Owned by a Florida Native, Rusty Anchor is a tour boat company that has been offering exciting eco tours of the Dora Canal and Lake Dora since 1988. We pride ourselves on sharing local knowledge with our customers and pointing out the flora and fauna that exists in this beautiful area of Lake County, FL. We often see Anhingas, Limpkins, Great and Snowy Egrets, Herons of all kinds, Ospreys and Bald Eagles, American Alligators and Turtles too! The Dora Canal has Cypress Trees that are well over 200 years old and they provide nesting areas for several types of birds. Join us on a 2 hour sightseeing tour of Lake Dora and the Dora Canal which has been pinned as the "most beautiful mile of waterway in the world". We also offer 1 hour Shoreline and Sunset Cruises and if you would rather pair your tour with a meal, we have a 3 hour Dora Canal Lunch Cruise and Sunset Dinner Cruise. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our 1 hr boat ride in Mt Dora Lake. Captain Bob was delightful, we learned quite a bit about the lake system and Mt Dora while being given a comfortable ride. After living on the East Coast iof Florida for 21 years, we finally decided to take a short trip to Central Florida (Not Orlando) and can honestly say, this made the trip worth it. Next time we return, we'll take the 2 hour trip and see more of the lake system. Thanks again for a fun and informative ride.

This was a unique and fun experience while in Mt. Dora. The captain and crew did a wonderful job explaining a lot of history of the area and providing us with a lot of information on the incredible wildlife we saw while on the tour. Great job!

We have been on Rusty Anchor before and always love the tour. We enjoy the size of the boat and ease of moving around so we can take pictures of the highlights that the captain and tour guide points out. It's always very enjoyable!

We've been residents in Mount Dora for 6 years. Every time we have company (a lot!) we take them on a Dora Canal tour. (We LOVE Dora Canal!) Last night we cruised on Rusty Anchor for the first time. It was the best tour we have taken! We will always use them from now on. Great narrative by experienced guide and a captain that would slow up, turn around or stop whenever something special was sighted. It was a very enjoyable experience!

Absolutely Fantastic! A Must Do Activity ! Captain Ted and Ran were excellent hosts and very knowledgeable on the history, nature and facts about the area. I felt like i was goong thru Old Florida's waterways and nature. we went on a 2 hour day trip. good for any age and dogs allowed. Next time i will do the sunset cruise!

Relaxed trip on the lake and then the Dora Canal. Good information by the guide. Easy to hear and understand. Did leave a bit later than expected and wasn't a full two hours but very good anyway. Would recommend.

We decided on Mother's Day to take in the canal cruise in Mount Dora, and we all loved it. Quite honestly, the opening trek across the lake to the canal and the trek back across the lake were really relaxing. The canal itself was just beautiful. Being from Florida, I love natural beauty and that's what you see. Of course, alligators, turtles, birds and even a bald eagle. There was a lot of boat traffic, but other than that, it was very enjoyable. Give it a try, I think you'll like it.

Great experience and the staff were so friendly. The tour was very well versed and boat captain was awesome. Next time will try the 2 hour boat tour. Amazing and awesome

This was such a great tour. Captain David took this experience from good to AWESOME. This is a tour and learning cruise. We saw gators, various birds, beautiful homes, and outstanding scenery. David pointed out the various animals and told us about their habitats. We learned the history connected to the different lakes. We would highly recommend this tour. Well worth the price. There is a really nice woman who checks you in and answers all your questions.

Someone mentioned a boat tour on a lake in a town that I have never heard of or been to so here we are. I just followed along. My Dora is a beautiful town to walk shop and eat. We all met at the dock and went on our tour. The service was good as the captain and mate were very knowledgeable and explained everything we needed to know about the lake. It was a fun day for all. Highly recommend. Enjoy

Rusty Anchor is owned and operated by a local Mount Dora resident who has been conducting eco-tours for over 30 years on Lake Dora and the Dora Canal. Welcome to Premier Boat Tours of Mount Dora, Florida

Join us for a pontoon boat tour on Lake Dora and The Harris Chain of Lakes. Our 2-hour tour includes the famous Dora Canal, which has been described as "The most beautiful mile of water in the world." As we cruise, our certified captains and crew will share their stories and local knowledge of the area, its history, flora and fauna. Bald eagles, herons, anhingas, turtles and alligators are all common sightings during our tours.

We are conveniently located at the historic Lakeside Inn (100 N Alexander Street) in downtown Mount Dora, just 45 minutes north of Orlando. Premier Boat Tours offers you the best pontoon boat rides and canal tours in all of Central Florida.

We have 2 large all-weather pontoon boats, covered to keep the sun out, and with drop down plastic windows that can be lowered for the sudden downpours or cold winds. The boats are very stable, have comfortable cushioned seats, a marine toilet and are US Coast Guard Inspected. They have a capacity of 22 passengers and 21 passengers.

Our covered 25-foot pontoon boat can accommodate up to 6 passengers in comfortable oversize seats, it complies with all safety regulations and is great for private tours.

All our Captains are US Coast Guard Certified, they are extremely knowledgeable about the local area, its history and the flora and fauna. Each of them have their own individual style reflecting their personality and interests.

Our First Mates are all First Aid and CPR certified, meeting the US Coast Guard requirements. Knowledgeable about the local birds, plants, reptiles and other wildlife --- they are the spotter on the front of the boat and able to spot the smallest of critters.
