Valerie Manghir

I’m honestly speechless. This company was amazing from start to finish. Customer service was so responsive in helping me with all of my questions. They made the whole process seamless. I had a party of 24 people for the paddle boat and the crew was phenomenal! Ryan was our party host who went above and b eyond to make sure we had an amazing time. The other crew members did an amazing job as well and the captain was great! Nothing short of a good time and nothing but absolutely amazing things to say about this company and its hard workers. Book this boat. You will NOT regret it! Thank you for making my birthday one for the books!!

Had a great time with friends on the boat! A group of us went for our friend’s birthday and ended up having the whole boat to ourselves. Cal and Chris made our experience so much more fun! Definitely would come back on next time we’re down here.

Had a great time on the boat for my daughter’s Bachelorette party! 13 party girls and Captain Steve handled it like a champ! He played great music for us. Being on the boat was a fun and different experience. Vicky also was very friendly, customer-friendly, and answered all questions we had. Overall very fun time made some good memories 💃🏼

What is the Paddle Pub?

It’s a 14-person pedal-powered pontoon boat, with a USCG certified master captain at the helm. Perfect for pub crawls, birthday celebrations, bachelor/bachelorette parties, company outings, sightseeing, themed nights out- the possibilities are endless! A minimum of 6 pedalers is necessary to power the Paddle Pub.  There is an onboard motor and bathroom as well.

What all is included in the price? *

booze cruise portland

How much does a cycle boat cost?

A private tour has a flat rate starting as low as $499.00. Mixer tickets, where you can buy individual seats, starting at $35/person. Prices may vary depending on what day of the week you choose to book your event. Special events are charged by the hour. Make sure you book your tour well in advance, as we are often sold out on popular time-slots up to a month in advance!

Is there a bathroom onboard?

Yes, there is a bathroom!

Where do we board the Paddle Pub?

What is the parking situation like.

There is a parking lot available on the southwest corner closest to the marina office. Here is a Google Maps link . We highly recommend using ride-share services such as Uber or Lyft.

Can we drink on board?

You may, but you have to follow the rules. No glass or hard liquor (even if the glass only stays in the ice chest). All alcohol is BYOB – bring your favorite canned beer, cider, seltzer, and wine.  Alcoholic beverages must remain on board at all times. Traditionally ice is not needed but you are more than welcome to bring your own for the built-in cooler area at the bar on the Paddle Pub. You are also free to bring food onboard.

Can we get out and swim during the tour?

Unfortunately No, we do not offer a swim tour at this location.

Isn’t it hard to pedal?

Water tends to be very flat, so it’s not difficult at all.  In fact, the light exercise helps make the experience. Plus, we have an auxiliary motor.  We have had groups of all 70+ seniors pedal just fine. If they can do it, you can do it!!!

What if it rains?

Paddle Pub operates rain or shine! If it’s going to rain, we recommend bringing rain jackets and/or ponchos. It’s still a lot of fun- think of it as an adventure. We only cancel tours if there are unsafe conditions, in which case you will receive a credit or refund. There is also a fully canopy roof covering the entire vessel should it rain that day.

Do we need to bring coolers? What about ice?

Paddle Pub has a built-in cooler in the bar area. Ice in most cases is not needed, but you are more than welcome to bring your own if you’d like.

Are people under the age of 21 allowed on board?

Yes, but they will receive an “X”  on each hand and cannot drink while on board.  Riders under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present and a liability waiver must be signed by their guardian.  There is a minimum age of (13) to ride the Paddle Pub.

Is there a weight limit for riders?

Yes.  Unfortunately, due to the nature of the vessels, customers over 300 pounds will not be able to comfortably ride the Paddle Pub.

How do I reschedule/cancel my tour?

Paddle Pub and Trolley Pub now offer trip insurance, which will allow you flexibility in the case your plans change, or if the tour needs to be canceled due to the inclement weather.

Trip insurance will also allow you to receive a full refund in the event of a Severe Weather Warning from the National Weather Service during the time of your scheduled tour results in a cancellation on our end.  You may also voluntarily cancel your tour for any reason up to 7 days prior to your tour for a full refund.

To purchase trip insurance, simply select the add on “Trip Insurance” during checkout. Please note that for mixer tours, you will need to select the number of tickets you would like to insure to cover all the tickets.

Without trip insurance, all sales are final – no exceptions.  In the case a tour needs to be canceled on our end in the event of severe weather and you do not have trip insurance, you will receive a credit for a future tour at any TourScale location (Trolley Pub, Paddle Pub, Tiki Pub) in the country.  Currently, we have tours in over 30 cities across the US.

Ahoy Portland! Let’s take it to the water! BrewBarge is Portland’s only pedal powered, 14 person vessel on the beautiful Willamette River. Bring your brews, tunes and sunscreen for this unique excursion. Each cruise lasts an hour and a half, how far we go is up to you! So grab a growler, grind the gears and let’s cruise the river.

Portland's Best Pedal-Powered Booze Cruise Is on the River

The brewbarge is portland’s very first paddle-powered pontoon bar..

booze cruise portland

What's better than drunkenly pedaling through Northwest Portland on a beer- and people-powered bar with 14 of your best friends, bridesmaids, or tipsy officemates? You know this one: doing the same thing, but on a boat.

The BrewBarge is Portland's very first paddle-powered pontoon bar. It's a new sister business from the folks behind BrewCycle , the city's premier pedal-powered brewery crawl.

booze cruise portland

A 14-passenger vessel that sails the Willamette for an hour and a half each trip, the BrewBarge permits each patron to self-provide up to 32 ounces of beer or cider—soon available from a growler fill station at the Dock—and sails virtually every day this summer. Check brewcycle.com for times.

It's kind of goofy, you might have to pee, and there's no way to avoid your boss's awkward questions when you're in the middle of a body of water on a raft together. But you'll be drinking craft beer in the middle of a damn river, and that's a tough feeling to beat, regardless of the circumstances.

Five-Star Reviews on TripAdvisor!

We chartered the boat to kick out my sisters bachelorette weekend in town. It was so much fun. Than, our captain, was great is helping us take photos and letting us play whatever music on the boat. We saw seals right off the peir! It was an amazing start to the weekend everyone loved it.

I went on Maine BayCycle for the first time a few years ago when it first opened, and had the best experience, but last night sealed the deal for us. We were a total of 14 people, including our group of 7, and had the best time out on the ocean with our Captain. The experience is something you could never get from any other boat tour or water activity in Portlan

We had a large group of us, 12, and it was the best time of our whole trip! It was wild and the captain didn’t mind at all! We loved being able to bring our own drinks. We even asked if we could pay for another half hour so we could do it longer but unfortunately the time slots with the next group was too close. Best time ever!

We were very impressed and had a memorable evening peddling out in Casco Bay! Even though there were only 6 of us, we were able to comfortably peddle our way around. Bring your own drinks and music and enjoy the ride! Even better if you can catch good weather and a sunset. We will be back!

“ A floating St. Patrick’s Day that we loved! Truly the best in Portland! “

“Why confine your St. Patrick’s Day shenanigans to a bar, when you can hit the water and have all that beautiful Northwest greenery rolling by as opposed to, say, the normal St. Patrick’s Day views (usually variously angry people in ridiculous hats barfing on things). Enjoy nosh from the bistro food bar and drinks from the full bar on each level of the ship while live Irish music provides the soundtrack.” – Portland Mercury
