Informational Guide to Lisbon Airport (LIS) Humberto Delgado

Lisbon Airport Lounges

All You Need To Know About Lisbon Airport Lounges

Humberto Delgado Airport, also known as Lisbon Airport , is perhaps the primary location that people use when traveling to and from Portugal’s capital city of Lisbon for vacations. It’s only about 6 miles (or roughly 9.6 kilometers) from downtown, and the airport both direct and indirect connections through dozens of airlines to countries across Europe and around the world.

If you are flying home via Lisbon Airport after your Portuguese vacation, you might want to allocate some extra time at the airport so that you can enjoy some of its lounges. For a fee, these specified areas provide travelers with additional comforts including more space to relax, complementary food and drink, newspapers, and other perks before your flight.

If you have had a very long weekend, or if you simply would like to have a stress-free start to your return journey home, a Lisbon Airport lounge can help you achieve that goal. Below you’ll find important information on the several lounges that are available to passengers at the airport, including the services they provide and addition details to help you plan your lounge visit.

You’ll find this lounge situated after you clear Terminal 1 security before your flight, and it’s located on floor six of the building, open from 5am to 11pm every day of the week.

If you download the ANA travel app on your smartphone you can make reservations for the lounge via the app, as well as track your flight’s status in real time, and more.

The amenities on offer at the ANA Lounge include:

  • Hot and cold drinks
  • Complementary snacks
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Televisions
  • Air conditioning
  • Newspapers and other reading material
  • Internet-connected computers

Information on flight arrivals and departures

  • Dedicated smoking area

The cost for a one-time entry to the ANA Lounge is currently €29 from March to November, which is considered to be the busy high season, and €25 for December to February, which is considered to be the low quiet season. You don’t have to pay any entry fee for children aged under three, but children from the ages of three to 12 must pay an entry fee of €15.

Use of the lounge is time-limited and you can only stay there for a maximum of three hours, so be sure to plan your arrival to the airport early enough to fully enjoy all of the lounge’s benefits.

The ANA Lounge requires a smart casual dress code, so you might want to ensure that you and your traveling companions are dressed appropriately before arriving at the lounge.

If you would like to use the showers at the lounge, you need to pay €15.50 for toiletries and a towel, or you can buy lounge entry and shower usage for a combined fee of €32.50.

Blue Lounge

The other lounge open to all passengers using Lisbon Airport is the Blue Lounge, located on floor six of Terminal 1, also after security, close to the area between Gate 7 and Gate 13.

You can access the Blue Lounge every day from 5am to 11pm.

The amenities on offer at the Blue Lounge include:

The cost for using the Blue Lounge is currently €25 per passenger, although you can reduce this fee by €5 if you book your reservation for the lounge at least 48 hours before your flight. If you have any children aged under 12 then they are able to use the lounge for free.

Airport Business Center

Some people travel to Portugal for both work and vacation, or solely for work trips, and therefore they might need to use conference rooms and other business facilities during their stay. Thankfully, Lisbon Airport provides the Airport Business Center for just this purpose.

Located in the Terminal 1 building on the mezzanine floor, the business center is near the area between Gate 14 and Gate 36, and is open from 9am to 5pm every Monday to Friday.

  • Conference rooms
  • Fax machines
  • Magazines and newspapers
  • Entry to the business center costs €25 per person and you pay the fee at the airport.

TAP Premier Lounge

The fourth and final lounge at Lisbon Airport is not available to all passengers, because the TAP Premier Lounge is only for those people who are departing on TAP Air Portugal. This is the state-owned airline of Portugal and operates many flights in and out of Lisbon Airport.

You’ll find this lounge on floor six of Terminal 1, nearby to the location of the ANA Lounge. It’s open from 5am to midnight every day, and is free for certain passengers flying with TAP Air Portugal, while other TAP Air Portugal travelers are able to pay for one-time access.

The amenities on offer at the TAP Premier Lounge include:

Consider a Priority Pass to save money on airport lounges

Note that in addition to paying at the airport for one-time access to a particular lounge, you might also want to consider buying a Priority Pass if you are a frequent traveler. The Priority Pass gives you three different types of membership that can give you access to airport lounges, including some of the lounges that are on offer to travelers at Lisbon Airport.

The plans are available either as standard, standard plus, or prestige, with varying fees to reflect the services and access that you can expect from the passes. Once you have a pass you can enter designated lounges for either a reduced fee or no charge, depending on the lounge and the type of Priority Pass that you own. But be sure to check before buying a pass whether the lounge that you want to use is covered by a pass.

Review: ANA Lounge (Priority Pass) Lisbon

The ANA Lounge (accessible via Priority Pass or partner airlines) in Lisbon, Portugal had plenty to offer for just about everyone.

Inside the beautiful Terminal 1 at Humberto Delgado Lisbon International Airport, is the ANA Lounge elevated above the shopping level below. To get there, an escalator is available or for those who need or prefer an elevator, one is available in front of the escalator entrance. Terminal 1 is the larger of the two terminals and hosts mostly network carriers. Terminal 2 is predominately an LCC terminal.

For Priority Pass holder, free entry is offered throughout the day though it’s always subject to capacity limitations. In addition to members, the following airlines provide entry for business class customers:

  • Air France/KLM
  • American Airlines
  • Brussels Airlines
  • Royal Air Maroc
  • STP Airways
  • British Airways
  • Priority Pass
  • Dragon Pass

Checkin was really quick and easy at the reception desk. As with any Priority Pass lounge, travelers should have their boarding pass and lounge access card ready. Though it was crowded, my party of five was through pretty quickly.

It should be noted that while the name of the lounge is “ANA”, it’s not associated with All Nippon Airways, the Star Alliance carrier.

When entering the lounge, there are two dining areas to the left divided by a bar. Nearest to the door, a limited selection of cold foods are available as well as coolers with soft drinks and beer. On the other side of the bar (only accessible on the opposite side), another dining room awaits with a larger food selection including soup.

lisbon airport lounge secondary dining

Positoned farthest from the bar and adjacent to the windows, is a selection of soups (one bean and one squash) as well as a selection of teas and cereals.

Moving away from the windows and toward the bar, two separate coolers hold beverages, both with non-alcoholic options, one with beer. Wine is available at either ends of the bar for self-pouring in addition to cocktails.

lisbon airport lounge soft drinks

While the food selection was limited to three different types of sandwiches and a prepared salad. The sandwiches were quite good, even though there was relatively little variety (one vegetarian, one Iberco pork, and one tuna salad.)

lisbon airport lounge sandwiches

While the lounge is large, during our trip at midday it was rather crowded. We were able to find enough seats for three adults, one ten-year-old and our one-year-old in a stroller. Large screens show sports and news on large TVs overhead on walls.

Smoking Lounge

Hats off to the ANA Lounge for offering a smoking lounge that doesn’t leak into the rest of the area. As a reformed smoker, I can appreciate both the availability of such an option, while also wanting to enjoy my lounge visit without smelling like I smoked a pack myself.

The glass box room just behind the reception area and off the rest of the seating area was odorless and while the image I captured didn’t have a smoker in there at the time, there was one prior to me taking the photo and you couldn’t tell that they’d ever lit up.

lisbon airport lounge smoking

The ANA Lounge was easy to access, quick to check-in, the food was quality but choices were limited, and service was great. If traveling back to Lisbon and given the choice of the TAP Lisbon airport lounge as well, I would try that one too just to evaluate them evenly. But that said, I would gladly return to the ANA lounge and unless the food is substantially better at TAP, I can’t imagine the design and service can be beat.

Not sure about the new non=Schengen lounge at LIS but the ANA lounge and the TAP Schengen lounge are both catered from the same kitchen and the offering is remarkably similar. I would say, TAP has the edge.

Please explain further though, what is ‘beautiful’ about Lisbon Airport? It’s an utter dump and most departures and arrivals are by bus. It needs replacing urgently.

' src=

LOL! I thought the ‘beautiful’ comment was somewhat out of place when applied to LIS.

I’ve flown through Terminal 1 twice and will avoid LIS in future, it being way to small. You were INCREDIBLY lucky getting into the non-TAP lounge quickly, as lengthy queues are the norm rather than the exception, based on what I saw on my outbound and return journeys.

' src=

Is this the only ANA lounge that doesn’t grant ANA business class passengers access?!?

' src=

Article writes not associated with actual ANA airline ; likely initials mean something else in Portuguese . Might be something like : Apes Numbats Armadillos .

' src=

Barber appt

ANA is fir Aeroportos e Navegação Aérea

' src=

I was walking around Copacabana this morning and there was a Bolsonaro rally going on. It was loud, confusing, chaotic, and somewhat resembled the Lisbon airport after the bank of Brazil flights land in the morning.

' src=

Did you time this article to honor the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution? Was E Depois do Adeus playing on the radio?

' src=

It’s a bit bizarre that all those Star Alliance members send their passengers to this lounge as opposed to the TAP one next door. Come to think of it, I have only ever flown TAP from LIS so never had to think about that.

' src=

I think this lounge is always crowded, food is ok! Best part of the lounge is no line up for the washroom unlike the public washrooms at LIS. Lisbon airport can get crowded so this lounge feels like oasis.

PS I also didn’t think Lisbon airport was a dump, security is fast, food in the food court is good (tastier than any airport in the US)! Speciality items like olive oil and pasteis de nata packaged for transport for home!

' src=

I guess the US lounges don’t make “tasty” food, Every single lounge and restaurant has been visited by you so you should know. Busy checking out airport food. Really busy…

VIP Lounges

Lisbon Airport is Portugal's main air hub and in 2017 handled over 26 million passengers, so it can be a very busy place, particularly at peak times. While efforts have been made to reduce the queues at the check-in desks with the facilities for mobile and self-service check-in, there can still be a long wait at security screening and passport control.

However, once you arrive at the boarding areas of Terminal 1, you can escape the noise and bustle of the crowds in the shopping area and food courts by booking yourself into the relaxing atmosphere of one of the VIP lounges. Unfortunately, there is no VIP lounge in T2.

The lounges have workstations where you can keep on top of business, comfortable seating on which you can relax while watching television or reading the complimentary newspapers and magazines, and you can take advantage of the inclusive snacks and drinks.

There are two lounges, the ANA Lounge and the Blue Lounge, which are open to all passengers on payment of the entry fee and with free access for passengers holding business class tickets with affiliated airlines, some members of frequent flyer programs and holders of associated lounge club cards.

The ANA Lounge is located after security in T1 at Praça Lisboa (Lisbon Square) on the sixth floor. It has areas in which to work as well as seating areas with panoramic views of the runways. Showers are available for an extra fee.

The opening hours are 05:00 to 23:00 daily. The adult entrance fee is €29.00 in the high season from March to November and €25.00 in the low season from December to February. Entry for children aged three to twelve is €15.00 at all times. Children under three enter free of charge. The entrance can be booked in advance on the airport website or you can pay on entry. Qualifying passengers on affiliated airlines and members of Dragon Pass and Priority Pass get free or discounted entry. The maximum stay is three hours and there is a smart casual dress code.

A shower kit comprising a towel and toiletries costs €15.50. A Combined shower kit and lounge entry is €32.50.

There is a €5.00 discount for making your reservation by email at least two days in advance. Accompanied children under twelve can enter free.

As well as the lounge, there is a fully equipped business centre for up to eight people. There is an additional fee for this facility and it must be reserved in advance.

TAP Premier Lounge

In addition to the public access lounges above, TAP, the Portuguese national carrier, has its own lounge on the sixth floor of T1, close to the ANA Lounge. It is free for qualifying TAP passengers, but other travellers with the airline can purchase access.

The opening hours are 05:00 to midnight and the lounge has similar facilities to the ANA Lounge with the addition of printers and copiers.

Reservations can be made at the TAP ticket desks or on the website www.flytap.com .

Lounge ANA is a business class lounge in Terminal 1 of Lisbon Airport. We visited the lounge in May 2018. Read our review to know how we rated the lounge and what is the easiest way to try the lounge yourself.

Covered in the Article

The location of lounge ana, to whom lounge ana is, peaceful lounge, the easiness of getting in, friendliness of the customer service, overall rating, where to buy an entrance, bottom line.

Lounge ANA is a 900 sqm Schengen area lounge in the Terminal 1 of Lisbon Airport. It serves business class passengers of many airlines and it functions also as a Priority Pass and DragonPass lounge . The lounge is not operated by any airline rather it is being managed by a third-party company. Even though the name may suggest something else, the lounge has nothing to do with the Japanese airline also called ANA.

Lounge ANA is surprisingly easy to find. It is located in the security zone of Terminal 1. In the heart of the shopping area, there are escalators up to the second floor. The front door can be seen right away upon reaching the second floor. It is good to know that the logo of Lounge ANA is unclear and recognizing the text ANA in the logo may be difficult at first sight.

The logo of ANA Lounge

Review of Air Serbia Premium Lounge at Belgrade Airport

The lounge premises are next to the tarmac. It is a perfect place for aviation enthusiasts because there are great views through the big windows. Unfortunately, during warm days, the curtains may be down.

Shopping Court Lisbon Airport Terminal 1

Lounge ANA serves business class and first-class passengers of 22 different airlines. If you are travelling in an elite class your airline will probably invite you to this lounge. Always check your boarding pass to which lounge you have been invited.

The easiest way for economy passengers to get into Lounge ANA is to have Priority Pass or DragonPass membership. Also, Diners Club card holders are welcome to Lounge ANA.

Other customers may pay themselves right at the door and the entrance fee is 29 euros at the time of writing this article.

Lounge ANA is spacious. At the time of our visit, there was plenty of free space and many unoccupied comfortable chairs to relax. The lounge has big windows to the tarmac but because the sun was shining brightly, there were huge curtains lowered to block the sunshine and unluckily the view of the tarmac. So unfortunately spotting planes was not as easy as we had wished.

Windows blinds in ANA Lounge

In addition to catering services, the lounge had the usual business lounge services. There were flight information screens and well-working Wi-Fi. Computers were available for people to whom pure Wi-Fi was not enough. Magazines were offered.

The lounge had natural restrooms and showers. It is good to note that the showers are not free but you have to buy a shower kit costing 15,50 euros. That is somehow uncommon because usually, lounge showers are free. The lounge has also a spa.

For smokers, there is also a smoking room in the lounge.

The lounge is really easy to find in Terminal 1. Just head to the centre of the shopping court and take the escalators up. The entrance waits for you right there. You can get in by Priority Pass, DragonPass, airline invitation or by paying the entrance fee at the cash desk.

The lounge is spacious. The chairs are comfortable. The view is great but during the sunny time, the curtains may be down. The lack of free showers decreased our rating.

ANA Lounge Lisbon

The food and drink selection is the weakest link in the lounge. There is no warm food available but just some snacks like chips, cookies and sandwiches. The drink selection was better including soft drinks, wine, beer, Nespresso coffee and water.

Food table in ANA Lounge Lisbon

The staff were friendly during our visit. There was absolutely nothing to complain about but also nothing to praise.

Lounge ANA is an ordinary business lounge with good quality. It has all the basic services except a free shower. All services were offered with quality.

Business class passengers of 22 airlines are invited to Lounge ANA. Other options to get in are to have Priority Pass or DragonPass memberships or a Diners Club credit card. The entrance can also be bought inexpensively from Lounge Pass or LoungeBuddy services. In other words, there are multiple ways to get into this lounge.

There are many ways to access airport lounges.

  • Infrequent travellers may book lounge visits on Lounge Pass .
  • Frequent travellers may benefit from a lounge membership. Read our Priority Pass review .

You will find more helpful information from our lounge guide .

If you have a long connection time in Lisbon or you arrive at the airport early, visiting Lounge ANA is recommended. The entrance cost is moderately low and you get all the basic services inside. The peaceful atmosphere is a good reason to visit this lounge.

Frequently Asked Questions and Answers

What are people saying about airport lounges in Lisbon, 11?

This is a review for airport lounges in Lisbon, 11:

"During my visit in November 2023, there were way too many people inside. I was only able to grab a stool across from the smoking lounge (also near the bathrooms). I never got to see an open seat in the hour I was there. My visit was in the morning. Coffee is by order. It was not self-serviced. There were small finger foods like sandwiches, which were so dry! I thought I had to wait until noon to get lunch, but they said to please wait until 12:10 PM. I left before then, so I was unable to try the food. Access: free with priority pass."

Sign up and save: Get free parking, dining and other perks with airport rewards programs

I've flown in and out of Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) for over a decade now.

Every time I stepped into the parking garage elevator, I would see a sign for the SDF Rewards Frequent Parker Program, and every time I stepped out, I promptly forgot about it.

The signs were everywhere, and I eventually realized I was likely missing out by ignoring them — it took five minutes to sign up for the SDF Rewards program. A few days later, I received a transponder that monitors how frequently I park at the airport. After six trips, I earned enough points to park for free during a weekend trip to New York.

Related: Don't miss out: Get perks just for signing up with these loyalty programs

I am signed up for several free loyalty programs, from McDonald's to Marriott. If I'm being honest, I get just as excited to earn a free Diet Coke as a free hotel night. So why not add free airport parking to the mix?

However, SDF isn't the only airport with a loyalty rewards program; several airports worldwide offer programs where you can earn free parking, meals, lounge access and other rewards. The programs are free to join, so sign up and start earning today.

What are airport loyalty rewards programs?

Much like hotel loyalty and frequent flyer programs, airport loyalty programs reward frequent customers. The more often you visit a participating airport, the more rewards you can potentially earn. It's a win-win situation for both airports and travelers: The programs encourage patrons to spend more time and money in airports, and travelers have the opportunity to rack up freebies and discounts.

Several major and regional airports participate in these free frequent traveler programs, and you aren't limited to solely signing up for your home airport's program — If you regularly transit through any other airports, consider signing up for their loyalty programs as well.

What can you earn with airport loyalty rewards programs?

Airport loyalty programs reward travelers with points based on how much money they spend on things such as parking, food and merchandise. You can then use those points on things like:

  • Free parking
  • Airline miles
  • Lounge access

Keep in mind that each airport loyalty program works differently, though; some get pretty creative with their rewards.

For example, the Fly Lafayette Club at Lafayette Regional Airport (LFT) in Louisiana rewards members by entering them into monthly giveaways. Each time you visit the airport and swipe your driver's license or membership card at a designated kiosk, you are automatically entered to win monthly prizes such as meals, merchandise, gift certificates and more.

The GNV Ultimate Road Warrior Club at Georgia's Gainesville Regional Airport (GNV) also gives out monthly rewards, which are donated by local businesses such as museums and restaurants. However, once a month, it rewards the passenger who took the most round trips through GNV with a special grand prize. Whether or not you win, all Road Warrior members get private airport lounge access.

Our favorite airport loyalty rewards programs

This isn't an exhaustive list of airport loyalty rewards programs. Rather, we sought to highlight programs located at some of the busiest airports in the world or ones that are exceptionally lucrative. Next time you fly, do a quick search to see if any of the airports you'll be passing through have a frequent flyer program and sign up before your trip.

  • Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF) Frequent Parker Program : Earn points toward free parking and get access to dedicated airport parking entry and exit lanes.
  • Harrisburg International Airport (MDT) Susquehanna Club : Travelers age 21 and above who fly at least 25,000 miles per year on an airline serving MDT can join the Susquehanna Club airport lounge.
  • Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) Parking Rewards : Sign up online and prebook parking to earn reward points. You earn one day of free parking for every 10 days of paid parking.
  • Greater Binghamton Airport (BGM) Business Travelers Rewards Program : This program has three tier levels, each based on how often you park at the airport. You can earn perks like free parking and gift cards to use at airport restaurants.
  • Indianapolis International Airport (IND) parkIND Plus Program : Members earn points toward free parking every time they park at the airport.
  • Heathrow Airport (LHR) Heathrow Rewards : Members earn points by spending money at participating airport retailers, bars, restaurants, hotel partners, lounges, prebooked parking facilities and more. Points can be used for discounts on shopping and parking or transferred to select airlines.
  • Paris Aeroport's Extime Rewards : This loyalty program is valid at both Paris-Orly Airport (ORY) and Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). After signing up, you can receive discounts on airport services like parking and luggage wrapping. You can also earn points at participating airport retailers or when prebooking parking. Points can be redeemed for parking or at select retailers.
  • Thanks Again Rewards : More than 100 airports, including Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) and Miami International Airport (MIA), partner with Thanks Again to provide frequent travelers with rewards. When you register, you can link your debit and/or credit cards to your account and earn points when you use your linked cards to shop, dine and park at participating airports. You can redeem your accrued points for gift cards, cash back or Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles.

The best credit cards for airport perks

With most airport loyalty programs, you have to spend money to earn rewards. You might as well put those costs on a credit card that can improve your airport experience even more. Here are a few of the best credit cards for perks like lounge access and airport dining :

The following cards are some of our favorite cards for airport lounge access:

  • Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card : This card provides access to more than 1,300 lounges, including Capital One Lounges and the Partner Lounge Network.

The Citi Prestige card is not taking new applicants, and you can't apply for the Ritz-Carlton card, though you can obtain it if you have another Marriott credit card from Chase .

Bottom line

Airport loyalty rewards programs aren't the most lucrative programs out there, but you have nothing to lose by signing up for a free membership. If you spend money on things like airport parking and dining, these programs can help you earn valuable rewards that you can use toward future trips.
