We had a powered site alongside the river. It was peaceful and so quiet most of the time we felt like we were on our own. The park doesn’t have a lot of decorative features but the amenities are clean, the laundry has enough washing machines and dryers, and the reception person was very friendly. I would certainly stay here again, as it is fairly close to the centre of the town but yet very quiet (did hear a small plane briefly but that was around 6pm and it wasn’t for long)

Glorious location overlooking the beautiful River. Quiet. As new cabin with balcony and very well appointed. They are really putting in extra effort and kitchen equipment to make this accommodation comfortable and enjoyable. And the price was surprisingly good. We just walked in without making a booking. PS Photo taken from the balcony.

dawson river tourist park reviews

Basic park but great location right on the river with large sites. Rates are very reasonable considering the size of the sites. The staff are very friendly and always willing to help. Nice clean amenities and even though park was packed for Easter never had to wait. Just had our second stay there for Easter long weekend and will defineately be back.

Arrived late A little difficult to find cabin Cabin was new, spotless and totally adequate Good shower, kitchenette and bed In the morning, found excellent kids play gym Good size pool Great view over Manning River Park was really quiet and we had a great sleep without any road noise

We stayed here on our way home from up North. It is not far from the Highway but far enough to be a quiet location. This time we had a waterfront site which was very nice. The amenities are good and clean. Very reasonable prices and helpful staff.

The place ticks all the boxes and more! The caravan park is right on the river with beautifully kept large grassy areas, large shade trees and water views from every angle. It has its own jetty; you could keep your boat in the water overnight in readiness for fishing early next morning. The Manning is only a few minutes away. It also has a beautiful playground for the kids. The playground is situated away from the camping sites so you only get to hear the happy voices when you actually go past it to the office. Although it was nearly a peak season when we visited, the whole place still remained peaceful and unhurried on account of its large park-like grounds. The usual amenities are very clean and the hot water showers run like we've never seen before. The bridge referred to in the earlier review is some distance at the far end of the caravan park and we could not hear any noise at all. In fact, I fished under/near the bridge and was not fussed at all with there being only minimal traffic going into Taree during the day now that the bypass is open and virtually no traffic at night. However, the best part was the assistance we received from the management when our car, just out of warranty, broke down a few days before Christmas. Without being asked for help, they helped to organise a mechanic. They also offered to stow our boat gear and the boat pending the repairs which allowed us to continue on our trip to QLD by air. Thank you Karen and Mark for saving our long-awaited holidays!!! Hugely appreciated!

  • Cleanliness

The website is deceiving. The photo of folks sitting by the river looks inviting but fails to show the bridge with traffic noise. That we could tolerate but work involving jackhammering from 7pm until 11pm is unbearable. So loud !!!!!!! No wifi, poor facilities. Do not stay here ATM Call first to enquire if the bridge work is completed. We are in our caravan so its as if we are blasted out of the van from the noise.

A wonderful clean park with very nice owner who bent over backwards for clients. I can’t sing enough praises. Unfortunately it rained but we coped. We were lucky enough to have a mother Cormorant with chicks nearby and lots of water dragons.

Stayed in this hidden gem for almost a month. Super friendly staff, comfortable cabins, everything you need in the kitchen, beautiful river views, perfect for relaxing after work or as a stopover. Highly recommend this location and will definitely visit again for holidays.

We recently stayed here 2 adult 2 kids. Beautiful location and Diane in the office was lovely, but expected more of the 2 bedroom cabin when paying $165 a night! BBQ was so filthy dirty, rubbish was stuffed under beds and glasses and mugs in kitchen were greasy.

Stopped here by accident as we were heading north and needed somewhere to stay’ I’m guessing caravan parks are really a matter of taste. This is old school caravan park on a beautiful river. It has a playground for the kids a swimming pool very nice owners.large caravan sites and clean toilets. If you want a big 4 tourist site this is not the place . If you want peace and quite and a relaxing stay with lizards running around camped on a river bank this is it.I will stay here again
