Tours to the Holy Land: Trips & Israel Tour Packages 2024, 2025

"Every place we visited was breathtakingly beautiful, with stunning landscapes and rich historical and cultural heritage. We highly recommend visiting Israel to anyone who wants to experience an unforgettable journey. We had a life-changing time there and are already planning to return." Simon L. and Beatriz G. – Tour to Israel/Egypt/Jordan February 2024 "I had a wonderful time in Israel. I felt while I was there the precautions that were taken for our safety were well in hand. I still got to experience many holy sites and be blessed by walking the path that Jesus walked. Every day was started in prayer, singing, or scripture reading which also extended the blessing of the trip." Quincie L. – Tour to Israel/Egypt/Jordan February 2024

Our Israel tours & Holy Land tours of 9-24 days for the Evangelical Protestant Bible believer are what Pilgrim Tours does best. Prepare yourself for a life-changing journey to walk where Jesus walked and visit Jerusalem, Galilee, & Samaria. Each of our Israel tours is led by a local guide who is an experienced expert on the historical, cultural, scenic, and spiritual history of the Holy Land. If you travel with 10 or more people, a private group tour can easily be arranged. Pilgrim Tours can customize an itinerary to fit your group needs with many options to choose from.

Concerned about safety? As a Christian tour operator, the staff at Pilgrim Tours takes a Biblical perspective regarding the current situation in the Middle East. We do not believe that peace in Israel is something that will occur until the Prince of Peace comes to restore His kingdom. Please do not make a reservation with us based on the hopes of a calm future. If you long for the special blessings only available in Israel, we will take you there. An expert driver and guide will carefully keep you from any areas that could present a problem and treat you to the riches of Israel as our special guest.

Featured Sites in Israel

Explore a vast selection of beautiful historical and Biblical locations throughout Israel with our Israel Holy Land tour. You can visit Jerusalem, Galilee, and parts of Samaria, getting the life-changing opportunity to see where Jesus and many other Biblical figures lived and walked. We even offer Holy Land tours that allow you to see the Dead Sea, the Garden Tomb, and the Jordan River Baptism Site. Like all of our Europe tours , our Israel Holy Land tours are led by local guides who have extensive knowledge of the area and its history. If you want to experience the history of Israel and see the Bible come to life, our Holy Land tours give you that opportunity.

The city of Jerusalem offers a unique convergence of Judaism, Christianity, and the Muslim faith. For Christians who visit Jerusalem, you will learn about many stories of the Bible while walking her streets. Many actors in the Bible such as Abraham, King David, King Solomon, the twelve disciples and Jesus all lived, visited, or spent time there. The Passion week of Christ will be highlighted during our stay as we visit the Mount of Olives, the Garden of Gethsemane, the Western Wall, the Way of Suffering, and the Garden Tomb.

Sea of Galilee

Nowhere in Israel does the Bible come to life more than along the shores of the Sea of Galilee. Pilgrims who visit the Galilee region have the opportunity to imagine what life was like 2,000 years ago and what Jesus and the twelve disciples experienced while fishing on the Sea of Galilee. The peaceful setting and the natural wonders of the Golan Heights to the east and Mt. Arbel to the west make for a great way to start your morning in quiet reflection. During our tour, we explore the Biblical towns of Capernaum, Magdala, and Nazareth and take a meaningful cruise on the Sea of Galilee.

The Dead Sea is not only the lowest and most lifeless lake in the world, but also nearly 10 times saltier than the ocean. Travelers will enjoy the beautiful colors of the blue water and the red mountains of Jordan to the east. Take time to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime Dead Sea “float” either in the sea itself or at one of the warm salt water pools at our hotel. The Dead Sea experience is truly a bucket list visit you won’t want to miss!

Garden Tomb

Our visit to the Garden Tomb and its surrounding gardens is normally one of the highlights of our tour to Israel. The Garden Tomb is a rock-cut tomb in Jerusalem that was unearthed in 1867 and is considered by some Protestants to be the site of the burial and resurrection of Jesus. Our visit offers a unique time of prayer, reflection, communion, and praise, which will be a special life-long memory for many travelers.

Jordan River Baptism Site

The Jordan River Baptist Site or “Yardenit” is a baptism site located along the Jordan River just south of the Sea of Galilee in northern Israel. This site is frequented by Christian Pilgrims who enjoy imagining the setting of the baptism of Jesus. For anyone who would like to be baptized in the Jordan River, Yardenit has been developed to be a peaceful setting with beautiful gardens, clean colored water, changing facilities, showers, and a nice souvenir shop.

Caesarea Philippi

To many Pilgrim travelers, Caesarea Philippi is a special surprise while on their tour. Located along the rushing springs of Mt. Hermon, the beautiful and natural setting is where Jesus asked his disciples “Who do men say that I am?” He asked this question while observing the pagan worship of the god Pan as worshipers offered their sacrifice at the “Gates of Hell.” Our time at Caesarea Philippi is one of many opportunities throughout our tour to see the lessons and message of the Bible come to light in a special way.

Israel Tours: Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best month for the Holy Land tour?

Taking a trip to Israel during the spring or fall offers the most enjoyable weather of the year but normally has the largest crowds. If you want to enjoy a peaceful tour with fewer crowds, consider visiting between December and February or June and August. We offer Israel and Jordan tours throughout the year, so you can select a trip that works for your schedule.

How many days do you need for a Holy Land tour?

We offer several types of tours of the Holy Land, so the duration of your tour depends on the tour package you choose. The Best of Israel Tour is our most basic offering and includes a Sea of Galilee boat ride, a trip to the Jordan River Baptism Site, the Dead Sea, and many opportunities to walk on the same land Jesus walked on. This is our shortest trip at just 9 or 10 days. Our most involved trips allow you to experience a wide range of historical locations over the course of a few weeks. Egypt tours are included in some of these packages, as well as tours in Greece and other countries. These tours can take up to 24 days, giving you the chance to spend an extended period of time learning about and visiting different parts of the world. From our Turkey tours to all of our Israel Christian tours, all of our tours feature a first-class hotel rating for the country you visit. We do offer some upgraded tours that offer better lodging options. You can review our hotel categories at https://www.pilgrimtours.com/company/hotelcomparison.htm . Check out any of our tours to view a day-by-day itinerary and see what amenities are included with each tour.

What is the dress code in Israel?

The dress code in Israel is different from other parts of the world. There are a few dress code basics you should understand before booking Israel tours: When you’re in Israel, there is no strict dress code. You can wear what you feel comfortable wearing. However, both men and women should try to dress conservatively and cover their shoulders and knees when visiting any of the religious sites throughout Israel. Generally speaking, it’s best to avoid tank tops and shorts. Men need to cover their heads when visiting the Western Wall. Pilgrim Tours provides a Pilgrim Tours ball cap upon arrival in Israel, but you might consider purchasing an affordable kippa that you can bring when you visit Jewish sites. Some places may offer a free kippa, but these are generally low quality. (Women are not required to cover their heads at any sight.) You can figure out what you need to pack and how to dress each day by looking at the itinerary for our Holy Land tours. Guides normally offer guidance on how to dress for the next day while on tour. We also suggest looking at the extended weather forecast as you prepare and pack for your trip.

Is there a lot of walking involved on an Israel Tour?

Our Israel tours do require a significant amount of walking each day and you should be able to walk unassisted 3-4 miles per day on average. Make sure you have a comfortable pair of shoes that provide adequate support. While there are bus and boat rides during these tours, you have to walk quite a bit to explore some of the Biblical sites. Our tour guides normally give the group a few options at sites for those that have physical limitations. One thing to keep in mind is that there are many hills and valleys in Israel which can make walking even more taxing. The amount of walking you have to do may vary based on the tour you take, so look at the itinerary before choosing your tour. The good news is that Israel is a beautiful country to see on foot, and you’ll have several opportunities to sit down and give your feet a rest. As long as you have a good pair of shoes and comfortable clothes, it’s easy to forget about all the walking you’re doing and enjoy the tour.

What passport & visa information do I need for your Israel tours?

U.S. citizens need a valid U.S. passport with at least six months validity beyond their intended stay to enter Israel. Make two photocopies of your passport. Leave one copy at home and carry the other separately from your original. Israel: U.S. and Canadian Citizens do not need a Visa when entering Israel. Non U. S. /Canadian Citizens are responsible to fulfill appropriate entry requirements of destination. Contact your Consulate office for requirements.

What common languages will be spoken during your Israel tours?

Hebrew, Arabic and English.

What currency can I use on your Israel tours?

The U.S. dollar is widely accepted across Israel, and we suggest bringing about $30 for each day you’ll be on tour. U.S. dollars are recommended for use for small purchases and lunches. Lunches typically cost $15-20. It is important to bring about 20 $1 bills as some bathrooms charge a small fee for use. Credit cards may also be used for larger purchases. ATMs in Israel are all connected to European and American banking systems. Please be advised that the ATM machines dispense money in SHEKELS – NOT U.S. DOLLARS. Please notify your bank before traveling overseas.

Do I need to bring a converter for the Israel tour?

Israel uses the European plug with two round pins. You will need to bring along the necessary converters and adapters to operate any 120 volt appliances such as hair dryers and electric razors as well as camera and cell phone chargers. Electricity in Israel is 220 volts 50 Hz.

What is the time zone for your Israel tours?

The time zone for Israel is seven hours ahead of EST and two hours ahead of GMT.

What climate should I expect during your Israel tours?

In Israel the climate is temperate, and temperatures all year-round are reasonable. Israel has two main seasons: winter (from November to March) is cold and rainy in most parts of the country; summer (from April to October) is hot and dry with little or no rainfall. The desert areas can be extremely hot in summer time.

Questions to consider when selecting your Tour Company

research is key to selecting the right company, please read this carefully before you sign up with any tour company.

What is the Tour Company’s main focus?

Several vacation tour companies have attempted to make inroads into the Christian

Pilgrimage market. Friendship Tours only specializes in Christian pilgrimages. We do not sell vacation packages to other countries. Christian Pilgrimages is all we do and we do it well!

What knowledge does the company have about their guides?

The owners of Friendship Tours personally screen and select all of our guides.  We choose guides who are flexible and responsive to the needs of our group leaders.  Our guides are well informed with a broad base of knowledge in both the Old and New Testament. Our guides make us successful and this is why our group leaders re-book year after year with us.

How long has the company been around?

After 9/11 several companies avoided refunding churches the tour payments and closed shop only to re-open under a different name. Friendship Tours has been in business since 1982 and has refunded all travelers their money.  Every client was cared for after 9/11. This level of service and trust is important in the ever-changing world we live in.

Are the company owners Christian?

Friendship Tours is a Christian Company.  We consider our work to be the work of God on behalf of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We understand Christian Pilgrimage and we make every effort to help you in planning a meaningful, memorable and faithful experience.

What financial protection does the company offer?

Friendship Tours carries high limits of liability insurance that protects the churches that work with us. We adhere to all US government over sight with regard to Financial regulations. We have strict company policies prohibiting the commingling of client deposits. This is a critical component of our integrity. During difficult times some companies will use customer deposits to survive and run out of funds to service their group commitments.  Friendship Tours is a member of the Better Business Bureau with an “A” rating. Friendship Tours has the best buying power due to our long-standing professional relations with all international airlines offering us the lowest airfares with the best connections. Our buying power for ground services is reflected in the prices we are able to offer. Very few

Companies are able to do what we do. How do we do it? Very simple. As a wholesale Tour Operator, we work on large volume of passengers and pass the savings on to our clients.  This is our mission.  This is a ministry entrusted to us by God.  At every turn we will seek to be faithful to you and our mission.  Our

Tagline says it all. “We build lasting relations. One client at a time.”

I had a fabulous trip to Israel going on the Roots of Your Faith tour. Life changing and so amazing. Yeshay, also known as Jessie, my tour guide, was so knowledgeable, organized, funny, and kind. He was very attentive to everyone on the tour. I learned so much from him about life in Israel, its people, culture, and most importantly all of the significant biblical history at each holy site we visited. Aaron, our driver, was charming, jovial, and professional to make sure he got everyone to each destination with ease. The hotel accommodations were lovely with wonderful food, shout out to all the great chefs, and pleasant hotel staff. Thank you AIT!

Roots of Your Faith Oct 2022

An AMAZING experience from start to finish with AIT! I booked the Roots of our Faith tour to travel with my Father since Israel was on the top of his list to see in life. It turned out to be the most memorable trip of our lives for both of us!! Our tour guide Barak Berkovich was beyond phenomenal!! We are so incredibly fortunate to have had a guide so unbelievably knowledgeable, with a great sense of humor, along with possessing the rare ability to make us feel safe and secure the entire time! I have traveled extensively around the world, taking many tours, and I have never had a better guide than Barak! He was absolutely captivating (even after our 8-10 hour days of sightseeing) he kept us wanting to see and hear more!! If you are considering traveling to Israel, dont wait! Call them to book today! The process was flawless. Skyler in booking took care of every detail for us, including flight suggestions that worked out perfectly. We were picked up as soon as we landed at the airport and received the red carpet treatment the remainder of the trip. The food and hotels provided were wonderful. Our fellow group travelers were some of the most loving and faithful people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting! The itinerary was everything we could have ever hoped to see and more!!! Thank you AIT for the most extraordinary pilgrimage of a lifetime!! The memories will live on for the rest of our lives!

Roots of Your Faith Nov 2022

Our tour guide, Bruce, was wonderful, very knowledgeable and helpful. Hearing about the Biblical events from a Jewish perspective was enlightening for me. This tour was a whirlwind of sights and history for a solid week, but I highly recommend it.

The trip was worth the wait after Covid. Skylar & Regan from AIT answered all questions & sent pertinent paperwork as needed to get us started on a memorable journey. The first week is the Roots tour with Jordan as an extension. Forty-one started with 18 going on to Jordan. If you get Yair as a tour guide in Israel, you are getting the best guide. Not only is he knowledgeable & very personable, but also funny making each stop memorable. Menahem, the bus driver, uses his driving skills in difficult situations. If women had short sleeve tops, a shawl was not necessary, but definitely needed for sleeveless tops. No need to change dollars which were accepted when credit cards couldn't be used. Have plenty of $1 bills especially for water which was sold everywhere. Crossing the border to Jordan for 2 extra nights was definitely worthwhile. Jerash ruins show a huge ancient city, but Petra is a true wonder of the world. There is a lot of walking, sometimes on uneven surfaces & uphill. An electric cart (for a fee) can be taken between the Visitors Center & the Treasury if you are unable to walk long distances. You can ride a horse part way which is included in the ticket price, but the handler will expect a tip. Once reaching the Treasury, a very short camel ride can be taken (about $5). Our guide Saleh was knowledgeable and answered all our questions. This trip not only enriched my faith as so many others have said, but I got to see different cultures and met a lot of great people.

Roots of Your Faith Sep 2022

Only day three of our Roots of Your Faith tour with Jordon and Egypt extension and AIT has provided service beyond expectations. As we travel the remainder of our nearly three week trip I am confident the experience will continue to be exceptional. Yair, our tour guide, is knowledgeable not only of the historic perspective but also biblically and delivers the information with clarity.

We booked our 10 Day "Roots of Your Faith " with AIT Since 2020. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, we could not travel. We finally got cleared and traveled at end of August! AIT staff especially Skyler and Raegan always communicated with us and kept us informed about everything that was happening! Words cannot express our experience because it was that amazing. Well planned and executed in all apsects. Great hotels, sightseeing opportunities and great local spots to visit. Our tour guide Yoram was very knowledgable, passionate and lead us on our journey from day 1. We got to see so many of the Holy Sights and learned so much during our trip. I would definitely recommend this company and travel with them again!

Roots of Your Faith Aug 2022

Recently returned from an AIT “Roots of Your Faith” tour with visits to both sides of the Jordan. WOW! It was amazing! Both the California and Israeli based administrative teams who planned and organized the trip did so with precision and made our way comfortable and easy. We wanted to see “everything” and we did. Yair, our tour guide in Israel, made historical sites and Biblical events come alive with his knowledge, insight and presentation; and he did so in a way that faded the hectic atmosphere of some crowded sites. Our guide in Bethlehem and Emdad in Jordan enhanced our visits as well. The accommodations and hospitality at our hotels and dining rooms was excellent, particularly in Jerusalem and in Aman. Would I go with AIT again? Absolutely, in a heartbeat!

Roots of Your Faith Oct 2019

Early November is a fabulous time to visit Israel with the wonderful AIT crew. They looked after us the whole way through. They don’t talk up the Isrotel Hotel at the Dead Sea enough. That has to be the finest hotel on the water. It’s 5 stars by any standard! The peace and the beauty of the land is surprising... from the news you’d think this place is going to kick off at any moment. Our experience has been fantastic so far. If you’ve not been to Israel... you are missing a unique corner of the world... Come to Israel!!!

Roots of Your Faith Nov 2019

We had a really amazing tour From Old Jaffa to the Old city of Jerusalem Hotel and food accommodations were great , Our tour guide Yoram was really Informative and always willing to answer questions , Our experienced Driver Moshe always made us feel safe on the road . This tour will always be memorable to my heart and I totally recommend it . Zaida Humphrey

My husband & I have been enjoying our first visit to Israel on the America Israel Tour (AIT) company's "Roots of your Faith” tour. It has been a surprise to see so many other tours operating at the same time, and of course, all wanting to visit the same sites. We believe what make our tour special is our guide: Yoram Black. He has been professional, knowledgeable, accommodating, efficient, analytical, thoughtful and courteous. We have been on other tours in other countries and Yoram seems to be the hardest working and most prepared guide we have had the pleasure of touring with. I don’t know if it is Yoram or AIT that coordinates the timing of each day, but our itinerary seems to help us avoid the worst of the crowds. The company’s “Whisper” system of communication helps us all hear every word and feel like we are next to the guide, even if we are wandering the site, and regardless of the other tours. The tour is highly recommended. Karen and Indy from Sanibel Island, FL

Today is our first day in Jerusalem, a diverse and fascinating city. A city of great importance to Christians, Jews and Muslims alike.

We will start the day with a visit to a detailed model of ancient Jerusalem (Second Temple period). Then we will head next door to the Shrine of the Book, which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Around lunch time, we will drive to Ein Karem. This lovely and picturesque artist village is believed to be the village where John the Baptist was born.

After lunch, we will head to Yad Vashem, the Holocaust museum, a living memorial to the six million Jews killed in the Holocaust. The museum was established in 1953 and is located at the foot of Mt. Hertzl.

On our second part of the day, we will visit Bethlehem - the birthplace of Jesus Christ. We will visit Rachel’s Tomb and the Church of the Nativity before we will head back to your hotel for overnight.

Wednesday Day 7: Jerusalem

Today we we will reach one of the heights of our Holy Land Tour. We will spend our day in the Old City of Jerusalem. The highlights of this wonderful day are the Western Wall, the Via Dolorosa, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre the Cardo and more. We will end the day in the Garden of Gethsemane, before returning to the hotel for overnight.

Today we will spend the day in the Old City of Jerusalem. Unlike "Old Cities" in other parts of the world, which are mainly a tourist attraction, the Old City of Jerusalem is a live city that hasn't changed much since biblical times. All of your senses will be stimulated as you will walk through the narrow allies of the city.

We will head to the Western Wall and the actual site of the Second Temple, the Temple Mount. We will walk the Way of the Cross, the Via Dolorosa, to Calvary and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, housing both the traditional site of Crucifixion and the Tomb of the Resurrection.

Next we will head southwest, just outside the Old City, to Mount Zion, where the traditional tomb of King David and the Room of the Last Supper are located.

We will continue to a panoramic view from the Mount of Olives, Jerusalem's highest peak that offers a wonderful view of the Old and New city.

We will end the day with a visit the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus prayed in agony on the night of His betrayal by Judas. See the beautiful olive trees, masterfully sculptured by time, which are believed to be the same trees under which Jesus sheltered.

Return to hotel for overnight.

Thursday Day 8: Jerusalem - Ben-Gurion airport

Our Holy Land tour has reached its end and we hope that you enjoyed it as much as we have enjoyed hosting you. We part with the Hebrew greeting of Shalom and Le-Hitraot and hope to welcome you again in the future. Transportation is provided from the hotel to the airport for your flight back home.

Itinerary - Christian Holy Land Tour

Sunday, day 1: welcome to the holy land meet & greet + hotel transfer.

Welcome to the Holy Land, a place of immense spiritual significance for people of many different faiths. We are excited to have you join us on a journey of discovery and enlightenment with Shalom Journeys Christian Israel Tours (CIT).

Upon arriving in Tel Aviv, you will be greeted by a knowledgeable representative from CIT. They will assist you with your hotel transfer and check-in, ensuring that your trip gets off to a smooth and stress-free start.

After settling into your hotel, you can enjoy a delicious buffet dinner before retiring for the night. Get a good night’s rest, because the adventure is just beginning!

Overnight in Tel Aviv.

Monday, Day 2: Caesarea, Megiddo, Haifa, Acre (Akko) to the Galilee

Day 2 of our Israel tour will take us on a journey through the rich history and culture of the country. We will begin by exploring the ancient city of Caesarea, where we will see the Roman theater, the restored amphitheater, and the aqueduct. We will also learn about the important events that took place here, including Paul’s journey to Tarsus and the conversion of Cornelius and his family to Christianity.

Next, we will visit Megiddo, one of King Solomon’s fortified cities, where we will see the ruins of 20 levels of civilization and the well-preserved water supply system. This site is also mentioned in the Bible as the location of the final Battle of Armageddon.

We will then continue on to Haifa, where we will ascend Mt. Carmel for a panoramic view of the city and the Bay of Haifa. We will also visit Muhraka, where Elijah fought the false prophets of Baal.

Our next stop will be in Akko, also known as Acre. Here, we will see the underground passages and secret rooms, as well as the prison.

In the afternoon/evening, we will drive through the Pastoral Hills of Galilee to our hotel for check-in. Dinner will be served at the hotel, and we will spend the night in the Galilee region.

Tuesday, Day 3: Tiberias, Wester Galilee, Banias (Golan Heights)

The day will start with a short tour of Tiberius, including a boat cruise on the Sea of Galilee in a Jesus boat replica. You will also visit Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ Galilean ministry and the site of many of his miracles, and the remains of a 2nd-century synagogue.

Next, you will visit Tabgha, the site of the Loaves and Fishes, including the Church of the Multipication, with a 4th-century mosaic floor. You will then head to the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount, and Banias Springs and Caesarea Philippi, one of the sources of the River Jordan and the place where Peter made the confession of faith in Christ.

After a relaxing dinner at your hotel, you will have the evening at leisure. You will spend the night in the Galilee region.

Wednesday, Day 4: Nazareth, Beit Shean

Start your day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel, before setting out on a full day of sightseeing in Israel. Your first stop is the site of Jesus’ first miracle, the Cana of Galilee, where he turned water into wine (John 2:1).

Next, visit the boyhood home of Jesus in Nazareth and see the Grotto of the Annunciation and the Church of St. Joseph, which are built over the traditional site where Mary and Joseph lived. You’ll also visit the location of the ancient City Well, where it is believed that the Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary.

After lunch, head to Yardenit, a Baptismal site in the Jordan River where you can be baptized if you choose. Afterward, visit the newly excavated and ongoing archaeological site of Beit Shean, where you’ll see the amphitheater, colonnaded Roman streets, mosaics, and Roman bathhouses (1st Samuel 31:10).

As the day comes to a close, take a drive through the Jordan Valley and see the desert bloom with flowers and vegetation, as prophesied by Isaiah in chapter 35:1-2.

After arriving in Jerusalem in the afternoon, check in to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing dinner. You may want to take a leisurely stroll through the streets of Jerusalem before retiring for the night. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Thursday, Day 5: Jerusalem: The Old City

On the fifth day of your Israel tour, you will have the opportunity to visit several important sites in Jerusalem and the Old City. You will begin the day with breakfast at the hotel, before setting out to see the Mount of Olives, a beautiful mountain with a panoramic view of the Old City and the Golden Gates, as well as an urban garden where Jesus prayed before his crucifixion. You will also visit the Upper Room, the site of Jesus’ last Passover meal, and the Jewish Quarter, a southeastern sector of the Old City with a restored marketplace called the Cardo.

Other notable sites on this day include the Western Wall, a holy place for Jews and the last remaining structure of the Second Temple, and the Via Dolorosa, also known as the Stations of the Cross or the Way of the Cross, which marks the route Jesus took to his crucifixion. You will also visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, believed by many Catholics and Orthodox Christians to be the site of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection, and the Garden Tomb, a similar site revered by many Evangelical Christians.

After a full day of sightseeing, you will return to the hotel for the evening at leisure, with dinner provided. You will spend the night in Jerusalem.

Garden of Gethsemane in Jerusalem - Christian Holy Land Tour

Friday, Day 6: New City Bethlehem

“Welcome to Day 6 of our Israel Tour! Today, we will start the day in the beautiful village of Ein Kerem, known as the birthplace of John the Baptist and the location of his parent’s summer house.

Next, we will visit Yad Vashem, the Israeli memorial dedicated to the six million Jews who lost their lives during WWII.

After that, we will make our way to the Israel Museum, home to the Shrine of the Book and the stunning scale model of Jerusalem during the Second Temple period.

In the afternoon, we will travel to Bethlehem, a significant site for many Christians as the believed birthplace of Jesus at the Church of the Nativity.

In the evening, we will return to our hotel for a special Shabbat dinner. We will spend the night in Jerusalem.

Join us for a memorable day of history, culture, and spirituality as we continue to explore the rich history and beauty of Israel.”

Scale Model of ancient Jerusalem, as it was in the 2nd Temple period - Christian Holy Land Tour - Trips Israel LLC

Saturday, Day 7: Massada and the Dead Sea area

Today, we will begin with an early breakfast at our hotel before setting out on a journey south toward the Dead Sea. As we approach the shores, we will descend to the lowest point on Earth – 1305 feet (398m) below sea level. Our first stop will be at Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were famously discovered by a young shepherd boy. Next, we will ascend by cable car to the mountaintop plateau of Masada, where the Jewish Zealots bravely fought against the Romans. The Zealots preferred death as free men over Roman slavery and torture and held out for three years against Flavius Silva’s legions.

After exploring these historical sites, we will make our way to the Dead Sea itself – a unique body of water with a salt content of 11%-13% and other natural ingredients. Weather permitting, we will float on the Dead Sea and cover ourselves in its therapeutic mud. In the afternoon and evening, we will return to our hotel in Jerusalem for dinner and an overnight stay.

Sunday, Day 8: Tel Aviv / Ben Gurion Airport

It’s the final day of your tour! Today, you’ll be transferred to Ben Gurion Airport for your departure. Safe travels and we hope you had a great time on your Christian Holy Land Tour!

Naomi and Naamah Feliciano

Eyal for the past 6/7 years you have been handling my visits to Israel. I don’t know how you do it but every time your tours surpass the previous ones.

This one was no different! It totally surpassed the previous ones. My family’s first time in Israel was an incredible once in a lifetime experience thanks to your expertise in putting the tour together to accommodate each and everyone’s needs and desires.

There was excitement for my young grandchildren as there were things geared just for their age and desires. My family toured all of Israel for first time and missed out on nothing. Yet my daughter and I who had been there 4 times already found things never seen in our previous trips.

Your choice of guide all these years was the perfect one! Hillel made your efforts in putting everything together a total success. Looking forward to our next trip.

Thank you so much to your staff and guide Hillel for another awesome experience in Israel.

Beth Fisher

I apologize for the delay in my response. Thank you so much for the wonderful trip to Israel. I appreciate all your hard work in getting everything together. Our guides were great, knowledgeable and very accommodating. The hotels were conveniently located, comfortable and nicely furnished. Everything ran smoothly.

Day 1: Monday, November 7

The day has arrived, and we board our flight from our local airport and begin our journey to Tel Aviv, Israel.

Day 2: Tuesday, November 8

Having arrived in Israel, we travel north to the coastal city of Tel Aviv. Upon arrival we meet our Christian Expedition Tour Director, who will remain with us for the duration of our trip. The rest of the day is free to walk along the Mediterranean Sea, relax, have dinner and spend time with the Lord. The Apostle Paul travelled the Mediterranean Sea during his missionary journeys. Overnight in Tel Aviv.

Day 3: Wednesday, November 9

We have breakfast and board a private coach, which brings us along the Sea to Caesarea. Acts 10 tells us that the Gentile Cornelius received a vision at Caesarea, which prompted him to send for the Apostle Peter, who then came to Caesarea and preached the Gospel to Cornelius and those assembled at his house. All those who heard the message received the Holy Spirit! In Caesarea, we visit the Roman Amphitheatre, hippodrome, and an ancient aqueduct. We then head to Mt. Carmel, where Elijah confronted Baal and his prophets, and God sent fire from heaven in response to Elijah’s prayer. (1 Kings 18) Then we head to the Jezreel Valley, to Megiddo, the Armageddon Battlefield of Revelation 16. We drive through the area of Cana and Nazareth the hometown of Jesus. In Nazareth we visit Nazareth Village, which is a recreation of Nazareth during biblical times. We will have dinner and spend the next two nights in the Tiberias area on the Sea of Galilee. Overnight in the Tiberias area.

Day 4: Thursday, November 10

We have breakfast and then make our way to Dan. Judges 18 speaks of the families of the tribe of Dan relocating to this ancient city and becoming idol-worshipers there. We move on to nearby Caesarea Philippi, where Peter made his famous confession, recorded in Matthew 16, that Jesus is “the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” We see a suggested site for the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes in Bethsaida and the Mount of the Beatitudes. We then head back to Tiberias, where we enjoy a “St. Peter’s Fish Lunch,” of fish from the sea of Galilee (non-fish options are also available). We move on to see the Ancient Galilee boat; a boat that was discovered in 1986, and was used for fishing on the Sea of Galilee in the First Century AD. We enjoy a cruise on the Sea of Galilee, which includes a Scripture reading and devotional by your trip chaplain. We go on to Capernaum, where we see the remains of the village, including the home of Peter. We then head to Magdala, the hometown of Mary Magdalene, which also boasts the remains of a First Century synagogue. Overnight in the Tiberias area.

Day 5: Friday, November 11

After breakfast, we head to the Jordan River Baptismal site. Here there is an opportunity to be baptized in the same river in which John the Baptist baptized many, including Jesus himself. We move on to Beth Shean, or Scythopolis as it was called by the Romans. 1 Samuel 31 tells us that King Saul was defeated by the Philistines and died on nearby Mt. Gilboa. When the Philistines found Saul’s body, they fastened it to the wall of Beth Shean. Later, during Jesus’ time, Scythopolis was a member of the Decapolis, a group of ten cities sharing Greek culture and government, mentioned in Matthew 4:25, Mark 5:20, and Mark 7:31. We follow the Jordan Valley to the south and get a sense of Israel’s agricultural fertility, which caused it to be called a “Land of Milk and Honey” (Deuteronomy 31:20). We pass Jericho, which God famously gave into the hands of Joshua and the Israelites in Joshua 6, and which is regarded as the oldest city in the world. East of Jericho is Bethany beyond the Jordan, the area in which Jesus was baptized, Elijah and Elisha crossed the Jordan, and Joshua and the Israelites entered the land that God had promised them. We spend the night at the Dead Sea, which is the lowest place on earth. We leave time for you to hit the spa and float on the Dead Sea before dinner. Overnight at the Dead Sea.

Day 6: Saturday, November 12

After breakfast, we will have a morning at leisure with an optional cable car trip to Masada, the mountain-top fortress that served as the site of a famous zealot last stand. We head, then, to Ein Gedi, or the “Spring of the Goat,” a natural oasis famous for its flora and fauna on the western shore of the Dead Sea. 1 Samuel 24 tells us that it was at Ein Gedi that David hid from Saul in a cave, and spared Saul’s life. In the afternoon, we head to Genesis Land in the desert, where we get to experience a recreation of life in the time of the patriarchs (including an optional camel ride and authentic food). We spend the night, for the remainder of our tour, in Jerusalem. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 7: Sunday, November 13

Today we see Jerusalem. We visit the Wailing Wall, the Temple Mount, and Rabbinical Tunnels. We see the Via Dolorosa, the ancient Roman street that it is believed Jesus walked on the way to his crucifixion. We visit the Antonia Fortress, where Jesus was condemned to die by Pontius Pilate. We see the Pool of Bethesda where, John 5 recounts, Jesus healed a disabled man; Stephen’s Gate, also known as the Lion’s Gate or the Sheep Gate; St. Anne’s Church, which was built during the Middle Ages by Crusaders; and the site of the excavation of the Southern Wall, which served as the south side of the second temple. It through this wall that Jesus entered the Temple before His cleansing of it. It is believed that this is where Peter preached on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2). We spend the rest of the day in Bethlehem, the birthplace of Christ. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 8: Monday, November 14

We begin the day by heading to the Mount of Olives. The Mount of Olives provides an incredible view of Jerusalem, Mount Moriah and the Dome of the Rock. We visit the Garden of Gethsemane, where your trip chaplain will read the prayers that Jesus prayed there on the night before He was crucified. We move on to the “Upper Room,” where Jesus and his disciples ate the Last Supper. We walk the Via Dolorosa, and visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Finally, we make our way to Golgotha, where Jesus was crucified, and the Garden Tomb, where Jesus was buried and later resurrected. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 9: Tuesday, November 15

Today will be spent at leisure. You might wish to visit the city’s markets, the Israel Museum, Yad Vashem (the Holocaust museum) and re-visit the Via Dolorosa and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. On the final evening of our trip, we gather for our farewell banquet, followed by our flight home.

Day 10: Wednesday, November 16

Day 10: Today we arrive back in the U.S.

Join our 7 Day tour around the Israel! Perfect for travelers who want to see everything!

Go on unforgettable Christian tours of Israel for 7 days where you visit the most significant Christian sites in the holy land and much more. Walk in the footsteps of Jesus and explore Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Jericho, Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee, Caesare, Haifa, Akko and Tel Aviv.

Tour itenerary

Israel’s northern coast, caesaria, rosh hanikra, acre (acco).

Israel’s northern coast is home to ancient Roman ruins, stunning grottos and beautiful beaches.   We begin the day in Caesaria, site of the ancient Roman regional capital and port. Named by Herod the Great in honor of Caesar Augustus, Caesaria was one of the most ambitious port-building enterprises of the Roman world, begun in 22 BCE.

We will take you on a walking tour of the archeological remains, including the port, the city, the hippodrome and the impressive amphitheatre, and help bring this ancient city with its tumultuous history back to life .

From Caesarea we continue north to Haifa for a beautiful panoramic view of the impressive Bahai Gardens, the city and the port. Haifa offers some of the most memorable panoramic views in Israel.

We then proceed on our journey towards Rosh Hanikra, where we take the cable car to visit the beautiful limestone grottos on the water front. We will also view Israel’s border with Lebanon, situated right on top of Rosh Hanikra.

Making our way back south, we will stop in the enchanting port city of Acre or Acco, to visit the Crusader underground city and the crypt. Acre, sight of Napoleon’s defeat, is rich in history, which is evident everywhere within the old city. We will walk through the old city market, bustling with the fresh finds of the local fishermen, as well as spices, vegetables, and more. The market ends at the scenic harbor, where you can watch local children jump into the ocean from the remains of the old city walls.

Nazareth & Sea of Galilee Tour

The first stop in Nazareth is at the Church of the Annunciation. Originally a Byzantine and then Crusader-era church, it was beautifully re-constructed in 1969. According to Catholic tradition, the annunciation was held at this spot, and inside, the Church’s lower level contains the Grotto of the Annunciation, which is believed by Catholics to be the remains of Mary’s childhood home.

The tour then visits the Church of St. Joseph’s Carpentry, believed to be the sight of Joseph’s carpentry workshop. Beneath the church lies a cave used by the early Roman dwellers for storage of food and water.

From Nazareth we proceed via Kafer Cana for a view of the Mount of Beatitudes, where, according to tradition, Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount. Then, at nearby historical Tabgha, located on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee, we visit the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish. The Church stands on the sight of a 4th century church, and preserves a beautiful early Christian mosaic, in addition to the traditional stone where that special meal was consumed.

We end our day, returning back to central Israel via a scenic view of Mt. Tabor, site of the Transfiguraton.

Masada & Dead Sea Tour

Arriving at Masada, we ascend the mountain by cable car, to tour the 2000-year old palace built by King Herod. Herod had built a swimming pool, water cisterns, two palaces, store rooms and even a synagogue.

It was here that the Jews came to defy the Romans and in this remote spot are reported to have committed mass suicide in defiance after a long and drawn-out siege by the Roman army.We will take you through the important archeological sites bringing this dramatic historical moment to life for you.

We leave Masada and head out to the Dead Sea. The tour concludes with time to enjoy basking in the sun at the beach or floating in the mineral-rich Dead Sea, located at the lowest place on earth (400m below sea level).

You can also cover yourself from head to toe in the natural Dead Sea mud, which has unique therapeutic qualities and will leave your skin feeling soft and fresh. . And don’t worry if you don’t know how to swim, the high salt content will keep you afloat.

Bethlehem & Jericho Tour

We drive towards Bethlehem via the Nativity Circle and visit Bethlehem’s Manger Square. Manger Square is home to the Church of the Nativity, one of the world’s oldest-standing churches still functioning to this day. We will visit the main Basilica of the Nativity, designed in the typical Roman-style and constructed on the ruins of its predecessor in 565 AD, as well as the Catholic Church of St. Catherine, adjoining the Basilica of the Nativity.

Underneath the Church stands the Grotto of the Nativity, the cave in which Jesus was born, the exact spot of birth is marked by a 14-pointed star of silver set into the floor. We also visit the nearby Milk Grotto, where Mary nursed her son while the family was taking refuge before their flight into Egypt. A Franciscan Chapel is built above the Milk Grotto.

Our last stop in Bethlehem will be to a beautiful overview of the Shepherds’ Fields, and the special Church of the Shepherds’ Fields.

We then depart towards the Judean Desert, stopping en route to visit the Inn of the Good Samaritan. From the Inn of the Good Samaritan we overlook the breathtaking view of the moon-shaped landscape of the Judean Desert.

We make a short stop when we reach sea-level and then proceed to Jericho. In Jericho we stop at the Zacheus Sycamore, a very old sycamore tree, climbed by Zacheus to see Jesus passing by. We will then visit the Tell es-Sultan, (Sultan’s Mound), also knows as the Mound of Ancient Jericho, where 25 consecutive settlements were uncovered and excavated, the first one dated to as early as 9000 BC. This special archeological site offers a unique picture of the different historical and pre-historical settlements of this region.

Jerusalem Old & New City Tour

The trip starts with a panoramic overview of the old and new city of Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives. The Mount of Olives offers a breathtaking view of the Temple Mount and the entire old city of Jerusalem.

We then travel along the Kidron Valley to visit the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus and his disciples prayed the night before his crucifixion. We then proceed to enter the old city via the Armenian Quarter. Our first stop will be the Wailing (Western) Wall.

We will then stroll through the local Bazaar to the Christian Quarter to follow the Stations of the Cross, otherwise known as the Via Dolorosa. Our tour guides explain and bring to life every stop along the way to the memorable Church of the Holy Sepulchre, site of the crucifixion.

From the Chruch of the Holy Sepulchre, we walk along the 1700 year-old Byzantine main street, until we reach the Roman Cardo and the renovated Jewish Quarter. We then ascend to Mount Zion and on Saturdays visit the Hall of the Last Supper and David’s Tomb.

Leaving the Old City we proceed to tour the new city by car en route to the Yad Vashem Holocaust museum where we finish the day’s itinerary.

In the footsteps of Jesus Tour

We will guide you through these interesting and exciting places, and also present you with some of the most breathtaking views of the city. Our tour begins in the Mount of Olives, where Jesus spent much of his time teaching his disciples. From the Mount of Olives we will take in a beautiful view of both the Old and New city of Jerusalem.

From there we go on to visit the site of Mary’s Ascension, as well as the Church of Patre Nostre, located on the site in which Jesus taught the Lord’s Prayer to his disciples. In the Cloister we will see plaques of the Lord’s Prayer, written in 123 different languages.

From there we walk down to the small Franciscan Church of Dominus Flevit, where Jesus wept over Jerusalem and the destruction he foresaw for the city.

We proceed to the Gardens of Gethsemane and the beautiful Church of All Nations, on the spot at which Jesus prayed his last prayer, and where he was caught and arrested by the Romans, following Judas’s betrayal. From there we overlook the Valley of Kidron to see the tombs of Absalom, Jeosphate and Zaccariah from 2nd temple period.

We enter the old city at the Lions Gate to visit the 12th century Crusader Church of St. Anne, the home of Mary and the pool of Bethesda described by Saint John in his Gospel.

We end our tour with a visit to the Abbey of Notre Dame De Sion, where striped pavement (Litho Strosos) signifies where Jesus was condemned and where the Via Dolorosa begins.

Netanyahu's Office Denies Reports He'll Support Palestinian State as PM Makes Lebanon Border Tour

JERUSALEM, Israel – There are media reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may be about to abandon his opposition to a Palestinian state next to Israel. Also, top Israeli leaders visited the border with Lebanon where war could break out any day.

Aides to the prime minister have reportedly told the White House that when Netanyahu addresses a joint session of Congress in July, he'll present a new take on achieving a pathway to a Palestinian state. That would be a huge shift.

Yet those reports may be wrong. The Prime Minister's Office told  The Times of Israel  that Netanyahu "opposes a Palestinian state and will not change his position in his address to Congress."

slider img 2

The prime minister has consistently opposed Palestinian statehood in recent years, as poll after poll shows a huge majority of West Bank Palestinians themselves don't want a state next to Israel. They just want Israel destroyed.

Itamar Marcus, cirector of Palestinian Media Watch, points out most Palestinians hail the murderous attacks on Israelis, including what happened on October 7th.

"There's tremendous support within the West Bank for what happened on October 7th," Marcus stated. "There was a poll taken a month and a half after October 7th – and everyone knew what happened, everybody knew about the rape and the destruction and the massacres – and Palestinians were asked 'With everything that's happened up till now, does it make you proud as a Palestinian?' And 98 percent of Palestinians said it made them proud."

On another front, both Netanyahu and Israeli President Isaac Herzog toured Israel's northern border with Lebanon this week.

That''s where all-out war may soon come, as the Jewish nation seeks to end daily attacks from Hezbollah on Israeli communities along the border.

In Washington, Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has supposedly made progress in speeding up shipments of weapons to the U.S. from Israel.

Netanyahu has accused the Biden administration of deliberately slow-walking such shipments.

For the first time, the administration is admitting there have been bottlenecks in getting some of those weapons shipped.

Gallant addressed Americans, saying Israel needs the U.S. by its side.

"The powerful and enduring bond between the United States and Israel is key to our nation's strategy and our security," the defense minister

Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman has been one Democrat particularly strong in supporting Israel's war with Hamas as others have wavered. He's met with Netanyahu on his first visit here.

"We stand with Israel through this and I'm so sorry for what's been done to this nation," Fetterman declared.

Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan pledged that his nation will stand with Hezbollah if it comes to war. He's condemning western nations for backing Netanyahu, whose mental fitness he questioned.

Erdogan asserted, "It is extremely bad and pathetic that governments that talk about freedom, human rights, and justice are captives of a mentally ill person like Netanyahu."

In New York City, a masked man who demanded Jews get off a subway car earlier this month faces criminal charges of attempted coercion. He had yelled, "Raise your hands if you're a Zionist – this is your chance to get out!"

Earlier this week, several dozen people protested against Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg for his refusal to prosecute most of the anti-Israel demonstrators who illegally occupied Columbia University's Hamilton Hall this spring.

One protester said of Bragg, "He's either a coward or an antisemite."

Attacks on christians in israel surged in 2023: spitting on clergy, pepper spraying us citizen.

Christian Quarter street in Jerusalem city. The sign is in three languages.

A heightened sense of impunity and nationalism contributed to a surge in attacks on Christians and church properties in Israel in 2023, according to a Jerusalem-based inter-religious organization report.

“While hostility towards the Christian presence has been a longstanding occurrence in some local communities, it has now escalated to a broader and more severe phenomenon,” the Rossing Center for Education and Dialogue stated in a report released this month.

A growing sense of insecurity among Christians is linked to the wider socio-political context, according to Christian leaders and experts on Christianity in Israel, the report states.

“As the Cardinal of Jerusalem, Pier Battista Pizzaballa, said regarding the spike in attacks, ‘These people [the attackers] feel they are protected … that the cultural and political atmosphere now can justify, or tolerate, actions against Christians,” states the report , titled, “Attacks on Christians in Israel and East Jerusalem.”

Christian communities saw a significant increase in both the frequency and intensity of harassment, according to the report.

“The targeting of Christianity is not, on the whole, explicitly encouraged by the political leadership or the Israeli authorities,” the report states. “However, the rise in attacks correlates with a broader socio-political climate marked by a shift towards the far-right, growing nationalism, and an emphasis on Israel as a state for the Jewish population which has impacted the unique majority/minority dynamics of Jewish-Christian relations in the Holy Land.”

The center documented 32 attacks on church properties in 2023, seven violent attacks on Christians, 11 cases of verbal harassment, cemetery desecration and 30 cases of spitting on or toward clergy and pilgrims.

“Spitting has been a known occurrence in religious life in Jerusalem for decades, but it has transformed from a covert act to perpetrators openly spitting at clergy, holy places, and even pilgrims, in broad daylight, before crowds and in the presence of security cameras,” the report notes.

Spitting constitutes felony assault, according to Article 378 of Israeli penal law, and if done for a racial or religious reason, punishment is either doubled or 10 years in prison, whichever is lesser, the report states. Victims are generally not aware of the law and do not report it, and police would tend to dismiss most reports as non-violent and irrelevant, it states.

“Consequently, a common attitude among religious individuals, particularly those from Eastern traditions, is a form of acceptance of this insulting behavior, mostly out of humility,” the report states. “A smile and a silent blessing are typically the response to unknown passersby who engage in spitting.”

Besides spitting, physical attacks included pepper spraying and hitting. A group of Jewish Orthodox men in March 2023 forcibly entered a shop in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City, pepper-sprayed a U.S. Christian working there as a volunteer and punched him in the face, according to the report.

“Subsequently, a group of Jewish children barricaded the door to the shop. He was spat at from the synagogue located above the store on multiple occasions, and liquids were poured on him from above while he was opening the shop door,” the report states. “Additionally, Jewish Orthodox men would display knives in his presence, while others verbally harassed him during work hours, labeling him as a ‘missionary.’”

The accusation tarnished his relationships with potential Jewish customers, and eventually the intimidations compelled him to leave his position, the report states.

Two young Jewish men on Jan. 28, 2023, attacked a car carrying two Armenians near an Armenian compound, and when the victims asked why, they were pepper-sprayed in the eyes, according to the Armenian Patriarchate. They received hospital treatment and reported the attack to police, and an hour after police apprehended one of the assailants, a large group of young Jewish men tried to climb the Patriarchate’s building with the intention of removing its flag and the Armenian flag.

Young Armenian men prevented them from doing so, causing the Jewish group to flee, but some members returned and started provoking the Armenian youth, according to the report.

“The Jewish young men ran towards the police station, falsely claiming a terrorist attack was taking place,” the report states. “In response, the police attacked the Armenian youths and detained one of them. Following the intervention by His Beatitude Archbishop Nourhan Manougian, and with court approval, the detained Armenian was released, and after medical examination and treatment for his injuries, placed under house arrest for 20 days awaiting trial. He was eventually released, but it is not clear if the case is still pending.”

Some communities near Jewish neighborhoods, such as the Armenians in the Old City of Jerusalem and a Polish monastery on the border of the Jewish Ultra-Orthodox neighborhood of Mea Shearim, endured repeated attacks throughout the year, according to the Rossing Center.

“Based on compiled records of known attacks in previous years, 2023 also witnessed a notable increase in both severe property and physical assaults,” it states. “The Polish monastery bordering Mea Shearim experienced various forms of harassment over several months. ... The abuses ceased only after the community began reporting to the Religious Freedom Data Center hotline. ... The heightened police presence successfully deterred assailants, leading to a halt in the most severe assaults. Nevertheless, instances of spitting, verbal harassment, and the throwing of objects and garbage into the compound from a nearby building persisted.”

Christians make up about 1.9% of Israel’s population, of which 75.3% are Arab Christians — 6.9% of the total Arab population in Israel, according to report, citing Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics. Jews constitute 73% of Israel’s 9.8 million people, with Ultra-Orthodox members accounting for 13% of the total population. Arabs represented 21.1% of the total population.

Missionary activity is not illegal in Israel, the Rossing Center noted.

“It is often wrongly believed that the practice is outlawed in Israel, while the only restrictions declare that it is illegal to proselytize to a person younger than 18 without the consent of both parents and to offer material benefit to potential converts while proselytizing,” the report states.

Germany, Australia, Canada warn against travel to Lebanon amid Israel tension

A photo taken during a tour organized by the Lebanese Ministry of Public Works and Transport shows staff loading cargo onto a plane at Beirut's international airport on June 24, 2024.

BEIRUT — Germany and the Netherlands joined several other countries Wednesday in urging their citizens to avoid travel to Lebanon, where confrontations between the Israeli army and Hezbollah are threatening to expand into a full-blown war.

Germany’s Foreign Office updated its travel advisory to Lebanon on Wednesday, calling on German nationals to “urgently” leave the country. The update came one day after German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock visited Beirut.

“Tensions in the border areas with Israel are heightened and could escalate further at any time,” the office said, warning of potential attacks against foreigners and tourist facilities, including hotels.

In a similar move, the Netherlands issued a stern warning on Wednesday for its citizens to leave Lebanon while commercial flights are still available due to the increasing threats between Hezbollah and Israel.

The Dutch Foreign Ministry said the current travel warning to the small Mediterranean country is “red,” urging its citizens not to travel there whatever their situation.

“It is unsafe in Lebanon, and the situation remains very unpredictable,” the ministry warned.

Earlier on Tuesday, Canada called on its citizens in Lebanon to leave “while they can.”

In a statement, Foreign Minister Melanie Joly called on Canadians to leave while commercial flights remain operational.

“The security situation in Lebanon is becoming increasingly volatile and unpredictable due to sustained and escalating violence between Hezbollah and Israel and could deteriorate further without warning,” she warned. “It is not the time to travel to Lebanon.”

“Canada is not currently offering assisted departures or evacuations for Canadians in Lebanon, and these are not guaranteed,” Joly added.

Last week, Israel's Channel 12 reported that Canada was preparing to evacuate 45,000 Canadians from Lebanon. The channel quoted Joly as telling her Israeli counterpart, Israel Katz, that her country is planning “the largest evacuation we have ever undertaken” if a war in Lebanon breaks out.

Australia joined Canada on Tuesday and recommended against travel to Lebanon “due to the volatile security situation. The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade also called on Australians in Beirut to leave on currently available flights before the situation further deteriorates.

Similarly, Switzerland said Tuesday that travel to Lebanon has now become “inadvisable.” The Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) warned on its website of the growing risk of escalation in the country.

“A significant deterioration of the security situation in Lebanon can occur at any time,” it added.

The FDFA also advised its nationals in Lebanon who wish to leave now to use available commercial options, saying those who wish to remain must be aware that “the Swiss Embassy in Beirut has only limited capacity to provide services or emergency assistance” in case the security situation deteriorates.

On Friday, Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry also asked its citizens in Beirut to leave “as soon as possible” in light of the current situation.

Before Kuwait, Sweden’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday issued its “most stringent advisory” against all travel to Lebanon, asking its nationals in the country to leave while viable options remain.

The Iran-backed Hezbollah movement and Israel have been engaged in daily cross-border fire since the war in the Gaza Strip erupted last October. The skirmishes, which had been limited to tit-for-tat attacks, have spread in recent weeks, with the two parties striking deeper into the other's territory.

The increasing attacks coincide with Israeli warnings to wage an all-out war on Lebanon to eliminate the threat posed by Hezbollah. The group has also escalated its rhetoric, with its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, threatening last week that “no place” in Israel will be safe in the event of war.

In a televised speech last Wednesday, Nasrallah said leaders of armed groups from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen and other countries had offered to send thousands of fighters to back Hezbollah in its fight with Israel. Nasrallah claimed to have declined the offer, saying his organization has more than 100,000 fighters.

The United Nations warned Wednesday that a war in Lebanon would be “potentially apocalyptic.”

A war involving Lebanon “will draw in Syria . . . it will draw in others,” Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths told reporters in Geneva.
