To analyze the challenges and opportunities to welcome 2 million tourists in 2020 the study has been designed. Tourism is a social phenomenon that promotes the movement of visitors to a region or destination in the world with certain natural or artificial features aimed to leisure and rest. Methodologically, it is a qualitative descriptive analysis of available secondary information on Nepalese tourism industry and academia. The method analyzes entire facts qualitatively and interprets the meaning of tourism information. The tourism industry's viability is based on its natural and cultural environment. The environment encompasses air, land, water, art, history, architect, festivals, and hospitability of people. The foreign tourists and excursionists' primary interest in Nepal is to study its culture and nature not dust, dirt, and mismanagement of roads etc. Mayors of local governments must be aware on these issues. Pedestaled on secondary data, the key objective of this paper is to make a retrospective assessment of tourism policy and sustainable mountain tourism development efforts in Nepal. The sustainable development of mountain tourism relies on the government's plans and policies and the efficient coordination between stakeholders. But the tourism policies have not been able to adequately address mountain tourism, and this has led to unbalanced growth of tourism sector. Despite the implementation of new Tourism Policy in 2008, adequate focus on mountain tourism is still missing. There is a lacuna of adequate driving force in tourism policy and it has failed to address vital areas of mountain tourism. Hence, there is an instant need of specific and separate mountain tourism policy encompassing integrated approach (abiding federal structure and local participation in planning and management) hence making mountain tourism sustainable, responsible and sensitive-ecologically and culturally.

One of the main reasons why Nepal is such a popular tourist destination is its natural beauty. The country is home to the Himalayas, the highest mountain range in the world. The Himalayas are a major attraction for trekkers, mountaineers, and adventure seekers. The most famous trek in Nepal is the Annapurna Circuit, which takes trekkers through a variety of landscapes, including lush forests, terraced fields, and high-altitude deserts. The trek also offers spectacular views of some of the highest peaks in the world, including Annapurna and Dhaulagiri.

Another important aspect of tourism in Nepal is its rich cultural heritage. Nepal is home to many different ethnic groups and communities, each with their own unique customs and traditions. Visitors can learn about the country's history and culture by visiting temples, monasteries, and palaces. The Kathmandu valley is home to several UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the Swayambhunath Stupa (also known as the Monkey Temple), the Pashupatinath Temple, and the Kathmandu Durbar Square.

In conclusion, Nepal is a country with a rich cultural heritage and breathtaking natural beauty. Tourism plays a vital role in the country's economy, providing employment opportunities and contributing to the development of infrastructure and facilities. However, it is important to ensure that tourism is sustainable and that the negative impacts on the environment and local communities are minimized. The government and the tourism industry must work together to promote responsible tourism practices and to protect the country's unique cultural and natural resources. Additionally, the development of new tourism products and promotion of off-season travel can help to spread the benefits of tourism more widely. Overall, Nepal has the potential to become a leading destination for sustainable and responsible tourism in the region.

                                        TOURISM IN NEPAL

We want to visit different places when we are free. The journey that we make to a particular place for recreation and learning is known as tourism. Tourism industry is developing in Nepal. We can develop our country if we focus on the development of this industry.

tourism in nepal essay 300 words

Everyone likes to enjoy watching beautiful places. Nepal is famous for high mountains, fast flowing rivers , green forests , big lakes and old temples. They attract the visitors to Nepal. We can see many foreigners visiting old historical buildings, temples, mountains, national parks and so on. They are the source of income to the people and the nation as well.

Nepal, a small mountainous country is blessed with natural beauties. It is also rich in unique cultural heritage. High Himalayas, historical and religious places of Nepal are worth visiting. It is a suitable destination for nature lovers. The visitors can enjoy here observing our art, architecture, natural beauty and our social life and culture. Rafting, trekking, mountaineering etc. are other adventurous activities that the visitors can do here.

Tourism can have a great role to develop our country. This industry creates various work opportunities that help to lessen the increasing unemployment problem of the country. It is the chief source of earning foreign currency.

Although, tourism industry plays major and significant role in all round promotion of the country, it has some disadvantages too. All the tourists do not visit with good aim and interest. They may involve in smuggling and indulge the youngsters in various bad habits as well. They may cause the spread of some of the communicable diseases. They carry foods and drinks along with plastic bags and bottles with them during their journey that cause environment degradation.

Tourism industry in Nepal is facing lots of problems. Mostly, beautiful spots are located in far flung areas. They are not accessible with the fundamental needs of the tourists like transportation and communication. Good hotels with high accommodation and fine food service are not established in rural areas. Similarly, poor security condition has also reduced the number of tourists.

Obviously, tourism industry helps to promote economic growth of the country. We have to endeavor a lot for its promotion. Thus, the government and all the sectors concerned need to pay special attention for its proper development and promotion.
