Portuguese Past

Impressive twin forts called Fort Al-Jalali at the entrance of Old Muscat's harbor near Sultan Qaboos palace in Muscat, Oman

The Portuguese occupiers built the impressive Al Jalali and Al Mirani Fort in the 16th century. Although they're closed to the public, they're a stunning backdrop for stroll along the harbor. The forts are on both sides high on the cliffs guarding the city's entrance.

Visit the Grand Mosque (open in the morning), a gift to the nation from Sultan Qaboos and a mix of Omani, Islamic and modern architecture. It can accommodate 20,000 worshippers and has a rich prayer hall, an elaborate chandelier and a huge Persian carpet that took four years to weave.

Picturesque Heritage

Learn more about Oman's past in the elegant New National Museum in Old Muscat. Browse the beautifully presented archaeological artifacts, manuscripts and ship models during your Muscat cruise. When you're done, snap a photo of the Al Alam Palace with its blue and gold pillars opposite the museum.

Local Cuisine

The traditional dish of Oman is majboos (also called kabsa ), basmati rice with spicy beef, chicken or fish — typically local-caught lobster, mackerel or red snapper — served with yogurt sauce. Perk up with a cup of kahwa , the local coffee mixed with cardamom powder, served alongside dates and sweets after a meal.

Head to Mutrah Souq, Muscat's oldest market and one of the most characterful souqs in the region. 06:00 -- Dubai Pickup - Musandam luxury cruise starts from picking you up from Dubai and driving to Khasab Musandam Oman if you booked the transport as well.

09:30 -- Meet & Greet - We expect all participants to reach our office Dhow Khasab Tours by 09:30 am. If you are coming from Dubai, please make sure you leave early as it will take around 3.5 hours from Dubai to Khasab, Musandam Oman.

10:00 -- Boat Departure - To enjoy the Musandam diving trip, it is very important to have perfect diving equipment. As soon as you arrive we will leave for diving equipment checking and make sure all divers get comfortable diving gear.

11:00 -- Dolphin Watching - Dolphin watching is the most adventurous activity in the Musandam luxury cruise. There are major chances that you will see them but it is not guaranteed.

12:00 -- Telegraph Island - Our boat will historical Telegraph Island and will have the first stop for snorkeling and swimming. Telegraph Island is one of the best places for swimming.

13:00 -- Lunch Time - Lunch will be served on the boat that may include fried chicken, fried rice, salad, Khubz (Arabic Bread), Hummus, fruits, and soft drinks.

14:00 -- Seebi Island - As we served lunch on the boat, will sail towards the Seebi Island and reach there by 03:00 PM. You will have another opportunity for snorkeling and swimming.

19:00 -- BBQ Dinner - BBQ dinner will be served on the boat around 07:30 pm that may include chicken tikka, grilled fish, chicken kebab, fried rice, Khubz (Arabic bread), hummus, salad, soft drinks, fruits, and plain water. If it is not windy we will make a live BBQ dinner on the boat.

07:30 -- Breakfast - Our staff will serve you breakfast on the boat that may include boiled eggs, yogurt, jams, bread, coffee, tea, bottled juices, plain water, and soft drinks.

09:30 -- Khasab Arrival - Luxury Khasab Musandam cruise will come to an end by 09:30 am and we will touch the Khasab Musandam dhow port. If you have booked transport, we will drop you back as well.

• We need a 50% deposit to book the Musandam luxury tour and 50% can be paid on arrival in cash or by card.
• If you cancel the tour 20 days before the departure, a 100% deposit will be refunded.
• If the tour is canceled within 20 to 10 days before the departure, 50% of the deposit amount will be refunded.
• If you cancel the tour within 10 days of departure, then there will not be any refund, and nor the deposit will be used for the next tour.
• If you do not appear for the trip due to any reason, there will not be any refund, and nor the deposit will be used for the next tour.
• The company reserve the right to cancel the trip due to weather condition, unforeseen reasons, or instructed by the government and will reschedule the same tour.

Everyone coming from UAE is supposed to have Oman visit visa that can be applied online at https://evisa.rop.gov.om/ or on the border as well. If you are planning to get the Oman visit on arrival from the border, you must comply with the below details:

Vaccination : All participants above 18 years must have a vaccination certificate in printed form.

PCR : All the participants older than 12 years must present printed negative PCR taken within 72 hours from the time of arrival at the Oman border.

Passport Validity : Everybody must carry an original passport valid for more than 90 days from the travel date.

Oman Visit Visa : It will be 35 AED for each UAE exit fee and 5 OMR for Oman visit visas applied on arrival from the border.

Visa Validity : If a UAE resident, then the visa must be valid for more than 90 days from the travel date.

Sponsored Visa : If you have a sponsored (dependent) visa, the sponsor must be traveling along.

Eligibility : All professions for UAE residents are not eligible for an arrival visa. Contact us to check your visa eligibility.

UAE Single Entry Visa : UAE single entry visa holders are not allowed because their UAE visas get canceled while exiting UAE.

Car Ownership : You must carry a vehicle registration card (Mulika to cross the border.

Car Insurance : If you don’t have one, you can buy it from the border. (around 100 AED)

Rented Car : If you have a rented car, you must get a NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the Car Rental Company to cross the borders.

Discover the best things to do in Tuscany, a hilly region of central Italy with remarkable breadth as a destination.

Visits to Tuscany are often entirely concerned with the Renaissance, the beguiling city of Florence, and the cultural legacy of the powerful Medici family. But Tuscany is also a landscape of vineyards, the verdant Apuan Alps, and the long, sandy beaches of protected wildernesses such as Maremma on Italy’s west coast.

If you’re wondering what to do in Tuscany, you’ll never run out of ideas, from exploring medieval villages to learning the art of pasta cookery, and admiring world-famous art.

Explore Florence’s Historic District

Duomo Santa Maria del Fiore, Florence

Florence was the cradle of the Renaissance, and visiting its historic center ( centro storico ) is one of the best things to do in Tuscany.

Designated by the remains of its 14th-century town walls, the centro storico offers an unimaginable trove of artistic and cultural treasures, both in the city’s museums and outside in its squares.

Begin beside the impressive dimensions of Florence’s cathedral. One of the most beautiful buildings in Tuscany, if not all of Italy, the Duomo Santa Maria del Fiore is also a technical marvel featuring Brunelleschi’s innovative self-supporting dome.

Piazza Della Signoria, Florence

Somehow tear yourself away from the Duomo’s marble neo-gothic facade and find Piazza Della Signoria. Vying with the Duomo as the centro storico ’s main event, the piazza is an open-air sculpture park.

Besides the artistic masterpieces on display, you’ll also see the Palazzo Vecchio, the medieval political palace that wields influence even today.

See David in the Accademia Gallery

One of the world’s most famous sculptures, Michelangelo’s David , is found in Florence’s Accademia Gallery. Coming face-to-face with it is one of the best things to do in Tuscany.

Find the Accademia on via Ricasoli. Tap into one of the museum’s suggested visitor trails to get to grips with its large collection of sculptures, panel paintings, and antique musical instruments.

Among the treasures within is a model of Giambologna’s Abduction of the Sabine Women . Stop by Piazza della Signora to see the original.

Curiously, the reverse is the case with David . A copy can be seen in the square, but you’ll find the original within a well-lit alcove in the Accademia. Take your time as you marvel at the skill that breathed life into that marble form.

Marvel at Pisa’s Square of Miracles

Located just inland from the coast, Pisa was once a powerful maritime republic. Testimony to its medieval importance is its UNESCO-protected Square of Miracles (Piazza Dei Miracoli), a visit to which is one of the best things to do in Tuscany.

The grand structures here are gathered together in an almost overwhelming show of wealth and importance. These include the Old Cemetery, the Baptistery, the cathedral, and the instantly recognizable Leaning Tower.

The largest structure of its kind in the world, it contains Pisano’s Pulpit, the sculptural spark that helped ignite the creative leap known as the Renaissance.

Revel in the Uffizi Gallery’s Art Collection

Florence is known for its galleries and museums, and Uffizi Gallery is world class. Situated close to the Arno River, its collection is housed within what was essentially a stately 16th-century office block ( uffizi in Italian translates as “offices”).

Naturally, offices had more panache in the days of the Medici, and this Vasari-designed edifice is more a place of frescoes than workers’ cubicles. Inside, you’ll find an extensive collection of artworks that span over 500 years.

Explore the Sculpture-Filled Boboli Gardens

You’ll find it behind the Pitti Palace, the former Grand Ducal residence that’s since been transformed into the city’s largest museum complex. Commissioned by Cosimo Medici I in the 16th century, the Italian gardens are an artistic collaboration by some of the most recognizable names from the Renaissance.

The Boboli was also the first-ever garden designed in what came to be recognized as the “Italian Style”. Wandering amid its precisely pruned hedges and eye-catching follies, you’ll encounter the dramatic Fountain of Neptune by Lorenzi, and the Buontalenti-designed grotto with its centerpiece of Giambologna’s Bathing Venus .

Discover Lari Village

Lari Village

Once known as “the capital of the Pisan Hills”, Lari is an exquisitely constructed hilltop town. With a history dating back to the Etruscan era, it’s a repository of centuries of regional history.

Because of its strategic importance, Lari contains the imposing Renaissance fortress Castello dei Vicari. Today, this Italian castle has been transformed into a museum exhibiting objects from Etruscan times up to the Renaissance. Descend the stairs to the prison to explore the subterranean level once simply referred to as “hell”.

While Lari’s political importance ebbed over the centuries, its significance for cherry lovers has never diminished. An important production center for the fruit up until the mid-20th century, today the village’s cherry harvest (featuring 14 native varieties) is celebrated in a two-week festival at the start of summer with cherry wine, cherry torta , and dancing.

Make Authentic Tuscan Pasta

The world of Italian pasta can be bafflingly wide, and in Tuscany you’ll come across unusual regional pasta married with rich and delicious sauces. A classic is pici , a rustic, sausage-like spaghetti, once hand-rolled by the Etruscans and maintained by the Sienese in their fragrant all’aglione garlic sauce.

Situated close to the castle in the historic village of Lari, the Martelli family continues to make traditional, handmade pasta in their boutique pasta factory. Explore Volterra

A beautifully preserved medieval village, Volterra has a history that stretches back to the pre-Roman Etruscan civilization.

The history is tangible within the town’s impressive Etruscan-era walls, as well as among its other archaeological treasures. See the beautifully situated Roman theater, the Etruscan Acropolis (dating back to the 8th century BC), and Volterra’s handsome Piazza dei Priori with its weathered flagstones and countless arched windows and doorways.

Perched on a hilltop southwest of Florence, Volterra has long been known for its production of alabaster. The “alabastrai” artisans of Volterra created all manner of objects from alabaster, the most significant being Etruscan funerary urns. Head to Volterra’s Guarnacci Museum to see them, one of the world’s leading museums about the Etruscan civilization.

Wander Livorno’s Canals

One of the best things to do in Tuscany is to go slightly off the beaten track and discover a slice of authentic Tuscany. Livorno is one of the best places to achieve this.

Once a powerful medieval port controlled by the Florentine Medici family, Livorno (a name that translates to the ungainly “leghorn” in English) has a rich past. Today it’s the third largest city of this Italian region and, while it’s expanded, the historic seafront has remained intact.

Livorno’s most handsome quarter is the Venezia Nuova, a 17th-century area of canals, bars housed in the storerooms of former merchants’ mansions, and seafood-focused trattorias. Leading off from the port, you’ll find Venezia Nuova full of life at aperitivo hour.

Cycle Lucca’s Defensive Walls

Close to the coast is Lucca, a beautiful Italian city with a sizable historic center ensconced within its original medieval walls.

Formerly one of the richest cities in Tuscany, Lucca is a glorious spot for a day trip or weekend escape. Wander across its pretty boutique-lined piazzi , climb to the leafy heights of its Guinigi Tower, and take a cycle ride around the broad walls.

Italy isn’t just a land of incredible cuisine and immortal sculpture; it’s also a nation of fashion and design. Florence is one of the country’s epicenters for snappy loafers and sharp-suited Italians, so checking out the fashion museums there is one of the best things to do in Tuscany.

A headlining homegrown fashion brand is Gucci. Head to the Palazzo della Mercanzia to find its HQ’s engrossing, three-floor museum featuring Oscars awards dresses and more. One of the city’s best restaurants, Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura, is on the ground floor.

Experience Tuscany’s Wild Side in Maremma

Marina di Alberese, Maremma National Park

In Tuscany’s southwest, you’ll find Maremma, a vast swathe of untouched coastline that spills over into neighboring Lazio.

This is a protected wildlife area and Maremma’s boar, foxes, and snowy plovers range across the watchtower-dotted Uccellina Mountains and the area’s 15 miles of sandy coastline. If you enjoy nature, you’ll love it here. If you’re a beach lover as well, you’re in heaven.

Walk through the low-growing sage bushes and wildflowers to reach the famously pristine beaches in Tuscany , such as Marina di Alberese. As you approach the village through the beautiful Val d’Elsa countryside, you immediately notice the tower houses rising above the puzzle of terracotta rooftops. These ostentatious domiciles were a sign of San Gimignano’s medieval wealth in the days when the town acted as a stopover for pilgrims en route to Rome.

In its pomp—which you can see reproduced in ceramic miniature in the town’s San Gimignano 1300 museum—there would have been about five times as many stocky skyscrapers. Each would have housed ambitious, well-to-do local families.

You can look inside Torre Grossa, the tallest remaining tower in the town, to get an idea of what Keeping up with the Joneses felt like in medieval Italy.

Three oceans in 149 days: Silversea's new world cruise features its most destinations ever

Silversea Cruises is known for epic globe-spanning itineraries. But the luxury line’s 2027 world cruise will take guests to more destinations than ever.

The voyage will feature highlights of the Pacific, Indian and Atlantic oceans over about five months. Passengers will visit 80 destinations – many of which the line has not previously included on a world cruise – in 35 countries.

“Calling in more destinations than any voyage in Silversea’s history, we proudly unveil The Three Oceans World Cruise 2027, which broadens our industry-leading offering of extended voyages,” the line’s president, Bert Hernandez, said in a news release . “Traveling aboard Silver Dawn, one of the smallest ships to embark on a World Cruise, our guests will venture off the beaten path to 80 destinations on five continents over 149 days, with the longest stays in port of any World Cruise.”

When is Silversea’s 2027 world cruise?

The cruise will depart on Jan. 8, 2027, from Los Angeles. Silver Dawn, which can accommodate 596 guests, will end the voyage on June 7 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Where will the cruise sail?

Passengers will first spend 46 days sailing from Los Angeles to Brisbane, Australia, stopping in ports like Hilo and Kahului in Hawaii, Moorea and Bora Bora in French Polynesia and more along the way.

“As well as having the opportunity to visit the UNESCO-listed Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, guests will enjoy a bespoke World Cruise event on this beautiful archipelago, honoring ancient Polynesian seafarers at a sunset ho'olaule'a in Honolulu, with traditional fare, tropical libations, and a night of stargazing,” Silversea said in the release.

From Brisbane, the ship will head to Cape Town, South Africa. The ship will visit destinations like Singapore and the Maldives before guests spend a week on a “deep dive” into South Africa. On the final leg of the journey, passengers will explore other parts of Africa and the Mediterranean on their way to Northern Europe.

Other programming includes safari experiences, an overland trip to southern Africa’s Victoria Falls and a night of music at St. Anne’s Cathedral in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The itinerary features 11 overnight stops in ports such as Cairns, Australia; Colombo, Sri Lanka; and Bordeaux, France, as well.

How much does the cruise cost?

Pricing info will be available on June 10. Silversea’s 2026 world cruise – which will sail for 140 days, also on Silver Dawn – currently starts at just under $89,000 per person based on double occupancy.

The cruise will be available for presale to members of Silversea’s Venetian Society loyalty program on June 20. Bookings will open for the general public on June 27. Passengers will receive perks like laundry service, spa treatments and more.

Everyone you know is going on a cruise

­­­ Lots of people will be getting their sea legs this summer.

Ports have been packed with cruise ships over the last few years, as vacationers flock to ever larger vessels and operators race to accommodate a surge in post-pandemic bookings — many of them from first-time passengers. The industry expects even more this year.

Benjamin Xiang, a San Francisco-based flight attendant, went on his first cruise last August, setting aside his reservations about “cruise people” and a type of trip he’d imagined would be “not my travel style.”

Taking advantage of a Virgin Voyages promotion that let him use credit card points to cover the $2,500 bill, Xiang booked a weeklong, all-inclusive, adults-only cruise from Barcelona, with stops at Mallorca, Ibiza and along the French Riviera.“I invited my best friend, we prepaid a $600 bar tab, and we were like, ‘We’ll just hang by the pool, read a book or something,’” said Xiang, 35. “Turned out we partied every single night and had a blast.”

He’s among the many cruise newbies who’ve helped power the industry’s recent growth. Some 27% of cruise passengers over the past two years have been first-timers, up 12% from the prior two-year period, according to the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), a trade group.

“Will I go back? I think yes,” Xiang said. “Will I pay this time? Yes.”That’s exactly what cruise operators are hoping for, and so far they’re getting it: 82% of all cruisers say they’ll book again, CLIA’s latest report found.

After welcoming 31.7 million passengers last year, 7% more than in 2019, the industry expects volumes to swell to 34.7 million by the end of 2024. Experts say a combination of newcomers, repeat bookers and younger travelers are powering the uptick.

Like Xiang, many first-time cruisers are groups of friends traveling together, said Jennifer Klaussen, who owns Sundari Travel in Malibu, California.

“Once they get on a cruise and realize it’s not what they thought it would be, they’re usually interested in future cruises and diverse destinations,” she said, adding that newer operators have managed to “reduce the stigma associated with cruising — that it’s only for the elderly.”

Passengers under age 40, including kids, made up around 42% of cruisegoers last year, up from 35% in 2019, according to CLIA. While the average age of a cruise customer is 46 industrywide, millennials now make up nearly the same share — 22% — as baby boomers and Gen Xers, who each comprise 24%.“The cruise industry has been hard at work to launch new ships and experiences that are attractive to a younger, newer demographic,” said Colleen McDaniel, editor-in-chief of Cruise Critic, “whether that’s a big, new ship with eye-catching attractions for families, or more bucket-list-worthy experiences like sailings in the Galapagos or Antarctica.”

The cruise industry has been hard at work to launch new ships and experiences that are attractive to a younger, newer demographic.

Amenities don’t hurt either, said Nathan Rosenberg, chief brand officer at Virgin Voyages, which began sailing only in 2021, as the cruise industry rebounded from the pandemic. “Millennials and Gen Z love the fact that everything is included. Think meals foodies would love, tips covered, Wi-Fi to stay connected and a ton of fitness classes,” he said.Vessels are getting bigger to handle the growing demand.

In January, Royal Caribbean Group launched Icon of the Seas — currently the world’s largest cruise ship, with 20 decks, 40 restaurants and room for more than 7,000 passengers and 3,000 crew members.

The company, meanwhile, reported a 16% increase in new cruisegoers between this year and last across its various cruise lines. Nearly half of all Royal Caribbean guests are millennials or younger, CEO Jason Liberty said on the company’s first-quarter earnings call.

Similarly, Norwegian Cruise Lines CEO Harry Sommer told CNBC earlier this month, “We appeal obviously to older customers, but millennial and Gen Z is the fastest-growing segment of our cruising right now.”

Cruises generally aren’t cheap, though, and Sommer noted that the company’s target customer is middle- or upper-income. As consumer spending cools down across much of the economy, Americans are adjusting their summer vacation plans to fit their budgets.The share of travelers put off by steep prices hit 32% in Deloitte’s annual summer travel survey , up sharply from 24% last year. But more affluent vacationers still seem eager to shell out on everything from first-class airfare to luxury train trips , as the industry continues to push premium offerings .

“More higher-income travelers are headed to cruises,” whereas “lower-income travelers are going camping,” the Deloitte report, released Tuesday, said. (“RV trips are up across the board,” it added.)

That doesn’t mean cruise passengers aren’t paying attention to price.

Jaclyn Groh will be going on her first cruise in March 2025, sailing around the Caribbean. The 34-year-old therapist and social work professor at Ohio State University in Columbus typically takes her family on boat trips on a lake, beach visits, “and of course the occasional Disney adventure for the kiddos,” said Groh.

While some of her friends have done family cruises, she’s never been interested in the largest cruise ships because they seem “overwhelming.” But in shopping around for a vacation next year for just her and her husband, Groh said her travel agent’s description of the packages available won her over.The smaller Explora II vessel she opted for has a “boutique feel that we love,” she said. And it’s priced about the same as the resort in Curaçao where the couple will be celebrating their 10th anniversary this fall. That week on land will run about $6,500, while the cruise comes to about $6,700.

“The price seems very reasonable for all of the inclusions, and yet with the cruise we will get to experience so many new locations and excursions,” said Groh, who’s looking forward to “a perfect combination of resting in luxury and adventuring.”

What type of ship will i be on.

Our Adventure Cruising trips operate on a Motor Yacht that carries between 16-36 passengers, and the primary propulsion method is motorised. The decor varies between ships with some contemporary and some more traditional in their styling.

What are the cabins like? Why are they different prices?

All cabins are air-conditioned and our ship generators provide an electric current of 220v. Cabins are equipped with European type plugs so please remember to bring an adaptor if necessary.

Please be aware that cabins are compact in size, with wardrobe and storage space also compact. All cabins on all ships have private bathrooms with hairdryers and come with some toiletries such as shampoo and shower gel. A safe and minibar (containing water) are in every cabin. Pricing depends on the cabin type - similar to a hotel, some cabins offer superior views, larger windows/portholes and larger or additional living space. You can view cabin types on our ships  page.

How long will be spent between sailing and port?

As much as possible, most relocation sailing will take place at night, allowing for more time to be spent at port and exploring. The majority of itineraries have at least one port stop or swim stop every day. In places of particular interest the ship will moor all day, allowing additional time for shore excursions and off-ship activities. It’s a good idea to familiarise yourself with the trip itinerary in order to be aware of what time is scheduled at port and what excursions are on offer. However, please be aware that weather conditions may prompt a change to published itineraries.

How much time will I have on shore at each stop?

The amount of time you spend ashore at each stop will vary depending on the stop and each individual itinerary. It is not always possible to give accurate arrival and departure times from each port. Travelling on a small ship means we are more affected by changes to the winds and tides. If conditions are in our favour we may make excellent time and arrive in port earlier than expected. But if conditions are against us, it may take longer to reach our next stop. One of the charms of small ship cruising is letting nature be part of your journey.

How accessible are the ships?

It’s important to be aware that none of the ships have lifts, and moving between decks will involve climbing fairly steep stairways. To disembark the ship in port, you will need to walk down a narrow gangway lowered to the dock. On our Croatian cruises, you will usually dock at all ports, and tenders (small dinghies) are rarely used. On our Galapagos cruises, we use zodiacs to transport you between the boat and land. You will need to be comfortable getting in and out of the zodiacs to enjoy all the included activities throughout the itinerary. Our crew are always at hand to assist you.

Will I get seasick?

How often the ship sails in open waters depends on the itinerary. The itineraries that sail along the coast should experience sheltered conditions on most days, but those that sail between islands will cross open waters and may sail through heavier seas. Unless you are certain that you’re impervious to seasickness, it is necessary to come prepared with precautionary medication or other methods of combatting seasickness. Please be aware that there are no doctors aboard the ships.

Who will I be travelling with?

Our Adventure Cruises in the Galapagos have a maximum of 16 passengers and Croatia cruises have a maximum of 36 passengers.

What if I’m travelling solo?

On all our Intrepid itineraries, if you’re travelling solo, it is possible to share a twin share cabin with another passenger of the same gender, depending on availability. If you would like your own cabin, you can choose to pay a single supplement and receive a cabin to yourself.

What language is spoken on the ship?

The language on board is English (with fluent staff).

Is the itinerary always the same?

By its nature, all travel by sea is subject to the weather, winds, and tides. Occasionally the order in which we visit destinations may need to change to accommodate weather conditions and, sometimes, other ports may be substituted. Safety is always our first priority. All ships are operated by an experienced captain and crew.

What will the weather be like?

For the comfort and pleasure of our guests, our itineraries generally follow warm rather than hot weather patterns. The world's climate being at times unpredictable, our small ships are seldom far from a sheltered bay or port.

What is the official currency on board?

On our Croatia cruises, the Euro is the official currency on board. On our Galapagos Islands cruises, USD is the official currency onboard.  There is an optional credit system for expenses on board that may be paid/settled at the end of the cruise. Credit card payment is not always accepted on board. Please refer to the essential trip information” for further information

What if I have dietary requirements?

Most dietary requirements can be catered for on all ships, except for kosher and halal. Please advise us at the time of booking and we will do all that we can.

Are alcoholic drinks available on board?

Alcoholic drinks are available on all ships and are reasonably priced. For example, EUR5 for the cocktail of the day or EUR3.50 for a glass of wine. The bar runs on a chit system where you sign for drinks as you purchase them, with the amount added to your on-board account. This account is settled at the end of the voyage.

Is there a dress code on board?

Dress aboard the boat is very casual – it is a holiday after all. However, you may wish to bring a smarter outfit, such as a sundress or a shirt with a collar, for the final night’s Captain’s Dinner or if you plan to eat off the ship in port.

Is there Internet available on board?

Wifi is available on our ships at an additional cost. Please note, it may be unavailable in more remote locations or when sailing.

Can I combine an Adventure Cruise with another land tour?

Yes definitely, and it's a popular option for many. While dates might not always align perfectly, there are plenty of options like day tours  to bridge the time between the tours. Contact us or your local travel agent to find out more.

Are the Adventure Cruises guaranteed departures?

If you've found a tour you like, we can request space and confirm availability within 2-4 days.  Once availability is confirmed, a deposit is required within 7 days.  We suggest not booking other things like flights until availability is confirmed.

Once the space is confirmed by our local team and your deposit has been paid, your tour is guaranteed to depart - meaning you can book your airfares and additional accommodation with confidence. Please note that like all of our tours, this is subject to our regular booking conditions.

Are flights included?

While International flights aren't included in the tour cost, we can assist with booking these. Our partnerships with the major airlines mean we can get you the best price on flights for your intended travel dates. Sometimes it can be challenging organising flights. Some destinations are harder to get to than others, and we know it can be tricky trying to negotiate dates, transfers and prices. So speak to us  about how we can get you there easier.

Can you book additional accommodation, day tours and transfers?

Yes, we can generally assist with all of this when you're ready to book your trip. Contact us  to find out more.

Can I go swimming from the ship?

Of course! All ships have a swimming platform which is usually located at the back of the ship. The crew will always be present to monitor the safety of swimmers, watching either from the ship or a small zodiac safety boat. Additional towels are available during swim stops. All ships are equipped with snorkelling equipment that you are free to use. Some ships also offer kayaks and stand-up paddleboards for use at swim stops.

What is included in my cruise cost?

We include: a minimum of two meals daily, activities and land excursions (as per the itinerary), Comfortable accommodation on the boat, all port fees, services of local tour leaders, airport arrival transfer, drinking water, 24-hour coffee station with fruit and snacks, and snorkelling equipment. Some trips have kayaks and stand-up paddleboards available for use.

What is not included in my cruise cost?

We do not include: International flights, travel insurance, discretionary tips for leaders and crew, some meals, onboard purchases (such as beverages), hotel-to-port transfer (if arriving prior to the day of embarkation), airport departure transfer (unless pre-booked), any additional hotel accommodation not outlined in trip itinerary, personal expenses.
