Comedy trailblazer and actor Dane Cook announced ‘Fresh New Flavor’. Produced by Live Nation, the massive 36-city tour kicks off on August 30 at Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas making stops across North America in New York, Houston, Atlanta and more before wrapping up in Denver at Paramount Theatre on December 14.

TICKETS: Tickets will be available starting with artist presale beginning Tuesday, April 30. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general onsale beginning Friday, May 3 at 10am local time at LiveNation.com.

Stand up comedy is usually not my cup of tea. I always feel awkward when watching comics make jokes that are just not funny at all.

Dane Cook, though, is one of the very few exceptions. He is probably one of the most popular comics in the world. I remember in high school, just a few years ago, he was constantly talked about in class. Even my teachers knew about him. So when 2 of my friends and I found out he was going to be performing very close to us, we all decided that we had to try and get tickets. We knew it would be tough, considering how popular he was, but we were lucky and bought 3 of the last tickets available. The seats weren't that great, but it didn't really matter to us.

The crowd was absolutely HUGE, loud, energetic, and downright giddy. There was almost constant laughter. Dane would say something that made at least 3/4 of the crowd laugh at least every 5 or 6 seconds. He was wearing his usual outfit that we all see him wear on Comedy Central, a pair of jeans and a T shirt. Anyone who watches Dane knows he is a very hyperactive performer, constantly moving around the stage, constantly changing the tone of his voice, switching from screaming to whispering, whatever. He is definitely one of the funniest dudes alive and we had a great time. Everyone there seemed to have a great time. My favorite bit from him was his one night stand bit, hands down. Hilarious. Great show!

For many concert, comedy, and special events at DPAC, we offer added views of the stage with two big screens (size: 16’ x 9’) hung to the sides of the stage or above the stage. These big screens can add to the visual experience of our concert, comedy, and special events and give guests seated farther from the stage what we like to call “a tenth row view”. Approval to use these screens always rests with the visiting show and about half of all concert and comedy events do use these screens.

Spokane is second stop for comedian, actor Dane Cook on his latest tour

Fresh humor is coming to the Fox Theater next week with Dane Cook and his “Fresh New Flavor Tour.”

The longtime comedian and actor launched the 36-city tour Friday in Las Vegas.

The Lilac City is his second stop and first of several shows in the Pacific Northwest.

At 52 years old, Cook has a long history in the entertainment industry, appearing in several films, such as 2000s “Good Luck Chuck,” “Dan in Real Life,” “My Best Friend’s Girl” and “Mr. Brooks.”

In an Aug. 20 interview , Cook revealed it’s been more than a decade since he last appeared in a movie but that he’s “gearing up to do one now.”

“I’m carnivore dieting to get myself down to fighting weight,” he told Boston Magazine .

According to IMDB , Cook is collaborating with director Greg Coolidge on a comedy film, “Guys Night,” in preproduction.

In 2022, Cook released a top-charting comedy special, “Above it All,” with director Marty Callner.

The Thursday , Sept. 5, show is recommended for ages 16 and older, with Cook appearing at 7 p.m. Tickets start as low as $35 for balcony seats and go as high as $244.90 for the more expensive of the two VIP packages.

Chicago girls who ran lemonade stand gifted VIP tickets to Sky-Fever game: 'It was mind-blowing'

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two young sisters from the South Side are headed to Friday's big Sky game!

It's a story making Chicago proud, and it all started out as an act of charity.

The two middle school sisters from the South Side, Joy and Jade Lee, took time out of their summer break to support children with cancer.

"We were selling lemonade to raise money for St. Jude," Joy said.

The sisters said that the initial sale was so successful, they decided to have another lemonade sale, but this time for something they've been wanting for a long time: to see the Chicago Sky play during Friday's game.

"We love Angel Reese," Jade said. "I feel like me and her, personality is like the same. We love the color pink. We love being sportsy. We love being sportsy and pretty at the same time."

The mission was on to raise money to buy tickets. The girls said their lemonade sales started out slow, but that didn't last long.

"The second we got on the news, everybody started coming up saying, 'we just saw you little girls on the news and we want to support your business,'" Joy said.

People from all over flocked to Roseland to support the Lee sisters. Donations ranged from a few dollars to hundreds of dollars.

The largest donation was from Chicago businessman Early Walker, who gave the girls $2,000 for their hard work.

The ultimate surprise came from Chicago Sky's mascot, Skye the Lioness, on behalf of the team: four VIP tickets to Friday night's game against the Indiana Fever, which happens to be Barbie Night.

"It was mind-blowing," Jade said. "I could never imagine it."

That wasn't the end of the surprises. The girls received a signed Angel Reese basketball thanks to the non-profit Heavenly Sent U, and they rode to the game in style thanks to Early Walker. On top of that, the girls got to have a pizza party with close friends before the game.

Their mother, Brittany Powell-Lee, is blown away by the community support.

"To see so many different people to come out to my little girls' lemonade stand, wow," Powell-Lee said. "Lemonade brought a whole city, and not just a community, together."

Since the Chicago Sky covered the girls' tickets, they're now sitting on more than $4,000. They said they'll save some of the money for college, some will go towards a trip, and the rest will go to church.

The girls told ABC7 to stay tuned, because their lemonade stand days are just getting started.

Nebraska Volleyball's John Cook Reveals New Venue for 2025, Format for Red-White Scrimmage

The No. 2 Nebraska volleyball team is in its final stages of preseason camp before embarking on another pressure-packed campaign that sees the Huskers as Big Ten Conference favorites and an expectation to match their 2023 success -  which ended with a national championship appearance. Although, that doesn’t stop the program from looking ahead to future seasons. 

Husker coach John Cook confirmed that he’s in talks with the Nebraska Athletic Department and the NCAA to host high profile non-conference matches at Pinnacle Bank Arena for the 2025 season. Nebraska has never played inside PBA, with Cook resisting the idea of playing inside the 15,500-seat arena in downtown Lincoln.

The Huskers won’t get close to breaking the 92,003 who watched NU sweep UNO for Volleyball Day in Nebraska at Memorial Stadium, but it will be another marquee event to help catapult college volleyball into mainstream media much like the breakout women’s college basketball and the WNBA has seen over the past few seasons.

“There’s a lot of pressure for us to go there,” Cook said. “We’re talking about doing a couple matches there. PBA is open and so we’ll see. I had to bet money right now I would say 'yes'.” 

Shifting the gaze to 2024, Cook and his team are on the horizon of the annual Red-White scrimmage which is set for 6 p.m. CDT on Saturday at the Devaney Center.

Despite the return of nearly the entire starting lineup, Saturday will still go a long way in determining Nebraska’s lineup ahead of its matchup with No. 9 Kentucky next Tuesday on ESPN2. Four hitters need to fit into two starting roles while Cook and his staff need to decide how they’ll play their floor defenders in the back row.

Teams have yet to be finalized, but Cook revealed that at least four sets will be played Saturday night. 

Tuesday’s match against the Wildcats will have other changes the No. 2 Huskers will have to deal with as part of the AVCA First Serve Showcase. The event also includes No. 3 Wisconsin and No. 6 Louisville. The showcase will feature mostly international rules with no line judges, a new replay system, faster timeouts, and an eight-second serve clock. 

Nebraska will have a consistent presence at the AVCA Showcase, which will be hosted at the KFC Yum! Center in downtown Louisville which is also hosting this season’s Final Four. Teams can only be a part of this event two times every four years. As Cook also mentioned, it’s a chance for volleyball to stand on its own. 

“The best thing is it’s a great opportunity for us to showcase volleyball before football starts. I think that’s key,” Cook said. “...There’s going to be four college football playoff games in the week the Final Four is going. There’s going to be a lot of competition and a lot of focus on football that could take away from volleyball. This is our chance to start things early.”
