Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds have confirmed they will be going on an arena tour around the UK in 2023.

The group will kick off the tour on 30 th August at Hull’s Bonus Arena, before stopping off at Birmingham, Cardiff, Leeds, Glasgow and finishing up at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena on 21 st December.

Tickets for the upcoming tour will go on general sale at 9am on Friday 31 st March and you can find out more information here . Fans can also access a pre-sale on Wednesday 29 th March if they pre-order Council Skies via the official Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds store .

Last week, Noel shared his latest single from the album, Dead To The World, which he said was his “favourite tune on the album”.

Speaking about the track, he added: “It’s not like anything else I’ve ever done before. It’s very melancholic, but I like that. I’m a Gemini – I’m as up as I am down, and the trick is to meet somewhere in the middle and turn that into music.”

This comes after rumours have been flying that Oasis might be getting back together .

Liam Gallagher was asked by a fan whether he could see the group reforming earlier this month and he responded: “It’s happening”.

However, Noel had something different to say and when asked the same during an interview, he said: “There’s something in the papers back in England today. “Yeah, I understand it, yeah. No one has really come along to take our place."

He continued: "He should get his people to call my people; they know who they are, they know where we are. Stop talking on the f*****g internet, and let’s see what you’ve got to say."

Live Review: Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds – 28th July 2023 – South Facing Festival, Crystal Palace Bowl, London, UK

noel gallagher tour uk

Only a Gallagher could curse and insult his fans and it be considered a charming gesture by those in the firing line. While moments during last night’s show by proud Manchurian and Brit-Pop icon Noel Gallagher and his world famous High Flying Birds could leave an unfamiliar attendee with raised eyebrows, the fans at South Facing Festivals latest outdoor event in the leafy surroundings of Crystal Palace Bowl were happy to lap up any words that fell from their grumpy-yet-charismatic rock idol’s mouth. Fresh from a stint touring the US, Gallagher and co made a triumphant return to the UK to promote the legends latest studio album, Council Skies for fans that were there in equal measures for the recent penning’s by the Oasis hitmaker as they were for the hits from his former band phenomena.

Building the set in almost two equal parts, the first half was focused purely on material from his latest release with Pretty Boy and Council Skies cracking a lid on the breezy outdoor show; flashing images of clouds and industrial landscapes appearing on the screens that served as a backdrop to Gallagher and his cohesive band. Open The Door, See What You Find was flavoured with not just a Mama’s and Papas/flower power-esque 70’s seasoning, but this vibe was also magnified through the dozens of colourful flower bunches positioned over the stage with Gallagher confirming ahead of the song, “This next song is not Supersonic “.

noel gallagher tour uk

As much as the new songs from new album Council Skies , and those from previous back catalogue albums were met with approval from the audience, the Oasis hits making up the latter 3 rd or so of the set were the ones the fans wee obviously there the most for with the likes of The Importance Of Being Idle, The Masterplan and Little By Little all providing a nostalgic injection of gritty yet still fresh sounding Oasis repertoire.

After a punch cover of Bob Dylan’s Quinn the Eskimo (The Mighty Quinn) , Gallagher offered us stellar versions of Live Forever and Gallagher-sun Oasis signature hit, Don’t Look Back in Anger which had the phones of almost ever fan in the outdoor space up in the air and swaying along to the superstar as he ushered out an absolutely phenomenal night and memorable addition to this year’s South Facing Festival.

NOEL and Liam Gallagher are said to have secretly booked three dates at Wembley Arena for their Oasis reunion tour this year.

Recently, there has been a lot of talk about a thawing of relations between the brothers and a potential reunion gig.

Noel and Liam Gallagher 'booked three dates' at Wembley Arena this year

And now it's been revealed that the pair were very close to repairing their rift after they booked to finally take the stage together at the London stadium on July 8, 9 and 10.

But unfortunately the gigs won't be going ahead this summer after it was reportedly "cancelled".

“An Oasis reunion has been hoped for for years. This year would have been the big moment, 30 years on from their debut album Definitely Maybe," a source told the Mirror .

“But until now, no one has known how close Liam and Noel came to making it a reality. It doesn’t get much closer than booking Wembley, and their teams were devastated when it all collapsed yet again.

“But the fact they made it to that point shows there’s a will on both sides. The hope is it will be a case of not if, but when.”

Liam and Noel  famously fell out in 2009  bringing their band Oasis to an end - with Noel quitting hours before the band were due to perform on stage.

At the time, he released a statement saying that he could no longer work with his brother.

Throughout the years, the brothers have subsequently taken aim at each other via headlines, interviews and social media.

In October 2023, it was revealed that Liam would embark on a major stadium tour - with or without  Noel.

He will perform every track on 1994's Definitely Maybe and some of their other greatest hits during the summer shows.

The source confirmed: "Liam is convinced he can recreate the magic of the first Oasis album, whether or not Noel is with him on stage.

"He's played songs like Rock 'n' Roll Star with his new band and the crowd erupts."

He will be performing at a number of locations across the UK including Leeds, Belfast, Glasgow and Reading this summer.

The star is also set to perform at Manchester's Co-Op gig later this month.

Exact dates Liam and Noel secretly booked at Wembley for Oasis reunion before talks collapsed

Swifties may be taking over Wembley this weekend but the Gallagher brothers booked three July dates for an Oasis reunion at the London stadium

Definitely, Maybe? The Gallagher brothers have been in talks over a reunion

  • 17:01, 22 Jun 2024
  • Updated 21:19, 22 Jun 2024

Liam and Noel Gallagher secretly booked three dates at Wembley for an Oasis reunion this year, we can reveal.

Liam, 51, claimed in February that an offer had been made for the pair to tour, but older brother Noel turned it down.

But sources said tonight how talks between the warring duo had got as far as setting actual dates – and they had even booked to finally take the stage together at the London stadium on July 8, 9 and 10.

But the plan, which would have sparked a frenzy among millions of fans, collapsed.

One source said: “An Oasis reunion has been hoped for for years. This year would have been the big moment, 30 years on from their debut album Definitely Maybe.

The war between the brothers – one of the most notorious in music history – began with the band’s split in 2009.

Liam told February’s issue of MOJO magazine: “Noel? He ain’t f***ing doing it.

“We put an offer on the table for an Oasis thing, because we got offered it – he said no. It was a big tour, a lot of money.”

In a previous interview, Liam explained that he and his brother Noel's feud started backstage at an Oasis gig in Paris back in 2009. The younger sibling admitted he swung one of Noel's guitars "like an axe" behind the scenes at the gig. Liam told The Sunday Times that he "loves" Noel but there was "no need" for the band to split

This month Liam went on the road with his own Definitely Maybe Tour, playing the album in full – and insiders say he reserves a seat at every gig for Noel, 57.

During a recent performance on his completely sold-out Definitely Maybe tour, Liam admitted his older brother was "playing hard to get". However, he dropped a hint that Noel may be one step closer to picking up the phone.

Taking to the stage in Cardiff, Liam performed his own rendition of Half The World Away, which his sibling originally sang. Addressing the audience, Gallagher said: "So I'm gonna dedicate this next tune to my little brother, who's still playing hard to get."

Gallagher continued: "But that's alright. Word on the street is he was spotted in a really posh chocolate shop – one of them Thorntons – buying some chocolates. So you never know! D'you know what I mean?" It comes after Liam claimed Noel would "send him a box of chocolates" for being "really mean" when the band split.

Spokespeople for Liam and Noel declined to comment.

Liam Gallagher speaks out after claims Oasis secretly booked Wembley shows

Last weekend it was claimed Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher almost sealed reunion plans for legendary Britpop band Oasis before they ‘collapsed’ – and now the latter has responded to rumours.

The Wonderwall hitmakers split in 2009 after 18 years, with Noel and Liam’s personal conflicts and inability to work together cited as a major reason for the breakup.

Their feud has continued for decades since, with the warring brothers taking various swipes at each other across the years.

Despite this, fans have long hoped for a reunion and to once again hear the quartet play hit singles Champagne Supernova, Supersonic, and Don’t Look Back in Anger once more.

It was thought Noel, 57, and Liam, 51, had reportedly booked out London’s Wembley Arena in secret for a huge comeback show that would have gone down in history.

Following the report, Liam has taken to social media to clarify the status of an Oasis reunion, further dousing the hopes of fans .

When a fan asked if the band would be getting back together to play a series of shows next year, Liam posted on X: ‘Nobody’s told me, maybe [they’re] getting a new singer like the dude out of Queen’, referring to Adam Lambert joining the iconic rock band.

It comes after a source told the Mirror : ‘An Oasis reunion has been hoped for for years. This year would have been the big moment, 30 years on from their debut album Definitely Maybe.’

However, it wasn’t meant to be as discussions ‘collapsed’ among the musicians’ people, it’s been reported.

‘But until now, no one has known how close Liam and Noel came to making it a reality. It doesn’t get much closer than booking Wembley, and their teams were devastated when it all collapsed yet again,’ the insider continued.

‘But the fact they made it to that point shows there’s a will on both sides. The hope is it will be a case of not if, but when.’

In February, Liam claimed that Noel had turned down the opportunity for Oasis to reunite and embark on a tour in support of their debut album Definitely Maybe.

When asked by Mojo about the possibility of an anniversary tour for the 1994 album, Liam said that Noel wasn’t up for it.

‘I did call him. Well, my people called Noel’s management team,’ he claimed. ‘We put an offer on the table for an Oasis thing – because we got offered it – and he said no. It was a big tour, a lot of money. He turned it down. I get it, he’s got a divorce going down . I’ll do the Definitely Maybe thing and have a nice time without him.’

Liam – who is performing Oasis’ debut album on twelve dates across the UK and Ireland – is joined on tour by his son Gene Gallagher and his band Villanelle.

Responding to the anniversary tour, Noel told SPIN Magazine : ‘If Liam wants to do the show, great. He’s got to make a living and all of that. Keep the flame alive. It’s not something I particularly would be able to put my heart and soul into.’

Noel and Liam Gallagher's family feud continues at Glastonbury with 'tense' encounter at VIP bar

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

The Gallagher brothers have been embroiled in a bitter feud for almost as long as they've been famous.

But now it is reported that their ongoing fallout has hit a new low as their children publicly choose sides.

According to The Sun , Liam's son Gene, 22, whose mother is Nicole Appleton , ignored Noel at a VIP bar at Glastonbury , even though they were just yards apart.

A source told the outlet: “Noel and Gene clocked each other but kept well apart.

“It was quite sad to see given they are so closely related but there is still a lot of bad blood between Noel and Liam.

“They were only standing 20 yards apart but neither of them would break rank to say hello.”

The Standard has contacted Gallagher’s rep for comment.

It was reported that Noel partied until 3am at the festival on Sunday after watching the Irish band Kneecap in Shangri-La.

Last August, Noel had to make a quick exit from Chiltern Firehouse restaurant with his daughter Anais when Gene’s brother, Lennon, showed up. Lennon's mother is Patsy Kensit.

The awkward run-in follows Liam responded to reports of a supposed Oasis reunion tour with Noel, allegedly booked at London's Wembley Arena for July 8, 9, and 10.

Last week, the 51-year-old singer clarified that he was unaware of any such plans when questioned by a fan on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The social media user asked: “Liam is Oasis reunion next year actually happening?”

To which, the musician joked: “Nobody’s told me maybe there getting a new singer like the dude out of queen.”

Liam and his brother Noel, 57, have been in a public feud since Oasis split at their last concert in Paris in 2009 following a backstage altercation.

Despite earlier reports of booked dates at Wembley, the anticipated reunion gig has been cancelled, reportedly due to the brothers.

A source told The Mirror : “An Oasis reunion has been hoped for for years. This year would have been the big moment, 30 years on from their debut album Definitely Maybe,' a source said.

“But until now, no one has known how close Liam and Noel came to making it a reality.

“It doesn't get much closer than booking Wembley, and their teams were devastated when it all collapsed yet again.”

Liam Gallagher says he saves a seat for Noel at every solo show

Last week, X user Simon Love shared a post saying he had attended a Liam Gallagher show, where he noticed that a seat had been reserved for Noel. He wrote in the post: “I’m in a hospitality box at Liam Gallagher and I’ve just seen this on a seat in front of mine.”

Unfortunately, Love later revealed that the photo was snapped during a Jesus And Mary Chain show in 2014, and that he was just having a laugh with the post.

A couple of days later, however – as Stereogum points out – Liam confirmed that he does in fact reserve a seat for his older brother at all of his shows. When a now-private account asked Liam if he saves a seat for Noel, he replied with a short and direct: “Yes you never know.” It is currently unknown if Noel has ever attended one of Liam’s solo gigs, or if he’s even aware of the spots saved for him.

Liam’s confirmation of reserving seats comes after he dedicated the Noel-sung ‘Half The World Away’  and  Noel‘s Oasis-era ‘Lock All The Doors’ demo to his brother during his current ‘Definitely Maybe’ 30th anniversary tour .

Elsewhere during the tour, Liam has dedicated ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’ to Dave Grohl . Footage has also emerged of the  Foo Fighters frontman dancing to the track at The O2 in London.
