It's safe to say that Taylor Swift 's Eras Tour has well and truly surpassed every single expectation we had. The Eras Tour officially opened its doors in Glendale, Arizona on March 17th where Taylor performed songs from all 10 of her albums.

On May 9th in Paris, France, Taylor changed the entire Eras Tour setlist as fans know it. Popular songs have now been removed and the eras section order has been moved around.

Here's all the songs in Taylor's Eras Tour setlist, including every song featured in the show, how many songs she plays, every single surprise song and all the 'The Tortured Poets Department' tracks that have been added to the setlist.

The average Taylor Swift concert used to be around 2 hours long but The Eras Tour is a whole different beast... The concert is a whopping 3 hours and 15 minutes long, and Taylor performs a huge 45 tracks within that timeframe.

Not all the tracks are performed in full – some are shortened versions. There's also a couple of additional little interludes that pop up throughout the show.

For context, on the Rep tour, Taylor performed 19 tracks in total, including several mashups that featured some of her older songs. For The 1989 World Tour, she performed 18 songs, while 17 songs were performed on The Red Tour and the Speak Now World Tour.

Taylor has 'reset' the surprise song list, which means anyone attending a show in 2024 can anticipate hearing a song she's already performed. She previously stated that she will only play each surprise song once during the tour, unless she messes one up.

There's also no rules for Taylor repeating songs from Midnights as surprise songs, which means fans may get to hear the likes of 'You're On Your Own Kid' and 'Snow on the Beach' again at some point in the future.

We'll update this article with every Surprise Acoustic Song – and every surprise song that she will play again – after every show.

Will Taylor Swift change the Eras Tour setlist to include The Tortured Poets Department?

Will Taylor Swift change the Eras Tour setlist?

Aside from a few song changes, the Eras Tour setlist remained the same throughout the 2023 shows and every show up until the release of 'The Tortured Poets Department'. During the first Paris show in May 2024, Taylor changed the order of the setlist, removed six songs and added seven new ones from 'TTPD'.

Fans attending the European shows might end up hearing Taylor perform ' Castles Crumbling ' with Hayley Williams at some point, as Paramore will be supporting her throughout those tour dates. Unlike Phoebe Bridgers and HAIM, who joined Taylor on stage to perform 'Nothing New' and 'No Body, No Crime' respectively on the nights they were support acts, a 'Castles Crumbling' duet might be more likely to appear as a surprise song.

Taylor will finish her European leg in London in August 2024, before returning to North America in November 2024. It's possible that she may make more changes to the final leg of the show.

What are Taylor's most performed songs on tour?

Before she embarked on The Eras Tour, Taylor’s top 3 most performed songs are ‘Love Story’ (491 times), ‘Our Song’ (404 times) and ‘You Belong With Me’ (381 times).

Of course, almost all of Taylor’s most performed songs are from her first two albums. As the list goes on, the 'Speak Now' bops, 'Red' bangers and '1989' hits start to weave their way in.

If you’re wondering what Taylor’s most played songs from her first five albums are, here’s a break down:

  • Taylor Swift : ‘Our Song’, ‘Tim McGraw’ and ‘Picture To Burn’
  • Fearless: ‘Love Story’, ‘You Belong With Me’ and ‘Fifteen’
  • Speak Now : ‘Sparks Fly’, ‘Mean’ and ‘Mine’
  • Red : ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’, ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ and ‘Red’
  • 1989 : ‘Shake It Off’, ‘Blank Space’ and ‘Out of the Woods’

Taylor has only had the chance to perform songs from Reputation on the Reputation Stadium Tour so far, but ‘Ready For It?’, ‘Delicate’ and ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ take the top spots when it comes to live performances of the Rep tracks.

Due to the cancellation of Lover Fest, Taylor hasn’t been able to perform Lover on a tour setting. Folklore, Evermore and Midnights will also be making their tour debut on the Eras Tour.

Taylor Swift: Which Eras Tour Songs Didn’t Make Concert Film & Which Surprise Songs Got In

Every show on the Eras Tour involves an acoustic set where Swift performs at least two songs custom to that night’s show. At first, she wouldn’t allow herself repeats unless she messed up the lyrics to a song, but now, she has done away with that rule and gotten more creative by combining songs in mashups and playing up to four in a segment. The first song or three take place on guitar, and then she shifts to piano for the second half before diving beneath the stage to resume the setlist – which has since contracted and expanded to include a  Tortured Poets Department  era and set .

Below you’ll find Taylor Swift’s surprise songs that she has played most recently in Europe as well as a record of all those she has played on the entire tour so far.

eras tour special songs

Taylor Swift made a point of telling fans at the opening night of her triumphant Eras tour that at each stop, she plans to perform two “surprise” songs and hopes to never repeat the selections throughout the 52-date run.

True to her word, Swift inserted a different pair of acoustic tunes – No. 36 and No. 37 in  her exhaustive 44-song set  – into the set lists of her inaugural shows in Glendale, Arizona.

Given the scope of her catalog, we expect nothing but unique offerings each night of her Eras spectacle and take seriously our duty to report her choices after every show. Yes, through its five-night conclusion in Los Angeles in August.

Are you ready for it?

The updated list of all Taylor Swift's surprise songs on her Eras tour:

At each show, the singer has shown love to her entire discography and some cult classics — or what she defines as “surprise songs.” No two Eras Tour shows are the same, as she changes up which two surprise tracks she’ll sing at each stop. Luckily, Swifties have shared tons of videos capturing these performances online.

During the tour’s opening night on Mar. 17, 2023 in Arizona, Swift told the crowd her setlist idea. “The plan, the goal, would be to play different songs every single night and never repeat one,” she said, adding these tracks would be performed during her acoustic set . With a lighthearted smile, she then gave a quick caveat. “Unless I mess it up so badly that I have to do it over again in another city.”

The whole year, Swift kept true to her promise and switched up the 36th and 37th songs with new surprise tracks. She occasionally repeated these performances due to minor hiccups, because ~Errors Tour.~ But these live renditions were iconic, nonetheless.

During her Nov. 26, 2023 show in São Paulo, Brazil, Swift made a major announcement about her surprise songs for 2024. “What I’ve decided is that in 2024, when we go back out on tour, I’m just going to open back up all the songs for surprise songs ,” Swift said. “I feel like for one year we’ve really gotten through a lot of songs. So I’m just going to make all the songs fair game.”

The Edinburgh, SCT Surprise Songs

In Scotland, Swift kicked off her acoustic set with a mash-up of “ Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve” and “I Know Places .”

She then took to her piano for a rendition of “ ‘Tis the Damn Season” combined with “Daylight .”

Swift really kicked things into high gear with a mash-up of “The Bolter” and “Getaway Car. ”

It was her piano set that really surprised Swifties, though. She sang a combination of “All of the Girls You Loved Before” and “Crazier .” Swift wrote “Crazier” in 2009 for The Hannah Montana movie, and in the 15 years since, she had never once performed it live, so this unexpected live debut was a huge treat.

The Lyon, FR Eras Tour Surprise Songs

Swift took her French fans on a whole journey by combining “The Prophecy” with “Long Story Short” for her first acoustic surprise.

She then repeated a particularly memorable mash-up she’s done before: “Fifteen” and “You’re On Your Own, Kid.”

And closed out her surprise song set with a mash-up of “Long Live” and “You’re On Your Own, Kid .”

The Stockholm, SWE Eras Tour Surprise Songs

Swift didn’t leave the romantic vibes in Paris. She kicked off her Stockholm shows by surprising the crowd with a lovey-dovey mashup of “I Think He Knows” and “Gorgeous .”

And she also treated the audience to the live debut of her Tortured Poets song “Peter .”

Another Tortured Poets live debut: Swift sang the fan-fave “Guilty As Sin?” live for the first time .

Afterwards, Swift performed her longest mashup yet, combining “Say Don’t Go,” “Welcome to New York,” and “Clean .”

She kept this new three-song mashup trend going in honor of producer Max Martin attending the final Stockholm concert. She sang three songs Martin produced for her: “Message in a Bottle,” “How You Get the Girl,” and “New Romantics .”

She wrapped up her time in Sweden with one last Tortured Poets live debut: “ How Did It End? ”

The Paris, FR Eras Tour Surprise Songs

After Swift returned to the Eras Tour from her two-month break, the show changed a lot to incorporate her new album The Tortured Poets Department . But she did keep her surprise songs gimmick. As fans guessed, she performed her Midnight bonus track “Paris” as a tribute to the city.

And to honor her new album, Swift’s second surprise song was the heartbreaking ballad “loml .”

Swift vented about some exes during her second night in Paris. First, she mashed up her 1989 songs "Is It Over Now?" and "Out of the Woods ," both of which are speculated to be about Harry Styles .

Then, she delivered the live debut of "My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys" from Tortured Poets Department , thought to be inspired by her relationship with Matty Healy.

For her guitar song, Swift sang the Fearless throwback " Hey Stephen ."

She followed that up with " Maroon ," marking the fifth time it’s been a surprise song.

Swift delivered one of her most joyful surprise song sets for her 87th Eras Tour show, given that her boyfriend Travis Kelce was in the audience and 87 is his jersey number. She delivered a mashup of "The Alchemy" and "Treacherous" as a tribute to Kelce .

She capped off her time in Paris by with a full-circle moment, reprising the first surprise song she sang in the city and combining it with "Begin Again ."

The Singapore Eras Tour Surprise Songs

Sydney wasn’t the only stop to be blessed with some surprise mashups. Swift opened her Singapore shows with a mashup of “Mine” and “Starlight .”

At the piano, she combined her songs “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” and “Dress .”

Swift had a lot of stories to tell on her second night in Singapore. She mashed up “Long Story Short” with “The Story of Us .”

She concluded with one of her most emotional mashups yet: “Clean” x “Evermore .”

For her guitar mashup, Swift combined “Foolish One” with “Tell Me Why .”

She got extra romantic for her second surprise mashup — marrying “This Love” with “Call It What You Want .”

Swift’s first mashup on March 7 took the whole crowd by surprise. After launching into fan-favorite “Death by a Thousand Cuts,” she combined the song with her lesser-known Sugarland feature “Babe .”

Next, Swift had a message for her younger self. She got super nostalgic for her adolescence, combining “Fifteen” with “You’re on Your Own, Kid .”

Swift took a golden opportunity to mash up her songs “Sparks Fly” and “Gold Rush .”

She also merged her songs “False God” and “Slut! ”

For her final show before a long hiatus, Swift threw it all the way back her country roots by combining “Tim McGraw” and “Cowboy Like Me .”

She then got contemplative with a mashup of “Mirrorball” and “Epiphany .”

The Sydney, AUS Eras Tour Surprise Songs

February 23

For Swift’s first Eras Tour performance in Sydney, she played “ How You Get The Girl ” on guitar. Then, Sabrina Carpenter (who’s been opening for Swift on tour) came on stage to sing a mashup of “White Horse” and “Coney Island” with her.

February 24

Sydney truly won in the surprise songs department. On her second night, Swift whipped out her guitar to perform a mix of two older tracks : “Should’ve Said No” from her self-titled debut, and “You’re Not Sorry” on Fearless . Later that night, she retired behind the piano and sang a mashup of Reputation’ s “New Year’s Day” and “Peace” from Folklore .

February 25

The Sydney mashups continued. Swift first started with a 1989 (both original and Taylor’s Version ) blend of “Is It Over Now” and “I Wish You Would.” She then darkened the setlist, performing a mix of Speak Now’ s “Haunted” and “Exile” off Folklore .

February 26

For her final night in Sydney, Swift fully leaned into her mashup era with ease. Her first blend began with “Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve” from Midnights and “Ivy” from Evermore , which felt on par with her green-hued dress. Later that night, she brought out her traditional piano and performed Fearless’ “Forever & Always” and Maroon from Midnights .

The Melbourne, AUS Eras Tour Surprise Songs

February 16.

Swift kicked off her Melbourne surprise set with her hit single, “Red .”

The first song may have been super well-known, but Swift went obscure for her second pick. After telling the crowd she’s never performed this track live before , Swift launched into her Midnights bonus track “You’re Losing Me .”

February 17

For Melbourne night two, Swift sang a mashup of songs from three different eras — Fearless , Reputation , and Folklore . She surprised crowds by combining “Getaway Car,” “August,” and “The Other Side Of The Door” on guitar.

Switching over to piano, Swift sang, “ This Is Me Trying .” She previously performed the track as a surprise song during one of her Arizona shows, but played it on guitar at the time.

February 18

Keeping with the trend of performing mashups, Swift sang a combination of “Come Back... Be Here and “Daylight” on guitar. She then performed “ Teardrops on My Guitar ” on piano.

The Tokyo, JPN Eras Tour Surprise Songs

At long last, Swift’s Eras Tour returned in 2024 with her Tokyo shows. Fittingly, her first surprise song was “ Dear Reader, ” a nod to her recently announced 11th studio album The Tortured Poets Department .

Swift also performed “Holy Ground” for the Tokyo crowd.

Swift included a truly deep cut in her Feb. 8 show. She performed her Hunger Games single “Eyes Open” live for the first time ever .

She kept the niche love going by singing the vault track “Electric Touch” live for the first time.

For Night 3 in Tokyo, Swift sang “Superman” for her guitar section.

And after she sat down at the piano, Swift threw it all the way back to one of the first songs she’d ever written: “ The Outside .”

February 10

She closed out her Tokyo performances with the Fearless track “Come In With the Rain .”

And finally, the last song she played before jetting off to watch her boyfriend play in the Super Bowl was “ You’re On Your Own, Kid .” Swifties speculated that she chose this song as an ode to Travis Kelce , considering they met when Kelce tried to give her a friendship bracelet (an Eras staple inspired by a line in that song).

The São Paulo, BRA Eras Tour Surprise Songs

November 24.

For her first night in São Paulo, Swift performed her 1989 (Taylor’s Version) vault track “Now That We Don’t Talk” live for the first time .

She then took to her piano to sing “Innocent .”

November 25

She also gifted her Brazilian fans with a live performance of “Safe & Sound ,” the song she wrote for The Hunger Games .

Swift then performed “Untouchable .”

November 26

The third night of São Paulo was bittersweet for Swifties, many of whom were theorizing that Swift may use her final 2023 concert to announce Reputation (Taylor’s Version) . But ultimately, that long-awaited “I Did Something Bad” surprise song didn’t come. Instead, Swift live-debuted her recently released vault track “Say Don’t Go .”

Her final surprise song of the year was “ It’s Time to Go .”

Swift also gave the crowd a major update about her future surprise songs for 2024. She told the crowd that she would be repeating surprise songs for the next leg of her tour, making a completely blank slate to choose any song she wanted.

The Rio De Janeiro, BRA Eras Tour Surprise Songs

November 17.

On her first night in Rio de Janeiro, Swift sang “Stay Beautiful” for the crowd.

She also treated them to the live debut of “Suburban Legends .”

November 19

After having to cancel her Saturday concert due to extreme temperatures, Swift returned to the stage on Sunday and surprised the audience with “ Dancing With Our Hands Tied .”

Then, she went to the piano to sing “ Bigger Than the Whole Sky .”

November 20

For her final night in Rio de Janeiro, Swift performed an acoustic version of her single “Me! ”

But the real conversation starter was Swift’s second surprise song. She took to the piano to sing “So It Goes... ,” which fans were quick to point out was one of the two Reputation tracks she had not yet performed on the tour. To drive the point home even more, Swift winked during the performance .

Swifties took the “So It Goes...” choice as an indication that she is about to announce Reputation (Taylor’s Version) , a project she’s been subtly teasing for a while now . The theory is that whenever Swift finally performs her last Rep song, “I Did Something Bad,” she’ll use that to announce when her re-release of the album will drop.

The Buenos Aries, ARG Eras Tour Surprise Songs

After more than two months away from the Eras stage, Swift returned with her Red (Taylor’s Version) vault track “ The Very First Night .”

She also performed her Midnights song “ Labyrinth .”

These two song choices were incredibly interesting, given it was Swift’s first performance since she began dating her new boyfriend, Travis Kelce . Fans were quick to point out how both songs were about the romantic beginnings of a new relationship , with “The Very First Night” in particular having the lyric, “I was riding in the car when we both fell.” Swift and Kelce memorably drove off together after their first public appearance at one of Kelce’s games.

November 11

For the first time in the Eras Tour, Swift performed a special mashup for one of her surprise songs. She combined her newly released vault track “ Is It Over Now?” with “Out of the Woods .”

It was her second surprise song that really raised eyebrows. Swift sang her Reputation track “End Game ,” which carried extra meaning since her boyfriend Travis Kelce was in attendance . The song had become a top pick for Swifties when making romantic edits of Swift and Kelce, given the sports references in its lyrics and “big reputation” chant .

November 12

To close out her Buenos Aries dates, Swift surprised the crowd with “ Better Than Revenge .”

She then sang “Slut! ,” a vault track off her newly released 1989 (Taylor’s Version) .

The Mexico City, MX Eras Tour Surprise Songs

For her first international stop on the Eras Tour, Swift performed an acoustic version of “ I Forgot That You Existed .”

She also sat at her piano to perform a rendition of “Sweet Nothing .”

She gave the Mexico City crowd a serious throwback when she sang “Tell Me Why .”

Her second surprise song was “ Snow on the Beach .”

Swift made sure to give the fans what they wanted on her third night in Mexico City. She introduced her performance of “Cornelia Street ” by noting it was a song she’d been hearing a lot of requests for throughout her tour.

She then sang "You're on Your Own, Kid ," making it the first surprise song to get three performances on the Eras Tour.

The “You’re on Your Own, Kid” record didn’t last long, though. On her final night in Mexico City, Swift performed “Maroon” for the third time .

She also sang her Lover ballad “ Afterglow .”

The Los Angeles, CA Eras Tour Surprise Songs

For the first show in the final city of the U.S. leg of her tour, Swift performed her newly released Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) vault track “ I Can See You .”

She also delivered her second Eras Tour performance of " Maroon ."

Another repeat — Swift dusted off "Our Song " for a second time after initially performing it at one of the tour’s first shows in Las Vegas.

She followed that up with " You Are in Love ."

For her third night in L.A., Swift sang her fan-favorite Lover track " Death by a Thousand Cuts ."

And had the whole crowd in their feelings during " You're on Your Own, Kid ."

The greatness continued on her fourth night in L.A. There, she performed “Dress” from Reputation . However, instead of incorporating the track’s original synths, she stripped it down to an acoustic version.

She continued the mellow vibes with her Folklore gem, “ Exile .”

Swift continued her Reputation streak on her fifth L.A. stop. She performed “King Of My Heart ” to an emotional crowd, who belted the lyrics as passionately as Swift did.

Afterward, she took a trip down 1989 with “I Know Places.” Similar to “Dress” from the night before, she swapped the original tune’s synth-y production for a guitar solo.

For Swifties, this was certainly the night *not* to miss. During her final night in the City of Angels, Swift announced her re-recording of 1989 would release on Oct. 27. She also performed some surprises.

To celebrate 1989 (Taylor’s Version) , she sang “New Romantics” from the 9-year-old album.

She then turned her attention back to Reputation and performed “New Year’s Day .”

She then performed her newly released vault track " When Emma Falls in Love " live for the first time. Although the song was new, fans had already put together theories it may be about Emma Stone .

Since there was no July 9 tour date, Swift had to perform "Last Kiss " a day early.

She closed out her Kansas City weekend with a surprise performance of "Dorothea ."

The Cincinnati, OH Eras Tour Surprise Songs

Her first surprise song for Cincinnati was “ I'm Only Me When I'm with You .”

She followed that up with the title track of her ninth studio album, “ Evermore .”

Swift once again welcomed her frequent collaborator Aaron Dessner to the stage to perform a fan-favorite cut, “ Ivy .”

She also sang “ Call It What You Want .”

And, in the biggest surprise of all for the Cincinnati crowd, Swift added a third surprise song for the first time in her Eras Tour. Because opener Gracie Abrams couldn’t perform her opening set due to weather conditions, Swift brought her on stage so she could perform her song “ I Miss You, I’m Sorry ” alongside her.

The Minneapolis, MN Eras Tour Surprise Songs

For her Minneapolis shows, Swift started things off with “ Paper Rings .”

She kept the romantic vibes going with “ If This Was a Movie .”

Swift had a message for her fans before performing “Dear John .” She urged them to not “feel the need to defend me on the internet against someone you think I might have written a song about 14 billion years ago.” Of course, this was likely referencing the increased hate John Mayer received online ahead of the release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) .

The vibes were much brighter after that, as Swift shifted into singing “Daylight .”

The Pittsburgh, PA Eras Tour Surprise Songs

Swift kicked off her Pittsburgh shows by playing “Mr. Perfectly Fine .”

Every NYC Swiftie who trekked over to East Rutherford was expecting the same surprise song all weekend, and Swift finally delivered it on the final night: “ Welcome to New York .”

Every surprise song Taylor Swift has performed on the ‘Eras Tour’ so far

During every “Eras Tour” concert, there comes a time that audiences are always waiting for: surprise-song o’clock.

This is when Taylor Swift sits down with just a guitar and a piano to play acoustic versions of two songs — sometimes mashups, sometimes not — that change between each show. And fans don’t know what songs she’s chosen that night until the surprise-song set starts.

Swift's June 14 show in Liverpool saw a selection that some fans "didn't even know was an option."

For the first surprise song of the night, Swift played a mashup of Rihanna's "This Is What You Came For" with her 2020 track "Gold Rush."

While Swift has been known to sing covers on previous tours, the singer helped write "This Is What You Came For" alongside her boyfriend at the time, DJ Calvin Harris. The song was released in 2016 and performed by Harris and Rihanna.

Her involvement was initially kept a secret, and the writing credit went to her pseudonym Nils Sjöberg.

In a 2020 conversation published by Rolling Stone, Swift confirmed her pseudonym while speaking with Paul McCartney, who has notably written under the names Bernard Webb and Fireman.

"I wrote under the name Nils Sjöberg because those are two of the most popular names of Swedish males," Swift said. "I wrote this song called 'This Is What You Came For' that Rihanna ended up singing. And nobody knew for a while."

Swift kicked off the European leg of her “Eras Tour” May 9 in Paris , fresh on the heels of releasing her 11th album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” on April 29. While the setlist saw some significant changes — including the addition of a new era — Swift upheld her tradition of performing surprise songs.

Last year, Swift said she’d aim not to repeat surprise songs during the “Eras Tour,” leaving fans to track each night’s performances like detectives, watching their favorite songs get picked off in the lead up to their own concert date.

But after Swift announced that she “reset” the eligibility of all songs for 2024 and introduced twists, it’s impossible to predict what she’ll do next.

Intrepid Swifties keeping record of all the songs Swift has performed have noted that, while there are several songs that have been played multiple times, there are some songs that the singer has not at all. Those include:

  • "Mary's Song"
  • "A Perfectly Good Heart"
  • "Superstar"
  • "We Were Happy"
  • "That's When"
  • "Don't You"
  • "Bye Bye Baby"

Taylor Swift is giving her fans a special treat by performing surprise songs on every stop of her 2023 Eras Tour .

The Grammy winner revealed her master plan on opening night at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., on March 17.

“The plan, the goal, would be to play different songs every single night and never repeat one,” she told concertgoers at the time.

“So that when you heard one on this tour, you would know it’s the only time that I was going to play it in the acoustic set, unless — caveat — unless I mess it up so badly that I have to do it over again in some other city.”

However, the following month, during a stop in Tampa, Fla., Swift shared with her fans that she decided to shift gears and repeat a few songs.

“Now I’m like, ‘There are so many songs I want to do more than once,'” she admitted.

“So, I’m making a little caveat to the rule, which is that if [a song] is on ‘Midnights,’ I can do it however many times I want, because ‘Midnights’ is the most accurate picture of my life to date.”

In September 2022, Page Six broke the news that the music superstar was headed on a massive stadium tour  for the summer of 2023.

Swift herself then confirmed the announcement , sharing on Instagram that the tour would be like “a journey through the musical eras of [her] career (past and present!).”

Taylor Swift

Even on one of the busiest weekends of the summer, and with competition from two hometown playoff-contender sports clubs, Saturday night (July 1) belonged to Taylor Swift . The Queen City was transformed into the pop queen’s city — SwiftCinnati if you will — during the second night of Swift’s home stand at Cincinnati’s Paycor Stadium, home of the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals.

But for one evening, all thoughts of helmets and pads was shunted in favor of glittery minidresses and custom shirts, a sea of colorful homemade bracelets and a trail of orphaned sequins littering the ground all over downtown. Swift appeared to have a steep hill to climb considering that the first-place Cincinnati Reds had moved Friday night’s game up to avoid a direct clash with the pop icon; the Reds played an afternoon game on Saturday to avoid a second conflict, but Swifties (and traffic cops) also battled hordes of fans attending first-place FC Cincinnati’s soccer match just a few blocks away.

Friday night’s first gig managed to avoid the predicted thunderstorms, but nearly four months into the epic Eras tour, some things remain a bit unpredictable. Like, for example, the trap door on the floor that failed to open on the first night, forcing Swift to do a quick pivot and sprint down the lengthy stage thrust to a hidden exit at the back of the set for a scheduled outfit change.

The weather was iffy again on Saturday night, but Swift packed Paycor once more, with thousands of additional fans filling the city’s streets and downtown’s Fountain Square for a massive Tay-Gate celebration in the hours before the show. Alas, due to expected bad weather, the start time was moved up an hour , which meant the nixing of opener Gracie Abrams’ planned set. That bad news, however, turned into the very best news when it resulted in Swift inviting Abrams up during the surprise songs acoustic set, which, for the first time, included three previously unplayed tracks.

Here are the 7 best moments from night two of Taylor’s Eras Tour in Cincinnati. (The tour resumes next weekend in Kansas City with two nights — July 7-8 — at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.)

Three Surprise Songs

A threat of severe weather pushed the show start time up an hour, which meant that MUNA got to play her set, but Gracie Abrams was forced to sit night two out. Taylor more than made up for it during the evening’s signature surprise song set, which was bumped up to three selections for the first time. It kicked off with Cincinnati native and frequent collaborator Aaron Dessner of The National strumming alongside the singer on the Evermore track “Ivy.” It got even better, though, when Swift invited Abrams out for a make-good run through Gracie’s song “I Miss You, I’m Sorry” from her Minor album, a sweet gesture to the opener who didn’t get her time to shine. The first-ever third surprise song was “Call It What You Want” from Tay’s Reputation album performed on upright piano. Even better, the rain held off all night.

A Queen City Welcome

Cincinnati lived up to its royal reputation by rolling out the red carpet for its weekend pop queen. From jokey highway signs that read “Avoid a Cruel Summer: Buckle Up,” to parking meter messages welcoming Swifties to town and bars with custom cocktails (Lavender Haze, Saturn and Back, Lemon Drops on My Guitar, Midnight Rain shots) everywhere you looked it was all about Taylor. Even a rowdy group of drunk Reds baseball fans wobbling out of the day game toward the Tay-Gate party near the stadium mixed-and-matched their red baseball jerseys with pink cowboy hats as they shouted encouragement to the thousands of fans streaming toward Paycor Stadium.

Tay Dad Shirts Galore

Rule number one of Swift club is you have to come prepared. Especially if you’re a Tay Dad. Some of the best custom shirts we saw on night two included: “I was under the impression there was going to be a football game,” “Dad Reputation,” “It’s Me, I’m the Husband It’s Me,” “Hi, I’m Dad, I’m the Problem It’s Me,” “Where’s the Scarf, Jake?” and the cutest one, a shirt with the words “Proud Swiftie Dad — 13 Years of Loving Taylor,” complete with pics of dad and daughter at earlier shows.

Friendship Is Forever

One of the signatures of the Eras era is the ubiquitous throwback friendship bracelets fans are making, trading and gifting to each other. The trend, inspired by the lyrics from the Midnights song “You’re On Your Own, Kid” (“Everything you lose is a step you take/ So make the friendship bracelets/ Take the moment and taste it”), was in overdrive on night two. Not only did stacks of the colorful, blocky bracelets adorn nearly every fans’ wrist, but the Paycor ushers, ticket takers and concessionaires all got in on the action as well, as did the body armor-wearing, assault rifle-toting SWAT team members posted up on their military Humvee outside the venue.

Not-So-Cruel-Summer

With the exception of a few stray drops here and there, the expected storm never materialized during the more-than-three-hour set. In fact, during the second song, “Cruel Summer,” the sun peeked out through the oppressively hot, cloudy sky for a moment as Swift flipped her hair and smiled silently at the crowd for a good two minutes as she looked around and thanked them for spoiling her with their attention and devotion. Before “Lover,” Swift joked about the updated set time, lamenting that “weather is still somehow out of my control… but I’m working on it.” And, then, as if on cue, a single red heart-shaped balloon floated up from the crowd on the floor.

Taylor Van Halen?

Eagle-eyed fans likely spotted a bit of rock royalty in the house during the Reputation track “Don’t Blame Me.” No, it wasn’t only The Nationals’ Aaron Dessner, but a very special guitar busted out by Taylor’s longtime lead guitarist, Paul Sidoti. The six-stinger who has been by Swift’s side since 2007 is a huge Eddie Van Halen fan and he played his solo on a replica of EVH’s signature red, white and black striped “Frankenstrat” guitar, which elicited an especially lusty whoop from a nearby father wearing a “Dad Reputation” shirt.

Good 'Karma'

One look at the outrageous prices on resale sites is evidence enough that the Eras Tour is the hottest ticket this summer. Which is why it was no surprise that thousands of Swifties who couldn’t get inside Paycor set up blankets, chairs and viewing spots all around the stadium to at least hear the show from afar. But in a sweet gesture, during the epic show’s last song, “Karma,” Taylor’s team built up some serious reserves of the latter by opening the barriers outside the venue, resulting in hundreds of superfans rushing up to the gates to get their first, last glimpse of the singer during the night’s fireworks-enhanced finale.

Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” concert film premiered in October to an enthusiastic crowd of celebrities, fans and of course Taylor’s team, with the star of the film in attendance. As one of the first to see the film, TheWrap got the scoop on which songs from the wildly popular tour made the film, and which songs were cut.

After making speeches in multiple auditoriums for separate audiences, Swift, clad in a sky blue floral-patterned dress (probably in theme for “1989 (Taylor’s Version) with her hair pinned up like the signature bob she had when that album first came out), sat back to enjoy the film’s premiere in one of the IMAX screening rooms with her background vocalists and publicist Tree Paine.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour to end this December, singer announces

eras tour special songs

Sorry Swifties,  Taylor Swift  will not extend her record-breaking, behemoth  Eras Tour  to 2025.

"This is the very first time I’ve ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is going to end in December," the singer said sentimentally during her "All Too Well" speech before the 10-minute song.

"This tour has really become my entire life, it's taken over everything, like I think I once had hobbies," she joked in her bedazzled red and black jacket. "All I do when I'm not on stage is sit at home and try to think of clever acoustic song mashups and think about what you might want to hear."

Her acoustic section has become a fan-favorite, unique to every city. The singer began mashing up songs in 2024. Swift still has about  30 songs in her vast discography left to perform.

"You have done so much to be with us," she continued. "You've made plans so far in advance. You planned what you were going to wear. You memorized lyrics. You got yourself here. You figured out parking. You figured out transportation, and I want spend the 100th show just thinking about that and living in that moment and being here with you, and just know I appreciate every single ounce of effort that you put in to be with us when this show reaches triple digits in shows. So thank you!"

Taylor Swift's journey: Eras Tour 'spans 18 years of music'

In November 2022, Taylor Swift announced her magnum opus  on social media , "I’m enchanted to announce my next tour: Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present!) The first leg of the tour will be in stadiums across the US, with international dates to be announced as soon as we can!"

The original post only showed 27 concerts over the course of a year. The demand quickly escalated that number to  66 shows for year one  and 86 for year two in 22 countries (U.S., Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Japan, Australia, Singapore, France, Sweden, Portugal, Spain, Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Poland, Austria and Canada).

With  album announcements , music video reveals, special guests appearances and a  whole new "Tortured Poets" set  unveiled in Paris, France, the tour has continued to evolve and impress. Swift has broken attendance records for many stadiums across the world and countries have welcomed the singer in innovative ways. A hidden language of Swift-ese has developed in the form of friendship bracelets, custom concert chants ("1, 2, 3 let's go b****" and "Where you going Taylor?") and unforgettable dance moves. Tens of thousands of fans log on to watch livestreams every concert night anticipating Swift's outfits and  custom mashups  of songs not included in the massive  46-song set list .

A year of the Eras Tour: A look back at Taylor Swift's record-breaking show

Swift's concert movie  bypassed production studios as the singer worked directly with AMC as a distributor bringing fans dancing and singing in the aisles. The movie is available to  watch on Disney+ .

No word on if she will release a second movie with the newly scrambled show and additional set.

Swift is only a third of the way through her 51 European stops. In the fall, she will come back to North America, heading to Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis in October and November and then Canada. Her last show for 2024 is on Dec. 8 in Vancouver, British Columbia.

It's the end of an era: Taylor Swift says Eras Tour will end in December

It's the end of an Era(s Tour).

Taylor Swift announced Thursday night during her Eras Tour show in Liverpool, England, that her behemoth concert tour will officially end its unprecedented run in December, presumably after her Dec. 6-8 shows at the BC Palace in Vancouver, British Columbia.

"This is the very first time I've ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is gonna end in December. Like, that's it," Swift said in a speech onstage during the "Red" set.

"That feels like so far away from now, but then again, it feels like we just played our first show on this tour because you have made this so much fun for us that we wanted to do 100 shows, 150-something shows that we have on the whole tour," she continued.

Swift said the Eras Tour has "become my entire life" and "taken over everything," including her hobbies, which have been replaced with sitting at home and trying "to think of clever, like, acoustic song mashups and think about what you might want to hear" during the "surprise song" set of her show.

From the stage, Swift also acknowledged that Thursday's show was the 100th on the Eras Tour ( on June 13, no less ). She called the experience the "most exhausting, all-encompassing but most joyful, most rewarding, most wonderful thing that has ever happened in my life, this tour, these moments with you."

The Eras Tour, which started March 17, 2023, in Glendale, Arizona, has spanned five continents. When the tour wraps, Swift will have performed 152 shows. The tour has broken records and yielded (a few versions of) a concert tour movie that broke records in its own right .

Thursday's comments were the first time Swift has announced an end date to her beloved Eras Tour, which she had been adding dates to over the last year.

It’s unclear what she will be up to next, but any true Swiftie knows it’s sure to be enchanting.

Swift continues her European run this weekend in Liverpool before a rare Tuesday show in Cardiff, Wales, followed by shows in London next week.

Sir Paul McCartney headlines the Pyramid Stage during day four of Glastonbury Festival 2022

Sir Paul McCartney is coming back to the UK later this year for four special shows.

The Beatles legend, 81, is returning for the first time since his iconic Glastonbury festival headline slot in 2022 during the European leg of his Got Back tour.

In the lead up to Christmas, the Hey Jude hitmaker will perform at the new Co-op Live arena in Manchester on December 14 and 15, and then he’ll play two nights at The O2 in London on December 18 and 19.

In a statement, Sir Paul admitted it ‘always’ feels extra special being back in the UK playing gigs, and he promised ‘an amazing end to the year’.

He said: ‘I’m excited to be ending my year and 2024 tour dates in the UK. It’s always such a special feeling to play shows on our home soil.

‘It’s going to be an amazing end to the year. Let’s get set to party. I can’t wait to see you.’

As well as his first UK show of any kind since Glastonbury two years ago , this will mark his first time in London since playing The O2 in 2018, and he hasn’t had a Manchester show since 2011 at the Manchester Evening News Arena.

These shows will round off the Got Back tour for 2024, having launched the tour in 2022 with 16 massive US shows before taking to the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm.

Last year, he played 18 shows on the run in Australia, Mexico and Brazil, and now finally it’s the UK’s turn again.

Joining Sir Paul on the road is his longtime band, Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums), with the group known for their lengthy and spectacular live shows.

However, he previously  told the Conan O’Brien Podcast that he blames Bruce Springsteen  for top artists having to play for much longer at their concerts.

‘Back then [in the 1960s], it was a lot of people on the bill because nobody did long. Now people will do three or four hours. I blame Bruce Springsteen and I’ve told him so,’ he said.

The two legends have been close friends for decades, and frequently enjoy taking sly digs at each other.

They have performed together on numerous occasions, including back at Glastonbury in June 2022 when The Boss came out to join Sir Paul on stage.

Fans were treated to the pals teaming up on Glory Days, from Springsteen’s 1985 album Born in the USA, and I Wanna Be Your Man, from The Beatles’ second album in 1963.

Tickets on sale from Friday 21st June at 10am.
