The best trip I have ever had

An amazing trip with amazing guides! Adnane and Younes went above and beyond to make it unforgettable. I traveled in May 2021 after Morocco opened its border. They did everything so I feel safe of Covid-19. The country is very interesting, but Adnane and Younes made it unforgettable. Every detail was perfect. I traveled to over 60 countries using private tours and this one was the best. After the 12 days tour was over I stayed in Marrakech for 2 more days. Adnane drove me to have the test done and brought the results back the next day. Only this curtesy tells how out of the way they go. I can’t thank them enough. Everything I described does not do justice to them. The only way is to experience. So book the tour with Moroccan Odyssey and you will have the time of your life.

Hello! Thank you for coming all the way to Morocco to visit it. We appreciate that you are willing to travel so far to see it. The time you spent with ADNANE & Youness we know that was super fun, and we are excited that you’d like to make it an annual tradition. Let’s plan for!! Moroccan Odyssey Team

DO YOUR HOMEWORK! I travelled with Adnone and Joud of Moroccan Odyssey and bailed on the third day of my 10-day trip. I didn't feel safe, happy, or welcome. It was just plain weird sitting in the backseat listening to this couple bicker in Arabic. I checked myself into a cheap IBIS and was willing to walk away and lose my money to get away from them. It was that bad. These two guides then showed up at the IBIS and began berating me to the point that a British woman came to my rescue. I also didn't travel to Morocco to sit in the backseat and listen to Joud eat Lay's chips, Cheesies, Malteezer's and sweet cookies... all day long! She ate constantly, instead of telling me about the areas we were passing through. Not only was I was afraid to ask questions, because Joud always responded with, "As I already told you..." She informed me that her father was a man of great importance in Morocco, and she treated everyone, including the lovely Riad owners – and myself – like we were beneath her. I am not a princess, and I have travelled extensively through Africa and around the globe. I have never been treated worse. Adnone is quick to open the car door, but completely disrespectful in reality. After everything, Adnone whats apped me last week and asked me to give them a review, because he said "We are the best of the best!". This is my review: Adnone and Joud at Moroccan Odyssey Torus are the "worst of the worst'. Contact me if you have any doubts.

First of all, we would like to thank you for this comment. Feedback is always important, no matter how strong, that enables us to develop and modify our business system. Yes, we are confident that we are doing our part to the fullest, in fact we are surprised by what we read in your comment, unfortunately as you know we suffered a lot with you with changes to hotel reservations that were previously scheduled and agreed with you because of your dog. Everything you said in this comment was a slander against us and has no basis in truth, and only increases our steadfastness and pushes us to move forward in our business, our relationship was in this deal with the customer and this does not force us to deal and satisfy the customer's dog. Sitting in the back seat is usually the correct place for the customer to sit according to the customs and principles, and in this trip this was your choice to enjoy with your dog, as for the Ibis hotel, this was your choice because this hotel was the only one that agreed to host you with a dog. Please be honest with yourself before being honest about what you wrote about us, and thank you for everything. We are the best because we believe we are the best in everything we do MOROCCAN ODYSSEY TEAM

My wife and I booked the 10 day private tour with Adnan. 10 full days was the perfect length as we didn''t feel rushed going from place to place. We had time to do our own things aswell. Adnan picked us up from the airport and was our driver and guide throughout the trip. We could not have asked for a better guide. He made sure we were constantly comfortable and hydrated, he made sure we were safe, took many photos for us and showed us the real Moroccan culture. During the drives and walks he explained where we were and the historical and cultural facts of the locations. We really enjoyed how he took us through the local markets to experience the culture and we even ate at hidden places that were only visited by the locals. These places include grilled fish stores that grilled the fish we purchased from the fish market in Essaouira and meat grill stores that grilled the camel meat we bought in Casablanca. We also loved the fact Adnan took us to his favourite spots that weren't on the itinerary. When we wanted to go to additional places, he did not hesitate in taking us. The accommodation that we stayed at were very nice and hospitable. The car was also very clean and comfortable. There were instances where the road was flooded and cars had to wait for the water to flow throw. Thankfully Adnan's car was powerful enough to easily get through the water. To our surprise Adnan invited us to join his family for dinner. This really shows the lengths he goes through to make sure you are enjoying your trip and you get to see how Moroccan people live. Throughout the trip you will start to find Adnan more and more as a friend and less and less of a tourist guide. Thank you Adnan for everything! We cannot recommend the 10day tour enough.

I recently returned from a fantastic, whirl-wind 12-day tour with Moroccan Odyssey. We had such a great time, thanks to our wonderful guide Younes, the authentic accommodations, and the enthusiastic day guides. We visited Rabat, Chefchaouen, Volubilis, Menkes, Fez, a desert camp, Marrakech, and Essouira. Younes was a very attentive guide who prided himself on his ability to adapt to clients' personalities and traveling styles, and after 12 days with him, I can see why. He is quite cordial, humorous, and informative, and very attentive to detail and making sure that we (2 American women) enjoyed ourselves and experienced the attractions we wanted to see. We had asked for a bit of modification of a standard tour, which Moroccan Odyssey made with no problem whatsoever. We were also able stop on the fly for things that interested us, whether it be to buy produce on the side of the road, or a photo op in town. Plus, Younes seemed to know everyone everywhere! It was fun to see him greet old friends in towns we passed through - you felt like you were getting the insider's tour. The accommodations offered by Moroccan Odyssey were authentic riads that were lovely and generally well-maintained. If you can do it, I recommend a riad over a hotel any day...better service, better location, more personal, and it feels like an escape. Because the country was just opening up after Covid, we were unable to stay in one of the riads that were planned, but the transition to another was set up ahead of time and seamless. Food offered in the riads was really good! The company was on top of making sure that the riads made guests comfortable, and were checking out potential accommodations at the time we traveled. The desert camp is something you don't want to miss! Even if you choose to 4x4 it out there instead of taking a camel. The day guides were awesome. The Chefchaouen and Fez guides were life-long residents, and we immediately hit it off with Zack in Marrakech. The Volubilis guide was also quite knowledgeable. We did not have day guides in Rabat or Meknes, and I was glad that I had a tour book, but it was a short stop. Any tour through Morocco will include a lot of driving. I would encourage anyone to pay attention to driving times quoted and decide if you need to cut anything out. For example, adding Chefchoauen to our schedule substantially increased our driving for the trip since it is so far out of the way. Luckily, the company offered a very comfortable vehicle that held us and our luggage easily, and we could stop for bathroom breaks at clean places Younes knew whenever needed.

We had a fabulous two weeks spanning almost three thousand miles of Morocco. Our tour guide, Adnane, was a very experienced and thoughtful guide. Adnane was well versed in all sites of Morocco. Adnane knew where to go, restaurants to eat and the history and stories of the people where we visited. He was also very agreeable in accommodating our schedule each day. We were introduced to many local flavors of Morocco. Adnane was terrific in explaining culture, religion and mores of the Moroccan people. We felt so safe and so taken care of with Adnane., who accompanied us to and from each Riad. Introducing us to each of our hosts and insuring we had the best rooms. We will only use Adnane when we visit Morocco…. He is what made the trip so successful.

Book with Adnane!!! He created an amazing experience and thought of everything. It was a bucket list trip and he showed us parts of Morocco that aren’t in the travel books. Looking forward to one day going back ✌🏻. The kindness and hospitality he showed my cousin and I made us love Morocco even more.

Small Groups: Our Only Focus

Small group travel is all that we do – just 12 to 24 guests on our own custom-designed tours. And it’s all we’ve ever done, from the day we opened our doors in 1998.

We design and operate our tours specifically for small groups, rather than adapt a conventional tour to take fewer guests. And while you’re sure to find tours with fewer guests, or lower prices, or labeled “Deluxe” (with the prices to match), you won’t find the combination of value, quality, superior accommodations and amenities, and guaranteed small groups that we offer.

We do this by creating and operating our own tours, and offering them to you without any middlemen. We work closely with our airline, hotel, and other travel partners to secure the lowest rates possible. Then we put those rates to good use by offering our tours at an excellent value – not necessarily the lowest price, but the best ratio of price to experiences, quality, and service.

We invite you to compare our tours with those of other travel companies and see for yourself. You’ll find that Odysseys Unlimited offers the best package of small group travel and premium quality – at an excellent value.

The Small Group Experience

The small size of our tour groups allows us to move about more flexibly and efficiently; enjoy more spontaneous encounters; and experience a degree of freedom and independence simply not available to travelers on conventional group tours of 40 or more.

Traveling on your own you’d see the major sights, but chances are you’d stick close to the traditional tourist routes. Our goal is to show you the major sights and take you behind the scenes: into private homes and traditional villages, to local schools and neighborhood restaurants. And you’ll travel in the company of experienced, knowledgeable tour directors and guides who share their countries – and their lives – with you, bringing destinations alive in a truly personal and meaningful way.

Not only do these opportunities enhance your travels, but someone else makes the arrangements and manages all the details – leaving you free to savor the small group experience.

Extensive Included Sightseeing

Our small group tours include a great deal of thoughtful and engaging sightseeing and activities, from camel-back rides, rainforest walks, and scenic excursions to guided museum tours, home visits, cultural performances, and wine tastings. In major cities there’s usually free time to explore on your own after a guided city tour.

Respect for Your Freedom and Individuality

If you’ve avoided taking group tours, preferring to travel on your own, we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by our level of service, independence, and value. And if you’re a veteran of traditional group tours, we’re confident you’ll be impressed by the many advantages of small group travel, as well as by the high quality and outstanding value you’ll enjoy with Odysseys Unlimited.

We offer the best of both worlds: the value, ease, and comprehensive itinerary of a group tour, and the freedom, quality, and service that sophisticated travelers demand, and deserve. Should you choose to sit out an included tour or two and go off on your own, you’re entirely welcome to do so. And we think you’ll appreciate having the occasional lunch or dinner on your own, away from the group.

Our Tour Directors Make the Difference

We believe personal attention is key to an outstanding travel experience, so we’ve ensured that it’s a hallmark of Odysseys Unlimited. It starts with our travel counselors when you reserve your trip, then continues on the road with your tour director. Our professional tour directors rank among the best in the business; their love of travel is surpassed only by their desire to share their enthusiasm and knowledge with others. And traveling in a small group means your tour director will have more time to spend with you and to share the personal insights that can add so much to your experience.

A Variety of Accommodations

We know that hotels aren’t the main reason for traveling. But good accommodations can enhance your overall tour experience, and great accommodations can contribute to a great trip. So we select hotels that we believe are best for a particular trip and experience – those that offer the best combination of quality, value, and atmosphere for each destination. Our hotels in major cities are usually centrally located so guests can get around easier; our unique lodgings are often out of the way, offering our tour members a local ambiance larger groups never experience.

Our lodging options are divided into three segments:

Excellent Hotels

These are the Deluxe, Superior First Class, and First Class accommodations we use in major cities, including well-known chain hotels and independently owned properties. You can expect excellent service and amenities in these well-located properties.

Unique Lodgings Perhaps our most interesting lodgings, these properties cater to small groups and independent travelers, and generally are not available to conventional groups of 40 or more. From the historic  paradores  of Spain, to a French farmhouse, to a Japanese ryokan or a Tuscan villa, these accommodations often are destinations in themselves.

Small Ships We leave the mass-market big ship cruise experience to others, and instead focus on the smaller, more intimate ships that ply distinctive waterways. As you cruise along the Yangtze River, the Turquoise Coast, or through the Patagonian ice fields, among others, your small ship is as much a part of the journey as the places you visit. These vessels let you see the life of a country up close, and allow you to disembark frequently to explore. And while they may vary from simple and comfortable to truly deluxe, these ships generally feature a casual onboard atmosphere, single-seating dining, and amenities such as lounges, boutiques, and plenty of open deck space.

Most Gratuities Included

Experienced travelers know that tipping is an expected element of worldwide travel; but at times it can become a nuisance or inconvenience. For that reason, we’ve eliminated the worry by including in your tour price all gratuities for local guides and drivers, hotel and airport porters, and dining room servers. Gratuities for your Odysseys Unlimited Tour Director and shipboard personnel (if your tour includes a cruise) are not included and should be extended on a voluntary basis, in recognition of truly excellent service.

What Your Tour Price Includes

We design our tours to be highly inclusive, while still making it possible for you to exercise some personal preferences. So we include all the essentials – airfare, accommodations, most meals, extensive sightseeing – but leave some room for you to explore on your own or to enjoy a few meals away from the group.

In general, every Odysseys Unlimited trip includes:

  • Travel in a small group of just 12 to 24 guests – guaranteed
  • Round-trip air transportation from listed cities; plus all flights within your tour
  • Accommodations
  • Many meals: all breakfasts, many lunches and dinners – and you’ll also have the opportunity to dine on your own, without the group
  • All advertised sightseeing (plus all entrance fees and admissions)
  • Singular activities and more intimate cultural encounters possible only with a small group
  • The services of an experienced, professional Odysseys Unlimited Tour Director
  • $100 frequent traveler credit toward your next Odysseys Unlimited tour ($200 after three tours; $300 after 10 tours)

You will meet your driver or guide at the Casablanca airport to transfer you to the hotel. Check-in and time to relax. After an orientation about Moroccan society and culture, you will go on a bus tour of Casablanca. You will drive through the Cornish seaside, see the gates of the Royal Palace and walk in the French-built Quartier des Habous. Visit the Mellah, home to most of Morocco’s Jewish community. Finally, you will stop by Rick’s Cafe before heading back to the hotel.

In the morning, you will visit the Hassan II Mosque, a glorious structure believed to be only second in size to Islam’s most important site, Mecca in Saudi Arabia. Head to Rabat, where you will explore Morocco’s youngest imperial city and modern capital of Morocco. You will visit the Mausoleum, the Hassan Tower, the royal palace, and the Kasbah of Oudayas. After lunch, you will resume the ride to Fes.

The guided tour of Fes will take you into the heart of this extraordinary medieval walled city; walk its alleys and small streets. Our field visit starts with a panoramic view of the whole Medina of Fes. Then it’s on to the Royal Palace, the Jewish district (the first Mellah ever built in Morocco) the famous Al Qaraouiyine University (the oldest in the region), and the tanneries. After lunch, you will visit the ceramic factory to learn about the fascinating tile and ceramic industry.

You will travel to the imperial city of Meknes, the Ismaili capital of Morocco. In Meknes, you will see the gorgeous gate of Bab Mansour, built by the Sultan Moulay Ismail, the granary, and the Sahrij Souani used for irrigation and plantation. You will also visit the holly town of Moulay Idriss and the Roman ruins of Volubilis. Resume the trip to Ifrane.

Drive to Marrakech through the middle the Atlas Mountains. En route, you will stop in Ezrou for a quick visit to the Macaque Monkeys and continue to Beni Mellah, a town surrounded by orange and olive groves. The nearby Bin-el-Ouidane Dam keeps the groves and other cultivated crops like Beetroot and sugarcane well-watered. Enjoy a traditional Berber lunch in Beni Mellal. Located at the foot of the Middle Atlas Mountains. Overnight in Marrakech.

The second day in Marrakech is devoted to explore the most important places of historical and cultural interests. With a local tour guide, you will visit the Koutoubia Mosque, Al Bahia palace, the Mellah, gardens and bazaars. Odyssey Travel Morocco: Unveiling the Enchanting Beauty of North Africa

If you are an adventurous soul seeking to discover a land of mystique and allure, look no further than Morocco. Nestled in the heart of North Africa , Morocco offers an enchanting odyssey for travelers who crave an authentic and immersive experience. From the bustling markets of Marrakech to the serene Sahara Desert, Morocco boasts a diverse landscape and a rich tapestry of culture, making it a must-visit destination for explorers. In this article, we will take you on a journey through the captivating wonders of Odyssey Travel Morocco.

Exploring Marrakech Markets

Our odyssey begins in the captivating city of Marrakech, a kaleidoscope of colors, scents, and sounds. The bustling markets, known as souks, are a feast for the senses. Lose yourself in the labyrinthine alleys, where vendors offer an array of goods, from intricate handicrafts to aromatic spices. Don’t forget to hone your bargaining skills as haggling is an essential part of the experience. The Djemaa El-Fna square is the heart of Marrakech ‘s medina, where snake charmers, musicians, and street performers add to the city’s vibrant ambiance.

A Sojourn to the Sahara Desert

No Odyssey Travel Morocco would be complete without a journey into the Sahara Desert, an otherworldly landscape of endless dunes and starry skies. Travelers can opt for a camel trek through the desert, guided by experienced nomads who will regale you with tales of ancient traditions and desert wisdom. As the sun sets, witness the Sahara transform into a mesmerizing sea of orange hues, and at night, the celestial display of stars above will leave you awe-struck. Spend the night in a traditional Berber camp and relish the silence and serenity of the desert.

Immersing in Moroccan Culture

Morocco’s allure lies not only in its landscapes but also in its rich cultural heritage. A visit to the historic city of Fez will transport you back in time, with its medieval architecture and labyrinthine alleys. The Royal Palace, tanneries, and ancient mosques are a testament to the country’s glorious past. Don’t miss indulging in a traditional Moroccan meal, such as the iconic tagine, served with a delightful assortment of spices and flavors.

Captivated by Chefchaouen

Nestled in the Rif Mountains, the blue city of Chefchaouen is a hidden gem that enchants travelers with its cerulean-hued buildings. Meander through the cobbled streets, adorned with cascading flowers, and savor the tranquility of this picturesque town. Chefchaouen offers a respite from the bustling cities and a chance to immerse yourself in the simplicity and beauty of nature.

Tips for Traveling to Morocco

  • Respect Local Customs: Embrace the local customs and traditions, especially in conservative areas, by dressing modestly and asking for permission before taking someone’s photograph.
  • Stay Hydrated: The Moroccan sun can be intense, so carry a water bottle and stay hydrated during your excursions.
  • Try Moroccan Mint Tea: A traditional drink, Moroccan mint tea, is a refreshing way to connect with locals and enjoy their hospitality.
  • Secure Your Belongings: Like any travel destination, be mindful of your belongings and keep them secure, especially in crowded areas.

On an Odyssey Travel Morocco is a transformative experience that will leave you with lasting memories. From the bustling markets of Marrakech to the serene Sahara Desert, Morocco offers a remarkable blend of landscapes, cultures, and traditions. So, let your wanderlust guide you as you uncover the enchanting beauty of North Africa’s crown jewel, Morocco. Plan your journey wisely, respect the local culture, and get ready to be captivated by the magic of this extraordinary destination.

These 11 Destinations Are So Stunning, They Don't Seem Real

Pinterest shared some destinations that feel out of this world.

odyssey tours morocco

Mariana Pryimachuk/Getty Images

Pinterest has become a go-to resource for those plotting out their next great vacation. The site has made it ridiculously simple to discover tips and tricks to traveling like a pro — and even easier to save all those ideas in one place. But if you need a little more inspiration, Pinterest has also unveiled its top travel trends of 2024, and according to the report, "mysterious" and "unbelievable" places are at the very top of everyone's mind.

"Searches for enigmatic locales are rising as travelers crave places shrouded in mystery and allure, promising a blend of wonder, adventure, and the unexplored," Pinterest shared in its Travel Trends report. "From ethereal natural landscapes to ancient, whispering ruins, these hidden gems ignite the imagination of artists and call out to travelers in pursuit of spiritual enlightenment and transcendence. Venturing into the depths of ancient cities or uncovering forgotten realms becomes a daring odyssey, pushing boundaries and unraveling profound truths about oneself and the world."

While this all sounds great, we wanted specifics. So, we asked Pinterest for the top-trending spots specifically around "places that don't feel real." Here are the destinations the platform shared.

Aokigahara Forest, Japan

TOSHIHARU ARAKAWA/Getty Images

Aokigahara Forest , often called the "sea of trees," is a dense woodland found along the northwest base of Mount Fuji. Here, travelers can expect a quiet atmosphere, winding trails to roam, and plenty of serenity. And, as Japan's tourism website noted, there's one super cool natural occurrence here — "If you hold a compass to the rocky volcanic ground, it may react to the natural magnetism."

Meghalaya, India

RBB/Getty Images

Meghalaya, a state in the northeastern part of India, is one more verdant green landscape that looks closer to the land before time than anything else. Here, visitors will find rich biodiversity, including the endangered cloud leopard, and miles upon miles of hiking trails to explore for days on end.

Kolmanskop, Namibia

maydays/Getty Images

Kolmanskop, a once bustling diamond mine town, now stands abandoned in the Namib Desert, slowly being reclaimed by sand. Today it stands as a photographer's paradise, offering surreal visuals of homes being swallowed by the earth. You need a permit to visit and to take photos, which can be obtained from the ticket office before entering the town. (Commercial photographers need a different permit, which costs significantly more, but as long as those images are just for your personal use, you're all set.)

Seven Colored Earth of Chamarel, Mauritius

Balate Dorin/Getty Images

The Seven Colored Earth of Chamarel in Mauritius isn’t your typical patch of sand. Here, travelers can gaze upon a 21-acre patch of land that is the perfect kaleidoscope of seven colors. These vibrant hues all come from volcanic rocks that are cooling off at various temperatures, all set off by the gorgeous green backdrop of Chamarel. Come visit the geopark, see the turtles, and stay for a cup of coffee .

Ik Kil Cenote, Mexico

emicristea/Getty Images

In the Yucatán Peninsula, just a stone’s throw from Chichén Itzá, travelers can dive into Ik Kil Cenote, an awe-inspiring natural swimming hole with some of the bluest waters you've ever seen. Inside the cenote, travelers can find otherworldly vines snaking down to the crystal-clear waters below. The best way to see it for yourself is with a guided tour to see both the pyramid and the cenote in one.

The Tunnel of Love, Ukraine

The Tunnel of Love , located in the village of Klevan, is just as romantic as it sounds. The dark corridor is made up of arching trees, giving just enough room for the train to run through. The tunnel continues for three kilometers (about 1.86 miles) and is a popular place for photographers — and lovebirds. Make sure to keep this place bookmarked for when the time comes for tourism to return to the Ukraine.

Cappadocia, Turkey

benstevens/Getty Images

You've likely seen this spot on your Instagram feed, and for good reason. Cappadocia was made famous on social media thanks to its fairytale landscape made up of rock formations and ancient cave dwellings, not to mention the hot air balloons that ascend over it at sunrise. Read our entire guide to planning the perfect hot air balloon trip here .

Antelope Canyon, U.S.

Left_Coast_Photographer/Getty Images

Antelope Canyon, located on Navajo Indigenous land in Arizona, is one of America's most beautiful slot canyons. Here, guests can hike through the canyon, finding the perfect light cascading through the narrow openings, creating awe-inspiring images. Visiting requires a guided tour, but that's OK, as it's always with a local who knows exactly where to go.

Plitvice Lakes, Croatia

Kelly Cheng Travel Photography/Getty Images

Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia is a celebrated UNESCO World Heritage site made up of 16 fantastic terraced lakes all joined by waterfalls cascading the azure waters from one pool to the next. Travelers can come to hike or walk around the lakes and do their best to spot all the beautiful birds that call the park home.

Ait Benhaddou, Morocco

Cyrille Gibot/Getty Images

One more hard-to-believe-this-is-real spot to add to your list is Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Morocco. The ancient fortified village is located in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, and is made up of fantastically well-preserved medieval structures — so much so that it's made its way into plenty of movies like "Gladiator." Visitors can explore its narrow streets and buildings, but remember, people still actually live here, so visit with care, and maybe consider a guided tour too .

Termales Santa Rosa De Cabal, Colombia

DC_Colombia/Getty Images

Termales Santa Rosa De Cabal in Colombia is yet another water-focused spot that Pinterest says will leave you singing, "Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?" The natural hot springs located in the Andean mountains are said to have healing properties, but even if they can't fix a broken bone, it will certainly soothe your soul. The easiest way to get there, once again, is with a guide.
