Buttes history

What a great way to learn about Buttes history. Trolley driver was extremely knowledgable and passionate about his home town. Saw many of the reasons Buttebecame so important to thei dust rial revolution. Gives you the chance to see other places to go back and tour.

We weren't sure if we should take the time for this tour but all of us were so glad we did! Our guide was very knowledgeable with the answer to almost every question anyone asked. The tour lasted almost two hours and we came away with a real appreciation of Butte, both its history and present day charm. Just a great way to see this great town!!

Take a ride on a trolley to see the town. Sounds great until the seats are really uncomfortable and the guide isn't all that great. I've been on worse tours and I've been on better. This one was just lackluster.

Well worth the price! You get a 2+ hour open air trolley ride all around Butte, stopping at the Berkeley Pit. You also go by one of the Copper King mansions, the Cabbage Patch, uptown historic buildings, and loads of stories of Old Butte, sometimes up to the World Museum of Mining

This tour is guided on a replica of an old electric trolley car. The information given by the guide is comprehensive and interesting. It's a fun, good-weather activity for the whole family and is reasonably priced.

The trolley was located next door to our campground and had three daily tours. Since the driver was a local and the history teacher at a local high school, he had a lot of historical background, as well as comical stories about the area. Our first stop was Berkley Pit and the admission fee was waived for our tour. The route took us by a brothel, The Cabbage Patch slums, the university, the courthouse and several mansions. This is a must trip for Butte.

Fantastic historical journey

This tour cost $17 each and was well worth spending an hour and a half touring the town. The information shared by the driver was very informative and he added his own personality with humour. Do take a jacket, even in summer the trolley was cold.

Butte is a surprising town, lots to see and do. We drove down the business route and stayed most of the day. Located the trolly tour, signed up, add took it. It's a 1.5 hour trolly tout aboard one of those curtsey trolly busses with uncomfortable wood slat benches. Our driver was a native, had lots of interesting facts and stories. If we had been more comfortable we would have given the trip a 5.

Excellent. Butte has a fascinating mining history. The late 19th & early 20th century buildings & houses are spectacular. Our tour guide on this trolley tour was so knowledgeable, so interesting that I would almost say this tour was worth the airfare. I've been to Butte a few times but this was the first tour. It was the best illustrated history lesson I ever had. $15 for Seniors. Get tickets at Visitors' Center on George St.

My friends and I signed up for this trolley tour of Butte. It was great! We rode around the area while our tour guide, I believe he was a school teacher, pointed out historical buildings and gave an amazing explanation of each which really captured our attention. We went to the Pit and went in to see this Super Fund site. Very intriguing! I think everyone will really enjoy this tour and this information about these historic sites. It is easy for everyone because you travel on the trolley.....seniors, families and everyone else.

This was a fun trip around town, definitely saves from needing to drive ourselves! We had a great stop near some of the mines and even visited the Berkeley Pit!! Loved the décor of some of the old Mansions and Chateaus!

If you are in butte and want a cool tour of the sights and the city, the trolley tour is a must. The tour will give you a good idea of places you may wish to explore later
