Swedish House Mafia, one of the biggest electronic dance music acts of the past two decades, has announced an extensive 2022 world tour that will include a concert at Pechanga Arena San Diego.
It will follow the Stockholm house-music group’s performance at the 2022 Coachella festival in Indio. Next year’s tour by the group will be its first since a 14-date concert trek in 2019. That tour came six years after Swedish House Mafia’s 2013 farewell tour.
In 2022, the group will perform Sept. 4 at Pechanga Arena San Diego. The tour will open July 29 at Miami’s FTX Arena and conclude its North American leg Sept. 16 at San Francisco’s Chase Center.
The European leg opens Sept. 29 in England at Manchester’s AO Arena and concludes Nov. 13 in Finland at Tampere’s Uros Arena. All dates and cities appear below.
The Thursday night announcement of Swedish House Mafia’s tour coincides with the release of the new song, “ Moth to a Flame .” It’s a collaboration with Canadian pop star The Weeknd, who this week announced the cancelation of his 2022 arena tour and a pivot to a 2022 stadium tour for which dates and cities have not yet been announced.
Swedish House Mafia’s tour next year will follow the 2022 release of the group’s next album, “Paradise Again.” It will be their first album since 2014’s “One Last Tour: A Live Soundtrack.”
Tickets for all of the 2022 tour dates go on sale Oct. 29, 2021 at 10 a.m. to the general public and will be available at swedishhousemafia.com . The website will also have a ticket pre-sale for fans who pre-order Swedish House Mafia’s new album from 10 a.m. Wednesday until 10 p.m. on October 28.
Tickets for the group’s Sept. 4 Pechanga Arena San Diego concert are priced from $39.50 to $275.50, plus service fees, and go on sale Oct. 29 at 10 a.m. at axs.com. There will be several pre-sales for the San Diego concert. They include, a Spotify pre-sale, a Live Nation pre-sale and a Pechanga Arena San Diego pre-sale, all of which will take place from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Oct. 28.

Swedish House Mafia: Paradise Again review – a formulaic play for radio airtime
(Republic) Veering between pop-club pastiche and something more interesting, the Swedes’ debut album is largely palatable but unremarkable
Swedish House Mafia ’s 2012 hit single Don’t You Worry Child embodied the commercial boom of EDM throughout the 2010s. Sounding like the saccharine climax of a Made in Chelsea episode, its emotive vocal and pop melody, paired with bright synths and a thumping kick drum, set the template for coming hits by the likes of Avicii and Kygo. Ten years later, the Swedish supergroup – DJs Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso – reboot this hybrid pop-club music for their debut album . At its worst, Paradise Again is derivative and dated. Tracks play like pastiches: Lifetime apes Starboy -era the Weeknd in its undulating rhythm and 070 Shake’s falsetto vocals; the syncopated modular synth sounds of Time are better articulated on Floating Points’ 2015 record Elaenia .
In its livelier moments, the album tries to revive sounds in new contexts. Redlight samples the Police’s Roxanne, splicing Sting’s yearning hook over a menacing techno beat to surprisingly enjoyable effect, while It Gets Better flirts with the processed synths of the Prodigy’s 1997 single Smack My Bitch Up , pairing them with a hammering bassline. These moments of respite among 17 tracks are too few. Most of the record is palatable but unremarkable – an algorithmic play for radio airtime. Instead, Swedish House Mafia intrigue when they reformulate dance music history.

A Decade Later, Swedish House Mafia Has Returned for Its Second Act
Following a sold-out show at madison square garden, the edm trio talks touring its debut lp ‘paradise again.’.

In 2012, Swedish House Mafia announced its imminent breakup. In the five years of making music together, the EDM supergroup – consisting of Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso – had churned out hits such as “Save the World” and “Don’t You Worry Child” and inspired the sound of the next generation of DJs.
An accompanying global farewell tour slated for the fall of the same year famously sold out in minutes. The aptly titled One Last Tour wrapped up with a final show in March 2013 at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival , where fans chanted the tour’s mantra “We Came, We Raved, We Loved.”
This time, it was more of a choice to go out and have fun together as brothers and enjoy the music together with our fans.

Swedish House Mafia Silences Haters With Sold Out Tour Kickoff
Swedish House Mafia kicked off its very first album tour in Miami on Friday night. The EDM super-trio is truly back to being a performing artist after years of being split up and then teasing their major return. As the tour drew closer, the press grew harsher. Stories of canceled stops flooded the blogosphere. Well, Swedish House Mafia knew all eyes were on them to impress, and they managed to silence the haters with an excellent first show in the Paradise Again era.
Perhaps the branding and marketing got too outrageous over time, but when the boys took the stage at the FTX Arena the doubts quickly faded away. After all, these are three very talented producers and DJs in their own right. The incredible Halo stage production made its debut at Coachella, and it wowed the audience in Miami as well.
Just like during Coachella, the trio kicked it off with Can U Feel It, before weaving through a mix of refreshed classics and some new beats. A thumping remix of The Weeknd’s Sacrifice acted as a bridge during tracks at one point, prompting some to expect a cameo. The trio also debuted their brand new Fred again … collab called “ Turn On The Lights again.. “, which really got the crowd roaring. Of course as the 90 minute set drew to a close we got the heavy hitters like Heaven Takes You Home, Don’t You Worry Child, and Save The World.
At the show, I noticed people that I knew from raves and festivals years ago back when Swedish House Mafia was helping kick off the golden era of EDM. In that moment I said to my friend “this really is like The Beatles of our generation, isn it?” For those of us who came up in that 2010-2013 time period and fell in love with EDM at its height, that rings true. The show was equal parts nostalgia and new. The crowd, too, was a mix of 30-somethings with some slightly older or younger. This had the feeling of a reunion tour for a classic band. For just a moment, it brought you back to that exciting time in 2012-2013 when Swedish House Mafia was such a revelation.
The tour show proved that the boys can still throw a great show for new fans and old.
Afterparty @ STORY
The FTX Arena show was a brisk 90 minutes, so many in the crowd were hungry for more. Luckily, Swedish House Mafia decided to throw an afterparty at the legendary STORY. This show provided everything their arena show lacked. This was a real DJ set in 2022 – meaning it featured a lot of house, tech-house, and other underground sounds. It was actually shocking to hear that type of music coming from Swedish House Mafia, but then you remember that each of them got their start in House music way back when, and continue to stay in touch with the scene.
The club was packed to the brim and you could see the Swedes up there having a ball with the crowd. The boys threw down at STORY and the edgy underground vibes at that party showed that they can still play a spontaneous creative set in addition to the high-budget spectacle you’ll see on the tour.

They said “It Gets Better” and it damn sure just did!
Swedish House Mafia fans had a field day today with the release of the highly anticipated collaboration with The Weeknd finally releasing being coupled with an official announcement of a huge album world tour.
This big news follows the news of the trio headlining Coachella 2022 which dropped just 2 days ago. This will also mark the 10 year anniversary of the last time they performed at the festival in 2012 and the world tour will follow.
After signature SHM style announcements at venues around the world, the trio took to social media to make the album world tour official.
The Swedes had already confirmed that their album Paradise Again will drop by the end of this year and today’s announcement of the massive 44-date album tour cemented that. Lena, our guide in Moscow was excellent. She was very knowledgable and could answer any question we had for her. We liked that she could pick up on our interests and take us places we might not have thought of to go. When we realized that one of the places we had chosen to see would probably not be that interesting to us, she was able to arrange entry to the Diamond Fund and the Armoury for us. Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.
Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Meanwhile, I will refer you to other potential visitors to Russia as I meet them.

Moscow, a City Like No Other
Moscow is Russia’s largest city with a population of between 12 and 13 million. It is also Europe’s largest city and when you visit Moscow, you can feel it. The layout and architecture of the city is eclectic, ranging from crooked, ancient streets and alleyways to wide, bustling boulevards, from medieval churches to Stalin skyscrapers and to modern, glass buildings towering over everything and of course in the center of it all is the Kremlin and the magnificent Red Square. Moscow is also home to a fantastic, efficient and very beautiful metro system – each station having its own special design. In fact, Express to Russia’s Moscow metro tours and excursions are some of our most popular attractions that we offer. On our Moscow tours, you will see this and more.
Moscow Tours centering on Russian History
Moscow has a long and interesting history and has been the capital of Russia in many of its different iterations – capital of the Grand Duchy of Moscow , the Russian Empire and of course the Soviet Union (who could ever forget the Soviet Union?). Moscow, was founded in the 12th century by Prince Yuri Dolgaruki (Yuri of the long arms – he really did have long arms!). From that time on, it was home to the Russian Tsars until Peter the Great moved the capital to St. Petersburg in 1703. The city has survived invasions and sieges from the Mongols, the Tartars, the Poles, Lithuanians and Napoleon but has always persevered. Our Moscow tours will enlighten you on this great history and give you insights into Muscovites and their unique culture. Our Moscow tours show you what the city is like today but also brings to life the past. Moscow never seems to sleep and is bursting with energy. A Moscow tour with Express to Russia is truly the best way of getting to know Russia’s largest and most vibrant city.
Frequently Asked Questions From Our Travelers
What is the best time to visit moscow.
Any time of year is fine depending on what you plan to do. Summertime is pleasantly warm, ideal for exploring the city and its vibrant atmosphere, but Moscow will be much busier and accommodation is more expensive. Winter can be quite cold but beautiful nonetheless, and this is unproblematic if you intend to spend most of your trip in museums and galleries. There are also various festivals and events organised throughout the year. For more information about the best time to visit, read our guide
How many days are enough in Moscow?
If you plan your itinerary strategically and aren’t averse to a packed schedule, you can cover Moscow’s main sights over a long weekend. Most popular attractions are in the city centre, and the Moscow Metro allows you to cover much ground in a small amount of time. Ensure that your accommodation is fairly central and book tickets in advance, so that you can make the most of your days. For an informative and well-organised day out, check out our Moscow day tours with options to suit all interests.
Do they speak English in Moscow?
As Russia’s capital city, tourists are well accommodated in Moscow. There should be English-speaking staff in restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and attractions in tourist hotspots, and there are also English-speaking tourist police. Transport services have English translations on their maps and English announcements via intercom; alternatively, order taxis from the Yandex Taxi app (Russian Uber), though it’s unlikely that your taxi driver will speak English. If you get stuck and cannot communicate, it’s fine to use Google Translate.
Is it safe to travel to Moscow?
It is no less safe to travel to Moscow than to any European city if you exercise common sense and look after your belongings. As with every city some regions can be more unsavoury than others, but no tourist attractions are located there. The traffic in Moscow is notorious, so exercise caution when crossing roads. Do not take unlicensed taxis; book in advance or take public transport, which is widespread and perfectly safe. If you encounter any problems, look for the special tourist police who can help you.
