Cruise to Lakshadweep (an incredible experience)

Just back from an incredible trip to Lakshadweep! My journey began with a luxurious 4-night sail on the Cordelia cruise's 'Empress.' This 12-floor beauty offered stunning ocean views from my room and top-notch amenities. The entertainment was a blast, with themed events keeping everyone engaged (10/10!). The ship was impeccably clean (10/10!), and for some, the ever-present availability of liquor might be a bonus (Just saying!). Lakshadweep itself is a dream come true. Crystal-clear waters lapped at pristine white sand beaches on Agati Island, a hidden gem with a population that would fit in a third of Chandigarh! (Think 7,000 people in a 4-5 km radius!). Snorkeling, scuba diving, and glass-bottom boat rides revealed a vibrant underwater world, perfect for nature lovers. I even ventured on a village tour and met some of the friendly locals. This place felt truly unique in India! A Gentle Note on the Cruise: While the cruise experience was mostly positive, there's room for improvement. The food variety, especially during off-peak hours, could be more extensive. Common options like pizza, burgers, and Asian cuisines were surprisingly limited. Even Indian dishes, despite the variety offered, lacked a certain punch. It felt like some options, like pizzas and Chinese dishes, were only available for an extra cost in USD. Additionally, long queues and occasional arguments at food counters created a less-than-ideal atmosphere. Considering the high cost and luxurious image of the cruise, a wider selection and improved delivery system would elevate the experience. Overall: Despite the food hiccups, the cruise was enjoyable. Lakshadweep's beauty truly stole the show! Cruise was never so popular in India, until Cordelia arrived . We planned it a month in advance and booked a 4 day cruise to Lakshadweep Islands. Let me take you through each and every aspect of the cruise. 1) Mesmerizing Interiors and great quality food / beverage: This would be an understatement when you talk about the ambience and the quality of food served at Cordelia. It is nothing but a 5 star deluxe hotel. I had booked a Mini Suite ( that comes with a balcony) and a Ocean View ( that has a window ). I do not not recommend the inner staterooms as they are dark and may be claustrophobic as it does not have any view and completely enclosed. There is no stopping when it comes to drinks. Have a variety of alcohols and soft-drinks ( completely incl. in your package) 2) Some of the staff members like Raj and Varsha from the front office ( guest services), MJ from the restaurant and the entire house keeping staff were so warm and welcoming . They are so calm and composed when they used to interact with us and especially MJ who narrated so many lovely stories to us of the his experience at the cruise. You will also find staff members at Front Office and Restaurants turn a deaf ear ( may be they get overwhelmed by seeing so much crowd and don't have too much patience to handle the guests ) 3. Stage Performances ..Mind blowing . They are easily comparable with the best in the world. The Balle Balle show artists ( Suraj, Sneh, Amit, Ansh, Onisha, Chitransh and so many others ) and Magician Tejas were just so good . You will love their performance and cannot wait for the next day to watch them again in a new avatar. 4. While the Cruise list if activities is power packed, I am not sure if you will enjoy all of it. There is just so much crowd that the enjoyment takes a back seat. I personally felt apart of the shows at the Marquee Theatre and the music at "Chairman's club" , other things can be skipped and you can relax in your Mini Suite Balcony , head to the gym or the walk on the Boat Deck viewing the sea and enjoy the breeze. 5. There is gambling for adults, gaming arcade for the kids ( all come at a extra cost) 6. When the cruise is full there are approx 1700-1800 ppl onboard, so image the rush that you will see on the cruise during 1. Boarding the Ship ( there is a queue) 2. breakfast, lunch or dinner 3. show times 4. various activities 5. Getting down from the ship So be prepared , and if you are not a person who like crowded places , it may be a little let down for you . But there is always the Boat Deck, where you can have a walk. Not many people walk there because they are busy participating in various activities going on the cruise. So you will have a very peaceful time on the boat deck. Hope you like my review. i am my family travelled on the Laskhwadeep cruise, it was amazing. from the very nice ship to enthralling entertainment, to yummy food ... everything was just perfect. My family loved the new year holidays and i can't thanks the Cordelia team for the amazing experience.

Cruising with Cordelia was a blast! The ship is huge with around 800 rooms, so there's always something cool to check out. I loved that they added an Indian touch to the entertainment shows, it made them really special. And let's talk about the food - 5 buffets a day and unlimited alcohol, I was in heaven! One of the best parts was chilling on the upper deck and watching the stars. Overall, Cordelia Cruise is a must-try for everyone. It's the only Indian cruise liner and super safe, so you can relax and enjoy every moment.

The cruise line has enabled over 200,000 travelers to explore the island since it began operating Lakshadweep sailings in 2021. A total of 80,000 passengers annually explore Lakshadweep through Cordelia Cruises, contributing to boosting local economies and strengthening relationships with the island communities.

Important Tips For Your Cruise Experience

Thanks for booking your Cordelia Cruise holiday with us. May we update you that this is Cordelia Cruise’s first sailing in Indian waters. This India sailing is a value for money product. Since cruising is a truly different holiday experience, it is important that we brief you on a few important points: 

• All guests should arrive at the Green Gate Ballard Pier by 2pm on the boarding day. As there is no seating area at the Green Gate, please that you will be required to queue up for embarkation process.
• Pl keep handy your RT-PCR negative certificate (taken within 72 hours of boarding) along with your Cruise Voucher 
• Mandatory is also the original government identification card that you had provided during booking process
• Carry your debit/credit cards as cash payments are not permitted on the cruise
• Outside food, beverages and alcohol is not allowed and must not be carried into the ship 
• We recommend that you also carry your sea-sickness medication/patches 
• Hence please carry your international adaptor (American plug 110V)  Please do not carry kettle, cooking equipment on-board as this is not permitted 
• Don’t forget to bring with you your personal toiletries  

* Note: Vaccine certificate is not required for boarding the cruise

• You will be sailing in international waters and hence your sim card will not be operational. Hence we recommend that you purchase a wifi card that is available onboard. 
• Shore excursions (eg in Goa and Lakshadweep) can only be purchased through the cruise shore excursion desk – onboard 
• Passengers who do not purchase the shore excursions mentioned above will not be allowed to disembark
• To ensure your health and safety, please maintain social distancing at all times, especially at the reception, dining and entertainments areas.
• In case of any assistance onboard, please reach out to the Cruise Help Desk at Reception. Do be assured that we have a special Thomas Cook-SOTC Tour Manger onboard.
• May we request you to take care while use of toilet facilities on the cruise. Please avoid disposing items like your mask, etc. in the toilets as this would result in drainage concerns   
• Please clear all your pending bills the day before disembarkation 
• Please have your breakfast and be in readiness for disembarkation by 10am on the last date of your cruise.
• Please ensure you do not take back any of the ship’s property when you disembark. A check is done and the cost will be debited to you.

Packages do not include air fare and transfers to and from ship terminals, visa fare or travel insurance. Surcharges, shore excursions or on board purchases are not included either. Your package includes cabin fare, port taxes, meals and some of the entertainment and activities.

CORONA PANDEMIC RELATED CLAUSE

Incase of the passenger's inability to travel due to the passenger / co-passenger testing positive for Corona or being required to undergo quarantine due to the testing positive of a non-traveling family member, then the passenger can reschedule to another cruise without any rescheduling charges (Subject to any fare difference will be payable and customer must reschedule the voyage 48 hours prior the departure). Customers must provide an authenticated medical certificate/letter to avail this benefit.

100% Refund will be made if Cordelia Management cancels any sailings.

Free rescheduling is limited at one time only.

Any further rescheduling will be chargeable @INR 5000/- Rs per Cabin.

Rescheduled Itinerary must commence on or before 31 st March 2022.

If a guest requested for rescheduling from the date of Departure before 4 days and above Rescheduling fee will be NIL.
