Mumuso is finally in Trinoma!

Because I love affordable, cute, functional items, I got all excited when I found out that Mumuso is finally in Trinoma!

Mumuso is one of my go-to stores lately because of the reasonably priced Korean-themed leisure-lifestyle commodities it offers.  Admittedly, even if I’m already a mom of one, the kikay in me resurrects whenever I go to the malls to shop. 😊 Other than diapers and baby milk, I keep an eye on cute, girly little items that are within the budget.  For as low as PHP99, you’ll get that useful kikay item you so deserve.

Here are some of my Mumuso favorites that other kikay moms would love to have:

Travel Must Haves

Since hubby and I will travel next month, I got myself these useful and cute travel items from Mumuso.

Jelly Makeup Bag

Make up kit — most women I know definitely need one.  Personally, I like a kikay bag that isn’t bulky since it needs to fit in my already crowded office bag. 😀  I also want a make-up bag that’s water-resistant since I usually place mine on top of wet washroom counters. Haha! So this space-saving jelly make-up bag from Mumuso is just right for me. Plus, I really am attracted to its cute design. It comes in pink, blue, and green.

I’m no beauty junkie.  I’m honestly lazy when it comes to prettifying myself (I’d actually hire a full-time personal HMUA if I can afford to, but obviously, I can’t).  So my make-up product needs and standards are just at the minimum.  I just want simple, stress-free and AFFORDABLE beauty products that I can use everyday.  So this primer from Mumuso caught my attention.  Why? Because it talked to me straight to the point. What am I? A primer! So I know exactly what it’s for. Other beauty products call themselves various complicated names, making it difficult for a make-up noob like me to decipher what they are for. So there – a primer! Perfect for my very, very basic everyday make-up routine!  Plus, this beauty product from Mumuso got a price tag that’s totally appealing for a kuripot kikay like me.

Office Tumbler

Working moms and mompreneurs will always be in search for that cute and convenient office tumbler.  While the design of this ceramic cup might attract even my one-year-old, I think it’s still womanly enough to be seated on top of my office desk.

One of my stress relievers at work is a DIY hand massage using a mildly scented hand cream/lotion.  It soothes me in a way no words could properly explain.  So this 2in1 hand cream set is next on my list.  Plus, it’s a nice gift idea for your girl friend’s birthday/shower/graduation/bon voyage party.

Household Items

Mumuso understands that after work, travel and social activities, there will always be a pile of dirty clothes waiting to be washed, a household chore waiting to be done.  So Mumuso saw to it that even the “dirty work” part of our lives will get the same amount of cuteness.

Baby/Kid Stuff

Mommies will definitely find an item or two for their kids in Mumuso. The kiddie stool and bib (with catcher) are my favorites!

These are just some of the things that caught my attention on my first visit.  Looks like I’ll be heading more to Trinoma nowadays because of Mumuso . 😊

The first flagship store of the leisure brand MUMUSO in Moscow, Russia officially opened on June 29, 2017. MUMUSO CEO Mr. Xia Chunlei attended the opening ceremony together with the representatives of Russia, witnessing the historic moment of the collaboration between MUMUSO and Russia.

On the opening day, the store of MUMUSO was swamped by people, really bustling. Its fresh, fashionable retro and elegant design style attracted many tourists and local citizens in Moscow to consume at the store.

Covering an area of more than 200 square meters, the store is all-encompassing and there are more than 2000 high quality creative products displayed, including various daily necessities from cosmetics to digital products, which can fully meet the everyday needs of consumers. There is no shopping guide around to recommend commodities, but when the consumers need help, the assistants would provide services for customers in the first place even they are sorting out products. The whole store creates a warm and comfortable shopping atmosphere.

The store set off a “consumption earthquake” in 3 hours after official opening, where the products were quickly snapped up and the shopping baskets were in short supply in the surprisingly unpopular sales!

My Favorite Travel Bag that Doesn’t Exist Anymore

In the world of seemingly endless options for camera bags, this has remained a favorite of mine and has been a workhorse for the past six years. It may not be the most popular bag out there—in fact, it has since been discontinued—but here’s why I wish it weren’t.

It pains me in some ways to write this, as after many years of use and abuse, my backpack is starting to show its age. This has me reconciling with the fact that soon it may be time for a replacement. If it were still being produced, I would simply give it a refresh with a new replacement. Perhaps the used market may be my best friend in this instance. InCase is more known for their tech backpacks as opposed to camera bags, but when I was looking for a smaller companion to my huge LowePro many years ago, this seemed to tick all the boxes I needed. First, it doesn’t look like a camera bag at all, and it opens from the back, so it is theft-adverse. Plus, it just looks sleek. The zippers have consistently held up, and the straps are rather comfortable with the amount of padding they have.

The issue I’m facing is that I don’t know how much longer it will hold on, as the stitching on the straps, as well as the top handle, is starting to tear. This is after I’ve put my sewing skills to the test in an effort to slow the damage. What doesn’t help the issue, though, is that I usually shoot with a decent amount of kit. I am no stranger to pushing the limits of this bag, and where the stitching is wearing most is right where I would pick the bag up and whip it around my shoulders. I would love to tell you that since this, I’ve begun to be gentler and more careful, but I’m not one to lie, and that would most certainly be a lie.

This bag borderline started my professional career with me, as I got it when I was still in college and semi-pro. Since then, I’ve used it and abused it in just about every way imaginable. The fabric has held up, as have the zippers, compartments, and everything besides the stitching on the straps. I’ve even used it as a combination laptop/overnight bag before, if I was going on a short trip, so it offered more than just being a traditional travel camera bag. Nevertheless, I’ve taken it on planes, trains, and yes, even automobiles…sorry, I had to.

At this point, I know this bag’s days are numbered, but I can't help but feel a sense of attachment. It’s been with me through the highs and lows of my career, from my first professional gigs to countless adventures. Every tear in the fabric and fray in the stitching tells a story of the miles traveled and the memories captured. Though I may eventually have to retire it, this bag will always hold a special place in my journey. It’s more than just a bag—it’s been a trusted companion, carrying not only my gear but the weight of years of experience. When the time comes to let it go, it will have earned its rest.

Sustainable personal care habits may begin at home—but that doesn’t mean you should forego your earth-friendly routine when you’re out exploring it. While it may seem more difficult to maintain sustainable practices while on the road, it’s actually easier than packing a conventional carry-on—if you know the right tricks.

Most eco-friendly products opt for minimal packaging and fewer ingredients, which means getting creative with the make and medium. This also means that you’ll be able to forego conventional liquid-based personal care products—which can be a hassle at customs—and actually fit more of what you need in your dopp kit or cosmetic bag (or save space for one-of-a-kind souvenirs!).

Here’s how to pack a sustainable cosmetic bag for travel:

Ditch the aerosol sunscreen

No matter where you’re traveling (even if it’s just across town), it’s important to be mindful of the sunscreen you choose to use. Aerosol sunscreen may seem convenient in theory, but the amount of wasted product that flies past your skin and into the air and surrounding grass or sand is astonishing.

Instead, opt for traditional sunscreen. Most modern sunscreens rub in just as easily as an aerosol but instead of floating into the air, will actually make it to your skin. When shopping for sunscreen, read the label, and avoid Oxybenzone and Octinoxate, which causes harm to coral reefs and are banned in many countries.

Skip on mini toothpaste

Mini toothpaste tubes are cute, and, yes, convenient too, but how many brushes do you really get out of that little tube? Maybe a week’s worth before you throw it away? While we’re not suggesting you forego brushing your teeth while on the road, we definitely think there’s a better way to keep up with your oral hygiene without being wasteful.

Reconsider your face wipes

Anyone who has traveled on a long flight will agree: face wipes are the real MVP—but, unfortunately, they’re a straight-to-the-landfill product that isn’t doing the environment any favors. According to the FDA, face wipes are made from things like polyester, polypropylene, cotton, wood pulp, and rayon fibers—many of which are not biodegradable. But don’t worry: these days there are handfuls of eco-friendly options that will work just as well as your beloved one-use wipes. Opt for a cloth made from natural fibers that you can simply wash and reuse instead.

Choose bar soap over liquid

Whether at home or while travelling, stop buying your soap or shampoo in plastic bottles—instead, switch back to old fashioned bar soap and shampoo bars. Not only do bar soaps allow for an easy time going through airport security (they’re not a liquid, gel, or aerosol, and can stay in your bag!), they last longer and come with no packaging so not only are they more sustainable, they’re more economical.

Invest in a safety razor

Disposable razors are no friend to the environment. Most of the time they last for just one or two shaves before being thrown away—and not in the recycling. Most disposable razors are made of plastic and cannot be recycled as they are because of all the different types of plastics, rubbers and metals used to create the razor.

If you’re still using disposable razors when you travel, consider switching to safety razor. Many people don’t know that reusable razors are allowed to be brought in a carry-on bag, so there’s no need to pick up a pack of disposables once you reach your destination. What’s more, a one-time razor purchase is much more economical than constantly buying packs of disposables. It’s a win-win.

Don’t forget your essential oils

While packing an essential oil may not seem like a necessity, it’s actually a great remedy to have on hand—especially peppermint or eucalyptus. Most people find that a few drops of peppermint essential oil will alleviate headaches and migraines, while eucalyptus will help with any stress or anxiety that can sometimes accompany long travel days. It’s a great alternative to packing a travel-sized container of Advil or Tylenol.
