the price has inflated. However, Undercover Tourist is not the absolute cheapest every time and can be beaten.

Many people do secure good deals through these Resellers and have a great trip. However, problems occur when things go wrong, such as needed a refund for a canceled trip. Some of the less reputable Resellers can be a bit of a pain to deal with and getting refunds is sometimes challenging.

We can’t vet every reseller and for the tiny amount you might save it really isn’t worth the risk.

eBay, Craigslist or Facebook

If you see tickets for sale on the second-hand marketplaces you really are dicing with trouble. Sometimes there are real bargains to be found, other times it’s a pure scam. We just don’t think it’s worth the potential disappointment of arriving at the gate with fake tickets and having to pay the full gate price or leave disappointed!

Be especially careful with part used passes, these will almost always be fake, as passes are photo-ID’s to the first user!

Hotel Concierge

Many people still wait until they get to town before booking tickets, and ask their hotel Concierge if they can hook them up. While they certainly will and get you a “great deal” it is almost certainly worse than you can get online yourself! They will be valid genuine tickets but pricey, maybe slightly below Gate, but not much!

Timeshare Sharks

This is not a huge problem in San Diego but it does still occur. These sharks will accost you in the street offering you FREE tickets to SeaWorld, the Zoo, even Disneyland. All they ask is you partake in their short presentation.

These are never short, instead, they are a high-pressure sales pitch trying to coerce you into buying a timeshare condo you don’t want and probably can’t afford. The Rewards are NEVER worth the time they rob you of. If someone randomly approaches you in the street…Smile and walk-on

Too Good To Be True

As ever, if you see a deal or offer that is just too good to be true, it probably is. The one exception this is the Go San Diego Pass , which really can seem too good to be true but is 100% Legit!

Have Your Say

Where do you buy your SeaWorld San Diego Tickets from? Do you have a recommended Seller, do you just go Direct? Maybe you have a horror story? Whatever you have to say just fire away in the comments below, we would love to hear from you.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reply from Undercover Tourist

Dear Jay, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you've encountered. We strive to provide exceptional service, and it's disheartening to hear that we fell short of your expectations. We understand that changes in plans can be frustrating, and we're sorry for any confusion regarding our cancellation policy. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and we'd like to clarify that our policy is indeed outlined in our terms and conditions, which can be found at https://www.undercovertourist.com/terms/. Regarding your specific case, we understand your frustration with the 5% penalty for cancellations. While this policy is in place to cover delivery, handling, and processing fees, we do recognize that each situation is unique. As a gesture of goodwill, we occasionally have the flexibility to waive this fee, particularly if the customer chooses to rebook with us. To better assist you, we have reached out on TrustPilot asking for additional details so that we can look into this matter further. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention, and we hope to have the chance to regain your trust in the future. Hopping to assist you soon, The Undercover Tourist Customer Experience Team

Deal with this lot at your peril!

Wish I hadn’t used these rip off thieving clowns! Ordered tickets which were promptly sent and then so promptly cancelled while they held on to my money! Id give them minus stars but best i can do is just the one and thats one star too many! Save yourself the aggro and hassle of dealing with second rate thieves like i have. Like many others, wish id read their reviews first, in essence, its a lesson learnt! DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE GUYS at your peril, id rather have paid more for my tickets than dealing with this total shower of poo! These see you next Tuesdays have effing ruined a trip I have been planning for 2 years!

We apologize your tickets bought were cancelled. Please provide us the order details and we will gladly look into this matter.

Update… I actually got the ticket the day before the show so not 48 hrs it was less than 24 hrs..Ugghhh I wish I had read these reviews first!! I am so BS right now Honestly, I wouldn’t even put a star there but you have to put a star there. I am so upset with this company I can’t even begin to explain. I wish I had done some serious research before purchasing tickets. I spent $300 for tickets in December for a comedy show in April I have a wedding coming up that I wasn’t aware about so I tried to call to get a refund which I could not do through them so therefore I tried to see if I could get my tickets so I could sell them through an online website, but apparently you don’t get your tickets up until possibly two days before the day of the show so you expect me to get my tickets two days before the show and then someone to buy tickets within two days so I’m pretty much gonna be out $300 and they were not helpful at all. They just said keep checking your email. It could be two days before I am so upset. I am pretty much out $300. I will never ever use them again .

Date of experience : April 06, 2024

We apologize you did not get the tickets at the time you were expecting them. Preferred Access tickets are broker tickets that can be sent to the guest on its "on hand date" or even after. If you can provide us an order number, we will be more than happy to investigate this matter.

Don’t buy concert tickets from them…

Don’t buy concert tickets from them unless you want to wait nearly two months to receive them !! They take your money fast enough but unless you call them you aren’t aware you have to wait until the ACTUAL TICKET SELLER makes contact with you . And you can’t have your money back either . Will NOT be buying anything else from them and will recommend my friends to do the same . The first guy I spoke to there was offhand with me and was very quick to tell me these tickets aren’t refundable. Plus they had a discount voucher that was on the checkout total but amazingly disappeared when I pressed pay !! As far as I’m concerned they are a rip off site . I payed with PayPal so I’m poised to open a dispute if I don’t see my tickets as I’ve been told . DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE BE WARNED

Date of experience : March 08, 2024

The customer bought Preferred Access tickets which are from trust sellers. There is an in-hand date, and the tickets are guaranteed to get to the customer. Per the seller, the average in-hand date is 2 days before the show and the customer's show is not until the end time of June. We will ask if the seller can send it sooner but that will be up to them and their inventory in terms of sending it out.

Should have read the reviews here…

Should have read the reviews here first. Not happy with this company. Bought 4 day tickets plus options to WDW for 4 adults cost $2,635.80 (US). Thought I was getting a good deal. Now find advised on the WDW official website for the same days as $2,198.16 (US). Undercover Tourist have advised bad luck and no difference refund. Cannot recommend them.

Date of experience : March 15, 2024

As a 3rd party out, rates are contracted by the actual park to which our discount is compared to the gate price. As we try our best to keep costs low there maybe times due to dates and specials the park's website could be lower. Please provide us an order number and we will gladly investigate this.

I would give negative stars if I could

I would give negative stars if I could. I purchased Universal Studios VIP tour tickets from them and then wanted to change the time of the tour. They told me they couldn't do it and to call Universal. I called Universal and they told me that only Undercover Tourist could do it. I called UT again and they had me pay for new tickets for the time I wanted and then refunded me for the original purchase... It's now 2 days before my trip and the new tickets won't scan with the Universal app but the old ones will. Zero. Effs. Given. by UT support. They are insisting that the new tickets are valid - went through the same back-and-forth between them and Universal - and they won't do anything about it. I asked what to do if I get to Universal and my tickets don't work... they said to call them. Fingers crossed that I actually get into the park/onto my tour! I will NEVER use Undercover Tourist again.

Date of experience : February 21, 2024

I show we took care of your issue and advised you of the new tickets to the park. If you are still having an issue, please kindly reach out to us. We do not show any issues since we spoke to you back in February.

Recently bought a Black Friday deal for…

Recently bought a Black Friday deal for sea world San Diego. Called customer service a few times on the buy one get one free ticket and was duped into buying several sets to get free tickets. Turns out their deal was no better than one provided directly on Sea World website. With my dollars, hours of call time with three different representatives I will not use their site again.

Date of experience : November 20, 2023

As a 3rd party, these tickets come from the actual partner. We work carefully with our partners to provide our guests with the best deals possible. Please provide us an order number from last year and we will investigate the price difference.

The worst experience 0 star they sold…

We apologize you are unable to use your ticket. Please provide us an order number and we will look into this matter if it is not resolved or investigated.

Intentionally Obtuse Customer Service

Scam company with nonexistent customer service. If you get any response from them regarding an issue, it will be something like, “I’m sorry. We don’t understand your concern. Can you please explain it to us again for the 3rd time?” Screenshots, detailed step-by-step explanations, phone conversations… Nothing works. They basically will try to wear you down until you determine that it’s no longer worth your time. Avoid this company at all costs.

Date of experience : August 07, 2023

We apologize this happened to you last year and we would like to see what happened. Please provide us the order details and we will look into this matter to improve our customer service to which you were disappointed.

We had to wait for an hour at Busch…

We had to wait for an hour at Busch Gardens for someone to know what to do with our voucher. I gave them 3 stars since this may not be their fault but these vouchers aren’t universally recognized. We also had to wait in a line at Aquatica to get a manager to print real tickets. I would say not really worth the lower price for the worry and stress that it won’t be accepted or recognized.

We apologize you had issues with the gate when you arrived. We strive to provide our guests the best tickets around for an excellent price and we aim to please our guests. If you ever have issues like this again, please call us and we will investigate this thoroughly.

Smooth experience

Bought three Disneyland tickets and it was very smooth. At first I was skeptical after reading all the bad reviews, but decided to test my luck since they offer a few bucks off. I did encounter their "validation" progress, but it was super simple - just enter the pending amount they hold on your credit card. After this was complete, I received tickets within one minutes. The tickets were valid on Disney website.

Thanks for all your help

Thanks for all your help. My money has been refunded and back in my account today after we had to get a refund on our Universal Studios tickets. Fantastic communication and reassurance during a very tricky time. We are hoping to come back to Orlando next year🤞and won't hesitate to recommend and use Undercover Tourist for our park tickets. It's not how people treat you when things are good but how they treat you when things are bad that shows their true colours. You've all been wonderful at helping us on this difficult time. Thank you once again and stay safe 💜 🐸

Horrible. Processed my transaction without security clearance. I had decided to purchase elsewhere and never completed the purchase but an hour later I got an email confirming the purchase that I never completed. I called immediately and was told after some argument and them talking to their supervisor that the refund was approved. Then a week went by with no refund so I contacted them again. They said they had to put in the request again and this time it was denied. I told them it had already been approved and to go back and listen to the first call. They said they did and it was never approved (I 100% know it was) so I asked forna copy of the recording but of course they said they can't give that to me. Because they lied and it was approved. Regardless, allowing the charge to go through in the first place without security clearance is fraud!

We apologize you had issues with your order in the past. If this issue is not resolved, please contact us or provide us a proper order number to look into this.

Very Misleading, Won’t Change Dates

Tickets are cheaper, and they advertise “90 day ticket return” and that you can use them for 365 days. BUT if you don’t read the fine print, that’s only some tickets. I tried to change our Universal Hollywood tickets to one day earlier and they absolutely refused. Very misleading (even my email at the top says 90 day return)! Never will I use them again or recommend them again!

Date of experience : August 26, 2023

We apologize some tickets have different cancellation policies. The guest bought a date ticket for Universal so if you miss that date, we are unable to refund the guest. We highly recommend that our guests read all terms of sales and details before buying especially if it is a date ticket they are buying.

New York City pass direct from the…

New York City pass direct from the website has a full refund - when you purchase from them there is NO REUFND. What a scam I'd highly suggest NOT purchasing anything from them and using directly with the company vrs a third party

Date of experience : September 12, 2023

As a 3rd party, we can always reach out to the partner and see if the non-refundable ticket can be canceled and refunded. Please provide us with your order details from last year if this matter was not looked into properly.

Simple, genuine and 1-day Disney Tix!

It's midnight in the UK 8th October 2022. I've just booked two 1-day tickets for my kids for the 18th Oct. I couldn't find 1-day tickets anywhere else (the missus and I already have long-term tickets). Wanted to book in advance because reservations were only available for the 18th and 20th for the Park we wanted and we were concerned it would become unavailable like the other dates we are in the US. UT was an Absolute doddle. Booked the tickets - paid via PayPal - got the tickets emailed to me immediately. Spoke on Chat to Louise beforehand, who allayed any fears I had before booking and was swift in her replies and helpful. I used the 12 character reference on my e-tickets to immediately make the Park reservation on the Disney site and it all went through fine. Very happy and recommend.

The Disneyland tickets were a good deal. But the hotel never reserved properly, leaving us scrambling for a hotel and paying almost $300 more because of their system. Instead of trying to fix the issue, they kept giving a run around of "that can happen, sorry to hear, sucks to be you" replies. I found another app (Klook) that I am trying next.

We apologize this happened to you two years ago. We always want to improve the issues we deal with our hotel suppliers and love the feedback our guest gives us. Please provide the order details and we can always investigate this further.

Do not recommend

Horrible checkout experience with the payment verification. Finally was able to book, but when we went to check in to our hotel we learned they had cancelled our reservation despite already charging us in full for it. Had to book the hotel out of pocket at less than ideal rates. Have not received any response back from them nor a refund. Do not recommend.

Date of experience : November 26, 2022

We apologize the order failed and you had to buy at the hotel. We would love to investigate this matter that happened a few years ago. Please provide us the details and we can check to make sure future issues like this do not happen with our hotel suppliers.

Fine until you need help

The problem with undercovertourist is their inability to help when there's a problem. I wanted to change the date of a Universal ticket. Universal customer service was like, "sure, no problem, we do that all the time" until they found out that we had purchased through a travel agent (Undercover Tourist), and then they said we needed to talk to the travel agent. So I called Undercover Tourist. That person was no help: He said he could issue us new tickets for the date we wanted, and then try to cancel the existing ones, but he wasn't sure if the cancellation would succeed. I'm like I need to know that before we buy the new tickets, and he was like, no, you need to buy first and find out in about 24 hours if you paid double. I asked to talk to a supervisor. He said someone would call me in a couple hours. Nobody did. If I had bought direct through Universal, they could have helped no problem.

As a 3rd party, these tickets come directly from the park. They are considered a final sale and as the 3rd party, we can see if they can be canceled from the system. I they are not able to be refunded we would have to reach out to the park to see if they which is not always a guarantee depending on terms of sale and dates of cancellation. We are checking on the status of this matter to see what happened.

SCAM AND NO REFUND

I PURCHASED SOME TICKETS AND THEN GOT A BETTER DEAL IN ANOTHER PAGE, HOWEVER I'M STUCK BECAUSE I CANNOT GET A FULL REFUND, AS PROMISED, ONLY 95%.... THAT IS A TOTAL SCAM! LOL THEY COULD GIVE ME 100% IF I PURCHASED ANOTHER THING FROM THEIR SITE.

Date of experience : June 12, 2023

We apologize but as a 3rd party if we need to cancel with the partner and it is approved, we might have to charge the 5% fee as advised on our terms of sale. Please provide us last year's order number and we will look into this matter.

Undercover Tourist: US Theme Park Tickets at reduced prices

undercover tourist san diego

Undercover Tourist is a great place to buy discounted US theme park tickets. I had the opportunity to test it recently during a trip to Walt Disney World.

Undercover Tourist : the parks

In Florida, Undercover Tourist offers discounted theme park tickets for the most famous ones: Disney World, Universal Orlando , SeaWorld, LEGOLAND and Busch Gardens.

Here are the top links to buy your discounted theme park tickets in Orlando:

  • Disney World: discounted tickets
  • Universal Orlando: discounted tickets
  • SeaWorld: discounted tickets
  • LEGOLAND: discounted tickets
  • Busch Gardens: discounted tickets

By purchasing your Disney World or Disneyland tickets via Undercover Tourist, you can then easily link them to the My Disney Experience interface.

For Disney World, you get substantial discounts through Undercover Tourist compared to the price on the Disney website.

For an adult, count on savings of between $36 and $80 depending on the length of time chosen. For a family of 4, the average savings through Undercover Tourist is $200.

For example, by purchasing 5-day Hopper and Genie+ tickets to Disney World through Undercover Tourist, a family of 4 saves $229 US.

Below, you’ll find out which is the best card to use to buy your discounted theme park tickets through Undercover Tourist .

In California, Undercover Tourist also offers discounted theme park tickets for the better known parks: Disneyland Resort, Universal Studios Hollywood, SeaWorld San Diego and LEGOLAND California.

Here are the top links to buy your discount theme park tickets in California:

  • Undercover Tourist Disneyland Resort
  • Undercover Tourist Universal Studios Hollywood
  • Undercover Tourist SeaWorld San Diego
  • Undercover Tourist LEGOLAND California

Undercover Tourist : other advantages

Please note: tickets purchased through Undercover Tourist are refundable (for a 5% fee) unlike those purchased directly from the theme parks.

Also, you can possibly benefit from other promotions after buying discounted theme park tickets through Undercover Tourist : discounted car rental, discounted hotel rooms, etc.

Finally, Undercover Tourist offers a must-have tool to consult before buying discounted theme park tickets : the Crowd Calendar.

For each of the parks, you can see essential information such as:

  • Opening hours
  • Generally occupied or recommended park
  • Public holidays
  • Special celebrations in the parks

Undercover Tourist: the best credit card to pay your tickets with

Undercover Tourist is a website based in the United States. All transactions are thus made in US dollars.

To pay for your discounted theme park tickets, I recommend using a credit card with no foreign currency conversion fees .

Here are the top 3 credit cards with no-FX fees :

I used the Undercover Tourist service to purchase a ticket to Disney World (I got the other ones with AIR MILES).

To make the purchase (and also all our on-site purchases), I used my HSBC World Elite ® Mastercard ® : this Card classifies Undercover Tourist as a travel agency.

You get 6 points per dollar on the purchase without paying any foreign currency conversion fees.

For this purchase of $725.75 CAD, I collected 4,354 points:

  • 2,177 base points
  • 2,177 bonus points (travel category)

Then you can apply your points to the purchase of the tickets on the card!

Here is the current welcome offer for this card :

Bottom Line

Undercover Tourist is the best platform to buy your theme park tickets at discounted prices! Remember to use the right credit card to pay!
