Glorious Greece

Glorious Greece - a trip of a lifetime made possible by excellent guides, great hotels, and an amazing itinerary. From start to finish our trip to Athens, Mykonos and Santorini was exceptional as were our hospitable guides. The team at Indus and its partners went above and beyond for our group. We especially loved Nena our guide at the Acropolis who was exceptionally knowledgeable about all aspects of the site including the mythology and stories told for generations. This is a trip we won't soon forget.

Unforgettable Ireland with Indus was perfect small group tour of 20 people covering Dublin, Belfast, Derry, Donegal, Galway, Killarney, Kilkenny and lots in between. The tour was very well paced with plenty of activities balanced with free time. Hotels, food, scenery, culture, history, fun, all amazing. Brilliant tour guide Kevin with loads of local knowledge.

Truly breathtaking sightseeing on Best

Truly breathtaking sightseeing on Best of Peru, Argentina & Brazil tour! We visited all 3 countries - Peru, Argentina and Brazil. The planning and logistics involved to get us to the next destination must have been phenomenal. All went smoothly. We have done many trips in the past and we were extremely impressed with Indus and their local agents. Would travel again with Indus, in fact, look forward to doing so again soon. The countries we visited were very interesting and quite different from each other which made it more fascinating to see them. A special thank you to Rachel at Indus for providing us great service and assistance.

We do not normally travel with guided tours but myself and my wife decided to try it for this Africa trip due to lack of planning time. This was such a good experience! Monica with Indus was very helpful in guiding us through our booking process and helping us prepare for the trip. Our tour manager Tony was very knowledgeable and really cared about everybody on the tour having a great experience in his country. Our tour group only had 14 people in it, and we were all a little family by the end of our 2 weeks together. The hotels were very nice, the food was good, and the wildlife was phenomenal. I would definitely recommend Indus Travels to anyone considering it!

Taste of Portugal tour was just the…

Taste of Portugal tour was just the right amount of time, with adequate time to do your own thing plus interesting and well planned activities. The number of the participants was also really good - about 15 of us so we got to know most people over the 7 days. One thing I was disappointed with was that even though the tour says it was for 8 days it really in essence was only 7, as day 1 was nothing, just checking in to the hotel for the evening. So I think it is a bit misleading to call it a 8 day tour. The hotels were all of a very good standard and in good locations.

Amazing Ecuador with Galapagos…

We booked an Ecuador with Galapagos tour with Indus. From the beginning to the end, it was exceptional. The support we received from Indus made everything smooth, even when we had two flights canceled (not due to Indus) and had to make changes. We have used Indus for multiple trips and we highly sing their praises.

Indus is a company you want to avoid

Indus is a company you want to avoid. They are not honest at all. When a company will not share information, you must wonder why. They are a travel agency not the company that provides the tour. They will not even tell you the name of the company you will be travelling with. The only reason they have a BBB rating is because BBB only rates according to the time the company takes to respond to a complaint. the issues are never resolved to the clients satisfaction. Be smart and learn from others misfortune.

Indus Mystical Egypt Tour was excellent…

Indus Mystical Egypt Tour was excellent with the exception of having to be on a flight to Aswan after arriving in Cairo requiring we all get up at 2:30 a.m. creating a major sleep deficit right off the bat. We had few people become ill with diarrhea and being dehydrated and I wonder if lack of sleep might have contributed to this condition. Luckily me and my partner were fine. To repeat Tour Guide Mohamed was terrific! Don't know how Indus provide such a value for money trip for so little money. Great value! Highly recommended.

This company should not be in business

This company should not be in business, unfortunately, they will continue their bad practices as long as people can be duped. I and a friend unfortunately booked with them ( I trusted my friend). I should have looked for reviews on this company before booking. It was supposed to be a London & Scotland tour including a visit to Stonehenge & Bath. Stonehenge & Bath never happened. The tour guides explanation was simply “no we’re not going to do that”. The tour guide was lazy, she had no knowledge of the places we did visit by a non-luxury coach bus with dirty windows. There was soooooo many things wrong with this trip it would take to long to write. I hope people start reading these reviews to save themselves a headache and lost money.

It's with great sadness ,I will never go back

Well it is with great sadness I leave this review , I have gone to indus 20 years plus , my son has as well. I even recommended this place to friends . No more went today ordered a chicken curry ,I got a burger as well. The curry smelt like poo or horse manure, terrible . My son said dad is this normal. He was so disappointed .he's a local lad grew up there ordered many times before. With regret the family running it now have let the standards drop badly . Seems the old man was the back bone of this business . Would not bother ordering from indus, highly disappointing. There is no way you can cook a dish in 2 minutes . Old chicken being used from previous days . Food poisoning alert.

A shameful company

DO NOT USE Travel Indus for traveling. It is a deceptive company. I live in Sarasota, Florida and was supposed to fly to Europe the same day that Category 4 hurricane Ian hit us. Indus Travel said it was fine for us to travel. The hurricane was catastrophic; many lost their homes due to the winds and flooding and we lost water, power and Wi-Fi for over a week in addition to minor damage. We were required to evacuate and sheltered with all roads closed during the hurricane. Even our main Florida highway was flooded. I asked Travel Indus to postpone our trip. They refused. They could care less about us losing our lives and completely ignored our multiple requests to postpone the trip. I contacted them 12 times in 1 week and received no help. This company is disgraceful and shouldn’t be doing travel business.

Date of experience : September 29, 2022

Reply from Indus Travels

We really appreciate how frustrating this must all have been for you and we certainly empathise with your situation and that of all Floridians affected by the recent hurricane. You contacted us numerous times in the lead up to your trip and we explained each time that Miami International Airport was not closed and that the flight booked on was still scheduled to operate; that this could change at a moments notice and should that happen we could then review what options the airline would provide as alternative travel plans. This occurred with a few of the airports in Florida but not with Miami International; which stayed open. We suggested that if you had travel insurance (it was not purchased through us), that you should contact them immediately to open a claim. We did not tell you to travel; we simply advised that all services were scheduled to depart as originally booked. We understand that your circumstances warranted that you should stay put and not travel, however as per our terms and conditions the tour would be considered non refundable/non transferrable. We have clients with medical emergencies or other urgent reasons that must also cancel last minute and as much as we empathise with their situations too, we must follow our terms & conditions for all our clients regardless of how we may feel personally. The main reason that we get our valued clients like yourself to agree to the terms and conditions at the time of booking is because we also agree to stringent terms with our tour and airline partners. This is why we offer travel insurance at the time of booking. Travel Insurance is meant to cover one for the what ifs, the unknowns that can happen prior to or during travel.

Indus lied about the airline

Indus lied about the airline, not a direct flight, not Emirates. Indus booked us into fleabag hotels. The nile cruise food was pigslop. Never use them. They do not care about your travel experience.

BUYER BEWARE!!

BUYER BEWARE!!! This company has a policy that if THEY cancel your trip…THEY get to keep your money and you get a credit the company. They cancelled my first trip..found out the hard way about their policy. Booked a trip…then had left over money so booked another…which they cancelled…again. Surprisingly…this time they offered a refund, but only gave me back the money I had put down…not what was left of “my credit”. So now I am forced to do business with a company I no longer wish to, that picks and chooses when to follow their own policy!! There are plenty of other travel agencies with similar tours…don’t give these guys your hard earned money for them to keep.

If I could give them a lower score I would! I booked a trip to Morocco in October 2021. I bought travel insurance for the trip. Because of the Covid rate in Morocco the trip was canceled. They told me it was not possible to refund my money, I could book another trip. How can you plan another trip without knowing what’s going to happen with the Covid rate, New Covid variances, on and on and on.

They are SCAMMERS

They are SCAMMERS! We booked a trip in March 2022 for April 2023. Last week we got an email saying they can no longer offer those dates but we can pay more to go on a different dates. I asked for a refund but they are refusing a refund and only want to give us a credit to use with them. They have held onto our money for a year just to cancel the trip and refuse a refund.

BOOK ELSEWHERE

THE GUIDE DIDNT GIVE AN ENGLISH TOUR!!! Please Beware if traveling in Greece or other European Countries. I booked an English speaking tour in Greece, the tour ended up being a bus ride across the country in Spanish. I brought this to the attention of Indus the very first day of the tour! Indus utilizes EUROPMUNDO who is clearly a scam company. First and foremost, our tour itinerary included numerous unnecessary stops at small villages ill-equipped to cater to the needs of a large group like ours. This resulted in excessive travel time and a lack of suitable facilities, including toilets and restaurants capable of accommodating our group's size. The selection of hotels and the quality of food provided were subpar, leading us to feel deceived and unsatisfied with the overall value of the tour. This was exacerbated by the absence of a meet-and-greet or clear information on where to assemble on the first day. Regrettably, these circumstances led to the unfortunate consequence of spending a significant portion of our vacation on the bus, with our arrival at cities often coinciding with the closure of attractions.

Date of experience : September 08, 2023

Hello Heather, We are sorry to hear that you are not enjoying your trip. Please note that you booked a multilingual coach tour and it is clearly identified on our website at multiple places. The detailed itinerary is also published and the tour operator follows what is published. Again we are sorry if you feel that this is not something you were looking forward to. We have passed on your feedback to the ground operator as well.

Are They Still in Business…

I had a tour book to Portugal which was cancelled. Have been trying to get my money refunded. Email contact has stopped and you can't call them on the telephone. You have to leave a name and number which I did. I have started proceedings with my credit card company to get the refund. Are they still in business?

I had the misfortune of traveling with…

I had the misfortune of traveling with them to Thailand several years ago. The hotels were third rate and there was 2 stops each way on the flight. My friend who organized a trip to Egypt and Dubai swore that Indus changed their ways and the flight would be direct. Guess what? Each leg has a stop and a 3 and 5 hour delay! Of course they booked the flights a couple of months ago and just informed us a couple of weeks before the trip. The hotel in Cairo was also released and it cost $70 a night! A beautiful hotel would cost $200! It looked like a fleebag! Of course the people who organized the trip looked like deer caught in a headlight. I actually spoke to the crooks there and they said go ahead and sue us. There is nothing you can do. Please look somewhere else

Scam. Dishonest people. Stay away.

Scam. Dishonest people. Stay away. Scam. Stay away. I booked a $1900+ self-drive vacation to Ireland. A few weeks later they still have not booked my itineraries which I needed because I had other flights that I needed coordinate. So I called them and I explained that I needed to cancel. They agreed to cancel and refund my money. However, they never did and when I called them again they denied that they agreed to refund me the money. So I called them to at least give me the trip then since they would not cancel. But they also refused leaving me with nothing in return for my almost $2000. I got totally scammed. Once they get your money, you are at their mercy. This is a group of dishonest people. Stay away.

Day 1: Tokyo (Arrival)

Welcome to Tokyo! Upon arrival at Narita International Airport today, you will be met by our representative and assisted to board transfer to your hotel (standard Check-In time is 14:00 hrs. Early check-in is subject to availability). Spend the rest of the day at leisure Overnight in Tokyo

Day 2: Tokyo (B/-/-)

After breakfast, start your Tokyo city tour from Meiji Jingu, a shrine built in 1920 to commemorate Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. Although located in Tokyo's bustling city center, just a few minutes walk away from Harajuku, the shrine's surrounding forest creates a peaceful, tranquil vibe. If you happen to enter from the Yoyogi entrance, you can see a massive torii gate standing in the road leading to the main shrine. In addition to making offerings and praying at the main shrine, just like the locals do, you can also visit the Meiji Jingu Museum to see the treasures from the shrine's collection. Perhaps there is no better place to learn about Japan's culinary culture in Tokyo than the centrally located Tsukiji Outer Fish Market. Dating all the way back to the Edo Period, it was moved to the current location after the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923. Around 400 shops and restaurants are crammed into the narrow lanes here, trading all kinds of fresh and dried seafood, traditional snacks, and cooking ingredients. Roam around the market as your guide explains Japan's culinary culture, and stop at a restaurant to try some fresh seafood for breakfast or lunch if you wish. Step into the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, the only place open to the public in the palace. The garden sits on the grounds of the former Edo Castle, featuring seasonal flowers, lush green lawns, water features, teahouses, and guardhouses. You can also take in the sight of the double-arched Nijubashi Bridge, which originally was built with wood but later rebuilt with steel. Please note East Gardens of the Imperial Palace closes on Monday and Friday. Afterward, visit Senso-ji Temple, one of Tokyo's most significant Buddhist temples with a history dating back to the 7th century. After slipping past the giant lanterns on the Kaminarimon, which is the outer gate of the temple, stroll along the lively Nakamise-dori, a 250-meter-long street lined by shops bursting with traditional souvenirs, snacks, and sweets. Then, arrive at the second gate Hozomon, beyond which stands the temple's main hall and a five-story pagoda. You can pray to the Kannon enshrined in the main hall just like the locals do, pick up an omikuji (random fortunes written on strips of paper), and get a temple seal stamp at the Yokodo located next to the main hall. Overnight at Tokyo

Day 3: Tokyo (B/-/-)

Today is yours to explore this charming city at your own pace. Apart from numerous historic spots, you can step into some popular neighborhoods for a glimpse of Japanese daily life. Ramble around the Harajuku district - the center of teenage fashion and cosplay culture, or enjoy shopping at Ginza where the streets are lined up with high-end fashion boutiques, art galleries, and designer brand stores. Overnight at Tokyo

Day 4: Tokyo – Mt Fuji – Hakone (B/-/D)

Enjoy your breakfast, and later, meet your local guide at the hotel lobby. Depart for Mount Fuji. Upon arrival, aboard a cruise on Lake Kawaguchi and appreciate Mt. Fuji from a distance. Afterward, take the Mt.Fuji Panoramic Ropeway to an observation deck near the peak of Mount Tenjo for a panoramic view of the lake below and Mt. Fuji. In the afternoon, drive to Arakurayama Sengen Park, where you can capture its beautiful pagoda with Mount Fuji as a backdrop. Immerse in the beauty of Oshino Hakkai, a set of eight ponds fed by snow melt from the slopes of nearby Mount Fuji. After the tour, transfer to Hakone and overnight in a ryokan with hot spring pools. Dinner is served in your hotel. Overnight at Hakone

Day 5: Hakone - Takayama (B/-/-)

After breakfast, with an easy guide and map on hand, make your way to Odawara Station (Hakone), from where you'll board the Shinkansen to Nagoya Station (1h20min) and then change Express Train to Takayama Station(2h50min). Upon arrival in Takayama, go to the hotel by yourself and have the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Takayama

Day 6: Takayama (B/-/-)

Post breakfast, start your day at the Morning Market, where you can mingle with the locals, get a close look at their daily lives, and stop at stands selling local crafts, snacks, and fresh produce. Then, move on to Nakabashi, a traditional-styled crimson bridge spanning over the Miyagawa River with a dreamy cherry blossom vista in Spring. In the afternoon, visit the Kusakabe Folk Museum. An Edo-period merchants' house owned by the Kusakabe family, the museum now boasts a wide collection of folk crafts, including Hida ceramics. Roaming within the museum is like a journey back in time. Afterward, head to Kami-Sannomachi, located in the southern part of Takayama's old town, to discover traditional homes, shops, and sake breweries lining both sides of the narrow street. Overnight in Takayama

Day 7: Takayama – Shirakawago - Kanazawa (B/-/-)

After having a delicious breakfast, get ready for a 1-hour drive to Shirakawa-go, the fairy tale world made of traditional gassho-zukur farmhouses hidden in the valley. Take off the shoes and explore the living room, guest room, butsuma, and so on inside Wada House to get an idea of how people lived back then. Thereafter, check out the great view of this area at Shirakawa-go Observation Deck. Before going to Kanazawa, you'll explore more farmhouses in gassho style in the Gasshozukuri Minkaen Outdoor Museum. Overnight in Kanazawa

Day 8: Kanazawa – Kyoto (B/-/-)

This morning, after breakfast, visit Kenrokuen Garden to appreciate its water features, bridges, teahouses, trees, flowers, and stones. Just a few steps from the garden is the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art. Spend time according to your interest inside the museum and then visit the reconstructed Kanazawa Castle. After the tour, your guide will drop you off at Kanazawa Station, from where you can take the Shinkansen to Kyoto Station. Find your way to the hotel upon your arrival and have a rest. Overnight in Kyoto

Day 9: Kyoto (B/-/-)

Arashiyama, on the outskirts of Kyoto is a popular spot for you to enjoy the beauty of nature. Today, post breakfast, you will embark on a journey to Arashiyama, a place that is filled with scenic beauty and cultural significance. Your first stop will be at Jojakko-Ji Temple, where you will witness the serenity of the Japanese garden and experience the spiritual ambiance of the temple. After that, you will take a leisurely stroll through the Sagano Bamboo Grove, where you will be surrounded by towering bamboo trees that sway gently in the breeze. Don't forget to capture some stunning photos of the bamboo grove, as it is one of the most photographed locations in Japan. Next, board a Yakatabune, a traditional Japanese pleasure boat, and admire the breathtaking view of the Togetsukyo Bridge from the water. Later, you will sit back and relax on the Sagano Scenic Railway, which will take you on a mesmerizing journey through the countryside. You will be able to hear the gentle rustling of the leaves and feel the cool breeze on your face. As you pass along the Hozugawa River, you will be mesmerized by the scenic beauty of the place. Finally, your guide will accompany you back to the city. Overnight in Kyoto

Day 10: Kyoto – Osaka (B/-/-)

Have your breakfast and later, explore the landmarks of Kyoto, including the Kinkaku-ji Temple with the top two floors completely covered in gold leaf, and the Fushimi Inari Shrine, which is famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates. Later, depart for Osaka and visit Osaka Castle, which is arguably Osaka's most prominent landmark and belies bloody power struggles leading up to the 1603 foundation of the Edo era. After that, go to the Shinsaibashi shopping district. Overnight in Osaka

The tour organized by indus travels ....

The tour organized by Indus Travels was flawless. Hotels, tours, and transportation all impressed me. We had a very relaxing time knowing what was happening at each stage. The scenery and activities were fantastic and did not disappoint. The highlight of the trip was definitely Galapagos Islands.

Booked Mystical Egypt tour with...

Booked Mystical Egypt tour with them visiting Cairo and a 03 Nights Cruise from Luxor to Aswan in May. All services were perfect since the time we arrived at the airport, we were met by a hospitable Indus Representative who helped us with the purchase of local SIM and currency exchange. He was always there in time to assist for transfers. The Amwaj Cruise which we took from Luxor to Aswan was a Gem. We had great guides and all sightseeing worked like a clockwork. We enjoyed visiting Karnak Temples, Temples of Edfu, Kom Ombo and the boat ride to see Phillae Temple. Evening entertainment on cruise were great and engaging. In Cairo and Aswan, we had ample leisure time to explore on own, the Pyramids were impressive and visiting Khan e Khalili was fun. Overall and impressive and enjoyable tour, Thanks to Indus Travels!

Indus Travel runs a highly...

Indus Travel runs a highly professional organization. From customer service to brochures, bookings, tour guides, etc. and the consideration for their customers is superb. This was the first time I had travelled with Indus Travels. We took the Taste of Portugal Tour. Group numbers are small, accommodation comfortable and food excellent. The expert guide who accompanied us was outstanding - passionate, informative, engaging, and entertaining. This company is obviously at the heart of the itinerary planning, and attention to detail is second to none. I would highly recommend this company to anyone wanting a fun, relaxed, educational vacation with fine food - they will deliver! We will never forget this trip and we are already planning for another one to Wonders of Italy, Vienna, Budapest, and Prague.

Best of Italy

Indus Travels did an excellent job planning the trip to Italy. We were on Best of Italy in Oct 2022. The tour was 5 stars all the way. The hotel accommodations were comfortable and clean & guides were top-notch.

We were looking for a...

We were looking for a customized, small group tour. We took a chance on Indus without knowing much about the company. We just returned from our trip to Greece and are more than highly please and satisfied with our experience. They planned an amazing itinerary, booked amazing hotels, hired knowledgeable tour guides and arranged high quality transportation services. Everyone went above and beyond to please us. We are already planning a trip for next year (2024) and will definitely use Indus to do so.

My wife and I along...

My wife and I along with three friends signed up the tour to Mexico from Indus Travel. The total 12-day Maya Culture trip really gave us opportunities to learn Mexico indigenous cultures thoroughly. We have seen a lot of ruins and pyramids, each of them has different representations and can tell the history of what was happening atthat time. We also had chances to visit the indigenous families toexperence the real Mexican people's life inthe rural area. The views of volcanoes, villages and canyons are also unforgettable. This is a small group with total 7 tourists, our driver/tour guide is a very experienced guide, he explained the history in sequence of events in and out. Most of all with 2500km driving he made us fell safe with his skills. All in all, this trip worths a 5+ star. I was so surprised that Indus Travel assigned a tour coordinator dedicated to our group, Kathlene helped a lot to make the arrangement for the whole trip and made us worry free.

My partner and I planned...

My partner and I planned a trip to Greece with a small group. Indus and their representatives went above and beyond to curate an amazing trip that felt very exclusive. We just returned a couple of weeks ago and are already planning another trip.

I booked a trip with...

I booked a trip with Indus to South Africa and had a fabulous time! It was easy to book the trip online and any questions I had were answered very quickly by Sabine. The hotels we stayed at were very nice and in good locations. Our tours were well organized and our safari in Kruger National park was definitely a highlight. A few mornings had a bright and early start, but this allowed us to accomplish quite a lot in a day. The hotel restaurants had decent food, which was convenient if we had a longer day and didn't want to go out to eat. Overall, I was very happy with the trip and I felt the price for my tour was excellent value. I would definitely use Indus again!

Glimpse of Egypt Quick paced tour...

Glimpse of Egypt Quick paced tour taken after Egypt opened back up to tourists, particularly Americans. Went in November and weather was beautiful. Decent hotels and overnight Nile cruise. You will see a lot on this tour and be aware there are some early wake ups. Lots of walking but doable if you're in decent shape. Overall a fun tour with all the sites you have only seen in books!

Indus has some very good...

Indus has some very good tour itineraries at very competitive prices. I called with several specific questions about land only vs. air included, and they were immediately responsive, and within hours had the website description updated to assist anyone else who might have the same questions. I called again with specific questions about insurance, and the first person to answer the phone was completely knowledgeable based on past experience and gave me good advice. Four stars vs. five only because I just made the booking yesterday, and withhold one pending how this whole trip turns out two months from now.
