After breakfast this morning we will continue to Bouctouche, NB to visit Pays de le Sagouine – meaning “the country of the washerwoman”. This eclectic reproduction of a prohibition era Acadian Fishing Village was inspired by the international award winning novelist, Antoinne Maillet. While here, we’ll enjoy a traditional Acadian meal. This afternoon we visit the Anne Murray Centre in Springhill, before continuing our journey to Halifax where we will check in to the Barrington Hotel for three nights. This evening will be free to explore the downtown area and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant on your own.

Day 4 | Saturday, August 10 – Lunenburg & Peggy’s Cove (B)

In the afternoon we’ll spend some free time exploring the picturesque seaside town of Lunenburg – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Later this afternoon we will return to Halifax where we will have more free time to enjoy the city and have dinner on our own.

Day 5 | Sunday, August 11 – Halifax, NS (B,D)

We’ll start our day exploring the local sights in the heart of Halifax. Highlights include the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic and the beautiful Fairview Lawn Cemetery where more than 150 victims of the Titanic are buried. We will visit the Halifax Seaport Farmers market where you can get lunch on your own and explore the many shops and stalls. Enjoy some free time prior to our “Taste of Nova Scotia Dinner Cruise” in the Halifax harbour this evening. Hear noteworthy commentary as you pass by prominent Halifax landmarks!

Day 6 | Monday, August 12 – Halifax, NS to Baddeck, NS (B, L, D)

We say farewell to Halifax this morning as we travel to Baddeck in Cape Breton. We will stop along the way for an included lunch. The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure to rest up or explore the area at the hotel. Tonight we enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and then experience a true Cape Breton Ceilidh. Bring your dancing shoes and sing along!

Day 7 | Tuesday, August 13 – Cabot Trail to Stellarton, NS (B, L)

Today we get to experience one of Canada’s most famous roadways – The Cabot Trail. A local step-on guide will provide commentary as we travel along one of the most scenic drives in the world. There will be plenty of stops along the way for photo opportunities and to stretch your legs. Lunch will also be provided along the route today. Tonight’ll have time for dinner (on your own) in Antigonish before finishing our day in Stellarton where we will stay the night.

Day 8 | Wednesday, August 14 – Stellarton, NS to Charlottetown, PEI (B, L)

After breakfast, we will depart Stellarton for Prince Edward Island. We’ll board the ferry for the 75 minute crossing of the Northumberland Strait. Day 10 | Friday, August 16 – Charlottetown, PEI to Miramichi, NB (B, L, D)

Today we bid farewell to PEI and travel back to the mainland over the Confederation Bridge. Once back on the mainland. We continue our journey through New Brunswick this morning when we travel to the Bay of Fundy to walk the ocean floor at Hopewell Rocks. The Bay of Fundy is home to the highest tides in the world. We enjoy an early lunch at the High Tides Cafe before continuing on to Nova Scotia. After lunch we’ll visit Olivier Soapery for a lively and entertaining demonstration of traditional soap making. This evening we will check into our hotel in Miramichi, followed by an included dinner.

Day 11 | Saturday, August 17 – Miramichi, NB to Quebec City, QC (B)

Tour Starting Point:  Fredericton, New Brunswick

Tour Finishing Point: Moncton, New Brunswick

Visit the Highest Tides on Earth

The sandstone Hopewell Rocks guard the Bay of Fundy like top-heavy Dr. Seuss soldiers. These red cliffs were part of a massive mountain range millions of years ago that were older than the Appalachians and larger than the Canadian Rockies. Erosion did its best work here! Around the world, the tides change by an average of 3ft, but the Hopewell Rocks get hit with changes of up to 50ft, the height of a four-story building!

When the tide is out, walk the ocean floor, touch the striations of the “flower pots,” (so called for the greenery that clings to their tops) and stand beside dinosaur fossils. When the tide comes in, climb the stairs, breathe in the salty sea air, watch kayaks paddle about and trollers come and go, and take a picture of the 2.5 million shorebirds that arrive in July on their journey south!

Party in the Kitchen

Immerse yourself in Miramichi tradition and step into the kitchen for some interactive singing, storytelling, and great desserts!

Cruising for Lobsters

Get a closer look at Acadian culture and discover all there is to know about lobsters, with a Shediac Bay Lobster Cruise with Captain Ron. Learn the old fishing techniques that lobster fishermen have perfected over the years and taste the bounty of the ocean.

Take the Scenic Route

Travel the Cabot Trail , Canada’s most breathtaking and photographed drive. Lead by a local guide, experience lush glens, white gypsum bluffs and headlands pounded by surf.  Seldom far from the sea, always breathtakingly lovely the trail is at its best in September and October when the highlands are bright with autumn colours. End your relaxing ride at Cape Breton Highlands National Park.

Visit a UNESCO World Heritage Site

The colourful town of Lunenburg sits snug on the shore of southern Nova Scotia. Named the most beautiful small town in Canada, see original colonial buildings, their facades freshly-painted in candy apple red, cobalt, and lemon. The past has been preserved here like a museum.

A guided walking tour of Lunenburg starts at the Academy and finishes at the Fisherman’s Memorial . As you stroll, you might hear a blacksmith’s hammer echo through the streets from the wharf, or possibly see the iconic Bluenose II which is sometimes anchored there.

Enjoy a Feast in a Fortress

The Halifax Citadel is a National Historic Site of Canada and played a key role in the growth of Halifax and Canada.  Originally built as a military fortification to protect the British from enemies, the Citadel now watches over the city's downtown and serves as a reminder of Halifax's past. After your tour of the Citadel, enjoy dinner in one of the historically converted rooms surrounded by beautiful high brick walls, period paintings and fine woodwork.

Why This Tour is Great

It’s all about the people … You will feel like family

Welcome to the kitchen party!  Appreciate the energy and sense of fun in the music and feel a personal connection to moments in Canada’s history through the stories.  Although the vistas are spectacular, it will be the experiences with the people: their hospitality, culture, music, food, and stories that will be featured in your memories of the Maritimes.

Get Acquainted with Several Special Canadian Cities

Enjoy guided tours of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Charlottetown, P.E.I., Halifax, Nova Scotia, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, and with the 15-day option, Québec City, Québec, exploring the settings where history was made and stories are told.  Four of these cities are provincial capitals, and Lunenburg is a UNESCO World Heritage Centre.

Choice in Arrival

For guests who prefer to fly, as opposed to journeying by motorcoach, arrangements can be made for you to join the group in Fredericton, New Brunswick, and depart from Moncton, New Brunswick.

10 or 15 Days?

By taking the 15-day tour, you will experience these additional highlights: the covered bridge in Hartland, NB, Guided Tour of Québec City, a free day to explore Québec City, and Sucrerie de la Montagne.

Enhance Your Trip

Join a guided walking tour of Saint John showcasing the history and local flavors of this city by the Bay of Fundy. Your journey begins with a visit to Saint John City Market, the oldest continuing farmer’s market in Canada and a National Historic Site. While most merchants will be closing up shop by the afternoon, take this chance to soak in the scene inside this grand market building – plus, sample local ciders and wines paired with market charcuterie. Leaving the market, make your way downhill into the heart of the city as your guide shares stories that bring Saint John’s history to life. Stop to taste the beers that made Canada famous and seafood chowder made with the day’s fresh catch. Finally, visit an ale house in Market Square to try fresh brews paired with delicious local smoked fish. Your walking tour ends at the lively boardwalk by your hotel.

Take a ferry ride to Prince Edward Island, the "Land Cradled on the Waves."

Via Railway Experience|5-Day Vancouver to Rockies Railway Full Experience Tour Departure

We enjoyed our tour very much, the sights were beautiful, staff we well informed. A highlight for us was the optional evening photographic tour. The only thing stopping me from giving five stars was the last day felt very rushed, especially at the Banff gondola as the queue to get on took half an hour and not enough time allocated to our lunch at the Lake Louise Chateau, we had to ask the waitress to bring out the dessert while we were eating the main as we only had 15 minutes until the bus left. Allocate a bit more time for those things and you will get five stars.

The guide was very thoughtful knowledgeable and attentive. I loved what I saw. only complaints would be with some of the accommodations. Im very glad we had someone to handle our bags. the best one was Royal Scot. the one in Banff was too remote and didn’t include decent dining options. the same iin Lake Jasper, although they overcharged for a simple breakfast because there were few options. 18 Cad for breakfast and they wouldn’t spring for real Maple syrup? anyway the tour was awesome. many thx to our guide and driver
