I took their Beijing tour back a few years ago and loved it!! I still can't believe I saw so much of China in just 3 weeks! The hostels were actually really nice, and the experiences were incredible. Guides were all super friendly and had fun recommendations. When meals weren't provided, we'd get a group dinner together which was super fun. At times I was the most exhausted I've ever been, but the guides were super motivated and kept the energy up. I know people who have gone on more expensive tours of China and didn't get to do the cool stuff we did like camping on the great wall of china or training with shaolin warriors.

The tour guides and organization were very good. We all had a great experience. However, I would stay one night less in Xi'an and extend the time and activities in Guilin. The extra fee to be paid for travelling alone is excessive.

Ben the booking agent was extremely attentive and quick to respond to all my requests and concerns. The guides were excellent, The meals at local restaurants very excellent. Meals at tourist restaurants were not marginal. The hotels were clean, The customer service at the hotels for the price was marginal. The staff did not speak English, never helped with the luggage, we had to call for toilet paper, they did not know what an iron was and then said they did not have irons at a 4-5 star hotel.

All the tour guides were extremely friendly, well informed and very keen to fulfill all wishes. The hotels were clean and well maintained. The hotels were centrally located for exploring on your own. I felt very well looked after, learned a lot about China and can only recommend this trip.

The tour was absolutely wonderful. The translators were very knowledgeable, spoke excellent English, and allowed us to maintain our pace. Sometimes we were slow and making videos, other times we walked at a quick pace. We were treated wonderfully and always felt safe. After hours, the taxis are cheap and with written notes from our translators, we were able to explore on our own safely.

Day 1: Beijing, Arrival

Ni Hao! Your China tour begins from Beijing, a dynamic and modern city in China dotted with historical sites for you to explore. Meet your tour guide at the airport and be escorted to the hotel by private vehicle. The rest of this day is free for you to relax in the hotel or stroll in this fascinating city.

Day 2: Beijing, City Highlights Tour

After breakfast, start your Beijing exploration with Tiananmen Square. From there, enter the Forbidden City and admire the imperial palaces that 24 Chinese emperors in the past 600 years had lived in.

In the afternoon, take a leisurely walk at the exquisitely built Temple of Heaven, which served as an altar used only by the emperors to perform solemn rites.

Optional: If you'd like more recreation for tonight, the Chinese Kung Fu Show is heartily recommended.

Day 3: Beijing, Great Wall Tour

Today is highlighted by an exciting trip to one of China's iconic sites - Great Wall at Mutianyu section (round trip cable car included). As a World Cultural Heritage Site, it once served as a northern barrier throughout centuries to what is now Beijing. The wind walls on the mountain ranges offer an impressive landscape for everyone there.

After a stop in a jade gallery, continue to visit the Sacred Road to trace the path of an imperial ancestor about worship ceremony in the Ming Dynasty.

Day 4: Beijing - Xi'an, Summer Palace

This morning, escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a while and retreat to the Summer Palace as Chinese emperors do. As you're walking through the gardens, bridges and halls, you'll get to know why the emperors like the place.

If time permits, you may experience an optional rickshaw ride in the hutongs (ancient alleys) to get in touch with the old Beijinger's lifestyle.

In the afternoon, you will take a high-speed train to Xi'an. Upon arrival, your personal guide will meet and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free at your own leisure.

Day 5: Xi'an, Terracotta Warriors & City Highlights

Your first stop in historic Xi'an is definitely the Terracotta Warriors. The discovery of over 8,000 life-size clay soldiers and horses, which dates back to 2,200 ago, has left the world amazed. Next, find out how these astonishing clay sculptures were made at the Xi'an Art Ceramics Factory.

After lunch, roam around the Xi'an City Wall, which is the only fortification that remains an unbroken rectangular circuit you can see today. Bicycles are available for rental there and it's popular to have a bike ride on the bumpy cobblestones. Today's tour wraps up with the Small Wild Goose Pagoda.

Optional: Activities like a Chinese calligraphy class and the Tang Dynasty Show are both recommended if you'd like to explore deeper about China's culture.

Day 6: Xi'an - Guilin, Muslim Street & Shadow Puppet Show

After breakfast, tour to the most popular food street in Xi'an - Muslim Street and Gao's Courtyard where you can also see the shadow puppet show. After the tour, you will be transferred to the airport for flight to Guilin.

Guilin, reputed as the most scenic city in China, is a charming place surrounded by the crystal river and lakes all year around.

Day 7: Guilin - Yangshuo, Li River Cruise

This morning, you'll embark on a leisurely Li River Cruise. As the boat sails downstream, you'll take in the unlimited fresh air, feel the river breeze, pass by arrays of karst hills, and spot water buffaloes with local villagers.

After disembarkation in the early afternoon, transfer to your hotel in Yangshuo. Enjoy exploring on your own or you might want to sign up the optional cooking class or countryside tour we provide.

Optional: If you'd like more activities tonight, the show of Impression Sanjie Liu is heartily recommended.

Day 8: Guilin - Shanghai, Elephant Trunk Hill & Reed Flute Cave

After a nice stay in Yangshuo, you will be driven back to Guilin (1.5 hours) to tour the symbol of the city, Elephant Trunk Hill, and a pearl museum; followed by a visit to Reed Flute Cave which is famed as "A Natural Palace of Art".

Later, drive you to the airport for the flight to Shanghai - China's most cosmopolitan city which is the vibrant pulse of new China blending 21st-century architecture with old-world character.

Day 9: Shanghai, Yu Garden & Shanghai History Tour

Your Shanghai tour starts with a visit to the Shanghai Museum, where you can have a piece of basic knowledge about the past, present, and future of Shanghai through the collections and the high-tech interactive facilities inside. Next, roam through the Yu Garden and the nearby Yuyuan Market in the old town of Shanghai.

Proceed to a silk workshop and watch the progress of silk-making. Later in the day, enjoy a walk at the Bund and the former French Concession.

Optional: A night cruise on the Huangpu River and an eye-popping acrobatic show are available tonight to make the most of your time in Shanghai.

Day 10: Shanghai, Departure

After breakfast, you will get a bird's eye view of Shanghai from the Jinmao Tower before driving to the airport for your onward flight.

Beijing – Tiananmen Square

After breakfast, set out with your guide to discover the iconic imperial treasures of China’s massive capital, Beijing. Stand in Tiananmen Square, one of the largest public squares in the world.

After our tour, you may explore the city at your own pace or instead, you may wish to take part in an optional excursion to enhance your experience. Meals : Breakfast Accommodation : Ramada Beijing North Hotel 4* or similar

We’ll enter through the imposing walls of the palace complex, once the domain of the Ming Dynasty, for an exclusive tour of its courtyards and lanes. This area was considered by the emperor to be a divine place, and as such entry was exclusive to the imperial family and their court, hence the name, the Forbidden City. This is certainly not the case today: it now plays host to some 14 million visitors per year. The Forbidden City also now houses the National Palace Museum – one of the most comprehensive museums in all of China

Beijing Great Wall and Jade Carving Workshop

Today’s excursion is one of the most anticipated of our trip – a visit to the Great Wall of China . Often recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, this UNESCO World Heritage site is a staggering feat and a bucket list destination. We will be touring the Juyongguan section, one of the three most famous passes along the Great Wall. Located 60km from downtown Beijing, it used be a stronghold that protected the northern access routes to the city. Here we’ll get a chance to climb a portion of this architectural marvel, which stretches an astonishing 21,000km. En route back to the city we’ll visit one of the largest jade exhibitions in China and learn all about China’s most precious and celebrated stone. Upon returning to Beijing, the rest of the day is yours to spend at leisure or to participate in one of our optional excursions. This tour will take you around the intricate winding hutongs to admire the old courtyards. They are maze-like and deep and exactly as they were a long time ago. You are invited to visit a local family’s house to experience authentic Beijing life.

Beijing Bullet Train to Wuxi Sightseeing

After breakfast, you will begin our day at a Chinese herbal institute, where we will have the opportunity to learn about traditional Chinese medicine. Later you will pay a visit to the Temple of Heaven which is seen as the most holy of Beijing’s imperial temples. It has been described as “a masterpiece of architecture and landscape design”. Morning is the best time to visit it. Asia Vacation Group offers you a “ 3 instalment payment plan”, you will be required to settle a small deposit followed by a series of instalments when you select to book your departure tour

• First payment:  You will be required to settle  $300 per person deposit online through our website link or bank transfer option.
• Second payment: You will be collected $600 per person after 7 days deposit.
• Final payment:  You will be required to settle the final payment in 120 days before your departure.

Remark: A f ull payment is requested at your booking if your departure is under 120 days before your departure. 

And you will have a 7-day cooling off period to change of your mind to receive a full refund. Please refer to “Flexible Cancellation” section.

Flexible Cancellation: If you change your mind within 7 days of making your booking online, you can request a refund of your initial deposit payment. Once your purchase date falls outside of the 7-day period, our standard terms and conditions will apply.

In this packages, we will use some different airlines such as: China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, … or similar (20/23kg for checked baggage per passenger and 7kg hand luggage per passenger, 01-piece check-in baggage).

• Some flights will require a minimum of 1 transit (maximum 2).
• All tickets will include 23 kilos checked baggage per person, along with 7 kilos of hand luggage.
• Despite the airlines baggage allowance, we recommend travelling with 20 kilos per person due to restrictions with internal flights (where applicable), as well as coach and train transportation. Also, you will be responsible for handling your luggage at all times as the services of porters is not included. If travelling over this amount, you will be liable for any excess baggage fees enforced by the airline, payable direct.
• Once ticketed, flights are non-refundable. Any changes will be subject to the airline rules, Airline change fees and an Asia Vacation Group change fee of $250 per person.
• Full names as per passport (including all middle names) are required. Any error in the names submitted will be subject to an Asia Vacation Group name change fee of $150 plus any applicable fees charged by the airline, or the ticket may be non-refundable with the purchase of a new ticket required.
• Any airline schedule changes or cancellations are beyond our control. It is important that you, as the customer, stay up-to-date with the latest airline schedule information prior to your departure. If a schedule change results in extended transits or an earlier/later departure from your destination, any additional accommodation or alternative arrangements will be at the traveler’s expense.
• Any airline ‘extras’ such as pre-allocated seating is at your own arrangement (additional charges apply)
• After booking, the price payable may be subject to change as a result of factors beyond the control of Asia Vacation Group. Physical Requirements A reasonable level of fitness is required but it’s more about spending time on your feet rather than covering large distances. You’ll be getting on and off coaches and boats, walking around the sights and climbing some steps.

Tipping A friendly reminder that tipping is not included in your package. Please be advised that tipping for tour guides, drivers and bellmen are required and will be collected by our tour guide when you arrives in China. Day 1 Hometown - Bangkok, Thailand

Board an international flight bound for Bangkok, Thailand. Spend the night aboard as our flight cross the International Date Line.

Day 2 Arrive in Bangkok, Thailand

Welcome to Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand!

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our local tour guide at the airport and transfer to your luxury hotel. Time to rest, relax and acclimate to your new time zone.

Day 3 Bangkok (Breakfast)

After Breakfast, we visit one of the Bangkok’s well-known sights at Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha), the oldest and largest temple in the city, with its astonishing giant Reclining Buddha, over 150 feet long and almost 40 feet high.

Then we drive through bustling Chinatown, Bangkok´s largest Flower Market at Pak Klong Talat, via Royal Avenue where most of the Government offices are located and the King’s Palace before returning to your hotel.

Day 4 Bangkok (Breakfast)

Ride the boat along the canal to the colorful Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, and observe how the ancient trading of wares is conducted between hundreds of local farmers and villagers aboard fully loaded with all kinds of products including fruits, vegetables, dry goods, and freshly cooked food on the small Sampan boats.

After lunch, transfer back to the hotel and spend the afternoon as you wish.

Day 5 Bangkok- River Kwai (Breakfast)

Continue to Kanchanaburi and visit the War Cemetery, the resting-place for over 6,000 Allied prisoners.

Then take a walk over the stone bridge at the River Kwai, one of the most famous rivers in the world. Visit the Elephant World where you will be welcomed by the camp’s volunteers who will give you a brief introduction to the camp and the program of the day.

After the briefing, start the day by feeding the elephants, a great way to get closer to the animals and here the elephants can enjoy themselves in their own natural environment.

Then, join various activities according to the elephants’ needs on the day of the visit.

Day 6 River Kwai (Breakfast)

A free day today for you to explore the city on your own.

Day 7 River Kwai - Ayutthaya (Breakfast)

Continue our journey to Thailand’s former capital city, Ayutthaya, which was founded in 1350 and became Thailand’s second capital city.

In the center of the city lies the impressive Ayutthaya Historical Park, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit Chai Wattanaram Temple, one of Ayutthaya’s best-known temples and a major tourist attraction.

Day 8 Ayutthaya - Bangkok (Breakfast)

After breakfast, we head back to Bangkok’s most famous landmarks including the Grand Palace which was built in the 18th century as a royal residence for the king and his court.

Follow this by visiting Wat Phra Kaew, which is home to the iconic Emerald Buddha, with its brightly colored buildings, golden spires and gorgeous mosaics.

Day 9 Bangkok (Breakfast)

Today is free to spend on your own.

Day 10 Bangkok - Hometown (Breakfast)

Bid farewell to Thailand and board your return flight back to your hometown today, or extend it with a side trip to Phuket, Chiangmai, or another Asian destination such as Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, Luang Prabang in Laos or Saigon in Vietnam.

China’s tourists are traveling again but they are spending less than before COVID as economic worries keep their wallets shut

Chinese tourists hit the road in greater numbers during a recent five-day Labor Day holiday but kept a tight grip on their wallets, reflecting still-weak sentiment in the world’s second-largest economy .

Travelers made 28.2% more trips but spending only rose 13.5% from the 2019 break, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism said in a  statement  Monday. This translates to a 11.5% drop in spending for each traveler over the holiday ending Sunday, according to banks including Societe Generale, Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Citigroup Inc.

“Spending per head softened and was again below the pre-pandemic level, owing partly to more tourist flows towards lower-tier cities, and suggesting continued consumption downgrading,” said Goldman economists including Lisheng Wang in a note late Monday, adding that more policy support is needed to sustain the recovery of the services sector. The 2019 holiday was one day shorter.

The figures add to evidence showing Chinese households remain cautious with consumption despite a recent rebound in economic growth driven by a pickup in industrial activity. Less than one in four residents wanted to spend more while an growing share of the urban population wanted to save in the first quarter, according to a  survey  by the People’s Bank of China.

Travelers made a total of 20.7 million trips by rail across the country on May 1, a new high for any single day on record, state broadcaster China Central Television  reported  late Sunday, citing government data.

The holiday season also showed a  shift  in how Chinese travelers spend since the country reopened from pandemic isolation. While big cities like Beijing and Shanghai remained popular, many more opted for cheaper destinations and small towns, online travel agency Trip.com Group said in a Sunday  statement .

“Lower-tier market made a relaxing holiday possible for tourists, and they had better value for money as accommodation and dining costs spiked in tier-1 and tier-2 cities during the break,” Wang Yalei, an analyst with Trip.com, said in the statement.

Social media accounts promoting tourism in  small towns  have blossomed as tourists look for cheaper,  off-the-beaten-path  attractions. China’s expanding high-speed rail network and rising car ownership have also enabled travelers to get to more places within hours.

Bookings for hotels and tourist spots in tier-3 or lower-ranked cities in the country’s northwest and west more than doubled during the break from the same period a year earlier, according to data released by Tongcheng Travel Holdings, another tourism agency.

Inbound and outbound tourism also gained momentum during the holiday as China restored more air routes and  expanded  visa-free arrangements to more countries, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism said. Chinese travelers made 1.9 million trips abroad while 1.8 million visitors entered the country, it said, without providing last year’s numbers.

The US, Australia and the UK were the main long-haul destinations and Hong Kong, Macau, Southeast Asia, Japan and South Korea were the most popular for short-distance trips, according to Trip.com. Middle Eastern countries including Oman, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait saw more than 300% surge in bookings, it said.
