Popular Searches

As you've probably noticed, words related to " tour " are listed above. Hopefully the generated list of term related words above suit your needs.

P.S. There are some problems that I'm aware of, but can't currently fix (because they are out of the scope of this project). The main one is that individual words can have many different senses (meanings), so when you search for a word like mean , the engine doesn't know which definition you're referring to ("bullies are mean " vs. "what do you mean ?", etc.), so consider that your search query for words like term may be a bit ambiguous to the engine in that sense, and the related terms that are returned may reflect this. You might also be wondering: What type of word is ~term~ ?

Also check out tour words on relatedwords.io for another source of associations.

Related Words runs on several different algorithms which compete to get their results higher in the list. One such algorithm uses word embedding to convert words into many dimensional vectors which represent their meanings. The vectors of the words in your query are compared to a huge database of of pre-computed vectors to find similar words. Another algorithm crawls through Concept Net to find words which have some meaningful relationship with your query. These algorithms, and several more, are what allows Related Words to give you... related words - rather than just direct synonyms.

As well as finding words related to other words, you can enter phrases and it should give you related words and phrases, so long as the phrase/sentence you entered isn't too long. You will probably get some weird results every now and then - that's just the nature of the engine in its current state.

Special thanks to the contributors of the open-source code that was used to bring you this list of tour themed words: @Planeshifter , @HubSpot , Concept Net , WordNet , and @mongodb .

There is still lots of work to be done to get this to give consistently good results, but I think it's at the stage where it could be useful to people, which is why I released it.

I often feel this way when I pass groups of strangers, speaking a language that is completely foreign to me, and realise just how incredibly big the world is. We all have a life that is full of different connections, memories and possibilities. That’s sonder.

Thank you so much for sharing this Heba. So interesting to learn that Dutch has a similar word :)

So many of these describe me or my feelings about seeing the world. But, if I had to pick one, the one that best describes how I choose my destinations would be “selcouth”. I so want to be a stranger in a strange land. To have my belief that there is no such thing as “normal” affirmed again and again and over again.

What a beautiful word. Thanks for sharing, Janet :)

4 tour stars switched drivers — and something special happened

  • Follow on Twitter
  • Follow on Instagram

TaylorMade's Qi10 driver has made some of the best pros in the world even better this season.

Jonathan Wall/GOLF

It all started with a story on Scottie Scheffler’s driver . That’s how things usually go these days. Highlight the equipment used by the best player in the world and you’re bound to find an interesting gear angle or two.

In this case, I happened to find four while sifting through Scheffler’s stats. Four players, to be exact.

Scheffler’s driver change has been well documented on GOLF.com , but it’s always important to revisit the numbers during a potentially historic season to see where the real improvements lie. At the midway point of the year, I decided to go back and take a closer look at Scheffler’s driving stats to pinpoint the areas of growth.

PGA Tour pro Scottie Scheffler watches drive at 2024 U.S. Open

Considering Scheffler led the Tour in Strokes Gained: Off-the-tee during the 2022-23 campaign, I figured there wouldn’t be much in the way of noticeable improvements. It’s difficult to go beyond the apex when you’re already leading the way in a statistical category. That was until I happened upon Scheffler’s driving accuracy percentage.

In a sport where the “bomb and gouge” playbook is encouraged to gain an edge, finding the short grass with regularity has become a lost art. Getting the ball closer to the green is the priority. Finding the fairway is for those who can’t mash it into oblivion.

What makes Scheffler such a rare breed is his ability to do both. Last season, Scheffler averaged 310.3 yards and hit the fairway at a 62 percent clip. Outside of Ludvig Åberg, who boasted similar driving distance (317.1 yards) and accuracy (65 percent) numbers to Scheffler, few came close to replicating the rare combination of prodigious distance and pinpoint accuracy.

TaylorMade Qi10 Custom Driver

“He had probably the best driver he’s ever had in his life [last season], which is saying something considering how well he’s driven it in recent years,” TaylorMade Tour rep Adrian Rietveld told GOLF.com. “You’ve got a player who’s leading accuracy stats and in the top 5 percent in distance. And you’ve got to play against that combination each week. It’s terrifying the energy you’d need to keep up with Scottie [off the tee].”

Adding to the list of things that make Scheffler terrifying to his peers is the realization that he became even more accurate in the last six months. While perusing the 28-year-old’s stats, I realized Scheffler had gone from hitting 62.09 percent of his fairways to 71.99 percent. Improving nearly 10 percent in any category is going to make you stand up and take notice.

Scheffler’s driving distance took a slight dip (303 yards), but he’s turned out to be even more lethal when he spends more time in the fairway. What a revelation! Tightening overall dispersion — combined with his ability to make more putts — has turned him into a glorified Iron Byron. (The swing robot , not the Texas legend.)

Curious if other TaylorMade staffers had seen similar improvements in accuracy since switching to the Qi10 driver line, I dug into the numbers for Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood and Collin Morikawa to see how they stacked up. If one player is a potential aberration, four is the beginning of a Tour trend.

Not only did the three pros mentioned above see improvements in accuracy since switching to Qi10, but they all improved by 10 percent or more in the accuracy department. McIlroy has been 15 percent better this season (53 percent in 2023 versus 68 percent in 2024) and Fleetwood has improved by 14 percent during the same period. All four currently find themselves inside the top 25 in driving accuracy. (It’s also worth pointing out that Morikawa and Fleetwood use Qi10 LS, while Scheffler and McIlroy use Qi10, so this isn’t one particular model overshadowing the others.)

taylormade qi10 robot

Even more impressive? Morikawa leads in accuracy while McIlroy still tops the charts in driving distance. Similar to Scheffler, there hasn’t been a drop-off in other areas with a tighter dispersion.

As far as the “why” behind the improved dispersion, look no further than GOLF’s data insights from Qi10 robotic testing. The 9-point test revealed Qi10 was noticeably better than Stealth 2 in several areas, most notably when minimizing toe misses.

After seeing high-toe misses lose an average of 3.4 yards (across all three models at 10.5 degrees) with Stealth, the number doubled last year to 6.8 yards with Stealth 2. Losing almost 7 yards on a high-toe strike isn’t reason for concern, but no manufacturer wants to go backward.

Not only did TaylorMade engineers fix the recent high-toe slide, they also produced a Qi10 driver lineup that negates one of the most common misses. Looking strictly at 10.5-degree Qi10 heads — 2024 represents the first year GOLF has tested all lofts — high-toe misses gained  distance, to the tune of 2.2 yards.

It’s a staggering number that highlights the significant improvements made to the carbon twist face construction.

Along with providing impressive ball speed protection on high-toe misses, the 12-degree Qi10, Qi10 Max and 10.5-degree Qi10 saw distance decrease by 6 yards or less across all 9 points on the face at 95 mph. Pros are swinging it significantly faster than the average swing speed used for our testing, but it’s safe to assume they’re seeing improved ball speed numbers across the entire face, leading to distances more closely resembling what they might see on a center strike.

It’s a lethal driver combination that’s making some of the best players in the world even better.

Travel along the same trail the pioneers did on this expert-led tour

By southwest adventure tours | posted - june 22, 2024 at 11:30 a.m., (southwest adventure tours).

Estimated read time: 5-6 minutes

If you've ever wanted to travel the same path Utah pioneers walked and walked and walked, this expert-led tour is one you can't miss. Ride across the plains of the midwest as you listen to professional storytellers Glenn Rawson and Dennis Lyman give in-depth history of the saints as they trekked through the country.

The Mormon Pioneer Trail Tour focuses entirely on Latter-day Saint pioneer history, and your guides are a wealth of knowledge on the topic.

Rawson has spent 15 years immersed in pioneer history. He's made Church history documentaries, authored three (almost four) books, hosted a podcast for three years about pioneer stories and produced 500 to 600 full-production videos about pioneers on the trail as well.

He also knows all about the people who traversed this trail and died along the way. Every mile marks a burial of at least one pioneer — and he can tell you about all of them.

But don't worry — it's not a historical lecture. It's intended to be an edifying and spiritual lecture.

A few of the sites you'll see

The first tour will journey from Salt Lake City to Nauvoo by bus, stopping at all the major sites and landmarks along the trail until you reach Nauvoo. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to journey with two people who know the history of this trail inside and out.

Here's just a snapshot of some of the major sites you'll see on the tour:

  • Journey along the Mormon Trail
  • Fort Laramie National Historic Site
  • Scottsbluff National Monument
  • Chimney Rock National Monument
  • Tour the Mormon Trail Center at Winter Quarters
  • Mark Twain Riverboat Cruise
  • Historic Liberty Jail

When it comes to digging into the history of early members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Rawson and Lyman are the go-to guys. You might have caught their shows, such as "History of The Saints" or "The Joseph Smith Papers," airing on KSL-TV and BYU-TV. They're all about bringing those early church stories to life for audiences everywhere.

They also happen to be pretty amazing teachers and speakers. These two have been sharing stories and insights for years, whether it's on the airwaves or at events like BYU Education Week. Their passion for storytelling makes history feel real and relatable.

The pioneer trail tour is a chance for you to learn about the settlers' history in an intimate setting. They invite you to join them as you stand in the ruts of the trail — literally and figuratively — while they regale you with stories of the people, places and events that made that part of history sacred.

What's included

Both the East Bound Mormon Trail tour and the West Bound Mormon Trail tour cost $2,360 per person when someone else books with you. To save even more, a group of three costs $2,230 and a group of four is $2,165. There are solo traveler options available, just visit the Southwest Adventure Tours website to learn more.

Here's what's included in the cost of the tour:

  • Comfortable transportation on a luxury bus
  • Six nights hotel accommodations
  • Six breakfasts, two lunches and four dinners
  • A Mark Twain Riverboat Dinner Cruise
  • Gratuities for included meals
  • Gratuities for the bus driver

Airfare is not included.

The East Bound Mormon Trail tour, which departs from Salt Lake and makes its way to Nauvoo, will be September 14-20 this year. Should you prefer to make your way from Nauvoo back to Salt Lake instead, the West Bound tour is September 20-26.

More about your guides

In addition to his podcasts and tv shows, Rawson's involvement in the history and teaching of Latter-day Saint history are widespread. With nearly two decades as a seminary and institute teacher, he's a natural educator and captivating fireside speaker. His expertise has graced platforms like BYU Education Week and Know Your Religion, while his stories have touched hearts through radio programs and beyond.

Lyman, Rawson's co-host is the visionary behind breathtaking documentaries on pioneer temples and the co-creator of "History of The Saints." With a rich broadcasting history and a lineage deeply rooted in Latter-day Saint heritage, Lyman brings stories to life through his lens, preserving legacies for generations to come.

Together, Rawson and Lyman weave tales of faith, history, and humanity, leaving an indelible mark on those who listen.

Enjoy an edifying and spiritual experience on the Pioneer Trail

This isn't just like any regular tour. Guided by fun, engaging and knowledgeable tour hosts, you'll walk the same path as those who came before you and hearing their stories will deepen your appreciation for them. There's a good chance you'll never be the same — and that's a good thing.

Joe Dean continues remarkable 2024 with Open qualification

Joe Dean 's fairytale 2024 continued as he secured a place in the field for next month's Open Championship at Royal Troon.

Joe Dean

The Englishman lost out in a three-man play-off at the KLM Open to Guido Migliozzi - who also earned a spot in the season's final Major Championship - with Dean's superior Official World Golf Ranking sending him to Scotland over Swede Marcus Kinhult.

Dean has played at The Open before, going through Qualifying to finish 70th at Birkdale in 2017 but much has happened in his career since then, with Dean himself describing it as a "tough few years".

The 29-year-old was playing two-round tournaments last year, when he came through all three stages of the Qualifying School to earn himself a maiden season on the DP World Tour.

However, he did not tee it up until the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters in February due to financial constraints and was driving a delivery van for UK supermarket Morrisons the week before he finished second at the Magical Kenya Open.

Since then he has also finished in the top five at the Soudal Open and his KLM Open result moves him to 30th on the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex .

And now, he will tee it up in the oldest Major Championship alongside the man who beat him with a birdie on the second play-off hole at The International.

Migliozzi is playing his fourth Open after missing the cut in 2021 and 2022 and finishing in a tie for 64th in 2023.

Guido Migliozzi

"It was one of my main goals this year to be part of that," he said. "It's just incredible and it's beautiful to compete at The Open.

"The Open is so special, it's probably the tournament. It's a dream to play and it would be a bigger dream to hold the Claret Jug.

"To play at a beautiful golf course like Troon it will be special. I can't wait to tee it up at The Open."

Sports columnists | renck: wyndham clark returns to castle pines a star. don’t be surprised if he “plays big” in bmw event in august, clark’s mother continues to provide inspiration as former valor christian state champ makes mark on pga tour.

Wyndham Clark tees off on the first hole during the final round of the Travelers Championship golf tournament at TPC River Highlands, Sunday, June 23, 2024, in Cromwell, Conn. (AP Photo/Seth Wenig)

The summer after his sophomore year in college in 2013, Clark withdrew from the Western Amateur to return to Colorado. His mother, Lise, weakened by multiple battles with breast cancer, felt life emptying from her body. She supported her three children in so many ways, always seeing a future of them reaching their full potential. She offered advice for Wyndham.

“Her whole slogan was ‘Play Big.’ And it has always stuck with me,” Clark told The Denver Post. “And it was literally what she told me on her deathbed.”

Losing his mom sent Clark into a spiral. Always known for being a great teammate but too critical of his own game, Clark was ready to quit when he was unable to talk with his mom after events. He was burned out. But Lise, a former Miss New Mexico in 1981, was still speaking to him, speaking his success into existence even if at times it went unheard.

Clark left Oklahoma State and revived his career at Oregon, given a reboot by coach Casey Martin and his assistant John Ellis. Ellis saw himself in Clark, a talented golfer who struggled with his temper and confidence. He became a rudder as Clark won Pac 12 Player of the Year honors and realized his mother’s dream for him of reaching the PGA Tour.

“Early on, (her passing) really affected me. Now, as I get farther removed from it, I think of all the great things that she did for me. I try to honor her in everything I do,” Clark, 30, said. “She knew I would be on this platform and that I could really inspire people and play golf for something greater than myself.”

It is what made Tuesday so special.

Clark returned to Colorado for the BMW Championship news conference at the Castle Pines Golf Club. He has never played in his home state on tour in front of family and friends. As such, Clark will be part ambassador, part tour guide, and part dream crusher when the tournament featuring the Tour’s top 50 players unfolds Aug. 20-25.

“There is a little bit of pressure,” Clark said. “I feel like I am learning how to handle it. Regardless, I am going to enjoy the week.”

It was on this course Clark fell in love with golf, watching stars David Duval, Retief Goosen and Ernie Els compete on the ninth hole of The International, the unique tour event that used the Stableford scoring system.

“That’s when I knew I wanted to do this,” said Clark, whose father, Randall, stressed the family budget by becoming a member at Cherry Hills Golf Club to help his son nurture his game. “I hope to inspire young people. I have an ear for younger kids when they are out there, cheering my name because I was that kid. You just feel so special when you walk inside these gates. You enjoy Colorado’s finest. The course is in perfect shape. The food is amazing. The milkshakes are amazing. And the views are spectacular.”

After years of grinding, after nearly losing his tour card a few times, Clark now looks down on the competition with a No. 5 world ranking. He won the U.S. Open in 2023, played in the Ryder Cup and will represent Team USA in the upcoming Paris Olympics. It has been a remarkable journey. Clark no longer runs mental lapses, his mind matching his elite, physical talent.

“We are all very skilled out here,” Clark said. “The difference between the top players and guys that are not top players is that ability to be able to focus on every shot and to be able to overcome adversity and the pressure.”

Ellis, 44, deserves credit. He left Oregon with Clark to become his caddie. On the bag, he is part coach, part couch. He pushes Clark to avoid paralysis by analysis.

“He always tells me, ‘Be an athlete.’ That is a constant reminder to me to not get too technical thinking about all the angles and dangles of golf,” Clark said. “There are so many thoughts that people put into your brain in golf. Your mind gets cluttered. And he just says, ‘Hey we have to put the ball in this spot and that hole. It just doesn’t matter how you do it, just do it faster than anyone else.’”

Clark has no problem thinking of himself as an athlete. There was a time he believed he was destined for stardom on the Valor Christian High School hoops team. The way he remembers it he was a better point guard than classmate Christian McCaffrey. McCaffrey disputes this notion. Even though the two are huge fans of each other’s careers, they cannot resist jabs. Told that McCaffrey might have passed his exploits by winning the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year in 2023, Clark blurted, “But he’s not an Olympian.”

While too many golfers are only interesting when they have a club in their hands, Clark is authentic, vulnerable and funny. He felt snubbed that he never had the opportunity to play a tour event in Colorado as a top junior or college star. That changes in two months. It offers a chance for the country to see our state beyond mountains, skiing and the big four professional sports.

Given the calendar and the urgency of the FedEx Cup race, it will feel like a major. It will be huge.

Don’t be surprised if Clark “Plays Big.”
