Invictus Launch Week 2952

The 2952 edition of the Invictus Launch Week is held at Vision Center , Orison , Crusader from May 20 until 31, 2952.

Invictus Launch Week is a yearly recurring event organized by the United Empire of Earth Navy ( UEEN ) which marks the beginning of the new recruitment year. It is an official holiday in the UEE . [1]

During the event there is:

  • A Free-Fly event allowing users without a Game package to play the game for free. [2]
  • Show floors that display aerospace and defense manufacturers' work designed for the military. [2]
  • Watch UEE Naval fleet flyby's through the Stanton system. [2]
  • Take a tour of an in-service Javelin destroyer. [2]

  • August Dunlow Spaceport - Orison
  • Port Tressler - microTech
  • Baijini Point - ArcCorp

Commemorative items

star citizen javelin tour

At the event, you were able to purchase manufacturer-specific clothing , as well as several Invictus branded items, and paints from the Pledge store . [6]

From in-game:

  • Invictus Flyby Shirt Blue
  • Invictus Hat Blue
  • Invictus Flight Jacket

From pledge store:

  • Avenger "Invictus Blue And Gold" paint
  • Gladius: "Invictus Blue and Gold" paint
  • Retaliator: "Invictus Blue and Gold" paint
  • Vanguard: "Invictus Blue and Gold" paint
  • Hawk: "Invictus Blue and Gold" paint
  • Hornet: "Invictus Blue and Gold" paint
  • Hercules: "Invictus Blue and Gold" paint
  • Reliant: "Invictus Blue and Gold" paint
  • 100 Series: "Invictus Blue and Gold" paint
  • Cyclone: "Invictus Blue and Gold" paint
  • This paint was only obtainable in the pledge store by buying a "C8X Pisces Invictus Starter Pack", a game package, for US$45. It is unclear how else this paint was obtained. But players reported it being in their in-game inventory without buying it, supposedly because the ship was also on a free loan for everyone to be used in the Dunlow Derby for the duration of the event. There is no official confirmation about this theory. [7]

Patch Star Citizen Alpha 3.17.1 was published to the LIVE branch the day before the event was starting, on May 19. The event then started on the 20th with a few problems, such as not being able to login, getting long login queues before being able to play, character reset queues, ships duplicating or in-game social services being down. CIG developers were quick to respond, fixing the worst issues, but a "degraded performance" warning was still active on the status page. [8] Throughout the week, there were still occasional issues, most notably social services often being down. This kept players from seeing or using their friends list, unable to make parties, and the in-game global chat channel would also be unavailable.

By rainier on may 20, 2022 @ 6:00 a.m. pdt.

Star Citizen delivers the next generation of space flight simulation gaming, combining FPS (First Person Shooter) combat and persistent MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) gameplay to create a living, breathing first person universe capable of truly unlimited gameplay experiences. In addition, through the game's advanced Newtonian physics engine, Star Citizen enables players to experience an unparalleled space sim flying experience with ship control, performance and response calculated based on dozens of dynamically generated physics based variables.

Star Citizen will not require a subscription, and not be free-to-play, it will will be available for a one-time purchase. And while players will be able to play in the Star Citizen universe for free, there will also be virtual items available for purchase with in-game credits so players can customize their ships and other items.

Following the release of Star Citizen – Alpha 3.17: Fueling Fortunes , developer CIG is welcoming new and veteran pilots of the ‘verse to Invictus Launch Week 2952 . This annual event honors the Navy and other armed forces for their tireless service to the UEE, and celebrates the aerospace and defense manufacturers across the galaxy who gather to showcase their latest vehicles designed for (or influenced by) the military. This year, Invictus Launch Week will be held in an all-new location, moving from New Babbage on microTech to the Orison Landing Zone located in the atmosphere of the giant gas planet, Crusader, in the Stanton System. Once again, event organizers have outdone themselves, inviting pilots to tour the deadly Aegis Javelin destroyer and experience the might and majesty of the RSI Bengal fleet carrier via a scenic flyby. With the game being available for free to download and play and free rentals for all flyable ships for the duration of the event, Invictus Launch Week is the perfect time for players to jump in the cockpit and explore what Star Citizen has to offer. For full details on the Invictus Launch Week and Free Fly schedule visit this link , and additional details about Invictus Launch Week 2952 are available in this FAQ .  The Star Citizen Invictus Launch Week 2952 and Free Fly event are scheduled to begin on May 20 at approximately 9:00am (PDT) and will run through May 31 ending at approximately 5:00pm (PDT). Highlights for this year’s upcoming Invictus Launch Week 2952 include:   Play for Free: Download the Star Citizen client and play for free during the Invictus Launch Week 2952 event. Find out more and start your journey today by visiting the official website .   Test-Fly Every Vehicle for Free: A total of 66 vehicles will be available for players to test fly for free, including the latest from the galaxy’s most respected manufacturers on show during the Invictus Launch Week 2952 event.   New Location – Orison Landing Zone: For the first time ever, Invictus comes to the Orison Landing Zone.Residing high in the sky of Crusader in the Stanton system, Orison is Star Citizen ’s first cloud city. Built upon a military-constructed latticework of inhabitable floating platforms, it is the home of Crusader Industries large-scale shipyards. Loaded with the best amenities and conveniences the ‘verse, Orison’s breathtaking sunset and sunrise views will cast the perfect backdrop for Invictus Launch Week 2952.  Tour of the AEGIS Javelin and RSI Bengal Fly-By: During Invictus Launch Week 2952 one of the most powerful warships in the ‘verse, the massive Aegis Javelin will dock at Everus Harbor above Hurston, Baijini Point above ArcCorp, Port Tressler above microTech, and Orison itself. At each location attendees will be able access and tour interior parts of the ship. Invictus 2952 adds brand-new voice lines to the Javelin tour, sharing additional details about the UEEN’s mighty warship. Pilots will also want to keep an eye to the sky to catch a glimpse of the largest vessel in the navy, the RSI Bengal, as it will be viewable with its fleet throughout the Stanton System.   Anvil Legionnaire Boarding Ship Revealed: Sometimes, space combat requires a more face-to-face approach, and Anvil Aerospace delivers with the first boarding ship announced for Star Citizen , revealed during Invictus Launch Week 2952. The Anvil Legionnaire is currently available as a concept ship and will be added as a flyable ship in-game later. While the pilot controls the ship, their co-pilot is focused on hacking the target vessel. The Legionnaire has further seats for up to eight crew members and all the weapons and equipment they’ll need to pacify an enemy crew by any means necessary. Powerful shield generators, onboard distortion cannons, and heavy armor mean the Legionnaire is protected on approach to its target vessel.  RSI Scorpius: Making its in-game debut following its reveal in 2021, the RSI Scorpius will be available to fly for free during Invictus Launch Week 2952. The heavy two-crew fighter is one of the premier dog-fighting ships in the ‘verse, featuring heavy weaponry and tight handling, allowing it to easily compete against similar fighter ships. The ship packs more than just a punch; it’s equipped with multiple slots capable of housing lasers, projectile weapons, and missiles that combine for an impressive array of flexible frontward firepower, plus an innovative remote turret which moves along a track to provide full 360-degree fire coverage. With iconic folding-wing design and impressive firepower, the Scorpius is predicted to be one of RSI’s most popular vessels.  Drake’s Surprise: Drake Interplanetary are planning to reveal a new ship during this year’s Invictus Launch Week 2952. Prospective pilots from throughout the ‘verse are being encouraged to prepare themselves to “meet the beast” when Drake fully reveals their new vehicle on May 28.

The Aegis Dynamics Javelin-class Destroyer

SUBJECT : New Command Ship ( UEE Javelin Destroyer Sale) TO : Commander Axel Stiltier FROM : Daniel Mee

C ommander,

I know we haven’t spoken much, but Lt. Nylar said I should pass this information directly onto you. Word has been going around the Cats that you’ve been looking to acquire a new command ship for the fleet, and my contact in the UEE (not sure if you remember Matida from the Citizen Day event?) let me know that the Navy is planning to sell off an allotment of battle-tested Javelin Destroyers to qualified organizations and private enterprises. I can’t help but think that this would be a perfect fit for us. As you may already know, the Javelin is the Empire’s premier light warship… but what you might not know is that they are built and designed with modular segments in mind, allowing them to be re-purposed for a number of roles.

Now, while a surplus’d Javelin would make an excellent flagship, it’s worth noting that the ships they’re selling have seen hard service against the Vanduul. They are battle hardened and somewhat worse for wear… and have been stripped of the weapons systems. Nevertheless, I have full faith that with our people working together, we could repair and upgrade the destroyer to be one of the most formidable in the ‘Verse. I’m attaching details about the destroyer specifications and deck plans for your review.

Regards, Dan “Puma” Mee Recruiting Officer BlackCat Mercenaries Alliance

About the Ship

star citizen javelin tour

T he Aegis Javelin is here! Designed for use by the UEE military (and featured prominently in Squadron 42) the Javelin is a massive, modular capital ship that can be appropriated for entrepreneurial use. With a detailed interior, plenty of modular room options and a high crew capacity, the Javelin is a ship intended for group play.

In the “real world,” the Javelin is well on its way through the development pipeline! Designed by David Hobbins, the Javelin has since been implemented by the team at Foundry 42 for the opening of the Squadron 42 single-player campaign. The ship features a total of five decks, each with a variety of crew positions and areas to explore and utilize.

PLEASE note before buying that the Javelin is not a free ride to interstellar domination. While it’s the largest ship we have made available to backers, it’s actually the smallest UEE ship-of-the-line. Additionally, Javelins sold to players are “used” by the UEE . They are surplus ships with their military weapons removed. Purchasing a Javelin means a new quest for your Org or team as you rearm and upgrade it for your needs! The ship will also be available in the finished game for players who wish to earn it.

200 Javelins will be made available during this sale for $2,500 each. The proceeds from these ships will go towards allowing us to sell 5,000 basic Aurora backers for new players. Javelin allotments will go up at 6 AM, noon, 6 PM and midnight PST on Friday, November 28 to allow backers from around the world a chance to buy.

Onboard the Javelin

star citizen javelin tour

The Javelin’s heavily armored bridge looks out over the rest of the ship’s superstructure. Centered around a fleet-class command-and-control interface, the bridge allows a dozen crewman to have full run of both the destroyer’s facilities and eye-on awareness of its deep space environs. Bridge positions include captain, executive officer, communications, weapons, radar, helm and science positions.

T he bridge is surrounded by escape pods designed to allow the entire command team to make a quick egress should the worst happen. These escape pods, which can be found throughout the ship, are designed to carry five crew each. These escape pods are military-spec, oriented for easy retrieval by unladen Argo transport ships.

star citizen javelin tour

The Javelin’s Top Deck, also known as ‘officer country,’ is home to quarters for the ship’s captain and executive officer, with all the comforts of home. The prime attraction of the Top Deck is six modular rooms and the upper hangar (used for smaller launches or cargo.) Aegis Dynamics produces an array of battle-oriented room modules which can easily be slotted in and out of place while the Javelin is on orbit; a number of other manufacturers are now creating aftermarket modules for civilian roles such like science and cartography. Additional escape pods for officers are present on the top deck.

star citizen javelin tour

Mid-Deck aboard a Javelin is where the real work happens. It includes access to two torpedo bays and six turret emplacements, giving the ship both offensive and defensive capabilities. The Javelin’s engine column is located here, and the Navy advises that it be staffed at all times for optimal performance. Onboard communications connects the engine column directly to the command stations on the bridge. Two of the modular component rooms can be slotted on to the mid-deck. The ship’s left flank includes access to the hangar, medical bay and brig, while the right flank includes two sets of crew quarters, showers, toilets and the mess hall. Mid-deck also includes escape pods.

star citizen javelin tour

Bottom Deck

The Javelin’s bottom deck includes six dedicated cargo rooms, two engineering facilities and access to the engine column. From the engine column, crew can access two STS turrets and four of the modular component rooms.

The Javelin’s main hangar is also located in this area. While smaller than a dedicated carrier’s hangar, the Javelin can still accommodate a limited number of individual spacecraft. The hangar is primarily designed to deploy a single Aegis Redeemer gunship and a crew of Marines for boarding operations, but other ship types can also be stored. A chart of existing types is attached.

star citizen javelin tour

Finally, the Javelin has a pair of sub-decks with access to additional functionality. Sub-Deck 1 provides access to two modular component rooms, while Sub-Deck 2 features three Class 6 ATA turret emplacements and a maintenance EVA airlock. The Sub-Decks are the area most exposed to space, and are the best place to assign junior organization members.

Technical Specifications

Do i need to buy a javelin.

N O! Remember: we are offering these pledge ships to help fund Star Citizen’s development and because of player demand. All of these ships will be available for in-game credits in the final universe, and they are not required to start the game. The design goal is to make additional ships available that give players a different experience rather than a particular advantage when the persistent universe launches. Every sale supports expanding Star Citizen’s overall development, but none are required to gain full enjoyment from the game.
