With the studio albums this is not really the band for me.

But live they are phenomenal. I saw them yesterday evening (20th of May 2023) in Leiden, and it was a fantastic concert. Look forward to seeing them again!

Amazing performance live. No faults during hard solos. Sound quality was amazing.

Time to start and finish were reasonable. The place is also good at noise insulation from outside. Price to the show was also fair, €15.

Extreme progressive metal maestros  PERSEFONE  have announced their much anticipated first full tour of North America, which will see the Andorran band on the road with  Ne Obliviscaris  in 2023! Additional support will come from fellow special guests  Beyond Creation . The upcoming trek will begin on October 5, 2023 in Baltimore, MD, and arrives on the strength of  PERSEFONE ’s sixth studio album,  metanoia , released earlier this year.

Public on-sale for the tour starts this Friday, December 16 at 10:00am local time, while each band will also host a pre-sale exclusively through their respective Patreon communities, starting today (December 12) at 10:00am local time. PERSEFONE  is known for their brand of rich soundscapes and technically precise work, setting new standards in modern extreme progressive metal. Founded in 2001,  PERSEFONE  has released six studio albums, each showcasing the band’s myriad of musical principles: high technicality, distinct melodies, plenty of head-turning riffs and musical acrobatics. The band has toured worldwide with notable acts like  Obituary  and  Leprous , has hit stages at important festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Metal Days, Brutal Assault, ProgPower and 70,000 Tons of Metal, and are now about to tour North America for the first time in support of their new album,  metanoia !

Featuring collaborations with standout artists like Steffen Kummerer ( Obscura, Thulcandra ), Einar Solberg ( Leprous ),  Angel Vivaldi  and Merethe Soltvedt ( Two Steps From Hell ),  metanoia  exploits the full potential of contrasts in every song, with each track representing a story evolving from beginning to end and constantly growing in strength – redefining typical musical boundaries. Ne Obliviscaris, Beyond Creation & Persefone Announce North American Tour

Having just recently dropped their new single “ Exuul ” online , Ne Obliviscaris have announced that they will be teaming up with Beyond Creation for a fall 2023 North American tour. Persefone will open that trek.

Pre-sale tickets will launch today, December 12th at 12:00 pm EDT / 09:00am PDT via Ne Obliviscaris ‘ Patreon . Tickets for the general public are set to go on sale this Friday, December 16th at 10:00 am local time

Persefone pulls out of fall North American tour with Ne Obliviscaris

Persefone have decided to withdraw from the North American fall tour with Ne Obliviscaris and Beyond Creation. The group expressed financial costs and “personal complications regarding some members of the band.” While we’re saddened to see Persefone will no longer be on the bill, we’re excited to hear the instrumental progressive outfit The Omnific from Melbourne, Australia, open each night of the tour, which kicks off on October 5th. 

Persefone expressed:

“It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce today our withdrawal from the upcoming US Tour this next October along Ne Obliviscaris and Beyond Creation. The final decision not to continue with this particular tour is linked to many different reasons, from the purely economic side to very personal complications regarding some members of the band. As many bands are pointing out, touring these days is very expensive, but we have managed to meet every touring commitment we have been part of until this very US Tour. Prices on critical areas of touring such as transportation have been increasing far away from our economic capabilities in the last months, increasing the debt after the tour up to minus 30.000$. When this reality started to manifest we tried very hard to figure out any solution not to cancel our appearance on this tour. From increasing bank loans to a crowdfunding campaign. But then the personal situation of two members of the band made it impossible for them to be able to come to the tour even finding an unlikely solution for the economic side of the problem. On top of all this madness, the company we hired to transport all the gear from our last EU tour, lost equipment valued in about 8000€, adding that number to the economic pressure we are always facing and leaving us with no choice than having to replace all that gear by ourselves. We want to keep making this band grow, and we will keep touring as much as we can, but the overall situation for this particular one is just too much for us to endure. We are sure and we wish that the tour will be a huge success for all the bands involved, and we will really miss meeting all our friends in the US, and we will do everything in our power to come back to the US as soon as we can. Thank you very much for all the support.”

Ne Obliviscaris issued the following statement:

“We are sad to share the news that @persefoneband have unfortunately had to pull out of our forthcoming USA/CAN tour this Oct/Nov. To read Persefone’s statement in full head to their socials or check our stories where we have linked to it. We had such a great time with Persefone in Europe and had been so looking forward to another month on the road together, as I know many of you were to see us share the stage together. The one silver lining in this is that our good friends @theomnificband have agreed to jump on for what will be their first ever shows in the USA & Canada. They are such a lovely group of guys and such immensely talented musicians and so we’re grateful to be able to give them this unexpected chance to play for you all. Tickets are on sale (link in bio) and we really hope to see so many of you there! It’s been a long 5 years since our last shows in the USA/CAN and we’re really excited for it, even if today is a bit of mixed emotions seeing Persefone won’t be joining us this time around.”

The Omnific added:
