Dear fans, We are eager to return to the stage and reunite with fans, but have made the difficult decision to postpone our USA winter tour due to the many challenges and safety concerns surrounding COVID that continue to affect touring musicians, especially those touring internationally. We very much regret having to take this step and will be in touch soon regarding new tour dates. Each venue will issue refunds and/or provide details on rescheduled dates. I’ll be doing a series of virtual meet and greets with fans, more on that soon. Hope to see you then or at a show later this year.

British Soulman James Hunter and his gritty, passionate, longstanding backing band bring you a sublime evening of no-nonsense Rhythm and Blues that has made the group a critical favorite and touring sensation.

James Hunter Six

The James Hunter Six are a Soul-Blues band from Essex, England, who’ve been touring and recording together for more than a decade. Their immediate, gritty sound provides the backing for their songwriter/guitar slinger namesake, whose weathered yet buttery smooth voice has made the group a critical favorite and a touring sensation. Given their intensity and virtuosity, no less than Allen Toussaint, Sharon Jones and Van Morrison have been counted as fans and shared stages with them.

Over the span of 30 years, James Hunter has worked on the railway, busked in the streets of London, provided backup vocals and guitar for Van Morrison, written scores of original songs and recorded some of the most original and honest Rhythm & Soul albums of the last two decades. He’s also opened shows for Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Willie Nelson and Tom Petty as well as headlined clubs and theaters all over the world.

By 2006, Hunter was recognized with nominations for a Grammy Award (“Best Traditional Blues Album” for  People Gonna Talk  (Rounder)) and an American Music Award (“Best New/Emerging Artist”). He and his band then hit the road for a decade of extensive touring and recorded critically-acclaimed studio albums—  The Hard Way  (Hear Music),  Minute by Minute  (Fantasy), Hold On! (Daptone), Whatever it Takes (Daptone). By 2016, MOJO magazine had crowned him “The United Kingdom’s Greatest Soul Singer.”

​The band’s newest sublime offering, Nick of Time is a shining example of how a master song-smith can continually draw fresh water from a bottomless well. In addition to the up-tempo, swinging R&B that has put The James Hunter Six on the map, Nick of Time explores so much more. The opening track and lead single, “I Can Change Your Mind”, is a beautiful, mid-tempo rumba that tips the hat to the sound of many early King/Federal releases but executed with a vibrancy that propels the tune into the 21st Century. The lush arrangements on “Till I Hear it from You” and ” He’s Your Could Have Been” sound like lost tracks from an early ’60s Burt Bacharach session. The straight forward soul of “Brother or Other” (whose timely message is only tantamount to its groove) and the sparse “Paradise for One” (that finds James channeling his innermost Nat King Cole), enrich the album with sounds one may not readily associate with James and Co. – culminating in James’ most exciting full-length release to date.

Bonnie adds Fall dates to ‘Just Like That…’ Tour 2024!

CELEBRATING A HEARTY RESPONSE TO HER AWARD-WINNING ALBUM AND SOLD OUT CONCERTS, BONNIE RAITT’S ‘JUST LIKE THAT…’ TOUR EXTENDS INTO FALL 2024 WITH ADDITIONAL U.S. DATES Bonnie Raitt is extending the ‘Just Like That…’ tour adding another 30+ dates in the U.S. to the already-robust schedule planned for the first half of 2024. Raitt and her longtime touring band will headline concerts starting in Arizona and Southern California, traveling up the West Coast and finishing up in the Pacific Northwest throughout September and October before heading to the Southeast and Florida in November to wind up the year. These dates will be supported by Special Guest James Hunter .

Many would think Raitt might be eager to rest and take some downtime after headlining 75 concerts in 2022 and another 50 in 2023 spanning the U.S., Australia, the UK, Scotland, Ireland and Canada, in addition to winning three GRAMMY® awards at the 65 th Annual ceremony last February and an Americana Music Award this past September (making “Just Like That” the first composition to win Song of the Year at both ceremonies).

The fact is, though there are always healthy breaks built into each tour, after a few weeks, Bonnie is itching to get back to what she loves most— traveling and playing live. Luckily her band, crew and the fans feel the same way! To that end, we’ve just put the finishing touches on another leg of the U.S. tour with exciting stops including playing multiple nights at Humphreys in San Diego, The Mountain Winery in Saratoga, CA, Fox Theater in Oakland, CA, Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland, OR and the Paramount Theatre in Seattle, WA as well as Bonnie’s first appearance since 2006 at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville!

Raitt’s fourth headlining appearance on the award-winning and longest-running music program in television history, Austin City Limits, will debut on PBS and PBS.com on February 24th during ACL’s 49th season. Special guest Sunny War joins Raitt for a unique performance in the episode.

Performing with his band, Special Guest James Hunter   known for delivering electrifying live performances with his authentic brand of rhythms and blues, will be supporting Raitt on the entire Fall tour and will also join her earlier in the year starting in Baltimore May 29th and going through June 29th in St Louis. About opening for Bonnie Raitt, Hunter says, “We’re very much looking forward to kicking off the night for the great Bonnie Raitt, so bring your dancing shoes and we’ll get you warmed up for a memorable evening of live music.” Raitt will begin her tour in late April with singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Maia Sharp returning as her Special Guest for the first 8 headlining concerts. Sharp’s latest album, Reckless Thoughts was released in August 2023 and features singles “Kind,” “Old Dreams” and “She’ll Let Herself Out.”

Saw James Hunter in Charlotte at the Neighborhood Theater! I have been waiting since 2010 to see him in person and he didn't disappoint. He puts on an awesome show! If you like the type of bluesy, soulful mix he sings, along with his raspy voice and awesome guitar playing then you are in for a treat. He reminded me a lot of Sam Cooke when he sang, and his guitar playing was on the scale of BB King and Stevie Ray Vaughn. He is such a talented musician and I look forward to seeing him again soon!

Grammy-nominated blues artist, James Hunter, has recorded some of the most original and honest rhythm and soul albums of the last two decades.

His gritty, soulful voice and electrifying live performances can be heard amongst his up-tempo, swinging RnB as James Hunter Six.

In the early ‘90s, Van Morrison recruited Hunter to sing backing vocals on the road touring and on two albums. In the years to follow, Hunter opened shows for Aretha Franklin, Etta James, BB King, Willie Nelson, and Tom Petty, and headlined clubs, theatres, and festivals across the world.
