It's fairly simple. Derek and Scott are GODS OF HEAVEN TRAP. If they're performing near you, it would be TREACHERY if you didn't buy a ticket and persuade your entire circle of friends to go. I've had the honor of seeing them 3 times now... and each time, I came away a changed being. It doesn't even matter if you're not into the EDM or TRVP scene.. you will come away a fan. I guarantee these guys will change your life. BUY TICKETS NOW.

You guys threw down, but over all dissapointed, the transitions were terrible. You guys also stopped a lot. A lot of my friends came out to see you and were upset with some of what you did, it was nothing like your guys EDCLV set. If I hear good stuff like that, I'm expecting it anytime and anywhere I see you. Hopefully next time I see you guys I'll be surprised.

Slander killed it. They brought out Sullivan king and kayzo. So amazing! And the venue was incredible. One of the best performances I've ever seen. Loved it so much and would definitely go back without question!

Amazing show! Dubsteb, Trap, Heaven Trap, pure Energy! If you love singing, headbanging and party then you need to see SLANDER live. Incredible night & incredible show. 10/10 would reccomend to everyone.

Not so much a review of Slander as Songkick. Got an email from SongKick asking for reviews of the show. Seems kind of odd to prompt for reviews of a show that was canceled due to a hurricane.

Slander Reveals Brand New Audio Visual Show Experience and North America Tour Dates

Slander announces their chimera tour,  a brand new audio-visual experience set to take north america in 2023..

Slander is taking the tail end of 2023 by storm. On July 18, the American duo Derek Andersen and Scott Land announced their new Chimera Tour. Taking over North America with an immersive audio-visual experience that’s been in the making for over 2 years, Slander reveals never before seen production and an incredible lineup of opening artists.

What began as Slander’s A Better World event at the LA Convention Center has transformed into the Chimera Tour. Originally, the single-night show was set for August 25. It quickly sold out and was extended for a second night. Shortly after, Slander announced that these dates are actually leading off the debut of their audio-visual experience. Stopping at legendary venues including the Tacoma Dome, The Brooklyn Mirage , and Red Rocks Amphitheater , the Chimera Tour still has three locations yet to be announced and will finish on December 2 at The Armory in Minneapolis.

Slander stacked their all-new immersive show with an extensive list of opening acts. The lineup features A Hundred Drums , Kill The Noise , Riot, Saka, Space Laces, Trivecta , Zomboy , and many more. A display of diversity, this selection of openers is hinting at what fans can expect to hear at Slander’s Chimera Tour.

As excitement builds on social media, one fan on Twitter comments, “I can’t physically process how I’m going to see slander AND Trivecta at the same NIGHT at RED ROCKS! At least I have a few months to get my body prepared.” Another fan responds, “CHICAGO BABY FINALLLLLLY SO EXCITED! Two nights at the Aragon lfg.”

Known for marrying euphoric melodies and trap-inspired beats, Slander is a household name for their iconic style. In 2016, the American duo blew up after releasing a single collaboration with NGHTMRE , “Gud Vibrations.” The track immediately became an electronic music anthem and took on a life of its own. This propelled them into stardom and they haven’t stopped since.

Now, Slander is setting the tone for the future with audio-visual components and enhanced production. With their first LP “Thrive,” the 2023 single “Wish I Could Forget” featuring blackbear and Bring Me The Horizon, and more in their arsenal, Slander is preparing to sling a variety of sounds at the Chimera Tour.

SLANDER announce largest North American tour to date

In July, SLANDER shared the big news of the duo’s debut album Thrive , scheduled to land on September 22. Hot off the heels of the album’s announcement, SLANDER’s Derek Anderson and Scott Land have announced phase one of their largest North American tour to date. The Thrive album tour will feature a brand new live production, new music off of the album of course, all laced together by their sprawling catalog of crowd-pleasing hits.

Certainly, if 2019’s Eye tour was any sort of precursor as to what to expect from SLANDER out on the road, then the expectations for the upcoming Thrive stretch should be sky high. To kick off the tour, SLANDER will start on September 10 at the Phoenix Raceway in Arizona. So far 14 dates have been announced with an additional 10 dates waiting in the wings. What’s more—SLANDER will bring an impressive list of support names on tour including Wooli , Eptic , Space Laces , Wavedash , and more.

Amanda Knox Re-Convicted of Slander by Italian Court

  • By Daniel Kreps

Daniel Kreps

Amanda Knox ’s attempt to “clear my name once and for all” in connection to the headline-gripping 2007 murder of her roommate in Italy concluded Wednesday with a re-conviction for slander as an Italian court found Knox wrongly accused an innocent man for the killing.

Making her first appearance in an Italian court since 2011 — the same year she was released after spending four years in prison following her wrongful conviction in the murder of fellow exchange student Meredith Kercher in Perugia, Italy — Knox once again faced the charge related to her falsely accusing Kercher’s murder on Patrick Lumumba, the owner of a bar where Knox worked while in Italy.

“I am very sorry that I was not strong enough to resist the pressure of police,” Knox admitted during the slander trial ( via The Associated Press ). “I didn’t know who the murderer was. I had no way to know.”

“Amanda is very embittered,” Knox’s lawyer Carlo Dalla Vedova said following the re-conviction. “We are all very surprised at the outcome of the decision.” Knox’s legal team added they would appeal the conviction, which carries a three-year prison sentence; Knox won’t spend any additional time behind bars, however, as she was credited with time served for her prison stint while wrongfully accused and convicted.

On June 5th, I will walk into the very same courtroom where I was reconvicted of a crime I didn't commit, this time to defend myself yet again. I hope to clear my name once and for all of the false charges against me. Wish me luck. Crepi il lupo! — Amanda Knox (@amandaknox) June 3, 2024

“On June 5th, I will walk into the very same courtroom where I was reconvicted of a crime I didn’t commit, this time to defend myself yet again,” Knox, who now advocates for criminal justice reform and on behalf of the wrongfully accused, tweeted earlier this week. “I hope to clear my name once and for all of the false charges against me.”

Amanda Knox reconvicted of slander in case linked to Meredith Kercher's murder

FLORENCE, Italy — Amanda Knox failed in her bid to clear her name Wednesday as an Italian court reconvicted her of slander for accusing an innocent man in her roommate’s 2007 murder.

Knox wept after the verdict was delivered, as she appeared in an Italian courtroom for the first time in more than a decade. She was sentenced to three years imprisonment, but will not serve any more jail time as it counts as time already served.

The American was only 20 when she and her Italian then-boyfriend were arrested for the brutal killing of 21-year-old fellow student Meredith Kercher at the girls' shared home in Perugia.

Speaking after the verdict outside the courthouse in Florence, Knox’s lawyer told NBC News that he was “very surprised at the outcome of the decision and Amanda is very upset.”

Knox, 36, made headlines around the world as she was jailed and then cleared of killing her roommate, Meredith Kercher .

While Knox’s murder conviction was overturned, the slander conviction remained on her record. She had hoped that a not-guilty verdict would remove any lingering doubt about her innocence, but the court found that she had wrongly accused Congolese bar owner Patrick Lumumba of taking part in the murder.

22-year-old murdered British university student Meredith Kercher.

The case was largely based on two statements that Knox signed after she was questioned by investigators without a lawyer or a competent translator.

Knox had recently arrived in Perugia when she endured a long night of questioning about the murder, despite having only rudimentary Italian language skills and she ended up accusing Lumumba of killing Kercher in the statements that were typed up by police.

Wearing a pink top and blue skirt, Knox was accompanied by her husband, Christopher Robinson, and her legal team as she entered the courtroom early Wednesday for the retrial .

In a soft and sometimes breaking voice, Knox testified before eight Italian judges and jury members in fluent Italian, her arms resting on the courtroom bench.

She described the police interrogation as her “worst nightmare.” She said that she was questioned in a language she “barely knew.”

“When I couldn’t remember the details, one of the officers gave me a little smack on the head and shouted, ‘remember, remember,’” Knox said. “And then I put together a jumble of memories and the police made me sign a statement. I was forced to submit. It had been a violation of my rights.”

“I was a scared girl, deceived by the police and led not to trust her own memories,” she added.

Knox was 20 when she was sentenced to 26 years for Kercher’s murder at the apartment they shared in the idyllic central Italian university town of Perugia.

The killing made headlines around the world after Kercher, 21, was found half-naked in a pool of blood with more than 40 stab wounds Nov. 1, 2007. Her throat had been slit.

Kercher, a student from Britain's University of Leeds, was embarking on a year of study in Perugia, living in a rented flat with Knox and two Italian roommates. Friends called her “Mez.” The youngest of four children, she grew up on the outskirts of London.

Knox and her her Italian boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito , then 25, whom she had been seeing for around a week, were charged with Kercher's murder.

Prosecutors alleged it was a case of rough sex that got violent at the trial that was followed intensely in the United States, Italy and the United Kingdom.

After the two were convicted in December 2009, Sollecito was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment.

Both spent four years behind bars as the case meandered through the Italian court system and, after a series of flip-flop verdicts, they were ultimately exonerated by the the Supreme Court of Cassation, Italy’s highest court in March 2015.

The two were cleared seven years after the October 2008 conviction of Rudy Hermann Guede, a man from Ivory Coast whose DNA was found at the crime scene. Before his release in November 2021, Guede served 13 years of a 16-year prison sentence handed down after a fast-track trial that foresees lighter sentences under Italian law.

However, one conviction against Knox remained: the defamation case against Lumumba who spent a few weeks in jail, even after he established an alibi that proved he could not have killed Kercher.

But in January 2019, the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France, ruled that the interview conditions had violated Knox’s human rights and ruled that the Italian legal system should pay her $20,000.

“Knox had been particularly vulnerable, being a foreign young woman, 20 at the time, not having been in Italy for very long and not being fluent in Italian,” the court noted at the time.

In light of this, and following a constitutional reform, Italy’s highest court ordered a retrial of the slander conviction and it instructed Florence’s appeals court to consider only a handwritten statement that Knox wrote in English hours after she was questioned.

“On the one hand, I am glad I have this chance to clear my name, and hopefully that will take away the stigma that I have been living with,” Knox who campaigns for better awareness of forced confessions, said on her podcast, Labyrinths, in December.

“On the other hand, I don’t know if it ever will, in the way I am still traumatized by it,” she said.

MILAN (AP) — Amanda Knox will be back in an Italian courtroom this week to defend herself against a 16-year-old slander conviction that she hopes to beat once and for all.

The opportunity for Knox, who turns 37 next month, was made possible when a European court ruled that Italy violated her human rights during a long night of questioning after the killing of her British roommate in November 2007.

The slander conviction for accusing a Congolese bar owner in the murder is the only charge against Knox that withstood five court rulings that ultimately cleared her in the brutal slaying of her roommate, 21-year-old Meredith Kercher, in the apartment they shared in the idyllic central Italian university town of Perugia.

A verdict in the slander case retrial ordered by Italy’s highest court is expected on Wednesday, with Knox appearing in an Italian court for the first time in more than 12½ years.

“I will walk into the very same courtroom where I was reconvicted of a crime I didn’t commit, this time to defend myself yet again,’' Knox wrote on social media. ”I hope to clear my name once and for all of the false charge against me. Wish me luck.”

The slander charge was largely based on two statements typed by police that Knox signed during the early hours of Nov. 6, 2007, under extended questioning in Italian from police without a lawyer or a competent interpreter. The European Court of Human Rights ruled that the conditions violated her human rights.

Kercher’s killing grabbed worldwide attention as suspicion fell on Knox, then 20, and her then Italian boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, with whom she had been involved for just about a week.

Knox and Sollecito were convicted in their first trial, but after a series of flip-flop verdicts, they were ultimately exonerated by Italy’s highest court in 2015. Knox returned to the United States in October 2011, after her first acquittal. She is now the mother of two small children, and has a podcast with her husband while campaigning against wrongful convictions.

However, the slander conviction against Knox endured, a legal stain that continued to fuel doubts about her role in the killing, particularly in Italy — and despite the conviction of Rudy Hermann Guede, a man from Ivory Coast whose DNA was found at the crime scene.

Guede served 13 years of a 16-year prison sentence handed down after a fast-track trial that foresees lighter sentences under Italian law.

Based on the ruling by the European court, Italy’s highest court threw out Knox’s slander conviction last November and ruled that the two statements typed by police were inadmissible. It ordered a new trial, instructing the Florence court to consider only a handwritten statement that Knox wrote in English some hours later.

“In regards to this ‘confession’ that I made last night, I want to make it clear that I’m very doubtful of the verity of my statements, because they were made under the pressures of stress, shock and extreme exhaustion,’' her statement said.

A pioneer of the study of false confessions, Sal Kassin, says Knox’s signed statements follow a playbook of false confessions.

“It is empirical fact that most false confessions contain accurate details not yet known to the public and ‘false-fed facts’ that are consistent with the police theory of the crime, but that later prove to be untrue,” Kassin, a psychologist at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York, wrote about the case in his book “Duped,” which examines the phenomenon of false confessions.

Kassin said that police “contaminated” Knox’s confession, which aligned with police theory at the time.

“To hold her accountable for a statement in which she also implicated herself is absurd,” he wrote.
