Taylor Swift’s Record-Breaking Eras Tour: See the Setlist

by Lorie Liebig August 10, 2023, 5:18 pm

On Wednesday (August 9), the extensive first leg of Taylor Swift ‘s career-spanning Eras Tour came to a triumphant close. During the final performance of six straight nights at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, the 33-year-old hitmaker announced that a re-recorded version of her 2014 album  1989  will be released on October 27.

Videos by American Songwriter

The news is just the latest in a sea of special announcements and surprises that have coincided with Swift’s first headlining tour in five years. Since kicking off on March 17 in Glendale, Arizona, The Eras Tour has been Swift’s platform to share news directly with her dedicated fans. Along with the release dates for Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) and the extended edition of her 2022 album Midnights , she debuted her music videos for “Karma” and “I Can See You” from the stage.

The special connection that Swift has fostered with her massive fanbase has helped land The Eras Tour in the history books. The U.S. Justice Department launched a formal investigation into Ticketmaster after unpredicted demand for the tour caused the site to crash during its initial pre-sale.

On a more positive note, sales of beads and craft supplies rose due to thousands of fans creating Swift-themed friendship bracelets to exchange at show dates. The Eras Tour is also on track to become the highest-grossing concert tour in history , breaking a sales record previously held by Elton John.

If you didn’t get to see Swift’s visual spectacle, which includes vignette performances of songs from each of her past albums, you’re in luck. Additional U.S. dates were recently announced for 2024 , with more dates expected to be unveiled in the coming months.

If you don’t have your tickets to the Eras Tour yet, you can get them on StubHub , where orders are 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s FanProtect program. StubHub is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

Eras tour book recs : book recs based on taylor swift’s eras tour (44 books).

Eras Tour Book Recs

Eras tour book recs – If you’re an international swiftie like me who spends her entire weekend watching clips of the eras tour let’s be friends alreadyyy.

It’s absolutely mind blowing how we get to experience each and every era all over again (well for me through my phone -_-) but it still counts! And I also get to read books that actually feel like Taylor Swift each era. No I’m not insane I really mean it!

Books and Music are my absolute two favorite things and I love to connect the lyrics with every book I read. So I took the opportunity and picked some books that actually feel like Taylor Swift eras.

The Eras tour has approximately 44 songs and 2 surprise acoustic songs every week. And I chose some of my favorite tracks off the setlist from each era so you can read some book vibing with everyone on the era’s tour until tay tay announces international dates! <3

Taylor Swift each era represents a different phase of her life and career, and has its own unique sound and style. The Eras tour starts with the intro of Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince (shortened) And few of lovers track to fearless, evermore, reputation, speak now, red , folklore and lastly 1989.

sooo …are you Ready For It?

Table of Contents

“Lover” is Taylors seventh studio album and the first era in the eras tour. It has the largest track list which has 18 tracks total but she only played 5 tracks (‘Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince’, ‘Cruel Summer’, ‘The Man’, ‘You Need to Calm Down, ‘Lover’ & ‘The Archer’) and I chose 3 of my favorites off this era.

1. ‘Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince’ – Once Upon a Broken Heart

Eras Tour Book Recs

A book about a pink haired girl and a prince who breaks hearts? Definitely screams Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince. The Ballad of Never After is the sequel to Once Upon a Broken Heart, a spin-off of the popular Caraval trilogy by Stephanie Garber. And you’re most likely want to run away with them too.

2. ‘Cruel Summer’ – The Summer I Turned Pretty

Eras Tour Book Recs

The ultimate summer anthem only belongs to this book series. With summer approaching along with the new season of the summer I turned pretty I couldn’t think of a better book to match this song. The Summer I Turned Pretty is about belly who spends summer at the cousins beach every year with her mom and brother at her mom best friend Susan’s beach house. It has the ultimate summer vibes that will make you scream “But ooh, whoa, oh, It’s a cruel summer”

Spoiler Alert : The first season has cruel summer in the first episode.

3. ‘The Archer’ – Happy Place

Eras Tour Book Recs

If I’ve to describe the main character of a happy place, I’d just say this verse. It follows ex-fiance’s Harriet and Wyn who were together for almost a decade and share the same friends group. In order to not ruin their annual weeklong vacation for everyone they have to pretend to be together for a while. This story is written from Harriet’s pov and it’s a dual timeline which keeps jumping from “Happy Place” which are times throughout Harriet’s life with friends and Wyn and all her happy moments to “Real Life” which is the present time where everything is a mess. And she thinks everyone could see right through her.

Fearless Era

The next Fearless era starts with “fearless” and has total 3 songs “Fearless”, “You Belong With Me, “Love Story” and 3 of them are my favorite so I was really excited to choose 3 of my favorite books too.

1. ‘Fearless’ – Cruel King

Eras Tour Book Recs

I absolutely love the “dancing in the rain” trope in romance book and I’ve a few book recs that match this song but I only chose this book because it has an exact scene of the mmc dragging the Fmc into the rain and becoming fearless and strong throughout the book just like the lyrics. Cruel king is book #0 in the royal elite series and can be read as standalone.

2. ‘You Belong With Me’ – People We Meet on Vacation

Eras Tour Book Recs

Well
I was really confused which Emily Henry book to choose for this song between ‘Beach Read’ and ‘People We Meet on Vacation’. Because beach read has an exact reference of you belong with me where the main characters write something in their notebook and hold them up and pass messages and also mentions

“This reminds me of that Taylor Swift video.”

But eventually I picked the latter because Alex and Poppy are the ultimate friends to lovers and throughout the years in dual timelines they prove they only belong with each other forever and always.

3. ‘Love Story’ – Powerless

Eras Tour Book Recs

Imagine your life is a mess, everything is wrong and going downhill, you have no idea what to do with yourself so you just want your prince charming to come and take you somewhere far away, worry about nothing and make your own love story. Well that’s kind of the theme of powerless where a runaway bride Slone takes a road trip with her childhood friend Jasper to escape reality for a while which takes them on a whole different journey.

Evermore Era

I was really expecting “Folklore” before “Evermore” but the aesthetic of evermore is perfect right after “Fearless”. The setlist has ‘Tis the Damn Season”, “Willow”, “Marjorie”, “Champagne Problems”, “Tolerate It”

1. ‘Willow – Twisted Games

eras tour books

Royal forbidden romance where the princess sneaks out to meet her lover after dark who had a rough traumatic childhood and the sunshine princess will do everything to help him heal. I don’t think there’s anything more fitting than these lyrics to describe twisted games. Also if you liked the princess diaries you will love this book. This is the 2nd book in the twisted series but can be read as standalone.

2.’Champagne Problems’ – Little Women

eras tour books

I tried to pick contemporary books for all the songs but nothing can replace little woman for champagne problems. This song is only made for Jo and Laurie periodt. That’s it, that’s all.

3. ‘Tolerate It’ – Deception Trilogy

eras tour books

This song was originally inspired by a book called “Rebecca” which is a gothic novel where an unnamed young woman who impetuously marries a wealthy widower, before discovering that both he and his household are haunted by the memory of his late first wife, the title character. But I chose the “Deception Trilogy” which I think explores all the meanings of “tolerate it” . I can’t say much without spoiling as the 3 books have multiple timelines but mostly from the Fmc pov to not be able to tolerate this anymore and break free and leave them in ruins

Reputation Era

When I say I’m in my villain era I just play “Reputation”. This era has only 4 tracks, “Ready For It?”, “Delicate”, “Don’t Blame Me”, “Look What You Made Me Do”.

1. ‘
Ready for It? – The Inheritance Games

eras tour books

When you become a billionaire heiress overnight but have to solve countless mysteries, riddles and puzzles and go on an emotional rollercoaster journey with someone you might have feelings. The Inheritance Games is about Avery who gets stuck in this messy situation but definitely ready for it. it’s part of a trilogy, can be read as standalone but for best experience you should read the whole series.

2. ‘Delicate’ – Addicted series

eras tour books

Childhood bestfriends Lily and Loren pretends to fake date to hide their addictions from their family but as time passes they realize they need to heal for each other and their future. But promise gets broken and their reputation keeps getting worse but they eventually fight their demons for themselves. Addicted to you is a 5 book series and also part of the Calloway sisters series.

3. ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ –  Mindfuck Series

eras tour books

Lana Myers, that’s it, that’s all, I don’t need to say anything because this verse sums up the whole book and everyone should read this series. It follows Logan who is an FBI agent in search of a serial killer who happens to be her girlfriend but he doesn’t find out till book 4. But there’s more plot in the series as we get to see the backstory and how Lana rose up from the dead to take revenge from people who made her do horrible things.

The Speak Now Era

Well the “Speak Now” era has only 1 track which is “Enchanted” but it’s okay because we’re getting speak now tv on July 7!!! But I chose 3 books that match the lyrics of enchanted anyway!

‘Enchanted’

1.the finisher (dark verse #4).

eras tour books

Your eyes whispered, “Have we met?” Is it just me or this reminds me of the amnesia, second chance romance trope? The Finisher is the 4th book in the dark verse series and I would have loved to recommend this as a standalone but it’s better in order so you won’t get spoiled. It’s about Alpha and Zephyr who were childhood friends to lovers but something happens and they fall apart but 10 years later they meet again but our Alpha has no memory of his past so when Zephyr approaches him with an unresisting deal he gets wrapped in the familiar warmth and his eyes whispered, “Have we met?” and he was definitely enchanted to meet her.

2. Charlie, Love and Clichés

eras tour books

When they accidentally meet at a diner starting a conversation and spending the whole evening
.he sneaks notes into her books every chance he gets
yup this second chance, workplace romance is absolutely fitting with this song. Charlie, Love and Clichés is Ella Maise newest release and you should read this to experience fluffy workplace rom com through William and Charlie.

3. Better than the movies

eras tour books

Last but not the least I was enchanted to read this book. Better than the movies, a contemporary, ya, book. Which not only has quotes from 2000s romcom but also gives us an experience of that. Wes and Liz are neighbors and childhood enemies to lovers but Liz needs his help so she can get her crush’s attention. As they start fake dating she realizes she has feelings for Wes which keeps her up at night with questions who does she has feelings for (well we know how does that ends)

“Red” has only 4 tracks, “22”, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”, “I Knew You Were Trouble”, “All Too Well (10-Minute Version)”. Here are my favorites

1. ’22’ – Collided

eras tour books

You’re miserable but that’s magical because it’s your 22nd birthday and you should totally forget about the deadline and everything and just blast 22 tv which is exactly what Sophie does in ‘Collided’ to celebrate 22nd birthday. Collided is the 2nd book in the dirty air series and can be read as standalone.

2. ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ – King of Pride

eras tour books

Grumpy reserved mmc falls for the sunshine badass Fmc who barged into his life bringing troubles but also teaches him to enjoy life. Flying into places
. Isabella and Kai discover more about each other, even through all the trouble and family drama they find peace in themselves. King of pride is the 2nd book in the king of sin series which is interconnected standalones.

3. ‘All Too Well (10 Minute Version)’ – November 9

eras tour books

There are so many songs that remind me of All Too Well, especially the 10 min version but I can’t stop connecting the lyrics with November 9. This book is about Ben and Fallon. Fallon is set to move across the country but their instant connection leads them to spend the last day together where they discover more about themselves and before they leave they make a deal to meet each other every November 9 for the next 5 years and things takes turn to different directions and they discover past secrets and brutal truths.

Folklore Era

“Folklore” has the longest track list on the eras tour tied with “Midnights” which is 7. “The 1”, “Betty”, “The Last Great American Dynasty”, “August”, “Illicit Affairs”, “My Tears Ricochet”, &”Cardigan.

1.Invisible string – Parallel Series

eras tour books

“I smile, but my throat tightens at his words. Lately I’ve had this odd sense that our time is running out, and I have no idea why ”

I can’t put it into words how much I love this book. Parallel and intersect are a duet about Nick and Quinn. Quinn keeps dreaming about a man and a whole different life that she thinks she has lived before but that doesn’t make any sense to her until she meets that man in real life and they start to find truth and connect the dots in the short time that’s been tying them in an invisible string.

2. ‘August’ – Beach Read

eras tour books

Okay
I didn’t pick this book because the Mmc’s name is August (well ..maybe I did). Beach read follows January and August who were college rivals and now beach house neighbors. Eventually they run into each other, form a friendship and make a challenge to switch genres to beat writer’s block as they begin their journey they slip into a moment of time and get lost into memory.

3, ‘Cardigan’ – Love and Other Words

eras tour books

A boy next door, whom you spend your childhood reading in your closet, “Love and Other Words” is about Macy and Elliot who are childhood friends to lovers to strangers they have feelings since they met cause they knew everything when they were young but things happened they lose each other and spend the next decade haunted in their what ifs but they find each other again and give themselves a second chance for a happy ending.

Are we actually getting “1989 TV” next? because of the easter eggs? Nvm “1989” has 5 tracks, “Style”, “Blank Space”, “Shake it Off”, “Wildest Dreams” & “Bad Blood”.

1. Style – King of Wrath

eras tour books

Grumpy billionaire Dante who has James Dean look in his eyes
and the classic red lips that defines jewelry heiress Vivian’s character. Dante and Vivian are set in an arranged marriage. They had a rocky start and no matter how many times they go crashing down, they come back every time and of course never go out of style.

2. ‘Shake It Off’ – Heartless

eras tour books

Willa is always vibing with positive energy and jamming shake it off at the top of her lungs because she thinks everything is gonna be alright.  yup that’s how I imagine her in heartless.

2. Bad Blood – Monster Trilogy

eras tour books

“She wasn’t doing anything HEY STOP!” This is me yelling with Taylor while reading the monster trilogy which is about kirill and sasha. Just like any other Rina Kent book it’s hard to explain but in the 2nd book there’s this exact situation where I pictured Sasha saying these lyrics with rage. Monster trilogy books ended on cliffhangers so it’s better to read the 3 books in order.

Midnights Era

And finally we have “Midnights” which has total 7 tracks just like “Folklore”. “Lavender Haze”, “Anti-Hero”, “Midnight Rain”, “Vigilante S—“, “Bejeweled”, “Mastermind”, & “Karma”

1. ‘Lavender Haze’- Book Lovers

eras tour books

Lavender haze is definitely about Nora as she’s always under scrutiny but finds a man that handles everything beautifully even though everything is new to her she feels the lavender haze creepin up on her. Book lovers is a small town rom com about a literary agent and book editor with the ultimate Gilmore Girls vibe.

‘2. Anti-Hero’ – Reminders Of Him

eras tour books

When everyone thinks you’re the problem and your insecurities won’t let you live in peace it’s definitely exhausting always rooting for the anti hero. Kenna Rowan returns to her hometown after 5 years being imprisoned. And everyone thinks she’s the anti hero but eventually she fights her own demons and gets herself back.

3. ‘Mastermind’ – Twisted Lies

eras tour books

Well this probably spoils the book but I can’t find a better book that fits with these lyrics. Twisted lies is the 4th and final book in the twisted series but can be read as standalone and you just need to read this book to find out who’s the mastermind.

You made it to the end!! I’ll be making more songs as books post and hopefully all the surprise songs too. So stay tuned and follow me on the socials so you won’t miss all the freshly brewed contents.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour book looks: See the beautiful book covers that scream Swift

eras tour books

If your TikTok feed is anything like ours, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has taken over your life. We set our watches to alert us when it’s secret song time , we text our Swifties group chat which outfits she’s wearing in any given show and of course we’ve hosted a friendship-bracelet-making night.

And as book lovers, we figured the best thing to do with all of this energy and devotion
was to match book covers to Taylor’s different Eras costumes! (Please note, we’re just going for the covers here, not the actual content of the book.)

If you have tickets to a later show date and are (somehow) avoiding tour spoilers, consider yourself warned.

' Lover' era: 'Song of Silver, Flame Like Night' by Amélie Wen Zhao

You see the clock countdown on the screen. You hear a soft, repeated “it’s been a long time coming” –– and you know you’re about to have the best night of your life.

Up first in the Eras Tour is Taylor Swift’s 'Lover' era, in which Taylor emerges from a cloudlike petal in this gorgeous custom Atelier Versace bodysuit adorned with reflective blue, pink and silver jewels.

These jewels perfectly match the cover of Amélie Wen Zhao’s "Song of Silver, Flame Like Night," a YA fantasy inspired by the mythology and folklore of ancient China. In this story, one girl must find out the secrets of her nation’s past — and unveil the demons that sleep in its center.

' Fearless' era: 'Lies We Sing to the Sea' by Sarah Underwood

Taylor goes back in time to her Grammy-award winning 'Fearless' era, with hand hearts, twirls and country twang. And yes, she’s ready to dance in a storm in this Roberto Cavalli gold dress.

The fringe of this dress goes swimmingly with the golden waves featured on the cover of Sarah Underwood’s Sapphic Greek mythological fantasy "Lies We Sing to the Sea." If you’re a fan of "The Song of Achilles" by Madeline Miller or "Lore" by Alexandra Bracken, check this title out.

' Evermore' era: 'Painted Devils' by Margaret Owen

Ethereal, witchy and so divine, the 'Evermore' era is next up! In a corseted and beaded yellow Etro dress, Taylor gives an homage to her opera-singing grandmother and sings fan-favorite "Champagne Problems" at the piano before a minutes-long break for applause.

We love how cottage-core this dress is, and the vibes and detailing go hand-in-hand with Margaret Owen’s "Painted Devils." In this much-awaited sequel to "Little Thieves," we revisit Vanja, the adopted daughter of Death and Fortune as she accidentally starts a cult, much like intro to the "Evermore" set of the show! This is a classic-feeling fairy tale that will put you in the headspace for a full listen of your "Evermore" vinyl.

' Reputation' era: 'Eclipse' by Stephenie Meyer

Are you ready for it? The 'Reputation' era is bombastic, bold, and absolutely iconic –– just look at this Roberto Cavalli catsuit!

Because "Reputation" is so unforgettable and also because we couldn’t get this image out of our heads from the moment we saw it, we think "Eclipse" by Stephenie Meyer is the best book look to go with it.

Don’t blame us, this pair is perfection.

  • "Eclipse" for $16 at Bookshop.org

' Speak Now' era: 'Foul Lady Fortune' by Chloe Gong

We are so enchanted to meet you
and also to have "Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)" in our hands soon. We were all shocked that the "Speak Now" set of the Eras tour is only one song long, but what a song it is! And Taylor looks absolutely enchanting in this Nicole + Felicia ball gown.

"Foul Lady Fortune" by Chloe Gong is not only an amazing color match for this dress, but there's also a trail of smoke emerging from the bottle on the cover, much like the smoke Taylor disappears into at the end of the song. Plus, for all the longtime Swifties, doesn’t the bottle remind you of the Wonderstruck perfume from the "Speak Now" era?

  • "Foul Lady Fortune" for $18 at Amazon
  • "Foul Lady Fortune" for $24 at Bookshop.org

' Red' era: 'A Fire Endless' by Rebecca Ross

Loving him was red, burning red
a fire endless, you might say. We are obsessed with this epic Ashish romper and matching coat that Taylor wears for all 10 minutes of "All Too Well" during the "Red" set of the Eras Tour.

We love how the pop of the guitar puts the focus on the harp on the cover of Rebecca Ross’ "A Fire Endless," the sequel to her adult fantasy "A River Enchanted."

This duology makes a great comfort read for rainy days. It's inspired by Scottish folktales and feels like a modern classic.

  • "A Fire Endless" for $19 at Amazon
  • "A Fire Endless" for $19 at Bookshop.org

' Folklore' era: 'The Great Transition' by Nick Fuller Googins

Moody, wistful and flowing, Taylor’s "Folklore" set features some of her most show-stopping vocals, especially when she kneels on the ground to belt "Illicit Affairs" in this bohemian-inspired Alberta Ferretti dress.

The rippling fabric reminds us of water and sky, so "The Great Transition" by Nick Fuller Googins is a gorgeous fit. This is a climate utopia novel for fans of Emily St. John Mandel following a family navigating crisis –– it comes out in August, so preorder your copy!'

  • "The Great Transition" for $26 at Bookshop.org

' 1989' era: 'Revelle' by Lyssa Mia Smith

Swift is that girl in this Roberto Cavalli top and skirt. At first glance this set looks monochromatic, but up close the beading pattern reveals a complicated, kaleidoscope-like pattern.

Welcome to New York! "Revelle" by Lyssa Mia Smith couldn’t be a better fit for this outfit if it tried. This magical YA fantasy is inspired by Moulin Rouge but set in Prohibition-era New York City.

Oh, Taylor, we wish you would tell us when "1989 (Taylor’s Version)" is on its way!

  • "Revelle" for $20 at Amazon
  • "Revelle" for $19 at Bookshop.org

' Midnights' era: 'Glitterland' by Alexis Hall

Meet her at midnight! And by the "Midnights: set of the Eras Tour, it really is close to midnight! To close out her epic three and a half hour show, Taylor shimmers in this Oscar de la Renta bodysuit.

What could be a better fit for our bejeweled queen than "Glitterland" by Alexis Hall ? This sparkling LGBTQ romance follows Ash Winters, a former literary darling turned pulpy crime-fiction writer and Darian Taylor, an Essex-lad who is flashy and full of life. Like Taylor’s "Midnights" album, this story focuses on mental health, specifically depression, and we loved watching their love unfold. Read this romance expecting plenty of mirror balls!

How Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Conquered the World

The pop star’s record-breaking, career-spanning show has dominated the summer, commanding attention and whipping up demand at a level thought unachievable in a fragmented age.

  • Share full article

Taylor Swift, wearing a sparkly costume and knee-high boots and singing into a microphone, in front of a purple and pink fabric backdrop on the stage.

By Ben Sisario

Reporting from Kansas City, Mo., and New York

As Taylor Swift rolled into Los Angeles this week, the frenzy surrounding her record-breaking Eras Tour was already in high gear.

Headlines gushed that she had given $100,000 bonuses to her crew. Politicians asked her to postpone her concerts in solidarity with striking hotel workers. Scalped tickets were going for $3,000 and up. And there were way, way too many friendship bracelets to count.

These days, the center of an otherwise splintered music world can only be Taylor Swift.

The pop superstar’s tour, which is now finishing its initial North American leg with six nights at SoFi Stadium outside Los Angeles, has been both a business and a cultural juggernaut. Swift’s catalog of generation-defining hits and canny marketing sense have helped her achieve a level of white-hot demand and media saturation not seen since the 1980s heyday of Michael Jackson and Madonna — a dominance that the entertainment business had largely accepted as impossible to replicate in the fragmented 21st century.

“The only thing I can compare it to is the phenomenon of Beatlemania,” said Billy Joel, who attended Swift’s show in Tampa, Fla., with his wife and young daughters.

In a summer of tours by stars like BeyoncĂ©, Bruce Springsteen, Morgan Wallen and Drake, Swift’s stands apart, in numbers and in media noise. Although Swift, 33, and her promoters do not publicly report box-office figures, the trade publication Pollstar estimated that she has been selling about $14 million in tickets each night. By the end of the full world tour, which is booked with 146 stadium dates well into 2024, Swift’s sales could reach $1.4 billion or more — exceeding Elton John’s $939 million for his multiyear farewell tour, the current record-holder.

Swift has now had more No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 over the course of her career than any other woman, surpassing Barbra Streisand. With the tour lifting Swift’s entire body of work, she has placed 10 albums on that chart this year and is the first living artist since the trumpeter and bandleader Herb Alpert in 1966 to have four titles in the Top 10 at the same time.

“It’s a pretty amazing feat,” Alpert, 88, said in a phone interview. “With the way radio is these days, and the way music is distributed, with streaming, I didn’t think anyone in this era could do it.”

But how did a concert tour become so much more: fodder for gossip columns, the subject of weather reports , a boon for friendship-bracelet beads — the unofficial currency of Swiftie fandom — and the reason nobody could get a hotel room in Cincinnati at the end of June?

“She is the best C.E.O., and best chief marketing officer, in the history of music,” said Nathan Hubbard, a longtime music and ticketing executive who co-hosts a Swift podcast . “She is following people like Bono, Jay-Z and Madonna, who were acutely aware of their brands. But of all of them, Taylor is the first one to be natively online.”

Swifties have chronicled the stream of celebrity fans who have turned up each night: Julia Roberts, the New York Jets’ new quarterback Aaron Rodgers, even Flavor Flav of Public Enemy. But Swift has also made each show a news event by adding two “surprise songs,” often with headline-grabbing guests. On the July day that she put out a music video featuring Taylor Lautner, an ex-boyfriend, the actor backflipped across the stage in Kansas City, Mo., and paid Swift effusive tribute — “not just for the singer you are,” Lautner said, “but for the human you are.” The crowd registered its approval with an earsplitting roar.

The Taylorpalooza extends to every level of the news media, which began the coverage cycle by chronicling Swift’s ticketing fiasco last November, when fans — and scalpers’ bots — crushed Ticketmaster’s systems, leading to a heated Senate Judiciary hearing . Since then, seemingly no nugget of Swift news has escaped coverage, from the stars in the stands to oddities like a Seattle concert that, according to one researcher, shook the ground with an intensity equivalent to a 2.3-magnitude earthquake .

Music critics have portrayed the Eras Tour as showing Swift at the top of her game as a media-savvy, big-tent talent, a pop star with a knack for grand spectacle as well as the polished artistry of a classic songwriter.

Shania Twain, the country-pop star whose career in some ways prefigured Swift’s, caught the Las Vegas stop of the Eras Tour, a 44-plus song production that goes as long as three and a half hours. She praised Swift’s “beautiful balance” of high-tech stagecraft and intimate performance segments. “I have to applaud her,” Twain said in a telephone interview. “As a performer, I know that work that goes into it.”

The power of Swift’s fan army — and fear of crossing the star, or even appearing to — has kept nearly all of the press about the tour sunny. Though some fans (and parents) balked at the ticket prices and challenges of securing seats, most frustration was directed squarely at Ticketmaster, not Swift. After a few weeks of headlines romantically linking Swift with a frontman some fans considered to be problematic, reports spread in the celebrity pages that they had split. (Swift’s representatives declined to comment for this article.)

For fans, the shows are a pilgrimage, and a rediscovery of the joys of mass gatherings. Flights are packed with Swifties, and travelers trade stories and compare outfits — drawn from looks associated with Swift “eras” — in stadium corridors and parking lots. In Kansas City, the comedian Nikki Glaser was attending her eighth show, a commitment that she estimated has cost her $25,000.

“This year I decided not to freeze my eggs,” Glaser said. “I’m going to put that money toward the thing I love most in the world, which is Taylor Swift.”

Before Eras, Swift hadn’t been on tour since 2018. And her catalog has grown by seven No. 1 albums since then, fueled in part by three rerecorded “Taylor’s Versions” of her first LPs — a project hailed by Swift’s fans as a crusade to regain control of her music, though it is also an act of revenge after the sale of Swift’s former record label, a move that, she said , “stripped me of my life’s work.”

“Folklore” and “Evermore” expanded her palate into fantastical indie-folk and brought new collaborators into the fold: Aaron Dessner from the band the National and Justin Vernon, a.k.a. Bon Iver, rock-world figures who helped attract new listeners.

The other major tour this year that is enticing fans to book transcontinental flights, and to show up costumed and in rapture, is also by a woman: BeyoncĂ©, 41, whose Renaissance tour is a fantasia of disco and retrofuturism. Like Swift, she is also a trailblazing artist-entrepreneur, maintaining tight control over her career and fostering a rich connection with fans online. Together with Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie,” a critique of the patriarchy told in hot pink, they are signs of powerful women ruling the discourse of pop culture.

But in music, at least, the scale and success of Swift’s tour is without equal. Later this month, after completing 53 shows in the United States, she will kick off an international itinerary of at least 78 more before returning to North America next fall. Beyoncé’s full tour has 56 dates; Springsteen’s, 90. (Recently, Harry Styles wrapped a 173-date tour in arenas and stadiums, grossing about $590 million.)

Outside Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, fans posed for selfies and shared their ticketing ordeals. Esmeralda Tinoco and Sami Cytron, 24-year-old former sorority sisters, said they had paid $645 for two seats. A stone’s throw away, Karlee Patrick and Emily DeGruson, both 18 and dressed as a pair in angel/devil costumes after a line in Swift’s “Cruel Summer,” sat “Taylorgating” at the edge of the parking lot; they said they had paid $100 for parking but couldn’t afford tickets.

As Swift’s opening acts finished, the crowd rushed in. Glaser, the comedian, later said that of the eight shows she had been to, her favorites were the ones where she had brought her mother — and converted her to Swiftie fandom.

“Everyone is in love with her,” Glaser said her mom told her after one show in Texas. “Now I get it.”

Taylor Swift - Fan Guide To The Eras Tour: 4 Collectible Covers, 1 Keepsake Issue, Swifties, Rehearsals, Concerts, Special Guests, Songs, Sets, Designer Outfits, Cities, 10 Eras, 100 Photos & Poster!

THIS COLLECTIBLE COMMEMORATIVE ISSUE HAS 4 UNIQUE COVERS, ALL 4 ISSUES/COVERS HAVE THE SAME INSIDE CONTENT.

Taylor Swift has had her fair share of haters over the years, but even they can’t deny her Eras Tour has been the hottest ticket since it kicked off in March 2023.

And while anticipation and speculation went into overdrive, Taylor delivered on the hype with a three-and-a-half-hour concert that spanned her 17-year musical history in cities throughout the United States before taking her tour internationally.

Swifties were so excited about the show that many complained of not being able to remember it afterward. Concertgoer Nicole Booz told Time it felt like “an out-of-body experience, as though it didn’t really happen to me. Yet I know it did because my bank account took a $950 hit to cover the ticket.”

In this 100-page special commemorative issue, we look at every aspect of Taylor’s Eras Tour, from how she prepped during rehearsals, to her opening night, to all the special guests who have joined her on stage. We dive into each of the 10 eras featured in her concert, with more than 100 photos, and info about the songs, sets, and all of Taylor’s designer outfits, as well as the special moments—some funny, some emotional—that fans will remember forever.

Whether you were there in the audience or are looking forward to Taylor coming to a city near you, this is one keepsake magazine all Swifties need to have in their collection.

Guinness World Records

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour breaks record as highest-grossing music tour ever

Taylor swift flexing bicep

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour is officially the highest-grossing music tour ever, becoming the first to surpass $1 billion dollars in revenue.

The tour, which began in March 2023 and is set to conclude in December 2024 after a total of 151 shows worldwide, has earned $1.04 billion (ÂŁ840 million) to date, according to Pollstar.

This breaks the record set by Elton John’s five-year farewell tour which ended earlier this year, bringing in $939 million (£749 million) over 328 shows.

Swift’s sixth concert tour is in fact so popular that it has earned more than this year’s next two highest-grossing tours (Beyoncé’s and Bruce Springsteen’s) combined.

Beyoncé’s 56-date Renaissance World Tour broke Madonna’s 14-year-old record for the highest-grossing music tour by a female artist , earning $579 million (ÂŁ468 million) between May and October, before The Eras Tour subsequently took the title.

Described by Swift as a journey through all her musical “eras”, each show is over 3.5 hours long with a set list of 44 songs divided into 10 acts.

It has received immensely positive reviews from critics, who have heaped praise on the production’s concept and quality, as well as Swift’s performances.

Her devoted fanbase, the Swifties, have turned out in full force to see their idol, crashing ticketing sites, selling out hotels, and even causing earthquake-like seismic activity at certain shows, as happened in Seattle in July.

With roughly 72,000 people in attendance at each concert, and tickets averaging around $238, the tour is grossing over $17 million per show.

According to Pollstar, 4.3 million tickets have been sold to date, and at this trajectory, the tour could realistically rake in over $2 billion dollars if all the remaining scheduled shows are played.

Merchandise has also proven to be a lucrative source of revenue, with estimates that it has brought in around $200 million so far.

Taylor Swift on stage flexing bicep

The Eras Tour is just one of Swift’s many successes in 2023. In addition to recently being named Time ’s Person of the Year, and the re-recording of her decade-old 1989 being the best-selling album of the year, she has broken multiple world records.

In June, she was awarded the record for the most simultaneous albums on the US Billboard 200 for a living artist, with 10 of her albums charting at the same time.

She then broke several more records in July :

  • Most US No.1 albums by a female artist – 12
  • Most US singles chart entries (female) – 212
  • Most Top 10 debuts on the US Hot 100 (female) – 31
  • Most simultaneous new entries on the Hot 100 (female) – 26
  • Most cumulative weeks at No.1 on US albums charts (solo female) – 63

And in August, she made history with the most monthly listeners on Spotify (female) , becoming the first female artist to amass 100 million.

With plans to release more music and continue on her record-breaking tour, we’ve no doubt that Taylor Swift will achieve many more Guinness World Records titles in 2024!

Will Taylor Swift Add ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ To The Eras Tour? Here’s What We Know.

Fans think Taylor Swift is dropping hints that she might be expanding her already 10-album-spanning “Eras Tour” setlist to include her latest release, “The Tortured Poets Department,” ahead of the tour’s upcoming European leg in May.

Swift teased fans in a YouTube Short video Thursday night that it’s only a “fortnight until Paris”—a nod to both her return to the Eras Tour in Paris on May 9, and “Fortnight,” the lead single from “The Tortured Poets Department” featuring Post Malone.

In typical Swiftie fashion , fans quickly began decoding the video for possible clues about Swift’s upcoming shows, and some have pointed to what looks like a “TTPD” logo attached to a railing Swift leans on while singing, taking this as a hint that her new album could have its own “era” on tour.

Other Swifties noted the billionaire pop star can be seen wearing shoes strikingly similar to those she wears in the “Fortnight” music video, while some pointed out the hats and canes her backup dancers are using have not yet been seen at Eras Tour shows, a possible hint at new songs and choreography.

Swift fan accounts shared screenshots of an Instagram post from musical director David Cook who appeared to tease live performances of “The Tortured Poets Department” songs, though it has since been removed from his caption .

Swift’s collaborator on new song “Florida!!!,” Florence Welch, hinted at possibly joining Swift for an Eras Tour performance to British Vogue , stating: “If I was gonna do it, it would be a surprise.”

What We Don’t Know

What alterations Swift might make to the Eras Tour setlist to fit in “The Tortured Poets Department.” The tour has been noted for its length: Swift performs 45 songs over the course of more than three hours, leading fans to speculate whether she may need to make cuts to fit in her latest release. The Eras Tour has been billed as a celebration of Swift’s entire musical catalogue and each album, or “era,” has its own dedicated part of the setlist, with each ranging from one to seven songs. “Midnights,” her latest album release prior to “The Tortured Poets Department,” has closed out the setlist since the start of the tour and has had the longest setlist of any era.

Surprising Fact

The Eras Tour is already the highest-grossing tour of all time, but it’s only a little more than halfway over. Swift has performed 83 shows to date, but she still has 69 left, most of which are in Europe. She’ll be joined by Paramore as her European leg opening act, while Gracie Abrams will join her for her final North American leg . Swift will return to the United States, but only for three cities: She’ll perform in Miami for three shows in October, followed by an additional three shows each in New Orleans and Indianapolis. She will wrap up the North American leg, and the tour as a whole, with six shows in Toronto in November and three shows in Vancouver in December.

$1.04 billion. That’s how much the Eras Tour grossed across 60 shows between March 17 and Nov. 11, 2023, according to Pollstar estimates , making it the highest-grossing tour of all time.

“The Tortured Poets Department” dropped April 19 to record-shattering sales and streaming numbers. The 16-track album, and its 15-track counterpart subtitled “The Anthology” surprise-released last Friday, has already been streamed more than 1 billion times on Spotify as of Wednesday. That makes it the most-streamed album in one week in the streaming platform’s history. It previously earned the biggest single-day Spotify streams for an album with more than 300 million streams, shattering her own record with “ Midnights ” by more than 100 million. The album has sold more than 700,000 vinyl copies as of Tuesday, shattering her own record for the biggest vinyl sales week. Swift is on track to nab her biggest debut for an album on the Billboard charts yet: Billboard reported the album earned a massive 2.5 million album equivalent units in its first six days, consisting of 1.85 million in sales and the rest via streaming.

Taylor Swift hints at Eras Tour setlist changes after ‘TTPD’ album release

F ans theorize that Taylor Swift is changing her Eras Tour setlist to include songs from her new album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”

Swift shared a black-and-white video collage of her practicing for the upcoming leg of her tour and added her new single, “Fortnight,” in the background to YouTube Shorts on Thursday.

The Grammy winner, 34, included several snippets of her wearing different athleisure outfits while holding a microphone, singing and dancing on different parts of the stage.

The “Cruel Summer” songstress even featured a snap of her playing her acoustic guitar and sitting at her signature mossy piano.

However, some eagle-eyed fans noticed a few differences in some of the clips from what she’s done in her past shows –– such as her background dancers wearing black top hats and canes.

Swift also appeared to be leaning on a silver pole that seemed to have a white “TTPD” sign hanging on the side of it. Fans additionally pointed out her white guitar and matching microphone.

“A fortnight til Paris đŸ€ Brought to you by YouTube Shorts #ForAFortnightChallenge,” she captioned the video on Thursday.

Swift will resume her tour in Paris in two weeks –– aka a fortnight –– on May 9.

Several fans flooded the comments pointing out the changes and wrote about how convinced they are she’ll be swapping some songs for “TTPD” hits.

“Won’t be surprised if she actually does change the setlist a little bit,” one user wrote.

“she’s going to add TTPD songs to the setlist!!” another person commented.

“SHE’S PROB GONNA ADD TTPD!!!!!” someone exclaimed.

“TTPD on the setlist😭I will pass out,” another person added.

Swift has not released the setlist for her upcoming shows and she did not share the setlist before she kicked off the tour in Arizona in March 2023.

The “Shake it Off” songstress previously sang 44 songs on every show and swapped out two songs each concert that were acoustic “surprise songs” not included in the same setlist.

After Paris, Swift will hit several European countries, including Sweden, Spain and Portugal, before wrapping up in London in August.
