We booked this trip to have some cycling time with our son who is a novice cyclist but fit. My husband and I are strong cyclists and have done trips with Exodus that are rated as a ‘4’ and ‘3’; no difficulties with cycling experienced on those trips. However, this Dordogne trip starts off the first cycling day with grades of 5% to 10% and as high as 16%. The second day of cycling has two optional rides with the same thing and even as high as 20% showing on our Garmin. Our son was not here to train for the Tour de France … the goal was to have some relaxing cycling … this is NOT relaxing cycling. I confirmed with an Exodus agent that a trip rated as a ‘2’ should be relatively flat terrain. When you are continuously experiencing elevation grades greater than 6%, it’s a seriously challenging ride. We ride in the Canadian Rockies … some great but tough rides there … this Dordogne trip is as tough as our mountain rides in Canada but not as many kilometres. The difficulty rating of this ride has been totally misrepresented by Exodus. Had we known, we would have booked an ebike. We were unable to get an ebike because we didn’t realize it was necessary until we had done a couple of days of cycling … now they are unable to get us one … so we’re stuck sitting around doing nothing. My husband and I took this first departure of 2024 in the first week of April, the weather was cool but sunny and the trip was fantastic. It was our first visit to Mallorca and a great introduction to the northwestern part of the island and this mountain range. There are several small towns, or villages, that you will visit on your hikes, including Soller, Puerto Soller, Deia, Lluc and others. Several of the hikes through olive groves and orange orchards had stunning mountain and sea views and were scented with orange blossoms as we hiked through. We were on a level 3 departure, graded so for the ascents, descents and rocky paths – be prepared for the rocks and bring your hiking boots and poles. The locations of both hotels in Puerto Soller and Lluc are excellent on this trip, so unique, and Lluc in particular, is so tranquil and scenic. Laura Rendon-Morgan Walking in Mallorca

Like most Exodus guides, Thano was excellent. However he went beyond expectations, his local knowledge was extensive (he seemed to know everyone on the island). Always approachable. The packed lunches were varied (and filling). He ordered the starters at every meal which meant that we sampled lots of local delicacies that we would otherwise have missed. Lots of little things (sampling the ouzo, beekeeper visit and so on) added to the overall enjoyment. The guided tour of Athens on the final day was a bonus. I fell utterly in love with Jordan on this trip. The people gave the warmest welcome, the sights were awesome and the food was delicious. Varied walks in a beautiful landscape, some testing steep uphill sections (particularly on the “gentle” Day 2 walk) given the high temperatures at the beginning of the week. This was the most amazing trip. Well organised from the moment we landed in Amman. The wonderful sites we saw were enhanced by the fantastic cycle routes we took. The cycling was as described – so in the main downhill through beautiful rural countryside. The roads very very good and the support team exceptional. There were a couple of really steep climbs in parts which i struggled with especially in the heat so I took the support option and out my bike on the back of the truck and rejoined the tour at the top. AVOID EXODUS TRAVEL, CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD AND HAVE NOT CONFIRMED MY TRIP

I booked a Walking/Cycling Trip to Ireland with Exodus Travel through Tour Radar. My credit card was charged $3500.00 on March 25, 2024. On March 27, 2024 I received an email from Tour Radar that Exodus Travel had not confirmed my booking and they requested a response from Exodus Travel. Exodus travel responded on March 28, 2024 that the accommodation promised in the package was not available on my travel dates and offered alternate accommodation. I accepted immediately. I did not receive a confirmation. I spoke to a Tour Radar rep on April 1, 2024 who informed me that Exodus Travel has not yet confirmed despite charging my credit card on March 25, 2024.

A very efficient service. Strongly recommend!

Staff here was incredibly helpful, well organized and often answering emails within an hour. Also, they have a very polite phone manor even when I were changing our flights and schedules several times. A big Plus++, Exodus Travel is really responsive with all of the COVID rule changes and admin. I've recommended them to my friends anytime they have a chance to visit Egypt. #love from Thailand

Had an accident, had to cancel, great service

I had an accident and i had to cancel 2 walking tours with Exodus travel. 😥. The communication and response was very fast and they were very supportive and understanding. Candice Du Preez was extremely helpful in sorting out my refund. No fuss, a very personalised service. I would highly recommend this company and I hope to go on one of their walking tours next year.

Unsure of Exodus ethos.

My partner and I went to Greece during early autumn last year. It was a walking holiday, and it was fabulous because of the breathtaking sceneries and energetic walks. It was an expensive trip because all dinner costs has to be borne by the customers, unlike other renowned tour companies that include them as part of the tour package. Our hotels in Greece were all 3-stars and the bathrooms were outdated and needs refurbishment. We were not allowed to choose the tavernas for dinner and felt very forced to stay with the group for our evening meals. Conversations around the same people at one long table became very monotonous, tiresome and uninspiring. The last day of our tour, we made a strong request that we will go to a taverna of our choice. It was pleasant experience and we had a chance to mingle with the locals too. I am unsure of the ethos of Exodus, but the point of a holiday is to experience a good break and enjoy conversations with natives/locals of that area. All the people in our group were from United Kingdom except for one American, and they all seem content not to mix outside the group and indulged in the same British-like conversations. The other two top-notch travel companies I travelled in the past, allowed a lot more freedom and choices. Sadly Exodus has some great holiday packages but my experience in Greece has frightened the life out of me. Would I travel with Exodus again? Not until Exodus can assure me that we can have choices and not stuck with the same 16 people on a long table every evening for the duration of our holiday.
