Colombian superstar Fonseca has announced a return to North America in 2023 to support his brand new album 'Viajante' . The 14-city tour kicks off February 23rd in Montreal and extends into June making additional stops in Toronto, Houston, Washington DC, New York, Chicago, Raleigh, Atlanta, Miami and Orlando. Also during the year, the singer will be heading over to Central/South America and Europe for additional performances.

Fonseca released his sixth studio album 'Viajante' on April 27th, 2022 via Sony Music Latin. The new album follows up 2019's 'Agustín' which won Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album at the Latin Grammy Awards and features guest appearances by Ana Torroja , Cali Y El Dandee , Spencer Ludwig , Kinky and Melendi . Back in 2021, the tropipop singer joined forces with Andrés Cepeda and launched their Compadres Tour performing their collaborative song 'La Promesa' as well as fan-favorites from each of their extensive discographies.

Fonseca vivió una noche inolvidable en Miami interpretando su variado y encantador repertorio musical

El sábado por la noche (17 de junio), Fonseca con entradas completamente agotadas se presentó en el Kaseya Center, en lo que fue el penúltimo show de su exitosa gira “Viajante USA Tour”. Y, como era de esperarse, el concierto en su ciudad adoptiva fue sencillamente inolvidable.

Inolvidable para todos los asistentes que dijeron presente en el recinto multiusos de Miami con un espléndido recorrido musical por varios géneros, los invitados sorpresa en el recital; pero también para el propio artista colombiano ya que tuvo la dicha de compartir escenario con su hijo de 5 años.

Durante cerca de tres horas, acompañado por 6 talentosos músicos en la guitarra, bajo, batería, teclados y el típico acordeón colombiano, Fonseca, quien tuvo varios cambios de vestuario, puso a cantar y bailar a los fanáticos en Miami interpretando con su cautivadora voz sus grandes éxitos, que van desde mezcla de pop y ritmos folclóricos, vallenato hasta ritmos sinfónicos y ranchera, entre otros.

Se escucharon varios temas del noveno álbum de Fonseca “Viajante”, que le dio el nombre a la gira, como “En vivo y en directo”, “Háblame bajito”, “Pasa”, “Besos en la Frente” y “2005”, este último con la sorpresiva aparición de Catalina García, vocalista y compositora de la banda Monsieur Periné, que se subió al escenario con un despampanante vestido rojo para cantar a dúo con el cantautor de 44 años. “2005″, es una canción que hizo junto a Greeicy y Cali & El Dandee en 2021 remasterizando su éxito “Te mando flores”.

También interpretó aquellas canciones que a lo largo de sus dos décadas de carrera musical lo han convertido en uno de los artistas románticos más conocidos de Colombia como: “Ven”, “Besos en la frente”, “Prometo”, “Paraíso”, “Vine a buscarte”, “Entre mi vida y la tuya”, “Enrédame”, "Simples Corazones", “Desde que no estás” y “Si tu no me quieres”.

Otro de los momentazos del concierto de Fonseca en Miami fue cuando a mitad del espectáculo, después de un interludio instrumental, apareció en lo alto de las gradas del Kaseya Center en el lado opuesto del escenario, rodeado de un grupo de mariachis deleitando a los presentes con una pizca de género ranchero en la inolvidable velada con canciones como “Prometo”, “Se me olvidó otra vez” y “Si nos dejan”.

Pero, sin dudas el momento más emotivo del show, más aún en la víspera del Día del Padre, se dio en la última parte del espectáculo cuando el hijo menor de Fonseca, Agustín de tan solo 5 años de edad subió al escenario a tocar la batería y lo hizo con un aplomo alucinante.

El pequeño acompañó a su papá para el tema “Por pura curiosidad”, vestido completamente de negro y manejando la batería con ritmo, destreza y grandes toques artísticos.

La inolvidable noche terminó con emoción con los mayores éxitos de la carrera de Fonseca: “Arroyito” y “Eres mi sueño” y “Te Mando Flores”. Sin lugar a dudas los fanáticos de Fonseca en Miami se fueron del Kaseya Center con el rostro sonriente, el corazón recargado y las ganas de volver a disfrutar de un show tan completo como este.

After his record label closed in the middle of the promotion process, it took him about two years to free himself from this contract. Bernardo Ossa appeared, with whom he produced “Te Mando Flores.” The song gave him his first entry on a Billboard chart and marked a turning point in his career.

“Overnight we were practically all over Latin America, in the United States, in Europe doing promotional tours, playing,” Fonseca recalled. “It was crazy.”

Now that he is an international reference of Colombian music, Fonseca wants to return to the sounds of his early days on his next album, which he plans to release early next year. “I want to make an album where the instruments are 100% recorded and that’s that phrase of going back to that sound,” he said. “That’s how I recorded that album in Venezuela the first time, and that’s how I recorded my second album, Corazón .”

Additionally, he revealed that at the end of this month, he will release a new song called “Canto a la Vida” as a tribute to Colombian music, with accordion, clarinets and percussion.

Among funny anecdotes, Fonseca stated that he shares his songs with his three children — ages 4, 9 and 13 — and they are like his “A&R department: absolutely without compassion.” “They’re like, ‘No, no, no, no, no, that’s horrible.’ [laughs] … They’ve inspired me a lot of songs.”

Regarding his most recent hit “Si Tú Me Quieres” with the Dominican maestro Juan Luis Guerra, who received nominations for the Latin Grammy 2023 for song of the year, recording of the year and best tropical song, he said, “I remember writing the song, arriving at the bridge moment that says ‘like a bee in a honeycomb.’ There I said, ‘Well, this is also like a tribute to Juan Luis’ … and from that moment I began to dream that could happen. It happened two or three years later.”

He also highlighted a special anecdote in his career with the song “Ven,” which he wrote inspired by his daughter Paz and which he said is the fastest song he has ever written. “I started making some chords and literally in an hour and a half, ‘Ven’ landed as if someone was dictating it to me and it was one of the most special intimate moments of my career,” Fonseca said. “I remember singing it after I wrote it so quickly and tears came to my eyes. It was something so personal that it was like a sublime moment by myself.”

Finally, as one of the secrets to staying current in music over the years, the artist stated, “Regardless of the profession one has, one comes to serve through what one does.”

It was an excellent show. I did not think it was going to be as excited and fun as it was. Fonseca was just awesome... it was definitely a memorable concert, I will go to see him everytime he comes to Atlanta.

Simply amazing! I would recommend a Fonseca concert any time. His music, talent and charisma are felt from the first song. Can’t wait until next time he comes back to Atlanta.
