It was very much classic Star Trek, and probably would have fit into the original series comfortably. Also, I was impressed with Janeway's gambit that ultimately doomed the fear clown. Yeah, count me in as a fan of that episode. Not a BIG fan, mind you, but I scratch my head at the hate it gets.

A true high-concept tour de force - superb script, superb performances, superb direction and productionn. By turns hilarious and profound. Without a doubt one of Voyager's top 10, and one of the must-watch episodes of Trek as a whole. It stands alone as a piece of drama, of theatre, on its own terms.

Voyager is very hit or miss but the good Voyager episodes are some of the best out there. McKean is able to fully encapsulate a joyful irrationality when personifying fear. Trek does a lot of episodes with commentary on mental health and this is one of the best. I have C-PTSD, GAD, and ADHD and I love how this episode addresses fear/anxiety.
