Next up, Citi cardmembers can take part in a presale on Feb. 3 at 10 AM local time. This presale includes all dates except for Aug. 29-31; the Citi presale for these dates is set for Feb. 17 at 10 AM local time.

Finally, all remaining tickets for shows aside from Aug. 29-31 go on sale to the public at Feb. 7. The Aug. 29-31 shows go on sale to the public on Feb. 21 at 10 AM (PT).

“I was talking to (drummer) Carter (Beauford) about how much I still like just sitting around playing music together,” Matthews says via press release. “It’s how we started – in the basements of Carter’s and my mom’s houses. Our shows are loose, but we started thinking that maybe this summer we should make them looser and bring some of that feeling to the stage. It seems like the opposite of a safe plan, so why not?”   “Everyone was really psyched about the idea, so we’ve been busy figuring out how to turn it into the best possible experience for our fans,” adds Beauford.

Trending on Billboard

Last summer, DMB’s 22-week tour grossed $40 million with more than 712,000 tickets sold for 47 performances.

The band is expected to release a new studio album later this year, helmed by producer Rob Cavallo, who worked 2009’s “Big Whiskey & the GrooGrux King.” When their last studio set, 2012’s Away From The World, debuted atop the Billboard 200, the Dave Matthews Band became the first group to have six consecutive albums start at No. 1.

Dave Matthews Band 2014 Summer Tour Announced

dave matthews band 2014 tour

Dave Matthews Band  has announced a rather extensive summer tour for 2014, with 42 dates across the nation. Only, these shows aren’t your typical Dave  shows.

Billed as “A Very Special Evening with Dave Matthews Band,” each show will include a full set from Dave Matthews Band, followed by an acoustic performance with guitarists  Dave Matthews  and  Tim Reynolds . It’s an idea geared towards intimacy, which Matthews explained in the following statement:

“I was talking to [drummer Carter Beauford] about how much I still like just sitting around playing music together. It’s how we started – in the basements of Carter’s and my mom’s houses. Our shows are loose, but we started thinking that maybe this summer we should make them looser and bring some of that feeling to the stage. It seems like the opposite of a safe plan, so why not?”

Dave Matthews Band has also mentioned that several special guests will be joining them on tour, including a three-day  Dave Matthews Band Caravan  at  The Gorge  in George, Washington. The Caravan stage will feature exclusive performances from guest artists, giving the whole scene a festival-y vibe. Tickets go on sale on February 7th. What to know about the Dave Matthews Band shows at Alpine Valley

Dave Matthews Band will make one of its many visits to the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy for two shows, Friday and Saturday nights.

Here's what to know about the concerts:

When are the Dave Matthews Band concerts at Alpine Valley?

Get daily updates on the Packers during the season.

Both shows begin at 7 p.m. and feature an opening act. On Friday, Katie Pruitt will open; on Saturday, it'll be Michael Marcagi.

Where is Alpine Valley?

The music theatre's address is 2699 County Road D in East Troy, nestled between Elkhorn and East Troy.

The amphitheater can host up to 37,000 fans, with 7,500 in the sheltered seating area and a large lawn area accommodating the rest.

The venue has hosted a series of iconic shows during its nearly 50 years of operation, though it did go dark for the 2017 season and was sold to a publicly held company in 2019.

Its rotating cast of regulars have included acts catering to the "jam band" crowd, including DMB, Phish, the Zac Brown Band, Dead & Company and Jimmy Buffett.

Can I get tickets for the Dave Matthews Band concerts at Alpine Valley?

You can still get tickets to see Dave Matthews Band, with ample offerings starting at $68 for a lawn seat through the Live Nation ticket portal . You can also buy a two-day lawn pass for $111.75 before fees.

When was the last time Dave Matthews Band was in Milwaukee?

The band regularly visits the area, most recently last summer (June 29, 2023) at Summerfest, but it routinely makes trips to Alpine Valley. Setlist.fm indicates DMB has played 37 shows at the venue, dating to 1998.

The band last came to Alpine Valley July 2 and 3, 2022, and also played two shows at Alpine Valley in 2019, 2016, 2015, 2013, 2012 and every year from 2002 to 2010. Plus twice more in 2000 and 1999, when the band played both Summerfest and Alpine Valley. DMB also came to Summerfest in 2021, 2018 and 2014.

Saturday might be the biggest Milwaukee music day ever

The band's shows will play Friday, June 21 and Saturday, June 22, playing concurrently with Summerfest on Milwaukee's lakefront. But that's not all; on Saturday, Kenny Chesney and Zac Brown Band will play at American Family Field , and the Tacos and Tequila Festival will take place in Franklin.

It has an argument for the biggest Milwaukee live-music day … ever.

Expect traffic jams at Alpine Valley for the Dave Matthews Band concerts

Isolated in the rolling hills of East Troy, Alpine Valley is a special place to see a show. It also has a reputation for bad traffic. The drive for the last two miles into the Alpine lots can last a full hour before a sold-out show.

On the bright side, parking is free.

Consider bringing some rain gear to the Dave Matthews Band concerts at Alpine Valley

According to the National Weather Service, the East Troy area has a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms Friday, mainly before 9 p.m. On Saturday, there's a 90% chance of rain and more opportunity for afternoon thunderstorms.

Dave Matthews Band create a spiritual experience in first of two Ruoff Music Center shows

dave matthews band 2014 tour

As a self-proclaimed pop-culture junkie and fan of what I think is a pretty diverse range of music, I’m ashamed to admit how little familiarity I have with jam bands.

I’m not sure I can name a single song by The Grateful Dead , I have only some idea of what Phish might sound like, and going into Friday night’s show at Ruoff Music Center, I knew exactly one song by Dave Matthews Band .

I’m not sipping Haterade and telling you I’m too good for this kind of music. It’s a genuine cultural blind spot. It’s OK — I’m disappointed in me, too.

But, in talking to the people in my life who love Dave Matthews Band, it became quickly clear to me that I should be thankful to be experiencing my first of his shows on the first night of Creekend — his annual stop at the Noblesville amphitheater formerly known as Deer Creek .

August Indianapolis concerts: Phish will return to Ruoff Music Center for a 3-show summer weekend. How to get tickets

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

And it was a sight to behold. They played for three hours straight, jamming through 20-plus songs and communing with the crowd in a way I've yet to see at a concert this year.

As a Creekend first-timer, it was definitely an unforgettable experience. Here are five things that defined my first Dave Matthews Band concert.

The crowd at Ruoff Music Center reminded me why live music is a spiritual experience

Yes, Matthews and his band were great, and I'll get to that in a minute, but Friday night's show was, for me, about the fans. In looking around me in the pavilion and out across the lawn, it's hard to believe this show wasn't billed as a sellout.

The band hit the stage around 7:45 p.m. and were greeted by waves of applause and cascading cheers that lasted several minutes. As the opening song — 2002's "Grey Street" — started, the woman next to me turned and pointed to her arm: "I got goosebumps!"

There's a moment near the end of that song in which Matthews lets out a guttural "yeah," and the crowd went there with him, the first example of the evening's exuberance.

Live music, no matter the genre or venue, is a beautiful convener of people from all walks of life. People who may not have much in common outside the walls of a performance space, but for a few hours they can come together over their shared love of art. Artists and their fans create a sacred space for each other, interrupting all the outside noise and negativity to share in something that can be extremely cathartic, joyful, rejuvenating. In those moments, nothing matters except the music.

By the end of the first song, I had goosebumps, too.

Jam bands can make you lose track of space and time

Captain Obvious reporting for duty. But please be patient, it's my first time.

And by the end of the third song, "The Idea of You," felt like your average three- to four-minute song, compared to the two songs that spanned the previous 25 or so minutes, but as it wrapped, I found myself thinking, "Wait... that's it?!"

The fans love Dave Matthews — and they love Deer Creek Music Center

Despite my general lack of familiarity with his music, I respect the hell out of any artist who earns the kind of following that Dave has throughout the years.

I’ve been lurking in a DMB Facebook group with thousands of fans excited for Creekend 2024 over the last few weeks, and it’s been delightful to watch the community that’s developed around him. The creativity exhibited in their fan-made merch, the kindness they show when sharing tips and trips for navigating the area of finding lodging, the camaraderie forged among once-strangers.

Retro Indy: Deer Creek Music Center, now Ruoff, turns 35. See its first lineup (and those ticket prices!)

Not only that, but it seemed that every person around me had an encyclopedic knowledge of the Dave Matthews Band catalog. There were hardly any special effects or staging — just the band and their instruments — and the transition from one song to the next can sometimes result in an awkward pause as the musicians reset. And for a band like this, known for ever-changing setlists and new approaches to old standards, those transition times can create quite a bit of anticipation. Any gaps that existed were filled by the general buzz of the crowd. Fans were either decompressing from the jam they just heard, or trying to guess what was coming next based on a familiar stray note that might be part of a specific guitar lick. These people have PhDs in Creekend calculus.

The musicianship is stellar

Three decades since their major label debut, "Under the Table and Dreaming," I'm not sure how much rehearsal time these guys take for a tour, nor am I positive it would do them any good — they like to change things up, and it's clear the fans love it, too.

These guys are clearly so in tune with one another, and I'm not just talking about their instruments. I mean emotionally, spiritually, mentally. They're also great performers and they know how to create music that moves together and moves people. From the keys and guitars to the drums, trumpet and saxophone (and flute!), it was all top-tier.

I am tired on Dave Matthews' behalf

What he's doing is not easy.

Three hours of singing, yelling, some light wiggling and a single jump may not sound like much, but bear in mind it was 88 degrees outside and quite humid when he took the stage. And he's doing that twice in Indianapolis and has been all over the Midwest with it in the last few weeks. The quality of his voice is fantastic for someone who's pushing his vocal instrument as hard as he is nearly nightly. But for as physically exhausted as I'm sure he was, Matthews' stage presence is delightful. He's a charismatic performer who clearly loves what he's doing.

There was one thing that surprised me, and I mean this more as a neutral comment than a criticism of his stage presence: For as much of a relationship as the fans seem to have with Matthews as a frontman and as an artist, he spent very little time talking to the audience. Apart from saying hello to the crowd and thanking everyone for coming, the first time he said anything substantive to the audience was about an hour and a half into the set, introducing "Black and Blue Bird." While there was plenty of interaction between Matthews and his audience when it came to singing together Friday evening, I'm not sure I've ever been to a concert with as little onstage chatter as Friday night's show.

His ecstatic dancing when he shed his guitar for a rousing cover of Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer" made up for it, in my humble opinion.

FORMER Dave Matthews Band member Boyd Tinsley has been arrested, The U.S. Sun can confirm.

Police have revealed that they brought in the violinist after he caused a major accident.

Former Dave Matthews Band member Boyd Tinsley was arrested on Monday

On Monday, law enforcement told TMZ that they first responded to a car crash involving two vehicles – Boyd's Escalade and a Corvette.

The musician was arrested after he was suspected of driving under the influence.

The news outlet obtained a video of what happened.

Sources who witnessed the situation said that Boyd allegedly hit a Corvette with his Escalade.

When the two drivers stopped to look at the damage caused by the accident, the other driver called the police due to the way Boyd was allegedly acting.

Records obtained by The U.S. Sun say that Boyd was taken in around 9:30 pm and was released an hour later after posting bail.

BOYD'S PAST

Back in 2018, Boyd was sued for allegedly sexually harassing a man named James Winn when he was 18 years old, according to TMZ .

James explained in the lawsuit that he was a street musician when he met Boyd in 2007.

Timeline of Boyd Tinsely's Time in Dave Matthew's Band

Boyd Tinsely was arrested on Monday for a suspected DUI. Police were called to the scene of a two-vehicle accident involving Boyd's Escalade and a Corvette. Upon observing his behavior at the scene, the violinist was handcuffed and taken into custody. He has had a long history of legal woes. Here's a look at Boyd's time in the popular band.

  • Boyd Tinsley joined Dave Matthew's Band in 1992
  • He was featured on every Dave Matthew's Band album from 1994's Under the Table and Dreaming to 2018's Come Tomorrow
  • Boyd was among the first person to share song-writing credits with Dave Matthews
  • He was also the first to call the band Dave Matthews Band
  • Boyd has more than 15 co-song-writing credits as a member of Dave Matthews Band
  • In 2014, he struggled through the band's Australian tour
  • He revealed after the fact that he developed arthritis in his right hand
  • Boyd announced that he was taking a leave of absence from Dave Matthews Band in February 2018
  • In May of that year, the band announced that he was no longer a member

According to Winn's lawsuit, Boyd purchased five tickets to a sporting event for Winn.

In response, Winn said that Boyd told him, "Man, you better suck my d**k or something."

He cited another instance that same year, claiming they had been working on music in Boyd's living room when they both got tired.

Winn claimed that Boyd started touching him on the leg, putting his feet on his butt and rubbing his back.

However, in a statement through his lawyer at the time, Boyd denied all the allegations.

“I only wish the reporter had spoken to me first, so they would have heard the truth," he said.

"I will defend myself against these false accusations. … I will fight both in and out of court to repair the damage that has been done.”

They reached an out-of-court settlement in 2019, according to TMZ.

After the allegations became public, Dave Matthew's Band announced that Boyd was no longer a member.

“Though Boyd is no longer a member of the band, we are shocked by these disturbing allegations and we were not previously aware of them," a statement from a Dave Matthews Band rep told People at the time.

MORE LEGAL WOES

In February 2024, Boyd was sued again – this time for breaching the terms of a 2019 settlement stemming from the sexual harassment lawsuit, Rolling Stone reported.

According to the outlet, the two parties involved agreed to a $837,000 settlement payment to Winn.

Under the terms of the agreement, there was a "mutual non-disparagement" clause that prevented both parties from discussing the matter publicly.

In the newest lawsuit, Winn's lawyers claimed that Boyd breached that clause on February 22, 2022, with a series of social media posts.

"The accusation is a total lie," Boyd wrote on social media, screengrabs submitted as evidence and obtained by Rolling Stone claimed.

"There is a pattern of me being victimized by mentally unstable and money-grabbing people. This latest individual that I am speaking of concocted this incredulous story of sexual harassment, which is a complete and total lie."

Boyd did not mention his accuser by name but wrote in his post that they were "a very troubled and disturbed person."

He added that "he had a field day spending my money... music went out the window and it was all about getting drunk and playing pinball."

The Unique Burial of a Child of Early Scythian Time at the Cemetery of Saryg-Bulun (Tuva)

<< Previous page

Pages:  379-406

In 1988, the Tuvan Archaeological Expedition (led by M. E. Kilunovskaya and V. A. Semenov) discovered a unique burial of the early Iron Age at Saryg-Bulun in Central Tuva. There are two burial mounds of the Aldy-Bel culture dated by 7th century BC. Within the barrows, which adjoined one another, forming a figure-of-eight, there were discovered 7 burials, from which a representative collection of artifacts was recovered. Burial 5 was the most unique, it was found in a coffin made of a larch trunk, with a tightly closed lid. Due to the preservative properties of larch and lack of air access, the coffin contained a well-preserved mummy of a child with an accompanying set of grave goods. The interred individual retained the skin on his face and had a leather headdress painted with red pigment and a coat, sewn from jerboa fur. The coat was belted with a leather belt with bronze ornaments and buckles. Besides that, a leather quiver with arrows with the shafts decorated with painted ornaments, fully preserved battle pick and a bow were buried in the coffin. Unexpectedly, the full-genomic analysis, showed that the individual was female. This fact opens a new aspect in the study of the social history of the Scythian society and perhaps brings us back to the myth of the Amazons, discussed by Herodotus. Of course, this discovery is unique in its preservation for the Scythian culture of Tuva and requires careful study and conservation.
