The Process

Travellers are required to complete the online Immigration and Customs Form which will be available 72 hours prior to your arrival. Fill in the form at a time and place convenient for you. Once the form is completed, the Immigration and Customs receipts should be saved to your mobile device or printed, for presentation to Immigration and Customs upon arrival.

Using the Online ED Form will enhance your travel experience by providing you with an easy and convenient option, that will improve the ease with which you transit through the airport.

Student Visa

• Certificate of Eligibility for Non-Immigrant Student Status - Form H-1
• Certificate by Non-Immigrant Student - Form H-2

Entry requirements

This advice reflects the UK government’s understanding of current rules for people travelling on a full ‘British citizen’ passport from the UK , for the most common types of travel.

The authorities in Barbados set and enforce entry rules. If you’re not sure how these requirements apply to you, contact the Barbados High Commission in the UK .

COVID-19 rules

Countries may restrict travel or bring in rules at short notice. Check with your travel company or airline for changes.

If you test positive for COVID-19, you may need to stay where you are until you test negative. You may also need to get treatment there.

Travel to Barbados

All COVID-19 travel restrictions and testing requirements for UK travellers have been lifted.

Passport validity requirements

Your passport should be valid for the proposed length of your stay.

Immigration and customs form

All travellers must complete the online immigration and customs form , 72 hours before arrival.

Visa requirements

British passport holders do not need a visa.

You will be told how long you can stay when you arrive. You must apply and pay for an extension of stay through the Barbados Immigration Department .

It’s illegal to overstay the entry period or to work without a work permit . You could be fined or detained if you overstay.

Children and young people

Visit the Barbados Immigration Department website for guidance on the rules for travelling to Barbados with children and young people .

Transiting through Barbados

Transiting through Barbados is allowed for travellers from the UK .

Departure tax

All passengers aged 2 years and older must pay a departure tax of 55 Barbados dollars (27.50 US dollars). Passengers travelling outside the Caribbean region pay an additional 70 US dollars per person, and those travelling within the Caribbean pay an additional 20 US dollars per person.

Most airlines include the cost within the ticket price. Check details with your airline or tour operator.

Vaccination requirements

At least 8 weeks before your trip, check the vaccinations and certificates you need in TravelHealthPro’s Barbados guide.

Depending on your circumstances, these may include a yellow fever certificate.

Customs rules

There are strict rules about goods that can be brought into and taken out of Barbados . You must declare anything that may be prohibited or subject to tax or duty.

Updated travel protocols to take effect August 5

Determination of risk is achieved by using World Health Organisation 7-day totals. A traveller’s risk category will be determined by the highest risk level associated with any country that they have travelled to or transited through within 21 days prior to travel to Barbados. Additionally, the assessment takes into consideration other factors that may influence the accuracy of the risk classification such as the adequacy of testing in the source country.

I completed the form this morning using myself as primary traveller and my husband as traveller number 2. He has a separate QR Code and travel code number on his Immigration Form, but only I was sent the Customs form with both of our names shown and total pcs of luggage we are bringing.

Does that sound right?

Hi Barbara, yes each passenger will have their own page with a QR Code, and last page will list all passengers and the total number of luggage. Print all your forms, Enjoy your trip. We had fabulous weather

I showed the different QR code on BIMsafe that is generated when you link your travel code to the app, so that meant all I had to show was my passport and PCR cert to the MOH staff who are the first officials you meet.

The travel codes you show to immigration along with your passport and that’s it!

I only travelled with carryon and booked fast track and LITERALLY from stepping off the plane was outside of arrivals in 13 mins. (Yes I timed it out of interest 🤣)

Barbara, you will receive one immigration form per passenger, in your case 2 passengers = 2 immigration forms & 2 separate travel codes & one joint form for customs.

Yes there are kiosks in the arrivals hall.

Craig if you are using an iPhone or any apple product, you need to use chrome or Firefox. The new web form doesn’t like safari 🤷‍♀️.

Also seems to be dicky (technical phrase) if you have a hotmail email address.

You can complete the form on arrival at the airport. There are terminals there and staff to help.

Craig, I completed the online E & D form last Sunday . The submission was showing as a sucess but the email with the QR

didn't arrive until 24 hrs after the completion, in the meantime I completed another online form & that one came back to me 30hrs after a successfully submission.

I was able to complete the form using the Chrome browser on my daughter’s Apple MacBook laptop. It arrived in about 5-10 minutes. I was not able to complete it on the Chrome browser on my iPhone 13.
