The show was originally scheduled for September 6 at the Ocean City Performing Arts Center.

It will now be held June 12, 2022, at that venue.

The concert starring the country-music star is being moved "due to sponsor concerns," which prompted event promoters to reschedule, says the Performing Arts Center.

Brad Paisley on COVID-19 canceling his tour but sparking a new initiative to help others

VIDEO: ‘The Year’ with Robin Roberts | Tuesday, Dec. 29th at 9|8c on ABC

Brad Paisley was holding back tears as he sang his hit song "Last Time for Everything" to thousands of fans during a show in Canada in March.

The country music star could feel the gravity of that song because he knew as soon as he walked off stage that his world tour was over. The growing COVID-19 pandemic was shutting everything down.

Not only was virus itself terrifying, but ending a tour only two weeks after it started, without knowing when they could perform again, was going to be a huge financial hit for everyone, from the band and crew to the tour managers and music studios.

"I can barely sing it because I knew," Paisley said in an interview for the ABC News special, "The Year: 2020." "I didn't know it [was] going to be this long, but ... if I had known that, I would have broken down sobbing, not been able to sing it."

"It was hard to get through," he continued. "[It] got emotional for me when we said goodnight that night, and here it is, December, and we haven't done anything like that [show]."

Watch "The Year: 2020" on Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.

Over the following weeks, Paisley and his family watched with the rest of the world as the pandemic and resulting shutdowns wreaked havoc on people's lives and the economy. COVID-19 shutdowns have devastated the music and live entertainment industry as concert venues remain closed.

To date, over 300,000 Americans have died from the coronavirus . Nearly 11 million Americans remain unemployed, according to the U.S. Department of Labor's most recent data from November.

"I found myself really scared in the beginning of this," Paisley said. "It really hit me that a lot of people were probably going to die... The sadness of that hit me pretty hard."

Seeing an entire year's worth of shows planned for his 2020 World Tour evaporate from his schedule hit him "like a ton of bricks," he said. He can release music, Paisley added, but not being able to tour to promote it is a huge financial hit for everyone from the crews to the studios.

Paisley said that fear and helplessness is what led him and his wife, actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley, to launch new initiatives around food insecurity and food assistance.

In March, they opened a free year-round grocery store -- called The Store -- in Nashville to help needy families. There is no charge to those referred or to the people and agencies that send them, according to its website.

Then, in September, they pledged to donate one million meals to food banks in 16 major cities. The couple and their food brand, Tiller & Hatch, worked with nonprofit Feeding America on the initiative, which was called the Million Meals Donation Tour.

"When we're delivering food or doing something that's helping, I feel less helpless," Paisley said. "For me, it was all about trying to find something that really felt like we were going to get through this."

For Paisley, music continues to be "medicine for the soul." Like several other country stars, he has performed and connected with fans virtually, streaming "quarantine concerts" from his Tennessee home and collaborating on Zoom with Darius Rucker, Carrie Underwood and other artists.

"I would have never done [the quarantine concerts] in a normal year," Paisley said. "I would have never said 'Hey, here's my home. Here's my studio. I'm gonna play for you here." My dad was running the camera [and] my wife was running another camera for a couple of these."

Looking ahead to the future, one thing Paisley said he and his fellow artists will never take for granted again is being able to play live shows in front of their fans.

"The importance of music is glaringly obvious in ... times of crisis," he said. "I hope as a musician that we all sort of rise out of this and create music that helps us through the end of this thing."

David Archuleta

On the heels of postponing his OK , All Right tour, season 2 “Star Search 2” winner and season 7 “American Idol” runner-up David Archuleta has officially canceled his tour, citing a ruptured vocal cord. Archuleta announced on Instagram that “after lots of thought and consideration with my team and the venues, we have decided to cancel the OK, All Right tour.”

Archuleta had hoped that 10 days of vocal rest would allow him to restart performances, but he wrote, “I’m going to follow the doctor’s guidance on how long it will be. … It’s going to require a lot more time than I originally anticipated.” Archuleta had postponed a number of concerts, including one set for the Bing Crosby Theater on Feb. 17.

Archuleta recently posted an emotional 51-minute video on Instagram discussing his intention to live a more authentic life as a gay man. Archuleta, 31, came out in June and discussed being torn between being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his sexuality. “I can no longer … pretend like everything’s fine,” he said.

Brad Douglas Paisley (born October 28th, 1972), better known simply as Brad Paisley, is an American singer-songwriter, specializing in country music. He hails from Glen Dale, West Virginia.

Paisley released his debut album, ‘Who Needs Pictures’, in 1999, at the age of 26. If that sounds young by general standards, Paisley must already have felt ancient by that age, at least in terms of how long his musical life had been going on; he’d been playing country music, in one form or another, pretty much all his life, from his early days singing at family parties to being picked up as a weekly performer on local radio in his teens.

Back then, he could only really have dreamed about what was to come; he can now lay claim to having sold in excess of twelve million records worldwide, with three Grammy Awards to his name, two American Music Awards, and the ultimate honour of American country music having been bestowed upon him – he was inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2001 – the youngest member ever to join. Paisley continues to tour and record, with his frequent humorous references to popular culture in his lyrics having become his calling card over the years; not to mention, of course, his iconic cowboy hat, a staple of his live performances. He’s released more than ten studio albums, including his own Christmas record.

Live reviews

I saw Brad Paisley for the first time in May 2013 at PNC Arts Center. I had wanted to see him for quite some time and was thrilled when I found out he was kicking off the Country Megaticket Series at PNC. The concert was fantastic. We had lower right side orchestra seating. We were towards the back of the section but the stage had a semi-circle area in the middle of the orchestra section so Brad Paisley was actually quite a bit closer to us throughout the concert. He is a great entertainer and a fantastic singer. I loved that he mixed his older hits with his new album, especially when he played "He Didn't Have To Be," a song he wrote for his song co-writer and the guy's stepson and the first song that turned me onto Brad Paisley back in the 90s. There was also a point in the concert where he gifted one of his guitars to a young fan in front of the stage. And later he traveled up through the crowd to play behind us for the people out on the lawn. He was so involved with the audience and so appreciative, it was one of the best concerts I have ever seen and certainly an amazing first time seeing him. And his performance of "Remind Me" with Carrie Underwood's hologram was really neat to see too. I highly recommend seeing Brad Paisley in concert! You will not be disappointed!

One of America's most celebrated country stars Brad Paisley is an engaging and dedicated live performer. Brad has had an incredibly successful career on the US country charts and has been awarded numerous Grammy awards and Country Music awards so picking a setlist for a tour is a difficult process.

From the sound of applause and cheers as he appears though one gets the impression any choice will be a delight to his dedicated fan base. He begins with a brilliant rendition of 'Mountain Dew' supported by his tight backing band who he jams with throughout. Shortly following this with a string of hit singles in rapid succession including 'The World', 'Mud on the Tires' and 'Ticks'.

Selecting both the hits and some of Paisley and his band's favourite tracks to play live, the audience are enthusiastic throughout as they are treated to a selection of his best country works. Brad is an endearing performer who seems genuinely happy to be playing to such warm crowds and adores the affection as he resonates it back through his music.

As usual Brad didn't disappoint his fans. He put on an awesome show and was even more special by sharing the night with my lovely daughter. I hope she enjoyed the time we spent together as much as I did as I never got to do fun things with my mother since she passed away from cancer at the young age of 44 and 10 days before the birth of my son which would have been her first grandchild! I took her to her first country music fest and concert and she is enjoying many of them but with her friends as mom has slowed down and not the party animal anymore. What I like about Brad's shows is he appeals to a wide variety of people and ages. In my book he is getting better the longer he does them and the videos are great! Hope to see more of them in the future and hopefully we can take the granddaughters someday!

We have seen Brad in the past and last. Ugh this was no exception to a great show! He always brings the party with him. Brad Rios on his guitars but his warm up bands also got the crowd going. Brad moves around a lot bringing the crowd into his show. He moves around the entire venue so everyone has a chance for an up front experience

Brad embraces the crowds desires for pics and selfies and posses as he plays. As is his tradition he gives a guitar to a child in the stands and he did that last night

The show had the same energy as shows past but had a new feel to it. He was "crushin' it".

This concert was the best concert of the season. I have to say this but he was better than Luke Bryan. He interacted with the audience way more than every other cencert i have been to. He walked in the audience (right in front of me). It was so amazing I loved it. He facetimed Carrie Underwood, but im not sure if it was real or fake. It was definitely the most amazing concert I have ever been to! He gave like 4 gutars to the fans and a jersy then his hat. I was very pleased with how it ended up. It was defenatly worth the money. I would defenatly recomend this concet.

S_sladyk’s profile image

Brad ripped with the crowd at Shoreline! On our feet from the first lick and it kept going. He wondered the venue through his sets and took time the engage the audience. Gave away 2 guitars and his hat during the evening. As always Carrie Underwood joined him electronically. The show had a lot of energy but the crowd picked it up to a fever pitch with Crushing It.

Opener Justine Moore keeps improving over the years. He had the crowd with him as he paid a tribute to the U.S. Troops. Justine later joined Brad in one of Brad's songs.

Brad put on a fantastic concert. My husband who hates concerts but has become my country concert buddy was very impressed with him, as he was with Kenny Chesney. Brad never leaves without you realizing he has put his fans first. AND he does realize that we his fans are as important to him as he is to us.

I am happy to say he is coming back again in the summer and it is not when I am out of town for KC concerts...Yaaa

And thank you for sharing your talent with us.

It’s the first time I’ve been to see Brad Paisley. I expected a good show, but it really was fantastic. Exceeded all my expectations. Brad is a natural entertainer and has the audience captivated from

Start to finish. He was so appreciative of his audience. And Keith Urban as a surprise guest??! Just wow! I had a great night and can’t wait for him to come back to London again. I’ll definitely be buying tickets.

gilligan.s’s profile image

Sheer brilliance. From the second Brad bounded on stage the energy was amazing, he had the whole crowd on their feet dancing and singing along to every song. I would definitely recommend and can't wait until he's back in the UK so I can see him again. Oh and the icing on the cake Keith Urban made a surprise appearance to jam with him. Probably one of the best shows I've ever seen. Can't rate him high enough.

Awesome, Wonderful, Amazing, Fantastic! Brad Paisley is a great entertainer. He made personalized the concert to Dekalb . He slipped "Dekalb" and the " NIU Huskies" into a couple songs and included them into the videos also. The Swon Brothers and Parmalee were great also. They were all great!

If you find yourself tempted, as so many are, to post a gloating comment, please try NOT doing it.

Such comments, though the anger driving them is surely understandable, are ugly, and divisive. in other words, they are exactly like the vicious comments that the “vaccinated” make about the rest of us—and (worse yet) they express the same contemptuous hatred that the authors of this horror feel toward all the rest of us, whether jabbed or not., united states, pink issues health update after cancelling concert day-of: 'very sorry'.

Two weeks after resuming his tour with Blink-182, Travis Barker has shared an unfortunate health update . On the evening of Friday, Sept. 23, the drummer uploaded a photo of himself holding a positive at-home COVID test to his Instagram story, as seen reuploaded by a fan account. He reacted to the confirmation that he has the virus with a collection of emojis: "🤒😵🥴." The 44-year-old didn't share further details about his illness , but, luckily, it appears that Barker will have enough time to recover before the band's next show; the band is currently on a brief break until Monday, Oct. 2, where they're slated to perform in Lisboa, Portugal. The band will then return home after playing at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds on Oct. 22, without having to return to the road until February 2024. Barker's wife Kourtney Kardashian has yet to comment on his health status but remains home in Los Angeles.

In October 2022 , My Three Sons star, Dawn Lyn [ 59 ], experienced a severe health challenge that required her to undergo a brain tumor removal surgery . Sadly, things took a different turn for the actress as she didn’t recover from the effect of the anesthesia used during the surgery. Amidst Lyn’s health development, her My Three Sons co-star, Stanley Livingston, provided an update during an interview with Fox News Digital. He shared that the actress is currently in a phase of recovery, and there is an optimistic outlook that she will regain her health and be back on her feet in months .

Help [thom hartmann staffer] joyce pay bills following cancer diagnosis.

Hi, my name is Chloe and I'm fundraising for my mom Joyce Nance to help her pay her bills following devastating stage 4 lung cancer diagnosis. She was working at the Thom Hartmann Program right up to the day she was diagnosed . She is a life-long nonsmoker and a super healthy person that could not have been more blindsided by this diagnosis. The cancer has already spread to her bones and she is in pain much of the time. She starts radiation next week. Without her employment income she does not have enough to pay her bills and needs this money to be able to stay in her apartment as well as many other expenses. Update: My mom saw the oncologist today and she qualifies for Tagrisso—a prescription immunotherapy drug that will target the cancer cells directly. This was the news that we were hoping we would hear going to the oncologist today because this treatment does not cause horrible side effects like hair loss, non-stop nausea, and those other unsavory side effects that go with chemotherapy. Bad news. This drug costs $18,000 a month and mom has been told that her portion will be $3,170 a month .

Hartmann: Bring on the Vaccinated Freedom Passports and Protects Us From the Unvaccinated COVID Lepers

By Thom Hartmann

August 14, 2021

Let the unvaccinated form their own leper colonies and leave the rest of us safe. (Jernej Furman)

Now that the Pfizer vaccine has received full approval and is widely available across the US, it’s time to back it up with a vaccine passport.

Those of us who did the right thing and got vaccinated are sick and tired of living a half-life because of all the covidiots out there who refuse to get vaccinated. Let them “stand on the outside” of American business and society “looking in” for a change.

No shoes, no shirt, no vaccine passport, no service .

Castellina in Chianti - American tourist collapses at restaurant.

24 September 2023 is a date that Francesco Landi, thirty-year-old from Castellina in Chianti, owner of the historic restaurant 'Il Cantuccio' in the central Via Ferruccio in the ancient heart of the town, will remember forever. Together with his young staff, he saved the life of a 50-year-old American tourist who was spending a quiet afternoon in his restaurant yesterday, together with other people from the States. The illness came suddenly for the tourist. Moments of tension, fear, then the joy of having succeeded in a miracle: "There were two couples,” said Francesco Landi, known to his friends as 'Bogart' last night, “one of the two gentlemen felt ill, collapsed and closed his eyes. We really feared for his life . We immediately called 118, then thank God a doctor passed in front of the club and gave him a cardiac massage . The other three who were in the club called people from their group, among them there was an emergency room doctor in the United States, who immediately helped. When 118 arrived, he told them about the medicines that the gentleman who was taken ill was taking, I translated. They were difficult moments, we were afraid he wouldn't make it. The two young people who work with me here at Cantuccio ran at breakneck speed to the school and got the defibrillator. This also helped a lot."

Without the quick and persistent actions of the nearby health professionals, Woodman probably wouldn’t be alive today. The two nurses along with the other health care workers took turns doing chest compressions and bystanders helped keep count for them before EMS arrived.

‘We have the ability to limit the number of people who get sick. So I can handle pushback from anyone refusing that, because I believe I am correct,’ Jason Isbell says.

‘We aren’t all dumb hillbillies’: how Covid caused a rift in country music

Country stars such as Jason Isbell have received backlash for insisting on safety at their concerts, exposing an age-old political divide

T he Covid-19 culture war has a new front: country music. Be it the Nashville establishment or up-and-comers in adjacent roots, folk and Americana genres, numerous artists are taking a stand about concert pandemic precautions, often along partisan lines. Jason Isbell has become one of the most prominent musicians to step into the fray. The Grammy-winning independent alt-country artist – who has released acclaimed albums like Southeastern and last year’s Reunions – rowed with some venues and vitriolic Twitter users, while also eliciting praise, after announcing on 9 August that proof of a Covid-19 vaccination or a negative test was mandatory for his show-goers.

“We have the ability to limit the number of people who get sick. So I can handle pushback from anyone refusing that, because I believe I am correct,” Isbell said.

If venues don’t comply, he has vowed not to play, leading to a canceled show and a relocated one . When asked about the canceled performance, the president and CEO of Houston’s Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion said they commended Isbell and wanted to implement his measures, but were not allotted enough time, though Isbell has tweeted that is false and the venue “flat-out refused”.

It’s by no means the only dispute Isbell has taken head-on since his announcement – he also re-tweeted and rebuked numerous naysayers, who have called him everything from an “extreme leftist POS” to a rich elitist who is excluding marginalized fans.

Isbell is certainly not the only musician faced with Delta variant complications. While Eric Clapton recently refused to play concerts where proof of vaccination is required, Stevie Nicks scrapped her US tour because of pandemic spikes. Other acts as wide ranging as Dead & Co, Maroon 5 and Foo Fighters are requiring attendees to provide proof of vaccination. “We’re amplified when we’re united. And a lot of people have reached out to say they’re grateful we spoke out”, Isbell says.

Yet Isbell’s efforts in particular have become a lightning rod for a genre that not only had some of its popular acts defy concert pandemic restrictions, but also saw numerous fans rally behind racial slur-uttering artist Morgan Wallen . Back in 2015, conservative politician Ted Cruz praised country music for its nationalistic response to 9/11 .

Memphis singer-songwriter John Paul Keith – who has been acclaimed by American Songwriter, Lyric Magazine and more – says “I respect that Jason is taking the lead on this” despite the backlash. A savvy social media commentator, Keith also spoke out recently, after New Orleans Jazz Fest was canceled, tweeting that the pandemic is jeopardizing not only lives but also musicians’ incomes. He knows several double-vaccinated musicians who needed to postpone tours this summer because of exposure or breakthrough cases.

John Paul Keith

“This is entirely the fault of the unvaccinated, and the politicians, clergy, and media figures who are lying to them,” Keith says. When asked if he was afraid of online firestorms like the one Isbell’s comments sparked, Keith says, “No, I’m worried about having to cancel my gigs, or getting a breakthrough case.” Although he is fully vaccinated, he frets at the prospect of scrapping the precious tour dates he has, because the pandemic has stifled opportunities to support his latest album. “A lot of independent artists and working musicians are not in a position to demand that the places they play require vaccines. If a bar band musician tries that, they may just find themselves out of a job.”

Austin songwriter Cari Hutson agrees that the precautions for her shows are driven primarily by everyone’s health and safety, with economic ramifications coming in a strong second place. “We are following CDC guidelines at our shows, to try and help keep our industry alive. Especially for small venues, because they’ve had a devastating year and a half,” she says. “We can’t afford to sit out shows, we have to vaccinate and mask up or everything we’ve worked our entire lives for will be gone. And it’s so upsetting to work so long on a craft and lose opportunities left and right, because people would rather believe vaccine conspiracy theories than at least try these precautions out,” she says.

While Isbell has enough stature to cancel shows at noncompliant venues, the option to axe an entire tour a la legacy acts like Nicks is not feasible for him, as he tweeted at a recent critic who suggested he follow the Fleetwood Mac singer’s lead. His retort ? She is “very rich.” Isbell told the Guardian that super-spreading concerts could lead to an economic doomsday scenario: “We want to keep working. And if we don’t do something to keep audiences safe, we’ll get locked back down, and a lot of people won’t financially survive.”

Keith says the rampant disregard for the physical and economic health of the industry stems from artists and fans that are not part of his scene. “It’s no secret that mainstream country music is, generally speaking, to the right of Americana. I don’t know any artists in the Americana world who are openly anti-vax,” he says. The largest jab-adverse faction in American music at the moment, in Keith’s view: “rightwing Christian musicians like Sean Feucht, who throw big super-spreader concerts and defy local safety measures”.

While Keith is happy to be in the camp of Hutson, Isbell and his current touring mate, Americana vet Lucinda Williams (who tweeted she was “proud to stand with him”), the Tennessee singer-songwriter admits to one concern about Isbell’s precautions. “I worry there will be a political backlash in Tennessee. Our Republican supermajority in the state legislature could pass a law to ban venues from requiring vaccination cards,” Keith says, adding that a current anti-mask campaign in the state’s schools leaves him certain “they will ban them everywhere if they can”.

A ‘Let us worship’ concert by Sean Feucht in January 2021.

But Isbell isn’t fazed by that prospect or other backlash beyond social media, saying his team will “do what it takes, and if that means going to court and arguing with a governor to convince people, then that’s what I’ll do to keep people safe. I have good lawyers, and I’m a good arguer myself,” Isbell says, adding that the loss of his friend and genre titan John Prine to Covid-19 last year is part of what propels him. He is also quick to point out that politicians playing to an anti-Covid precaution base are frequently vaccinated themselves .

Isbell’s efforts appeared to be vindicated on 12 August when AEG, the second largest concert promoter in the United States, began requiring proof of vaccination at its venues nationwide. And earlier this year, some of mainstream country’s biggest household names starred in a PSA promoting vaccination. A Los Angeles Times columnist praised Eric Church, Darius Rucker and Ashley McBryde for starring in that video, made by none other than the Academy of Country Music. The columnist also said “country music can help America get back to normal” if those stars’ many fans are persuaded to follow such anti-pandemic procedures.

This approach stands in stark contrast to country pop acts like Chase Rice and Chris Janson . They both drew large crowds to their concerts last summer during one of the pandemic’s peaks and Rice penned a song that appeared to criticise Covid-19 precautions while Janson posted an Instagram clip with the lyrics ‘We weren’t made to stay inside / I can’t watch my country die’. Keith, meanwhile, has criticised Brad Paisley, one of mainstream country’s most popular acts, for appearing in a tourism ad with Tennessee governor Bill Lee, who has opted against statewide mask mandates and whose state has one of the country’s lowest vaccination rates . “Country music and Christian music are the only genres to so openly embrace rightwing politics,” says Keith.

From the conduct of such artists, to the criticism of Isbell’s virus precautions, the pandemic has laid bare one of country music’s longest running divides. Before those ongoing rows, Isbell regularly traded barbs with right-leaning followers who implored him to focus on music and forget politics. In 2018, Canadian country music up-and-comer Donovan Woods (whose songs have been turned into smash hits by household names like Tim McGraw) was similarly criticised on social media for his quips about Ontario premier Doug Ford. In an interview he said : “I don’t think most people want entertainers to shut up and sing. Anybody who doesn’t understand that politics and music have always been bedfellows is kidding themselves.” A greater part of country lore occurred backstage at Willie Nelson’s 70th birthday concert in 2003, when a Nashville chart topper argued with elder singer-songwriter Kris Kristofferson about his “lefty shit”.

“There’s more than one kind of country singer, and if everyone outside our community learns we aren’t all big dumb hillbillies then that’ll be a nice side-effect to all this. But I’m not setting out to do that, I just want everyone to be safe,” says Isbell. “A lot of country stars look just like me. And we have a lot of white men in our audiences who feel disadvantaged these days. But if the music had been more inclusive of other stories, we’d have a broader cross section,” he says, before adding that this has compelled him to support female African American country singers like Adia Victoria, who has frequently opened for him.

Clifford Young, a pollster who worked on a 2019 Ipsos survey about country music and tribalism (among other matters), surprisingly determined that the genre was not as rightwing as assumed. While classic rock is the most popular and unifying type of music in the US, according to those results, country “only has a 15 percentage point partisan gap,” far below more divisive matters brought up in the survey. When asked what insights that survey gives him on the current country music chasm, Young says context is key. “There is a portion of the unvaccinated that are outright hostile to mandate or mandate-like measures,” he said. “We are seeing such reactions across the board, from school districts to companies to country music.”

Regardless of how it breaks down, Hutson says it is “infuriating” that vaccination and mask wearing “is seen as a political issue, rather than a health, or a human issue”. She maintains hope the divide will lessen so “we can follow these protocols and the virus improves. So we can move on. Because we can move on. But coming from a place of love is key”.
