Nathaniel Rateliff Announces Intimate Solo Tour Dates

Nathaniel Rateliff, the acclaimed singer-songwriter, is set to take the stage once again as he revives his intimate, “And It’s Still Alright Tour.” Joined by his friend and fellow singer-songwriter, Kevin Morby, on most dates, this 11-city cross-country journey promises to captivate audiences with its stripped-down and heartfelt performances.

The tour is scheduled throughout the month of November, following existing tour dates planned with his usual backing band, The Night Sweats.

I’m very excited to announce that I will finally be doing a tour to support my 2020 release of  ‘And It’s Still Alright ’. In 2020 we could not finish the tour we had planned. Presale happening now. General on sale Friday. Link in bio. Code: STILLALRIGHT pic.twitter.com/nsf4SWSp7z — Nathaniel Rateliff (@NRateliff) August 7, 2023

Rateliff had initially conceived a similar tour to celebrate his 2020 solo album, And It’s Still Alright . This album, a touching tribute to his late collaborator Richard Swift, was unfortunately derailed shortly after its launch in Minneapolis due to the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, Rateliff is resolute in his determination to bring the essence of this album to life on stage, creating an atmosphere that resonates with his fans on a profound level.

The And It’s Still Alright Tour is an eclectic blend of solo acoustic renditions and Rateliff’s performances backed by a 10-piece folk ensemble, which even includes a mesmerizing string quartet. This musical configuration promises to deliver a diverse and captivating soundscape that complements Rateliff’s evocative storytelling and emotive vocals.

For eager fans, a presale event is currently in progress, offering the opportunity to secure tickets before the general public rush. The official ticket sale for the And It’s Still Alright Tour will commence on Friday, August 11 at 10 a.m. local time for each respective venue.

Kicking off on November 1 at the historic Orpheum Theatre in Boston, the tour is set to paint the nation with its emotional melodies. The journey continues with a much-anticipated concert at Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre, followed by a stop in the nation’s capital, Washington D.C., on November 3.

Nathaniel Rateliff Announces 2023 Solo Tour Dates

He’ll be joined by Kevin Morby

Nathaniel Rateliff Announces 2023 Solo Tour Dates

Have you ever caught yourself wishing the pandemic never happened, and that all the amazing tours slated for 2020 were never canceled? Well, you might not be able to reverse time, but Nathaniel Rateliff will help make up for everything we missed out on. On Monday, August 7th, he announced that his “And It’s Still Alright Tour” — originally scheduled for 2020 , but then canceled — is back on. Check out the full list of dates below, and grab your tickets here .

Rateliff originally announced the “And It’s Still Alright Tour” in 2019, in support of his acclaimed solo album, And It’s Still Alright . The tour was slated for nine-months and kicked off in Minneapolis on track, but nine days in, the pandemic forced Rateliff to call off the remainder of the dates. Now, Rateliff is set to relaunch the tour, this time with the help of opener Kevin Morby . Starting on November 1st, the two will trek across America, making stops in Boston, Brooklyn, Austin, Los Angeles, and more.

Promising an “intimate” evening of acoustic music, the “And It’s Still Alright Tour” will present Rateliff and his nuanced songcraft in an ideal setting. At times, it will be just Rateliff, his guitar, and his songs — at other points, he’ll be joined by “full 10-piece folk band accompaniment, including a string quartet,” according to the press release.

Tickets become available for pre-sale through Ticketmaster on different dates depending on the show — for more information, and access to the pre-sale code, sign up for Rateliff’s email news blast here . Tickets go on-sale for the general public on Friday, August 11th, at 10 a.m. local time.

Check out the full list of dates below. You can also check out a preview of the tour, thanks to a video Rateliff made in 2020 after he and his crew loaded into Town Hall in New York for a performance. The show and the rest of the tour were canceled before Rateliff could deliver his set, but that didn’t stop him from singing a few songs for the camera. Watch the video below.

Tuesday 17th February. The Forum. Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats. Had this album six months and after missing out seeing him live last time in London I wasn’t missing it again.

Like Josh Tillman, Rateliff’s early albums are low key folk outings but both have reinvented themselves recently with Rateliff going down the sixties soul route to great effect.

Rateliff is from Missouri in the heart of America and brings with him tonight his six piece band the Night Sweats. His sweet soul voice has a hint of Sam Cooke and its appropriate he covers ‘Having a Party’ as the set closer but it’s also so much more than that. It’s got a deep earthly edge to it that provides a wide range to the songs.

Pretty much the whole of the album is played along with a couple of newer songs and there’s no filler as they rattle through the set. There’s genuine warmth between the crowd and the band who are genuinely appreciative of the response they get. There’s always a danger with contemporary soul bands that it’s little more than sixties pastiche and borderline tribute but there’s no such worries tonight as the quality of the songs elevates them from the run of the mill.

Expected highlight of ‘SOB’ but ‘Look it here’ hits the marks. Special mention to the livewire trumpeter who didn’t stop moving and dancing while still playing the trumpet often one handed. A real cool dude. Also props to the organist. I am sucker for a Hammond and this guys rocked it and was a fine harmonist too.

A thoroughly great evening. Catch them before they get too big.

Great performance by this band. Can't wait until this band gets another album out. Highlight of the show was a rendition of Leonard Cohen's Chelsea Hotel #2 which was performed solo by Nathaniel Rateliff. But all around high energy from this band. They had a horn section which I thought was just perfect. Not enough bands have them nowadays. They seem like a band you would hear in the mid 70's in a honkey tonk. They remind me of The Band a bit in their traditional ways. After the show the band attended the merch booth to meet the fans, but I had to drive an hour and get up early in the morning so I couldn't stay unfortunately.

More than I could even have hoped for. These guys are amazing performers and put so much feeling and soul into their music. I love that everyone in the group got a solo and that there were so many instrumental jam moments. Nathaniel Rateliff was not only incredible vocally (to put it lightly because his voice is seriously powerful), but was also hilarious, danced like crazy, and took the time to high five all of us in the front row. He seemed so happy to be there with us and truly happy to be performing. The little details make it so worth seeing them live. You feel like a part of their family.

The most talented singer/songwriter I've seen live. What a performance from the band!! The crowd was buzzing!! Really cannot rate them high enough. My partner who doesn't dance couldn't stop tapping his feet. The support artist, Reverend Deadeye is also a true talent. Will definitely be going to see them again. Thank you Songkick, for making it simple to purchase tickets & collect at venue- considering I'd lost original confirmation :)

The support group were too loud, there sound system was excruciating!! Couldn’t hear a word they said or sang.....

Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats were awesome, it was unbelievably too, the professionalism of the band, their musicality is second to none. they dont need a warm up band, we just want to hear and see them. More concerts please?

Can’t see them perform live enough in my life.

Thank you, thank you

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats met and exceeded expectations with a phenomenal concert. Rateliff filled the Regent's sold out crowd with his soul & R&B style, having the entire crowd shouting "WOAHH! WOAHHH!" for more for two full minutes before having the band come out for an explosive encore.

A fun concert with blistering energy. Can't wait to see him again, and "get him a drink."

I'm picky when it comes to live shows. Probably because I've seen so many in my lifetime. Nathaniel Rateliff absolutely rocked! The band is amazing, from the sound to the showmanship - this was a great show. The venue was just a perfect size. My biggest selfish fear is the band will be popular enough that it will start playing large venues, where the performance won't be as personal.

I loved the show, he performed SOB as the last song. They said thank you and walked off stage, but the whole crowd kept chanting, "Ohhhhh oh" like in the song, and they came back out and did an encore. Then they did a New Orleans style outro as the whole band walked from the stage through the front row playing the whole time and exited the venue.

I've been looking forward to seeing Nathaniel Rateliff again having seen him perform at Soup Kitchen a year and a half ago. Together with his new band, he did not disappoint! Highly recommended checking these guys out and I am very excited to see them again on there next European tour.

Oh and the deaf institute is a fantastic venue too!

Great show.

Great night all round.

All their songs sang well with a good sound. My favourite songs may not be everyone's favourite but they performed all the ones l like.

Not sure of exact time on stage but l think it was nearly two hours.

Couldn't fault the show and the support act were good to

Nathaniel Rateliff, My Morning Jacket to co-headline 2024 tour

W ith its swirl of soul, Americana and indie rock, Denver’s platinum-selling Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats has conquered international stages all on its own, following years of Rateliff’s dues-paying folkie career.

But the hard-working band is getting some help this year from My Morning Jacket — the similarly incendiary live act that mashes hard-driving guitars, wailing vocals and county twang into cosmically beautiful tunes. Both acts have sold out multi-night Red Rocks Amphitheatre stands on their own, but together, they promise a mighty draw.

The bands will co-headline a Sept. 10-28 road jaunt, called the Eye to Eye Tour, that finds them performing equal-length sets and switching the order for each concert, according to a press statement. .

“We are long-time lovers of My Morning Jacket and have grown a close friendship over the years,” Rateliff said in the statement. “It’s so special to become friends with musicians and peers that you admire, and we’re looking forward to bringing our love for each other on the road.”

“We were lucky enough to see Nathaniel and some of the Night Sweats at Preservation Hall in New Orleans some years ago — our minds were blown, our hearts were opened, and we got swept up in the joy of it all,” said Jim James, singer for My Morning Jacket, in the statement. “We are so happy to share the stage with these fine folks for a run full of peace, love, music, and fun!”

The un-fun part? There are currently no Colorado dates scheduled — or any west of the Mississippi River. Most are on the East Coast, with a couple in My Morning Jacket’s friendly territory of Nashville (the band hails from Louisville, Ken.).

Rateliff is currently planning shows at Denver’s Boettcher Concert Hall April 5-6 with the Colorado Symphony , a reprise of last year’s Imagination Artist series, but with a new program of orchestra-backed Leonard Cohen covers. Rateliff and the Night Sweats will follow that with a handful of North American dates, followed by the Night Sweats’ string of European dates and U.S. concerts, before joining with MMJ.

Tickets are on sale starting at 10 a.m. Friday, March 29, with a presale starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 26. Check out nathanielrateliff.com/tour for more, and see the Night Sweats’ current list of 2024 live dates below.
