Hints and tips for improving your chances of getting Tom Jones tickets

Make sure you have a my ticketmaster account.

Get the basics covered before tickets go on sale by logging in and checking your Ticketmaster account ahead of time. If you don’t have a Ticketmaster Account then make sure you sign up in advance –  Ticketmaster.com.au .

Sign into your My Ticketmaster account ahead of time

Remember to triple check your passwords, account information, and billing information are all filled in correctly in advance, that way you’re not facing any last-minute account updates when trying to process your order.

Keep your options open with ‘Best Available’

Save time by searching “Best Available,” which scans all sections fast – it’s quicker than searching sections one at a time.

Keep an eye on the clock

There will be a time limit applied to all transactions as you are progressed through the ticket purchasing stages. Remember to keep an eye on the timer on your screen and move through the processing pages as quickly as possible (this is even easier when you’ve completed the account set-up stage we mentioned above).

Don’t refresh your screen

Stick to one window while you’re in the  Waiting Room  and when you’re being pushed through  the Smart Queue  and always resist the urge to refresh.

Hitting the refresh button means you’ll lose your place in the queue and, as frustrating as it can get, patience is the only way to win this game. Ticketmaster is equipped with sophisticated systems that are designed to manage and process ticket purchases as quickly as possible. The queuing system that appears on your screen will place you at the front of the line as soon as possible.

Remember: there are a lot of fans

We’re expecting this to be a very popular event. When a popular event goes on sale there are hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of customers all attempting to purchase tickets at the same time. Tickets are sold as long as seats are available, and when an act is this popular, sometimes they go very quickly.

Be sure to follow the above tips to ensure you have the best chance of snapping up some tickets.

With a remarkable career spanning more than six decades, Tom Jones is widely considered to be one of the greatest singers and recording artists of all time, selling more than 100 million records and continuing as an esteemed and influential figure in the music industry, and hailed by The New York Times as a “musical shapeshifter who could slide from soulful rasp to pop croon, with a voice as husky as it was pretty ”.

Tom Jones is indeed a living legend, one of the few musical artists whose profession began at the dawn of modern popular music who continues to have a vital recording and performing career to this day. His irresistible show traverses musical eras and genres, cuts across class divides and appeals to young and old, male and female, mainstream and cutting edge. Sir Tom has always been about the power of the song, the power of the voice – qualities that have made him a true legend in the music zeitgeist.

Kickstarting a successful and diverse career in the early ’60s and achieving international fame with his powerful voice and stage presence, he has had a string of hit songs, including It’s Not Unusual, What’s New Pussycat?, Delilah,  James Bond theme Thunderball , Green, Green Grass of Home , She’s A Lady, Sex Bomb  and a cover of Prince’s Kiss.

His career has been filled with numerous honours and accolades, including a deeply cherished knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II in 2006, multiple BRIT Awards, a Silver Clef Award, the prestigious Music Industry Trusts Award and a Hitmaker Award from the US Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Tom has received some of his best reviews for his most recent Ethan Johns-produced albums Surrounded By Time, Long Lost Suitcase, Spirit In The Room , and Praise & Blame . Critics have praised both the recorded material and his performances, highlighting his undeniable and unique talent in both the studio and on stage.

He has always had a fundamental interest in a wide range of music, leading him to work with dozens of iconic collaborators over the years, ranging from Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin to Van Morrison, Dolly Parton and Ed Sheeran; just some amongst many.  Although he is well known for his hits, he is first and foremost a diverse artist with a true rhythm and blues soul.

Sir Tom Jones – LIVE review “Ages and Stages Tour”

20th March 2023 – Kings Park Botanical Gardens, Perth Western Australia

tom jones australian tour 2023

As the sun set over Perth, casting a warm glow upon Kings Park Botanical Gardens, anticipation crackled in the air like electricity. Despite the expected temperature of 18 degrees, the night felt surprisingly warm, almost as if the excitement itself was generating heat, wrapping us in a cozy blanket of anticipation. It could have been below freezing, and still, none of us would have budged. We were all there for one reason: to witness the legendary Sir Tom Jones in action.

We were wanting all to know …… was it unusual? if you pardon the bad pun!

tom jones australian tour 2023

But before the man of the moment took the stage, we were treated to the energetic sounds of Germein , a three-piece sister outfit hailing from Adelaide, South Australia. Bursting with enthusiasm and sass, they warmed up the crowd with their infectious blend of influences, ranging from BB King to Van Morrison. They had a certain funk that I can only describe as mixture of Cat Stevens with a sprinkle of Spice Girls attitude – I know it is different but trust me it works!.

tom jones australian tour 2023

Their set was fun, catchy and warming what was not to love about this Australian made trio. Georgia , Ella and Clara delivered a sharp and well pointed set the standout song for me was “Knocking on my door” really catchy number with a peculiar start, I am excited to see what the rest of the tour has installed for these 3 and their growth as artists. Sir Tom chose well in securing their skillset and passion to open for him in Perth.

tom jones australian tour 2023

As the floodgates opened during the intermission, allowing fans to grab refreshments and stretch their legs, the mixed demographic of the crowd became apparent. From children to grandparents, everyone was united by their love for Sir Tom’s timeless music—a testament to his enduring influence and appeal.

tom jones australian tour 2023

Then, the moment we had all been waiting for arrived. Sir Tom Jones , 83 years young entered with a solid single light shining on him – highlighting the rawness of him and music he was about to deliver. There were so many hits…… too many hits!!! you forgotten all of his many influences, you had forgotten all his numerous collaborations, the early releases, the later ones…. there are just so many amazing songs and dont even get me started on the countless friends in the industry that he has had the pleasure to work with…… new stories he was about to share. his friends are the who’s who of the world of music – from Cat Stevens , Jerry lee Lewis , Chuck Berry to Elvis , everyone knew this was going to be a musical feast fit for the ages. It was going to be strategic attack on our auditory / visual senses giving us no reprieve.

tom jones australian tour 2023

Highlights for me were “It’s Not Unusual” – when the first note of that song was struck everyone (and I mean everyone) was singing, people were singing to complete strangers sitting next to them it almost felt like a firm handshake had just happened and we were meeting people first the first time and just knew we had so many things in common. “Sex Bomb” – blew up, all over the stage with pieces flying everywhere (not too sure if they were under garments but to be honest i don’t blame them lol) a switch was flicked by Sir Tom and crowd kicked it up a notch.

tom jones australian tour 2023

“Green green grass of home” was a sober change in pace, the delicate lyrics really made an emotive change so much more palatable. “Delilah” was quiet possibly the biggest karaoke moment of the night…. everyone sang – even the security guards could not help themselves, that song is just so infectious. Sir Tom brought out his youthful whip again when he hit the crowd with “Leave your hat on” – there were a few punters in the crowd ready to act out a few scenes from “The full monty ” as they were drunk on amazing music……. this just shows the affect that Sir Tom has on people.

tom jones australian tour 2023

Sir Tom’s dedication to the late great “Prince” was epic…… “Kiss” ran out all over the Botanical gardens, like a busted dam of excitement flooding / covering everyone it touched. It was a very special moment to see an amazing song delivered by such a talented artist….. wow! Ending the night on a Chuck Berry classic was a stroke of genius….. no one left that place not still singing, walking back to the car I was still buzzing ….. on that addictive musical high.

tom jones australian tour 2023

In conclusion, anyone who doubts Sir Tom Jones’s ability to command a stage at 83 years young clearly hasn’t witnessed his magic firsthand. His performance was nothing short of sensational, and I urge anyone who has the chance to see him live to do so without hesitation. It’s an experience that’s worth every penny and more—a musical journey you won’t soon forget. Sir Tom, you nailed it, and you can quote me on that!

Massive thank you to Sir Tom Jones Management, Revolutions PR, Livenation and Mellen Events for the opportunity and the access.

Live Review: Tom Jones – Ages & Stages Tour 2024 in Perth

20 March 2024 at Kings Park Botanic Gardens in Perth, Western Australia

Review by  Sheldon Ang

Photography by  Sheldon Ang Photography

We are immersed in a momentous chapter in music history through our five sences, de-crystallising the dreamy imagery engraved in our subconscious from the preludes of his stratospheric fame on the black and white TV, to the trademark gyration across the world stage of the discotheque era. Tonight, there may be 50 shades of grey among the crowd, with thousands attending as repeat customers of Tom Jones, though many have renewed their vows with Sir Tom Jones through the attendance of their children and grand-children. With the seeds and flowers bloomed with the younger generation gravitating towards the 83 year old icon, the legacy of Tom Jones shall linger in the playlist of the next generations for another 60 years.

tom jones australian tour 2023

From the sex bomb to a charismatic statesman; “I’m Growing Old”, said the octogenarian Tom Jones in a lyrical rendition as he graced the stage for the first time in the Ages and Stages Tour of Australia. His presence was magnified by a whiskey-on-ice baritone that reverberated across Kings Park like no other. The Welshman still commands his fair share of crowd aggregation, as the iconic star stood and sang at the sold-out night at King Park, Perth in Western Australia. And if that wasn’t not enough, he will return for the following night to a near sell-out crowd.

Understandably, the ageless statesman is no longer the trademarked gyrating, hip twirling, knee bending and squatting performer of the last millennium. Instead, he projects his stunning rich vocals as his weapon of choice – and frankly – that’s appreciated by the paying fans. No fancy props, just Tom, his band, large screen of context and that high end whisky-signature voice.  The charisma of Tom Jones was undeniably addictive as he lifted through the hooks of his songs, spanning across 60 years.

tom jones australian tour 2023

Following the confession at the start of Bobby Cole cover, he continued with Not Dark Yet (Bob Dylan cover) and the sing along track of It’s Not Usual through a bossa nova, shaka shaka, Iberian calypso rendition as the evening transformed into a beach bar café par ambience. The bodies on the floor jiggled, with foot as the nostalgic rain poured from the heavens in this serene open air venue.

For the sake of career longevity, the choreography have been rehashed to suit. Sex bomb were immersed in a rendition of vocal seduction, almost a reflection of his time over the years that involved sipping champagne in a Las Vegas club with the likes of Elvis and Chuck Berry – more of that later. Tom Jones’s vocal projection drove deep. If our eyes were shut, we would be listening to the Tom Jones of the 70’s – the decade that is.  His vocals in a Capella propagated effortlessly without the clutter of music at the intro.  As the rhythm section struck accord, the crowd were wood by the bluesy rendition of this classic. The punchy projection of the words, “Sex Bomb Sex Bomb” thundered through the sound system, explosively reverberating across the grounds of Kings Park. He occasionally moved with the innuendo, purring through the extension of the “R”, oozing a desire that only Tom Jones could emanate. Fans who gravitated towards the classic mirrored his stance, with fists grabbing and punching into the air through the canopy of heads, as the crowd sang as if they were unashamedly extolling about their own sexual prowess and virtues. At this point, it was obvious that Tom Jones’ deep driving voice is richer than most working artists half his age, overriding the accumulative karaoke faux pas recoiling from the well-intendef fans in Perth.

tom jones australian tour 2023

Green Green Grass of Home was one of the sing-alongs of the night, with the intro taking fans to the 60’s within 0.7 of a second, followed by the self-appointed voices of seven thousand riding on the groove train of Tom Jones. Indeed, the pasture was greener on this side of town tonight. The track is the single of the 1967 album of the same name where Jones began to shift from the teenage-targeted audience to the more matured crowd. Song Fact – the track tells the story of a condemned person within four walls in a prison, reminiscing a poignant part of his life. From the euphoria among the fans, we doubt they knew the gruesome meaning to this Jonny Darrell cover of 1965.

And as if Tom Jones needing validation, the vocal clarity performed in ballads such as Borderline and I Won’t Crumble If You Fall were accentuated without the music clutter. The crowd dived into dead silence, grappling to every word of this Welsh crooner. The magical moment was catalysed by the stunning lighting from above, forming a silhouette through the smoky air.

tom jones australian tour 2023

A dedication to the late Prince was in order, as Tom Jones still conveyed the message with an “adults only” believability with swaggerish track in Kiss. The propensity, the bravado and the occasional cheeky “Wooh” with the attitude of a 40-something silver fox strengthened his tenacious fortitude of his performance. The energy in his voice and the physical projection resonated as he jived in slow motion, moving his hand across his body and upper thighs while the crowd screamed. Indeed, the remnants from the 70s and 80s linger.

You still got it, Tom! Said a fan.

If I Only Knew was a stunning mixture of rock, staccato projection and almost rap in some parts, without any signs of lethargy, whatsoever. Like a rocker, he crossed the stage and thrusted his hips gently while winking at the crowd, subtlety oozing the sexual flair and charm. The breathing techniques and timing were perfect, and not just for his age.

tom jones australian tour 2023

Towards the end, Tom reminiscence, “I was in Las Vegas in 71, 72, and I was with Elvis Presley one night…Elvis Presley (emphasising his name, and the crowd acknowledged)…and one night after our show where we were performing in different venues, Elvis said, ‘Chuck Berry is playing, do you want to go and see him’ and I said ‘Sure’ and we went to see Chuck Berry…when we were sitting there, Elvis (again emphasising Elvis) and myself…woo Elvis….this is the truth…’and you know something’ Elvis said, ‘There is the king of rock and roll…right there’”. And so the final song of the night was the upbeat Jonny B Goode. The performance was world class, for any age.

The late Chuck Berry and Elvis are still known as the King of Rock and Roll, and anyone to have witnessed them live would have had a story to tell to their grandchildren. In a similar fashion of legacy and narrative to follow, seeing Tom Jones live carries the same level of wonderment.

Tonight, we’ve witnessed one of the greatest chapters of music history.

Tom Jones (born 7th June 1940) is a Welsh singer who covers all genres of popular music – pop, R&B, dance, country, rock, soul, gospel, and more and has sold over 100 million records worldwide.

Born and bred in South Wales, Jones began his career as the front man for a beat group called Tommy Scott and the Senators in the mid 60s, where he first attracted attention before breaking away to pursue his solo career. His music caught on very quickly, and across his career he’s achieved a huge 36 top 40 hits in the UK, and 19 in the USA. Known for his most famous songs Sex Bomb, She’s a Lady, What’s New Pussycat, and Green, It’s Not Unusual, Jones has an incredible back catalogue of smash hits, and is sure to keep everyone entertained.

Back in 1999, he was awarded an OBE, later followed by a knighthood in 2006 for his services to the music industry. As well as these honours, Jones has won a Grammy, two Brit Awards, and an MTV Video Music Award over the years, and also had his own TV show, This Is Tom Jones, back in the early 70s. Historically, Tom Jones played huge arena venues to incredibly large crowds of fans, and to this day he still maintains an incredible following.

Nowadays you’ll find him coaching and judging on the UK version of The Voice, or playing rare but incredible sets usually at prestigious events, so keep an eye out for tickets!

Live reviews

Wednesday 19th July. Sandown Park Racecourse. Tom Jones. After a successful evening with the horses there was a high expectation of Sir Thomas of the Jones.

Sadly, like my horse in the last race it was a disappointing showing. Like my horse the show lacked pace, stamina and rhythm. It was a stop start show with large spells of nothing really. The sound wasn’t great but our attention often wandered to other things, be it grown men wearing women’s pants or just shiny bits of paper.

The hits were the hits (and I thought he had more than the five we all know) and these were interspersed throughout the set but the bits in between seemed like an excuse for Tom’s excellent band to show off a bit.

It was a dial in performance that lacked any real passion or atmosphere and left me wishing we’d left earlier for a nice meal or few beers after the horses finished.

It’s a shame really and outside of his hard core female fans down the front I don’t think the vast majority can hand on their heart say it was great gig. For me it will get filed quickly in the worst along with Eddi Reader, Marc Olson and Victoria Williams and Jackie Leven.

Onto to the next and keep on rockin’ y’all

Tom Jones, the Welsh crooner with one hell of a powerful voice. Having first found fame in the 60s with his recognisable vocal and startling range, his career has lately had a revival of sorts due to his role as a mentor on The Voice UK. He has been playing various summertime events and festivals to a loyal fanbase made up of fans old and new.

Away from the voice, his charisma and personality is incredibly likeable as his warm mannerism means he is able to build connection with his crowd almost instantly. He also has a talent for name dropping that is almost as good as his talent for singing, regaling the audience with stories of sharing the stage with Elvis before tearing into classics such as 'Mama Told Me Not to Come' and 'Time Bomb'. The crowd sings along in force yet they are shadowed by the sheer force of Sir Tom's pipes and he really allows his voice to shine during 'Didn't It Rain'. He proves that age does not always mean you have to slow down, as at the age of 74 Tom Jones is busier than ever.

sean-ward’s profile image

Tom Jones- well, what can I say? Tom gives a great live performance and sounds just as good as you expect him to. He sang all the classics and some new ones too. Although the crowd were not always too pleased with his newer renditions they were just as good. Tom got all of the crowd involved and knows how to put on a proper show.

The set list was well paced, mixing newer material and crowd-pleasing hits. The best of the latter were a singalong Delilah, an infectiously upbeat It’s not Unusual, and a rollicking Mama Told Me Not to Come. Tom's bellowing voice perfectly echoed around the place with a gorgeous sound filling the crowd. The audience would hold Tom to every note and he executed each one perfectly. A total crowd pleaser and a lovely guy. He knew what the audience wanted and gave it to them. Tom Jones is timeless and his version of delilah will always get the crowd going. An excellent gig, would recommend to anyone.

The show was Amazing! Everyone was on their feet dancing- including the employees of Warner Theater! His voice is as strong as ever and I love the variety of songs that he performs. I saw him at the O2 last year in London, and this show was by far the better of the two. In London, we were required to stay seated and were hushed for singing along. Still great to see Tom perform but I hope he comes back to DC soon! I Love you Tom Jones!!!

What a Night! Tom Jones is about 74 years old and you don´t hear it. You see it sometimes, but you forgot it, when the next song starts. He presented some new songs from the upcoming Album and it is not what I excepted. The good old songs like "Sex Bomb", "It´s not unusual" and "Delilah" in new arrangements made the evening incredible. Next time in Germany I will be there!

What a gig!! Tom Jones is an icon. A legend. Whether you like his music or not. When Sir Tom sang, I'm sure our hair went backwards!,like in a wind tunnel!.. Some classics sung and some covers thrown in.

The worst part for me was some drunk women in the crowd nearby who fell about blind drunk, crashing into other people and tried to be louder than Tom even though the PA!

The show in Atlanta was fantastic! Tom Jones was incredible!! His voice is golden...legendary!!! He can sing any genre and it magically works. My mother introduced me to his blusey Welsh voice at about the age of 5 and for 50 wonderful years I have loved and will always love him!! Thanks mom and thank you Sir Tom for sharing you beautiful Gift of Song with me!

The show was absolutely amazing. Tom Jones rocked the stage with that wow voice of his, he's a real showman. The only complaints were food/drink/merchandise was very expensive and the length of time to get out of car park as there was not enough staffing down at the exit to guide the rows of cars out safely and quickly apart from that the show was well worth it.

lizi-edney-woz-curti’s profile image

At 79 Jones voice has not aged! Sounding young and strong! His prescence still sensual and provacative! I was a little dissappointed he didnt sing all his classics! But he loves blues and I understand his preference Regardless he was amazing! His band was an excellent accompaniment to his style and choice! Brilliant!

Troye Sivan at Primavera Sound

Christian Bertrand

Former Rolling Stone AU/NZ cover star Troye Sivan is returning to Australia for a homecoming tour.

The pop superstar will play shows in Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney this November, performing at some of the country’s most iconic venues like the Sydney Opera House Forecourt. He’ll also cross the water to perform at Auckland’s Spark Arena on December 2nd (see full dates below).

Sivan will be supported by bedroom-pop artist Nick Ward , who was named Ticketmaster’s 2024 Breakthrough Artist.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, July 16th at 12pm local time. The Live Nation pre-sale begins on the previous day at 11am local time.

Sivan is touring in support of his acclaimed 2023 album Something to Give Each Other , which earned two Grammy nominations, four ARIA Awards, and almost 250 million album streams.

Something to Give Each Other featured blockbuster hits like “Rush”, which won Song of the Year at this year’s APRA Awards , while Sivan’s album was also shortlisted for the Australian Music Prize.

In a highly positive four-and-a-half star review, we praised Sivan’s latest album for being “about discovery of self, connection and a message of embracing your true self.

“Written all over the world with longtime collaborator Leland, the record oozes with warmth and confidence; it’s an adoring love letter to read, and to give away.

“While first single ‘Rush’ fast became his biggest solo hit to date, the standout track is ‘One Of Your Girls’, a slick, brain-tickler about a chapter in Sivan’s life involving straight-identifying men. Oscar Görres’ production forms its sleek backbone, especially near its close, where an arpeggiated synth slams down beautifully in the final instrumental,” our review read .
