Join us on a free tour   of Baeza as we unravel the legacies left behind by 3 different faiths and customs in a city of three cultures .

We'll kick off our  free tour of Baeza  as we leave from  Paseo Portales Zapatería .

After a quick intro to Baeza, a proud member of the prestigious list of 15 Spanish World Heritage Sites , we'll begin our stroll through its historic center. Our first stop? The scenic Paseo de la Constitución which was once the city's bustling market .

Next up, we'll delve into the world of trade in Baeza, uncovering the main goods exchanged by its diverse cultures. Then, we'll journey through the origins of its  University as we make our way to the Santísima Trinidad Secondary School . Inside, we'll visit the very classroom where Antonio Machado , the renowned poet, taught between 1912 and 1919.

Leaving the University behind, we'll continue in the Plaza de Santa Cruz , where we'll contemplate the church of the same name and the Palacio de Jabalquinto . Both monuments have a very special link with the three cultures of Baeza . After discovering the significance of this connection, we'll go to the Plaza de Santa María .

In this final stroll, we'll marvel at the Cathedral of the Nativity of Our Lady, an architectural gem built upon the foundations of an ancient mosque . Fun fact: the bell tower of the present Christian edifice once served as the minaret of a Muslim sanctuary.

We'll wander through the alleyways surrounding the cathedral, which is rich in Muslim heritage . Another fun fact: you might recognize these streets from movies like Captain Alatriste ! Then, we'll head to a nearby lookout for some killer views of the olive groves . To put the perfect finishing touch, we'll sit down to an olive oil tasting at a local spot.

Finally, after 1.5 hours of exploration, we'll conclude this free tour of Baeza in the Plaza del Pópulo , nearby to the starting point.
