Thousands of people descended on Stoke-on-Trent to see Robbie Williams play for the first time in his city. The 48-year-old megastar entertained 20,000 fans at Vale Park - the home of his beloved Port Vale.

Robbie kicked off the hugely-anticipated gig with Let Me Entertain You - and he certainly did, putting on a spectacular show that will be remembered for years to come.

The concert, which was postponed from two years ago because of the coronavirus pandemic, was held to raise funds for charities close to Robbie's heart - the Hubb Foundation, the Donna Louise and UNICEF.

Robbie Williams will head out on tour later this year across the UK and Ireland as he celebrates his 25th anniversary as a solo artist.

Last week, Robbie announced his new album XXV, to be released on September 9, which features many of his greatest hits re-recorded as orchestral songs with the Metropole Orkest.

To support the album, Robbie will open with two nights at London’s The O2, before heading to Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin.

Fans who pre-order the album from the official Robbie Williams store by 8pm on Tuesday June 14th will receive access to a special ticket pre-sale on Wednesday, June 15th. The pre-sale starts at 9am for 48 hours.

General sale tickets are then available from 9am on Friday, June 17.

First finding fame as a member of 90s boy band Take That, Robbie Williams (born February 13th, 1974) has since become a global star, selling millions of records and becoming one of the UK's most treasured celebrities.

As part of the highly successful group Take That, Williams stood out from the crowd, with an edgy, tougher look than his pretty-boy bandmates. Following in-fighting and William's dislike for the demands made by their management, he left the band in 1995, pursuing a solo career that would lead to brighter success than what had come before.

After leaving the band, Williams befriended Oasis, joining in with the drug-fueled parties that came along with their success, This lifestyle took its toll, with Williams becoming increasingly overweight and the subject of much discussion in tabloid gossip columns, distracting Williams from focusing on his own music. In 1996, he released his first single, a cover of George Michael's "Freedom '90," which was largely a disaster. However, his second single, "Old Before I Die" in 1997 showed more promise, displaying a prominent Oasis influence. His debut album arrived the same year, "Life Thru a Lens," finding huge success in the UK. This was followed by the multi-Platinum release, "I've Been Expecting You," in 1998, establishing Williams' solo career.

His third album, 2000's "Sing When You're Winning" found even greater popularity, bolstered by the hit single "Rock DJ," with Williams also recording a big-band album of standards, "Swing When You're Winning" shortly after. Robbie Williams had by now established himself as one of the leading pop stars in Europe, through an endless string of hits, as well as his larger-than-life persona, selling more copies than he had previously with Take That.

Williams continued this high-flying success with 2002's "Escapology," although despite being one of the biggest stars in the UK and Europe, he failed to break into the American pop market. Despite this, his 2005 record, "Intensive Care" topped the charts in many European countries and his 2006 world tour sold over 1.5 million tickets in just one day. "Rudebox" followed, going double-Platinum in the UK, although it was his lowest selling album in his solo career.

In 2010, news of Take That's reunion brought forth much speculation as to Robbie Williams' involvement, recording a number of new songs with Gary Barlow although he did not become as involved as the other members of Take That. Williams' ninth album, "Take the Crown" arrived in 2012, featuring the production of Jacknife Lee, who has worked with Snow Patrol, R.E.M and Bloc Party, returning to the sound of his earlier work. He again found a number one single with "Candy," reaching the top spot in a number of European countries. In 2013, he again looked towards standards for inspiration, recording "Swing Both Ways," which also featured some originals. The album also featured appearances from star guests including Lily Allen, Olly Murs, Rufus Wainwright, Kelly Clarkson and Michael Bublé.

It is not too far in the distant past that Las Vegas concert residencies were associated with fading pop stars that were way past their commercial prime. More often than not, the artists that gravitated to Las Vegas concert residencies had enjoyed their fair share of the limelight in America’s musical mainstream. Many attribute the dramatic shift in perception for these shows to Celine Dion (with specific regard to her “A New Day” tour). The tour featured theatrical performances and imbibed the spirit of glitz and excess that Las Vegas is often characterized by. Since then, artists such as Elton John, Britney Spears, and Jennifer Lopez have carried on this tradition with immense success. The newest twist to the history of Las Vegas residencies is one that British pop superstar Robbie Williams just might be the catalyst for.

Robbie Williams is one of the more noteworthy symptoms of the US musical mainstream’s stubborn insularity from the global pop music landscape. Despite being the recipient of the second largest recording contract (valued at 80 million pounds) of all time, Robbie Williams (like many artists from the UK) has been overlooked by US terrestrial radio’s gatekeepers. These gatekeepers enjoy immense power to shape public opinion even today despite the rapid proliferation of alternate venues for music discovery besides terrestrial radio in the last two decades. As a result, Robbie Williams’ chart success in the US has been rather lackluster. None of his singles have entered the Billboard Top 40 singles chart. This is in stark contrast to his larger-than-life popularity overseas (literally everywhere besides the US). Furthermore, it has been almost two decades since he last performed live in the US.

Given this reality, it is rather interesting that Robbie Williams chose a Las Vegas concert residency route as opposed to a mini-tour covering the US’ key media hubs. The second element of surprise stems from the conscious choice of venue. Williams’ team has opted for the intimacy of the Encore Theater at Wynn Resorts. This is quite a shift for someone that in Europe is considered a stadium act. The final element of surprise is the overwhelming demand for tickets for these shows. The six shows scheduled for March 2019 have sold out. It would be interesting to see data highlighting the split between domestic and international demand for these tickets. Six more dates have been added between the months of June and July in Las Vegas.

On the evening of March 9, as concert attendees began to fill in the Encore theatre and indulge in friendly banter with each other, it became clear that one common theme linked many of the Americans in the audience. Most of these people either had foreign ties (by virtue of having lived or studied in Europe at some point in their lives) or had discovered Robbie Williams in the couple of years in the late 90s during which his promotion team tried to actively promote him on American television (to compensate for the lack of acceptance from American terrestrial radio gatekeepers).

My expectations of the concert were moderate – not because I expected to be underwhelmed but because I assumed (incorrectly of course!) that the intimacy of the Encore Theatre automatically meant that the show would be a mellow affair with Robbie Williams sitting on a stool performing mostly swing covers. While covers comprised a significant portion of the setlist, the concert was as far from a mellow affair as it could be. The concert opened with a call to the audience to sing the cheeky and irreverent “National Anthem of Robbie” with the lyrics being projected on to the curtains. The audience obliged with an overabundance of enthusiasm as they sang along hilarious lyrics such as

“Yes he went to rehab

Drugs and drinks took him low

God bless our Robbie

He can swing both ways

He is totally global

Except in the US of A”

This was followed by a video of Robbie Williams being broadcast on the curtains with the crowd cheering on deliriously. The curtains opened to a jaw-dropping stage setup. This was the first indication that Robbie Williams had decided to emulate elements of a stadium concert setup within the smaller confines of a theatre. In fact, the stage set design is one of the smartest uses of spaces I have seen in a very long time. The stage featured three ramps two of which were joined like a horseshoe and a center ramp. There were circular spaces between the ramps which is where the band performed. Robbie Williams made a rather dramatic entry via a suspended platform from the ceiling of the theatre.

The concert was an invigorating cocktail of Robbie’s unapologetic and ego-driven lack of political correctness, quirky humor with not even a hint of inhibition, his penchant for excesses, and the glitz and theatrics laced with a touch of class that have come to characterize Las Vegas as a music concert destination. For an artist that has not been in the American limelight for over 15 years, Robbie Williams embodied the spirit of Vegas with relative ease. In addition to the magnificent stage, Robbie’s entourage featured a troupe of drop dead gorgeous female dancers that performed eye-popping dance routines on songs such as “Rock DJ”, “Let Me Entertain You”, and “Swings both ways”. The euphoria factor of this concert surged ten-fold whenever they were on stage.

There were some defining elements of the concert worth highlighting. The first was a reverence for Las Vegas as demonstrated by the high-adrenaline performances. The second was an ode to Robbie Williams’ beginnings as the dreamy-eyed boy from Stoke-on-Trent (UK) as showcased on performances of songs such as “Mr Bojangles” and “Sweet Caroline” (a Neil Diamond cover performed with his father Pete Conway). In fact, “Sweet Caroline” was one of two songs that featured Robbie’s father – a rather unusual and heartwarming twist to a typical concert format. The final element was Robbie Williams’ commitment to audience engagement. For his performance of “Something Stupid”, he invited an Australian fan from the audience and serenaded her on a couch on a stage. It is fair to say that she took full advantage of the situation and probably got the most bang for her buck as she squeezed his buttocks before leaving the stage. He was aware that people had traveled from different parts of the world for this concert. He asked people to yell out and identify themselves as he did a roll call for Europeans, Australians, Kiwis, and finally Americans. To the Americans, he yelled “why don’t you tell your f**kin friends about me???? I don’t want to be infamous for NOT being famous in America”.

Musically, the highlights of the night were “Feel”, “Rock DJ”, “Swings both ways”, “Let me entertain you” and the penultimate track of the evening – “Angels” (which he introduced by saying “OK fine, I’ll perform that one hit”). The night ended with a cover of “My Way” (made popular by Frank Sinatra). The performance was a subtle nod to the artist that had come to define the early history of Las Vegas concert residencies. It was minimalist at best with only Robbie Williams and his primary songwriting partner Guy Chambers on the piano. At the end of the song, Robbie Williams exited by sinking in to the stage while Guy Chambers continued to play the piano as the curtains descended slowly. There was something symbolic about that moment as it focused the spotlight on the songwriting partnership that sowed the seeds for Robbie Williams’ monumental rise to stardom. Prior to this musical alliance, the success of Robbie Williams was far from a foregone conclusion.

One cannot doubt the larger than life ambition of Robbie Williams in his creative vision for this show. He undoubtedly tried to incorporate a lot but in doing so, he may have inadvertently eschewed the primary aspect of his career – his own hits. With a musical legacy spanning over 11 albums as a solo artist (and fifteen albums including the ones with Take That), he was never going to be in a position to do justice to all of it. That being said, he may have gone too far the other way with a covers-heavy setlist. In my humble opinion, that might have been a miscalculation in the context of an artist trying to reacquaint himself with American audiences. His legacy has been largely built off his own hits as opposed to those of others. This might be my only criticism (albeit a rather significant one) of the concert.

The concert is a reminder that America’s insulation from the European musical mainstream since the mid-90s is America’s loss. It is also a reminder that pop music can be fun, classy, and entertaining without being sonically hollow. It is my sincere hope that Robbie Williams’ return to the American stage forces a re-evaluation of gatekeepers in the American musical mainstream that have largely failed in their endeavor to uphold one of the fundamental tenets of responsible media – diversity.

On the other hand, Robbie Williams may have found the city that embodies his spirit and both him and his concert audience are better off for it. I hope that this performance not only ushers in a new era for Robbie Williams’ relationship with America but also for the many talented popstars from across the Atlantic that have been relegated to relative obscurity in America.

When you’re at a Robbie Williams concert, one thing that you’ll notice straight away is how varied the crowd is. The first time I saw Robbie Williams live was when I was nine years old, at Milton Keynes Bowl. To enter the stage, he descended from the sky on a wire. Suffice to say, I was already mesmerised. His opening song, - the classic - "Let Me Entertain You," couldn’t have been more fitting. His performance was full of life as he paraded the stage exuding more and more confidence with every breath. Never before has a Mexican wave filled me with such joy as when conducted by Robbie himself. With the crowd in the palm of his hands, he ran through classics like "Kids" and "Angel," then recently released songs like "Let Love Be Your Energy" and "Better Man," and even did a couple of covers – he did a cover of Wings’ "Live and Let Die" boldly early on his set, and the crowd love it, especially my mum! Eleven years on, seeing Robbie Williams at the O2 Arena London, I was no less disappointed. He didn’t appear miraculously from the sky, but he was still greeted by thousands like a God. Performer to the masses, for the masses, his rendition of "Be a Boy" spoke wonders – there, my idol of nine years old sang, wearing a huge gold crown, as powerful ever.

A showman to the very end, Take That favourite turned solo artist Robbie Williams really knows how to put on a show. An artist with an impossible amount of hits, the real genius is moulding a live show that both satisfies his artistry as well as his loyal fan base.

Confidently striding onto stage, Robbie does a whole circuit of his runway and stage to really lap up the excited cheers before launching into a swing inspired set. Covers by the likes of Harry Richman and Dean Martin allow him to indulge in his favourite genre whilst still showcasing his abilities as a frontman. A brilliant live band supports the singer throughout and a selection of video interludes splits the show. The hit single 'Swing Supreme' divides a jazz heavy first half.

When he returns for act II following more video footage of the tour preparation, the hits are all lined up to be knocked out in quick succession. These included new track 'Go Gentle' and 'She's The One' which receive deafening screams from his devoted crowd. A mash up of 'Rock DJ', 'Come Undone' and 'Candy' is expertly done before the finale of 'Angels'. This track is performed with the huge band before it leads off to a last acapella verse shared with just Robbie and his thousand strong choir.

Mr Williams is sexier than Elvis! Robbie appears to entertain without any effort at all. His charismatic charm and boyish grin makes me blush whenever he looks you in the eye!

He works the room and woes the crowd. Robbie's voice is now lower but better because of his technique! He is a consummate professional, this was obvious when a speaker feedback sent him into a rage mid song!! LMEY - that's what he does from start to the long awaited final song Angels! My favorite is 'Me and my monkey' a story song about sin city Las Vegas. His band are the best I've seen and his backup singers brilliant!

Best part was RW was hot and sweaty so he disappeared then came back on stage wearing a sexy black kilt! Yes he mooned us too (but with jocks)! The old Robbie has gone but the new version is a Better Man!

Last nights Robbie Williams show was amazing. Good to see stringent security checks/searches at turnstiles. Although we had been offered a change of pitch standing to seating tickets, when tickets arrived they were for standing, and now really glad. We managed to get quite close to stage,Robbie's performance from beginning to end was amazing. He commands the audience and his audience participation was brilliant, touching at times when he got us to sing along to "strong" as he has clearly changed the words to "We're strong " for victims of Manchester tragedy. He was absolutely outstanding and I enjoyed every second. Tender moments when his dad joined him on stage and they duetted. Brilliant, fabulous show. Security staff also excellent all evening, very helpful.

I went to the Take That re-union concert in Düsseldorf some years. One of the best concerts I have ever been. The pre-group were the pet shop boys. They were so good. We all thought they will be hard to beat. How wrong we were! Take That started for approx an hour without RW and were absolutely fantastic. Then a very strange thing was brought on stage, with RW on top. What an entrance... then everything changed. He started straight away with one his best. I think it was Rock DJ. In a Nutshell, Take That was brilliant but unbeatable with RW together. If ever you have the chance to see him, do go. You will of regret it.

Talk about making an entrance, 17 showgirls parading his Brit awards, straight into "the heavy entertainment show" and "let me entertain you" then "Rock DJ" what an opening. Then when we thought it couldn't be more exciting, the opening bars of "the flood" and the other Take That boys arrived. (Shame Jason wasn't there) and we were also treated to everything changes. Robbie returned to centre stage to delight us with a good mix of songs from all of his albums.

Then later in the set, take that returned to present him with his Brit Icon award. Fantastic show, already have my tickets for next June.

Robbie is always spectacular and an amazing entertainer. He had the crowd in the palm of his hands. I went to Rochford, and the two at Rod Laver. It was hilarious when he got Justin on stage to sing Something stupid to, as Robbie thought he was gay.

He is such a showman, love him to bits and can't wait for his next concert.

He did all of his old well known songs.....I can't wait until he comes back down under again. He sang Men at Work's "Land Down Under" which was simply awesome.

I have to say that I have mixed feelings about this concert. He came on late at 9pm finished 10:15pm. He only did a few classic songs. He should have come on at 7 or 8:30pm and we had no open act. He made it up by performing Angels, Strong, No Regrets but he should have performed Rock DJ and Millennium. Why he did Feel and Let me entertain you. he did perform love my life.

Robbie Williams is the ultimate entertainer. His concert at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre was simply outstanding. It was my first concert and I'm glad it was Robbie.

The Brisbane Entertainment Centre on the other hand was very different. I have never had seats more uncomfortable. Sardines! I did request a move and was given the best seats in the house. On that note I will give them an A+

Robbie Williams Mission Concert review: A phenomenon to mirror Napier’s biggest event

Anyone who expected Robbie Williams to give anything new to the Napier crowd would be over-thinking.

But it doesn’t detract from the fact that Williams is a phenomenon to rival the Mission Concert itself.

They’ve had near parallel careers, so to speak, and based on Saturday night, neither has a use-by date.

Thirty-three years after embarking on a music career, almost 26 as a solo act, and after almost 31 years since the first Mission Concert in 1993 - including two giant acts this year - close to 25,000 flooded the estate paddock on Saturday to see Williams.

Many were there for eight hours. And similar numbers were set to do the same today.

This is Hawke’s Bay’s biggest event. It’s yet another gift after all the region has been through since the floods of Cyclone Gabrielle nine months ago.

An ideal sunny afternoon turned to a genuine Hawke’s Bay twilight, and a chill came on once the sun disappeared behind the hill. Be ready for the chill.

But the primer is on throughout, with Napier Girls’ High School boarder and Dannevirke teenager Molly Pawson getting the show on the road soon after the gates opened and the most eager of the queue had ignored the urgings from the security staff to “slow down” as they bolt for the prime spots of General Admission.

She’s followed by previous Mission support acts Danica Bryant, a Bay View lass now up from Wellington with her band, Stretch, with his cellist and drummer, and Ladyhawke, the now-44-year-old, from Masterton and the rest of the world, with her band - the volume turned up a notch with each new arrival on stage until the blast greeting the appearance of Williams soon after 8pm.

In an evening dominated by the sound, screen and light show, Williams gets it going the now standard opener of the hand-clapping Hey Wow Yeah Yeah , from his ninth solo album in 2012, merging with Let Me Entertain You , from the first, in 1997.

On what is also now an oft-told life story from the pathway of a lad with no rules, to being one of the “five Manchester boys” in the band, to the point where he could tell the rest “I am ******* famous,” he makes it soon clear he has one particular purpose on the night.

“The No 1 rule is you must love your audience,” he says, and is soon focusing some of the attention on them, getting close and personal with “Simon and Kassy” at the front of the crowd, and later another couple, getting around the issue of having to ask a bloke if he didn’t mind him talking with the man’s wife.

Ah, the lad is a bit of a cad. But it’s all part of reaffirming to the crowd - on one occasion with a touch of actual emotion - that having said he’d never get married and have kids, he’s been married 18 years, has four “kids”, and that this is all the reason he’s “still on this planet”.

There’s a harkening to it through the evening as he reels through the hits - Strong , Love My Life , Supreme , Feel , and Kids - and a Don’t Look Back In Anger cover.

They’re all there before what might have once been called the “encore” but which in this case arrives more than half an hour before it’s due to end.

No Regrets , She’s The One , and Angels were truly some way to end, the crowd obediently raising their cellphones in salute for a display of moving lights of their own making.

Dame Kiri Te Kanawa never had such an opportunity when she did the first Mission Concert in 1993, and these nights in 2023 end on one hand with a reflection on how far technology has taken the concert entertainment industry over the three decades, and the return to reality as the crowd throngs towards the gates, impeded by some just not yet ready to leave, and some near-leglessly unable to.

It’s Williams’ fifth concert expedition to New Zealand. The first was in 2001 (Wellington and Christchurch), the “Escapology Tour” act came two years later, with Duran Duran at Auckland’s Western Springs (which has seen Elton John, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Fleetwood Mac, Bob Marley and the Rolling Stones), the “Let Me Entertain You” tour in 2015 (Auckland and Wellington), and then last time in 2018 (Auckland, Dunedin).

He gets around, this boy, but he’s been a bit quiet lately, having in the last eight weeks done just the Singapore Grand Prix, with Post Malone and Kings of Leon, and on October 18 a gig in Abu Dhabi.

The concerts in Napier, the only ones in New Zealand, crank up a tour of 11 dates in Australasia, the next in Sydney on Thursday and the last at Nicola Estate Winery, near Perth on December 1, before heading for two opening the ski season at Schladming, Austria, on December 7-8.

The point is the Mission concerts have made Taradale, Napier, and Hawke’s Bay very privileged, and Saturday night was one of those occasions.

And even on a chilly night, 49-year-old Robert Peter Williams had a go at baring that famous chest.

Robbie Williams and Ayda Field recently sparked speculation that they were planning a return to London after selling their homes in Wiltshire and Beverly Hills, but it appears they are staying in Los Angeles for the time-being.

According to TopTenRealEstateDeals.com , the couple have splashed out $49.5million (£38.9million) on a Holmby Hills estate that once belonged to Funny Girl actress Fanny Brice, complete with a main house and three separate guest houses to offer more than enough space for them and their four young children.

Amenities include an outdoor pool and pool house with fitness centre, a tennis court, a chef's kitchen, library and formal dining room that is ideal for entertaining. Elegantly decorated throughout and located in the exclusive neighbourhood that is also home to Kylie Jenner, it's easy to see why Robbie and Ayda snapped up the lavish estate. The property has a panelled foyer with a spiral staircase and inlaid wood floor. It leads through to the living room and formal dining room, and provides an impressive entrance to the house.

The living room is spacious and flooded with sunlight courtesy of large windows on either side. With a fireplace at the centre, hardwood flooring and artisan touches throughout, it's clear to see why Robbie and Ayda will have been captivated by the space.

The library features wood-panelled walls with built-in shelving, cosy reading nooks and window seats, and vaulted ceilings.

The chef's kitchen features sleek white and grey décor, with an island unit featuring pans hanging overhead at the centre, and pendant lights from the ceiling.

Robbie and Ayda's new formal dining room features seating for 12, and features a striking scenic wallpaper of trees over water, with a dazzling chandelier hanging above the table.

There are eight bathrooms in the main property, including a master suite with its own sitting area and fireplace, and separate his and hers bathrooms, including a salon hair station in one suite.

Another bedroom has access to a private balcony, and also benefits from a log-burning fireplace and its own seating area.

The garden has an outdoor swimming pool lined by sun loungers and a dining table, with a pool house at one end.

Inside, the pool house doubles up as a fitness centre with a mirrored wall with a barre, along with armchairs for relaxation. It will no doubt prove popular with Robbie and Ayda, who had a similar gym in their former LA home which they recently sold to Drake.

The beautiful garden has expansive lawns and a terrace with a seating area, as well as a tennis court, a koi point, and a vegetable and flower garden where the family can grow their own produce.

Robbie Williams baffled after no one recognised him in London: ‘This wouldn’t happen in the 90s’

R obbie Williams has been left baffled and disheartened after a stroll through a popular London area on Sunday led him to realise that he may no longer have star power.

The Angels singer, 50, who is one of the most famous UK artists of all time, took to Instagram this week to share videos of his walk through Hyde Park, noting that not a single person recognised him - despite one park goer even playing his song.

In the first of a series of videos filmed by Williams’ wife, Ayda Field, 45, the former Take That star is seen wearing an eye-catching pink outfit, complete with bedazzled sunglasses.

‘We are walking back through Hyde Park. I am dressed completely in pink. I have got pink sneakers on. I have got diamanté sunglasses, and absolutely nobody has recognised me or has bothered me, and I really need them too,’ Williams said.

‘It was not like this in the 90s,” he sulked.

Sharing a couple more short videos from their trip to the popular park - which is also home to Kensington Gardens and Kensington Palace - the singer looked baffled as he lined up for an icecream and watched a rollerskater play his song, Let Me Entertain You, on a speaker.

However, on the couple’s walk home, it seemed Williams’ luck had turned. A fan named Alison approached him and asked for a photo.

Appearing chuffed by the exchange, he told his wife, “back in the game”.

Days later, the couple took to the streets of Kensington to continue their experiment. While at first they struggled to see results, it wasn’t long before the singer, who was wearing an AFL jersey with “Robbie” written on the back, had fans lining up for a photo.

A joyful Field could be heard saying, “It’s happening boo”, as multiple fans asked for a selfie with the singer, while Williams grinned as he once again said “back in the game”.

He then did a celebratory dance as they walked home.

Williams first rose to fame in 1990 as part of the popular group Take That. However, it wasn’t until 1997, when his debut solo album, Life Thru a Lens , was released, that he found international stardom.

The Rock DJ singer has since sold over 75 million records worldwide and landed the number one spot on the New Zealand charts for many of his albums and singles, including his 1999 album The Ego Has Landed and 2004 Greatest Hits album.

Robbie Williams was distraught on Sunday after a stroll through   London revealed that he has become almost unrecognisable despite being one of the UK’s most successful artists. 

The Angels singer , 50, shot to fame in the 90s as a member of the pop group Take That and went on to see overwhelming worldwide success with his solo career . However, a recent park stroll has him concerned that his star power has worn off. 

Over the weekend, Robbie’s wife,  Ayda Field , 45, took to Instagram to share a video of the singer walking through Hyde Park wearing an eye-catching pink ensemble complete with bedazzled sunglasses. 

‘We are walking back through Hyde Park. I am dressed completely in pink. I have got pink sneakers on. I have got diamanté sunglasses, and absolutely nobody has recognised me or has bothered me, and I really need them too,’ Robbie said. 

He added, ‘It was not like this in the Nineties.’

The couple shared three other videos from the day, including one of Robbie relaxing on the grass and saying hello to people as they passed by and another getting ice cream as they watched a group of rollerbladers who were playing his hit song, Let Me Entertain You. 

Still, no one recognised him. 

Thankfully for the star, when he and Ayda were walking home, one fan approached him and asked for a photo. 

Appearing chuffed with himself, the singer smiled as he said, ‘Back in the game’.

On Tuesday, the couple took to the streets of Kensington to continue their experiment, and they were pleased to report far more success. 

Wearing an Australian Football League jersey with ‘Robbie’ emblazoned on the back, fans flocked to get a picture with the Rock DJ singer on the street. 

Robbie grinned as he told Ayda, ‘Back in the game’, while she chuckled as she told him, ‘It’s happening boo’. 

The singer has had an impressive 34-year career . Having first found fame in the group Take That between 1990 and 1995, Robbie was catapulted into international stardom upon launching his solo career and debut album in 1997. 

Titled, Life Thru a Lens , the album debuted at number 11 on the UK charts and saw little to no international success. That is until he released his fourth single from the record, Angels. 

The single helped the album dominate charts around the world and become the 58th best-selling album in the UK, selling more than three million copies. 

In the years after, Robbie’s musical success went from strength to strength, earning him many accolades along the way.

On top of two Grammy nominations and 25 MTV Europe Music Award nominations, of which he won seven, the singer has made history by winning the most Brit awards of any UK artist . 

Having been nominated 40 times, both as a member of Take That and as a solo artist, he has won a total of 18 times, including winning best British male artist four times and outstanding contribution to music twice. 

Robbie has also seen global success, selling over 75million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time. 

Some of the star’s biggest shows have seen 375,000 people attend.

Prince William is jumping for joy on his birthday.

The Prince of Wales marked his 42nd year around the sun with a sweet photo of him and his three children —Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6 — midair while on a beach.

William was dressed casually in a navy blue hoodie and salmon pink shorts while the trio wore shorts and varied colors of blue.

The cheerful moment was captured by Princess Kate in Norfolk, England, in May, Kensington Palace confirmed to USA TODAY Friday.

"Happy birthday Papa, we all love you so much! Cx," they captioned the photo.

'We love you, Papa': Princess Kate shoots new Prince William pic for Father's Day

The beach shot appears to be from the same place where William, George, Charlotte and Louis posed for a photo shared on Father's Day Sunday.

" We love you, Papa ," the photo was simply captioned. "Happy Father's Day." The post included two red hearts and is signed, "G, C & L."

The photograph was released a day after Kate, 42, made her first public appearance since revealing she was in treatment for an unspecified form of cancer.

Kate made news in March after a family photo released for British Mother's Day was found to be  "digitally mani p ulated,"  according to major photo agencies including The Associated Press, AFP and Reuters.

On Saturday,  Kate joine d King Charles, Willi am, their three children  and other members of the extended royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to celebrate Trooping the Colour, a military parade to commemorate the monarch's official birthday observation.

For her first public appearance in five months, the princess  chose a white Jenny Packham dress  with an oversized black-and-white ribbon bow, tucking her hair under a wide-brimmed Philip Treacy hat,  according to Vogue . She wore pearl earrings with a matching brooch, white heels and carried a black clutch.

In a personal message on June 14, Kate said  she's making good progress in her treatment , although she's "not out of the woods" yet.

"As anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting," Kate wrote in the statement. "But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well."

"Happy Bday M8!" she captioned her post. "London shows are off to a splendid start."

William, who famously performed with Taylor and  Jon Bon Jovi  at an event in Kensington Palace in 2013 , captioned his pic, shared on his and wife Kate Middleton 's Instagram page, "Thank you @taylorswift for a great evening! #LondonTSTheErastour."

The royal family outing comes less than a week after the Princess of Wales joined her husband and kids , including youngest son   Prince Louis , 6, at the annual Trooping the Colour parade, a celebration of King Charles III 's birthday. It marked Kate's first in-person public appearance since last Christmas and took place almost two months after she revealed her cancer diagnosis . She is still undergoing treatments.

On June 14, Kate shared an update on her health battle , saying on Instagram she hoped to "join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet."

The princess said she was undergoing chemotherapy and was "making good progress," adding that her "treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months."

William, the couple's eldest kids and Travis were not the only celebs spotted at Taylor's London concerts this weekend. Also seen at the June 21 show: the athlete's brother Jason Kelce   and his wife Kylie Kelce ,  Bridgerton 's  Nicola Coughlan , Queer Eye  alum  Jonathan Van Ness ,  Leslie Mann and  Cara Delevigne . The late  Kobe Bryant 's wife  Vanessa Bryant and their daughters  Natalia Bryant , 20,  Bianka Bryant , 6, and  Capri Bryant , 4 attended Swift's show at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles Aug. 3. While performing her song "22," the singer approached Bianka at the end of the stage, hugged her and gifted her a black hat she typically gives a fan during the number. The family later got to hang out with the pop star backstage.

1996 - 1998

Life thru a Lens and I've Been Expecting You: There are not many hopeful but uncertain 23-year-old performers – perhaps only one, in fact - who could honestly and accurately title their debut album Life Thru a Lens without raising a sceptical eyebrow in the jaded popworld observer. But the title of Robbie Williams’ first collection of songs as a solo artist, and the accompanying CD sleeve photographs showing him surrounded by a crush of paparazzi, were the result of the battle-hardened experience of the celebrity survivor, rather than the presumptuous projection of the upstart entertainer.

1999 - 2001

Sing When You're Winning and Swing When You're Winning: Neil Tennant of the Pet Shop Boys, a Robbie Williams hero and occasional collaborator, as well as one of the sharpest minds in British pop, refers to it as the Imperial Phase – the period in a major star’s career when he simply can do no wrong. David Bowie and Elton John enjoyed Imperial Phases in the Seventies. George Michael and Tennant himself lived through theirs in the Eighties. And Robbie’s own Imperial Phase, straddling the years either side of the turn of the century, was at its peak in August 2000, when he released his third studio album as a solo artist, the bracing blast of controlled euphoria that you hold in your hands: the triumphant Sing When You’re Winning. Outside America – a country and a market destined never to quite appreciate his quirkily English combination of hilarious and heartfelt, sentimental and sardonic, silly and sublime – Robbie was now perhaps the biggest pop star in the world.

2002 - 2005

Escapology and Intensive Care: Robbie Williams’ fifth studio album in six years was written and recorded some time before but released shortly after the announcement, in the autumn of 2002, that he had signed what was then and remains today the most lucrative record contract in British music history.

2006 - 2009

Rudebox and Reality Killed the Video Star: A highly anticipated album since the press first caught wind of it, Rudebox saw Robbie collaborating with an array of musical mavericks, including his heroes the Pet Shop Boys, king of ambient William Orbit, fellow Stoke natives Danny Spencer and Kelvin Andrews (aka Soul Mekanik), disco-house icon Joey Negro and NYC-based DJ and producer Mark Ronson. The 16 tracks are a collection of both new and original compositions, teamed with covers of some of his favourite tracks by artists such as Manu Chao, the Human League, My Robot Friend, Lewis Taylor and old friend Stephen Duffy "They might say its 'dance' or it's 'electro', but it's just what I like! It started off as a busman's holiday this time around, but it's become something on which I've found myself. I was just doing my YTS up till now," said Robbie about Rudebox. "It has become something on which I've found myself. This is the right direction for me personally, this is what it is. I saw the whole Robbie thing coming to a close as it was, I couldn't make another album like the ones I'd made, and this has just opened up a thousand other doors. What I am excited about now is making more music. I love all the stuff on the album, I love Rudebox, it's a favourite song of mine. I don't know what's gonna happen now, I'm excited about getting it out there, but I'm more excited about making more."

2010 - 2012

In and Out of Consciousness and Take the Crown: In And Out Of Consciousness was the definitive collection of Robbie hits, celebrating his impressive career to that date. It was released on 11th October 2010.

2013 - 2015

Swings Both Ways and Under the Radar Volume 1: Swings Both Ways, was released on 18th November 2013. Following in the footsteps of Robbie's most successful album to date, 2001's Swing When You're Winning, the new record features a mix of classic covers and new material as well as duets with some of pop's biggest names, including Lily Allen, Michael Bublé, Kelly Clarkson, Olly Murs and Rufus Wainwright.

2016 - 2018

The Heavy Entertainment Show, Under the Radar Volumes 2 and 3: The Heavy Entertainment Show and was released on 4 November 2016: Explaining the title of the album, Robbie said 'I grew up in a time when light entertainment was king. I wanted to do some heavy entertainment. I wanted to do light entertainment but on steroids. So it's a play on me taking the piss out of light entertainment. But in a loving way." Speaking about the title track, Robbie described The Heavy Entertainment Show as 'bombastic, grandiose, silly, theatrical and glorious; I hope. If you've got a good sense of humour and don't take yourself too seriously, I'm sure you will love this song.'

2019 - 2021

The Christmas Present: On 22 November 2019 Robbie released his first Christmas album titled The Christmas Present, which features guest appearances from boxer Tyson Fury, Rod Stewart, Jamie Cullum, Helene Fischer and Bryan Adams. The following week saw Williams' album go to #1 in the UK. The Christmas Present was Robbie’s 13th UK number one album, tying Elvis Presley for the most UK number one albums.

A celebration of 25 years of Robbie as a solo artist the new album, 'XXV' revisits Robbie's biggest hits as a solo artist, newly orchestrated by Jules Buckley, Guy Chambers and Steve Sidwell, and re-recorded with the acclaimed Metropole Orkest. There will also be a tour and lots of other exciting events to remind everyone of Robbie's incredible legacy.
