7 Best Luxury Treks in Nepal

Have you ever embarked on a trek that consists of both adventure and luxury? If you have, you must know the perks of such types of comfort treks. Even if you have not, you should plan and do it at least once in your lifetime. Just imagine flying over the Himalayas in the comfort of a helicopter, waking up in a comfortable room, gazing at the mighty Himalayas in Nepal, or enjoying a hearty breakfast. You must be gaping right now, right? Well, it’s not a dream. It’s all about luxury treks in Nepal and a reality that can happen by spending a little more budget than in regular types of treks. A luxury Heli tour is an alternative way to go for adventure in the highlands and isolated areas in a short period.

Clients taking the luxury tour to the everest base camp

If a traveler has time constraints but wants to explore the mountainous and remote region in a short visit to Nepal in luxury way, he or she may choose to take a luxury trek via helicopter .

Most travelers think that exploring Nepal  is only for adventurous seekers where getting luxurious facilities is impossible. However, this is just a myth because if money is not your concern, then luxury Nepal travel is possible for all travelers ranging from children to old. You still have to trek in luxury trekking adventures, so you earn all of it from the comfort of a luxury heli tour to the finest accommodation while trekking through winding trails in the mountain.

Why should you choose luxury treks?

Luxury treks in Nepal offer better transportation and well-facilitated lodges. Taking a heli tour is a sort of fantastic journey to feel adrenaline soaring above stunning scenery, national parks, lakes, and towns. It can be a one to two-hour flight, involving landing at several famous places and making short walks to explore secluded and lovely places difficult to reach. So, you can combine the adventurous trek with luxury and enjoy the natural, traditional, cultural, and amazing tour package.

Luxury Lodge Treks in Nepal are only available in Everest and Annapurna regions because only these regions have some luxury lodges for trekkers. So, say no camping and sleeping bags!

The level of services and experiences are much different in luxury treks vs budget treks. Budget trek packages include the normal tourist/local buses and regular lodges which are under the budget for all travel lovers. While reaching the trekking point, you will get there via local buses or private jeep, or sometimes via flight. While trekking, you will stay in normal tea houses having a common bathroom. Helicopter tours and staying at the finest local lodges are not available on this kind of trek. Likewise, you must carry a sleeping bag with you to make sure that you spend warm nights inside the unheated room of teahouses. Therefore, budget treks in Nepal are like normal treks where adventure is possible but lacks comfort and luxurious facilities.

Luxury Treks in Nepal include the top-class luxury hotels in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and the best available lodges in the Himalayan region. This kind of trek is completed in a short time as you don’t need to walk for a long time like in budget treks. This trek package includes a helicopter tour in the Himalayas and remote regions and provides access to the best quality available lodges/resorts of the trekking destination. Comparatively, it provides more comfort and high standard consistent services than budget treks. On a luxury trekking holiday in Nepal, you will enjoy the panoramic views of the Himalayan in style and comfort.

There is a chain of comfort treks in Nepal in different parts of the trekking region. Among all of them, we have collected the 7 best luxury treks in Nepal and bought information about those trip packages to make your journey hassle-free, easy, and luxurious. So, let’s dig into it.

With the Highland Expedition, you can enjoy the stunning views of the Himalayas, acclimatize to the high altitude, reach EBC, and fly back to Kathmandu in a helicopter, saving the time and effort of walking down to the Himalayan town of Lukla.

With us, you can explore Everest’s magnificence even with the limited time you have, as our itinerary has been carefully crafted to maximize your experience.

Our Everest base camp trek with helicopter return demands a daily trek of around 6 to 8 hours. Our group size ranges from 2 to 12, and we offer personalized trips as well. The trip takes in the maximum elevation at Kalapathar and an overnight stop at 5,140 m/16,865 ft in Gorekshep. Standing at the proud height of Kalapathhar, you will feel a sense of accomplishment and marvel at the natural wonders that surround you. With a maximum altitude of 5545 m (18,193 ft) at Kalapathar, this trek is ideal for those looking for the perfect blend of adventure and excitement with comfort and luxury. Prior trekking experience is not mandatory, but a fair level of fitness and a passion to walk at high altitudes are required. So prepare yourself to take off on this magnificent adventure that promises an amazing memory totally immersive Himalayan experience.

This tour starts in the capital of the country, Kathmandu as we take the flight to Lukla. From Lukla, we pass through the beautiful forest of Sagarmatha National Park. As we trek, we go through the ethnic Sherpa villages to the Namche Bazaar. At Namche and Dingboche, we climb very slowly and spend 2 nights at each stop. Then we follow the route of Everest region including Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, and Gorakshep. After Gorakshep, we move to Kalapathar where we get a panoramic view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, and the surroundings. From Kalapathar, we trek down to Gorakshep and eventually take a flight to the capital city, Kathmandu.

At our core, we believe that every traveller is unique, and their journey should reflect their individual preferences. We also arrange helicopter excursions to land at remote mountain monasteries and serene Himalayan lakes for a more personal and intimate experience.

As Chris Dee says, “When it came to “getting away from it all,” there weren’t many places quite like the top of the tallest mountain in the world.” So why miss the opportunity to fly around the tallest mountain in the world? During this flight from Gorakshep, you get to enjoy the close aerial view of the surrounding snow-capped mountains in the Everest region namely Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Khumbutse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Pumori, and Mt. Amadablam. This luxury trek in Nepal is inclusive of all meals, drinks, beverages, unlimited hot water, oxygen (if needed), an expert guide, a sufficient staff-to-client ratio, a comprehensive medical kit, complimentary use of a down jacket, a warm sleeping bag, a waterproof duffel bag, and the helicopter flight from Gorakshep to Kathmandu.

4. Everest Base Camp Gokyo Lakes Heli Trek

Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes Trek

Our fourth recommendation for luxury treks in Nepal is our Everest base camp gokyo lakes heli trek. Trek to the famous Everest base camp, Kalapathar, Gokyo Lakes and conclude the trek with a helicopter flight out to Kathmandu instead of walking all the way down to Lukla to catch a flight. This trek includes a visit to the famous highlights of the Everest region and is a fully guided and supported trek with a high staff-to-client ratio too.

Two major viewpoints such as Kalapathar and Gokyo Ri will be visited for a panoramic view of the Himalayas. Your stay on this trek will be on comfortable lodges run by the local people and the meal choices are very decent too. The Chola pass is also another highlight of this trek which connects the busy Everest region to the Gokyo region.

Once we have completed the trek, we will board a helicopter from Gorekshep and fly all the way to Kathmandu. The helicopter we use is Airbus H125 which is very popular in the Himalayas for all types of flights.

Best luxury treks in nepal.

Luxury trekking in Nepal is a fantastic lifetime trekking memo combination of the finest luxury accommodation, full of natural and cultural wonders and religious insights in the Nepalese Himalayas .

You might have heard the luxury city tour packages in the form of tours inside the Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Pokhara with a luxury car accommodating in the star hotels. However, a luxury trekking tour is relatively a novice term where trekkers walk in the day following the same or an alternative trekking trail but stay in the luxury lodges at night .

After summiting the dream destination, trekkers need not repeat the same route in such trekking. You can hire a helicopter and just fly back to Kathmandu/Pokhara in such packages. In terms of budget, luxury trekking packages are more expensive. Still, you will never regret it as these packages offer the best services and comfortable accommodation and food choices.

A question may arise: What is the difference between luxury trekking and regular teahouse trekking? The difference is in facilities. The bedroom with a large-sized bed, well decorated, other suite facilities, and a western-style toilet with 24-hour hot water shower will be available in this package, which is rare in the teahouses trek. In addition, you will get a twin sharing bedroom, sharing a bathroom, bucket water (for hot water, you need to pay an extra amount) for bathing, etc.

But, luxury lodges may not be unavailable in all trekking areas of Nepal. The Annapurna and Everest region trekking parts offer the finest trekking lodges accommodations. For those trekkers, who wish to experience their comfortable trekking way, these trekking packages are suitable ones.

You will be staying at star hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Postcard-perfect landscapes, emerald green valleys, shimmering glacial lakes, and the meadows dotted with tiny wildflowers are all framed by the arresting snow-capped peaks of Nepal can be witnessed while trekking in the Himalayan foothills .

The tour and trekking packages are designed to explore Nepal easily and comfortably and are possible throughout the year. However, March to May and September to November are considered the perfect months for trekking in Nepal.

What is the best time for luxury trekking in Nepal?

Each month, day, and every single moment, you will get something new in Nepal. So traveling to Nepal require no particular year or month. Instead, every month has its unique features. Nevertheless, among the four-season which Nepal experiences for the luxury trekking in Nepal , the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) would be gorgeous times in the mountain foothills.

During spring months, astonishing steep-sided hills are colorful with ample spring flowers blossoms, including the rhododendron ones. Nevertheless, the weather and climate remain stable, and there is only a rare chance of rain/waterfall.

Nepal witnesses pure and natural allure, and the environment gets refreshed as all the dust particles wash away by the continuous precipitation of monsoon months. As a result, Trekkers can witness greenery everywhere.

The less probability of heavy rainfall or snowing makes it easier to complete the journeys even in the high Himalayas. More than that, as both seasons are pretty favorable for trekking accomplishments, it is a prodigious time to immerse in landscape profligately.

The final words

Luxury trekking in Nepal is a perfect taste of natural wonders, cultural beauty, and religious practices in a luxurious way. While trekking in the foothills of the Himalayas, trekkers will stay in luxury lodges hotels experiencing fabulous Nepalese hospitality .

You'll find the lodges on the way offering you the highest level of services with landscaped gardens, comfortable lounges, and happy hours just beneath or facing the giant mountain peaks.

Open the lodge window and witness the world's highest elevated peaks, get the magnificent view of the sun's first last run over those giant peaks, explore diverse vegetation and wildlife inside the conservation areas or national parks. All in all, enjoy the Himalayan trips in a deluxe setting.

There were 7 of us on our private Annapurna/Dhaulagiri trek. It was MAGNIFICENT in every way. Our guides Kira and Biru were fantastic - helpful, humorous, very professional. We had amazing food so thanks to the cooks Raju and KV...and we loved the porters. A fabulous job all round. Eco Lodges and camp sites were equally comfortable...'Washy washy' in the morning and evening was refreshing (who needs a hot shower!). A few minor ailments along the way were beautifully attended to by our head guide. No-one got sick from the food or water. Everyone in our group got on well - lots of laughs and singing. Fabulous weather. Absolutely fabulous view of the mountains and glorious rhodedendrons. Thanks World Expeditions. This was our second trip and you guys do a really excellent job!

Khopra Ridge Khayer Lake Trek

I can't say enough about Sherpa expedition nd Trekking. Great communication from the beginning of our planning with Ram Barakoti. We met our guide, Praveen, upon arrival in Kathmandu and he was with us every step of the way. We started on the Annapurna Circuit but due to weather and poor trail conditions we rerouted to Mardi Himal and Khopra Ridge - Praveen made this transition painless and we were able to experience different regions of Nepal. Already thinking about a return trip!

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek

First time trekking in Nepal so we went for Poon Hill trip for astonishing perspectives on the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. We addressed a heap of organizations before we discovered Sherpa Expedition and Trekking on a Google, and checking their site and data we are glad to such an extent that we went with them. My guide, Sujan has many years of experience trekking in Nepal, demonstrated to us the best visitor houses en route, bailed us out at whatever point he could and gave us an extraordinary understanding into Nepali life.

Moreover, the package also includes optional add-ons, such as a scenic flight and a helicopter tour of Everest Base Camp. Overall, the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek Package caters to travelers who seek a lavish and comfortable trekking experience in the heart of the Himalayas.

What kind of Food and Accommodation are provided?

Our luxury Everest base camp trek plan includes a two-night stay in Kathmandu and eight additional nights while on the actual trek.

In Kathmandu, we stay at a three-star category hotel in Thamel, on the basis of twins sharing breakfast. On the trek, you will spend four-night luxurious accommodations at Yeti Mountain Home (1-night in Phakding, 2 nights in Namche Bazaar, and 1 night in Lukla). The remaining four nights will be spent at standard accommodation (1 night at Deboche, 2 nights at Dingboche, and 1 night at Lobuche).

For food, we provide full board meals (B, L, D) three times a day with tea or coffee on every meal during the trekking duration. Moreover, you will be served with fresh seasonal fruits (Apples and Pomegranate) after dinner during the whole trek. You get to choose foods from the menu in the teahouses and lodges.

Due to hygienic reasons, we advise you against having non-vegetarian foods. Also, for drinks, we recommend you take hot water, lemon tea, ginger tea, etc rather than caffeinated liquids or alcohol.

Our journey begins with a helicopter flight flying over some of the beautiful valleys as we make our way to the Lukla. After successfully stepping foot on the Everest Base Camp we will return back to Lukla from Gorakshep by helicopter. You get an opportunity to enjoy and capture the magical Himalayas from a bird’s eye view.

Note: All the airport transfers are done by the private vehicle.

What is so special about Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek?

From the stunning views of the Himalayan mountains to the rich cultural experience of the Sherpa people, there are many reasons why this trek is so special.

The Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek follows the same route as the classic Everest Base Camp Trek. However, the luxury version provides more comfort and relaxation during the trek. It is like the high-end version of the EBC trek.

And, instead of having to wait for an hour to get your Lukla flight or a 5-hour long drive to Ramechhap during peak season, you will have a luxury flight via Helicopter to Lukla from Kathmandu too.

“After reaching the Everest Base Camp on Day 9 according to the itinerary, you will again ride Helicopter, back to Lukla. This will save a lot of your time and energy which is the best part of enjoying the EBC “

EBC Luxury Itinerary

Upon your arrival, one of our company representatives will be waiting for you at the airport holding a sign with either “Pristine Nepal Treks” or your name on it.

Once we meet, we will welcome you with a traditional garland and then drive you to Thamel, which is approximately 7 km (4.3 miles) from the airport. We will bring you to a luxurious hotel, where you will be served a refreshing drink and introduced to your trekking guide. During this time, we will also provide a briefing on your upcoming trip. Additionally, if you need any trekking gear, we are happy to assist you in collecting it. Typically, we provide sleeping bags and down jackets for trekking.

In most cases, we confirm your trip once you have paid a deposit. We suggest paying 20 to 30% of the package cost through our online payment gateway for trip confirmation. While paying the deposit online, our bank charges a 3.5% fee. If you prefer to pay the remaining balance in cash upon arrival, we ask that you settle this at the hotel or at office.

On morning, your guide will escort you to the airport and will take a scenic 45 to 60-minute helicopter ride to Lukla. Upon arrival in Lukla, you will meet our porter and have time for breakfast and preparations before embarking on the trek to Phakding. At the Pasang Lhamu municipality check post in Lukla, we will obtain all trek permits (Trekkers Card, Khumbu Municipality Permit, and Sagarmatha National Park) for the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek.

The trek to Phakding is not particularly steep, and the trail leads down to Chaurikharka, a charming Sherpa village. From there, you will follow the old trekking trail to Thadokoshi village, crossing a few suspension bridges along the way. While there will be some short uphill and downhill sections, most of the trail remains at a similar altitude. You will see some hydro project pipelines on the way that provide electricity to the local communities, which are largely involved in tourism.

After approximately four hours of walking along the Dudhkoshi riverside, you will arrive at Phakding village, located at an altitude of 2,660m. This tourist-oriented village has about 25 lodges, guesthouses, hotels, and restaurants, and most trekkers stop here for the first night. However, our accommodation at Yati Mountain Home is a luxurious option that sets us apart from the others. This hotel provides a comfortable and enjoyable experience that complements the first day of the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek.

After a delightful night in Phakding, the second day of the Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek begins with a satisfying breakfast. Today’s destination is the famous Namche Bazaar, situated at an altitude of 3,440m and known as the gateway to Mount Everest.

You will cross the suspension bridge in Phakding, which leads to the other side of the Dudhkoshi River, and follow this beautiful river throughout the Everest trekking. Before reaching Namche Bazaar, you will cross at least five suspension bridges and pass through several villages as Tok Tok, Monjo, and Jorsalle, making for a fantastic afternoon walk. At Monjo, there is a Sagarmatha National Park check post where we need to stop for a quick security and permit check. You will stop for lunch at Jorsalle after crossing the river.

After lunch, you will cross the river once again and then face a steep uphill climb. The famous Hillary Bridge awaits after walking for about an hour, which can be a bit intimidating and offers a chilling wind if the weather is nice. After crossing the bridge, you will trek uphill for two hours to reach Namche Bazaar. You will stay overnight at the same Yati Mountain Home.

Today is a very important day. Even though it’s a rest day, we recommend hiking. Our guide will take you to Char camp, which is situated on top of Namche Bazar. From there, you can witness breathtaking mountain views, including Mount Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kusum Kangaru Himal, Kongde Himal, Khumbila, Tawache, Nuptse, and other high peaks. You’ll also see a statue of the late Sherpa mountaineer Tenzing Norgay.

After that, you can climb further up to Syangboche at 3,800m. It’s a steep uphill climb, but not too long. Syangboche is famous for having the highest airport in Nepal at 3,780m, and the Everest View Hotel, which is said to be the highest hotel in the world. You can enjoy a hot drink while admiring the view of Mount Everest from there. After a short tea break hike to Khumjung village for a quick tour. Have lunch there and return to the hotel and day rest or explore the Namche Bazaar. Overnight stay.

After breakfast, you’ll continue your journey from Namche Bazar to Tyangboche after spending two nights at Namche Bazar. The initial part of the trail offers a smooth and pleasant walk with a stunning view of Mount Everest. You’ll trek on a wide and clean path at a similar elevation and witness panoramic views of Lukla valley in the south and a beautiful view in the north-east. After two hours of a lovely walk, you’ll reach Lausasa, where two different trekking routes diverge. The north uphill trail goes towards Gokyo lake valley, while the east downhill route leads to Tyangboche.

You’ll then hike for around an hour downhill to Phungi Thanga, where you’ll stop for lunch and cross another suspension bridge. After lunch, you’ll need to climb uphill for approximately two hours until you reach Tyangboche, a significant place in the Khumbu region. It’s home to the oldest monastery in the region and the center of religious faith for the Buddhist Sherpa people.

Monks typically reside in the monastery and perform puja (worship) every morning and afternoon. You can visit the monastery and receive a blessing from the monk. Then, you’ll walk for another half an hour downhill to Deboche.

Tyangboche only has five lodges, so it can get crowded during high season. If you walk further down for half an hour, Deboche offers comfortable accommodation. Sherpa Culture Home is an luxury option available so we will stop at this hotel for an overnight stay.

Your morning will begin with a delicious breakfast at Deboche, after which you’ll be ready to start your hike. The first part of the trail is a beautiful and flat path through a rhododendron forest, until you reach the Dudhkoshi river. From there, you’ll need to trek uphill until you reach Pangboche village, which is also a famous Sherpa village that has produced many Sherpa climbers for mountaineering. The tree line almost ends here, but you’ll still see a forest on the other side of the mountain facing north.

After Pangboche, you’ll have another flat path for about half an hour, followed by a short uphill trek to Somare, where you’ll take a lunch break for about an hour. Then, you’ll continue on a flat path to Dingboche, although the elevation will continue to increase. It takes about two and a half hours to reach Dingboche from the lunch spot. Dingboche, located at 4,450m, is a relatively large village in this area, and you’ll be spending two nights here.

Today is the second acclimatization day on the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek.

On this day, you will hike to Nangkartshang Peak at 5,121m which can be very helpful for your body to adjust with the higher altitude. Although it is a steep uphill climb from Dingboche, it takes around 2 hours and 30 minutes to reach the peak. The view from the peak includes beautiful views of Mount Makalu at 8,463m, as well as Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Island Peak, Kangtega, Thamserku, Tawache, Cholatse, Nuptse, and many other big mountains.

After descending back to Dingboche before lunch, it is important to rest for the remainder of the day to help with acclimatization. Even if you are being very careful, altitude problems can still occur at this elevation, so it is important to inform your guide or friend if you experience any issues. Normally, two overnight stays in this place should be sufficient to adjust to the altitude.

After spending two nights in Dingboche, you will trek to Lobuche today. The initial part of the trail is a gentle uphill for about 20 minutes, followed by a smooth and gradual horizontal path leading to Thukla, which takes two to three hours. Before reaching Thukla, you will need to cross a small river that flows from the Khumbu glacier.

Upon reaching Thukla at an altitude of 4,600m, also known as Dukla, you will stop for lunch. This place has only two lodges and one tea shop, but it gets crowded during the high season as most trekkers stop here for lunch.

After lunch, you will start a steep uphill climb, which is one of the famous uphills on the Everest base camp trek. Although not very long, trekking here in the afternoon can be challenging and interesting. After about an hour of climbing, you will reach the top of the mountain, where you will see a popular mountaineer’s memorial. From here, it will take you another one and a half hours to reach Lobuche. Overnight stay.

Note: The meals in Lobuche and Gorakshep are not very tasty, and many trekkers lose their appetite due to the altitude as well. Therefore, it is advisable to choose a specific item and the right portion. Bringing food to this place is a significant challenge. Our team always carries an oximeter during trekking, which measures the proportion of oxygenated hemoglobin in the blood to monitor how the body is reacting to the altitude. Rest assured.

Today is the big day because you’ll be reaching Everest Base Camp, so you’ll need to wake up early and have a warm breakfast before setting off around 6 am. The first hour of walking is relatively easy, despite being at a high altitude, with a gradual horizontal path. After about an hour, you’ll need to climb a steep uphill for 20 minutes before mostly walking on a path formed by melting glaciers. From here it will take approximately two hours to reach Gorakshep, where you can take a break and have some food (lunch).

After your rest, you’ll continue your journey to Everest Base Camp, which is only an hour and a half away from Gorakshep. If you’re feeling tired, take your time and go slowly. The trail to base camp is moderate and also formed by melting glaciers, which makes it unstable. Everest Base Camp is located just before the Khumbu icefall area, where all expeditions set up their tents. However, due to the rapid melting of glaciers caused by global warming, the area is unstable.

When you finally reach Everest Base Camp, a big congratulations! It’s not just any base camp, but the highest base camp in the world, situated over 5,364m above sea level. It’s a dream destination for adventure enthusiasts, nature lovers, and mountain enthusiasts alike. Take some pictures and enjoy the moment.

After this huge achievement, you will head back to Gorakshep for an overnight stay. Take a moment to enjoy your success.

Early morning you will start your hike to Kalapatthar to catch a stunning view of sunrise over Mount Everest. It will take around 2-3 hours to reach the top. Once again another milestone as you reached the highest point at 5,545m above sea level. Take photos and return down to Gorakshep.

After returning, a helicopter ride is arranged back to Lukla, so be sure to thank our porters before you leave. They’re essential parts of the success of your trip.

The helicopter flight to Lukla takes only 15 to 20 minutes. While the package is designed with a one-way helicopter ride and a one-way domestic air ticket, you have the option to use the helicopter ride both ways as well with an additional cost.

During peak season Lukla flights are operated from Ramechhap. Therefore, we will most likely fly to Ramechhap from Lukla, which takes only 20 minutes. From Ramechhap, we will provide you with our private vehicle for the 5-hour drive to Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel.

As a token of appreciation for your journey with us, we are delighted to offer you a farewell dinner at a reputable Nepali restaurant in the evening. We value your feedback, both positive and negative, as it helps us to improve our service and strive towards greater dedication.

We always ask our guests to have at least one day extra for the Luxury Everest Base Camp trek. Lukla’s weather is unpredictable. If the weather becomes worse and can’t have a flight in time, at least an extra day will be useful. If everything goes normal then you can have a free day in Kathmandu. You can explore Kathmandu city on this day. There are many world heritage sites in Kathmandu Valley. We can help you to arrange a day tour in Kathmandu.

The Monkey Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Buddha Stupa, Patan Durbar Square, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square are world heritage sites from Kathmandu valley where you can witness medieval Nepal history.

Lastly, we will ensure that you arrive at the airport on time for your scheduled flight. We hope that your memories of Nepal and the Everest base camp trek will be cherished and that you will recommend this adventure to your friends. Thank you for choosing us as your travel partner.

Have a wonderful journey ahead.

Thank you so much.

Luxury Treks in Nepal

Luxury Treks in Nepal

Last Updated on July 17, 2022 by Alpha Adventure Treks

Most of us believe that hiking is just for intrepid travelers and lacks opulent amenities. Luxury trekking in Nepal is an option if you have a higher budget and wish to see the Himalayas in relative luxury. Luxury trekking in Nepal offers the greatest luxury lodges for trekking and luxury hotels for Kathmandu , making it an amazing lifelong experience. Not all of Nepal’s trekking regions have luxury lodges, but several of the Annapurna and E verest trekking regions do have the best luxury lodge accommodations for hikers who want to enjoy their journey in comfort.

Our luxury trekking itinerary for Nepal is expertly and meticulously planned, and it is completely customizable and changeable as needed. Our knowledgeable Local Sherpa Travel Consultants, who are all devoted Sherpa guides, collaborate closely with you or your travel specialist to create a holiday of a lifetime. You may have heard about luxury city travel packages that included excursions inside Kathmandu, Chitwan , and Pokhara in a luxury vehicle that might stay in a five-star hotel. A luxury trekking tour, on the other hand, is a relatively new concept in which trekkers travel along the same or a different trekking trail during the day but spend the night in luxurious lodges.

Table of Contents

What makes a luxury trekking trip in Nepal different from a standard trekking package?

Regular trek packages include standard lodging while trekking with a shared bathroom without a hot shower, but luxury lodge trek packages include rooms with attached bathrooms, hot showers, electric blankets, and more comfortable beds, and all luxury lodges are much higher standard in terms of hygienic meals, quality of service, as well as quality of rooms, beds, and other amenities. Of course, luxury trekking in Nepal also included top-tier luxury hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara, so level of service is much higher.

Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek:

One of the most opulent treks you can take is the luxury Everest Base Camp trek, which takes you to the base camp of Mount Everest and gives you the chance to stay in some of the greatest and most affluent hotels in Kathmandu and the Everest Khumbu region. Trekkers can see various flora and fauna inside the Sagarmatha National Park, with the Himalayan ranges’ spectacular scenery featuring some of the world’s highest peaks, while lodging in the finest luxury lodges during the trip. Coverage at its greatest: 107 km (LUKLA- PHAKDING- NAMCHE- DEBOCHE- PHERICHE- LOBUCHE- EBC- KALAPATHAR- PHERICHE- NAMCHE- LUKLA) Additionally, you’ll be able to see Mount Lhotse (8516m), Mount Nuptse (7855m), Mount Pumori (7161m), Mount Changaste (7550m), Mount Amadablam (6856m), Mount Thamserku (6723m), Mount Kantega (6685m), Mount Kusum Khagaru (6367m), Mount Kongde (6011m), Mount Khumbila (5761m), Mount Twache peak (6376m).  These are a few of the notable mountain peaks you will see on your luxurious adventure.

Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek: Cost

The closest one can go to climbing Mount Everest without doing so is by hiking up to its base camp. And getting to base camp by hiking is much less expensive than climbing Everest. There isn’t a set price for the Everest Base Camp Trek. The price of the trip would range from $2099 to $4500, depending on the route, the outfitter, and the amenities they provided. The cost of the opulent trekking package and the helicopter return will be slightly more than the cost of the normal packages. The price will increase to $4500 if you would want to return back from the helicopter back to Kathmandu.

Annapurna Base Camp Luxury Trek:

Take a stroll through the Annapurna Himalayan foothills for a quick, leisurely, and pleasant adventure. A recently created luxury Annapurna trip concept gives you the ideal introduction to the Nepal Himalayan foothills. The most well-known and short trekking route in Nepal’s Annapurna region is the Luxury Annapurna view trek. During this journey, you will spend every night in the finest, most luxurious, and comfortable lodges as well as in comfortable top-rated five-star hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara. By staying at some of the top lodges in the region, a luxury Annapurna trek is an easy to moderate hike. This trip begins at Phedi and concludes at Hille after a scenic drive of thirty minutes from the lovely city of Pokhara. Additionally, hikers will travel through the Annapurna Conservation Area’s resplendent backwoods of rhododendron woodland, which is home to tree orchids, stunning magnolias, and a variety of monkey, deer, and bird species.

Annapurna Base Camp Luxury Trek: Cost

The approximate cost of an 11–13-day luxury trek to Annapurna base camp is $1900. However, this is only a suggestion; the price will vary depending on the services you select and the providers you use. The ideal option for trekkers is always to choose local service providers because no matter what you decide, you will ultimately go on the trip with a local company. Because of the poor service standards that result, it is always preferable for trekkers to choose a local agency.

What season offers the greatest luxury trekking in Nepal?

In Nepal, you will experience something fresh every month, day, and instant. Therefore, there is no set season or time of year to visit Nepal. Instead, every month is distinct in its own way. Nevertheless, the spring (March to May) and the fall (September to November) would be beautiful seasons in the mountain foothills among the four seasons that Nepal experiences for the luxury trekking in Nepal. Amazing steep-sided hills turn vibrant in the spring with a profusion of blossoming spring flowers, including rhododendrons. However, there is only a very little risk of rain or a waterfall, and the environment and weather are both stable.

Conclusion:

Experience the most of Nepal’s natural beauty while trekking in elegance and comfort. For those who love their excursions in luxury, these opulent treks are ideal. You will enjoy outstanding Nepalese hospitality while staying in top-notch hotels and trekking lodges. The lodges where you will stay offer the best amenities, including beautifully landscaped gardens, cozy sitting areas, and happy hours. A really luxurious trekking experience is discovering Nepal’s stunning wilderness areas while enjoying all the conveniences of home.

Luxury trekking in Nepal’s Annapurna Himalayas

On foot along ancient winding paths linking isolated rural villages, you’ll find jaw-dropping mountain scenery

About our private treks in Nepal’s Himalayas

On foot through isolated rural villages of Nepal’s Annapurna Himalaya, you’ll find epic mountain scenery and spend the nights in small civilized lodges.

Nepal is a walker’s paradise. Trekking used to be the preserve of the hardy who were prepared to rough it in tents, but in the foothills of the Annapurna you can walk all day with breathtaking views of some of the highest peaks in the Himalaya knowing that there is a cosy bed to collapse in at the end of the day. Four comfortable lodges are conveniently located five hours walk apart within the Annapurna Conservation Area and treks can include just one or a combination of lodges.

The landscape and scenery here is what many visualise when they imagine the Himalaya – brilliant green terraces of rice and barley, fields ploughed by buffalo, pretty hillside villages of thatched houses and dry stone walls, forests of oak and rhododendrons that burst into colour in spring, all against a backdrop of towering snow-capped mountains.

Along the way you will share your path with local hill peoples, passing by on trails trodden for centuries by traders and pilgrims between yak pastures and villages, temples and holy lakes. Sustained by hearty snacks provided by the lodge to keep you going, there’s no rush to reach the next one and plenty of time to visit villages, photograph the scenery and soak up the spirit of the mountains.

BEST TIME TO TREK ANNAPURNA HIMALAYAS

Late autumn and early spring are the best times to visit the Annapurna Himalaya and when heading out on foot it’s best to visit at a time of stable temperatures, good weather conditions and panoramic views.

Weather conditions in spring – March to the start of May – are also good, though Annapurna can be very cold in early March especially at night. Colourful forest trails climb through rhododendrons in bloom and wild flowers emerging as the season advances.

You should also avoid trekking in the summer monsoon season from June to August. Wet, unstable trails and even floods may occur as a result of the heavy rainfall, and it’s rare to have a good view of the mountains.

Himalayan Trekking (FAQs) Need to Know

Do i need to have a reasonable level of fitness to trek the himalayas.

You don’t need to be super fit to enjoy our walks and treks as we can design your trip around your ability. With your personal guide by your side, you walk at your own pace.

For anyone in good health we can recommend many excellent relatively easy day walks along rural trails used by villagers and children, across fields and hillsides to reach farms and schools, often still with fabulous views.

Of course, we can suggest more challenging multi-day treks too. If you’re interested in multi-day treks, we always recommend you begin a programme of regular exercise at least two months prior to your holiday.

Trip Description

The Annapurna Luxury Lodge Trek is one of the newest walking treks in the Annapurna area. It is an ideal introduction to hiking in Nepal in a luxurious way. I can't say enough about our friendly knowledgeable local guide Hari who lead us on our 10 day trekking adventure to ABC, as well as the professional, friendly service provided by Trekking Team Group from our first meeting. We were able to discuss and arrange all the important details of our trek within a day of our arrival to Kathmandu. The next day we were off and trekking. The company was very professional, and arranged all of the logistics for us as we had requested, without any pressure to amend our plans. We were able to relax and enjoy the experience and the beautiful Himalaya at our own pace. It was wonderful and I will definitely request their services again on my next (I'm certain) visit to Nepal.

We had a a really great time on our trek, excellent views and comfortable accomodation all round. Our guide, Hari, was very knolwedgeable and friendly. As it was our first ten day trek, we were a little cautious of the Winter weather and the high altitude, but with a bit of luck (no snow!) and an attentive guide, we felt very at ease. I decided to take a poter later down the road and Hari also helped organised a reliable and friendly gentleman to join us. The Trekking Team Group also help organise donations to a local Secondary School in need of stationary and school supplies, through a great charity called 'Pack for a Purpose'. It's worth checking out if you have some space in your backpack before leaving Kathmandu, all very organised and an easy way to support the community. Thank you for an enjoyeable experience!

Sep 25 2016

We've been doing the Annapurna panorama trek with Trekking Team Group and we were very happy with our experience. Our guide, Bir, really took his time to tailor the trip to our needs. We had to change the itinerary halfway because of the weather conditions. Also his several anecdotes about the landscapes, fauna and flora, etc. were really interesting and helpful and allowed us to enjoy our trip even more. Furthermore their ecological way of traveling seems to be unique, we didn't have to buy any (expensive) water bottles because we got to purify them in less than a minute by UV. Of course, there's always room for improvement. First, our polite and enjoyable porter named Babu, didn't wear the appropriate shoes for the trekking. On his flip-flops he carried our backpack for six days. And yes he did excellent, and yes he often walked faster than us (!), but we didn't feel right about this. When we came across leeches, his feet were bleeding. When I addressed this matter to Bir, he said that 'They didn't knew this and if he had said this to them in advance, they would have given him appropriate shoes.' This is not right, you can not expect from a porter to give that information in advance (btw Bir knows Babu now for 4 years), it's the agencies' responsibility to make sure all their members have appropriate clothing and footwear. Idea for anybody who wants to do a trekking: there are companies who rent clothing and shoes for porters. Sadly enough we knew this too late. Another issue is the slight male dominance present during the trekking. Some 'important questions' like "Would you like to drink some local alcohol-based drink?" or "What do you think, do we walk further to the next town or..?" were mostly only addressed to my boyfriend, while I was sitting next to him. Not a nice feeling, being a woman. Overall, our trekking was a nice 6-day trip through jungle, forest, villages and beautiful landscapes with waterfalls en rivers. Our company, Bir and Babu, were also very enjoyable and we had a lot of fun together (playing games in de lodges for instance). Bir is a responsable guide and has so much knowledge about and experience with trekking, the mountains,... His boss from Trekking Team Group called him several times to make sure our team's health and atmosphere were ok. Definitely an agency and guide we recommend.

Additional information.

This is ADVENTURE travel, and many of the trip destinations in this site are remote areas, within under developed countries, where events are less predictable than is usually the case in. The unexpected is the norm in these areas and, despite painstaking planning and organization, our adventure trips can never be taken for granted like regular trips. Many of the places that we visit do not have the same quality of emergency health and safety services that you are used to in the developed world. Internal flights can be canceled, road transport is generally uncomfortable and unreliable, and hotels often do not approach the standards of the West.

IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED FOR THIS, YOU SHOULD NOT TRAVEL WITH US. This unpredictability also means that the itineraries that we put forward for each of our trips should be seen as statements of intent, rather than as contractual obligations. A variety of factors, including weather, transport difficulties and political instability, might dictate that we change any itinerary. The trip leader will make any changes that are necessary, after consultation with the group. Only rarely will such changes be significant, and we will always do everything within our powers to minimize the effects of the enforced changes. We cannot be held responsible for the results of changes or delays, irrespective of how they are caused.

Best Time for the Luxury Treks in Nepal

October and november.

October and November are the autumn seasons in Nepal with the highest number of trekkers and visitors to the Himalayan region. Because of favorable weather and astonishing view of the snow-capped peaks, visitors or trekkers prefer this season. Autumn is the season before the heavy snowfall and generally the best time to enter the Himalayas. There are very few chances of rainfall. In Autumn, the trekking routes in Nepal such as Everest Base Camp Trek, Annapurna base camp trek, Annapurna circuit trek, Gokyo Everest base camp trek, are heavily crowded. Annapurna region and Everest Region and accommodation facilitators are the most crowded. Also, the temperature is neither hot nor cold and is highly suitable for the trek.

March to May

These months are the next popular season for the trek to the Himalayas after Autumn. The time in March to May is the spring season in Nepal which is also regarded as the season of colors. The trek will lead you to the diverse vegetation. You will witness several kinds of Nepalese flowers including the national flower of Nepal Rhododendron. The weather remains quite stable and the humidity in the air is less. You will be pleased to walk around the beautiful village witnessing the majestic view of the high Himalayas. However, the trails may be crowded but regarding the accommodation, pre-booking is necessary.

June to August

This is the monsoon season in Nepal where Monsoon starts in Mid-June and lasts till early September. Monsoon in Nepal is harsh so it is often an off trekking season to the Himalayas in Nepal. Paths to the Himalayas are more slippery and tougher. Unpredictable climate and heavy rain make walking dangerous. High fog and cloudy environments may cause a disturbance with the observation of the peaks.

December to January

These are winter months in Nepal where the high mountains are covered in snow and the sky is clear blue presenting the stunning view of nature. The chances of rainfall in winter are relatively low. The trekkers will be able to enjoy the obstructed view of the entire Himalayan ranges. The lodges, roads, and teahouses are less crowded compared to the peak season. However, winter is Nepal’s coldest dry period. Chilly cold wind, heavy snowfalls, and heavy low temperatures make almost everything freeze in the Himalayas. Trekking in this period is a little tough and challenging. However, trekkers can make their way to the lower Himalayan land.

Likewise, one might be worried about the electricity facility in extreme altitudes but to top off anybody’s expectation on Nepal Himalayas, You will be getting absolute electricity to charge your camera/smartphone while having access to network signals as well wifi. Similarly, the Comfort Lodge Hike mainly includes the Everest Comfort Lodge Trek, Kongde Luxury Trek, Annapurna Comfort Lodge Trek, and Thame Legendary Comfort Trek. The amazing Comfort Lodge Trek can be considered a new category of trekking where one can exclude certain tiresome endeavors which others would definitely have to face and go through in the normal types of trekking. In this standard luxury trekking, the regions like Annapurna and Everest have couples of the finest luxury lodges for hikers where there is no need for sleeping bags and camping tools. The latest development in the Himalayas of the country has given the push for the emergence of Comfort Lodge Trekking. Currently, hiking lodges have also been popping up in the Upper Mustang trekking areas. We refer to this new breed of trekking lodges in Nepal as comfort lodges. In addition to that, the basic rule in comfort lodge travel is to offer comfortable bedrooms with the proper maintenance of the guest’s privacy in a comparatively comforting way than a simple tea house.

Likely that, the Bedroom includes the plug points and electricity for the lighting. Things like sleeping bags are not required though it’s a trekking endeavor. Entire rooms include hot showers, hand basins as well as flushing toilets. The lodges do include a lounge area, dining room, and sometimes even a bar. There are also private gardens in some which are in spectacular locations with gorgeous views according to the Comfort Lodge trekking Season. You are offered the best customer service as well as meals compared to a basic lodge. However, even in luxury trekking lodges, there are certain limitations because of the location's main heating. Due to the limited power supply, most bedrooms do not have any heating source in the high Himalayas. During the night there will be an electric blanket and you will be provided with a hot water bottle as well as in the public areas you will be offered the fire/stove. These comfort lodges are surely as luxurious as a lodge can be in the Himalayas.

A Guide to Luxury Accommodations on the Everest Base Camp Trek

I n the heart of the majestic Himalayas, nestled amidst towering peaks and rugged landscapes, lies an unexpected oasis of comfort: luxury accommodations designed for discerning trekkers. The Everest Base Camp (EBC) trek, renowned globally as one of the most iconic hiking journeys, has traditionally evoked images of rustic teahouses and basic amenities. However, in recent years, this rugged trail has witnessed a harmonious blend of raw adventure with indulgent luxury.

The concept of "luxury" in the remote stretches of the Himalayas might seem paradoxical. But it is precisely this juxtaposition—of opulent lodges against the backdrop of raw, untouched nature—that creates an unparalleled trekking experience. Imagine wrapping up a challenging day of trekking with a hot shower, a gourmet meal, and a plush bed awaiting you, all while being surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of snow-capped peaks.

This transformation of the EBC trekking experience has not only redefined comfort in the mountains but has also expanded the trek's appeal to a wider audience. Those who thought of basic accommodations may have once been deterred are now enticed by the promise of luxury in the lap of Everest.

In this guide, we'll journey through the evolution of accommodations in the Everest region, uncover the unique features of these luxury havens, and help you decide if this elevated trekking experience is the right fit for your next adventure. Welcome to the fusion of grandeur and comfort at the roof of the world.

Evolution of Accommodations in the Everest Region:

The narrative of accommodations in the Everest region is one of profound transformation from humble beginnings to the rise of contemporary luxury havens.

1. Humble Beginnings:

The early days of Everest exploration saw adventurers setting up camp in tents, braving the raw elements of the Himalayas. These initial expeditions were not about comfort; they were about survival, adventure, and the relentless pursuit of summiting the world's tallest peak. As trekking gained popularity in the latter half of the 20th century, the local Sherpa community began to recognize the potential for tourism. The first teahouses emerged: simple, rustic lodgings, often just an extension of a family home, where trekkers could find shelter, warmth, and basic meals.

2. The Rise of Traditional Teahouses:

As more adventurers flocked to the region, the demand for accommodations grew. Traditional teahouses began dotting the trail, offering trekkers a blend of basic amenities and a taste of authentic Sherpa hospitality. Wooden beds, communal dining areas, and basic washrooms became standard. These teahouses, while basic, provided trekkers with invaluable insights into local life and culture.

3. Meeting the Demand for Comfort:

By the turn of the millennium, the profile of the average Everest Base Camp trekker began to change. While many still sought the raw, unfiltered experience of the Himalayas, there was a growing segment of trekkers desiring more comfort during their journey. Recognizing this shift, some entrepreneurs in the region started upgrading their facilities, offering private rooms, improved dining options, and better sanitation facilities.

4. Emergence of Luxury Lodges:

The past decade has witnessed the most significant transformation in accommodations. International and local investors saw an opportunity to provide a high-end experience in the heart of the mountains. Luxury lodges started to emerge, redefining the trekking experience. These establishments, while offering world-class comforts, also made it a point to remain eco-friendly and culturally sensitive. Using local architectural styles, renewable energy sources, and employing residents from nearby villages, they managed to combine luxury with sustainability.

5. Today's Landscape:

Now, trekkers have a broad spectrum of choices. From the traditional teahouse that offers a nostalgic feel of the early trekking days to the luxury lodge that ensures optimal comfort, the Everest region caters to every preference and budget. This evolution not only reflects the changing dynamics of tourism but also the adaptability and entrepreneurial spirit of the local community, ensuring that the legacy of hospitality in the Everest region remains as enduring as the mountains themselves.

Key Features of Luxury Accommodations on the Everest Base Camp Trek:

Trekking in the Everest region has always promised breathtaking vistas, challenging terrains, and a profound sense of achievement. Now, thanks to the rise of luxury lodgings, it also guarantees a remarkable level of comfort. But what exactly sets these upscale accommodations apart from their traditional counterparts? Here's a detailed look at the hallmark features:

1. Architectural Excellence:

Many luxury lodges have been meticulously designed to blend with the natural surroundings harmoniously. Built using local materials, they often incorporate traditional Sherpa architectural elements, ensuring they do not detract from the region's charm. Yet, inside, they boast contemporary design features, offering a fusion of local aesthetics and modern comfort.

2. Spacious Rooms with Upscale Furnishings:

Forget about cramped spaces! These accommodations pride themselves on providing spacious rooms equipped with plush beds, high-quality linens, and elegant furniture. Many rooms also offer large windows or even private balconies, ensuring trekkers can soak in those mountain views even from the comfort of their beds.

3. Ensuite Bathrooms with Modern Amenities:

One of the most cherished features among trekkers is the luxury of an ensuite bathroom. Equipped with modern plumbing, hot showers, and high-end toiletries, these bathrooms ensure guests can refresh and rejuvenate after a long day's trek.

4. Gourmet Dining:

The culinary experiences at luxury lodges are a class apart. With professional chefs at the helm, these establishments offer a diverse menu that spans local delicacies and international cuisines. Whether you're savoring traditional Sherpa stew or indulging in a Western-style three-course meal, the focus is always on taste, nutrition, and presentation.

5. Wellness and Relaxation:

Many luxury lodges have incorporated wellness facilities, understanding that trekking can be strenuous on the body. From in-house spas offering therapeutic massages to saunas and steam rooms for relaxation, these amenities help trekkers recharge both physically and mentally.

6. Tech Amenities:

Connectivity and technology are also a priority. High-speed Wi-Fi, satellite televisions in communal areas, and reliable electricity for charging gadgets are typical features. This ensures trekkers stay connected, whether it's for sharing updates with loved ones or just unwinding with some entertainment.

7. Personalized Services:

Luxury accommodations often go above and beyond to cater to individual needs. From arranging special dietary meals to organizing private cultural experiences, their focus is on delivering a tailored experience for every guest.

In essence, luxury accommodations in the Everest region are all about enhancing the trekking journey, ensuring that trekkers can fully immerse themselves in the breathtaking surroundings without compromising on comfort or convenience. These establishments have indeed redefined what it means to trek in luxury at the roof of the world.

Benefits of Opting for Luxury Accommodations on the Everest Base Camp Trek:

Embracing the allure of the Himalayas doesn't mean one must forsake comfort. Luxury accommodations along the Everest Base Camp trail have risen to prominence, offering trekkers a unique blend of adventure and indulgence. But why would one consider this opulent option? Here's a deeper look into the manifold benefits:

1. Enhanced Recovery:

Trekking can be physically taxing, especially at high altitudes. Luxury lodgings, with their plush beds, heated rooms, and hot showers, ensure that trekkers can adequately rest and recover. A rejuvenated body is more equipped to tackle the trail, enhancing overall trekking performance and enjoyment.

2. Reduced Risk of Altitude Sickness:

A good night's sleep is crucial when acclimatizing to higher altitudes. The superior comfort offered by luxury accommodations can help trekkers sleep better, thereby reducing the risk of altitude-related ailments.

3. Culinary Delights:

With gourmet dining options, trekkers have ensured a delicious and nutritious meal that caters to their heightened energy needs. Such meals not only satiate hunger but also become a memorable part of the journey, celebrating both local and global cuisines.

4. Cultural Immersion with Comfort:

Many luxury lodges are designed to reflect local architecture and traditions. This allows trekkers to experience Sherpa culture intimately without stepping out of their comfort zone. Events like local dance performances or storytelling sessions further enrich the cultural experience.

5. Wellness and Mental Well-being:

The wellness amenities, like spas and saunas, not only provide physical relief but also cater to mental well-being. In the serenity of the mountains, these facilities offer a space for relaxation and introspection, enhancing the holistic trekking experience.

6. Safety and Security:

Luxury accommodations often come with advanced safety measures. Whether it's ensuring purified drinking water or providing medical kits with oxygen cylinders, these lodgings prioritize the well-being of their guests.

7. Environmental Responsibility:

A surprising benefit of many luxury lodges is their commitment to sustainability. By leveraging renewable energy sources, minimizing waste, and focusing on eco-friendly practices, they allow trekkers to enjoy the region responsibly.

8. Personalized Experience:

The smaller size and exclusive nature of luxury accommodations mean trekkers receive personalized attention. Whether it's customizing meals, arranging private excursions, or getting insights into the region from knowledgeable staff, the experience becomes more tailored and memorable.

In conclusion, luxury accommodations on the Everest Base Camp trek don't merely offer a place to sleep; they elevate the entire trekking journey. By seamlessly blending comfort with the ruggedness of the trail, they ensure that trekkers can savor every moment of their Himalayan adventure, making it as enriching as it is exhilarating.
