With the Arabian Sea on the west and a vast network of lakes, lagoons and fresh water rivers crisscrossing it, Alappuzha is a district of immense and natural beauty. Referred to as the Venice of the east by travellers from across the world, this backwater country is also home to diverse animal and bird life. By virtue of its proximity to the sea, the town has always enjoyed a unique place in the maritime history of Kerala.Today Alappuzha has grown in importance as a backwater tourist centre, attracting several thousands of tourists each year. Alappuzha is also famous for its boat races, houseboat holidays, beaches, marine products, and coir industry. A singular characteristic of this land is a region called Kuttanad. A land of lush paddy fields, Kuttanad is also called the Rice Bowl of Kerala and is one of the few places in the world where farming is done below sea level.

Tremendously well-known for its beautiful backwaters, the city of Alleppey in Kerala is also identified for its beaches, temples and customary boat races. This admired tourist destination also has several very well reputed Ayurvedic spas and wellness centers.

Dotting the shoreline of the Arabian Sea, Alleppey (also known as Alappuzha) is the oldest intended backwater town of Kerala. This place is famed for its numerous rivers crisscrossing the Sea and is home to lots of canals, beaches, backwaters and lagoons. Alleppey is frequently referred to as the Venice of India. The backwaters joined with houseboats and the tropical village life makes Alleppey to make a visit.

Due to its proximity to the sea, the weather of Alappuzha is humid and hot throughout the summer, although it remains quite cool and pleasant during the months of October and November. The standard monthly temperature is 27C. The district gets the advantage of two seasonal monsoons, as in other division of the state. Alappuzha town have a long monsoon season with deep showers as both the Southwest monsoon and Northeast monsoon influence the weather of Alappuzha. The South-west monsoon changes the climate in the months from June to September. The average rainfall received by the region is 2763 mm.

Day 01 cochin arrival - munnar (140 kms / 04 hrs).

Arrival at Cochin Airport / Railway Station and transfer to Munnar. This beautiful hill station was once the summer capital of the British Government in India. The never ending vast expanse of tea plantations and the round the year moderate climate makes it a little haven for visitors. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at Munnar.

Day 02 Munnar - Sightseeing

After Breakfast Sightseeing Rose Garden, Photo Point, Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point and the Kundala Lake & Top Station. Boating facilities are available at Mattupetty Dam and Kundala Lake.

Optional Activities at Munnar : Motor Boat or Speed Boat Ride at Mattupetty Dam, Elephant Safari, Trekking, Ayurveda Massage etc. Overnight stay in Hotel at Munnar.

Day 03 Munnar - Alleppey (180 Kms/ 05 Hrs Journey)

After breakfast, checkout from the hotel and proceed drive to Alleppey. Afternoon check in to the houseboat in Alleppey by noon for cruising through the legendary backwaters of Kerala. On the way, you will witness a full range of lives and activities and some mind boggling sceneries. Overnight in the houseboat. Day 04 Alleppey - Cochin (60 Kms/ 1 Hr 30 Mins) & Departure

For domestic tours, you need to present an Aadhar Card and PAN, and for international tours, you need to present a valid Passport and PAN.

What if the primary hotel mentioned in the email is unavailable?

We will provide the same hotel listed in the email 99.9% of the time. If the listed hotel is not available, we will inform you as soon as possible and provide you with options for the next available similar hotels. You can choose the hotel, and we will stay in the same one.

Tamizhan Trails only book Air Tickets?

Yes. Tamizhan Trails does book air tickets for travellers after they pay in full and confirm the airfare, flight, and itinerary. Our service charge for the standalone service of air ticket booking is INR 250/- per person per domestic ticket and INR 500/- per person per international ticket.

What are the different payment modes for booking a tour?

Tamizhan Trails accepts payments through a number of different methods. UPI (GPay / PhonePe / PayTM / BHIM or Any UPI ID), Cash, Bank Transfers (IMPS / NEFT / RTGS), Credit & Debit Cards, Cheques, and Demand Draft are all acceptable forms of payment. All payments should be in the name of “Tamizhan Trails India Private Limited” only. Cash payment in INR will be accepted as per Government of India guidelines along with PAN. Outstation cheques are not accepted. On payments made through an online payment gateway using Credit Card, EMI, Debit Card and Wallet payments, a convenience fee of 2% of the transaction amount is levied as bank payment gateway charges.

What documents should I carry on my tour?

All guests on domestic tours in India must carry an air ticket, insurance (if applicable), and photo identification in the form of an Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, Driving Licence, and College / School ID for students. For international tours, all guests, including children and infants, must have a Passport valid for at least Six months from the tour return date, as well as any necessary Visas, air tickets, and Insurance copies.

What is the tour cancellation policy?

If you cancel a tour or service for any reason, cancellation charges will be charged in accordance with Tamizhan Trails’ Cancellation Policy , which is detailed in the Terms & Conditions. More information can be found at http://tamizhantrails.com/terms-and-conditions .

How long does it take for a refund to be processed?

The applicable refund will be processed within 7 to 10 working days of confirmation of the cancellation, according to the Cancellation and Refund Policy. According to Govt. regulations, any applicable refund from Tamizhan Trails for both Domestic and International tours will be paid by A/C payee Cheque/ NEFT/RTGS in Indian Rupees only, regardless of whether you paid for the tour in full or in part.

Our family vacation in Kerala was fully organized by your company. Train journey from Delhi to Ernkulam was long and boring. After reaching the railway station it took more than 5 minutes to find the cab. The Hotel in Thekkady no hot water was provided in the evening. The Alleppey Boat House Cathey Pacific is the worst one. Without checking you have booked. No TV in working condition, Bathrooms were in bad shape, they brought us to a short distance and back so soon at 8 am. These should be taken care before booking. Food in the boat house was not an appreciable one. Ok we can say. One double room payment in Thekkady was excessively paid without availing because 2 persons absent in our trip. Take these as our feed back. The climate in Thekkady was very good and enjoyed a lot.

The 3 sea tours had done a good job in arranging the entire trip. Guests pickup and drop was also given and it was good. The driver was very humble and very cooperative while travelling. The arrangement in house boat was excellent. It was my first experience in house boat and was very memorable. The elephant safari on the way to Munnar was very good. The stay in Munnar in Ayur green resort was also good though it was very far from the town. Just a few suggestions based on my experiences 1. Innova would be best suitable for 3+2 passenger. 2. Clear instructions to be given on any place where certain networks are not available like in the Mattupetty Dam area only BSNL network works. 3. Clear instructions on house boat regarding life jackets like the way it is explained in airplane.

Went on a Munnar Allepey Trip with them. The arrangements were very nicely done with each detail minutely taken care of. The cab provided was good and also the hotel. However the hotel in allepey Pagoda Resorts was pathetic in terms of room service.The rooms were good but room service was not good at all. Hence try and change the resort in allepey if offered Pagoda.

Everything was perfect from travel agent side. The cab driver assigned Suresh was very professional and helped us a lot. The only downside of the entire trip was the houseboat. We had booked 3 sharing rooms, we had to beg houseboat guy for an extra bed. The rooms were too small and cramped for a bed to fit as well. Food was limited for 9 members and we had to buy something in between and asked them to cook. They asked us to vacate the hall area while we were watching a movie and playing at 10, saying they need to sleep. People come to enjoy without restrictions and this was very bad on that part. Afternoon visit to Rajamalai Sanctuary & Tata Tea Museum. Overnight at Munnar.

Munnar : After breakfast, sightseeing of Munnar: Mattupetty Dam/Kundala dam for boating, Eco point. Evening at leisure. Overnight at Munnar.

Munnar – Alleppey : After breakfast, Checkout from the hotel and proceed to Alleppey which has an immense natural beauty, also known as the “Venice of the East”. It is famous for the backwaters, boat races, houseboat holidays, beaches, marine products and coir products. Check into your Houseboat and enjoy the cruise through the backwaters of Alleppey. Overnight stay at the houseboat.
