Voyager Of The Seas cabins review

Voyager Of The Seas staterooms (1708 total) include 121 Suites, 669 Balcony, 228 OceanView, 157 Promenade View, 533 Inside (including Virtual Balcony). Most cabins are sized 150-160 ft2 (14-15 m2). Most cabin balconies are sized 50 ft2 (5 m2). The largest is Royal Suite (1090 ft2 / 101 m2 plus 215 ft2 / 20 m2 terrace with Jacuzzi).

The cruise ship has a total of 27 handicap staterooms (ADA-certified, wheelchair-accessible cabins) in the types/categories Junior Suite (2), Balcony (8), OceanView (7), Promenade View (1), Inside (9). The total number of cabin categories is 38, including the "Guaranteed" categories (W-Suite, X-Balcony, Y-Oceanview, Z-Inside).

During the ship's Royal Amplified 2019 drydock were added 72 new staterooms (Interior and Balcony) and new "family cabin" categories were introduced - CB (Connecting Balcony), CO (Connecting Oceanview), CP (Connecting Promenade View Interior), CI (Connecting Interior).

Follows the review of RCI Voyager of the Seas staterooms as amenities, furniture and services.

All Suites have a king bed, large-size bathroom (whirlpool bathtub, separate shower), vanity area, walk-in closet, large living area (queen-size sofabed, dining area/pantry, wet bar, kitchen, dining table), private balcony (sliding floor-ceiling doors, whirlpool bathtub, sun loungers). Guests in all Suites (excluding Junior Suites only) enjoy the following bonus amenities: Concierge Service (24-hour Concierge Lounge access /continental breakfast, hors d'oeuvres, CD/DVD library, private parties arrangements, priority services (Salon/Spa reservations, booking RCI cruise tours/excursions, dining reservations).

Royal Suites have 2 separate bedrooms (each has 2 twin beds /convertible to Queen), another room with bunk beds (for 3rd/4th person), extended balcony (whirlpool, deluxe lounge furniture). Additional amenities in Royal Suites are media center (surround sound, large HDTV, stereo, CD/DVD player), baby grand piano.

Owner Suites have queen beds, walk-in closet, large bathroom (separate bathtub/shower), large living room (double sofabed, dining area, bar, fridge), media center.

GT-Two-Bedroom Grand Suite (former Royal Family Suites) have 2 separate bedrooms (each with 2 twin beds /to Queen), guest bedroom (2 lower single beds /convertible, plus 2 bunk beds), living room (vanity, double sofabed, dining table, dresser, sofa), bathroom (shower). Grand and Junior Suites have 2 twin beds (convertible), walk-in closet, larger bathroom (bathtub, shower), large living room (desk, drawers, vanity, sofabed, chairs).

All balcony staterooms are with floor-ceiling sliding doors opening to a private veranda. On the Royal Caribbean Voyager ship, cabin balconies on decks 7 and above have plexiglass, while those on deck 6 are with steel railings. All portside and starboard balconies are with an in-hull design. Solid metal rises up to 3 ft / 1 m from the deck floor, while the other part of the railing is open. Aft-location verandas have larger metal structures. Aft-facing balconies are warmer compared to the other ones during cold-weather cruise itineraries. Side-location balconies offer better views since the ones closer to the middle are more enclosed. The ship's mid-aft part is humped (wider). Cabins on the aft hump's outer part are premium location staterooms.

You can save money by booking a forward/aft stateroom in the category you are interested in. Their sizes and features (amenities) are the same as of the more expensive mid-location staterooms.

Categories VP (Oceanview Suite), 1K (Ultra-Spacious Oceanview), and 1L (Panoramic Oceanview) are bow-facing, family-type cabins perfect for families with more kids. They accommodate up to 6 passengers making them a cheaper alternative to booking connecting cabins. Each stateroom has 2 large picture windows (round-shaped, non-opening), a separate bedroom (with Pullman beds / upper-lower bunk beds), large living area (1 double sofabed, 2 lower single beds (convertible to Queen-size double bed), larger bathroom (shower/bathtub). These staterooms offer amazing unobstructed views and can be booked cheaper than balcony cabins.

Oceanview Suites are with floor-ceiling windows (sized in inches 76 high x 100-320 wide / in meters 1,9 height x 2,5-8 width). These are premium family-type accommodations, each with 2 single beds (convertible to a double), large living area (desk, drawers, vanity, double sofabed), ample closet space, bathroom (WC/shower).

Standard Oceanview cabins are with a Porthole Window (round-shaped, size 24-inch / 61 cm) or with rounded Picture Windows. The fore-located Oceanviews have two round-shaped windows overlooking the ship's bow.

Atrium Promenade staterooms (category 2T-Promenade View/former PR) are a unique type of inside cabins with bowed windows overlooking the Atrium's Royal Promenade. The room's bowed window gives more interior space and is also a great vantage point to watch the Royal Promenade's "street" activities - including the parade each evening. Remember to keep the curtains closed at night as there are Promenade cabins across the "street" too.

A unique Royal Caribbean cabin type is the "Interior Virtual Balcony". The stateroom features a floor-ceiling LED screen (size 80-inch / 2 m). This is a 4K ultra-HD screen (no TV functions) that receives real-time/live video streaming from the cruise ship's outside cameras. This means you will enjoy "balcony views" without paying the higher-priced cabins with step-out balconies.

All Voyager OTS cabins as amenities have 2 twin beds (convertible to queen), ample closet/drawer space, private bathroom (shower, hairdryer, bath products), sitting area (desk, drawers, vanity, sofa), smart HDTV (infotainment system, Internet, on-demand-movies), individual air-conditioning, direct-dial phone, electronic safe box and lifejackets (in the closet), radio, minibar, Internet access, 24-hour room service (5-12 am /complimentary).

Some staterooms have either sofabed or upper/bunk beds (Pullman beds) for 3rd/4th person. The twin bed size is 36 x 82 inches (90 x 210 cm).

In-cabin babysitting is available at an hourly fee (US$19 per kid) for 4 kids per stateroom max. For in-cabin use can be borrowed movies, toys and games suitable for kids with autism.

RCI's new Wi-Fi costs US$15 per device per day (50% discount on a second device). The Wi-Fi is always on (shipwide coverage) and super fast (even for streaming movies).

Galleries of Images Voyager Took

The Voyager 1 and 2 spacecraft explored Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune before starting their journey toward interstellar space. Here you'll find some of those iconic images, including "The Pale Blue Dot" - famously described by Carl Sagan - and what are still the only up-close images of Uranus and Neptune.

Jupiters Great Spot

Photography of Jupiter began in January 1979, when images of the brightly banded planet already exceeded the best taken from Earth. Voyager 1 completed its Jupiter encounter in early April, after taking almost 19,000 pictures and many other scientific measurements. Voyager 2 picked up the baton in late April and its encounter continued into August. They took more than 33,000 pictures of Jupiter and its five major satellites.

Image of Saturn

The Voyager 1 and 2 Saturn encounters occurred nine months apart, in November 1980 and August 1981. Voyager 1 is leaving the solar system. Voyager 2 completed its encounter with Uranus in January 1986 and with Neptune in August 1989, and is now also en route out of the solar system.

Image of Uranus

NASA's Voyager 2 spacecraft flew closely past distant Uranus, the seventh planet from the Sun, in January. At its closet, the spacecraft came within 81,800 kilometers (50,600 miles) of Uranus's cloudtops on Jan. 24, 1986. Voyager 2 radioed thousands of images and voluminous amounts of other scientific data on the planet, its moons, rings, atmosphere, interior and the magnetic environment surrounding Uranus.

Image of Neptune

In the summer of 1989, NASA's Voyager 2 became the first spacecraft to observe the planet Neptune, its final planetary target. Passing about 4,950 kilometers (3,000 miles) above Neptune's north pole, Voyager 2 made its closest approach to any planet since leaving Earth 12 years ago. Five hours later, Voyager 2 passed about 40,000 kilometers (25,000 miles) from Neptune's largest moon, Triton, the last solid body the spacecraft will have an opportunity to study.

Image of Neptune

This narrow-angle color image of the Earth, dubbed 'Pale Blue Dot', is a part of the first ever 'portrait' of the solar system taken by Voyager 1. The spacecraft acquired a total of 60 frames for a mosaic of the solar system from a distance of more than 4 billion miles from Earth and about 32 degrees above the ecliptic. From Voyager's great distance Earth is a mere point of light, less than the size of a picture element even in the narrow-angle camera. Earth was a crescent only 0.12 pixel in size. Coincidentally, Earth lies right in the center of one of the scattered light rays resulting from taking the image so close to the sun. This blown-up image of the Earth was taken through three color filters -- violet, blue and green -- and recombined to produce the color image. The background features in the image are artifacts resulting from the magnification.

Suite Lounge on Voyager of the Seas

By stjlo , August 5, 2023 in Royal Caribbean International

Cool Cruiser

This will be our first time in a grand suite on Voyager of the Seas. Can someone tell me what the suite lounge is like and when the drinks are available? My husband and I don't really drink a lot but wouldn't mind a glass of wine now and then.  Also, do they offer soft drinks? I'm trying to figure out what beverage package to get. Any other information about the suite lounge would help so much ( size of lounge, types of snacks, hours, etc.).

Suite Lounge is a separate room within the Viking Crown = nice views

Happy hour with free select list of drinks is normally 5pm to 8pm each night.

Yes, they offer soft drinks during the happy hour.

Continental breakfast in the AM, hors d'oeuvres during happy hour.

There is a self-serve coffee machine available throughout the day with various "specialty" coffees.

Thank you so much for this info. Sounds lovely. One more question... can you take the drinks with you or do you need to consume them there?

I think the rule is consume in the lounge, but it is rarely, if ever, enforced.  One drink (and a water bottle) to go won't be a problem.  A handful may raise some eyebrows.

There hasn't been an RCI ship we've been on in the last few years that enforced this rule.

We also have no problem getting water and or a can of coke to take with us as we leave.

I was in a grand suite on Voyager of the Seas a few months ago.

The suite lounge is on deck 14 next to the Viking Crown lounge, but has it's own locked entrance door which can be opened with your SeaPass card. The lounge has couches and chairs with seating for about 30 people, plus an outside deck with additional seating.

The bar is not in the lounge, during happy hour there are waiters who will take your drink order then go get the drinks, so it takes a little longer to get them than a lounge that has a bar. Wine, beer, mixed drinks, soft drinks, and water can be ordered. They also set up an assortment of hors d'oeuvres and desserts during happy hour. Various hot and cold finger foods.

The waiters don't care if you drink in the lounge or take it with you. We regularly ordered one drink for the lounge and another to take to dinner, and after dinner we'd order a drink for the lounge and another to take to the evening show.

Happy hour depends on dinner hours but is usually something like 5:00-8:00 or 5:30-8:30. This is the only time drinks and snacks are available in the suite lounge, other than coffee which is always available.

Take this into account when you decide on a drink package, also consider the number of sea days. If you have a lot of port days it probably won't pay to get a package.

One other note about Voyager suites - as on many ships, if you are in a suite you can eat breakfast in Chops. On Voyager it is very convenient, if you get to the Windjammer and there is a long line to get in, Chops is right next to the Windjammer you can just pop in and eat there.

On this class of ship we've had some great SL service. When the SL is crowded we often sit in the VCL (near the door to the lounge) and our waiter serves us out there.

Chops on Voyager has a great team working there.  Everyone, the managers, waiters, cooking staff really make it a pleasure to be there.  I spent a couple weeks aboard recently and made a point of going there for breakfast daily.  The food and service was excellent.  Great pancakes, but order two of them.  The standard order was one thickish pancake, probably plenty but not for me.

The Suite Lounge was vacant every morning save for me and maybe a couple others.  They have the new coffee machine so it actually works reliably.  I didn’t go in the evenings since I wasn’t in a suite so I didn’t get free drinks (pinnacle access).

3.75 stars rounded up. I stayed at the Outrigger Waikiki to be near the Blue Note, a music venue on their second level, where I was seeing a show. Small hotel room, even smaller bathroom, & overall the property is dated, but it was clean, comfortable, & decorated with island style (low key want to know where I can get the same hula girl lamp.) Love that there are two ABC Stores nearby; one on the hotel's lower level & one directly across the street. Convenient for buying snacks, SPF I never have room for in my luggage, & last-minute souvenirs. Swimming pool isn't very big but no matter when beach access is literally steps from their restaurants, Duke's & Hula Grill. Weird elevator configuration; swipe your room card & a display tells you which elevator to take (which is sometimes around the corner.) Thx for the complimentary water bottles & tote bags, Outrigger. Location is unbeatable but if neighboring hotels are updated, I'd prefer to instead stay there.

This place is a tossup....It is pricey and then they charge you $50 a person for resort fees, but don't know what that covers. If you have a car, you have to pay $50 a day to keep your vehicle there and valet only. They do have valet all day and night long, sometimes they are pretty quick. The hotel room was pretty clean. There is a tv, mini fridge, and depending on what room you get... We had 2 queen beds and a oull out couch. the pullout couch was wayyyy more comfortable than the beds. So I didn't get much sleep because they are very uncomfortable. Inside the hotel, they have a few little shops and restaurants. The restaurants dont have a big selection on teir menu. My mom HAD to have the Hula Pie at Dukes, but to me it just tasted like expensive vanilla ice cream. You can walk all the way through the hotel because it is open. There is a pool but I never saw anyone use it because the because is 5 steps away from the pool. If you need extra tp, or need a microwave, they have to send someone to bring it up.

We are mid-stay at the wonderful Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort. The location is perfect and the ocean views are breathtaking. From the first moment at the Valet station through check-in and beyond the personal service and attention to detail is un-matched. Dukes restaurant is an exciting place to eat with live entertainment. So much to see and do. The room was immaculately clean and inviting albeit somewhat dated. the balcony was awesome with amazing view of the ocean. Room is cleaned, beds are made and fresh towels provided every day... a lost art in most every resort hotel it seems these days. The entire staff here is focused on you and go out of their way to make sure you are completely satisfied, a testament to excellent management no doubt. The pool is small and seating around the pool can fill up quickly but there are lots of other areas immediately adjacent to the pool that actually offer some shade. You get a plastic card upon checking in which entitles you to 2 Beach towels. Return the towels at the end of the day and you get your card back to use again the next day. A wrist band in addition to a room key card gives you access to the elevators and room. The room does have a safe as well as a Keurig machine with coffee and tea provided. There is also a small refrigerator in the bathroom. The TV was a decent size. The Resort aims to retain its classic look and roots to Waikiki. We're not even halfway through our 8-day stay but already looking forward to a return visit!

Excellent hotel voyager lounge for daily breakfast and happy hour! The setting is absolutely ideal on the deck right above the beach. You have a gorgeous view of sunrise over Diamond Head for breakfast. It was so relaxing to sit and watch the waves with a nice breeze through the palm trees. The daily selections were also superb. Lots of fresh pineapple and fruit, coffee, juice, toast and bagels, hot and cold cereal, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, waffles, and more. For happy hour, food selections varied with cheese and fruit, dumplings, salad, fried egg rolls, and a bunch of meat options I don't eat. The POG juice was also such a treat.

Jose provided absolutely amazing service upon checking in for our 2 night stay. He was so friendly, making several great suggestions. Room as spacious, clean and comfortable. The phone didn't work which made it difficult to call down to the front desk when extra items were needed. Would definitely recommend and stay again

A wonderful hotel for a staycation or to recommend for visitors. I chose it cuz we were going to Blue Note and I knew the valet parking would be convenient although it's $45 a day with in/out privileges. I chose a club room which gave you access to a special elevator that takes you directly up to floors 14,15 & 16. You get afternoon pupus from 4:30-6:30 p.m. In the morning your complete breakfast is self service in the club lounge. I was surprised how many children are here. The hot water is instant for the tap and shower. The decor is simple with dark wood and photos of Waikiki-ish scenes. Thirsty white towels. Why not 5 stars? Maybe I'm too particular but I always look for a laundry bag in the closet for used clothes, nada. There is no safety bar in the shower and the toilet seat is very low. The beds are high if you're not at least 5 feet tall. The sheets were not soft but maybe they are new? We were on the 15 th floor and the railing has no safety for little kids. Drops straight down. But the partial ocean view upgrade for a kamaaina was well and gratefully appreciated. Condition of the room, lobby and definitely the Voyager Club Lounge is well maintained. Would I stay here again? In a heart beat.

Very underwhelmed by my experience here. For thousands of dollars for our stay, you would think the amenities and service would be better. From having to wait hours to check into our room to being denied a late checkout (unless we paid extra), I was not impressed with the service. The room was average, not exceptionally clean, no minibar. Some days we didn't get housekeeping service because they didn't show up until 3pm. Other days we had to rush out of our room because they arrived at 9am. The resort is what you would expect in Waikiki- extremely overpriced, packed with people, loud. We would pay a couple hundred dollars extra to go elsewhere and have a better experience.

Made a reservation about 4 months in advance for an Oceanfront Club Room with 2 Double Beds. Leading up to the stay, I went on chat and made phone calls and confirmed that the Club Room is guaranteed at floor 7 or above. The height was important because I booked a room specifically to watch the Nagaoka Fireworks. I chose Outrigger because I felt they were positioned front and center. Easy valet upon arrival and bags were taken to bell desk. At check-in, I found it awkward to be seated. I almost stayed standing just because it's the first time I've seen a set up where you are seated while checking in. Like I was seeing my banking representative. Because I arrived very early because Kalakaua was being closed at 1pm for the parade, my room was not ready, but I was given towel cards to enjoy the resort while waiting for room. Proceeded to the pool area and got a few lounge chairs by the pool. There was one bartender walking around taking orders. Live music was played the entire time, minus a break or two. 3pm came and I still did not receive a text, so I went to the front desk. I was told my room just became available and I would have gotten a text shortly. I was given room 328, on the 3rd floor. I asked to speak to a supervisor. Jose ended up working with me from then on. Initially, I was told there was nothing and to go to 328 to see if it would do. Went up, and saw "trees" blocking the view. I mean so much for paying the highest rate and having that view... I got back down and continued to explain all the preparation I did prior to. Even cancelling my Penthouse Reservation at Hyatt. After reviewing availability, I was given keys to a partial ocean view, went up, and that didn't do. I made my final trip back and I was told to wait as they tried their best to accommodate me. I went off to the side and was initially writing a 1 star review, but then Jose came to me and said they have the perfect room for me. They put me up in the same room category on the 15th floor, room 1528. See photos. All was well with the room and view. Very spacious corner unit. City views, ocean views, and peek-a-boo Diamond Head view. There is a lounger on the side lanai, two rocking chairs on the oceanfront lanai. I was extremely happy they were able to accommodate me and I thanked Jose so much for his efforts. Upon resuming pool time, a woman and I shared our customer service stories and figured I share her story as well, because it is worth noting the strides they take to please their customers. Long story short, she thought she booked this Outrigger for her 40th anniversary, her reservation ended up being at Outrigger Beachcomber. She thought the hotel she booked was on the beach. Knowing it was her own fault, she made no complaints about it. Halfway through her stay, an off duty Manager at the Outrigger started chatting with her in passing. Somewhere down the line she told her story and laughed that it was entirely her mistake. The Manager took her info and said, "I will see what I could do, no promises, but I'll let you know tomorrow." She thought nothing of it thinking in the end nothing will happen. but she got a call from a very ecstatic manager the next morning! She was instructed to go to the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort for the remainder of their stay! Just thought I'd share that as well. It was great to hear a happy story from another hotel guest regarding the customer service experience.

I've never gone to Hawaii for a vacation or pleasure, only for business, which only was for a couple of days and this was 20 years ago! My wife had never been to Hawaii and I promised her that we would go for our 25th Wedding Anniversary, and we made it!!! I planned the entire vacation and I literally just pointed to a location on the map and said to myself, that's where we're staying, lol. As long as it had beach access, my wife is going to be happy! Happy wife means a happy life for me, and I must say I've been doing a good job for the past 25 years. The Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort was a great choice!! I reserved a King Bed with a partial ocean view. Our room was on the 14th floor and is was nice, clean, and comfortable. We loved the view from our room and completely satisfied. There's a TV, safe, iron and iron board, and a mini refrigerator in the room. No microwave, bummer!!! For the 2 of us, the room was roomy. The house keeper who attended to our room, Joann, is a superstar! Shout out to Joann who attended to our needs and made sure we had what we needed to make our stay comfortable. There are washers and dryers on the ground level of the resort and you'll walk by them on your way to the pool or beach. They have plenty of towels to give out so don't worry about packing towels. The one the thing that took me by surprise was paying the additional resort fees, which is $45 per night. Depending on how you reserve and pay for your stay, which I paid upfront, you'll be informed of these fees upon checking in. It's in the small print that nobody reads, lol. The resort staff as a whole was friendly and helpful. I had considered renting a car but glad I didn't. There's absolutely no where to park and the hotel has valet parking at $45 per day. Not worth it for us especially when everything you could ever want is within walking distance of the resort or it's right there at the resort! When we took our Sunset Cruise, we requested an Uber to and from where we had to meet, which was about a mile from the resort (about $8 one way). There are 2 restaurants in the resort, Duke's and the Hula Grill. We went to both restaurants on a couple of occasions and enjoyed our meals. Unfortunately we couldn't get into Duke's for Dinner because they are booked with reservations weeks in advance. So if you are planning to stay there and want to go to Duke's for dinner, call and make reservations. Both restaurants are open (no windows) and to the rear of the resort and you can see out to the beaches and ocean. There are gift and other shops in the resort. There's also a Spa and fitness center in the resort. I used them both. There's also a place called The Blue Note (place to enjoy a meal and live entertainment). We decided not to go to the Blue Note. We were not interested in seeing the person perform that was scheduled to perform at the Blue Note. Overall we had a great experience and if we ever make it back to Honolulu, you know where I'll be staying, yep, at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort...and I'll be well aware of the $45 per day resort fee!

My first experience staying at Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort during my recent visit to Honolulu. Overall, I was extremely pleased with the hotel, service, accommodations, and location in Waikiki! My recent stay unknowingly coincided with a holiday weekend and multiple conferences going on nearby, so majority of the big hotels were booked up and/or had very steep rates. As it turns out, I loved this resort and would highly recommend it to anyone. The other yelp reviews with cons reviews w.r.t. the elevator and noise, during my 4 day stay was not bad at all. If you are sensitive to noise which music does play into the late night (it is Waikiki and one of the most famous restaurants is located in the hotel), then simply request for a higher level floor that is not near on the Duke's side of the hotel. Rooms are not glamorous, but modest with nice wood furniture. Very clean and suitable for a hotel stay. Location is unbeatable since it's in the heart of Waikiki and on top of that, right on the beach front....lovely during day and evening. If you don't need a rental car, don't get one and just rely on Lyft or Uber. I always rely on Shared Car service when I travel and rarely have been disappointed. Lyft drivers easily know where to pick riders up at this hotel but NOTE: make sure your pick up address is the hotel address and NOT across the street 3rd floor at the Int'l Marketplace!!! For some odd reason, the Int'l Marketplace 3rd parking lot address is automatically populated when requesting a Lyft driver.

The Comprehensive Guide to Moscow Nightlife

  • Posted on April 14, 2018 July 26, 2018
  • by Kings of Russia
  • 8 minute read

voyager lounge photos

Moscow’s nightlife scene is thriving, and arguably one of the best the world has to offer – top-notch Russian women, coupled with a never-ending list of venues, Moscow has a little bit of something for everyone’s taste. Moscow nightlife is not for the faint of heart – and if you’re coming, you better be ready to go Friday and Saturday night into the early morning.

This comprehensive guide to Moscow nightlife will run you through the nuts and bolts of all you need to know about Moscow’s nightclubs and give you a solid blueprint to operate with during your time in Moscow.

What you need to know before hitting Moscow nightclubs

Prices in moscow nightlife.

Before you head out and start gaming all the sexy Moscow girls , we have to talk money first. Bring plenty because in Moscow you can never bring a big enough bankroll. Remember, you’re the man so making a fuzz of not paying a drink here or there will not go down well.

Luckily most Moscow clubs don’t do cover fees. Some electro clubs will charge 15-20$, depending on their lineup. There’s the odd club with a minimum spend of 20-30$, which you’ll drop on drinks easily. By and large, you can scope out the venues for free, which is a big plus.

Bottle service is a great deal in Moscow. At top-tier clubs, it starts at 1,000$. That’ll go a long way with premium vodka at 250$, especially if you have three or four guys chipping in. Not to mention that it’s a massive status boost for getting girls, especially at high-end clubs.

Without bottle service, you should estimate a budget of 100-150$ per night. That is if you drink a lot and hit the top clubs with the hottest girls. Scale down for less alcohol and more basic places.

Dress code & Face control

Door policy in Moscow is called “face control” and it’s always the guy behind the two gorillas that gives the green light if you’re in or out.

In Moscow nightlife there’s only one rule when it comes to dress codes:

You can never be underdressed.

People dress A LOT sharper than, say, in the US and that goes for both sexes. For high-end clubs, you definitely want to roll with a sharp blazer and a pocket square, not to mention dress shoes in tip-top condition. Those are the minimum requirements to level the playing field vis a vis with other sharply dressed guys that have a lot more money than you do. Unless you plan to hit explicit electro or underground clubs, which have their own dress code, you are always on the money with that style.

Getting in a Moscow club isn’t as hard as it seems: dress sharp, speak English at the door and look like you’re in the mood to spend all that money that you supposedly have (even if you don’t). That will open almost any door in Moscow’s nightlife for you.

Types of Moscow Nightclubs

In Moscow there are four types of clubs with the accompanying female clientele:

High-end clubs:

These are often crossovers between restaurants and clubs with lots of tables and very little space to dance. Heavy accent on bottle service most of the time but you can work the room from the bar as well. The hottest and most expensive girls in Moscow go there. Bring deep pockets and lots of self-confidence and you have a shot at swooping them.

Regular Mid-level clubs:

They probably resemble more what you’re used to in a nightclub: big dancefloors, stages and more space to roam around. Bottle service will make you stand out more but you can also do well without. You can find all types of girls but most will be in the 6-8 range. Your targets should always be the girls drinking and ideally in pairs. It’s impossible not to swoop if your game is at least half-decent.

Basic clubs/dive bars:

Usually spots with very cheap booze and lax face control. If you’re dressed too sharp and speak no Russian, you might attract the wrong type of attention so be vigilant. If you know the local scene you can swoop 6s and 7s almost at will. Usually students and girls from the suburbs.

Electro/underground clubs:

Home of the hipsters and creatives. Parties there don’t mean meeting girls and getting drunk but doing pills and spacing out to the music. Lots of attractive hipster girls if that is your niche. That is its own scene with a different dress code as well.

voyager lounge photos

What time to go out in Moscow

Moscow nightlife starts late. Don’t show up at bars and preparty spots before 11pm because you’ll feel fairly alone. Peak time is between 1am and 3am. That is also the time of Moscow nightlife’s biggest nuisance: concerts by artists you won’t know and who only distract your girls from drinking and being gamed. From 4am to 6am the regular clubs are emptying out but plenty of people, women included, still hit up one of the many afterparty clubs. Those last till well past 10am.

As far as days go: Fridays and Saturdays are peak days. Thursday is an OK day, all other days are fairly weak and you have to know the right venues.

The Ultimate Moscow Nightclub List

Short disclaimer: I didn’t add basic and electro clubs since you’re coming for the girls, not for the music. This list will give you more options than you’ll be able to handle on a weekend.

Preparty – start here at 11PM

Classic restaurant club with lots of tables and a smallish bar and dancefloor. Come here between 11pm and 12am when the concert is over and they start with the actual party. Even early in the night tons of sexy women here, who lean slightly older (25 and up).

The second floor of the Ugolek restaurant is an extra bar with dim lights and house music tunes. Very small and cozy with a slight hipster vibe but generally draws plenty of attractive women too. A bit slower vibe than Valenok.

Very cool, spread-out venue that has a modern library theme. Not always full with people but when it is, it’s brimming with top-tier women. Slow vibe here and better for grabbing contacts and moving on.

voyager lounge photos

High-end: err on the side of being too early rather than too late because of face control.

Secret Room

Probably the top venue at the moment in Moscow . Very small but wildly popular club, which is crammed with tables but always packed. They do parties on Thursdays and Sundays as well. This club has a hip-hop/high-end theme, meaning most girls are gold diggers, IG models, and tattooed hip hop chicks. Very unfavorable logistics because there is almost no room no move inside the club but the party vibe makes it worth it. Strict face control.

Close to Secret Room and with a much more favorable and spacious three-part layout. This place attracts very hot women but also lots of ball busters and fakes that will leave you blue-balled. Come early because after 4am it starts getting empty fast. Electronic music.

A slightly kitsch restaurant club that plays Russian pop and is full of gold diggers, semi-pros, and men from the Caucasus republics. Thursday is the strongest night but that dynamic might be changing since Secret Room opened its doors. You can swoop here but it will be a struggle.

voyager lounge photos

Mid-level: your sweet spot in terms of ease and attractiveness of girls for an average budget.

Started going downwards in 2018 due to lax face control and this might get even worse with the World Cup. In terms of layout one of the best Moscow nightclubs because it’s very big and bottle service gives you a good edge here. Still attracts lots of cute girls with loose morals but plenty of provincial girls (and guys) as well. Swooping is fairly easy here.

I haven’t been at this place in over a year, ever since it started becoming ground zero for drunken teenagers. Similar clientele to Icon but less chic, younger and drunker. Decent mainstream music that attracts plenty of tourists. Girls are easy here as well.

Sort of a Coyote Ugly (the real one in Moscow sucks) with party music and lots of drunken people licking each others’ faces. Very entertaining with the right amount of alcohol and very easy to pull in there. Don’t think about staying sober in here, you’ll hate it.

Artel Bessonitsa/Shakti Terrace

Electronic music club that is sort of a high-end place with an underground clientele and located between the teenager clubs Icon and Gipsy. Very good music but a bit all over the place with their vibe and their branding. You can swoop almost any type of girl here from high-heeled beauty to coked-up hipsters, provided they’re not too sober.

voyager lounge photos

Afterparty: if by 5AM  you haven’t pulled, it’s time to move here.

Best afterparty spot in terms of trying to get girls. Pretty much no one is sober in there and savage gorilla game goes a long way. Lots of very hot and slutty-looking girls but it can be hard to tell apart who is looking for dick and who is just on drugs but not interested. If by 9-10am you haven’t pulled, it is probably better to surrender.

The hipster alternative for afterparties, where even more drugs are in play. Plenty of attractive girls there but you have to know how to work this type of club. A nicer atmosphere and better music but if you’re desperate to pull, you’ll probably go to Miks.

Weekday jokers: if you’re on the hunt for some sexy Russian girls during the week, here are two tips to make your life easier.

Chesterfield

Ladies night on Wednesdays means this place gets pretty packed with smashed teenagers and 6s and 7s. Don’t pull out the three-piece suit in here because it’s a “simpler” crowd. Definitely your best shot on Wednesdays.

If you haven’t pulled at Chesterfield, you can throw a Hail Mary and hit up Garage’s Black Music Wednesdays. Fills up really late but there are some cute Black Music groupies in here. Very small club. Thursday through Saturday they do afterparties and you have an excellent shot and swooping girls that are probably high.

Shishas Sferum

This is pretty much your only shot on Mondays and Tuesdays because they offer free or almost free drinks for women. A fairly low-class club where you should watch your drinks. As always the case in Moscow, there will be cute girls here on any day of the week but it’s nowhere near as good as on the weekend.

voyager lounge photos

In a nutshell, that is all you need to know about where to meet Moscow girls in nightlife. There are tons of options, and it all depends on what best fits your style, based on the type of girls that you’re looking for.

  • Capturing the Kremlin and central Moscow: the higher, the better

voyager lounge photos

Of course, pictures of the Kremlin shot from the Red Square are no doubt iconic and must-have, but they are taken by thousands of tourists every day and can hardly make a wow-effect on your friends on Instagram and other social networks.

Another problem with shooting from Red Square is that the photos do not fully represent the scale of the medieval fortress of Kremlin. So, you need to make some steps further and higher to catch the right shot. You’ll be surprised by the fact that the panoramic views of the Kremlin are pretty easy to get. We have four hints for you: Zaryadie, Ritz Carlton, Patriarch bridge, and Radisson riverboat.

If you want to not only make beautiful photos but also to learn something interesting about the history of Russia, we recommend an individual tour of the Kremlin. You can order it online here .

voyager lounge photos

First, go to Zaryadye, which is located right next to the Red Square, behind the St Basil’s Cathedral, on the closest Moscow river bank. The most impressive views over the Kremlin are unfolded from the so-called Flying bridge of Zaryadye and Glass Dome building in the back part of the park.

Zaryadye is the new place of attraction in Moscow. It’s a landscape park, opened in September 2017 by the Moscow government on the hill where the giant soviet hotel ‘Rossiya’ located before its demolition in the early 2000-s. As a bonus, you’ll get an incredible view over one of Stalin’s skyscrapers, located on the opposite bank of Moscow river — the so-called Vysotka at Kotelnicheskaya, used as a residence of many Russian famous people and officials.

  • The roof of the Ritz Carlton Hotel

This option is ok only in case if you’re ready to pay the average bar bill of over 2500 rubles (about $40). Visit the O2 Lounge Bar on the roof of the Ritz Carlton Hotel, where all the global celebrities take their Moscow pictures, from Angelina Jolie to Robert Downey Jr.

But such photo investments seem to pay off immediately. The deck of the bar makes an excellent panorama point for the Kremlin walls and towers, the Historical Museum, the Great Kremlin Palace, and the Kremlin cathedrals. All these landmarks are not too far away, which makes them perfectly recognizable, even in the background.

  • The Radisson riverboat

voyager lounge photos

This hint will be useful in case you’re traveling to Moscow in the cold season. River transportation in Moscow doesn't stop in winter. Many enclosed and heated tourist yachts with panoramic windows and ice-breaking equipment can be found in the Moscow River. For instance, one of the most recognizable is the flotilla Radisson.

Their route goes past all the main sights of pre-revolutionary and Soviet Moscow – from Stalin's skyscrapers (Ukraina hotel and Vysotka at Kotelnicheskaya) to the Kremlin and the Novodevichy Convent. It is possible to go out to the open deck and take photos of you and your family or friends against a backdrop of the city’s lights and their reflection in the river. The cruise lasts 2.5 hours. You can book a tour with a car roundtrip transfer from your hotel to the pier and back: book online here

  • Patriarch bridge

voyager lounge photos

The bridge is located further from the Kremlin, than Zaryadye or Ritz Carlton, so the Kremlin walls on your photos will look smaller. The brighter side of walking through the bridge is that you can do more fabulous pics of the Moscow river and city center landscapes. The Moscow river and the pretty recognizable giant statue of Peter the Great are ideally viewed from the bridge. Be prepared that it’s a famous and popular pedestrian area for tourists all over the world so the bridge may be crowded.

Also, the bridge is a part of a long promenade which leads from the Christ the Saviour Cathedral through the Balchug island to the opposite bank of the Moscow River, where another pedestrian area — Museon embankment — is ready to joy you with its cafes, cozy lawns and impressive views over the river flow, ducks and boats.

  • Moscow City

voyager lounge photos

The best spot to shoot the famous Moscow business downtown is located on the Taras Shevchenko embankment. To get there you need to come to the metro stations Vystavochnaya or Delovoi Tsentr, then go to the Bagration bridge (use the metro navigation, the path is tricky), cross the bridge — and voilà! You’ve reached the best spot for shooting, posing, sending selfies, and Instagramming.

  • Ponds and orangeries

voyager lounge photos

There are two ponds in Moscow, that deserve your attention in summer: the Chistye ponds (actually there is only one pond, but it’s worth it) and the pond in Gorky Park, which is full of small boats and catamarans. Both lakes are lost between the green alleys and are drowning in all the shades of green. Those are the perfect spots to catch the moment of peace amid the madness of big city life.

No other underground system in the world can boast such spectacular architecture – chandeliers, decorations, stucco, paintings on the walls – each station is individually designed. No wonder that Moscow residents love their metro. I will guide you through the bustle of one of the busiest subways in the world and show you the most beautiful stations Moscow city has.

This left its mark on Moscow, even if the USSR disintegrated more than a quarter of a century ago. The city streets are full of remnants of the communist regime and the Cold War. This is a walking tour where I will show you the most exciting places in Soviet Moscow: from the notorious KGB headquarters, also known as Lubyanka to the Karl Marx Monument to small hidden remains from the time of hammer and sickle. Daily Briefing: Protests overtake US campuses

voyager lounge photos

Campuses nationwide are grappling with growing unrest over the war in Gaza. Also in the news: Donald Trump's lawyers say the former president did not violate a gag order in his New York criminal trial. The Senate will begin voting on a $95 billion foreign aid package on Tuesday.

🙋🏼‍♀️ I'm Nicole Fallert , Daily Briefing author.  These are the three occasions when you shouldn't brush your teeth .

Here's the news to know Tuesday.

Students want divestment. What does that mean?

A wave of student-led protests have erupted at U.S. colleges and universities over the Israel-Hamas War, prompting school officials to take extreme measures to tamper-down an increasingly chaotic situation.

In the last 24 hours: Columbia University has suspended in-person classes. Dozens of students were arrested in protests at Yale and New York University. School officials closed Harvard Yard to the public. At NYU, demonstrators tussled with officers and chanted, "We will not stop, we will not rest. Disclose. Divest."

  • What do the students mean by "divest" ? Students are demanding that universities show more transparency in their investments and take money out of enterprises with links to Israel's war effort.
  • Jewish students say they don't feel safe and pro-Palestinian groups condemn school leaders for not protecting free speech.
  • The protests are spreading: Students at other Boston-area colleges, like MIT, Tufts and Emerson, have begun their own solidarity encampments, and the movement has also expanded to other prominent universities like Cal-Berkeley and Michigan.

Voyager 1 is 15 billion miles from home and broken

For the first time since November, NASA engineers restored contact with Voyager 1, a spacecraft 15 billion miles from home. Launched in 1977, Voyager 1 is now the farthest a human-made object has traveled from Earth. The glitch started when a computer problem aboard Voyager 1 corrupted the stream of science and engineering data the craft is sending to Earth, making it unreadable. Read more

Will Trump pay for violating a gag order?

The judge overseeing Donald Trump's criminal trial will consider on Tuesday prosecutors' request to fine the former president for violating a gag order barring him from talking publicly about certain people involved in the case and their families. Prosecutors say Trump violated the March order which prevents the former president from making public statements about the trial. Trump's lawyers disagree.

Pivotal foreign aid package heads to Senate

The Democratic-majority Senate is expected Tuesday to approve a $95 billion legislative package providing security assistance to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, over bitter objections from Republican hardliners. House Speaker Mike Johnson chose to ignore ouster threats by hardline members of his fractious majority and push forward the measure through the lower chamber over the weekend. The bill includes $60.84 billion in Ukraine funding as the nation struggles to fight off a two-year Russian invasion. Read more

Will a conservative Supreme Court rein in labor unions?

Global coffee giant Starbucks is asking the Supreme Court to require a stricter test for when courts can step in and protect union organizers who are fired or punished. The case concerns temporary injunctions requiring companies to rehire workers, which are particularly important when The National Labor Relations Board thinks a company is trying to illegally squelch budding union organizing campaigns. The agency wielded that tool often as Starbucks waged its own aggressive campaign against workers’ efforts to unionize. Labor sympathizers see the case as part of a corporate backlash to the success of the NLRB and to a rise in union organizing. Read more
