Kenny Chesney to Embark on Nostalgic I Go Back 2023 Tour with Kelsea Ballerini — See the Dates!

Kicking off in March, the tour will see Chesney play shows for fans "who might not come to stadium shows, who live a little off the obvious path, but who love this music every bit as much..."

Kenny Chesney is going back to his roots.

Shortly after his massive Here and Now 2022 Tour wrapped in August, the country superstar announced on Monday that he's embarking on the I Go Back Tour with opening act Kelsea Ballerini next year, which will see Chesney hit cities outside of major markets — and many that he hasn't played since his rise to fame.

Launching March 25 at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, Pennsylvania, the I Go Back Tour will feature shows in North American locations including Lexington, Kentucky, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma before wrapping July 22 at the Hy-Vee Indy Race in Des Moines, Iowa — with more dates set to be added.

Chesney, 54, opened up about the tour's inspiration in a press release, telling fans that he was thinking about how to "recapture the magic" after concluding the Here and Now Tour.

"I still have the sounds of diesel engines and No Shoes Nation in my head — and that made me ask, 'What else could I do? What would be something that would put me every bit as much in the music and give No Shoes Nation another reason to believe?'" he stated, noting that he wants to play for fans "who might not come to stadium shows, who live a little off the obvious path, but who love this music every bit as much..."

The thought led the 12-time CMA Award-winner to think about his 2004 hit single "I Go Back," written about how music can remind you of important life moments.

"That song is about holding all those things that shaped you very close, recognizing how special they are – and keeping them alive any way you can," he continued. "So, I decided that rather than just go repeat what we did, I wanted to take this band and these songs to a lot of the cities we played on our way up! Let's call the tour I Go Back – and do just that."

Elsewhere in the press release, Chesney recalled playing some of the cities during the early years of his career, noting the "craziness" of the shows in "markets where people were using chain-cutters to get onto the lawn because we were so sold out in the Carolinas."

"That's a kind of energy that should never be left behind. For all those fans — based on how good last year felt — I want to bring what was coming off that stage to you, where you are, so we can all have that kind of experience together!" added Chesney.

Fans can expect to see the musician perform songs from his catalog that "time stamp people's lives" and "serve as the touchstone for memories in the making."

He said in the statement, "For people to come out and either live these songs again, or hear them for the first time? Who knows what will happen? But I know whether it's 'American Kids,' 'Get Along' or 'You And Tequila,' every single person knows exactly what we're singing about and singing along to together."

In another press release, Chesney spoke about choosing Ballerini, 29, as the tour's opening act following their 2020 duet "Half of My Hometown."

"Kelsea understands everything about where I come from, because she's from there, too," said the musician, referencing the fact that both he and Ballerini grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee.

"She knows how hard it is to leave, how much you miss all those things that make you who you are... but also how the only way to chase the kind of dream she has is to do just that. It's a tough call when you love home the way we both do, but for kids like us, there was never really a choice," added Chesney.

He then recalled the origin of "Half of My Hometown," noting that Ballerini texted him to record the duet: "As soon as I heard that first verse, I was in. And I have been one of Kelsea's biggest fans ever since. She's a writer, a girl who sings from her heart and isn't afraid to honor where she comes from. To me, there was no other choice for this tour."

Ballerini also spoke about collaborating with Chesney on both the song and tour in the press release, acknowledging their hometown connection.

"Music has taken me so many incredible places," she said, noting that she's collaborated across genres. "But singing with Kenny is going home. He was the only voice I heard on 'half of my hometown,' and when he comes in, it's just like hitting the Knoxville city limits. So to be able to go out to those cities like the place he and I grew up with an artist who's accomplished what he has, it's a lot like going home."

Tickets for the I Go Back Tour go on presale for American Express card members in select markets from Nov. 23 at 10 a.m. local time through Dec. 1 at 10 p.m. local time. The general public gains access to tickets the following day at 10 a.m. local time.

Kenny Chesney Announces 2023 I Go Back Tour with Kelsea Ballerini

by Alli Patton November 21, 2022, 1:49 pm

“When a year is as hot and alive as 2022 was you don’t want to try to recapture that magic,” country star Kenny Chesney said in a statement.

Videos by American Songwriter

Instead, the singer has brainstormed ways to make his next tour even bigger than the last. All the while, he promises to bring his shows to fans residing off the beaten tour path.

“I still have the sounds of diesel engines and No Shoes Nation in my head,” the country star continued. “And that made me ask, ‘What else could I do? What would be something that would put me every bit as much in the music and give No Shoes Nation another reason to believe? How can we reach those people who might not come to stadium shows, who live a little off the obvious path, but who love this music every bit as much.”

That’s when it hit him to go back the way he came. The “I Go Back” way. Fittingly, his upcoming tour is named and inspired by his 2004 hit, “I Go Back.”

“That song is about holding all those things that shaped you very close, recognizing how special they are – and keeping them alive any way you can,” he said. “So, I decided that rather than just go repeat what we did, I wanted to take this band and these songs to a lot of the cities we played on our way up! Let’s call the tour I Go Back – and do just that.”

Chesney wants to bring the energy of those early days of touring to his upcoming run of shows. “I remember coming up, the craziness of so many of those dates,” Chesney said. “Markets where people were using chain-cutters to get onto the lawn because we were so sold out in the Carolinas… and that’s a kind of energy that should never be left behind. For all those fans – based on how good last year felt – I want to bring what was coming off that stage to you, where you are, so we can all have that kind of experience together!”

Joining Chesney on the road will be fellow Tennessee native, Kelsea Ballerini. “Kelsea understands everything about where I come from, because she’s from there, too,” Chesney said of his tour mate. “She’s a writer, a girl who sings from her heart and isn’t afraid to honor where she comes from. To me, there was no other choice for this tour.”

The two collaborated on Ballerini’s 2021 single and No. 1 hit, “half of my hometown.”

“Music has taken me so many incredible places,” Ballerini said. “Around the world, singing with some of my heroes in pop, alternative and contemporary music, but singing with Kenny is going home. He was the only voice I heard on ‘half of my hometown,’ and when he comes in, it’s just like hitting the Knoxville city limits. So to be able to go out to those cities like the place he and I grew up with an artist who’s accomplished what he has, it’s a lot like going home.”

The I Go Back Tour will kick off on Mar. 25 at Bryce Jordan Center in State College, Pennsylvania, and will criss-cross the country for a 21-date trek.

KENNY CHESNEY Announces Dates For “I Go Back 2023 Tour”

Having played to over 1.3 million fans on his Here And Now 2022 Tour , including breaking his personal best at many of the 21 NFL stadium plays, this summer, Kenny Chesney returned to touring with a major burst of everything good. The only country artist to make Billboard ’s Top 10 Touring Acts of the Past 25 Years for the last 14, Chesney wanted to find a completely different way to honor No Shoes Nation for his 2023 concerts.

“When a year is as hot and alive as 2022 was,” Chesney explains, “you don’t want to try to recapture that magic. Or maybe it’s me. I still have the sounds of diesel engines and No Shoes Nation in my head – and that made me ask, ‘What else could I do? The 21-date I Go Back 2023 Tour will criss-cross the country, returning to the places Chesney first caught fire including Lexington, KY, Grand Rapids, MI, Lincoln, NE and Oklahoma City, OK as well as headlining the Hy-Vee Indy Race in Des Moines and Tortuga Music Festival in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

“I remember coming up, the craziness of so many of those dates,” Chesney says of his tour’s inspiration. “Markets where people were using chain-cutters to get onto the lawn because we were so sold out in the Carolinas… and that’s a kind of energy that should never be left behind. With a few more shows to announce, I Go Back 2023 is set to focus on the same musical intensity and high energy performances that marked the East Tennessean’s precedent-setting concerts. Having been raised in Knoxville, Chesney knows the power of bringing music to the fans – and wants to recognize the bond that live shows create among friends of all ages.

“These songs time stamp people’s lives,” Chesney says. “They put people in their lives, but they also serve as the touchstone for memories in the making. Peek into the first night of Kenny Chesney’s I Go Back 2023 Tour

Kenny Chesney  kicked off the first night of his I Go Back 2023 Tour at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Thursday, March 23. The venue, though one of the smallest he’s played in years, was still filled with Kenny’s signature stadium-sized energy.

Kenny had the crowd singing along to hits such as “‘Til It’s Gone,” “Reality,” “The Good Stuff,” “Living In Fast Forward” and “All The Pretty Girls.”

The last time Kenny played at John Paul Jones Arena was during an opening slot he had in 2006.

“It was a crazy thing,” Kenny shared backstage prior to the concert. “We pulled up and all of the  Statler Brothers  were there, and they watched the entire show from the third row. Charlottesville is that kind of place: the very best of who they are come out and just live in the music. I can’t believe we’ve been away this long.”

Fellow Knoxville native  Kelsea Ballerini  also joined Kenny onstage to harmonize on “Wild Child” and perform their CMA Award-winning duet, “half of my hometown.”

“I wanted to bring all the power and all of the passion that we have at those stadium shows,” Chesney said after the show. “I want every single person who’s in the room to know how much we love them, to feel as good as they’ve ever felt, and to go home hoarse from the cheering and singing. Charlottesville, Virginia, sure made the opening night feel like the biggest stadiums.”

Jason and Kylie Kelce Make Second Appearance at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour for Night 2 in London

The Philadelphia Eagles alum and his wife were spotted handing out friendship bracelets and taking selfies with fans

Jason  and  Kylie Kelce  are back at Taylor Swift 's  Eras Tour !

On Saturday, June 22, the  Philadelphia Eagles  alum, 36, and his wife, 32, came back for their second appearance at the tour as Swift, 34, played her second show at London's Wembley Stadium.

The couple was spotted checking in at security ahead of the show. Kylie wore a casual all-black look while Jason sported a white-and-yellow button down, plus tons of friendship bracelets — a necessity for the Eras Tour .

The parents of three also posed for a selfie with a few fans — and swapped friendship bracelets with them.

"Um hello @JasonKelce & Kylie!?" one Swiftie wrote on X (formerly Twitter) sharing their selfie with the couple. "Thanks for the friendship bracelet!!"

Jason and Kylie made their first public appearance at the tour on Friday, June 21. Fans posted photos and videos to social media of the pair entering the VIP section, signing Eagles merch and swapping bracelets along the way.

The first night of Swift's London Eras Tour performances was a star-studded one.

Swift's boyfriend and Jason's brother, Travis Kelce , 34, also attended alongside his brother and sister-in-law . The British royal family even stopped by the concert, as Prince William ,  Prince George  and  Princess Charlotte were spotted dancing to "Shake It Off" and posed for a selfie with Travis and Swift after the show.

Queer Eye   star Jonathan Van Ness also posted on  Instagram  following Friday's show that featured selfies with many of the celebs who attended, including  Bridgerton 's Nicola Coughlan ,  Salma Hayek ,  Leslie Mann ,  Cara Delevingne , Camilla Whitehill-Mathieson and Van Ness’ husband  Mark Peacock .

This weekend also marks a public reunion for Swift, Jason and Kylie. The trio were last seen spending time together back in February this year as they cheered on Travis at the  Super Bowl LVIII  in Las Vegas. The group were photographed hanging out in a  box alongside  Swift's friends  Blake Lively  and  Ice Spice .

The  “Tortured Poets Department” singer  and Kansas City Chiefs football player first sparked dating rumors in September 2023 after  Swift attended a handful of Kelce's games .

Travis had made an appearance at the Eras Tour at Arrowhead Stadium back in July 2023, where he  tried — and failed — to give Swift his phone number  after the show.

The couple later confirmed their relationship in September 2023, after the singer was spotted cheering on the Chiefs, also at Arrowhead Stadium. Travis has since attended several more shows during their relationship.

Swift is set to play one more show in London this weekend before heading off to Dublin next weekend as she continues the European leg of her record-breaking tour.

She will then return to Wembley on Aug. 15 for five more shows, leading experts to estimate that she will have  700,000 fans in attendance across all eight London shows.

How to get tickets for Paul McCartney’s 2024 UK tour: presale, ticket prices and everything you need to know

Macca’s Got Back tour will come to the UK for several huge arena shows later this year

Amy Houghton

Paul McCartney’s last performance in the UK was his legendary set at Glastonbury 2022. Critics called it ‘ a masterclass from the greatest living cultural figure in this country’s history ’ and ‘ one of the most thrilling, uplifting, banger-filled, star-studded sets ’ that the festival had ever seen.

If you missed out on seeing that show in person two years ago, now is your chance to make up for it. The Beatles icon has announced that he will finally be bringing his Got Back tour to the UK.

Paul launched the tour in 2022 and has already taken it to cities across the US, Australia and South America, so we know a little bit about what to expect. Prepare to belt along to ‘Hey Jude’, ‘Live and Let Die’ and ‘Got to Get You into My Life’, alongside loads of other classics and some newer material.

Sound good? You bet it does? Here’s how you can get your hands on tickets for Got Back in the UK.

When is Paul McCartney going on his UK tour 2024?

Macca will be playing at Manchester ’s Co-op Live on Saturday December 14 and Sunday December 15 . Then he’ll be at the O2 Arena in London on Wednesday December 18 and Thursday December 19 .

When do tickets go on sale?

Get it in you diaries – tickets go on general sale on Ticketmaster here  from 10am on Friday June 21.

Is there a presale?

You bet. Presale for all four shows went live today (Wednesday June 19) at 10am. Find Manchester presale here  or become a Co-op member to be first in line. And, if you’re an O2 Priority member, find London presale here .

How much are Paul McCartney tickets?

In the presale, tickets ranged massively in price – with some first tier tickets at the Co-op Live going for £107 and seats at the back of the O2 Arena in London priced at around £125 (excluding booking fees – up to £146 including them).

The presale was criticised by face-value ticketing site Twickets  for the number of supposed touts that snapped up tickets and are attempting to sell them at extortionate prices (well over £500). As always, beware of buying from resale sites.

Can I go VIP?

If you have the cash to splash, absolutely. Fans who book a VIP ticket at the O2 will get to enjoy VIP entrance to the arena, access to the VIP lounge and seats in the venue's VIP blocks.

As a VIP at Manchester’s Co-op Live, you’ll get a complimentary glass of wine, beer or soft drink, premium refreshments, top-quality food, an exclusive merchandise shop and dedicated toilets. For more info, head to the official hospitality partner, Seat Unique .

Where else is Paul McCartney touring as part of his Got Back tour?

Before he lands on home soil, Paul will be playing shows across South America in October, then Paris and Madrid at the beginning of December. His London shows will mark the end of the tour.

What has been said about the tour?

On announcing his UK string of shows, Paul said: ‘I’m excited to be ending my year and 2024 tour dates in the UK. It’s always such a special feeling to play shows on our home soil. It’s going to be an amazing end to the year. Let’s get set to party. I can’t wait to see you.’

Glastonbury 2024 - live updates: Tickets sold out as Twitter users complain of ‘screen of death’

Coach tickets sold out in just 25 minutes, while general admission tickets will be up for grabs on sunday (19 november), article bookmarked.

After a frenzied rush for coach tickets earlier this week, general admission passes for Glastonbury Festival 2024 went on sale at 9am GMT this morning.

Organisers have urged anyone hoping to buy a ticket to check their existing registration immediately or submit a new registration.

Considering that coach tickets sold out in 25 minutes on Thursday (16 November) , we’ve compiled a handy list of tips and tricks to maximise your chances at landing a ticket to Worthy Farm.

The sale comes as rumours swirl around potential headliners for next year’s festival at Worthy Farm. Following criticism over 2023’s all-male headliners, co-organiser Emily Eavis has hinted that two female acts could top the Pyramid Stage next year, with another booked for the Legends slot.

Ticket sales were delayed by two weeks this year “out of fairness” to customers who didn’t realise their registrations had expired.

A statement was posted to the Glastonbury website just hours before the tickets were originally due to go on sale on Thursday 2 November announcing that the sale date had been postponed.

Glastonbury 2024 tickets go on sale today!

How to get Glastonbury Festival 2024 tickets today

Hello, and welcome back to our liveblog for the Glastonbury 2024 ticket sale!

After the hiccup with registration earlier this month, things should hopefully run smoothly this evening as coach tickets go on sale at 6pm.

Ahead of time, here are some top tips for getting tickets to Glastonbury Festival 2024

• A good internet connection. The last thing you need is your broadband failing at the precise moment the transaction is going through.

• The time. You need to be on the tickets page on the Glastonbury website at precisely 6pm on 2 November, or 9am on 5 November for general sale. So set your alarms!

• Money at the ready. Make sure your correct bank details, including the right billing address, and know the answers to any additional security questions you might be asked by your card issuer (this is likely if you’re buying multiple tickets). Accept the terms and conditions and make sure you complete the check out within the allocated time slot.

• It’s not over until the SOLD OUT sign appears on the Glastonbury website. So don’t freak out if you see a message notifying fans that “all available tickets have now been allocated”. That means the orders are being processed, but at least a few people end up running out of time... meaning the tickets are up for grabs again.

• Avoid multiple tabs. As stated on the Glastonbury website, trying to buy tickets on multiple tabs could actually put you at risk of confusing the ticket sales process and result in a failed transaction. “We strongly advise that you use just one browser tab when trying to book tickets, in order to avoid possible problems with your transaction,” Glastonbury says.
