BTS Sells Astonishing 44,000 Tickets For South American Leg Of Wing Tour; Also Fastest Selling Show In Chile’s History

Bts is hitting it big.

Korean boy group BTS is spreading its wings wide open as they successfully wrapped up the South American leg of their world tour. According to Big Hit Entertainment , the septet sold about 44,000 tickets during their concerts in Chile and Brazil.

Rap Monster , V , J-Hope , Jungkook , Suga , Jimin,  and Jin held ‘2017 BTS Live Trilogy Episode III: The Wings Tour’ in Santiago, Chile on March 11 and 12 at Movistar Arena. On March 19 and 20, the group performed at Citibank Hall in San Paulo, Brazil.

BTS became the fastest Korean boy group to sell out the Chile’s biggest indoor arena, according to Puntoticket, the ticket sales and distribution company. It also added that the ‘Wings Tour’ concert was the fastest selling show in Chile’s history, only comparable to American band Maroon 5 ‘s 2016 concert in the area.

The overwhelming response of fans prompted for an additional date to the Chilean leg of the tour, originally slated for an one-night concert on March 12.

The boys expressed their gratitude for the support and love they have been receiving. “You are our wings and thanks to you, we think we are flying well,” BTS said in a statement. They also added that they look forward to sharing more laughing and crying moments with fans.

They also tweeted photos, with captions relaying their thanks to the fans who went to see them.

After visiting Chile and Brazil, the septet will embark on the North American leg of their tour in Newark, Chicago, and Anaheim. Shows for the Newark and Anaheim were sold out as early as December 2016.

The ‘Wings Tour’ will also visit Australia, Philippines, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, and Japan.

BTS Adds One More Date To Wings Tour After Show Sells Out In Record Time

Global phenomenon,  BTS , has decided to treat fans to an additional day of their Wings   Tour .

Chile was the only country on the tour to have only one concert date, but now fans who were not able to snag a ticket have another chance at seeing their beloved group.

The Wings Tour is set to kick off on February 18 in South Korea and then the boys will head out to Chile, Brazil, and the U.S. The March 12 show in Chile sold out in a matter of two hours, and now a March 11 concert has been added to the Chilean leg of the tour.

BTS is very popular in Chile and was even featured in a Chilean digital newspaper that also confirmed the addition to the tour. The article mentions how incredible it was for the group to sell out the show, setting a record as the fastest sold show , and how it could only be comparable to Maroon 5’s concert in 2015.

At the beginning of the year, Big Hit Entertainment stated that their hope for the new year is to make BTS global stars  and they are well on their way to doing just that. Insiders also previously revealed that we can expect the group to release a new album in February, and after the tour, BTS will continue to produce great music for their fans.

BTS: When Jungkook collapsed during K-pop group's Chile concert and members panicked, watch

Bts member jungkook was unwell when he and the other members were in chile, performing as a part of their 2017 the wings tour. .

BTS members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook have always ensured that they put on the best shows for their fans. Since the inception of the K-pop group, they have travelled to world different countries, hosted concerts and made numerous memories with fans. However, when BTS travelled to Chile, as a part of their 2017 The Wings Tour, the members did not anticipate Jungkook falling sick, let alone collapsing. 

In the documentary Burn The Stage, BTS took fans through the happy moments and the hardships they faced through the tour. In the second and third episodes of the series, it was revealed that Jungkook was unwell during the concert and ended up collapsing after the show ended. 

“I didn't know I'd collapse like that. It's the first time that happened to me. I was very flustered,” Jungkook said in a post concert interview. “It was too hot, and he overworked himself. I think that's why it happened. It wasn't a mental problem. So I felt relieved about that,” RM said. 

“But, we had just started and I'm in charge of speaking for the group. So I was thinking, 'We just started the show. There's no replacement for Jungkook. What do I do?' Seeing myself thinking that way made me feel pathetic. Like, 'What am I doing?' He might not even be able to perform. He looked like he recovered, so I felt relieved. But since I have to speak for us, it's very hard for me when these things happen. Because I'm also a kid,” he added. 

After the concert, BTS members sans Jungkook came together to have dinner together when they confessed they were worried for him. Suga also revealed that he cried in the washroom. However, Jungkook, despite his health condition, decided to go on because he wasn't sure when he would meet the fans in Chile again.

BTS were slated to kickstart their concert Map of the Soul Tour last year. However, owing to the pandemic, the members had to delay the tour and eventually cancel it. Instead, they have hosted online streaming concerts. Last year, they held two Bang Bang Cons and this year, on the occasion of their anniversary, they hosted Muster Sowoozoo 2021.

BTS Live Trilogy Episode III: The Wings Tour

BTS Live Trilogy Episode III: The Wings Tour (stylized in all caps) was the second worldwide concert tour by BTS to promote their Wings series, including their second studio album Wings and their repackage You Never Walk Alone . The tour began on February 18, 2017 and concluded on December 10, 2017 in South Korea.

On July 16, 2017, BTS announced new tour dates under the name BTS Live Trilogy Episode III: The Wings Tour The Final starting on December 8, 2017 at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, South Korea. [1]

This tour also was the Episode III of the BTS Live Trilogy, with the BTS Begins concerts as Part I and The Red Bullet as Part II.

Tickets for the US shows sold-out within a few minutes. Due to high demand, two more shows were announced in the Prudential Center and the Honda Center. With over 60,000 fans were in attendance in concerts across Newark, Chicago, and Anaheim. The group went on to sell out their concert headlined in Chile and became the fastest K-pop group to sell out the Movistar Arena, Chile's biggest indoor arena. The press release from Big Hit Entertainment quoted Chilean promoters as saying. According to Puntoticket, the Chilean ticket sales and distribution company, the BTS show was the fastest-selling show in Chile's history, only comparable to Maroon 5’s concert in 2016, selling more than 10,000 tickets in less than 2 hours.

In Asia, it was reported that BTS had sold 20,000 tickets in Bangkok, 20,000 in Manila, 10,000 in Hong Kong, and 145,000 across 6 cities in Japan.

• On November 4, Jimin was not able to participate in certain stages in the 'Wings Tour' concert in Macau, after experiencing muscle pains in his neck and shoulders, however, he was participating in the concert sitting in a chair. This also happened to Jung Kook on the BTS World Tour: Love Yourself in London on October 9. However, unlike Jimin, Jung Kook injured his foot after he collided with floor furnishes.

Whoops I posted this late again hehe :sweat_smile: my only excuses are post-concert-depression and school, sorry!

Now I will start the post but before I must say that part is rather long and informative than heavily emotional! (It's in two part in order to not publish long posts) Also, this post could include twitter links but I've tried my best to put the youtube ones :blush: . Lastly, I ask for your understanding or at least to be nice instead of rude :smile:

As you may or may not know, BTS arrived on Friday and we received them calmly, police and staff were protecting them so we never got close-close to them. Did you guys know that their arrival appeared on national TV? The production that brought BTS got them really good exposure during the weeks before: posters of the wings tour appeared on an kinda important(?) newspaper during the week of the concert as a countdown and before and after their arrival they (and armys) were talked about on diverse national TV channels. Anyways, what we did was sitting silently (or at least not loud) most of the time, until they appeared and we got excited :sweat_smile: and stand up and scream when we saw them. They waved at us and Hobi sent us a blowing kiss~! So cute :two_hearts: I repeat, everything was okay at the moment!

We also sang the happy birthday song when they were leaving the airport to Yoongi in english first and then korean! I think he heard us because we were loud.

While some of them were on the airport, some other were doing a huge line to buy Bangtan official merch!

Ah, I almost forgot to say that our BTS Chilean fanbases didn't have a gretting plan for their arrival in order to avoid disturbs for the guys and the rest of the people. So whoever who went to greet them was at it's own cost. Of course, the people who went to receive them organized themselves so it wasn't messy!

:black_nib: explanation about 'the incident'

You may or may not know that there was some controversy about us, Chilean Armys on we treated Bangtan the first day here. People started saying we were following them everywhere without giving them privacy, being noisy to the point of not letting them rest after a flight of 30 or so, attacking/throwing ourselves to them, that they will leave right after the concert because we did wrong, that we didn't respect the staff and many more things.

What's true and what isn't?

I'm going to be as clear as possible.

Did we follow them everywhere? Did we attacked them, not respecting their privacy, being noisy, etc?

On the first day, BTS went to the hotel and later to a restaurant/starbucks close by. In the hotel, there were fans waiting on the entrance but most of them weren't being hella loud, they were rather quiet and never entered the hotel because bh's staff & noix's staff (not that sure about the last one) were there making sure bts was safe but at some point some people came being loud. In the restaurant, the same occurred plus parents (I think) saying they wanted to meet them and because they were idols.

I believe that was wrong (and a lot of us think so) and we were mad too. The people who did and said that were not all of us and we were mad at their actions because literally, our fanbases were saying months/weeks before to not bother BTS and respect their privacy. I was angry and sad too because the boys could not enjoy that day by going outside, furthermore the internet was saying bad things of CH-Army and Chile which hurt to see. Those fans did leave after because staff took them out and/or because it was late at some point. So Bangtan did sleep and wasn't 'jailed' in their hotel rooms because of us. I ask you all to be careful with what you say because at least I was hurt to see that because of some 'fans' that did wrong everyone was saying horrible things. I don't know exactly why they did that but if you consider the fact that k-pop concerts in a Latin American country (besides Brazil) aren't common and seeing your idols is lesser you could understand a little why they were around them (if see your bias around you would take a pic of them, right? It's similar). You could also understand if you consider that Latin Americans tend to be more passionate, or maybe consider that there are people that totally don't know who the famous person close but still, they try to take pics. If you can consider this factors that happened all at the same time, it's more comprehensive. I am not saying it was totally correct, but I don't think the internacional and korean response should have turned this way, okay?

I want to clarify that the next days we didn't made any scandals and the fans that stayed at the hotel's entrance were quiet. Even more, we tried to not say where they were and to give a warning ti the ones that actually go. We also talked about calling police if things turned bad or about stopping the girls. The production that brought BTS and the concert were also taking care of the boys and the fans so nothing worse happened.

It's just a little disappointing that our Chilean fanbases told us to be calm and not do bad but some immature/indifferent people didn't listen nor thought about the consequences because after that we received harsh critics and hate :broken_heart: but I do understand that one can get angry if you heard horrible things because BTS deserves better, just please check if it's true.

:black_nib: day 1: 11/03

The next day we could finally say the tour was starting (internationally of course) with us! I didn't attend this day cause I don't have to money to pay for two concerts but somebody I know told me her experience; she went to a good place with enumerated seat so she didn't have to queue up in a line for hours to wait against the heat (that weekend the weather was hot af! around 30-34°c) :dizzy_face: . She paid around $140 for her ticket (w/recharge) if I did the calculation right. This is expensive, isn't?

Before I tell you her experience, I will list the songs performed on the two days of the concert, this are the most likely to perform on the other tour dates if you're curious and so far it has been the same. I hope I help you a little if you didn't know which songs learn the fanchants from or something else^^

Anyways, she said she got the banners from a tent (?) of the fanbases and a special banner (for the people located in her in the concert) that was given while she was on the line. She said that she loved all the solos and that Jin and Hoseok shocked her. She said: "armys were like one that day". Also, tears were falling down in her case at the end, she got a t-shirt & she made friends. Basically, BTS slayed her ass :joy: and it was wonderful for her. I can't say too much of her or her experience for reasons :relieved:

Now, before we start with her experience I have to say we had 4 projects prepared for this day (we had 5 for the second day!) in total they were 9 projects auto financed by the fanbases (meaning the production didn't pay, just armys paying for a project other armys planned). As many of you know, Yoongi's birthday was around this time and we had something for him! On this occasion we wanted to hold up some banners for him and sing him happy birthday in Korean but we sadly failed :sob: it was supposed to be after all the members introduced themselves but they went to the backstage so fast we hadn't the chance to say or do anything so not all projects go as planned.

【 SOPE PLAYING WITH THE GIANT ARMY BOMB 】

ARMY Chile was planning this months before, they always showed the giant bomb on Twitter and I'm so glad the boys played with it because they seemed so happy. We are nothing without our awesome fanbases I swear :sob: :two_hearts:

【 JUNGKOOK WAS GIVEN A ROSE & A TOY BEAR 】

On the 11th, a fan gave jungkook a beautiful red rose that he received! It was a really touching detail, giving a rose to another rose~

Also on the 11th, another fan gave a little stuffed toy to Jungkook and he saved it on his pocket :see_no_evil: This is actually so cute it melts my heart!

I can not hold my smile whenever I see them holding the banners, I just can't. It was a very beautiful project that they saw and loved. I just "AGHSAGSHAGS" of happiness.

More seriously, I think it's cute he considers this cute because he will remember the project and the concert but it so embarrassing :joy: I'm happy it happened tho.

On November 18, 2016, a trailer was posted onto Big Hit's YouTube channel announcing the first two Seoul dates at Gocheok Sky Dome. [1] Later, six shows across South America and the United States were confirmed.

On July 27, 2017, the group announced a series of finale concerts, titled BTS Live Trilogy Episode III: The Wings Tour The Final , at Gocheok Sky Dome. [2] In September, additional dates at Kyocera Dome in Japan were announced. [3]
