‘Eco-adventure tourism’ park to open this week in Southwest Delhi

Called haritima adventure eco-tourism park, it is spread over 16 acres and will be opened to the public from wednesday..

In a bid to boost night tourism and provide a ‘countryside experience’ to Delhiites, the Delhi government’s tourism department has developed an ‘eco-adventure tourism’ park on the outskirts of Southwest Delhi’s Kanganheri Village near Najafgarh. This includes the city’s first-ever ‘staycation’ facility with 20 AC cottages.

Called Haritima adventure eco-tourism park, it is spread over 16 acres and will be opened to the public from Wednesday. “The main aim behind this park is to bring people closer to nature and provide them a countryside experience. When people will visit this place, they won’t feel like they are in Delhi,” said an official.

Officials said that while there will be no entry fee for visiting the park during the day, the cost of the cottages per night will be Rs 5,000 for two people, including food and pool facilities. The rooms can be booked online and offline. Besides the ‘staycation’ facility, the tourism department has also developed a ‘village’ to provide a rural experience to tourists. It will have mini farmlands where people will be shown the process of farming. Besides, other facilities on offer include clubhouses with indoor games, hot tubs, heated community pools, a fitness centre, business centre, and free WiFi.

It will also offer adventure activities for adults and kids, such as zip-lining, boat rides, bull rides, wall-climbing, a magic show, DJ and rain dance, and other games. Officials said activities like kayaking and canoeing will also be started. Officials said they wanted to develop a bar but didn’t receive permission for it. “The government wants to make it a picnic spot for school children. So, the plan has been cancelled,” an official said.

The park was initially started in 2015-16 but never took off as it didn’t attract many visitors. “It is opening for the first time with all these facilities. Lodging facilities are ready; filters are beings replaced in swimming pools. It will be available from the weekend,” said Prakash Nagar, managing director of the Naagar Infrastructure and Private Limited, the firm which manages the park.

Escaping Delhi at the Haritima eco-tourism park 

For the longest time, Delhiites have had to travel to different states to get a whiff of natural air. Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan are the top picks for nature lovers looking for an escape from Delhi . However, it is not always possible to head so far away just to see some greenery. 

According to reports, the main aim behind this park is to bring people closer to nature and provide them an experience that is reminiscent of the countryside. “When people visit this place, they won’t feel like they are in Delhi,” an official stated.

Amenities at the new adventure park 

Even though it is an eco-tourism park, the facilities at the place are top-notch. There are adventure options for those who wish to visit in the mornings and 20 air-conditioned cottages for those who would like to stay through the night. 

The park offers adventure activities such as boat rides, zip-lining, wall-climbing, and more. According to the official reports, canoeing and kayaking will also be added to the roster of adventure activities after a while.

There are some great destinations near Delhi NCR , but this eco-tourism park has the potential to become the perfect weekend getaway for all those who need a little break from city life and a dive into nature, adventure, and relaxation.

Worth every penny spent!

Tbh if you’re planing to spend a nice night stay with your friends, partying and all the booze or a cozy night stay with your partner, the place is one of the best options, trust me. We were a group of 4, with 2 couple. The place is neither in Delhi, nor Haryana. It is in the outskirts of Gurgaon, so you don’t really cross toll. Rooms are pretty big and cozy, 55” TV serves the purpose. Swiming pool, ATV rides and Archery is pretty cool in house thing they have. Can’t wait for more activities they propose. Food is fine but a little over priced, would suggest ordering North Indian and carrying your snacks prior to visits. Also, I won’t suggest leaving resort at any cost midnight or near to evening, as the area is not safe for travelling. . So, I would say…pack all your things before visit to this place (a must and recommended visit) and take a break from regular city life. A big thumbs up to the place btw! 👍🏻

Check room thoroughly before checking in. Look for availability of all items like towels, water bottles, toiletries, mini fridge. 2. The location of the resort is awesome, rooms are neat, clean, and well maintained. But the room service is very pathetic. Our room's intercom was not working and the mobile signal was also not there due to the location. So after repeated requests for changing the room or check the intercom was given but no luck. The next day morning no one was available at the reception counter till 11 am and we had to wait for food and water till 11 am. Then checked out with both things and had food outside. Location, ambiance, and rooms are useless if you can't provide the basic amenities at the remote location.

Stay was excellent, well maintained swimming pool and manicured gardens. Huge parking space. Staff was friendly and quick to assist. Facility to ride rtv available. Food was nice. I think one of the best place around ncr for this price range. Others will charge 10k/15k for such stay. Rooms were excellent.

Resort location is far from city, some room products is missing, like soap,. Nature is good, they listen you but take lots of time, rest is fine. For swimming they don't allow in your own dress, you have to purchase from him.

Pleasant and cool ”

We stayed here for a night. It's a nice and peaceful stay. Location is good away from city's crowd good for aresort location. Staff was good and professional. Food was nice and good to taste. The only issue was internet. It's difficult to get net connection inside the room. Despite this there is no issues in staying at this place. It's a good and nice maintained property.

Humayun’s Tomb  – Its on Mathura Road, was built in the mid 16th century by Haji Begum, wife of the second Mughal Emperor, Humayun. It displays characteristics of the Mughal style with high arches and double domes, and is considered the forerunner of the Taj Mahal.

Lotus ( Bahai ) Temple  – The Lotus Temple also known as Bahai temple a house of worship completed in 1986. Notable for its Lotus flowerlike shape has become a prominent place of attraction in New Delhi. It remain closed on Monday.

ISKCON Temple Delhi  – This temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and Radharani of Hinduism. The temple was built with stone and marble. This latticed tower temple is located at the highest point of the hill. You can find many carved wood and stone carvings in the temple walls, which explain the mythological stories of Hinduism.

Lotus Temple  – Designed for tranquil worship, Delhi’s beautiful Lotus Temple (Bahai Temple) offers a rare pocket of calm in the hectic city. This architectural masterpiece was designed by Iranian-Canadian architect Fariburz Sahba in 1986. It is shaped like a lotus flower, with 27 delicate-looking white-marble petals. The temple was created to bring faiths together; visitors are invited to pray or meditate silently according to their own beliefs

Chhatarpur Temple  – Delhi’s second-largest temple (after Akshardham), this impressive sandstone and marble complex dates from 1974, and is dedicated to the goddess Katyayani (one of the nine forms of Parvati). There are dozens of shrines with towering South Indian gopurams (temple towers), and an enormous statue of Hanuman stands guard over one part of the complex.

Gurudwara Bangla Sahib  – This magnificent white-marble gurdwara (Sikh temple), topped by glinting golden onion domes, was constructed at the site where the eighth Sikh guru, Harkrishan Dev, stayed before his 1664 death. As at all gurdwaras, free meals are served to pilgrims daily. Just inside the entrance to the complex is a small museum, chronicling the history of Sikhism and its gurus and martyrs.

Swaminarayan Akshardham  – Delhi’s largest temple, the Gujarati Hindu Swaminarayan Group’s Akshardham Temple was built in 2005, and is breathtakingly lavish. Artisans used ancient techniques to carve the pale red sandstone into elaborate reliefs, including 20,000 deities, saints and mythical creatures. The centerpiece is a 3m-high gold statue of Bhagwan Shri Swaminarayan surrounded by more, fabulously intricate carvings.

Haritima Adventure Eco-tourism Park – Delhi

The Delhi Tourism department is set to welcome nature and adventure lovers at the Haritima adventure eco-tourism park . The park is being opened to boost night tourism in the capital and offer a countryside experience to visitors. The park is located on the outskirts of Kanganheri village in Southwest Delhi . The park will also provide a staycation facility to visitors, thanks to its newly-built airconditioned cottages.

Sprawled over 16 acres, the park will also offer a range of adventure and entertainment activities like zip-lining, wall-climbing, kayaking, canoeing, boating, magic show, and rain dance, among others. Visitors will have to pay no entry fee for visiting the park during day time.
