 Description

The Dirt King long travel kit was developed to drastically improve the vehicles off-road handling without compromising its day to day driving characteristics. This suspension system allows for 13” of travel and accepts up to 37” tires. The kit is compatible with 2WD models and 4WD models along with the purchase of extended axle shafts. Our upper and lower arms are designed with heavy duty Moog ball joints   which are low maintenance and easily serviceable . The lower arms are tabbed to accommodate for coilovers, bypasses, bump stops, and limit straps. They also utilize the factory inner bushings for a factory like feel on road while still allowing for enough articulation off-road. Another unique feature only found on our kit is progressive steering stops to limit the steering angle throughout the suspension cycle. This prevents premature wear on the CVs and tie rods at full compression or full extension. This kit is CAD designed, thoroughly tested, and made in America resulting in a product we’re proud to put our name on!

Shipping & Delivery Dirt King ships their products within the United States and Internationally. Most products ship via UPS or USPS. Orders that exceed $500 require a signature confirmation. On bulk orders contact Dirt King for a freight quote. The customer is responsible for import taxes and fees on international shipments.

Damaged or Missing Parts In an instance where you receive a damaged package a claim must be made with Dirt King. The claim can be submitted by sending an email to [email protected] containing photos of the damaged packages and damaged products. The email must also include your order number as well. Do not discard any of the original packaging or try installing the products.

While every precaution is taken there could be a case where you are missing parts. If this happens please send an email to [email protected] with your order number, list of missing parts, photo of the package or packages, and a photo of the quality control tag located on the back of the box.

If the shipping carrier losses your package please contact Dirt King. A claim will be filled with the shipping carrier. Unfortunately, we do not have much control over this situation and must wait for the carrier to process the claim.

Freight Shipping The customer must contact Dirt King to arrange for freight shipping. Dirt King will palletize the order and the customer can deal directly with the freight carrier if preferred. The shipment can be delivered to a home or business. The customer must be present for the delivery to inspect and sign for the package. Before signing confirm that you received all items listed on the packing slip and nothing is damaged. If you receive damaged parts or are missing parts leave a note on the bill of landing and sign it. Make sure the driver is aware of the situation and signs your copy of the bill of landing with the noted damages or missing parts. Once you have taken possession of the package file a claim with Dirt King by sending an email to [email protected]. Please include your order number, copy of your bill of landing, and photos of the damaged items or list of missing parts. Do not discard any of the original packaging or try installing the products. Dirt King will do everything possible to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

• Returns are only accepted within 30 days.
• Product must have been purchased from us and not a dealer.
• A 3% processing fee is deducted from all refunds.
• On shipped orders   a 7% restocking fee and a  3% processing fee is deducted from all refunds.
• Products such as bumpers, hitches, and bed cages that have optional powder coat added are subject to a 7% restocking fee and a 3% processing fee. If the order is canceled before the product is powder coated then the 7% restocking fee can be waived.
• On shipped orders we are not responsible for return shipping or refunding the original shipping amount.
• Parts must be returned in the original package and condition as they were sent.
• No returns on items that have been damaged or installed.
• Refund will be issued once the parts have been received and inspected.
• Custom products are non refundable.
• Crypto orders will be refunded the same coin amount that was paid originally.

All products sold or manufactured by Dirt King are intended for off-road use only. Our products are strictly engineered and tested and are not to be modified from their original design in any way. Welding should always be done at a qualified and certified facility only. Customer assumes all liability in assuring that parts are installed correctly, maintained, and not modified or altered in any way. Dirt King is not responsible or liable for any accidents, injuries, or deaths that may occur from the use of any products offered. Suspension modifications may change the dynamics and stability characteristics of the vehicle. Ensuring prompt wheel alignment and ADAS recalibration after suspension modifications is critical and the sole responsibility of the customer.

When I posted this I hadn't made a decision yet but I have the HCR kit on order now.  

I would be nice to be able to read a review on each one .Would like to know the handling differance on one that increases length from front to rear and one that doesn't.  

Im running the fireball kit like quite of few others and it handles amazing. It is a well built kit with all quality parts. For the price, you can't beat it!!!! I debated on $8k kits and I'm glad i made the decision to go the route i did. 3" of added wheelbase and 7" of width

I went FB also, I been eyeing this kit since the very first kit they fabricated and their is nothing but great reviews. I haven’t had a chance to try it, but my shock guy has done several FB kits and also several different brands, FB is at the top of his list!. Shit for the price you can’t beat it!! You can have a great long travel kit with shock work for around 5 grand.  

I am with the last three guys on fire ball. have yet to install it but hope to real soon !

Cognito all the way......some things are worth spending the money on, and for me long travel is one of them. Upgraded hardware included in the kit (no need to swap everything out), Summers Bros axles, steel braided brake lines, a mix of boxed/round arms, perfect geometry and tough enough to be punished in the worst of the desert and dunes. :tears_of_joy:  

Cory, do summer bros axles come with joints and are they 300m?  

HCR has had nothing but issues on the geometry with the yxz. I think the shock tower is tearing out of all the yxzs. Every person i know and know of who ran the HCR, ended up blowing it apart and went with FB. I hope this is not the case for your buddy. Good luck! If cognito wasn’t so damn wide i would have gone that route but i have a brand new toyhauler that is now torn up from the 3.5 per side let alone another .5 per side from cognito. It’s already trying to get my yxz into trailer so no thanks on the added pain and suffering. And that fb kit is damn strong. It’s honestly more about your shock tuning and valving and spring rate then it is about width, but that +7 inches is absolutely the best when 3/4 gear 50+ transitioning big ass bowls in glamis!!! I dont think the front shock tower has anything to do with what longtravel kit you have its more how hard you push the car and tire size. I tore mine out with stock suspension. I will also be relocating both upper shock mounts to work for my setup. I think HCR is a good company that will stand behind the product they put out. I will be butting this kit thru some of the roughest conditions in the 2018 BITD series so I will know soon enough how it holds up.  

Oh man! BITD!? That’s crazy!!!! That is such a nice it to put through that race! Wow your either very wealthy or very crazy, but either way i like it [emoji23][emoji1598] that hcr kit was designed for sand, it’s real light, just be careful my Friend!!! It’s definitely a great company just like you said but i just have my concerns about those big ole Kings on the stock towers but u said your moding that so that is good! I purchased 3 flavors of cocktails in this kit as part of putting together my own travel kit for when I'd like a cocktail on the train. Looking forward to using one (or more) of them the next time I'm taking a train trip.

I bought a couple of these to include as stocking stuffers and they were hit. I'm told they made for delish cocktails and were very easy to make. I will be buying more as gifts and trying them out myself!

World News | More Americans are ending up in Russian jails. Prospects for their release are unclear

TALLINN, Estonia (AP) — One was a journalist on a reporting trip . Another was attending a wedding. Yet another was a dual national returning to visit family.

All are U.S. citizens now behind bars in Russia on various charges.

Arrests of Americans in Russia are increasingly common with relations sinking to Cold War lows. Washington accuses Moscow of using U.S. citizens as bargaining chips, but Russia insists they all broke the law.

While high-profile prisoner exchanges have occurred, the prospects of swaps are unclear.

“It seems that since Moscow itself has cut off most of the communication channels and does not know how to restore them properly without losing face, they are trying to use the hostages. … At least that’s what it looks like,” said Boris Bondarev, a former Russian diplomat who quit after Moscow invaded Ukraine in 2022.

Who is known to be in Russian custody?

EVAN GERSHKOVICH — The 32-year-old Wall Street Journal reporter faces trial Wednesday on espionage charges that he, his employer and the U.S. government deny. He was detained in March 2023 while reporting in the city of Yekaterinburg and accused of spying. Russia alleges Gershkovich was “gathering secret information” at the CIA’s behest about a facility that produces and repairs military equipment. It provided no evidence to support the accusations.

PAUL WHELAN — The 54-year-old corporate security executive from Michigan was arrested in 2018 in Moscow where he was attending a friend’s wedding, convicted two years later of espionage, and sentenced to 16 years in prison. He maintains his innocence, saying the charges were fabricated.

TRAVIS LEAKE — The musician was arrested in 2023 on drug charges. An Instagram page describes him as the singer for the band Lovi Noch (Seize the Night). Court officials have said he is a former paratrooper.

MARC FOGEL — The Moscow teacher was sentenced to 14 years in prison, also on drug charges. The Interfax news agency said Fogel taught at the Anglo-American School in Moscow and had worked at the U.S. Embassy. Interfax cited court officials as saying Fogel has admitted guilt.

GORDON BLACK — The 34-year-old staff sergeant stationed at Fort Cavazos, Texas, was convicted June 19 in Vladivostok of stealing and making threats against his girlfriend, and was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison. He had flown to Russia from his U.S. military post in South Korea without authorization and was arrested in May after she accused him of stealing from her, according to U.S. and Russian authorities.

ROBERT WOODLAND — Woodland, a dual national, is on trial in Moscow on drug- trafficking charges. Russian media reported his name matches a U.S. citizen interviewed in 2020 who said he was born in the Perm region in 1991 and adopted by an American couple at age 2. He said he traveled to Russia to find his mother and eventually met her on a TV show. Woodland was charged with trafficking drugs as part of an organized group — punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

ALSU KURMASHEVA — Kurmasheva , a dual U.S.-Russian national, was arrested in 2023 in her hometown of Kazan. The Prague-based editor for the U.S. government-funded Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty’s Tatar-Bashkir service was visiting her ailing mother. She faces multiple charges, including not self-reporting as a “foreign agent” and spreading false information about the Russian military.

KSENIA KHAVANA — Khavana , 33, was arrested in Yekaterinburg in February on treason charges, accused of collecting money for Ukraine’s military. Independent Russian news outlet Mediazona identified her by her maiden name of Karelina, and said she had U.S. citizenship after marrying an American. She returned to Russia from Los Angeles to visit family. The rights group Pervy Otdel said the charges stem from a $51 donation to a U.S. charity that helps Ukraine.

DAVID BARNES — An engineer from Texas, Barnes was arrested while visiting his sons in Russia, where their mother had taken them. His supporters say the woman made baseless claims of sexual abuse that already had been discredited by Texas investigators but he was convicted in Russia anyway and sentenced to prison.

What’s the process for negotiations?

Gershkovich and Whelan have gotten the most attention, with the State Department designating both as wrongfully detained. The designation is applied to only a small subset of Americans jailed by foreign countries.

Those cases go to a special State Department envoy for hostage affairs, who tries to negotiate their release. They must meet certain criteria, including a determination the arrest came solely because the person is a U.S. national or part of an effort to influence U.S. policy or extract concessions from the government.

The U.S. successfully negotiated swaps in 2022 for WNBA star Brittney Griner and Marine veteran Trevor Reed — both designated as wrongfully detained. Moscow got arms dealer Viktor Bout , who was serving a 25-year sentence, and pilot Konstantin Yaroshenko, serving 20 years for cocaine trafficking.

It’s unclear how many Americans are jailed in Russia or if negotiations are in the works for them.

Kurmasheva’s husband, Pavel Butorin, told The Associated Press after her arrest he hoped the U.S. government would use “every avenue and every means available to it” to win her release, including designating her as wrongfully detained.

Is the West holding anyone Russia wants?

In December, the State Department said it had made a significant offer for Gershkovich and Whelan but Russia rejected it.

Officials did not give details, although Russia has been said to be seeking Vadim Krasikov , serving a life sentence in Germany in 2021 for the killing of Zelimkhan “Tornike” Khangoshvili, a Georgian citizen of Chechen descent who had fought Russian troops in Chechnya and later claimed asylum in Germany.

Beyond that, Russia has stayed silent. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov says such swaps “must be carried out in absolute silence.”

Historically, when relations are better, “the exchanges seem to be smoother,” said Nina Khrushcheva, a professor of international affairs at the New School in New York and the great-granddaughter of Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev.

She cited prisoner swaps between the USSR and Chile in the 1970s, as well as those with the U.S. and Germany shortly after Mikhail Gorbachev took office in the 1980s involving dissidents Vladimir Bukovsky and Natan Sharansky.

Ultimately, the decision “is only in Putin’s hands,” Khrushcheva said.

In Gershkovich’s case, an exchange might also involve concessions, possibly related to Ukraine, said Sam Greene of the Center for European Policy Analysis.

“Even if the immediate reason to get people around the (negotiating) table is Evan and a prisoner exchange, that allows them to get right up to the line and to say: ‘OK, we’ve got 98% of the deal, but if you really want to get this done, there’s this other thing we’d really like to talk about,’” like sanctions or another Ukraine-related issue, he said.

“The Kremlin is perfectly happy to hold onto Evan as long as it possibly can. And so its incentive is to get as much for him as possible,” Greene said.

I just spoke with Bobby about doing custom upper shock/bypass mount (With uca mounts) for the colorado using the BK arms, so I can run a proper ADS racing 8 inch coilover and Bypass.... And also a set of new axles for the longer travel... Cant wait to see what he comes up with.... not so excited about pricing... but pgotta pay to play

Fire kills 8 in office building near Moscow

At least eight people died Monday in a fire in an office building near Moscow, including two who jumped from the building to escape the flames, authorities said.

State news agency Tass said the fire in Fryazino, about 25 kilometers (15 miles) northeast of the Russian capital, was caused by a malfunctioning electrical system. Videos shared on social media show thick plumes of smoke rising from windows throughout the multistory office building.

The regional governor Andrei Vorobyev said in a post on the social platform Telegram that oxygen tanks stored in the building exploded, causing some ceilings to collapse. Two people died when they jumped from the building and six more died inside, Vorobyev said.

He said offices in the building were rented by 30 different companies, including the Platan Research Institute, which produces electronics.

The Platan Research Institute is among several Russian companies sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury for meddling in foreign elections, carrying out malicious cyber operations and undermining security abroad. The Treasury listing said the Platan Research Institute is based at the same address as the building that caught fire.

The website for the town of Fryazino — which touts itself as a center of scientific excellence — said the Platan Research Institute is the “leader, sole developer and manufacturer,” in Russia of a number of “unique devices,” including lasers, flat liquid crystal screens, video modules and white-emitting LED lighting.

Russian newspaper Kommersant was more descriptive, saying the Institute develops equipment used by Russia’s military, including in fighter jets, bombers and helicopters, as well as in missiles, “all types of nuclear submarine missile carriers,” long-range radar and anti-aircraft missile systems.

Kommersant said the company was created to develop electron beam devices for radar and space technology, mainly for defense purposes.

Ruselectronics, the Platan Research Institute's parent company, denied that the company was affected by Monday's blaze. In a statement published by Tass, state-owned Ruselectronics insisted the building had passed to private ownership in the 1990s and that the Institute was no longer a tenant.

Independent Russian media suggested the company had recently moved to a neighboring building.
